that nice but this needs a fix or something or were never get new player to stay.

Oh I 100% agree! I mean I am a old player and am taking a break now from the game because I am hoping the high skilled high ranked players rank themselves out of my matches. I know they say rank doesnt matter but it does because it shows the person plays a lot in the very least and has basic knowledge or at least more knowledge then the rank 20 possibly.

Working as intended. Clearly that Rank 1 players MMR is close in ranking to the brand new Rank 20s duh.

Rofl I hope you were kidding but yeah clearly that rank 1 is just as bad as someone that bought the game. rofl

I do not understand this matchmaking currently and I am depipping like crazy because I cannot do anything but try to save these poor new players and have no time for gens or anything. The funniest part is these Rank 1 killers also camp and tunnel which made me laugh. I would try to go save the new player and bam killer is camping just far enough so kindred did not see but standing there watching us. That was when I decided time to take a break and play other non broken games. =)

I play the game casually myself, and for the most part playing as Killer has been mostly positive. I just need to be paired up with either more experienced teammates, or less experienced killers when playing as survivor.

I used a killer I am normally good with and only killed one and could not down anyone else. I was like ######### and so tried a brand new killer to me and was even worst. I was like well time to take a break and wait for this to balance out maybe. lol

On survivor side I agree I need to paired up with players around my skill or better but currently I am getting matches like this and yes I am Rank 13 but I depiped because I babysat so much I could not get enough points.

there is no way to tell as someone who took some time off could be a rank 20 now due to rank reset. yes RANK doesn't mean anything... they flat out said any potato with enough games can be rank 1. it means nothing.

Not true because a Potato killer cannot become Rank 1 without trying. If that is true I could pick any killer and go sit in the basement being a potato and get to rank 1. Rank means in the very least you have played and learned something. You may be right about rank on survivor because people can get carried but Rank on killer does mean something. It means they knew how to loop and win chases and how to pressure and other things.

  • @NekoGamerX said:

    rip new players.

i hope it starts working right because when your play killer and you feel bad for winning something wrong

same with survivor if you get out with your 3 other teammate and then feel bad something wrong.

Oh I know that feeling. I hate when we are all at the gate and I can tell the killer is new and I may have made them hate playing killer now. I have let a few kill me just for the feeling they did good.

  • I have had the same problem and been playing a ton. I have been doing survivor because I tried a few rounds as killer and got survivors who pretty much used me to get free points because they knew they could outplay me.

Then I play survivor and I am not horrible but not great. I would say I am an average player who has those great plays or some oops I am dumb moments.

The problem I am seeing is this MMR system ranks EACH KILLER and not the PLAYER. This means yes the killer is a Rank 1 player, which now mean nothing from what the article says, but they have never used DeathSlinger so the MMR on this killer for them is 0. Then when this Rank 1 player picks DeathSlinger they get matched with fellow survivors of the same MMR rank which can be low knowledge to no knowledge new players.

They need to put the players OVERALL knowledge into the game and yes that Rank 1 player may never has used Freddy but they know how to play the game better than I do with all my perks. I have had 5 games with Rank 1 killers who stomp us so hard because I have to keep babysitting these new Rank 20 players and I manage to maybe get one gen done and the game is over.

The best part is there is no way these killers can't tell they are playing new palyers based on the way they play and yet they still try so hard and even tunnel. I may actually take a break from the game for a bit and let this system move the higher rank players up like it says it is suppose to.

Goodluck to you both and I hope you have better luck. =)

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

No, they should not because despite being similar, they all play differently. I'm a great Deathslinger but garbage with Huntress so how would it be fair if I got high skilled players if I play Huntress now. So no, they should not link because each killer has their own strength and weaknesses.

I agree you should not be paired with super high ranked survivors but they should also put into consideration your knowledge as a killer so when you pick Huntress you also do not get newbs. It seems like since the new MMR system is PER killer that if a Rank 1 player is OP with Billy but never used Wraith then the MMR with Wraith is gonna be 0 and be matched that way giving the killer the edge because yes he may suck with the Wraiths abilities but their overall knowledge of the game should be enough. Then this killer gets paired with fellow Survivors at MMR 0 which is either from what I am seeing new players or ones still learning and the killer stomps them to the ground.

They should look and see that yes this Rank 1 killers MMR with Billy is SUPER HIGH and yes it is 0 with Wraith so lets give this killer a average player but not newbs. A high rank killer could stomps new players using just M1 with their knowledge of chasing and looping that the new players do not have.

Overall yes I like what the new system is about but it still needs work because I am still seeing Rank 1 players using a first time killer and getting paired up with 3 Gray rank players.

  • @KiPi

    Bad Rank.jpg

This is after 20 to 30 games since the new system and still getting Rank 1 killers just sweeping games. My last 3 games all have been less than 5 minutes because the killer just eats these new players.

I do know that it is still early but Rank 1 people normally are rank 1 because they not only are good buy play enough to stay Ranked. I really hope they put into account the killers highest MMR on their most used killer or else this could be the new norm. The Rank 1 killer picks a killer they never used like Pig and then get matched with players like this because their MMR with Pig is the lowest and the do not look at the higher MMR of the other characters. I keep looking at the article and even what you said and you both are right they Rank your MMR PER killer and it looks like they do not look at your overall MMR so getting high ranked players using a new killer down here with us little people.

I am gonna continue to try and give it time but so far after my many many games I am still getting matched with killers who clear the game or when I play killer survivors who make me the prey. lol

I really hope you are right but at the moment I may switch to another game while these higher rank players finally get placed where they belong because I am tired of trying to both save newbs and do gens against killers even I can't handle.

    Not entirely.

Survivors share their MMR. Meaning you won't get easier killer if you play a survivor for the first time. This is because Survivors are basically only skins.

Killers will have each their own MMR but as far as I understood, you will put against easier survivor (lower MMR) if you play a killer for the first time or not playing that killer often. But easier doesn't automatically mean you get close to lowest possible MMR. Let's say someone having 1k hours in the game as solely playing killer (and doing pretty good at it) and a new killer is coming out which the person jumps on trying. That person will get easier opponents - but not newbies. That makes no sense and it's nowhere stated as far as I read. It only says easier. Let's use the ranks for an easy example: Playing Huntress on a Rank 1 level but never played Nurse. With Nurse you have now Rank 8-10 opponents the first match.

The paragraph where they mentioned that can be misleading but I don't read anywhere that they say that they will put newbies against someone when they playing a killer for the first time (if the killer has a high MMR on any other killer). I mean it wouldn't make sense to begin with as there is the factor basic gameknowledge to take into consideration. Noone playing at high skill level would play at newbie lv with a killer the never tried before. They still would do pretty decent even if they play the new killer without their power and only as a m1-killer, because they know how to loop, how to apply pressure, etc.

