  • I'd say only yes only if I kept getting the same killer over and over again.

  • I had a no mother variant on crotus Penn asylum. It was just was 1 survivor that had it but I ended up slugging them everytime they got themselves up. Followed them pretty much all match but God it was satisfying. The others tried to help but it was too late.

  • Ps4 player here, I actually feel like every third game I play I usually have 1 to 2 psn players. It's usually when I play killer though, and barely get any messages but so far its even with trash talk or actual ggs.

The Wendigos in Until Dawn are blind (or rather, their sight is based on movement) whereas the werewolves in the Quarry are not.

You wouldn't be able to have an accurate Wendigo killer given how their hard counter would be to not move (which is indeed what the survivors in UD do).

"But both types of monsters are alike in some ways so it really wouldn't be that different."

I know they are blind, other than that they are pretty much the same, fast and agile, long limbs, sharp teeth, and they kinda have similar looks. Anyway I'm sure it wouldn't work as the only way I'd want the killer is if they could leap and if they leapt against a tree or something they then would hang on and you can pounce from the tree.

  • Move on, both killers and survivors got buffs and nerfs and it focused perks that were mostly meta. I don't think you should rely on not being heard to win chases or the game period. I think they need to add more volume settings so I can lower killer sounds making survivor sounds easier to hear, if that was in the game I think IW might be more accepted.

  • Keep grabs, if they are gone you'll probably just have swf bomb the hook everytime someone is hooked. The perk changes are meant to deal with camping and tunneling not getting rid of grabs, as someone said grabs are very finicky for killers to actually get and favors survivors WAY more. I'm sure I've only gotten maybe between 10 to 20 grabs total out of 2 and some years. As survivor you really shouldn't unhook if the killer is camping, at that point just hurry and finish the game as to not waste the person on hook time. As devs said kill rates are a bit low so I don't see why people still want to nerf killers, maybe they want better buffs for killers? 🤔

  • Honestly I'd prefer until dawn instead. Loved the quarry just felt unfinished a bit. But both types of monsters are alike in some ways so it really wouldn't be that different.

  • I think it will be good change, especially with basekit bt and perk changes happening too.

  • All I'll say is why pair botany knowledge and self care when you can use the healing boon instead for a way faster heal, this is what I worry about. and IW imo was a good nerf as crouching helps muffle grunts which more likely would work good enough. Also isn't lucky break getting buffed and it does what Iron will does AND hides your blood pools so maybe instead of focusing on certain perks we wait until the ptb comes out. On the topic tho I do find it weird buffing bt when it will be basekit. I'm happy that I can replace bt with kindred now tho

  • As a killer main I would like to at least try it but knowing he has add ons to give mangled and broken could cause issues with thank so idk. I'm on the fence with this one

  • I agree change swamps. 10/10 second least favorite map as both survivor and killer. And I haven't played dredge on swamp but if what @DeliciousFood is true I would want a few more lockers added considering maps like the game or midwich who hare pretty packed with lockers.

  • Honestly if it means weaker killers could get some buffs I wouldn't mind a nurse nerf, if not though I really don't want her touched as I don't face her a lot and I find the games fun. Also dead hard isn't the only perk being reworked, killer perks also are being changed so I don't see that a valid reason to nerf her.

  • Thanks everyone, I didn't know that about Amanda, it was during endgame that the helmet was put on. Much appreciated ❤

Console players who cannot use M&K would be at a disadvantage against those who can. Playing against PC is the same thing, but since that's already a feature, there's no room for pushback against it.

Here's what changes: Killers that were previously bad picks for console become used more frequently. Previously impossible techs are now possible. It's easier for survivors to run tight loops. Easier for survivors to 360. Every game feels like you're versing PC. The game becomes less fun.

Console players who have been using a controller across several console generations now feel like they're being punished for not using M&K.

Can't turn off crossplay because turning it off means you can only be matched with players on the same platform who also have it turned off.

I believe I've answered your question thoroughly enough. So, once again, those for M&K support should just buy a PC. The issue of key bindings can be solved by letting us choose the binding for each individual action and interaction.

But console has a disadvantage in that regard towards PC too so I don't see how giving that access to console players is unfair when it's available to ALL console players. I'd also like to know what impossible techs are done on console with m&k that cause issues since everything else you said happens with PC players.

  • During the event I'm trying to have the mentality of just 8 hooks as killer. I'm more worried about how many we need than the sweaty players, as it just seems bigger than the last 3 to me. Also off topic but is there a blight head cosmetic for the weapon and body we just got for the community challenges? Cuz the one we just got change his face/head and I kinda want a whole set idk 2 piece things like artists Chinese zodiac outfit are not as cool to me.

