fine i will do your research for you: googling "dbd reportable offenses" you see this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

Guess what it is in there.. (this has the penalty system for disconnects in it so it says do not report but currently it is not in there) but now that you've read the TOS you know they can remove your access for any reason what so ever, and this includes abuses of the game itself including "disconnecting" you do not have an action in the match that lets you "disconnect/leave the match" you have to open the match menu and use the functionality in that. this is abusing the system as that functionality is there to stop a game from going for hours. the fact you think that disconnecting for just any reason, or even a few reasons shows how much respect you hold others to and that is very little. as I stated before the functionality to disconnect is to prevent the matches from not finishing, survivor/killer stuck in the geometry or bug that prevents the game from completing.

NOW the reason there is a penalty now is becuase people will disconnect because they don't like how the killer nodded at them (yes i've heard and seen this), they didn't like that the killer tunneled them, or camped them. other reasons I've heard and seen "I was found right away." or "I don't like killer X" (only one of those i'd EVER agree on grudgingly, is in the case of a sever phobia for example of clowns as this is potentially a mental break or worse). all of those reasons are actual reasons i've been a witness to and it is not even fair for the killer or the survivors you play with.

Also two things, you are right they can perma ban and stop people from playing on steam, but once again you assume I bought it on steam. I own the cartridge and the game on switch so yes at best they could somehow stop me from playing online but I could still play local games with friends right here in my living room so point me. =)

Then number two about the TOS you are right by saying D/C is a bannable offense but no where in there does it directly list D/C and instead says this very vague and umbrella term:

"While participating in the Game, you also agree to comply with certain rules of conduct that govern your use of the game ("Rules of Conduct"), for example you may not:

"eHarass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything else to another user that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion".....and the list goes on but not one thing about D/C. Overall yes they could ban you for anything. I mean it says right there you may not do anything else to another use that is unwanted....well I do not want you to hook me or camp or tunnel me so report that. I do not want you to throw me on the ground and watch me bleed out so report that I guess. I mean it is like grasping at straws trying to make a point but just do what the rest of us do and go into a new game with a fresh smile and pep in your step or take a break. Good day mate and hope your problem get's fixed because deep down I do not think it is the D/Cing that is the issue but the root cause of why you are having so many people D/Cing when you play. Pip pip and cheerio! =)

if you are so fed up with this, then take a break or quit playing all together. if you feel you have to expect to dc because a killer doesn't play YOUR way then find a different game. I am glad the penalty existed, and when it was gone suddenly I see 50% more dc's at minimum and it stops me from getting points, challenges and even escaping thanks to the selfishness of people like you. Personally I think the penalties were way too soft.

Take your own advice maybe. If YOU do not like the way the survivor plays either D/Cing or dieing on one hook then take a break. Your argument it is very one sided. You tell him to get over it and accept the way a killer plays well let the survivor do the same. Also if people are D/Cing that much with you as killer then maybe ask yourself why they are D/Cing because I cannot imagine people just do it for fun. I would only D/C if the killer is being a complete toxic player because the que time and load time can be long sometimes and then to D/C after all that, you must have bothered me enough I would guess.

I also can honestly say I do not see many D/C's so for it to be a problem with you it could be for a list of reasons. You could be playing toxic and camping and tunneling and then in that case good for them for D/Cing or, you could do what other killers do and farm the survivors by dropping and picking back up so they force you to escape only to smack you back down. I am not saying that is what YOU are doing but just saying these would drive anyone to D/C. There is a bunch of legit reason to D/C and even sometimes it is by accident.

4th level of the third tome, it's the one right be the epilogue in the center if you go from the top killer start point. says kill the players by any means possible and do it in one match. there has been one of these in each tome. I was saying that a dc does things, robs others of points, challenges, and many other things. in your case I would hope that the killer has a disconnect penalty that they have to bear. the only REASON to use out of match capabilities to leave the match is if you are stuck in the geometry or bugged where the game will not come to an end. Those two are the only reasons you should every disconnect from the game INTENTIONALLY.

It is not your RIGHT to disconnect. not when that disconnect affects others. The First Amendment in the united states only applies to the government, not businesses or the people. and you don't know where I am from either, you are assuming that I am in the united states and that in and of itself is bad. Because the first amendment has no functionality or existance here on this forum, Behavior can decide to lock anyone's account for any reason. doesn't matter what that reason is, if it's a crappy one, then they risk others finding out and deciding to not purchase things from them anymore or play their game.

It is THEIR RIGHT because they paid for the game. I do not care about what the Constitution or whatever says. It is funny you assumed I am from there. Once again like others you assumed that I assumed or cared where you are from and I didn't and don't, but plain and simple you cannot tell someone who used THEIR OWN MONEY what they can and cannot do in THEIR copy of the game.

From what I understand they recently did a pretty big update that not only ironed out a lot of bugs, but that also incorporated single player challenges. That being said, I understand wanting to pursue other projects considering that they were basically hit with a cease-and-desist order on incorporating anything more into the Friday the 13th game.