There is one instance where you would get legitimately matched with a rank 20 and that would be if someone was at a high MMR and then stopped playing. Their rank would go down, the MMR not though.

This said, the system is nowhere close to have enough knowledge thus far, that's why unfair matchmaking is happening. This should resolve itself the next weeks IF they got a decently programmed MMR-System.

Sorry I may have misunderstood and you may be right but I seen this in the new matchmaking description:

"The next phase that you will notice goes live with the upcoming mid-chapter update: We are no longer allowing Killers to switch their character while searching for a match, or once in a lobby (excluding Custom Matches). This will allow the new Matchmaking System to track player skill with each killer individually and match them against more appropriately skilled opponents based on their killer selection."

That is where my confusion is maybe because with each MMR being based on each individual killer and not the overall player then wouldn't a lets say Rank 1 killer main trying a new killer get the lowest MMR rating for the individual killer and get placed in a pool possibly with new survivors?

I mean I totally agree with everything you say but if we are ignore ranks now and only going based on MMR then for example lets say I dominate and always 4k with Hag and Myers and legion. I play for maybe 400 hours give or take and now I change killers to Trapper. The MMR system might say wow he has no knowledge of this killer and yes give me easier opponents but they could also pair me with newbies who just started survivor because the system is looking at just the Trappers MMR and not the overall knowledge as a killer.

I agree though it is still to early to tell but I am hoping for the best.

  • If I am right after reading the article many, MANY times this is how it works are is suppose to work:

On killer side if you try a new killer you never played before or are not familiar with you are put against survivors of the same level. You get survivors who are new to the survivor they picked or are not familiar with.

On the survivor side you pick a new survivor you never used and get put against a player using a killer they are new with.

The problem I see here is they are ignore the rank system because they say it is broken but that is a mistake. If anything put the rank system into consideration. The ranking system at very least tells us something. It tells us that a Rank 1 has played enough to know the game well and whether they pick a NEW killer or survivor they still know how to chase and loop. They may not know exactly how to use the said new to them killer or survivor but they know the game.

Now the Rank 1 player picks Oni for the first time and now the new system says oh well he does not know how to use them we should team him with survivors that are new but that is an issue. Yes it is gonna pull New survivors who are also inexperienced with their character but the player is gonna be maybe Rank 18 or 20 and not just new to the survivor but the ENTIRE game.

I hope that what I am saying makes sense because I cannot think of another way to explain it but I will try to simplify it more. A person use a new killer matched to 4 people playing new survivors may not be equal because said killer may have 1000 hours playtime where those 4 survivors may have just bought the game today and vice versa.

I think they should not only use the new system but put into consideration the ranks a bit too. I still have hope but currently after many games I am still have very unbalanced games. Good luck to you all and may the odd be ever in your favor! Live long and Prosper! Nano Nano! lol

I'm sorry, but I would never play this game solo, untill devs solve so many screaming problems like tunneling, facecamping, bad killer balance, bad perk balance and overall fix the game. It's a torture when you are running around for minutes while other randoms crouch around helplessly.

Sorry to say but the reason some perks may be broken is because they were considered strong and that is in part thanks to some SWF players abusing them. I am not saying you are one but most the time when a perk gets considered OP it is because SWF use them in such a planned and communicated way, like telling your team to get behind me I have DS and then getting down and using DS. That makes the perk look OP when this happens over and over.

I also think sadly tunneling will always be a thing and that is not easy to fix because they cannot tell the player they can't do it. I mean I was told that is what DS was for but even that doesn't help much.

Also to the torture of running around minutes only to have solo que teammates hiding and doing nothing will always be a thing. I mean I have had games where I ran the nurse no joke for almost 4 full minutes and I only know this because I started a challenge to get chased for 300 seconds and almost completed it. I ran for about 367 seconds only to see one gen pop and I was like ######### but still we managed to get out. It took more work on my part but yeah I get your frustration but once again the devs cannot tell players how to play.

If you like playing SWF then by all means do it but the reasons you give for playing SWF and only SWF is something that cannot be 100% fixed so just simply say I like playing SWF because I like playing games with friends. =)

I hope this new matchmaking treats you well in your future games....well I guess you don't need to worry you dont play solo que so instead good luck in your future games. =) <(^.^)> Live long and prosper NANO NANO!

People who call for an end to SWF (or a nerf to it) are just bad killers (or survivors) who haven't spent any amount of time playing SWF.

SWF is a minority. Toxic bullying SWFs are a minority within that minority.

Anybody who wants to criticize SWF needs to spend an entire day playing in SWF on the public official DBD discord in various SWFs and then come back here and complain (if they still want to).

The problem is that killers and solo survivors would rather blame SWF or something about the game than improve their skills.

Not being mean I love Solo que and never complain and agree that players need to improve their skill. I also have to say using mics and letting each other know where the killer is and not needing to equip perks like Kindred and Dark Sense and Spine Chill, and so many more and being able to equip more useful perks is not skill. I also want to say before the rest of my post that I have played SWF and was not a fan for many reasons but the main one was the lack of needing to really use skill. I mean if my friend said the killer is here I knew for a while I was safe until they said I lost vision. Then I had to look and watch unlike solo ques who have to rely on their skill and eyes and ears to always watch because they don't get this feedback.

Don't you think it takes more skill to play the game the way it was designed and learn that way over finding a way to in a sense break the system so all survivors start built with all vision perks (Comms)? I mean the one reason I do not play on comms or mics and I have tried, is because I feel then the skill level need drops because it becomes a game of knowing where the killer is most the time. Then being able to simply communicate every next step then actually relying on SKILL to look and watch your own area.

Overall I agree with your one thing that yes everytime a killer has a horrible game they assume SWF but your thing about survivors blaming SWF for their lack of skill confuses me. I mean the only thing I see solo que survivors blame SWF for is making things like Keys and Perks look OP that we do not use in solo que because we cannot abuse like these things get abused in SWF. I mean DS and BT are or were at least very used and abused in SWF and keys in SWF were scary and OP and normally ended with a 3 or 4 survivor escape. In a solo que none of that happens and it is not a lack of skill but the lack of communication unlike in SWF were you can tell your team things like, jumping in the locker gonna use my DS or I found the hatch and tell your entire team to come over and escape.

Anyway I hope you have a great day and I hope this new Matchmaking system treats you well. Live long and prosper Nano Nano!!

  • @BigBrainMegMain Yeah lol I agree with what @Shenochek said. If you let people go then how do you know it's working? I mean yeah you are getting the ranks that kind of fit your rank but we are not suppose to look at the rank number. It is more about that persons level with that particular character now over the rank system.