  • Honestly I find lithe more annoying than SB as you can pair lithe with dance with me and have no scratch marks for that dash. Honestly sb sucks cuz you could do overcome and lucky break as well to get the kinda same effect although now your injured.

    @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Why only SB? Lithe is also good perk. I can see some people will use Head On builds too. Even Overcome can be useful on some builds. BL is pretty bad tho.

BL huh you see powerhit or whatever it's called used more than BL? It's the perk where you get a speed boost after stunning the killer with a pallet. I haven't seen that perk for months but I can at least remember a BL in the last month lol so I consider that perk the worse exhaustion perk.

It'd provide an advantage over those who aren't MnK. Many console users don't have room for a MnK setup. Console doesn't need support for MnK, and those who want it should just buy a PC.

Ah yes console advantage against console advantage is a perfectly valid reason to not ask about m&k for consoles when crossplay is a thing. I'd want support purely for more buttons to use, as I'd like to be able to heal a downed survivor without pulling a pallet down and there's only so many buttons on a controller vs a mouse and keyboard. Also if they do attempt it hope they do it how fortnite did theirs, it's really well done.

So, author's topic begins: "Tell me how to hate Killer without telling me how to hate Killer".

Why do I have to hate killer just for using a perk?

And why you come here lecturing me? I just replied him with the same words he used

He still had a topic, you literally just complained with no information added. I'm guessing your a perfect survivor main right? Well maybe not because even survivor mains could add information about perks they could use, continuing the conversation and topic. Do you understand how I've added context instead of just calling you out or names to be a jerk? Have a nice day <3

  • @Gamall said:

Tell me you are a whining KM without telling me you are a whining KM

If you don't wanna progress the actual topic mind not posting hurtful things to others? And as others said only time will tell, plus I believe this is just the first batch of perks being touched as there are still perks that should be changed, like the wraith one that does something with scratch marks but it sucks. I'd love huntress perks touched too.

  • As others said there wasn't a mask for my main. Hoping they continue this next year and my main gets a mask. I'm happy with the huntress one but would love a plague mask as she was my first bought killer, and for survivor I want Felix (coughs in simp) for ugh reasons.

  • Much appreciation to all who was worried and to devs for hearing us out and help make it possible. 👍❤

We might get the Dredge one, and that'll be at the tail end of the event. We'll cap out somewhere on Drop or Chop at best, as that one feels like it's going to take the longest.

Just his body, I'm 80% sure he has a head cosmetic that had a crown type hat and I want the full outfit. I'd rather have none of them if I can't get them all and I don't want that to sound to rudely but it's just how I am. I hope something changes

  • @StarLost said:

Prank, an experiment of some sort...I'm not sure.

The devs have access to stats that we don't, so it would be bizarre for them to balance them in the way they have deliberately, if they want them to be something we can actually get.

You can clearly see how the first objective got a healthy burst initially, and is now barely moving.

Hell, I did a bit of napkin math, and even working in the way I'd hoped (everyone can contribute infinitely), we'd struggle to finish the first page.

We'll have to see what happens, because this is really, really silly.

I did, it was going smoothly but like others stated you'd need 750,000 individual players to do it and steam bas around 90k so idk

  • @TheMadCat said:

I like Haddie's top and I'd like to get the whole outfit for my Dredgie boi... T_T

I wanted the dredge's outfit since I main killer and I thought it looked better than his doll skin. I'm hoping something changes I just think changing something quick can make it still feel like we earned them.

  • Guess no dredge or haddie outfit 🤔

  • This thread is way to hopeful about the community challenges.

    @Triplehoo said:

Whats the problem? Do your part and then let it run in the background and do other rifts. Collect community rift, profit.

You realize with how it's set up 750,000 individual players have to complete the 40 skills checks/break gen and from what I've heard there's only about 90k active players on steam. I'm on ps4 but idk how many are there so as OP said these aren't looking good.

  • This topic has been talked about pretty much for the last 24 hours and I'm sure it will continue so I genuinely hope they try and adjust something, preferably soon so we can still achieve it without them need to give it to us or some sort cuz if this is a prank, bad taste and to do it on an anniversary event is worse.

  • What I find even worse/sad is there's barely any communication. The mods themselves have mixed up the info making things confusing for us and they haven't tried assuring us or anything, especially since there like 3 or 4 threads about the community challenges.

