This is all better than I could have said it and exactly true.

Survivors aren't supposed to win 1v1s. Period. You are not supposed to never go down and not supposed to win a 1v1. if you could the game would be unplayable for most Killers.

Wiggling is not a get out of jail free card. If you want it to be, there's perks to help with that. Wiggling is there to waste the Killer's time if they don't go to a hook, it's a way to prevent Killers from holding one Survivor hostage on their shoulder all round. It's not meant as anything more.

Survivors are not intended to beat the Killer. They are intended to avoid the Killer, by any means necessary, for long enough to do all the gens as a team and get out. You are not supposed to beat the Killer, because the Killer is meant to be stronger.

So what part or the game is supposed to be fun for the survivor in your opinion?

  • In order:

    Huntress

    Skull Merchant

    Chucky

    Deathslinger

    Hillbilly

    Twins

    Blight

    Doctor

My point is that there's not really any god loops and most maps are not bad for killer anymore, nor are there things like unlimited dead-hards, etc. Which were all justifications for Bloodlust getting buffed.

When has bloodlust 1 been buffed? Maybe its not on the wiki, but looking at the wiki every change has been a nerf to bloodlust 1 and/or only impacted bl 2 / 3.

Generally, bloodlust seems like a central mechanic of the game at this point (in my opinion, a good one). I could see the argument for it getting a minor nerf, but doing away with it would be pretty big change.

Hitting greats used to grant more wiggle progress.

I wouldn't call that the old system, the old system was the key mashing one.

I don't think Bloodlust should get removed entirely, I just think it should be a lot more rare tbh. You have so many killers starting chases with playing for bloodlust.

  • @Yggleif said:

Maps aren't balanced though. They were balanced but BHVR keeps touching them and they broke again. A lot of maps either have too many pallets or not enough and so e of the new jungle gyms are very questionable.

I feel like if there are maps that are great for killers and there are maps that are great for survivors then that's a good balance? I feel as though if every map was the same power level it would get boring fast.

My point is that there's not really any god loops and most maps are not bad for killer anymore, nor are there things like unlimited dead-hards, etc. Which were all justifications for Bloodlust getting buffed.

How is "new wiggle" any different to "old wiggle" apart from not having to destroy your A and D keys?

This just reads like another 'I'm mad I can't lobby shop anymore.'

I can't with these forums sometimes.

It's so funny because OP expected people to forget you can prestige 100 a character without ever playing them.

I wouldn't bother. They'll pull out some obscure clip of a Blight player with all colours muted except for red and then act like 99% of filters users do the same when in reality all most of us do is slightly alter brightness or contrast (within bounds that most modern monitors and TVs can too).

At this point better start running hardware checks and banning people who intentionally play on Low settings to reduce foliage since it's an objective advantage.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

I mean, just about any perk, item, map, tile, or combo that allowed any kind of outplay has been cried about incessantly and deleted from the game.

Where exactly are you going to find skill expression on, say, haddonfield: a tiny shoe box with nothing but dead zones?

Your post seems less about actual skill expression and more of a back handed attempt to complain about survivors wanting to go next. Which, ironically enough, when you delete most every form of skill expression, it shouldn't be surprising that people are less inclined to play the game on the losing team.

You go play killer, which similarly has lost skill expression, but instead you can slam your face on the keyboard and average out a 60% kill rate instead.

So glad people can see this. Makes me feel less crazy.

Fnaf has been talked about for a long time. I agree with you that things are changing, and the biggest changes are still yet to come. Time will tell but I do wonder… if Fnaf makes it in, what will it bring? A mechanical, 100% mechanical killer is new, and I'd be most interested in how they bring it onboard. Hopefully brand new mechanics! Like… survivor objectives not being ONLY gens. (Mild tangent at the end. oops)

It's very clear the chapter is shaping up to be the most profitable the game has ever seen, which should be a good thing but I worry it will shift priorities big time.

    @Ayodam said:

Are you happy with the killer and survivor’s perks/powers? Did you enjoy the new map? Do you feel Sable is a Mary Sue money grab?

The gameplay design I feel is where BHVR struggles the most because they aren't very innovative. As such the perks for both are trash and Unknown's gameplay is w/e. I do like the illusions though.

The new map is pretty good. Visually I like it a lot and the tiles aren't the worst thing. But I'm partial to bigger maps because they feel more immersive.

She was def made to sell skins but it doesn't really matter anymore as they've been doing a good job giving everyone skins often. One of the few benefits of the game making more money.

Be careful what you wish for. Some have already been seen in the wild and some are not exactly what you'd call gentle kittens.

