🙃Why...So...Serious?🤪
-
Because they’re “Survivors,“ naturally.
If hook escapes weren’t a possibility in DBD they’d merely be referred to as “Dyers.“

So ... the Midwich design is cool in theory and sometimes something else, but it doesn't work. The second floor makes everything so much more complicated than it needs to be. I have often not been able to save Survivor because I couldn't find a way down or up or because the stairs were just too far away. The thing that works best on Midwich is to distance yourself from the killer. HOWEVER, it doesn't work with killers like Hag or Freddy either because they can simply teleport. You can also place the traps of the Hag or Freddy's puddles in the aisle and as a survivor you simply cannot avoid them.
So I think Midwich needs a rework. Maybe you should first consider taking out the second floor and then you can continue discussing. Because the game is simply not fun, especially not as a survivor. But I was told that as a killer, the map shouldn't always be great ... but as a survivor I can't confirm that. Maybe someone else knows something about it.
Be interesting to play Midwich completely opened up. There are a few breakable walls in the corners that open up additional routes to pass between floors, but it’s up to the killer to destroy them.
Maybs this blueprint will help you navigate the school better.

Not sure what the cause is.
Been happening heavily for the past 4 hours.
Unfortunate if the wait time is over 1min, but I’ve been getting into a lobby every 45 seconds or so... not too bad. Jus keep x’ing out the error message and readying-up... eventually I get a match.

NO!
Nurse and Nea are my bestie bests an I simply MUST hang out with them everyday!
EVERYDAY!!!

I played 5 games today, 3 out of them was only camping, tunneling and slugging with the match ending with less than 20k points for the killer and ~10ks for the survivors.
Why on earth are killers able to view the survivors profiles pre match but we survivors have to deal with those kind of killers and can only see the "warnings" written by others about their playstyle after the match?
Either hide profiles for everyone or lets survivors see the killers profile as well. Why are only killers allowed to lobby dodge by being able to see the items survivors bring or watching their steam profiles?
There’s EVERY reason for this to be implemented in DBD.
When I play killer, I do often check out who’s who amongst survivors. Likewise, as a survivor I sometimes check out profiles, especially to see what music, if any, players are into.
I’ve dodged lobby’s before on both sides, not frequently, but I’ve done it.
I know for a fact that Killers have OnlineID and profile dodged matches. I know people who do it regularly.
It could be considered a prime example of unbalance.
That a killer can see all 4 survivor players, yet survivors can’t see who’s playing killer gives the killer an advantage. Even if it’s only a comfortable feeling knowing they’ve played against certain players before and what their play style is, or what builds they usually use, it aids in preparation for a match, maybe switching perks, adding a mori, possibly providing a slight edge. Or, if a killer sees they are facing off with a person, people or group they don’t like, then they dodge.
Kinda does seem to be a killer sided advantage.
Some people want their cake all to themselves and don’t want to share... then they want everyone else’s cake too.
Interesting to see anyone not willing to accept the extending of the same courtesy to survivors.
I believe it’s only fair...
especially as balance is the prime objective.

I just want to clarify, if you’re on a totem, and survivor runs up behind you and spams come here and shakes their character side to side, here’s an idea for you. Give them the totem. They will probably have inner strength. So i mean if they’re healthy, they can help you. They can save you in the future. If you get my totem after i ask, i’ll be less inclined to get you.
Yeah, I get those in-game requests for survivors an give em the cleanse.
Same can go for chests as often I find ppl wanting to search as I’m searching, so I let them have at it... they almost always have Ace In The Hole.
That happened 3 weeks ago with a Quinten & he found a pink key & we got the hatch.

Yeah, totally! Halloween Returns was the best since the original 2 way back from 1978 & 1981.
Also H20 jus cause JLC was awesome in it!

Depends on the setting and circumstances, I suppose.

Aw sorry... jus got confirmation.
There was a dev stream earlier in the year where they announced that Trapper wouldn’t have to pick up his traps to reset them. I thought ppl were saying the new feature was players could jus press the button and the trap would appear where the red trap outline is w/o the animation happening of Trapper physically bending down and setting the trap. Kinda like insta trap-setting.
That would be super helpful tho!