  • @Stiel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3004492#Comment_3004492

Then thats even worse.. if we've all been contributing this entire time and we only have 7.3 mil.. we'll never get it done

We haven't, Mandy has confirmed what peanits said isn't true. We cannot contribute more once you have completed it.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

This sucks. I was really excited about that Dredge cosmetic. The weapon part is useless on its own.

I am so disappointed that they created a community challenge that can't be completed. That's beyond disheartening. I've never seen game devs do that to their playerbase before.

I also wanted dthe dredge outfit, I already have his weapon part. I like it better than his doll cosmetic so it's beyond sad. First anniversary event I've been able to play in and there is a lot of dissapointment.

    I think it's for later.

But there's something I don't understand. After doing it 40 times, does the skill check/kick count anymore? Because 40 times only for each individual... I'm quite unsure.

Mandy has confirmed that once you do your 40, no more will be contributed.

  • @Araphex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3004520#Comment_3004520

Petition. The event ends in 19 days making this clearly impossible.

20? Isn't it 12 days left? I certainly hope the devs do something, I get freebies shouldn't be handed to us but they made those cosmetics available during this event to get for free so I doubt they wouldn't want people to get them. It would be like teasing an animal with a treat and not giving it to them. Inhuman

  • So I guess petition to have the challenges reduced a bit? Or to let us contribute more towards the goal.

  • @Hex_Llama said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3004268#Comment_3004268

The point of a community challenge is to feel good when everyone contributes toward the same goal -- if it weren't dependent on other people, it wouldn't be "community" -- it would just be a personal challenge.

In this case, I also think they're trying to pace it so that a handful of the most active players can't just buzz through the challenge alone in the first few hours, which also makes sense to me.

I'm sure it'll work out okay.

You cant contribute more after you finish it though, Mandy confirmed that in a different thread. My concern is they made the number really high and once your done you can't contribute more so you literally have to hope others will do it. And sure it feels good to do community challenges but you think the community will be thankful to each other if the goal isn't met? Just asking for virtual fights.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3004021#Comment_3004021

I mean it doesn't matter because realistically there probably aren't going to be enough people with the challenge equipped to get these goals done in a reasonable amount of time. Especially after people complete their personal goal, since the game doesn't make it crystal clear that you can keep contributing after you do your personal goal. This is assuming that the second page has more community challenges, though. But then again, there's also the possibility that all the community challenges are only on the first page so when we do move on to the 2nd, that's just another barrier to entry for these challenges.

I hate the implementation so much. I don't know how this got through to live.

In a different thread Mandy said after doing your 40 personal you don't contribute towards it anymore so don't waste time on that challenege

  • @TatsuiChiyo said:

Eh, I think the only issue is that you have to pick the challenge to contribute instead of it being kept track of in the background. Ive already done all the event challenges and moved back to the rift, I use these events to speed level. Last year I got all Survivor oerks on my Kate, this year I wanna finisg getting all Killer perks on Wraith and Dredge and than move on to Clown and Leatherface

Mandy on a different post said we don't contribute towards it after finishing, your wasting time for other challenges. And riot.

  • Honestly the fact the we can't contribute more is kinda sad. So others that have finished and hoping for people to help towards the goal can't do anything but watch. Definitely brings the enjoyment down on the event for me, and not meaning I need the skin now and want it free but why can't I still help progress towards it now that I'm finished with the personal part of the challenge.

  • I got all my rewards from tome 4 so I'll be trying to grind the community challenges. Any perks recommended for survivor to help get skill checks?

  • @thenegativone said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002549#Comment_3002549

Needing to keep it selected after your personal is done makes no sense. Everyone will be doing either the challenges at the bottom or tome 4 challenges.

I'm unsure of this but doesn't tome 4 last for a month still? While the event is for 2 weeks, plus I believe the rift points go towards this rift pass so you get progress towards both. I know I'll be farming as killer breaking gens because I want the dredge outfit.

I second this idea... although I don't know what his could even look like.

Same, in fact I've never read his lore either lol I just remember when he came out I was like "he's my type, imma simp for this man". I'd be happy with a David mask too.

  • I also agree, it feels like a treasure hunt in a way and you don't wanna just run around all game. Also on the note of next year, I'm hoping for a Felix mask as he's my survivor main.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

I can only confirm it doesnt count unless you have it selected. But good to know it can go over that 40 otherwise it would take ages to get them all.