Besides, the game is worthless against bots.

Don't have to worry about bruising an ego?

Don't have to worry about being farmed for content?

Don't have to worry about lobby shopping?

Don't have to worry about emotionally driven gameplay?

And I get to leave whenever I want and bm as much as I want?

    Sign me up.

  • Killer bots would be preferable to a vast majority of the killer playerbase.

Bhvr can't implement then fast enough.

  • Using the cells from the BP to buy Dracula so I can finally be a wolf.

  • Old healing was really good but with sloppy nerfs I think it's fine.

99'ing a heal is still incredibly powerful.

  • Good eye, I've noticed it too, pretty sure its one guy spamming across multiple accounts to make it seem like its a pressing issue.

  • It was a dumb change but it didn't really affect much and doesn't need to be undone, there's enough loopable objects on maps that she isn't as bad as she used to be.

The biggest problem is her camping ability aka oak haft/flower babushka that need to be nerfed, I would be okay with her having chase buffs if it meant she couldn't prevent unhooks so easily.

  • This is like the only game I know where people have such grandiose fantasies about their opponents.

And exactly why I play on anon-mode, killers should be denied any access to player information in the lobby.

To be fair, the game was winnable for the Killer the whole time until then.

Yeah it was but unbreakable/ds removes the counterplay from either perk which isn't good.

Prenerfed xenomorph was bugged, and the nerf didn't make it easier to dodge it's attack or anything... THATS exactly the same.

I'm aware. But the recovery was such that it didn't matter if you dodged the attack because you'd get hit anyways.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

All Killers need some kind of chase power otherwise they are bad and unfun.

Wesker and Nemesis are good examples of okay anti-loop.

Sprit and Deathslinger are pretty awful to play against.

The problem is excessive zoning due to lethality and ease of access. Scott mentioned 'you're not dodging you're getting lucky' and he's right. The counterplay being to hope the killer messes up or is bad, not the survivor being good, at least in chase.

Naturally these killers aren't overpowered because spread efficiency still defeats them, but that doesn't exclude them from being annoying.

Pre-Nerf Xenomorph was the same nonsense.

Because you're giving a false premise, that if the survivors are found they will guaranteed die. Seems like a skill issue to me. The alternative is that 1 survivor loops, and the other does the gens. If 1 gets hooked, their teammate waits for the right moment to save, and then the cycle starts again. If the killer guards the gen that was being worked on instead of chasing, then he has 2 survivors unaccounted for which is even worse for him. It isn't always the case that there's 2 survivors left, and 3-4 gens left to do, or no pallets left to use. If that's the case, those survivors deserve to lose anyway. But anything's possible for the survivors as long as they keep trying, not hiding but actually trying to advance the objective just like they would when all 4 are alive. Looking for a survivor-sided solution to the 2v1 scenario basically suggests that survivors should never be in a losing situation, even if it's very much their fault. Others seemingly can, but I can't go along with that nonsense.

There's too much nuance and variation in the game to argue over best-case or worst-case scenario, and my response was directly addressed to the op suggesting that killers should auto-win in a 2v1.

Your last point is crazy considering my posts in this thread, if you're not interested in reading those I'm definitely not interested in repeating myself. Your call.

  • @Xernoton said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3783406#Comment_3783406

Then automatically activate the finisher mori on the 3rd survivor when they're down, if they had been revealed by this mechanic. It's that simple. Suddenly they're dead and the other survivor still has a chance to get hatch.

You make assumptions and then judge everyone on those assumptions. I don't need a free 4k. But I want a way out of a match that is over. You don't like being slugged for 4 minutes. Now imagine that for >10 minutes. None of these are good but one is clearly worse than the other.

The only reason I wouldn't take a surrender option is because it would incentivise the last 2 survivors to hide in the hopes the killer will surrender eventually.

We are not even talking about a fair game anymore. Because not doing objectives for extended periods of time is considered against the rules by the devs. With good reason.

You're thinking too small. That's not a solution either.

Imagine how crappy it'd be for the killer if swf's could just bring hatch offerings and go down away from the location or afk at the gate for a virtually guaranteed escape.

At least now the killer can slug or at least travel to the spot during the sacrifice animation.

I must reiterate, it's a complex problem that requires reworking how kills and escapes work towards winning or losing, that's why nothing has been implemented yet.

It being reportable is a temporary fix to discourge it from happening every game, and I'd really like to see evidence of people getting consistently punished for it or a dev comment.

  • @Xernoton said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3783277#Comment_3783277

Sorry. I can't answer both of you in one post for some reason.