Foolish mortals. I tire of these shenanigans. Do you believe broken bones can stop me, bereft of all blood remaining in this vessel? Did you think you could sacrifice me...TO MYSELF?
THIS WORLD COLLAPSES AT THE PULL OF A SINGLE LEVER. Then, and only then will you know the cold hard truth of this world.
There is only me, and not even death is an escape.
Yeppers!
...only ‘cause it’s my bestie, Nea
-
‘cause hook escape attempts are a thing, and probably always will be.
Unless they remove the penalty for escape attempts all together and only give the 3 attempts, the survivor still moves into the struggle phase... even the cages currently have that feature. Should that struggle mechanic or penalty be removed, survivors would jus be on the hook for 2min until unhooked or no rescue at which point they progress into the sacrifice animation.
If they feel so upset for whatever reasons and can’t “hook terminate” and then are rescued, they’ll probs jus stand there collecting crows, at which point you’ll get at most 2 hooks on them.
They’d probably DC before going through all that.

Of course he escaped on first attempt despite using an oily coil, but that's fine, would've let him go either way, but it was even funnier that he got out so fast.
These are the moments I like most about this game.
(Please don't mind my perk selection, I'm still leveling Trapper.)
Hilarious!
I’ve only ever seen 1 killer do this.
I imagine once the new “pre-set” traps appear in-game that more players will be more apt to handle scenarios like this.

🤪Lolz at Myers flossing on downed survivors!

Yikes! Wow, Some of these posts are jus silly, almost can’t even take them seriously.
-
2x BP events are fun for some reason.
Seems they bring more players in and wait times are faster.
Also the idea of loading up on cash and going on a shopping spree is uplifting!
At least monthly or bi-monthly would suffice, as so to not overdo it, keeping players coming in excited for 2xBP and not getting bored with those events.
-
Yeah, Ghostie’s pretty good; sneaking around matches all stealthily
Watch clips of Tru3Ta1ent playing him if you wanna see some of the highest potential GF has.
His stealth is more powerful than his insta down imo... Been playing for around 1900k hours or so an he still startles me when he creeps up like a shadow 😟

Doing so usually causes a feeding frenzy.
Jus scrolling through and perusing the 90k Discussion posts alone is evidence of all this.
-
I like OoO.
Don’t use it often tho, even tho I mostly go solo.
-
The end doesn’t really justify the means to the scenario you present.
The Ultimate Prestige reward is a fantastic notion that should have been implemented long ago. The option to reset ALLLL lvls back to 1 just to get that desired prize is waay too gnarly a decision to put on players.
Taking into consideration that some players only play one side, it would have to be a 3 part cosmetic reward... one Super Prestige (or whatevs “DBDish” title devs give it) either a universal cosmetic, interchangeable between any character on each side (similar to the 4th Ani Crowns) or an individual skin for every survivor character; then one individual skin designed for every killer; and finally, (for players who P3 50 all characters on both sides) one Ultimate Prestige universal cosmetic or individual skin for each character.
The anniversary crown esque reward seems more feasible as devs wouldn’t have to keep designing new Super/Ultra Prestige skins for each future killer/survivor to enter the game.
Not sure if or how much Behaviour has touched upon this topic, nevertheless I’d love to have Super and Ultimate Prestige cosmetics/skins rewarded to everyone for all our passionate effort we’ve put into maxing everyone out!

Freddys are often bringing Midwitch into matches... i guess ‘cause he always has a hankering for schools or sth?
A few times I’ve seen Jake an Kate looking cute together when he’s in his western wrangler gear and Kate wears her Tokyo headliner cowgirl hat and jeans, then Billy sees them in the lobby and brings Dead Dawg and wears his Rancher’s vest & hat and they all face off at the saloon... also love when Billy gets GasHaven map and he jus happens to have on his gas can outfit, that’s always funny ;D
-
Whilst gen’n with empathy, I’ve seen countless green/ purple ranks selfcare probably close to 90% before getting downed by killers with nurse’s.
I never use it... think it’s a silly, slow waste of a perk slot and everyone’s time, especially the person running the SC.
Too many red rank randoms bring it into matches, imo ;P
Rather use resilience and go get sth done.