Oh I agree 100% on wanting and needing to move onto bigger and better things but when they decided to move on from what I seen there was very big bugs. I mean escaping in the car only to have the car teleport back in the map and flip and this happened a lot. I have gotten stuck while playing Jason and could not move until someone hit me as well. I also seen a lot of random DC. I will say the game seems to have fixed a good amount but I figured with nothing else to do BUT fix bugs that game could be a well polished game and still not have the huge bugs it has.

The game still has its charm though and is fun but the other reason I stopped playing was the age group of the average player dropped to between as young as like 8 to 16 and the kids are so loud and vulgar. I know that sounds dumb but to me it is hard to enjoy a game when you have kids at that age thinking its cool to scream and swear just because to them it is new and cool but to anyone that reads this give F13 a chance it is not a horrible game. =)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1469043#Comment_1469043

It is not a victory. if I am trying to kill all 4 survivors (for challenge) a DC DOES NOT COUNT I have to play again. If I'm to unhook the person that unhooked me before and they dc then I can't do that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1469054#Comment_1469054

don't like it? then don't worry about staying in game. either afk, or attempt escape on hook. if you don't like either of those tough. it is against TOS to dc/rage quit. stop playing the game if you see it that often.

Just checking for that challenge? I cannot find the one were you have to kill all 4 survivors. I am not being rude but just asking or are you made and just saying IF there was a challenge it would be impossible with people D/Cing? I mean it it is the later question then I could say I hate when a killer hooks me IF I am trying to do a challenge that I have to play without getting hooked, which there has been one, or if I am doing a challenge where I must escape using Dwight.

I have had a killer D/C because they did not hook one person and because I did not escape out the gate I could not complete the challenge. I did not get mad and laughed and moved on. I say you do you and if people get punished then you may lose players all together who hate that because their internet crashed, and that has happened to me, get in the banned que time for something out of their control. I had one match I was dead and in the loading screen for the end results so me turning my game off should not have mattered, but I got a drink and went to play again and had a 10 minute que time. I decided to take a long break from the game and play other stuff.

Also like one person mentioned above there is a good list of reasons to D/C and it is everyone rights to D/C even yours.

TBH I very rarely judge a killer for what they do in a match when I play survivor. Because I know that if I have teammates who are doing gens and can run the killer for like 20 seconds, as long as I don't ######### up I can win the match. So either the killer is doing whatever they are doing out of absolute necessity or my teammates and I are just ######### up and that's why we're losing. So yeah, I too am more likely to be upset at myself or my teammates than the killer, because Im aware the killer has a different perspective of the match.

There are some ttvs that understand the bigger picture and when they are upset at something they have a good reason... but at least in my experience, most ttvs that I go against and then watch the VOD act like they think whining about the killer is what you're supposed to do instead of getting better XD

I dunno if you saw the video with full volume, but goddamn he deliberately ignores spine chill(which is the worst thing he does), is wearing earbuds which I can't assume are as good as decent gaming headphones, so he doesn't hear Ghostface's cloth flaps, he doesn't even bother looking around to see if it's a stealth killer, especially after seeing spine chill light up. Gets grabbed and Immediately complains about Ghostface, because I guess Spine chill is not enough, he literally needs a massive sound queue to tell him the killer is coming from a mile away.

He gets unhooked and after getting healed immediately hops on a gen(which BTW with two people gets completed in 47 seconds, like the killer can just let that happen...). He sees the Ghostface doesn't pick up the Claudette, and once again SEES SPINE CHILL LIGHT UP. Doesn't even bother to let go of the gen until he sees the Ghostface, obviously too late for him to run away safely, especially since he is at a corner of the map, and then complains about being tunneled.

I have seen this level of entitlement before, but it always amazes me just how these people will not recognize making the most basic of mistakes and then whine about the other players.

It was crazy. I mean why use Spine Chill if you are not gonna watch for it. I seen that go off and he stayed there so I was like yep you were warned. I know I use Spine Chill and STILL look around so this was just all dumb on his part. lol

Whenever I play against TTVs I always check the VOD to see what they saw in the match from their perspective.

It's very interesting to see how they think, most of the time they feel victimized when they don't see the bigger picture of what's happening, or they just played poorly and don't care to see why. Like that streamer in the video you showed deliberately ignored spine chill... I guess moving the camera to see if it's a stealth killer is too much effort for him...

For instance, I had a match with clown where they 3 genned themselves because they did gens too fast to pay attention, this TTV was on a SWF with one other person in the match. Obviously once I downed someone I would hook them in the middle of the 3 gen so I could patrol it. Obviously they accused me of camping before even realizing they 3 genned themselves, after a mere like 5 seconds of me not leaving the hook area...

Same thing happens when they see I slug or tunnel someone, but they don't see what I see as killer, which is 3 gens done, a forth one at 75% and two more at 50%....