You are wrong about the 4k. It's a guaranteed 3k if the survivors don't do gens because the other one still has a chance at hatch. Which is exactly the same result that we have now. Only that it wouldn't take a ridiculous amount of time to get a result that was inevitable. We are talking about SURVIVORS THAT DON'T DO GENS. They can't escape anyway, so it's not even a tie-breaker. They will lose simply because they don't progress their objective.

The only question at that point is, how long will it take? The answer to this question should not be 25 minutes or longer.

Except you assume that the killer would hook the revealed survivor.

In most 2v1 situations the killer slugs the third person who gives up to get the 4k. Why would this be any different?

It's really not about wasting time, killers do that already.

My assumption is that this frustrates killers because for once it's a mutual waste of time and a denial of a free win.

Claiming that every 2v1 is a loss so the killer deserves a 4k is a flawed perspective you guys in this thread have due to heavy bias and completely ignores the nuance of every match and survivor team, and exactly why I told you in my first reply that BHVR hasn't changed anything in this regard yet, it's not an easy problem to fix.

For once I'm glad they don't listen to the players on this subject.

  • @Xernoton said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3783184#Comment_3783184

I don't want the game to go 25 minutes with nothing happening. That's all. Would you stare 25 minutes at your TV when it's turned off? Probably not. Both are equally boring.

Also you can turn that argument around. "I like how people that don't do gens anymore just want a guaranteed escape." I understand why but it doesn't mean it's good. It's a clear flaw in DBD's core design and not really something that you can fix by giving the survivors a fair incentive. Their chances to escape would need to be at least equally high as when all survivors were still alive. But that wouldn't fair.

The solution is easy. If after X amount of time (make it 5 minutes so it can't be used in a normal game) the killer hasn't been in a chase, they get killer instinct on one survivor with the least hook stages until they either enter chase, come within a certain range (would need to be pretty close) or damage a survivor in any way. 5 minutes is long enough for it not to effect the normal game but it does still bring an end to the match if necessary.

'The solution is easy aka after five minutes the killer gets a guaranteed 4k.' That's all these suggestions are.

There's a reason why they have not done anything yet. Its extremely hard to make a tie-breaker that's not grossly favoring one side or the other, it would require reworking fundamental win-conditions of the game which takes time and effort that's probably not worth it right now.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3783184#Comment_3783184

yes i won the match to the point survivors can't even touch their objective anymore. after that point i want all survivors dead as the killer, should have been obvious why.

You won so hard that you managed to lose half the team with no clues at all, if anything the survivors left should be rewarded for being that good at stealth.

    @ArkInk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3783184#Comment_3783184

I think it's less about the 4ks and more about the 25 mins OP reported looking for people.

As a killer player, yes I like 4ks, but at that point in the match I'd be just fine if hatch spawned early just so the game can end at that point. It isn't always about winning, sometimes I make plans that involve a match not taking 20 minutes, or I just wanna grab a sandwich or smt.

I wouldn't have slugged the players for vengeance or anything, but I understand the frustration.

Hatch spawning at two survivors would feel awful for the killer, that's not a solution either.

The frustration of what? Not being given a 4k? How do you think the survivors feel after literally giving the killer a free kill and then being slugged until they bleed out because its not enough?

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

The problem is that in a 2v1, unless the last Gen is almost done, doing gens isn’t actually progressing the survivor objective. It’s just ensuring they get found and killed lol. A very common scenario: someone gets camped/tunneled out with 4 or 5 gens left, next person gets caught and gives up on hook so now there’s 2 survivors left. The game is unwinnable at that point so why would either person waste time trying to do gens? The problem isn’t hiding, the problem is unwinnable situations that grind the game to a halt.

I like how the OP and others can't just admit that they want a guaranteed 4k in a 2v1.

  • We already have like four killers that get free hits with ranged attacks we don't need another.

So wait, you're mad that a Killer that is strong and maybe a bit overtuned is a problem if someone is very good at the Killer?

… why? Why is being good at a strong Killer an issue? What's wrong with someone being a very good Hillbilly? I don't mean to imply anything, but this kind of sounds like you're really overly focused on being able to win and upset that it's much harder to handle Hillbilly anymore.

You can imply it. I do like winning.

My issue with the killers with a high skill ceiling is that it becomes obscenely difficult to play against people who are good at them because you don't get to practice against them often, so it feels helpless.

Blight can be insane if you land a Basic M1 first and then instantly rush to catch up to them and down them before they can make it to another loop.