By the way I love your play style because I play the same way. I may smack a few around maybe even hook a couple so they can get points for the save but I am not in it to ruin others games. The only part that urks me is when they clearly can tell you are not trying like standing there spinning and stuff YET they teabag like they outplayed you. I had a couple survivors do this once and I was like well you had your shot. I had NOED and Blood Warden. I knocked one down that was running to the gate and the other one kept tebagging and pointing at me. Well I threw his friend on the hook and the panic began he looked back seen the blocked exit and ran...he did not make it. Lesson learned I hope that when a killer is being nice not to be toxic. =)

  • @xGodSendDeath said:

I fire up Demogorgon, who sucks, to do his fully charged shred daily and I get 4 man rank 1 sweat squads every single game. Awesome. The devs have no idea what they're doing

That is because I guess you need to do 10 rounds before the game decides where you should be.

I have the same issue on both ends though. I played a killer I sort of knew but only played like 5 times. It was legion and I am a rank 20 killer well the entire game was a joke. I had survivors juking me like I was nothing when normally I can at least kill 2 but in this game I was lucky to down 1. The results screen said it all though when all but one was Red rank and the last one was a purple rank.

They matched these high rank players with my low level skilled self all because they decided this is my first time using a killer and THEIR first time using a new survivor they must be in my level when honestly it shouldnt matter. If someone is Rank 1 no matter what killer they use their skill level should be higher than someone ACTUALLY new to the game. I do think the new system if it works will be good because I would like to learn nurse with survivors who are new but so far the system is looking at just one thing:

IS THIS YOUR FIRST TIME WITH SAID CHARACTER? if so then we will find other people new to their characters as well no matter their OVERALL knowledge of the game.

I have hopes for the system but in the end we cannot overlook someones rank and assume just because a killer main just used Freddy for the first time that a brand new just bought the game Rank 20 is on the same level then because they both are using "NEW" characters to them. The actual new player has no knowledge and the killer main has general knowledge of the game and that alone gives a person a edge.

Also Sorry you also have had bad experiences from this new system because I have played over 10 games with different survivors and still getting teammates with no perks rank 20 going against Red Rank killers. It makes no sense.

Tunneling & Camping ruin the fun of the game for others and aren’t even entertaining for the people who do it either, I avoid it at all costs even if it will cost me the game. Not to mention all 4 DC’d throughout the match, so if it was tunneling to a DC then by definition that would not in fact be tunneling, as you can’t tunnel the entire team...

Well you could tunnel then camp and kill one and tunnel and kill the next and so on and so on and if they choose to not do gens out of fear of being tunneled and camp thats on them but you can essentially tunnel each survivor. The survivor gets off hook chase them rehook them camp and let them die. Then do the next one but in most games the survivors would have just done gens and left. I have seen a killer tunnel and kill a team of potatoes who insisted on hiding instead of doing gens.

I do agree though and like I said from this picture alone I cannot say what happen but you are right if they D/Ced without even seeing them then there is no way you can tunnel someone to a D/C and it is more likely one of two issues:

!-The survivors seen Doctor and all said crap and quit because oddly even higher ranks dislike Doctor and either D/c or suicide on one hook

2-The possible other option is one survivor D/Ced and then like flies they started dropping saying screw this it is the Doctor and now we are done one. I might as well quit and get into a game I have a chance in.

Either way sorry again you had a bad game and hope it does not happen again because it is not your fault. I hope you have better luck in your future games. =)

There are no lag switchers on PlayStation so no that wouldn’t be it, and they were all moving around smoothly throughout the game. All 4 DC’ing throughout the match had nothing to do with thinking I was lag switching.

Not saying you are wrong but I know on a few different systems I play on I had games on both PS4 and Switch where someones internet sucked so bad that 2 survivors D/Ced and I almost quit myself many times because I kept getting rubber-banded back and forth to the point I was like ######### is going on. I played through it and died eventually but it does happen on console but it is normally out of all the players hands sadly.

The only reason I could maybe say just from this pic alone that they may have D/Ced is they were low ranks against a Doc. Many lower Rank and even mid Rank people think Doc is either OP are in the very least super annoying. I mean I do not mind playing against him but that is me. Other than that I cannot say you were camping or tunneling or anything and even if that is the case many people will not admit to that either so the only reason I see for the D/C's is low ranks mad they got Doctor as killer maybe.

Sorry it happened to you and hopefully this new matchmaking system helps you. =)

  • This system is gonna be busted just as much as the rank system was if not more. The new system if I read the article right and I read it many times works like this.

If you play a killer that is new to you no matter if you are Rank 1 or Rank 20 they will match you with fellow survivors with the same low to no experience. They ignore rank and look at knowledge with the killer and the knowledge they have with that survivor.

This is the problem though because we should not ignore rank. Yes rank is not everything but it does show us that this Rank 1 player at least knows the ins and outs of the game. It shows us that even if the Rank 1 player picks a new survivor or new killer to them that they will still play better than any brand new Rank 20 player with the same chosen character. I will try to even explain it in easier terms.

Rank 1 who picks lets say Wraith for the first time ever and plays killer gets survivors who are new to Dave, Claudette, Meg, and Jake. Only Problem that Rank 1 first time Wraith is now against first time Rank 17 to 20 survivors because they are new to survivors and practically new to the game. Yes the Rank 1 IS playing Wraith for the first time BUT still has an apparent advantage in time played and knowledge of the game.

I am not trying to bash the system and even have hopes for it but the new system is more about the individual characters and ignore rank but we shouldn't ignore rank. I had many games where a Rank 1 killer was against Rank 19 and 20 survivors. Yes that Rank 1 may have never used Oni before but those Rank 19 and 20 never played anyone before and have no knowledge on how to even find a dang gen and it showed. lol

  • @Zarathos said:

Agreed moris and keys are pretty busted. Both basically end the game early. Both are obvious to the killer and survivor. Both have little to no counter play. Remember two side gents and ladies. If you think your side has something obnoxious or unfair then you need to also observe what the other side has to contend with. Imo both need changes. Mori's can function like pyramid heads ability to kill on death hook as for keys the hatch only spawns when all gens are done or during the endgame collapse.

I like that you are trying to come up with solutions but there is only one problem with the hatch idea. If you get all gens done why take the hatch? You get more points opening the gates you now already have powered up. I am not saying you are wrong but just pointing out that part. It would be like playing killer and slugging a survivor but not hooking them for those final points kinda? lol

I currently do not mind Keys even when I play killer because the hatch within itself for most solo ques can be hard to make spawn and find. I do feel like keys are OP only when we see SWF who already break the game use them and plan every step so they can all escape. I kind of even like going against moris but I can see why both sides dislikes them but, and this might make some people made and I do not mean to but, I feel like people who think the keys are that OP are killers that are mad over not getting that 4k all because 1 or 2 people got away. The game was never built to always get the 4k. I guess maybe I just do not take the game that serious and enjoy and play it for what it is. =)

Once again I like that you are trying to come up with ideas in solutions instead of problems. Keep it up and good luck in your games with this new matchmaking system and have a great day. =)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1508934#Comment_1508934

Yes, priority to killer closing the hatch over anything else (as it should be). But Hatch, by nature, is a survivor-favored mechanism since it gives them a free out-of-jail for playing poorly (as if they don't already have billion second chances).

