4% is pretty significant. Wesker will still be high tier.

Yeah, but now with the infection resetting to 1% after unhook I don't see the point even if I want to tunnel.
Better get use to the egg to make catching survs on loop more easy.

At low mmr matches his power may seem easy to land but once your facing really good survivors it's alot more difficult than you think you have to be precise and know when to use it and understand the distance etc it's alot more complex than you think

    Edit

    I 100 percent agree it's definitely easier than some m2s but I wouldn't say it's easy

    Wesker main here too.
It's definitely NOT easy to land at high MMR.
It became a little easier now that the FoV can be 103º since survs can't hug you to "hide" from it, but still not easy.

  • Me?
I'm removing the Videoconference Device since the only thing the infection is gonna do now are the insta-downs.
Will try the Gold Egg or simply stop playing killer until Dracula comes.

  • Even if these changes don't come to the live servers just the fact that they are being speculated makes me to give up and kneel to the mighty Gen Rush.
I'll go back to use my fun Hex build and hope for a miracle of a 3K to happen.

I’m cautiously optimistic that the DS change will somewhat help. I just worry it will lead to an uptake of killers reverting to slugging again. If a killer is determined to tunnel you out of the match, they’ll just persevere through the DS stun just like they did before.

That’s the reason why I do love running BT, worth it just to see scummy killers try to count and go for the down when tunnelling because they’ve counted to 10 instead of 20 ha.

That's why I hit survs as they are unhooked.
Bye Bye DH, BT and OTR.

it probably is working as intended, since the intention was to screw over experienced blights and help inexperienced blight.

what they did is like making nurse into a 4.6m/s killer but removing one of her blinks. does it nerf the good ones and buff the bad ones? sure. doesn't make it a good change though.

    Nurse's Blinks are her power.
Blight's Hugh Tech was a bug, so no. It's not the same thing.

  • Thank you BHVR team for riding the game of this bug.
Please continue with the good work eliminating more and more of this things.

Also I don't understand people complaining they can't exploit a bug anymore.
It was a bug. You were cheating not too different from people who use external tools. You were gaining an advantage that was not intended.
If you spent years playing like that and now needs to "re-learn" Blight that's on you.

  • @Venusa said:

Same. I'm on Steam and matches are unusually laggy and there's a lot of rubber-banding happening.

    Same here too.
Steam and LOTS of rubber-banding happening.

  • Easy solution:
Make survs have something to do besides gens like, I don't know, get fuel to them.
Survs must be pretty bad and/or the killer pretty good to be able to win while still there's 4 survs alive with just only one gen up.
I tunnel every match because of it.

Gens are done too fast because survs have nothing else to do, but if BHVR add another objective for survs I would play with my food for the match to become more interesting and even say go ahead and make Off The Record basekit.
I've used to be able to win without any gen perks, but after they tampered with MMR I had to give up a fun build for the Pain Res + Pop combo.

  • @LeFennecFox said:

4% just shouldn't exist at all as a mechanic. Quite a few perks/offerings that are wasted on gambling.

    Exactly.
They should simply remove the ability to try to unhook yourself if it's not by Deliverance, Sable's perk or the anti camping mechanic.

Also which mechanic the killer has that has a % chance of doing something good for him/her besides skill checks?

  • I hate it in both my matches as a surv or killer.
Most people who does this are certainly damn kids that can't handle any hardship life throws at them and give up without trying in any situation.

"I got the first hook, so it's 100% sure I'm not escaping. Let's die and go to the next match".

I'd probably email DBD support because it sounds a little risky. Does EAC have some sort of email system in place to ask questions?

    Thanks for replying man.

I've found the problem. It's the god damn antivirus (BitDefender) that have some problem with the Easy Anti Cheat

  • @mikewelk said:

Are there any YouTube videos out there about this?

Yes, but they basically said to either delete the EasyAntiCheat folder and then make Steam re-download it or use the repair function of EAC.

    Thanks for the help :)

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

I think it’s fine if it stays as it is until they implement the anti 3-gen solution, but after that happens it should go back to the way it was before.

So they are really creating a solution, mechanic or whatever about it... Interesting.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Be carefull what you wish for.

It will nerf stealth Killers early game because Survivors will know who you are and expect you sneak coming in.

"Oh it's ghostface, oh Its wraith, etc." could lead in less suprising = no free hit/down in early game.

    Damn! That makes sense.

Well... they could give it to some killers then, like Wesker and Nemesis having the RPD hooks.