Or one time, I was playing Deathslinger, this ttv was the last survivor on Haddonfield, looking for the hatch. Instead of looking around to see if I could be following him, he basically just ran out in the open looking straight ahead of him, didn't even look side to side... Naturally, I had spotted him, and shot him from outside my TR before he made a corner, so it was a pretty good longshot. In the VOD he was talking to chat and immediately stops when he gets shot and starts whining about how Deathslinger is so boring... nevermind how carelessly he was playing and how the shot I made was a difficult shot...

I wonder how common it is for survivors in general to complain about stuff when they play poorly or can't see the whole context of the match before they start feeling victimized by the big bad killer, and ttvs are just a little glimpse of that we actually get to see. And there's probably killer ttvs that are just as unreasonably whiny...

I agree it is all in the perspective of the player but it does happen I think more with people that stream because god forbid they look bad in front of their followers. I mean who wants to watch someone suck at a game so it is better to blame others then their own lack of skill or self awareness. I mean I have played a few games as survivor where I did get mad but that is actually more at fellow survivors then the killer. I mean when I am using kindred and you see the killer camping and instead of doing gens, not 1, not 2, but all 3 come in to stand there and pretty much watch me die. GO DO GENS while i waste the killers time.

I actually respect good killers and yes there are certain killers I respect more when played well like Nurse and Clown. I know people say legion stinks but I personally love him/her because they can cover a good amount of the maps. I know I am off topic but overall I will sum it up by saying simply it is human nature to try to place blame in places other than ourselves sadly.

I think this person did the right thing and does it suck this guy got down so soon, sure but it is his own fault for not taking Spine chill's warning and thinking the killer should not touch him while on a gen. Heck he may have even left him alone had he not been on a gen but sitting on a gen he needed to be stopped.

If the game is getting bots as a way to take over for players that disconnect, and that are designed to play at different difficulty levels given the ranks of the people in the game, then I see no reason why these bots couldn't be used to create a single player mode. It was done for Friday the 13th, so why not DBD?

I agree but I hope they are much smarter and less buggy then F13. That game lost me when the fact they could no longer add new stuff, I figured okay then maybe they will take the time and polish what they have. Nope they instead pretty much said okay we are done and left the bugs, so the AI will randomly run into doors and just keep running and then sometimes they will even just walk to you. I actually wanted to like F13 but the creators themselves gave up on the game when they could have polished that and fixed the AI.

I really hope the AI does come and plays at the proper level giving. I mean if the killer is a BOT they could maybe place the level at the highest or second highest survivor rank and the other way around. If a survivor D/C's the AI will play at the killers rank. Just an idea for thought.

  • IF the player d/c take it as a win and move on. =) No need to get mad. The only person the loses out really is the person that d/c's and gain no points and wasted their own time.

  • I will be honest if I know the killer has a mori I will either die on hook or sometimes DC. I only do it because 8 out of 10 times the killer will tunnel me once off the hook in hopes to use their Mori. I do not mind being Mori but I hate when someone tunnels just to use it. I personally never use Mori but I do not mind others using it but please do not make that the only reason for the match. Go pressure the others because the killers that stand there and wait to get the mori waste more time then just pressuring the others and getting me later. =)

  • I feel dumb asking but was this actually a thing? Did the devs mention they were gonna add bots or were thinking about it? I am trying to find info but so far nothing. I mean I guess it would be better to have a AI teammate when someone D/c's then no one. At least it is another body to help distract the killer. =)

I found articles and a youtube video and so far it seems mobile exclusive but MAYBE other platforms and I say sure bring it to us. I would rather have a AI try then a body lay there on the ground because someone rage quit. lol

  • @azame said:

After using this forum for some time the amount of killer bias here is insane. Any thing that even slightly benefits survivors is looked down upon. I think the main reason for this bias is do to the fact that in the past survivors were op but nowadays they arent that strong.

But because of the effects of 2016-rarly 2018 real survivor problems are ignored and that's not good. If we continue to ignore problems survivors face the player base will decline and the killer wait times will increase and inevitably the game will die.

Killer mains stop looking at survivors as someone out to ruin your game and look st them as a human wanting to have fun playing too.

I'm tired of the us vs them mentality why cant it be just "us." Why can't we look at all the problems as a whole and work to fix them. I ask killer mains and survivor mains alike play the opposite side and get good at it try to understand their struggles.

For you killer mains that say survivor is op go plag solo survivor at rank 1 and ask yourself do you want to play swf or that. For you survivor mains that think killer is op go play wraith on ormond and ask yourself is this even fair.

You guys know moris and keys right? Yeah they are both broken they both need reworks. The point I'm trying to make is that we need to get together and combine the community rather than divide and only then will dbd improve its health.

Oh please not the Key and Mori thing. I have seen even killer mains on youtube say Mori is certainly OP and much more broken than any key. Yes the key is super strong in SWF groups but in solo que you are lucky if one survivor gets out. Then I did not know this until the person I was watching on youtube mentioned it but even with a key if the killer finds the hatch and closes it and just stands right on it, key or not you cannot open it. The mori's have no real defense other than dont get caught which I mean yes is easy logic but that is not a real line of defense for everyone because someone WILL get caught and tunneled.