But that's another topic, sorry I digress.

The killer could close the hatch though and stand on it and never give the survivor a chance to open it even if they were next to it.

Now even with someone like me who did 90% of the gens and more than half the totems and tried my best saving my potato solo team only to be left alone would not deserve a shot at the hatch?

I mean I do agree yes that players that play poorly should not be given the hatch BUT most the time if you watch those players they do not even bother looking for the hatch. They hide and continue to sit in the corners and then hope to get the gate. It is normally the survivors that tried hard who know to look for the hatch.

It is a odd topic sadly but thanks for the response and I hope you have a great day and Good luck in your games with this new wacky matchmaking system. <(^.^)>

  • @DrDeepwound @GoodBoyKaru

Yeah all my games were super crazy. I even figured okay I will play legion another killer I played maybe 5 times but have not played in like 4 months. I had survivors all but BOOPING my nose and laughing at me. Once again almost all Red Ranks and one Green. I was like okay this new matchmaking is not working and in fact making this very bad.

My last game was against a doctor a RANK 1! We had 3 D/c's in that round too. I mean I did not blame them and the killer even gave up because it was to easy. The survivors were not doing gens and just trying to hide and you could tell they were either completely new to the game or had less than 10 hours. I just shook my head like this is gonna be a looong week.

I also have had matches were I never see the killer when I play survivor and then had matches where the killer is everywhere and it makes no sense. At the moment there is no sense of the matchmaking and goodluck to you all! =)

Who doesn't? And hatch needs to let go because it is yet another second chance for survivors who play poorly. EGC should start when third survivor is dead.

But wait for it, some survivors actually said (I kid you not) hatch is killer-favored!

What second chances do killers get? Maybe NOED? One?

I will say I did hear killer mains also say Hatch is Killer Favored BUT they only said that because killer takes statues over the hatch. They explained and showed for example if the killer closes hatch and sits right on it the survivor can't do anything even with a key to open it. Also to the whole when the third survivor dies the timer should start forcing the last survivor to open a gate. How likely is it that survivor will actually have enough time to open the gate before the killer gets to them?

I mean on most maps the gates are so close together. I do not feel the hatch is a way out for bad players. I mean I have played survivor and had games where I do no joke 4 out of 5 gens by myself and break 3 totems and rescue two teammates only for them to spend the game hiding and then get killed. At that point what more could I do?

I have given a survivor the hatch many times as killer as well because I seen how hard they were trying but their solo que team was dragging them down. I am not saying you are wrong and I am right just pointing out why the hatch is not always a bad thing and honestly if the players are that bad and 9 times out of 10 then the last survivor wont even look for the hatch and hide in a locker and I laugh as I either spectate or look for the survivor as the killer.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

It takes around 10 games for the MMR to settle and until then expect some wacky games

Thank you for the feedback! I have played about 8 or 9 and the ranks are more crazy then ever. I mean I know we keep saying Rank means nothing and that it should matter the persons skill with the survivor or killer. The problem for me is let's say the Rank 1 just picked Hag for the first time ever so now the game is gonna look for someone new to a survivor they are not familiar with either.

If that is the case we could still get a Rank 1 player new to Hag against a just bought the game Rank 20 survivor who is new to David. Yes the rank 1 is new to hag but has a general idea of how to play. The Rank 20 yes is new to David but has no idea how to even move and pops gens and pokes the killer. lol

Rank still should be slightly considered because even though I never used Jeff as a survivor I still know how to loop and what perks to use. Rank yes is easy to get but is still shows you played enough to know what you are doing.

IT is gonna be a rough week of matches I think but I have hope or at least will pray this works? lol

  • I look at it this way, Moris are strong in any match as a killer be it against Solo Que or against a SWF team. Keys however are only OP when in a SWF team that abuse them. I mean have you ever really tried to use a key from the start of the match and manage to get more then yourself out alive? If you can say yes then congrats to you and please explain to us how you managed to get that stranger to listen to you because when I wave FOLLOW ME FOLLOW ME they look and run the other way.

As a killer you can always choose to run FD and then no matter if the survivor brought a key or FOUND that all might scary key then you can smack that hoe senseless and make them drop it. Oh also I did not know until a few youtubers mentioned it but if the killer gets to the hatch, key or not, and stands on the now closed hatched you cannot push the killer off that hatch to use the key. This was knowledge I sadly did not know.

Mori's have no counter what so ever and survivors do not even get the chance to use a perk equivalent to FD to counter Mori because DS does not stop it because you do not have to pick the survivor up. It seems yes I will agree both are strong but one is clearly more OP in every match where the other is only OP in given situations.

Also to the people that get mad when a survivor gets that slight lucky chance and finds a key in a chest and escapes. It is not the end of the world if one person escapes. I mean the same can be said about moris as well but I do not mind either and just clearly see Mori's used MUCH more in my games because there is no way to stop them. I hardly see survivors bring in keys because they know the killer is just gonna tunnel them dead. To sum up my dumb post Moris OP in every match and SWF make Keys OP when they plan and make their 4 man escapes.

I am just another dumb person with a dumb opinion. lol Please ignore me. =)

I disagree, I just did the "kill all 4 survivors by any means as Doctor" by using gross add ons. Got 3 DCs before my second hook, ez challenge.

Wait so even though someone D/C the challenge still worked? We have someone telling us on here that he hates D/C's because it makes it impossible to do a challenge like that. I am just asking if the D/C counted towards the challenge?

Sorry. I mixed up my pronouns. I’m on the hook. The killer sits in front of me. The other player that would save me if the killer wasn’t camping sits and watches and then (I don’t blame them) give up and run to a generator because they also know it’s a waste of time and effort to play that way. It’s just POOR game play. On the killers part to not have any skills to actually play but instead just camp. When killers do that it’s not that I’m mad. I’m annoyed. I’m thinking are the points and the win mean so much to you, you just have to camp and can’t get any kills otherwise? No other skills besides sitting their. Watching. Waiting. It’s a waste of everyone times and it’s selfish and amateurish.

Okay that makes better sense but by the other person in this forum Freckle or whatever his name is he says Camping is a strategy so deal with it. It makes me laugh because on one end he is saying he hates D/C's because it robs him of points but doesn't camping also rob you the killer of many possible points and also the poor survivor that never got the chance to play?

Also he mentions how a player who D/C ruins his game but doesn't getting camped and tunnel ruin another persons game experience?