@Mylildreams said:
Perk is useless as deja vu exists and maps and detective hunch. It brings nothing really new to the game.
What if the perk removed generator auras 1/2/3 from killers at the start of the game. Every time a gen popped the killer would get aura vision back of 1 gen.
Or
When generators are completed delays notification auras and sounds for 2/3/4 seconds
Secondary action if needed survivors can see aura of killer for 2 seconds within 8 meters of gen
Perfect!
That’s how it should have been designed. Devs are much more creative than they’ve let on by some of the shoddy perks that they seem to have jus hastily, possibly carelessly thrown together and tossed out there as another low end device to clutter up the inventory board and rarely be utilized in a player’s build.
-
Billy makes an appearance about once every 15-20 matches... usually someone bringing an ebony with infectious & the standard bbq looking to 4K in less than 3min.
Still not used to his chase music yet; it’s totally menacing, really cool upgrade though.

I main Survivor and I've been playing Nurse for almost 2 months non-stop. I went from rank 20 to rank 5 (can't pass rank 5, sadly), and almost all matches are painful, really stresfull. When I'm facing a solo team it's reasonably easy, but when I'm facing a swf and they understand I'm more than an average nurse, generators goes in the blink of an eye. I'm really questiong my capacity of playing her and I'm almost sure that, for me, it's not worth that pain.😥
A bit of both, tbh
moreso dedication than raw talent
It’s stressful. Nurse is the highest tier of difficulty. Everyone loses games, sometimes many consecutively. I sure have ;P
Jus wanna encourage you to not give up.
Swfs are a chore to face off against and could account for majority the neg and safety pipping, but it’s not always on you and your playing style. Sometimes you can do everything right and still somehow get setback. That’s what makes for the best learning experiences, when you press on through the pain and keep your eyes fixated on the victory.
...and we all kno the DBD universe could use more challenging Nurse players. You are skilled and dedicated enough to make that the reality, whatever rank you achieve.
Nevertheless, I’m confident there’s a Rank 1 inside you. Jus believe the passion and drive in your heart is greater than all the mental. And your doing it right by maining her for a few mths, maybs only playing jus one other killer along side her or jus switching back to survivor to rest up a bit. That’s helpful when it gets monotonous. It’s all repetition anyway.
You are more than enough. And whatevs you decide, at least you kno you got to put good time and effort in with the best killer on DBD!
-
Quite Interesting... especially The Creature concept art!
Love the perks too! Can’tBreakMe is great and DeepForest is crazy awesome! That would be waay disturbing to encounter as a survivor, especially when the killer is almost to the gate!
Well done