The key has so much you need to do and heck I ran the entire map 4 times over a few games ago and left out the gate because I could not find the hatch. When I looked, I mean I looked all over and in between boxes and on hills and in patches of grass. I slow walked everywhere and waited for the open hatch trigger but nothing. Oh also add the fact that if you bring the key in 8 out of 10 times the killer tunnels and kills you and you never even get the chance to look for the hatch that has not spawned yet. I mean it just makes the key OKAY at best in SOLO QUE and I agree OP in SWF. I think that is what is breaking survivor side is the SWF.

Just like I said way before the person on youtube said it but the key is OP in certain situations but Mori is always OP.

I do agree though with your post and that people need to walk in each other shoes before claiming EVERYTHING is OP. I mean heck I hate mori's but I wont say delete them. Yes some matches stink but that is the best part about this game, every match is different and you may have a crap one then a great one right behind it. =)

Hope everyone has a great time playing! Please be nice to each other. =)

No I swaer I diden't played toxic until the end. The only toxic thing in this Match was the slug and the nod.

And tbh is it against a rule to play as Spirit? I mean I don't care what anyone else is playing (perks/killer)

Well to be honest you seem to be either shocked they were mad or find it funny it seems. It might even be both but I mean from where I am sitting I can kind of see why. Your first post you admit you knew Spirit is pretty much OP and Unfun to play against and I will admit she is but I still try. Then in the match you not only leave him on the ground but acknowledge it by nodding at him. Okay this so far is sounding like you went out of your way to be toxic. Then at the end when the one person calls you a piece of doodie, instead of singling him out you then say EEEZZZY. That is a slap in the others face who have done or said nothing wrong and now I know why they were all mad.

I mean you do you but personally I tend to think the moves you did were toxic and honestly you started it by letting him bleed out and knodding. Then saying EZ after using a killer you already knew was very strong. I guess the best thing to say is put yourself in their shoes. I think that is what is wrong with not just this game but well the world. We are busy thinking about ourselves and hurting others. I mean if you just hooked him and he died and then he said this crap then sure I would say he was a salty survivor and just upset he lost but it sounds more like the fact you trolled him and watched him die.

I just play the way I would want to be treated when I play killer. I would never leave anyone to die and just dislike toxic behavior on both sides but it is your game and you paid for it so play however you like. =) ......See you in the OUCH this damn fog is thick and that wall came from no where......anyway see you in the fog.....mwhahahaha

This is completely untrue. First of all, both sides have to invest to get perks. As survivor, you max as many as you want, same as killer. I have 5 killers maxed and will likely never max any others. They are the five I like to run. I know several killer mains who have only one killer maxed because it is the only one they like to run. Nobody HAS to max 20 characters. That is a choice.

Maybe I misunderstood your statement below:

"Maybe instead of complaining about not making more BP (EVEN THOUGH SURVIVORS REALISTICALLY ONLY NEED TO MAX OUT ONE CHARACTER WHILE KILLERS NEED TO MAX OUT 20+ WHILE KEEPING A HEALTHY SUPPLY OF ADD-ONS AND SURVIVORS DON'T), you should ask for the grind to not be, I dunno, a grind."

What is it killers need to max out?

Unreliable , the killer just shifts there head while still moving at greater movement than the survivor , the only time to really get the flashlight stun is during an animation lock a knife or sling shot would work map wide specifically when you happen to be in a dead zone

I actually kind of agree. I feel like flashlights are harder to aim and hit with than throwing a a hatchet blindly. I mean the crazy hit box that killers have and yet a flashlight can't hit when I am standing in front of the killer with the flashlight in his eye socket. lol I have been hit with hatchets and other things but I am sure others have seen these crazy things. I never use flashlights and love when I play killer and I see people using them. They are not weak but just super hard to use. I hope to get better. =)

Oh look, made more than the "average" and more than the killer:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/49IQ3SRL5X5E/image.png

Here's one around the time I came back from my DBD break. Above the average and around the killer's BP.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SAAM9WOEYTGO/image.png

And there's been plenty more. Of course, I don't screen shot every match where I get a good BP number as survivor or every time a killer gets a pitiful amount of BP.

Like, I don't understand. Survivors share BP (between gens, totems, being chased by the killer, doing saves, etc) between three other people, and survivor is a much easier role than killer. They shouldn't consistently make as much or more BP as them, and they have not once, not twice, but three times increased the amount of BP survivors get in the past year and a half. They made totems give more BP (twice). They gave BP for wiggling even if you don't escape, they gave BP on dying or living as the obsession.

Maybe instead of complaining about not making more BP (even though survivors realistically only need to max out one character while killers need to max out 20+ while keeping a healthy supply of add-ons and survivors don't), you should ask for the grind to not be, I dunno, a grind.