I have learned that to many people take this game to serious and never see the other sides perspective. They keep saying me me me but never look back down the finger they are pointing at others. I like how people get mad about how one person plays but then at the same time tell you to get over things when you get mad about how they play.

Sadly this community is quickly going downhill and the toxic level is on the rise. The best piece of advice I can give is to do what I do and let it roll off your back. If someone camps or tunnels sadly not much you can do but laugh at the lack of their skill. If someone D/C's just laugh and keep playing as well because it is just a game and at the end of the day if you survivor or not or if you kill or not the game goes on and your life does too. =)

Today I had a match. At the beginning of the match I screwed up and spent way to much time looking for someone that was nearby, this allowed the others to get a serious head start and 3 gens popped right before I got my first down. 3 gens are gone, 3 survivors that hadnt been hooked, yup should have camped. I didnt, got 4 or 5 more hooks but in the end it was just delaying the inevitable. Got a 1k.

Another game against a 4 man swf (i know this for a fact) all r1s. I didnt mess up but they still got 3 gens right after i got my first down. Id played this grouo before, so i said screw it and dragged my second down into the basement (ironically i was a doc that match). Turned into a dog fight but ended in a 4k during egc.

Point here is, hard camping is best used as a hail mary, youre hoping the others are altruistic and you can squeeze out enough hooks and hits to safety. Its not even about the 4k at that point, though no reason to be mad about getting one. Either you screwed up (as I did in the first scenario) or the survivors are stupid good and very coordinated as in the second scenario and now your backs against the wall and youre staring defeat in the face. Gloves come off. Slugging, csmping, whatever you got to do at that point should be on the table

I completely agree! If it is like the end of the game one gen or no gens then take the gloves off. Go in swinging and do not stop until someone or everyone is dead. If it is the start of the match though camping is yes hurting that one survivor but it is also overall probably hurting you the killer more. When 3 gens pop you have no one to blame but yourself if all you did is sit and stare like a happy creeper at the guy on the hook. lol You should have been out putting pressure on the others and forcing them to come rescue their hooker friend. lol

You have the right idea and I am glad you got the 4k on that SWF group. I despise SWF because thanks to them they are making people think things like Keys and certain survivor perks are OP and causing killers to want nerfs. I have had this talk and was shocked when killer mains on youtube even said it but Keys are only OP in SWF who can strategize and plan so they all get out. IN solo que the survivors are lucky to even make the hatch spawn let alone somehow communicate enough to all get out if they are even alive or can find the hatch. Then DS and BT are really only abused by SWF who plan when and how to use them. I mean in solo que IF I bring BT I am luck to even get to use it because normally someone else steals the rescue and I stand there like BUT i HAD BT! lol

Sorry got off topic but yeah I am happy you killed that SWF and I agree with your post!

I hope you have a great weekend and keep on killing! =)

May the odds be ever in your favor! Live long and prosper! NANO NANO!

Its supposed to counter thing like infectious fright and doctor, but I dont see neither that often so I dont run it.

But that is my point if it had the added bonus of also numbing moaning pain like it does numb you so you do not yell then even if the killer did not have infectious or was not the doctor it would still be useful and you could pet the birds. =)

I mean Calm Spirit stops you from screaming in pain so why not stop you from moaning in pain too? It would keep you calm like it says. =)

Thanks for the response and have a great night and hope you have good luck in all your game matches. =)

I think because an all in one would be too strong. Combining Iron Will and Calm Spirit only leaves 2 other slots to work with.

I mean not using both perks but making both perks into one. I mean yeah Calm Spirit is strong but if the killer does not have anything to make you scream and this happens more often than not then really it becomes a perk that just let's you pet the birds. I mean that is nice and I like birds as much as the next guy but then it would be nice if that pain suppresion you get from being able to block pain and not screaming could also help you not moan in pain. Then you would have the new combined perk of Iron Will and Calm Spirit....whatever the new name would be, maybe Iron Spirit or Calm Will. rofl

I hope people know I am not saying Calm Spirit sucks because it doesn't but it is just the fact that if Calm Spirit helps you numb the pain so you do not scream then why not numb it so you do not moan? That way if you did let's say use this new combined perk and the killer was someone that does not make you scream you can at least not moan when injured and yes still pet the birds. That does not sound game breaking to me like BT and DS is considered to be.

I still love Calm Spirit just was a idea and sorry if I offended anyone. That was not my intentions and I hope you have a great night and good luck in your games. <(^.^)>

Players get hit once and D/C. Or get put on the hook the first time and D/C. I’ve watched killers sit there camping and obviously the player on the hook can see how close I am... and see how the killer isn’t budging.

I’m not toxic at all. I rarely comment or rate. I like to play fairly but these D/C are often players that I haven’t even interacted with in the game yet.

MY theory is the Birthday celebration got so many “newish” or “still learning” players to up their rank. Their skills aren’t improving. They just keep getting more and more things to take into the game. They keep ranking up. And they keep losing. Meanwhile due to the birthday cake they still get extra points no matter how bad they are. My theory is it’s a lot players who went up in rank before they should. So you have a rash of new killers that only know how to camp because they have no skill to kill without out it. And a ton of players who feel overwhelmed and D/C.

I was a little confused by your comment. Sorry I may have misunderstood you. The part where you say, "I've watched killers sit there camping and obviously the player on the hook can see how close I am... and see how the killer isn't budging."

This part of your comment confused me because you say you have watched killer sitting there but then say the player on the hook can see how close I(you) am.

Does that mean you as a killer are right in the survivor that is on the hook's face when you play killer and you are not budging so you are camping? I mean if that is the case I mean yeeeeahh camping is a legit strategy but it is also a kind of toxic move by ruining that one players game after only one hook. That could lead others that you knock down to D/C because they would rather quit then sit on a hook letting you stare at them like a happy creeper. lol

I think you are right though that with a bunch of new players and there is many on all platforms that the new players are ranking faster then expected by piggy backing on experienced players backs. Then they get in a match with a good killer and rage quit and probably either quit the game for good or a while which kind of stinks but oh well. =) I think you may have a point though and it may be the issue.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Its all situational. Has nothing to do with character or player, good killers know when to camp and when not to.

Can I ask and I do not mean this with any offense or disrespect but when is a good time or a needed time to camp? I only ask because I suck as killer but enjoy it and I will never camp only because I like to give everyone fair chances and also camping means others have time to do gens. Also if I let them get the survivor but then chase the one who unhooked I have at least two (most the time if the other one goes and tries to heal at least instead of doing gens) who are now off gens for a bit.

