reshade should be a form of cheating

It's not considered so by BHVR, but ANY form of external tool that gives you an advantage that other players have no access is a cheat regardless.
Crosshair for example is the opposite. Is something that EVERYONE have access to, even if they have to put a sticker on their TV's screens or draw it with a pen over it.

  • Pretty strange indeed.
I had Unknow and Vecna almost no stop when they were released, but now Dracula is like only 30% of my matches.

  • Simply remove the ability to try to unhook yourself unless if it's for the anti-camping feature or Deliverance.
Also remove the skill checks from 2nd stage. MAYBE give a prompt if you want to ######### if two other survs are already dead so you can die faster to give the last surv the opportunity to get the hatch.

This way the baby cannot kill him/herself on hook.
    It's that easy.

Also it get's rid of the stupid 4%
Is idiotic to have something happen that benefits one side and screws the other literally by pure luck.

This is just my way of begging BHVR for a Carmilla skin for Dracula. I'm a girl so I just have more fun playing as the female killers (Sally <3) and I've always really loved vampires.

Pleaseeeee BHVR with sugar on top, gimme my vampire queen skin !!! Not just me but I bet so many people would throw money at their screens for this.

Guess I can't put a picture here since I just created this account, but I think the most likely one to be done is her design from Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (her design from Netflix is dope but Netflix is rough with their licenses)

Also I promise to drop Nurse and become a Carmilla main, if this blessed opportunity is bestowed upon us.

    <3 @BHVR

You are not alone my dear.
I am a man and play as male characters for this exact reason. :)

  • FIXED.
Sometimes you quit the game on Steam normally, but for some reason the server think you're still logged in.
Going back to the game and out fixed this.

Lights out was rather fine for solo q. It was pretty much just tryhard sweats ruining it by playing killers that had no right being in the mode by violating the spirit and integrity of it(Legion Doc) their powers should have been worthless.

KKillers were not capable of finding survivors who used stealth so unhooked survivors would get tunneled out

    Damn.
I don't tunnel when playing serious, so would definitely not do it in a "goofy" mode.
Also makes sense about the killers who could "outplay" the dark.

Even if you don't think it matters, balance is very important. If a mode is deeply unfun for one side, they'll simply stop queueing up for it. Light's out survivor queues were pretty much dead after 2 days and without survivors there is no game for killers (and vice versa)

    Makes sense.
What I meant is that it's not needed to be perfectly balanced for a first try.

Now I'm more intrigued about what was so terrible for survs in Light's Out.
I didn't saw anything THAT terrible.

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

Probably scrapped because I can't imagine how they'd balance that.

    @sizzlingmario4 said:

I feel like that would be really difficult to balance and keep interesting for more than a day or two. Chucky is evidence of how much of an advantage 3rd person perspective would be to killers, adding 1st person survivor perspective on top of that I just can't picture that being fun for survivor at all. A lot of loops in the game just wouldn't work very well for it because they weren't designed with that in mind. Maybe it could work with specially designed loops and tiles specifically for the modifier, but that's probably not worth the time investment.

Doesn't need to be very well balanced.
Just need to be fun. :)

Ah. Hadn’t watched the stream. Yeah 2v8 and Chaos Mode were well received but Lights Out and to a lesser extent My Little Oni were not. I wonder how they’d improve Lights Out so survivors want to play it. That was the issue with it before.

Really? Survs didn't wanted to play?
I thought it was decent fun for both sides. Jump scares for survs, laughs for killers. :P

1st person is one of best parts of playing killer in this game.

    you feel so immersed.

no way i would trade that for slight comp advantage.

wouldnt mind 1st person survivor modifier.

    For me it's the worst.
1st person for me is not immersive because, again, I feel like playing as a pair of floating limbs.
I would take a huge nerf for killers if 3rd person was an option. I would learn and adapt to play around this supposed nerf.

There are definitely issues. I synced my Steam, XBOX and Microsoft Store. My Microsoft Store didn't have any DLCs so perfect to check what synced.

My Steam DLC (only about 4 DLCs) appeared ok with the characters unlocked and any currency I earned was there.

On syncing XBOX the currency, inventory (I believe) and skins from Battle Passes and Auric Cell purchases are there. However none of my DLCs purchased on the XBOX Store have synced. I should have all characters but most are requiring repurchase and this behaviour account isn't picking up the duplicate DLCs. So seems like XBOX Store purchases are not syncing.

Oh and no family sharing, from reading previous comments. All purchased on my own account and all showing as 'Install To You own this' on the web site.