Why does survivor side only need to max one character but killers need to max 20+?

I figured both sides need to max all if they want to unlock all perks to be taught to each character? I could be wrong but like I need to max Dwight to unlock his perks so Kate can learn them in her blood web. The same goes for the killer side. I need to max Hag to have her perks on Legion.

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1462854#Comment_1462854

Both sides are dependent on each other for a good amount of BP. Again, what is your point?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1462946#Comment_1462946

It is not in any shape, or form imbalance. Killer is the harder role. They have more to do, and require more strategy. Therefore, they get more bloodpoints. Killers getting more BP is also seen as an incentive to play killer. So, if you want the BP, play killer. Earn it.

Killer is not that hard. I mean I have played many rounds as killer and dont even hook anyone once. I run around fooling around and maybe slug and let the people go and get an easy 15k without trying. How is that hard earning what Survivor side gets while they work and trying. I mean survivor side can do a ton of work and at average get 14-22k. As a killer we can literally run around acting foolish and get that in our sleep. lol

You are right killer side is harder though if you are a killer who needs to get that 4K every match and the 30+ k BP every match but it is super easy to get what the survivor side gets while they work hard while not trying at all as killer. I still enjoy playing survivor though from time to time. =)

If the killer tunnels one person, they aren't getting a lot of BP either. What's your point?

You make a valid point that the killer does not get good BP then but once again the survivors still heavily depend on a killer doing their job and giving chase. If the killer chooses to tunnel and camp one survivor then he deserves his lack of BP but it's sad the other side is punished as well even if they try to get the killer to chase and they don't. It is a hard debate really and there is no right answer sadly.

You assumed that I assumed you were a killer main. I never assumed you were a killer or a survivor main. I spoke openly to any killer who plays and gets upset that one person escaped.

Yes, because it's standard practice to speak openly when you're talking with one person and responding to what they're saying.

Also to your point you are right about survivors doing bare minimum to make the hatch spawn but how often do you see this situation compared to the mori situation?

More often. Moris are rarely present in my trials, makes me wonder if it's a regional thing.

You are using a far out example when a few others even point out how killers camp just to get the mori. I will say though your 0.0001% scenario has merit.

I didn't realize you had statistical information about each situation. Please post your data so we can all look at it. Either that or admit you're claiming my scenario is unrealistic because it makes it easier to dismiss.

I was not only talking to you but anyone that reads this. I double checked but I am pretty sure this is a forum for everyone and anyone to read.

I am also wondering now how different each game is and if it is not just regional but also the platform you play on. I play on Switch so that may be why my experience is apparently widely different than yours.

I did not claim it was unrealistic because even with that small of a percent it still makes it real. It just lowers the chance of it happening.

I want to say it was fun but gonna go play some games and hope you have good luck in your games as well. =) You made the start of my day fun and I like a good debate. Later my new friend! lol

You were speaking of the bare minimum you needed to do as a killer to get a mori, so I did the same with the key. Is there a problem?

Well you are right if you are the last survivor THEN the hatch will spawn but then do you really need a key if the hatch is already open?

The killer can close the hatch, as you said.

I mean sure if the killer closes it but then as a killer I mean if you are that upset ONE person got away you need to take this game less serious. lol

I'm a survivor main. Haven't touched killer since I got the crowns for them, and even then it was one farming round each, just to get it over with ASAP.

Pro tip: Don't assume which side people play. It doesn't usually end well.

    Pro Tip: Don't assume I assumed =)

You assumed that I assumed you were a killer main. I never assumed you were a killer or a survivor main. I spoke openly to any killer who plays and gets upset that one person escaped.

Also to your point you are right about survivors doing bare minimum to make the hatch spawn but how often do you see this situation compared to the mori situation? I can say I have never seen someone bring a key just to go hide in the corner and wait for everyone to die. You are using a far out example when a few others even point out how killers camp just to get the mori. I will say though your 0.0001% scenario has merit. It is possible even with how little of a chance it has to happen that a person will bring a key just to sit and wait for us all to die then find the hatch. I agree now to get rid of keys based off of this very unlikely scenario now. =)

I will simply agree to disagree on this one because we wont ever agree but I do see some merit to your points because I can admit to not being right. Have a good day and happy playing. =)

They both can be handy to have...but a severe irritant to play against.

The thing about keys is that they're visible in the pre-game lobby. This gives the opportunity to equip Franklin's Demise for example.

There is some suspicion that a Mori has been equipped when the killer icon doesn't turn around on the match load screen, but it's not a definite confirmation.

A mori can be easily performed in certain circumstances: quickly hook a survivor, mildly camp the hook, the survivor is unhooked without BT, they get hit again...game over, thanks for coming. The survivor could of been waiting for a match for some period of time, and it's highly unsatisfying to be snubbed out early in the match with minimal effort.