I mean camp if you want and if you REALLY need it but just asking when would you consider a good and reasonable excuse to camp someone? Just trying to learn. =)

  • @JesterClown said:

What rank were they, ive seen on the low rank survivor experience vs low rank killer, everyone tunnels and camps in low ranks

I have seen Rank 12 and the latest was a Rank 8 Doctor that no joke walked circles around one survivor so long that three gens got done. Then someone said screw it and saved the person and the Doctor tunneled that poor survivor. I felt bad for them because they spent the entire game on the hook. It just made no sense because doctor seem like the last killer to camp with considering it is so easy to find survivors that you should not ever need to camp with him or really any other killer.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It’s not just for removing screams and the location notification.

When I play killer I’ve trained my myself to be extra attentive to crow activity, and can say that sometimes it’s just by paying attention to that alone is what has lead me to survivors hiding.

For this reason when I play survivor I always presume I’m up against a killer that might pay attention to crows. So i’ll either go out of my way to avoid them, or use Calm Spirit if I’m going full stealth.

My real point is why they didnt combine Iron Will and Calm Spirit. If you do not scream in pain why would you moan? It just logically never made sense. Calm Spirit you resist the urge to scream even when clubbed and hurt or a meat hook in the back. Iron Will you go into a meditative state to dull pain. I mean they both seem to do the same thing slightly one makes it so you do not scream in pain the other so you do not moan from the pain so if you don't scream from pain why would you moan from pain?

Overall I think they are both good perks when used and even better when the killer that Calm Spirit is best against shows up. I just thought with them being so closely related it would have made sense. Either way I still like them both. =)

Have a Great Weekend and thanks for responding. =)

to answer your questions: 1) I am not a toxic player what so ever. 2) Tunneling and camping are known strats to play the game this is not toxic behavior, 3) I do not tbag at pallets, windows or any time the killer misses. 4) you seem to know every single reason to dc outside of the two or three legit reasons. 5) I speak my mind when people bring issues like this up and say they love the penalties are gone because they are free to dc anytime! 6) with the statement like that in many posts and responses about this topic is it no wonder that people complain about dc's?

When I play killer I do not intentionally tunnel, but if you're off the hook and working on a gen,you are once again fair game because you're back in the game. I don't care if you just got off the hook, you want to do a gen near the hook and I find you then yea i'm going to down you and re-hook you. I'll slug to wait out ds or go after someone else in the area, only ONCE did I slug all 4 people and let them bleed out (why you ask? I was pissed, beyond pissed and I wanted someone to pay so I went into a match slugged them and stopped playing at the end of that match for the night).

I was in 10 matches just now and 3 of them had a dc of some sort, one was even the killer. and earlier today I was watching a friend stream as killer and he had 4 dc's in the span of 5 matches. He is not a toxic killer or anything they just wanted to deny him points, because they didn't like that they couldn't win. This is the problem people take the game so seriously they violate the game rules which does say disconnecting is against the rules when ever they feel like it. instead of grilling me on why i have so many, you need to think why you want to dc so much, and that is for everyone that dc's they have to realize that all the people that dc because "the killer nodded at me" or the killer tunneled me... or any reason other than game breaking errors (or perhaps panic attacks caused by the game) are the reason that people who get disconnected because their power went out, their router fried, the isp went down and more reasons outside of the player's control, get penalized as well. there is no way to discern a network issue from someone removing the ethernet cable from their router.

I agree if you are off the hook and on a gen then by all means smack a ######### but if you see a survivor taking someone off the hook and rightfully choose to go after the one that got unhooked over the one who saved him then that is tunneling and you may not see it as a toxic behavior a legit strategy but, for the poor player who did not have a choice in the dumb survivor picking to take them off in front of the killer and then get smacked down, I can understand and even sympathize with them. I mean at that point just take the L and die on hook but at the same time they have a right to be upset if they never even got a chance to touch a gen or even play.

I agree D/Cing is annoying but who is to say the person D/Cing is doing it out of rage. You mention that there is 2 or 3 legit reasons to D/C but how would you know if the person D/C's by what you determine to be legit?

Also you say people take this game to serious but by complaining about someone D/Cing and robing you of fake make believe game points are you not yourself taking the game to serious instead of just saying oh well it is just a game? In the end the person that Rage Quits is to serious but the person that is that upset that someone quit a match is also taking the game to serious. I have D/C's in my game and I just laugh it off BECAUSE it is not a serious situation and at the end of the day I still get points and enjoyed myself because I did not take the game to serious but I tried.

Most killers with snowball potential run infectious to help track down people after downing them. Hillbilly is one of said snowball killers. His base power doesn't interact with Calm Spirit much but it's mostly the fact they usually run infectious.

Ahh okay that makes sense so it is not Billy himself but once again Infectious Fright. He uses it because once someone screams he can Saw Dance his way into your heart. lol Thanks and sorry I am being dumb just like to have fun and did not think about that possible combo. Even if you ignore the alerting crows bit, which you shouldn't, Clam Spirit is still good for more than countering Doctor and IF.

For example, let's say you're playing Nurse. When she his someone the survivor boosts off while she looks at the ground for a bit, and because the survivor doesn't scream from the hit she might need to take an extra second or two to figure out exactly where they ran off to. Sometimes that's enough time for them to get away, especially if they also have Iron Will, but it will at least likely give the survivor some more distance and increase their odds of having a long chase. This is extra nasty in the corn too.

Nurse also has an add on that makes survivors scream when she blinks past them, and if she's running that add-on and you break LOS you might be able to lose her if she blinks right through you; she'll hear no scream and assume you went a different way.

It's also good against Clown, as you can run through bottle clouds without screaming. This can let you escape sometimes by going through an area the Clown thinks he's zoned off.

Deathbound hasn't gotten a ton of use from what I've seen so far, but Calm Spirit also counters the scream from that perk and makes it a lot less useful. It counters the screams from MYC and Iron Maiden (I think?) too, but those aren't as beneficial to the survivor.

So yeah, it's situational, but it can be good in the right situations.

I mean if the nurse slapped you and you ran off even if you do not scream she can follow the scratch marks. I also did not know about the add-on that makes you scream. That is interesting and wondering how rare this add-on is but it sounds cool. =)

You also make a good point about running through the clown's happy fog but most the time when I am against a Clown the only time they throw it is after they see me so they can slow me down. =(

Thanks for the advice and I just have to take logic out of my mind. I mean it is a game so if they want to make a perk that you do not scream when a meat hook goes through your back but you cry and moan after you get of the painful hook then by all means it is their game. Just an odd thing because I would normally think If I didn't scream from all that pain then walking around looking for a heal after would be nothing. lol

Hope you have a great weekend and good matches and no toxic players. =) Thanks again really for the advice and not trying to come off mean at all.

  • @RbLen said:

Iron will is already hard meta, combining the two would just make it stronger. Calm Spirit is invaluable against Infectious Fright nurse/spirit/billy or any snowballing killer. I like it where it is now, niche use but really shines against one killer and a few perks. The birds not flying away is nice, sometimes good killers pay attention to the crows for tracking. Solid underrated perk, it doesn't need a buff but I wouldn't mind it without going overboard.