    Thanks for replying guys. :)
That's the reason I've started buying all DLC characters in-game instead of the digital stores. Wanted to avoid this possible issue.

Maybe Xbox is facing bankruptcy and are doing something so you stay on Xbox. XD

Fun fact: Wesker has been my main since his release, so i think both of us will probably use tje same both killers. Heh

I started playing DbD with Pinhead and too became a Wesker main since he got in.
We are both people of excellent taste then. :)

  • @LordGlint said:

I just wonder how some of these bugs even happen. They often times have bugs hit live right after doing a PTB that never had the bug. They ALSO often will have bugs on the most random thing. How did Wesker get bugged on an update that didn't touch Wesker? It's like "We updated Billy and 3 random killer perks...and it broke lockers".

I think this is the weirdest part for me too.
Nick Cage update had NOTHING to do with Pinhead and yet he had to be kill-switched because when he hooked survs the entire game crashed.

    Yes, I know.
You seem to not get the point here. BHVR said that as an excuse to avoid the question.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

I disagree that BHVR don't care if the players have a good experience. I believe that they do (in general, of course I can't speak for every single person who works there). But I would guess that most of the BHVR employees genuinely do care.

I think the problem is more linked to complacency due to lack of competition. Give credit to BHVR, they are the only game in town when it comes to good asymmetrical horror games, and they deserve the rewards they get from the hard work they put into it. But the lack of competition means that they really have no incentive to quickly fix things that are broken. People don't stop playing the game or spending money on it, even when there are game-breaking bugs. OP - you're a prime example of this based on what you said. If players were fleeing to another game in droves due to game-breaking bugs, I think things would be handled quite differently and with more urgency.

    @Readycent said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3766943#Comment_3766943

Adding into this, developers get way too much undue credit for how much control they have over the studio's business decisions. Let's get one thing straight: being a developer is a job title, let's not forget that.

The people ultimately making the decisions, with or without the input of technologists, is their business team: product owners, scrum masters, etc. Releases are often pressured and can't be delayed because of community backlash (ironically) and because the business team sees return on investment by delivering a minimum viable product rather than delaying a release entirely.

There's a lot of complexity involved in the software development industry and I think too many people on the outside looking in are giving way more heat to developers than they deserve. Yes, BHVR knows they're the coolest kid on the block, but that allows the *business team specifically* to make hasty decisions about passing bugs that would probably otherwise be showstoppers to a reasonable developer who cares about the critical reception of their updates.

    Good.
You guys seems to be reasonable people (and with that I mean you're not cursing me XD).
So let's make some "corrections"/notes about my original post. :)

-Actually I'm not playing the game since Lara's release since I work at night and when I woke up there was already a lot of info regarding the bugs. When I say that I still play this game is actually "I still didn't uninstalled and play one or two days a week to not get rusty".
-I tend to mistakenly use the word "devs" to blame the responsible people behind these issues, when in fact Cyberpunk 2077 showed us that the real culprits are, let's say, the financial department . Hope This is the last time I do this. :P
This is probably what is happening here. Chapters should indeed be delayed until this kind of crap is fixed.
-I too think that the lack of competition is another issue here. I was rooting for TMC success because of this exactly problem.

One of the things that Castlevania allways had is an incredible music, i really want to hear the chase music. I think it will be awesome.

I can't decide between him and Wesker.
Love these dudes A LOT. Will co main them.

  • It's like Wesker at launch.
He HAD to had STARS outfit as a skin from the start much like Dracula NEEDS his SoTN skin.

Capcom fall off far far way to bellow the ground… avoiding people from buying a caracter for shared account like yours…

But yeah, it's pretty similar, and now you mention it, when BHv talk about increasing the price, it's only on the plateform, in game, all character gonna remain to 500 auric cells … Technically

Yeah, but if the price for Auric goes up it would feel like the characters cost more than 500.

It does not. The Auric Cell purchases can only be made in-game. You can't buy them outside the game on the Steam store, where sales occur.

    @jamally093 said:

Does that work for in game currency? Kinda want to know since when cross progression hits I'm going to port over to my steam deck.

Honestly I don't know how this is going to work.
The only thing I can do is give a pratical example.

I share a PSN account with my brother. Account is primary in my PS5 and as secondary in his.
I play using my account and he play in this account. This way we can buy games and DLC in this account and we can both use the content at the same time and play together.
This is not for DbD, but to ANY game or DLC.