I spend 99% of my time playing survivor, so my killer rank has never gone beyond 19-20. I mainly just play for fun or when I have a daily ritual or something. I won't be destroying any red rank swf groups anytime soon, but I do ok. Tonight, I got a group of survivors that I could tell were fairly new... and I mean brand new... 3 out of 4 were opening up DBD for the first time new (I didn't know that until after the match). After 3 were dead, I found the 4th still working on generators when most would have been scouring the map trying to find hatch (which I had found and closed, eventually). After I downed her, it dawned on me. This baby Meg probably doesn't even know what a hatch is. So, I picked her up and walked over to the door and let her wiggle off but she was so scared that she immediately ran. I just stood there watching, as she frantically dropped pallets along the way, thinking I was after her. She ended up letting the timer run out, I'm guessing because she was too afraid to try to open the other door. Had I known they were brand new I probably would have gone easier on all of them tbh.
Sorry for the novel but I needed context for my question, which is - Does anyone else ever feel bad like that? Or do you take a more 'rip the band-aid off' approach?
Yeah, I would always jus drop ‘em, then open up the exit gate... pick them back up and walk all the way to the barrier so they can wiggle free n escape. This way they aren’t worried about anything, an maybs have a boost in morale for their next trial.
Everyone has their own playstyle tho.
Most experienced players on both sides can get a feel for each player’s skill level during the match.
Some show compassion, some don’t.
-
NOW YOU SEE ME:
You’ve mastered the magic of making a grand exit!
After being chased by the killer for a total of 60 seconds, Now You See Me activates. While in a chase press the active ability button to create a bright flash and a poof of smoke, stunning and blinding the killer for 3/4/5 seconds.
Causes the exposed status effect for 20 seconds.
2nd Perk I concocted for a magician survivor I hoped would accompany Clown to his very own circus realm map.
-
MAGICIAN’S ASSISTANT:
Every good magician needs a worthy assistant!
Press the active ability button while repairing a generator to make a clone assistant of yourself appear beside you in a poof of smoke! Clone does not progress generator while repairing. Upon being grabbed and carried off generator clone struggles. Once hooked, dropped, or successfully wiggling out of killer’s grasp the clone vanishes in a poof of smoke, stunning the killer for 5 seconds, and the generator that was being worked on receives a progression bonus of 10%/15%/20%.
This is the 3rd perk for a magician survivor I dreamt up that was part of Clown’s traveling circus.
Could coincide with the new husks being implemented.
-
STUBBORN WOOD:
Some wood just refuses to break!
Receive a token every time you cleanse a totem for a max up to 5 tokens.
When in a chase, use the active ability button to throw down a pallet and activate Stubborn Wood on that pallet. Pallets dropped using Stubborn Wood perk are rendered unbreakable for a duration of 10/15/20 seconds or until the Killer attempts to break the pallet. Killers attempting to break the pallet are stunned for a duration of 3 seconds.
Getting hit by a Killer’s basic attack causes you to lose a token.

Is this reportable/bannable?
Just had a game where a wraith was afk until all gens were done then killed everyone in end game. He was using bbq, bloodwarden, NOED, and Rancor.
Suffered through those useless matches as a survivor at least 20 times. Only twice were they using NOED, and they were green rank Wraiths every time.
If you’re not swfing those games can be in the top 10 worst matches to play.
If you’re a red rank you’re almost certain to lose a pip when Killers choose that play style.
Usually randoms either don’t know what he’s doing or don’t care, and they crank out 5 gens with a quickness and escape.
I’ve found maybs the best way to play into that scenario is to complete 4 gens, 99 the other 3, cleanse the 5 totems, crack open the chests, finish the last gen and 99 the gates. If you feel like going on a “find the cloaked Wraith” mission that’s up to you. He’s forced to either stay in the trial until egc begins or DC. Should you find him, he may uncloak and offer a chase so you can gain additional BPs. The longer you stay in the trial the greater the chance of you 0 pipping or safety pipping.
Nevertheless, you and your fellow survivors have to all be on the same page with that tactic. Best when it happens to a swf, otherwise the randoms will finish the trial in close to 5min.
Either way, the Wraith negative pips, having wasted everyone’s time XP

I can’t come up with a name of the perks so I numbered them instead.
Survivor Perks
1–
Carry (1) magic glue that can be applied to windows and pallets which slows down the killer after vaulting or breaking a glued pallet or window for 3 seconds.
2-
Getting chased by the killer for a total of 120 seconds without getting a hit increases your repair speed by 100% for a total of 30 seconds.
3-
After succeeding 3 consecutive great skill checks, removes the exhaustion status effect.
———
Killer Perks
1-
While carrying a survivor, survivors repair speed is reduced by 60%.
2-
After Successfully using your power to injure a survivor 3 times. The next basic attack hit has no cool down.
3-
Downing 2 survivrors within the first 120 seconds of the trial increases charge speed of your power by 30% for 120 seconds.
Pretty good perk ideas!
Lolz on that magic glue XD
That one’s my fav, Love it!