I see you say you say Calm Spirit is good against Billy. I am just wondering how? I figured his power is just sawing you down in one hit so maybe I am missing something. I mean no offense and just like to learn. =)

The only reason I think the two could be combined is because using Calm Spirit in most cases aside from being able to pet the birdies unless against those very few killers is next to nothing. You could just avoid the birds or crawl around them most the time. I mean it is nice when you get those few killers or that perk it counters but that is a gamble and if you don't get those you end up with a very small ability but I do agree that can help.

My other thing is and I know it is soooooo dumb but I still do not get the logic in not screaming when a hook goes through your back or you get zapped or step in a bear trap but you moan after a killer Pimp Slaps you like a hooker who did not make enough for their pimp. rofl It just seems like if I am not gonna scream from being zapped or gouged being slightly hurt and walking around would be nothing. I know it's dumb because it is a game and all logic goes out the window but it just seems funny.

Thanks for the advice and I hope to hear about how it helps against Billy because maybe that will help more. =) Have a great weekend and hope you have great matches.

I don't mind spirit anymore since I run spine chill and iron will. I don't mind doc bc its very easy to loop them. Just dont throw the pallet early and make distance. You should only hate doc if you're extremely stealthy.

I don't really mind any of the killers. I agree there are certainly some that are much more stronger than others but for example people say legion is the worst. I love legion and how fast he is at getting around the map to pressure people. I think he has become one of my best killers. I just chop it up to all a learning experience, like when I see spirit I learned there is a good chance we will all die! LMAO jk jk

first of all i stated my OPINION, this is not an assumption but my OPINION. lol you keep wanting to make that about me assuming and my opinion is that if you d/c for any reasons other than game breaking bugs or your personal mental health (intense phobias that can cause panic attacks and worse) then it is my opinion you are a mean and crappy player because you don't want to help your team or you deny the survivors their game.

as to points the killer get 675 points, which does not equated to the 1000 points for the hook, plus 200 for the sac. and you get points for being abandoned, which does not make up for the 1000 points for the save and 500 if it was a safe unhook. so sure you get 1/2 the points for one time but nothing close to what it would award you and it actually awards it in a different category than it should for killer it is put into brutality not sacrifice.

Do you really have this many people who D/C in your games? If so why when so many others do not have this issue? I am not assuming it is you but there has to be a root to the cause of your problem. I mean you posted at least 3 topics about D/Cing and now in this persons topic. I will say that there certainly are rage quitting babies who get downed once and quit but then there are those people that don't want to reward toxic behavior on either side.

If you are and it seems you may be having this big of an issue with that many D/Cing people in your games ask yourself why? I see maybe one D/C out of every 5 or 6 games but it sounds like and just asking but you are having this issue more often then not. I mean you seem to have this issue to the point it is ruining your game experience and not sure why it is happening to you that much.

Do you do anything toxic to rage people into quitting? Do you tunnel or camp? Do you slug and just let people bleed out which can make people mad? I mean the list goes on.

Then on survivor side they could be teabagging and be stuck as a killer against survivors out of your rank and this does happen. You could have a team mate and this has happened to me that kept letting the killer know where you are. The person kept opening the locker I was in and pointing to it. Their name was even Toxic* . The list goes on but there is many reasons people D/C. I hope you find the root of the reason you are having so many D/C's.

alright it was a different person that didn't want to do research, and i posted the link to the RULES of the game which explicitly state what is and is not breaking the rules in the game. here it is for you: fine i will do your research for you: googling "dbd reportable offenses" you see this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

and why does it SAY not to report? below it, here is the answer and I even quoted that for you: "About Disconnects bans - DO NOT REPORT

Disconnects are handled by the disconnection penalty system. No further action will be taken on reports."

They specify why not to report this, and that's because there is supposed to be a penalty system in place which currently has been removed because of issues of hacking.

you are looking for ways to be a crappy player, fine look for those loop holes. and guess what I'll report you for them every time, if it's a dc I will do it currently because the system is not in place right now because of the reasons i mentioned in the previous post. why do you want to disconnect so much? you are saying "ME ME ME ME ME!" and the game is not about you, but you and 4 other players. you leaving early is just a slap in their face.

I am not saying I am a mean or crappy player. Once again you assume and you seem to do that a lot.

Overall at the end of the day a D/C is still points gained and if you are having that big of an issue with that many D/C's ask yourself why people are D/Cing while you play killer or even survivor. IT may be YOU and the way you play causing people to D/C. I mean just from this post and looking back over your many other post about this same situation you seem to have a HUGE D/Cing issue. I am kind of thinking but not assuming the problem is you may be playing toxic and no one wants to play with toxic players. Me thinking by the way is not me assuming and instead asking you if you do anything toxic.

Do you tunnel or camp? Do you slug and let people bleed out? If so toxic behavior is met with toxic results like D/C's. I personally hate D/cing because how long games can take to find and load but I will not reward toxic behavior. Either way good day to you and hope you have better luck in your games. Live long and Don't D/C NANO NANO!

first of all, it DOES include d/cing in the rules i quoted so because you decided to gloss over it here is the quote for this:

    "Unsportsmanlike Conduct

    • Botting
    • Lag switching
    • Disconnects (leaving the match before killed or sacrificed) - DO NOT REPORT
    • For both Botting and Lag switching, in-game reports are REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

About Disconnects bans - DO NOT REPORT

Disconnects are handled by the disconnection penalty system. No further action will be taken on reports."

It is RIGHT THERE under unsportsmanlike conduct. as I said in my message it says do not report and covers that at the last because of the disconnection penalty system. Currently there are no penalties because the system has been taken down due to hacking that occurred and they are working to fix that. So there you go in black and white they will act, and can review the accounts that have been penalized and if they decide to they can stop your account. Speaking of your account, you bought the cartridge sure. they can not take away your physical copy because you own it, BUT they CAN block you from accessing the online content by banning the account you set up when you first applied the game in your switch, Playstation, Xbox, Microsoft Store and Steam. can you create a new account? yes but guess what, you wont have the same stuff and anything you've bough will have to be bought once again. I do not know how the switch works but you will probably have to make a new switch account in order to do this but that is my guess. same with your playstation or xbox.

You keep talking about my assumptions, I do not assume what you play on or through. I use steam as a general bit of information because I know steam quite well. Ask any dev if the have the right to deny your account access to the online content. You are the one trying to find the loop hole so you can be a crappy team mate and disconnect from a match. You are part of the reason that the penalties exist, you are part of the reason that people like me who very rarely get network issues and if i have one I will have to suffer a penalty. I've had this happen where my computer freezes up and thus I have to reboot my computer and when i come back I am out of the game (though the time it takes to relaunch i'm done with the 5 minute penalty as I don't just D/C for stupid reasons. you bought the game, you knew you would play against other people, and you accepted this but you decide that because they tunnel you or they camp you it's ok to dc. this is laughable and you are being selfish.