I recommend finishing personal challenges first, they arent hard and then select community challenge so it keeps counting

I honestly just do enough to get the cosmetic for dredge, as I'm a killer main and didn't like haddies perks. I think next I'll try getting someone to farm gen kicks with me.

  • @PeachyPig said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002646#Comment_3002646

Thanks for the response, but that wasn't really my question. Im asking if I lose the perks I have since I never prestiged anyone.

I believe when the rework happens, you won't lose any perks or items and just as Butternubs69 said, anyone prestiged will have their perks unlocked for everyone else. And after the rework if you prestige you won't lose your perks and items like it is now.

  • One question I have is what skill checks count towards it? Say a killer has overcharge (the doctor perk that after kicking you have a small skill check) and he keeps kicking and you go back and do the skill check would that count? If so then I'd start farming with killer, probably wraith with his add ons that make him kick quicker.

  • Also appreciate the players that are taking their time, and helping others achieve the rewards. And of course to the devs, this is my first anniversary event and I love it.

  • When finished as long as you keep it active you still make progress towards it. I believe it has to be selected. I also assume the community goal needs to be achieved to continue.

I cycle between anyone that's P3 50, excluding Spirit who I got there to prove a point. Everyone with any work put into them except Hag (who I'm working on currently) has every perk up to Sadako unlocked at T3, with Sadako herself having every perk in the game unlocked at T3.

I enjoy killer, which is why you see me give feedback on it far less, because solo survivor is an eternal hellscape that needs addressing alongside top-end killer gameplay.

Yeah I definitely agree about solo survivor, the archives I feel don't help solo que either with some challenges. I really like those icons tho, hope you get a dredge one soon lol. Props to all the work you've put in those killers, especially sadako. 👏 I had done that but now I'm just prestiging the killers I want perks for everyone else, and it was a stupid idea on my part 😅🥲

  • @KajdanKi said:

We can talk about killers in same way.

Its very frustrating to go against killer who olays like trash whole match, looping him like a baby just to die on very first hook when gate is open due to NOED and facecamping noob.

If you know you encounter dh each match why dont u use perks giving exhaust debuff???

As others said not many perks provide a good exhaustion effect and most killers don't have exhaustion add ons. Also this feels very us vs them which I think isn't needed. Contribute to the actual topic, if you have something else to say make your own topic.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2743654#Comment_2743654

I’m not, I have 2k hours in the game. I’ve just seen plenty of matches where good killers have baited a dh and forced survs to use it early, dh into a corner, etc. Especially on killers like demo, huntress, or death slinger. I take back saying it’s pretty easy, I guess it isn’t, but it’s possible and decent killers have done it fairly well in my time playing. Plenty of times dead hards don’t even help and you get downed two seconds later. It’s happened to the best dbd players. Even after it’s been fixed it doesn’t work all the time. But even if we say it’s impossible to bat it out and you can’t counter it no matter what, sb can still extend a chase in the same tile and do the same thing when timed right. It takes more skill, but it’s still possible and thats ACTUALLY easier when you get the hang of it. If you’ve ran from the beginning and have it 99ed either from touching a gen at half way, running, and then finishing it before you have it, or walking to get it back before constantly running, etc, you basically have a dead hard at that point. If you have just a moment of distance you can easily use it to get an extra loop. Just keep running and spinning around so you keep it active until the killer is close enough to want to swing. I’ve done it before when prestiging and not having dh available. I’m not saying dead hard is completely fair and not broken at all, I’m just saying I think it gets a worse rep than sprint burst just because of the limit of when it can be used. It’s only used when you’re vulnerable so killers feel more entitled to the hit. Not in a bad way, I can understand it being a well deserved down and I’d feel entitled to it too if I played killer more. But a sprint burst play can do the exact same thing. Especially if the loop you’re at is better than one you could run to. It might be a wait of distance from sb, but it’s def possible to use it to extend chase in tile.

I think if dead hard got nerfed, we would just see the same similar plays with sb. No negativity or bitterness was in my response, I’ve just played long enough to know that even if dh is broken and gets nerfed survivors would just adapt to the same plays with sb. You said if you ######### up you get hit, but if you’re already injured and have sprint burst ready, you’re probably fine if you’ve got good timing on it.

Which requires paying attention to your exhaustion and then holding your sprint until needed, dead hard is a button at any time, and you don't have to let go of sprint to make it active. I won't have an issue with sb especially since my favorite killer to play is huntress, and I know sb won't make my hatchet hit not register like dead hard does. Literally hatchet hits, disappears, I literally see blood and have the sound effect but dead hard saved them.