BUT this do not apply to microtransactions.
Microtransactions are both the in game currency and the content that is bought with it.
We recently bought Street Fighter 6 in this account and, of course, we can play together, but in this game specifically Capcom made ALL DLC (characters, stages, music, etc) only available through microtransactions (in game purchases).
If you open the DLC content for Street Fighter 6 in ANY platform you'll se that there's only packs for the paid in game currency. No characters or anything are there.
So he bought Akuma in this account and I don't have access to him and I bought Bison on mine and he also can't play as him unless he also buy him.

So my guess is that since Auric Cells is a in game currency of YOUR DbD account you should be able to, for example, buy them and the content that you want on Steam and play with this new bought content in another platform.

Yes, but depending of the situation the killer can be "unpunishable" for camping.

    @HolyDarky said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3738435#Comment_3738435

If Bubba was directly facecamping the survivor and the bar did not fill up, then maybe another survivor was around because the mechanic stops when a survivor is nearby/within the range. It could also be that the hooked survivor did not used the mechanic to unhook theirself. If Bubba was facecaming and no other survivor was nearby and the barwas not filling up then maybe this was a bug. It's difficult to say without seeing what actually happened in the match because it could be anything.

No, just increasing the range for these killers would be an easy but not a good solution.

Honestly I didn't thought about this too deep to find flaws.
Just as you said. It was the easiest solution I could come up without thinking too much.

    @Halloulle said:

I have the same gripe - but iirc Mandy has confirmed that the mechanic is, indeed, working exactly as intended and does exactly what the devs want it to do. For all I personally care, they should've called it Anti-BM-On-Hook mechanic cause that's what it effectively is.

    Thanks for replying. :)
It's indeed working as intended, but there's a lot of other stuff in the game that are too and we all know why these are an issue/are not effective as they should.

  • @HolyDarky said:

The feature is an Anti-FACE-Camp feature. If the bar didn't fill up the killer was out of range of the system. The system itself works as intended.

The actual issueis rather that some killers like bubba, Trickster, or Huntress miss a built-in Anti-Camp-feature like Singularity, Artist, or Dredge have (the killer can't use their power near the hook or gets punished for using it).

    Precisely.
    Anti-FACE-Camp.

Bubba was face camping the surv in the basement and it wasn't enough.

Also what you said about the projectile killers.
For these killers the range should be extended.

  • What do you mean by Mediocre?
I love Franklin. It adds ANOTHER objective for the survs I face besides using sprays and get rid of totens.
The existence of Weave Attunement only made it sweeter.

  • @Orionbash said:

This right here is why I keep saying over and over again that distortion is a bad perk.

Distortion is a plague in this game.
It's bad for both killer and survs.
For killers it's extremely stupid and boring to waste time finding survs that have no chase skills and want to be hiding the entire trial.
For survs it's even worse because these same Distortion users are not learning new skills to become better survs and also keep hiding even when they suppose to get hooks for their teammates that already have 2.

  • The thing is that using your brain to learn a new killer hurts too much, so people will do what they're used to instead: cry asking for a nerf.
EVERY TIME a new killer releases surv mais cry.

And don't get me wrong. If killers were the ones that were only models/didn't had unique abilities or survs also had distinct gameplay differences we would have killer mains crying for the exact same reason.

FFair Enough I still expect people to run 4 slow downs because why not but I enjoy running like 2 or 3 chase perks and would like to have som utility or aura perk instead of a slowdown

I always loved Plaything since I've started to play DbD and after I've discovered how well it combos with Pentimento… I went to heaven perk.
For some time I too switched to the Gen Slow Meta for some reason I still don't understand because recently I got tired of this crap and decided to run my beloved combo again and my win ratio went way higher.
This was like two months before D&D patch that nerfed gen slow perks even more.

  • @DredgeyEdgey said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3736167#Comment_3736167

Interesting mechanic but how would this work with perks like Overcharge and ruin ect

    Have no idea too XD.
The post went as far as suggesting this so killers would be less inclined to use too much gen regress perks.

  • A solution I came across these days would be every killer have an individual value for regression kick and the amout of charges the gen losts per second.
You get weak killers like Trapper or Freddy and give them (just gonna throw random number here) 10% on kicks + 0,5 charges per second lost, but stronger killers get lower values.

I don't see major cons into this except BHVR using their precious numbers to say "hey, Nurse has a very low kill rate, so she should have one of the highest values for the regression basekit".

  • I will just say this.
I love the fact Weave Attunement eat Distortion tokens. S2
In the two games I had it and there was a Distortion user I was able to see them.

