I said disappears 2 minutes into the match, not disappears for 2 minutes.
The point being that disappearing for 30 seconds can cause an almost upstoppable lead for the other side.
Not to mention that, for people who DO NOT return? Survivors were forced to wait 30 seconds before they were kicked & go right back into the queue. It's just another long wait, for them. All for those niche moments where someone returns in 30 seconds.
It's 30 seconds of getting points that you wouldn't have had, the only downside is 1 person would lose chase points but the other 3 survivors wouldn't be affected. Would 15 seconds be better for you? Just give the person some amount of time to reconnect. DBD is the only game that instantly kicks if my internet has a hicup.

Yes, because that's not playing the game.
If a Survivor sits in queue for 5+ minutes, then gets a Killer who disappears 2 minutes into the match, then gets disconnected 30 seconds later because they never returned; What did they get? Just a waste of time.
And if the Killer returns: Congrats; the Survivors now have a nearly insurmountable lead. Most Killers probably won't even return, or will stop trying, now that they can't win without a MASSIVE misplay by Survivors.
Again; if your internet is bad; You should not be playing an online game where the enjoyment of others hinges on you not disconnecting.
Why would the killer disappear for 2 min? I'm saying that as soon as the hicup happens you have 30 seconds to reconnect or the game ends like usual. How does this hurt anyone? If anything it helps survivors, If you've ever waited in a long ass queue and then had the killer DC maybe this would have prevented that. I don't get why you think 30 seconds is so outrageous when surv queues can reach 10+ minutes...

Bruh. If you know your net is spotty: You have a duty to your fellow players to NOT start a multiplayer game!
Why should 4 other people suffer through your disconnecting? Why should they have to wait to see if you come back?
So if the game had my killer stand there for up to 30 seconds giving me the opportunity to reconnect and survivors could keep getting points and doing their own thing you'd be against that? Some nights I can play for 4+ hours with zero issues. It's not like I'm on here asking for them to remove the DC penalty. I'd like a feature so that games don't end abruptly when they don't need to.

I hope not, nor for the survivors.
So if a survivor waits 10+ minutes for a game just to have their internet hicup at the start of a match you would be against, say a 30 second grace period for them to reconnect even if their character just stood there afk? Why?
-
I'm hyped, these look awesome

This might be a noob level question, but are you hardwired or on WiFi?
I recently moved (well, like 6 months ago), and have the best residential internet package available where I live, but was getting booted from (only DBD) matches on my PC which was connected via Wifi (because it was relatively far away from the modem/router), but that resolved after I ran ethernet to it.
Also in the past, I had a run of frequent DCs in DbD due to a bad cable, which abated when I replaced it.
I'm hardwired, the net just drops packets for 4-5 seconds randomly and they don't know why. New modem still does it. And just like with you, it's a dbd only issue. I never even notice the lag in other games and don't get booted from them.

i agree with BHVR, all thats going to happen is when a killer reconnects is go back to a game that's already over.
That may be the case depending on where the DC is during the match but I've had two DCs while carrying the last survivor to a hook and last night I had 8 hooks with 5 gens in when I Dced, I'd be completely fine if the survivors had it down to 1 gen if I was able to reconnect. I have also seen hundreds of survivors DC over the years and I'm sure a good portion of them were actual DCs and not rage quits. I'd have zero issues if the game gave them a chance to reconnect instead of screwing the other 3 survivors over for the rest of the match.

Not being able to play a game you bought feels crappy, but also reality doesn't conform to the way you feel it should just because.
Getting booted and then being allowed to re-join sounds simple, but there's a lot of variables there. How long will be you be DC'ed for? What is going on for the other four players while the game waits for you to re-join? Should they just be frozen? Where do you cut off the reconnection window? It might be consistent for you but not for others, and all that would have to be taken into account when implementing a solution, and if there isn't a consistency there, it's probably not feasible.
In order to justify assigning manpower to a problem, said problem has to be widespread enough to justify it.
The unfortunate reality is that if your internet is chronically unstable, you're probably just screwed here. Feels bad I'm sure, but this is simply the reality for a few unfortunate people. Might just need to accept it and move on.
It does suck, I have over 4k hours and every killer P3 lvl 50. I just moved a few weeks ago and my new internet has been acting up. They sent a tech out and it's still doing this. It's just annoying because it's the only game that actually kicks me when the hiccups happen and I wish I could just hop right back in the matches.

"devs are just lazy"
So, your incredibly specific, difficult to rectify, unpredictable situation requires devs to work tirelessly on a new feature, just because you say so?
LOLOLOL
I think you're just salty no ones sympathizing, and instead calling you out, as they should.
Again this is the only game I play that doesn't have a way to reconnect if your internet drops for a few seconds. People like you who would rather defend lazy companies than support improvements to the game are the problem. And there are people who wouldn't mind this, maybe read responses instead of being a useless ass.

Sure cause people love when there teammate randomly dc mid fight in other games even if you come back maybe we lost an important fight and the game is now a save lose.
Maybe you should try to fix your connection problem instead
Again how hard is it to read. The title even says KILLER. This thread has nothing to do with survivors. No one is going to be pissed if they have an extra 30 seconds to do gens while a killer reconnects.

Cool, so in one picked out example where it didn't make a difference.
Good argument for the general problematic with the premise.
I'm not DCing 30 seconds into games, these 5 second lag spikes that DC me happen mid to late game. People DCing on first down has nothing to do with my issue.

I know this is probably meant as sarcasm but yeah, nobody likes such games, neither killer nor survivor. Hence all the rant threads about DC upon first down and the like.
And more BP won't change that fact.
Last game I DCed with 8 hooks and 5 gens up, I don't think the survs were upset.