Going through doors is impossible now with the new bump logic so I never try and rush through doorways. You’ll just spend 2 tokens trying to get through it unless you are lined up perfectly.

Surely if a survivor's being tunnelled, they didn't have time to heal anyway?

I think this'd probably be a harmless change, it's certainly worth testing. Maybe have Mangled and Haemorrhage pause as well? It could get out of hand, but I think it has enough legs to test.

The only thing I can think of is a Syringe taking longer to go off.

Bit of the ol' pot calling the kettle black here, no? I mean if we're gonna call other people biased.

Anyway, as for the topic/OP, it's a little disingenuous to go into the stream of someone who just rage quit and expect anything different. It's like when someone gets irate during an argument and tries to walk away and then wondering why they snap at you when you follow them and keep engaging. They're clearly not thrilled with you, and even if their reasoning is total crap, let it be.

I just don't get this phenomenon in general. Following someone after a match after they lost (especially if there was any indication there were bad feelings) is at best schadenfreude and at worst just toxic gloating/baiting. No good is gonna come from it.

And if you're gonna go into their thread to revel in the fact that you beat them, at least don't insult their intelligence by saying GG.

But don't get me wrong, I don't think there's any good reason to ragequit. But following a ragequitter around saying GG is a pretty flimsy pretense for being toxic.

Not really. I have never denied my bias towards survivor that is a natural result from me maining the role.

And I most definitely do not make threads or posts claiming to care for both sides. I recognize that any opinion I have on killer is lesser in most respects to someone who actually mains the role competitively because I play killer casually.

I take issue with people feigning being unbiased by just slapping 'I play both sides' on their thoughts.

  • Killer behavior and balancing has been a far greater contribution to Survivor being miserable than the occasional ragequit could ever be sorry.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/423845/154-days-vs-40-days

In case you haven’t noticed it, there is a clear bias towards survivors for cosmetics. Elodie and Felix have more outfits than Huntress despite her being in the game for 3 years longer than them.

So of course the survivor will get more cosmetics than there killer counterparts

Nice try but Huntress is literally the Feng of the killer roster and consistently receives more skins than most other killers and was not only featured in one of DBD's only spinoff games but had a skin brought over from said spinoff.

  • If you can come up with a solution that doesn't make Survivor worse off feel free to post it.

  • As long as the killer still gets free hits there is no need to change them.

Using your M2 in situations outside of an animation lock has the same risk and punishment most other M2 killers can and should have.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

My view on this is and always has been that if you down the second to last surv and you see or know where the last surv is, go for that 4K.

But if you down the second to last surv and don't know where the last surv is and spend a bunch of time scouring the map for them, that's pretty cringe behavior. Just wasting time out desperation for the 4K, which isn't the important. If you have gens left with two survs left and one on the ground, you've won. All the hatch is really is a mechanism to allow the match to end in a timely fashion.

Have the last surv escape via hatch or escaping via the hatch isn't a win or a loss, so other than having a challenge or streak going, I fail to see why anyone would slug for the 4K.

    It isn't entirely their fault.

Achievements and some rift challenges require a 4k.

That being said they need to rework those aspects of the game and then introduce a mechanic preventing slugging for the 4k entirely. Discouragement will not work.

  • The path of least resistance would be making a killer-sided mechanic that forces interaction. But this is literally only because it's a common opinion that killers are entitled to getting a 4k.

If hatch opened at two survivors left for one of them, it would solve the problem of hiding but then 4k's would be a lot less common.

As I see it, they have three options:

    1. Put in the killer favored mechanic and hope survivors suck it up.
    2. Put in the effort to make a unique mechanic that'd lead to more pity escapes.
    3. Do nothing.

It makes sense why nothing has been done. it's not an easy choice.

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism but that doesn't mean you cannot make decisions based on the information available to you at the time, and the morals you currently have.

Idk why you argue with these people. They literally don't and never will care until it's them in the hot-seat because critical thinking and reading comprehension isn't something that can be spoonfed.

I'd just say redouble your efforts irl and you'll see that real people do care and progress is on a challenging but decent pace.

  • Then I'm extra safe you Silly Goose, survivors don't get good perks anymore.

  • Thank goodness FNAF is garbage.

Won't be a struggle to not buy the chapter.

  • I would agree with all you've said aside from Huntress being skillful.

  • It's just a weird forum thing where killer mains try to boost their opinion by stating they play both sides and care for both sides despite being incredibly biased.

Sometimes killers farm after someone gives up, most of the time they don't. And I've never seen end game chat of someone complaining about a hook suicide.