A key can give a very good chance of escape if held/found by the final survivor. If the original key holder is sacrificed, another survivor can go to their hook and retrieve the dropped key. If the killer closes the hatch, they'll often go and patrol the gates. If the survivor is lucky, they can observe the hatch closure or find the closed hatch and simply reopen it and escape. This can be highly irritating for a killer who wanted that 4K or was going for some kind of achievement/challenge.

Both sides will often punish the other for equipping a key or a mori. A survivor holding a key will regularly be tunnelled and a killer who begins to unleash a mori could be subjected to 'toxic' survivor behaviour.

As a killer, if I notice an overly spicy squad appear in my lobby, I will occasionally equip an ebony Mori. But I'll just keep it up my sleeve and dish it out only to punish naughty behaviour.

Thank you for actually understanding. I agree with everything you said. =) If you can direct this to Orion maybe he will understand your points better. =)

Most Mori users I have seen this week alone are a one chase, hook, then camp. If someone rescues them they smack them and Mori them.

That can be countered: stop feeding campers. Don't blame the mori because someone else ######### up.

A key can only be used if the number of gens done to spawn the hatch.

The hatch can spawn and open at 0 gens because it always spawns and opens for the last survivor. It's been that way for quite a while now.

So now your point is to being the last survivor? Well you are right if you are the last survivor THEN the hatch will spawn but then do you really need a key if the hatch is already open?

So you can't prep for a mori which is one hook your dead but a key that takes 4 gens and a escape hatch is to strong?

A mori is two chases and one hook, minimum, unless I missed an update where killers can get survivors on hooks without chasing them.

A key can be used at any number of gens, even if the killer has already closed the hatch.

Most Mori users I have seen this week alone are a one chase, hook, then camp. If someone rescues them they smack them and Mori them. I am guessing you have had better luck in mori users but my experience is different. It normally ends with one chase one hook then a slug because the killer camped and a dumb survivor saved them and then a mori. In the end my experience with mori users is pretty toxic. They get the kill either way really.

A key can only be used if the number of gens done to spawn the hatch. The number of survivors alive + 1 generator. That means if all 4 survivors are alive you still need 5 gens. If 3 survivors left then you need 4 gens and so on. If you can manage to get the hatch to spawn and escape with all 4 you deserve it key or not. I mean if they get all 5 gens done and you have not killed one person that is on you not the key. Do not blame the key for the lack of skill. I would love to see a video where someone uses a key and all 4 people get out at only one gen done. lol

I just think the kill animation is neat. And i don't yet have teachable perks that give you kills like Devour Hope or rancor.

I usually use the Green one though. Red Moris are unfair

I think the kill animation is cool as well but the mori's themselves are way to easy to use. One hook then tunnel and poof dead. I play killer more than survivor these days and will not use mori's because how easy it is to end a game with it. I do say though play however you like. =)

You can't really prep for a mori no matter if the killer got it mid game or even just came in with it. All you can do is hope you are not the one that gets hooked once.

You're not supposed to be able to. That's why you can't see the killer. On the other hand, the killer is supposed to be able to prepare for items, and one as powerful as the key shouldn't spawn in chests.

    @Orion

So you can't prep for a mori which is one hook your dead but a key that takes 4 gens and a escape hatch is to strong?

IS a key really that powerful? I mean I give it to you it can be in a SWF team who can strategize and abuse it but in a solo que best of luck. You are lucky in a solo que if one person can escape with a key. I am lucky that when I play solo que survivor instead of killer that IF I even have a key that I can make someone listen enough to follow me. In the end normally only one person escapes because no one knows to follow one another so even with a key only one person escapes. I do not call that OP. lol

  • @Orion said:

I dislike the idea of keys spawning because it'd be like the killer randomly getting a Memento Mori mid-trial. There's no way you can prepare for random chance like that.

You didn't have to bring any particular perks or items to escape with crowns, BTW.

You can't really prep for a mori no matter if the killer got it mid game or even just came in with it. All you can do is hope you are not the one that gets hooked once.

To the crown thing you are right about not needing a particular perk to get the crown but my teams because I play solo que smelled would spend most their time hiding because i would get new players. I would hope to find a key and only use it IF I needed to. I would do gens and hope my team would help. If they all got killed then hatch time and hope my perk helped me find a key and GET THE CROWN, SAVE THE TOWN AND MR. KRABS! lol

Also then the killer did not know i found a key and could just not tunnel me.

  • @Orion said:

Moris are fine, keys shouldn't spawn in chests.

I like the idea of keys spawning because they are very rare anyway plus then the killer can't just tunnel that one person they seen bring one in at the start. It seems to happen a lot when someone brings a key in the killer tunnels them dead. I mean I do not blame them but I started using that perk that gives me rare items in chest just to find a key during my match so I could escape with my crown.

  • @BansheeEC said:

I'm playing both sides and think both things are op. A Mori should just be usable when every survivor got hooked once, so the killer isn't tunneling a survivor off the hook anymore just for the Mori.