  • @Trollinmon said:

I had something like this happening and it was bad ram. I used HCI memtest and tested all ram at the same time. Ended up being a small portion of ram would give an error every 5 or so minutes. If you haven't done that then I would at least test to see if all your ram is working correct to rule that out.

    Thanks for the tip. :)

I THINK that I've found the issue: memory overclocking. This PC is 3 weeks old and while I was setting it up I turned DOCP on. I've disabled it and now HCI memtest don't give me errors for the first 10 minutes even opening 17 instances of it at the same time to test all the RAM. A full test would need like 40 minutes, but I'll play the game for the next days and see what happens.

This issue tough only happens with DbD. Every other game, emulator and etc that I have here works fine with DOCP on.

  • @Header said:

    looks like wesker is back

    #########?

He's indeed back and you can even look for matches with him.

  • Sorry for the double post guys.

I understand people saying "go play other killers". Humans all have different opinions in a lot of matters. I used to main Piinhead and I have this thing where I only play as my fav character in any game that has characters to select no matter how good or bad they are, so I only played Pinhead and never bothered to learn any other killer. I do play the others, but only if I have a daily or a tome challenge to do with them.

When Wesker got released I completely forgot about Pinhead and now only play as him, not because he's good, but because of how much I like Resident Evil and he's my fav character from that franchise and one of my top fav of all media. I like Pinhead, but if I take all fiction characters that I like Pinhead is not near Wesker.

Since DbD is "limited" to horror stuff the only character now that could possibly dethrone Wesker for me is Dracula and it wouldn't matter how good or bad he would be compared to Wesker. I used to play DB FighterZ with Bardock on my team and he's top tier and also played Smash Bros since Melee as Ganondorf even he being one of or THE worst character.

Talked too much. let's go back to the point. :P

The issue here is not being "forced" to play as other killer and, like others demonstrated, but not being able to spend BP on Wesker. Of course it would be good to play with him with this chaotic event BHVR is planning, but if it's not possible it wouldn't be too bad. The problem is indeed miss the opportunity to stock A LOT of his addons and 107% offerings.

  • @Mandy said:

We completely understand the frustration of our players and the team is hard at work in attempting to resolve the issue that has kept The Mastermind kill switched. Please remember that even if Wesker may not be available at the start of the Event, the Event does go on for quite a long time so we're not saying that he will not be available throughout the entire event.

Thanks for the time to reply to us Mandy.

Of course it would be awesome to play as Wesker with the gameplay changes that are going to be present at the event, but we completely understand if it's not possible to fix him in time.

The REAL issue here is that me, like other player, are "worried" is that we can't even spend Bloodpoints on him. We waited for this opportunity to get A LOT of his addons and the special offering that will grant 107% BP to all players.

Could you guys at least enable him in the character select screen and only disable his matchmaking button?

  • @fulltonon said:

Honestly even the hug techs are very well counterable, and same goes for this one.

If a "exploit" is more or less fair and interesting despite being an exploit, I'd rather keep it.

It's not like certain infinite or double locker or even MFT, which literally can not be countered by any way.

I think I never faced a Wesker who used these techs.

The reason I want to point it out is only to indeed help the game to be with less bugs as possible (every game has bugs), not because I can't counter it. :)

Also... what MFT stands for? :P

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

Ah cool, I video where people learn a Killer to the point to where they can do unbelieve things that make his power more interactive and fun to play against. Something that can express the passion they have for a Killer and show off their knowledge and mechanic skill.

Oh wait, you say they are "exploiting to win" (according to you)? Nah, it's not always about winning, half of the Wesker mains Ive seen do this stuff talk specifically about having fun and hitting clips, they do not care about winning, if they cared about winning, theyd be playing Nurse and Blight.

But of course, we can never have good things in the DBD community because someone is bound to complain about some niche thing that most people dont care about.

Ok. Got it! Survs are suppose to lose, right?

Wesker was made to collide into walls and objects and not just slide or don't collide at all with these things.

Fun is indeed subjective, but by exploiting glitches... this kind of "fun" is the same as using cheats.

  • @Batusalen said:

And do the same with killer's offerings, please!

    That too would be great!

My Pinhead still have 74 flans from 6th birthday, but I suck as him and now I main Wesker XD

And my Nemesis currently have nothing because I accidentally prestige him to 2 in the old system. :P

  • @zarr said:

You technically can be, but you in all likeliness won't be. EAC does not recognize these file changes as malicious, and if it were to, it at most would tell you your game files have been modified and not allow you to play until you rectify it.

This is a user configuration file that is being written to all the time anyway, you "manually" modify it by using in-game settings as well. Plus BHVR has restricted the use of most of all variables that could be harmful from these files to my knowledge. Either way, as long as you only change values of existing variables, you will be fine.