  • Overlord.
This one is obvious, right? A Momonga/Ainz Ooal Gown Legendary Skin for Vecna.

  • I didn't read all comments here, so apologies of I say something that other person already did.

I've started to play without it after two points in all my DbD experience.
1-After trying the 0 perks and escape 8 times trophy.
2-After playing some matches on Chaos Shuffle

Only after the second I've decided/got confident to remove it 100% even in my solo queue matches.
It indeed helps A LOT for you to learn map structures and pallets placements, but I want to improve this even more now.
Learn "how" to look loops efficiently to spot pallets and windows. I did the same with Deja Vu too.
These two perks may make you too dependent of them and you could use another two perks that will indeed give your more value than something that can give you info that can be 90% memorize.
I'm still not using those two even after Vecna's map drops.

TL;DR: WoO is great to use in solo queues, but the longer you use it the worst may be to let go of it and you can use something better after learning the structures and spawns.

  • I think DEVS should remove the unhook attempts from first hook and the skill checks from the second stage completely.
Only way to self unhook would be the anti camp, Deliverance and that Sable perk.
This would also make the damn kids who try to kill themselves on each stage being unable to do so.
It would also be cool to be able to grab another bite on your lunch or answer your phone while in stage 2 XD (seriously).

I know this have an issue as well. You wouldn't be able to ######### on 2nd hook for the last surv to get the hatch, but this could be simply addressed by making possible to ######### only if other two survs are already dead.

BUT this is coming from someone (me) who hates anything luck-based.
Always surrendered when I played Yu-Gi-Oh! and my opponent was a Joey Weeler look a like.

  • I just can't help myself laughing when I see one of the poor bastards trying to clearly go around a loop they would be able to by using the BUG and find it's not possible anymore.
Today I was doing a gen while watching a Jake loop a Blight. In the second loop he disconnected. XD

A fellow mori enjoyer! I love how useful those Moris are, they feel more useful than the other offerings.

All it takes is one pallet save to potentially lose a match, so an offering to reduce that chance, even if it'd only on death hook, is SUPER useful so losing that is gonna hurt.

    EXACTLY that my Mori Brother.

I'm not in favor of anything that makes slugging for the 4k even easier. Especially when it bypasses game elements forcing sacrifices of 2 survivors. At the very least the slugged survivor should have the chance to crawl out a gate/hatch or use one of multiple recover perks. Basekit current yellow mori would be fine, but no "fast forward" ends to the match.

    Makes sense.
Good. We both agree the way they want to do this is terrible.

I will never be alright with the games coming to a forced end. Mori's are literally fine. I've been pretty upset about this specific thing all day tbh. Maybe its just my time.

Now we are two at least.

  • Another thing nobody asked for.
Please devs, we don't want this. :(
If I want a BP offering I would use one of the 3422 7th anniversary cake I have in my Wesker's inventory.

Will post the same solution I've posted in other threads here. It's basically Cypress Mori with a little tweak.

IF two survs are already dead, the third is in the floor or hooked and you down the 4th THEN you get a prompt to use it on the last surv. You and he/she are teleported to an area with no visual blocking, mori happens and then both survs die and the match ends.

  • I'm completely against it.
I bring Iri moris every match for it's functionality. Survs can't be pallet or flashlight rescued, sabotaged hooks don't matter and they can't use DS or something like Unbreakable+Flip Flop to avoid their doom after they are on death hook and kiss the floor.

  • I see a lot of good ideas like the cages, no perks, surv classes and killer power combos, but only having the 5 initials at launch made me lose the interest completely.
Will do like I did with RE4 Remake Mercenaries. Not touching it until Wesker is available.

  • @ays12151 said:

Yeah. Remove Bubba's Power near the hook and Survivors will just come before last a few seconds to unhook and Bubba won't be able to do anything. We can talk about nerfing his Power near the hooked Survivors, if Bubba would be very strong. Upcoming buffs don't make him very strong, just a little bit stronger. I completely dissagree with your statement.

They did a great job with Wesker in my opinion. These changes will decrease using his Power for Tunneling. They could give him a small buff in some way though. But, in my opinion it's very good.

Deathslinger buffs are very minor, but it's a buff and it's nice. He will lose less distance while reloading. It's a chapter, nit Midchapter Update, but still we'll receive many balancing changes.

Blight Iridescent Add-Ons were making him the best Killer in the game and that's good they will nerf these Add-Ons.