A purple key shouldn't do the exact same thing as a rainbow key. The purple one should just be for 1 person and the rainbow key for more person (or a timer should be added for how long hatch is gonna be opened)

I agree and do no understand the difference in keys because not many people use them for any other purpose but the hatch. I will say though just as a thought.

Mori's are OP in every game no matter it be against Solo Que Survivors or SWF. Keys are really only OP when used in a SWF team because they can communicate and plan. Is the key really OP or the SWF that uses it?

  • @DeanWinchester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1443206#Comment_1443206

Exactly. Mori’s can screw both sides over for points, depending on how the killer decides to play. With Franklin’s Demise being buffed now to completely destroy items, it’s gonna be even worse lol.

You get tunnelled into oblivion if a killer sees you have a key with you. So, I don’t really know what the answer is either way. I would prefer if ebony mori’s were only able to be used on death hook. And if they REALLY wanted to nerf the key, I’d say have it where only the survivor holding the key can use the hatch & it’s closed again immediately after they jump in.

I agree to the Key idea but like I mentioned to the other person I kind of feel like Keys are only OP in SWF teams where they can be planned and used as a team. In solo que games it takes a miracle to get one even two out together let alone all four players. I mean if you can plan and get everyone out with a key and doing the gens and no mics you deserve to get out.

Now Mori's however are OP in any situation. They can be used against a SWF team as easily as solo que survivors.

Overall I feel Ebony Mori is OP in every game and Keys are OP with SWF Teams and just meh in solo que. I think SWF make keys look OP.

So as an example, playing a match of killer yesterday I saw that the survivors had a key but the person using it managed to avoid me most of the game (it was a Claudette, big surprise). I’d hooked the other three survivors twice so they were all on death hook, and in this time they had managed to complete 4 gens, but on the other side of the map so they left me with an easily defendable 3 gen. I downed one of the death hook guys and had to choose between killing him and potentially letting the other three escape through the hatch (I knew they were a SWF so this was likely), or playing around the key. So what I ended up doing was slugging the three dead on hook and chasing the guy with the key until I caught him. He ended up dying on his first hook and everyone else ate dirt. Not a particularly fun end to the match for them.

I really don’t agree that survivors finishing some gens and finding the hatch means they deserve to escape just because they brought an item. Maybe this is because I play low mobility M1 killers. I need to not camp or tunnel so I must hook everyone three times on rotation, and also defend gens, and then on top of that play around keys. I can’t kill anyone too early because that wouldn’t be fun, but if I kill someone too late the others can key out. I can’t fall back on a three gen but I don’t have enough mobility to patrol all the gens quickly. I’m supposed to not worry about gens popping early because it’s not the end of the match, but keys make it so it can be. I basically have to snowball and get everyone down at once, and survivors are the ones that allow that to happen.

And yeah, I don’t use moris or keys either. I personally don’t find it fun cutting the game short, and keys just get you tunnelled a lot of the time.

I will say you make a good argument but my counter point is the SWF thing. In a basic solo que, the way the game was intended and the way I play survivor even with a key I am lucky to get out let alone somehow organizing the others to follow. That would be a miracle in itself. I honestly think and it is probably dumb but it is because of SWF teams that keys are consider OP but in a basic solo que game Mori's still are just as strong as normal and keys cannot be an organized weapon because solo players cannot talk and plan. That is why I find keys OP giving the situation but Moris always are OP in any situation. I am also sorry you got stuck against SWF because I really dislike these players because they cause people to want nerfs making the game harder for us solo ques.

I also am with you and never use mori's are keys because I like playing the entire game. I like to use skill instead of a OH CRAP button. =)

  • @DeanWinchester said:

Both are a pain in the ass, but moris can end the game real quick and rob survivors of points. Especially with tunnelling. At least with keys you gotta complete all / most of the gens to be able to use it. And even then, there’s Franklin’s Demise. Survivors don’t have anything to counter a mori other than giving it their all to not get caught lol.

You make a good point and I did not even think about that. Franklin's Demise is a good counter. I forgot about the two games I watched after I died and someone was forced to drop their key and did not even notice it was gone until it was to late. Then it is a good luck finding it situation. You are right the only counter to Mori is just don't get moried or caught.

I will say Mori however does not just rob survivors of points but also killers. If you kill the survivors so fast you lose valuable chase points and hook points and pressure points. I mean I have had games where I got many more points and the survivors escaped over a game where I MORIED 3 and 1 got away.

I just think and once again my opinion so just take it as a dumb persons thought but, I feel like people only want keys reworked because it is only fair if mori's get reworked but it seems to me we can all agree Mori's are stronger so how can we say keys are on the same level?

  • @xenotimebong said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/171920/keys-and-moris

Moris are stronger, but I see keys way more often personally.

I think they both have a negative impact on gameplay. Seeing a mori/key changes your playstyle for the worse. I hate seeing a key and knowing that I have to play scummy or just let people escape, or seeing a mori and knowing I have to rush gens to the exclusion of absolutely everything else.