And there are various important changes people use this file for that the game unfortunately (and ridiculously) still does not present from the in-game menu. Such as disabling V-Sync and enabling true fullscreen mode with distinct display resolutions. Although the "3" and "4" thing is something the devs had already realized - "Ultra" used to be 3, but last I checked Ultra does now set the variables to 4. If that has since been reverted, I'd chalk it up as one of many such oversights where old issues pop back up in the game by accident. Their internal version documentation must be pretty wild, because old build bugs always showed up again frequently.

    Thanks for replying. :)

All of this makes sense. Went ahead and changed a few things in the file and it didn't made ANY difference XD

It seems I was already using max settings indeed.

    Thanks anyway :)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/342367/survivor-pip-build

I feel it should be noted that BP =/= Pips

Right around the time Ranks became Grades SpookyLoopz put out a video with build to help with pipping up:

Bond, Borrowed Time, Detective's Hunch, and Iron Will.

Iron Will is less powerful now, but the build doesn't include an Exhaustion perk so may still be valid. Probably have some flexibility where Borrowed Time is concerned now, too.

Item was a tool box with speed addons to try and get a gen done solo for Lightbringer points.

    Thanks for replying :)

Makes sense, but these are just aura perks (Hunch and Bound).

Sure that they can help, but I was thinking about ones that double BP earned like Prove Thyself does.

  • @JakeParkSimp said:

If you solo que, team oriented perks help the most, perks like bond, kindred, prove thyself, circle of healing etc. Basically you can try to be the team player amongst survivors that play their own game.

If you play in a swf, any perks that extend chases (windows, dh, off the record, etc) usually work really well, because the coordination is already there and if you get chased, your teammates can just bang out gens asap.

    Thanks for replying. :)

These perks seems fine, but what I'm really after are perks that gives bonus points for certain actions much like Prove Thyself does by doubling the points you get while repairing gens with someone.

EVERYTHING loses it's magic after doing it for 10th time. Every game you play over and over, every movie you watch again and again, every book you read for a 5th time. Even your girlfriend start to bore you, especially when she is wife xD It's just it. So yes, it just become fun multiplayer game after a number of matches. And nothing you could do, and it's funny to expect it would be different. Catch a moment, the first experience are the most important one, everywhere.

    Nice words. :)

What I meant is when people do these stuffs I don't have fun anymore. I bought the idea of DbD being a "horror movie simulator" and when these things happen I start to see it as a random app (like Whatsapp) or a Three Stooges movie.

TL; DR: Playing a game is suppose to be fun. When people do these things I lose interest/don't have fun anymore.

Call of Brine has always worked on multiple gens, so long as no survivor touches them

    AWESOME!

Thanks. Gonna try this right now (match is about to start).

  • @PaintedDeath said:

What Killer are you using? I find a good aura reading perk is always useful and if you are already running Scourge Hooks, then Floods of Rage is a good pick.

    I'm maining Wesker.

Floods of Rage was the first to come to mind. Do you think this is good for Wesker or another Scourge like Pinhead's would be better?

    @TheArbiter said:

If you are already kicking gens with eruption then use call of brine instead of merciless storm. Merciless storm only activates once per gen and Call of Brine is Old Ruin EVERYTIME you kick a gen.

Thought about it, but the perk isn't only activated on only one gen for 60 seconds or they changed it to work with multiple gens?

EDIT: just realized that the best options are Sadako or Sadako XD. Really glad I bought her.

  • @DoritoHead said:

Pretend to change directions by turning around but continuing to walk the direction you were already going. Usually gets the survivor to hesitate and give you a free hit, and it works best when the pallet is already down.

Most of these tiles are very weak anyway, so it’s often best to just eat the pallet.

    Hum...

What about when it's just a table or rock with no pallets? Same thing?

  • @Shroompy said:

Best trick is to try to keep your camera on them and keep holding foward as you swing (this is much easier with a higher sensitivity if youre on controller)

    Damn!

I was already with 100% sensitivity, but it seems PTB config didn't get that. Thanks :)

    @[Deleted User] said:

If you're on console, I would max out your sensitivity and get used to playing at that setting. For Blight specifically, keep in mind that his initial Rush hitbox is quite large compared to his basic attack lunge. You can wait to Rush swing until you're right on top of the survivor and you'll usually auto-lock onto them. For basic attacks, having high sensitivity helps a lot for dealing with 360s.

    Thanks for the tip.

I'm playing Wesker and will main him since I like him A LOT.