About your first reply to me (yes I will not use a different message) You tell me to take my own advice and let him play his own way. well sure if he wants to play with sprint burst and walk around the map, or run I don't care how he plays. once he breaks the rules by disconnecting (listed above) this is different. If you are driving on any place that has a rule not to excede a certain speed, sure they can do it but it breaks the law (rule), and thus they are subject to penalties and others can tell them that they are a danger to people because of their actions. thus with the rule in place that disconnecting is punishable, I can tell people to follow the rule, don't do it. will they continue to do it? perhaps but I will report anyone that dc's intentionally in the match. now that you know it is in the rules that disconnecting intentionally is there, you can decide how you wish to continue to play, but know that if you disconnect intentionally you can be punished and that is on you not me, I am trying to show people that they can't whine about anything that happens to them because of breaking the rules and if you want to get out of a match as a survivor, go find the killer get them to down you then hook you. once there attempt to escape from the hook and if you don't, don't struggle. I accept this is a valid way of leaving the match, a crappy way but it is not against the rules.

Where is it in this thing you posted? I even did a find the word and cannot find the word disconnect and I even took my time to read it twice.

That is the link you gave us to click and read and I do not see it in there? Where is the link to the rules you just posted?

Also if it was a problem why does it say DO NOT REPORT?

Pyramid boi and quickscope boi have counterplay. Its called having good reaction times. Spirit I do agree with tho.

Just to play devils advocate here your point to Pyramid head and DeathDingleBerry is to have good Reaction times. This could also be said with the Spirit. I mean you see her shell of a ghost standing there you could simply tell she is in chase then and either walk or vault a window and hope you reacted well enough to block her. I think they are all personally tough to go against but personally and I know it's dumb but I would rather go against any one of these than a Doctor any day. I mean at least with these ones they have to find you as with Doctor they just spam zap and you scream I AM HERE! lol......In the end it is always a learning game and thankfully each match is not the same.

Happy hunting or surviving and I hope you have good luck in your matches! <(^.^)>

Calm Spirit and Iron Will in one perk would be op. Iron Will itself is borderline strong.

But they are essentially the same thing. I mean think of it this way, I get a meat hook in the back and I do not scream and instead look you in the face and laugh because I do not feel pain. I however get off the hook and now with no hook in my back make noise? Just being silly but it does make sense.

Also I do not feel Iron Will Is OP and is so easily countered. Whispers comes to mind and Stridor also comes to mind. I mean there is many perks to counter that and also be good even when a survivor does not use Iron Will. I sadly do not see either get used much in any of the matches I am in but I think they are both good as well.

Thanks for giving some feedback and really hope you have a great weekend as well as everyone here! <(^.^)>

Live long and prosper NANO NANO! lol

It's a great perk and has saved me plenty of times. It stops screams from doc, clown, freddy, pyramid head, iron maiden, and infectious fright. And not scaring birds is actually pretty underrated. It's a perk that nobody expects to see at high ranks, but I run it because it can counter so many perks and things that I find annoying when I play survivor.

I forgot about Pyramid Head but just curious even if you do not scream doesn't it alert the killer anyway like when you walk into the trappers trap? I mean yes you do not scream but it alerts him still. Also yeah you do not scream when clown gases you but that still does not help much because if the clown is gassing you chances are he sees you anyway and sadly in my version of game we do not have Freddy. =(

You make a valid point though and I am sure it has it's uses but I think it would be more useful if Iron Maiden was combined with it. I mean it never made sense to me that you do not scream EVER! Meat hook in the back you take it like a nut job who feels no pain. The doctor shocks you nutty and yet no scream. You get clubbed in the head and no scream.........HOWEVER get off the hook that was just through your back and you did not scream NOW you cannot stop making noise as you walk because I guess the walking is what hurts more than a hook in the back???

lol Anyway not saying the perk is dumb or useless just feel like those two perks could have simply been one together because they are almost the same. One makes it so you do not scream in pain and the other is you do not moan in pain, kinda the same thing.

Also thanks for responding and being kind. I hope you have a great weekend and good luck in your games! <(^.^)>

Yeah it is a gamble but so are perks like BT, UB and DS. You could get slugged / tunneled / camped or not. I'm more fond of using build that is consistent than having build that has perks that might not ever come in to play.

I would love Iron Will and Calm Spirit merged though.

Cheers and happy gaming for you too! 😊

You make a point about BT, UB, and Ds being a gamble but overall they are always something you can use no matter the killer. The problem with Calm Spirit is it really only seems OP against Doc and Infectious Fright and may have a slight use not scaring the pretty birds. =)

I do think putting those two perks together would have made sense and still not make Calm Spirit to strong. I mean it only makes sense you do not scream from pain of any kind so you think you would not moan.

Thanks for the comment and being a great nice person! It is nice seeing the entire community is not toxic. <(^.^)>

Hope you have a great weekend!

Kinda meh in purple ranks but once you hit red ranks it can be really nice. The strongest killers in the game (nurse, oni, billy, etc) will typically have IF equipped and it can save you getting caught out.

Many really good killer players will also track through crow disturbances. Easily one of the best stealth perks next to iron will, fixated, and spine chill.

I forgot about that. I forgot you do not bother the birds. I still just do not understand why Iron Will could not be combined with it. I mean I know I keep saying it but the whole meat hook in the back not screaming thing BUT then getting slapped by the killer and that is to much so you moan the whole time? I mean just makes sense if you dont scream from a meat hook in the back that you also would not moan in pain. Anyway it still has it's uses and I do enjoy it from time to time.

Thanks for your response and I hope your games go great! Happy living/Killing! =)

It counters Infectious Fright also. Amazing perk if you have trouble playing against Doc and Infectious builds. I personally used it for quite some time and now I've learned to play better against those so I dropped it from my build.

I agree that it is a great perk for those but other than that if you weren't against the Doc or Infectious Fright perk then it becomes a useless perk and you end up running with 3 perks. It just kind of stinks that you kind of take a gamble unlike most the other perks that even if they arent great they still have some use.

I am not saying your wrong and I personally like the perk but just wish it had more use and kind of still don't understand why it was not mixed in with Iron Will. I mean it stops you from screaming when a meat hook goes through your back but I still moan in pain? It is a bit odd logically I would think. I mean It is like being stabbed in the gut and looking at the killer and smiling but then pulling the sword out and walking around NOW in pain. I don't know just seems like those two could have been combined. Either way they are both decent perks for what they are. =)

Thanks for your response and happy gaming. =)

  • That the best place to play this game is on the toilet so when the killer scares me I can literally poop! ROFL