Well I don't feel it changes your game play. I mean if I see a key I play the same way as I always do as a killer. I mean if they can get 4 out of 5 gens done and find a hatch they deserve it. I do see though what you mean and how it could change a killers play style for more of the scummy sense. I mean it may make a killer camp just to get a kill because other than that I am not sure how you could play scummy when someone has a key because the goal is still stop gens and kill.

When I play survivor and see a Mori I do not think gen rush because if you are at a gen most the time at least in my experience in solo que once a Mori is discovered people tend to hide and hope to find the hatch and be the last survivor. I end up being the one person doing gens and then getting killed. lol

I also find it interesting you are seeing keys more than mori's. It is interesting and probably because we are playing on different platforms. I personally almost never see a key or even use one because the chance of getting to ACTUALLY use it is slim. The funny thing is it is the opposite reason I do not use Mori's and why I have a big collection of them. It is because they are to easy to use.

Thanks for the feedback and your thought and opinion. =)

  • @PokemonGOPlayer said:

    Moris are 100% stronger.

Moris are like what Keys would be if the hatch spawned after the 1st Gen was completed, even if they could only make the Survivor who used it escape.

    A petty, personal, quick victory.

I feel the same way but was afraid like always, people would assume I was a survivor main when in fact I play killer just as much. I just feel like Mori's are ways to make a game end fast when in fact a key can only be used at almost the end? I am not sure how a key is considered OP in the hands of solo survivor players like myself. I can understand them being OP in SWF teams who use them and all escape but, half the time if a key is in a solo que game only one person gets out anyway. Ebony Mori is OP no matter SWF team or Solo que game.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

Both are op and need to be reworked but moris are definitely stronger

Thank you for giving feeback. I thought the same thing. I just am not sure how they can rework keys. I mean you already need to do 4 out of 5 gens then find the hatch. I mean you need to do at least 1 more gen then current survivors. The only thing I can think of is to make a timer on the hatch but then that can kick you in the butt. If there is a timer on using a key then if you are the last survivor and let's say the killer closes the hatch then you are as good as dead and might as well sit in a locker. I would like to see how they do it if they do. =)

I hate to sound jaded, but survivors pretty much never, ever, not even once, are considerate of killers in any way.

So yeah, constantly hearing about how killers need to be nice about every little desire that survivors have gets old.

Well you cannot say survivors are NEVER EVER kind to killers unless you played against every survivor out there. I personally will let a killer down me or even kill me if the poor killer had a bad game and did not get one kill. I believe the kindness road goes both ways.

  • I will simply say and I am probably wrong but I feel it is only to strong when used in those SWF teams who can plan when and how to use it. I play solo survivor and almost never even see this perk. I just feel like everytime people cry for a perk to be nerfed on survivors it only hurts solo que and not SWF players. Then this makes solo survivor players either stop playing or play less and then you may see a rise of SWF. If the game becomes to hard for solo players because perks are getting nerfed thanks to SWF players then all that will be left is the SWF.

Sorry I know I am probably wrong but just saying the real problem is SWF who cancel out a major part of the game by using mics. The game was built to play without mics and not to be able to plan every single move and what perk every survivor is gonna use. I think overall the perks themselves are fine but the people that use them are the problem. =(

Not even gonna address the pokemess. But I think the licker would be a fantastic addition and not at all impossible. I mean, they got PH right? Silent Hill franchise isn't known for cross over collaboration much, as opposed to RE who's even been tossed into MHW. His power could be being able to climb over walls and loop objects, maybe perch on them and snipe with tongue. Survivors would obviously be Leon and Claire, most likely, but they could do what they did with Heather and skin in Chris and Jill and the rest. The incentive is there too, I imagine a lot of people would splurge for a Wesker skin. I can dream.

THANK YOU! You at least know the pokemon idea was just for fun and a funny thing. My RE idea was my serious one and yes I think even if the licker was not the killer which he would be a cool and good addition, but there is many more they could pick. Then survivors the list goes on. I would love to see either JIll, Ada, Chris, or leon. The 4 main that started the game well next to Rebecca.

Emerald was the best main storyline game. There was soo much to do in that game it was amazing. Great story, tons of legedaries to catch, and the battle frontier.

But yea I still believe Colosseum an XD are the best pokemon games of all time. It's sad how Sw and Sh 16 years later can't even live up to Colosseum. I wish they'd remake Colosseum and XD so I'd have a reason to buy a switch instead of some half baked garbage that can't even compare to those games. I'll just leave this here:

    https://youtu.be/I1mBKVcmASw

I will be honest and I am sure I will get hate for this but the Remake of Pokemon Snap is not that great to me. I thought it was a cute game but the way people acted over the game I never understood. I mean ride a predetermined path and take pictures? You can already take pictures in the pokemon game. Why are people so excited for this game? Is it just another case of nostalgic glasses?

  • This guys seems to have taken my joke idea as my serious one and did not read the ACTUAL POST to see what my main idea was. He is trying to take a light hearted topic and make it into a toxic thread. lol