    @TheArbiter said:

Yeah so what they are doing is abusing your field of view by spinning their character in a circle and rotating the camera the opposite way.

Best advice I could give is if it's a survivor you know is going to do it, to wait it out for them to finish the circle and then swing, rather than swinging right away

    @ohheyitsbobcat said:

I find doing a bit of a crab walk helps. Don't have your camera looking right at the survivor but a bit to the left or right. It's easier to see where they go when spinning and I find the lunge doesn't get cut short nearly as often.

Other then that, just up your sensitivity and swing for the moon. It'll usually connect.

    @Marc_go_solo said:

All the previous comments are right, and another way to approach this is to stand still and swing. When they're "disappearing", they're messing with your field of view by pulling a 360 or spin to make you swing. Stopping at the right moment means that you will focus on the survivor better by steadying your view.

There are a few ways of dealing with it, and it may be worth watching videos by n00b3 to watch what he's doing as survivor, to better understand what is actually being done.

    @Lynxx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/340774/how-to-better-attack-survivors

About the only thing you can do is wait and hit when you are sure.

    @EvilSerje said:

When you close to surv and he is not in tight spot (window, pallet), don't hit immediately and don't lunge. If he start to spin, just back one step and then hit (without lunge).

Honestly this makes me sad. This 360 thing is something I was aware of, but you guys explained better to me and how to avoid it. Now I just need practice.

Killer's limited FOV in 1st is something intended to balance the game, but these people doing these circles are clearly exploiting this and is something that ruins the game for me. It loses it's "magic" of being a horror experience and just becomes an ordinary app (because if a monster or serial killer is trying to kill you in real life OF COURSE running in circles in front of him will save you). They buffed the killers in the latest patch, but didn't did squat for these kind of stupid shenanigans (360, body block, etc). Instead of having fun people just wanna win, no matter what. :(

So, in short, I'll back one step and wait for them to finish this idiotic move to strike.

    Thanks guys :)

    Gl with your chase build.

I'm not a RE fan myself but definitely pleased by how fun he looks, hype : D

    Thanks :)

I figured that gen slowdown would be the next thing, but Pain Resonance + Dead Mans Switch are not working anymore (as far as I know) and they nerfed Overcharge and Thanathophobia, so since Wesker has the perk to vault 40% faster, can vault with his power and can cover medium distance fast I figured out "why not a chase build?" :)

  • @BrokenSouI said:

Bamboozle, iri pallet break add on

, Spirit firy, enduring. You're welcome.

    Thanks for the tips.

Now that you mentioned... maybe it's indeed better to be resistant to stun and break the pallets with your head than just break them faster.

Sadly I don't have spirit or this perk of hers. Should've bought it when it popped in the shrine.

That Lab Photo addon is indeed good. Thought about it, but problem is that it's iridescent so I can't rely on it too much. :(

    @Dead_Harder said:

Imo Wesker is pretty good at chases but lacks map pressure so he is gonna need a few slowdowns and he will be golden.

I'll use the good old Pain Resonance/ Dead Mans Switch/ Eruption/ Tinkerer on him

Might switch one for Superior Anatomy if he gets countered by vaulting but if he can vault windows (can he?) as he vaults pallets with his power that shouldnt be too much of an issue.

Btw he seems insanely fun, he might not be the strongest but probably around A tier. I might legit main him if he isnt too janky with collisions on random stuff.

    Thank you also.

These are good suggestions, but I'm focusing on chases (making them as short as possible).

And as far as I remember he can only vault pallets. Need to confirm that.

He is well represented in the game IMO and it's pretty fun indeed.

Love Resident Evil (only until 5 and even that 5 and 4 were the ones were the ones who made the franchise go to hell) and Wesker is my favorite character and one of my fav from all gaming, so of course he's my new main :)

  • @Brokenbones said:

    Yes.

    All anti-slugging perks stack

    Thanks man. :)

While I waited to someone to reply I finally got matches that the killer let me fill the recovery bar. I was able to try No Mither + Unbreakable and only No Mither. The result is that they ALMOST DON'T really stack. To fill the bar you need 32 seconds, so Unbreakable should make it fill at 20.8 seconds, No Mither 24 seconds and with both perks you would need 12.8 seconds (assuming all perks are lvl 3).

Thing is that I used a stopwatch and both perks made the bar fill at 19.2 seconds, which would be 40% faster. Assuming there's a minor error in the stopwatch (since I didn't tap the recovery button in DbD and the START one in the stopwatch app at the same time) it's safe to say that Unbreakable "overwrites" No Mither recovery bonus or they stack, but the stack limit is 40%.