I was just thinking about those new perks and in particular Hex: Undying and the lesser used Hexes. Normally I wouldn’t run Lullaby, but mixed with Undying, it might be more viable.
My question to the survivor side of the community is, does Lullaby ever hinder you? An if so, how many tokens before you feel any pressure. Does only 5 tokens (no sound) get you?
I play as a red rank killer and I’m afraid this might be one of those perks that the average red rank survivor might not even acknowledge because they are just skilled enough to play regardless.
Lullaby on its own only tends to catche me off guard with the “5 o’clock” skillcheck.
Lullaby w monitor, unnerving presence and reverse skillchecks can become a chore for survivors to hit their SC consistently.
Have to use Doc to get all that going on tho

What benefit for the survivor would there be if they could break the wall? Also it has a lengthy cooldown. It would be wasted to use it for breakable walls.
To buff it i would say give it the ability to see the auras of dropped unbroken pallets.
The newly added wall of the garage entrance to the downstairs of the ranch style house on the Badham update.
It would be beneficial for survivors to be able to break that particular wall and possibly others that could be added which cut off decent loops.
Hawkins would become like a prison if they left any potentially newly added breakables solely up to the killer to remove.
jus imo

Mostly killers w smaller blades/ weapons seem to land exaggerated hits...
Freddy
Legion
Clown
etc.
idk why

Yeah, the entity’s sacrifice effect on 3rd hook sounds cool, but it’s SO loud!
I understand that it’s possible they added this feature and intensified the volume on the effect to give the killer more cover from survivors picking up their terror radius or movement/ breathing (stealth killer) sounds after the sacrifice, but it’s just sooo crazy loud, kinda unbearable imo ;P
-
Haven’t ever seen a Nurse main camp anyone w her.
Never been camped by a Nurse, either.
I have had a Rank 1 Nurse proxy while I was hooked, but only bc all gens were completed and she hooked me near one of the exit gates... that’s totally understandable tho.

As mentioned in a previous thread, I noticed the tome didn't take me so far in the rift. So I decided to compare the previous rifts, where they actually adjusted the economy in a positive manner, with the one we have now. Apparently BHVR have re-adjusted the values and now we have have less challenges than we had in both tome II and III. So far they have removed 2 common and 2 master challenges from each each web. Se the comparison below.
Now, BHVR is obviously free to make their own choices with their business model. But what grinds my gears is the fact that they (to my knowledge at least) didn't communicate this change to their player base. If my previous experience with the rift showed me that I could reach level 70 with X amount of effort, I would probably buy the rift pass again, confident I could make it in time. But because of the fact that BHVR changed the playing field, I may very well find myself not being able to make the rift in time and cash in some extra $ to reach the last few levels. This doesn't sit right with me and I tend to stay away from companies that employ these methods.
I hope that I'm completely off with this so feel free to add insights that may change my mind. Also, if anyone has a print screen of the upcoming levels of tome IV, please send it to me so I can add it to the roster.
PREVIOUS TOME (III)
Level 1: 13 common and 11 rare challenges = 94 fragments (+10 for completion)
Level 2: 13 common and 11 rare challenges = 89 fragments (+10 for completion)
Level 3: 13 common and 11 rare challenges = 89 fragments (+10 for completion)
Level 4: 12 common and 12 rare challenges = 96 fragments (+10 for completion)
CURRENT TOME (IV)
Level 1: 11 common and 9 rare challenges = 78 fragments (+10 for completion)
Level 2: 11 common and 9 rare challenges = 78 fragments (+10 for completion)
Level 3: ?
Level 4: ?
Brilliant observation!
I increase my daily hours played during each tome release so I can reach lvl 70 as fast as possible. I‘ve been playing DBD even more this tome than in previous tomes and noticed the drastic, sluggish difference in progression thru the rift.
When doing the same thing for hours upon hours daily, it’s quite easy to notice when sths out of the ordinary.
Whatever the reasoning or cause for all this, it’s certainly upsetting...
especially IF it was intentional and measures weren’t taken to inform those most important to Behaviour
...their player base.
Well done, stay perceptive!

Grace Period -Whenever your aura is shown to the killer it will fade in and out. “We’ll improvise; we’re pretty good at that.”-Sam Winchester
Rocksalt -For every survivor dead or hooked in the trial, gain 1/2/3% haste, altruism and vault speed
Do you have any ideas for this chapter?