Not really. Knowingly going into every trial with the premise of potentially leaving 4 other players with a ######### round is kind of irresponsible and selfish, atleast in my eyes.
But that might just be me feeling that despite all online anonymity i have a little bit of responsibility to the other players i opt to play with when i ready up.
yeah I'm sure the survs are really upset when I dc when they are getting stomped and I brought streamers.

@Starrseed said:
I'm really sorry but as hard as this may sound with a connection so spotty you should stay away from online games.
lol DBD is the only game that I have issues with, what a weird ass thing to say

I am actually scared, I am about to finish getting P3, and all perks on all my Killers, and the last thing I saw was a comment by Peanuts on another thread they were looking into "reducing the grind". I am worried that it will be like the bubba masks where you put in a lot of work for something, and then getting very little reward. It will suck if we get no reward at all.
Kind of agree, I'm all for making the grind easier for newer players but as someone who just got all killers p3 lvl 50 I'd at least like a little something for putting so much time into the game and helping those survivor queues :)
-
Idk I just logged in and got it randomly. I'm guessing you have to get a merciless victory with her or something.
-
The devs only play survivor. They want to go home and start booning a totem 2 seconds after a match starts too.
-
MMR and Boons have been a huge negative for the game. IMO get rid of both of these and the game becomes 10x more healthy.

I had a TTV in my lobby when playing her today. I went and watched the footage and he was complaining the whole time that she was too OP and she needs a nerf. Yeah, if you sit on a gen just starting ahead and not looking around you are going to caught off guard (like they were doing). Don't blame me for your lack of situational awareness. I wasn't even playing well.
Yeah the amount of people who I catch on gens is staggering. I guess looking around is just too hard for survivors and she needs a massive nerf...
-
I run enduring, brutal and spirit fury on Freddy. The game is so nice when you're a pallet shredding machine.
-
-rep, killed my entire team when we just wanted to do gens and escape
-
There are an insane amount of afk killers dropping their mmr. Does anyone think that behavior will get the hint?
-
Are the hacker numbers dropping? Are they trying to get that number back up?
-
When SWFs change last second my game mysteriously crashes during the loading screen. It's so weird...
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Is this a "crash to Desktop" type crash or a "kicked me from the game" type of crash?
I guess I should say DC, it said one of the survivors DCed. I got points for the trial. Still got DC penalty.
-
I installed DBD through Xbox game pass just to see what a new killer would face. First 4 games were bully squads with all meta perks and best items with best addons. 4 dead hards, circle if healing, iron will, DS, at least 2 brand new parts etc. They were a chore for me and I consider myself a very skilled player. I can only imagine trying to even get one hook against these teams as a new player. If I played against that as a new player I'd either switch to survivor or insta uninstall.
-
She's fun to play but weak IMO, I am having a blast but I'm also a solid M1 killer. I can see people who aren't the best at using m1 killers not liking her.

Ok but maybe you know how to counter random invisibility? Or you are bad player too?
Nope, only one of us is on the forums crying about it.
-
Your last sentence is correct.
-
Devs please just admit that you're trying to slowly make every killer quit so the game becomes humans vs Ai
-
Welcome to the club, I have a 24 hr ban from being DCed like this every other match lately. Every other game/service is fine but DBD keeps dropping me. I have over 4k hours and the game thinks I just decided to start rage quiting?
-
I have a 24 hr timer right now because of internet going down for 5 seconds at a time randomly the last few days and for dbd going down. Not a single rage quit. Glad they are rightfully punishing me.
-
So you face camped the first person you downed and are bragging?
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
There was no additional new info regarding this type of issue since the last time they talked about it many weeks ago when people started to notice it (to my knowledge at least).
So in typical behavior fashion they hoped everyone would forget that it's still a major issue...
-
I'd rather endgame chat just stay blank. I don't care for toxicity, win or lose.

@[Deleted User] said:
I wait because i get more experience and i like to give the killer a hit for bloodpoints, but i avoid getting downed because that affects one of the emblems. I also wait to see if i can help other survivors in some way.
Just leave, it's annoying to have to force people like you to leave the game.
-
Some people just have to rub it in the killers face that they're escaping. It's really sad and just wastes everyone time because survivors want to see killers perks and have to wait for that 1 loser who spams tbag until there is 1 second left.
-
idk, every single game they stay until there are like 3 seconds left. The insane amount of time wasted because of survivors just taunting has to be in the hours...
-
MMR killed the game for me
-
What?
-
IMO yes because if you max a character out and then decide you want P3 you just wasted like 15 mil blood points. Might as well get P3 out if the way.
-
He needs to be nerfed further, I played against a billy the other day and he was able to one shot one of my teammates. We actually had to unhook someone against a killer and it made me angry!
-
They need to add several tiers of the sword like they have with every other killer addons. Brown can be .2, yellow is .25, green is .3
-
report them. They deserve a perma ban imo. so toxic
-
Trickster, I'll take a million basement Bubbas over tricksters. I'm still salty that he's even in the game.
-
Agreed, if I only have time for a few relaxing games then I don't even bother with this game anymore. I know I'm high mmr so it's either I have to sweat and the game isn't enjoyable or I just play casually and let the survivors bully me. There's no in-between anymore thanks to mmr.

What's your build then? I'm a bit curious.
Thanat, plaything, bbq and sloppy. Once you down someone and put a trap on they have to deal with hem, mangle, blind, oblivious and thanat. Has been a really fun build for me.
-
I like ruleset and facemask. I like to run it with debuff builds and make the survivors go crazy from having 5 debuffs.
-
I just roll my eyes and move on, the best way to really mess with toxic people in endgame chat is to not respond. They sit there for 5 minutes waiting for you to say something and then feel silly when it's just their childish spam in chat.
-
This is the TikTok generation with extremely short attention spans. They would want shorter matches if they could get them.