As a Wesker main I have to agree with these to the point of him not being a tunneling machine anymore (found out about this, like, a month or so ago), but I think they went too far with this nerf.
The real problem is the 50% infection after unhook. Making it be 1% is enough. Even with the Videoconference Device it would take something close to 40 seconds for the surv to become fully infected if Wesker hits him/her just as they're being unhooked.

  • Absolutely NOBODY asked for this.
I hope devs see these posts and decide to not go forward with it.

  • I'm pretty pissed off about this change.
    Nobody asked for it.
I bring Iri moris every match for it's functionality. Survs can't be pallet or flashlight rescued, sabotaged hooks don't matter and they can't use DS or something like Unbreakable+Flip Flop to avoid their doom after they are on death hook and kiss the floor.

It would be SO simple to implement a good Finisher Mori.

  • Same here about the roster.
2x8 is being asked for years now and when we finally get it it's only 5 original killers.
When this was announced 2x8 already died to me.
Much like RE4 Remake Mercenaries I'm not touching it until Wesker is added (my main)
Pretty sure Dracula (new co-main with Wesker) will not be in it either for a long time.

"But they are adding more killers as time passes"
Yeah, but when? Already waited years to play killer with a friend.

    Endurance doesn't stack.

Exhaustion prevents the use of other perks entirely.

Neither of these mechanics have a similar analogue for killer perks. It's even been proposed on this forum that maybe the devs should consider that a gen already regressing can't get hit by instant chunk regression a second time (surge, pain res, for example). That would be similar to exhaustion, but I'll emphasize that such a thing isn't currently in the game.

    Yep, it doesn't stack.

Picture this scenario: you find a injured survivor and you hit them, but Off The Record is still active and you have to hit him/her again for the down. You pick them up and they use Decisive Strike and now that deep wound is gone they can also use Dead Hard, so you basically have to hit a survivor FOUR TIMES to get a hook.
Now imagine that more than one surv use these perks in a match. There's a reason why survs can't use the same perk on tournaments.

I'm in favor of not allowing killers to have one more than 1 gen perk, but as long as survs can only use one 2nd chance perk and BHVR do something about how fast the damn gens are done.

There's no survivor strong perk combination that is even close to value and strength to a killer one.

    Nah, you're right.
I must be seeing things. There's no way a combination of perks would make the killer get a 2nd hook on a surv only after hitting them three times while they are injured.

"Wonder why" all killers stacking all these slowdowns? Because they're super strong and a easy way to win without even trying basically because the value is insane. Not because the gens are going fast. From super strong down to strong.

What about survs stacking 2nd chance perks?

As I said to pulser and someone else, these comments come from a place of "well if I can do it you can too." Which isn't true at all. Not everyone is at the same skill level and perform the same. Everyone has strengths and weakness when it comes to gaming. Just because you and pulser can win games with little to no slowdown means I can or someone else can. I don't believe everyone can achieve the same level of skill. There to many factors like physical and mental states, time, and overall mind set. Some of us don't eat, drink and breathe DBD. The avg player will most likely only play few hours and night or week.

Here the bestest issue and I will continue to say this, the MMR system doesn't not allows pair you up with similar skill players. In fact in my case MMR system barely works because 90% of my matches are completely stomps. Very rarely I get a match that feel good and fun.

Ultimately my issue with comments like yours is that they seem to come from a idea that everyone can achieve the same level of skill and play as you and I honestly believe that simply not true.

    Totally agree.
People have different talents/skills. Some are good in reading others. Another players have ninja-like reflexes and so on…
Assuming all people have the same skills is stupid to say the least.
Not anyone can live in DbD and/or maybe have some kind of issue that compensates for good game skills.

Also this is the second time I try to edit my comment and it simply vanishes.
Even DbD forums are infested with bugs.😂

vs extremely fast gens, he needs the tunneling infection to be relevant. his power has too much counter-play with pre-dropping pallets.

Take this game that D3AD plays vs a swf.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0x4rngJtfM

Without infection tunneling, there is no way you beat this SWF. Even with tunneling, he barely won.

AND while using a full gen regress build.
D3ad is pretty good, so to see him resorting to tunneling and using this build just shows how crappy Gen Rush is right now.
Doesn't make any sense nerfing the She Chicken Hook (Pain Res) and Pop.

4% is pretty significant. Wesker will still be high tier.

Yeah, but now that the infection is reseting to 1% after unhook I don't see the point even if I want to tunnel.
Better get use to the egg so I can get survs on loops easier.
