    what's the lose-lose?

    Equipping perks as survivor apparently.

  • @versacefeng said:

I'd rather end the match as soon as I can. How is me slugging out a player who doesn't want to participate any different from them suiciding on hook or me tunneling them out from 3+ gens regardless if they wanted out or not? The match is still going to be in my favor and it's going to be unenjoyable for the other survivors.

These people take it personally when their punching bags aren't giving a satisfactory struggle.

If someone goes next you either farm with the others or kill everyone quick. It's always been that simple.

or the enduranced surv reaches a pallet or vault or shack which will prolong it even more or just hit them while they gain time and distance but hey lets ignore that part

No point having an intelligent discussion with yet another killer player deciding every hypothetical must be the worst-case scenario to manipulate a point.

Kill rates do not include any game with a disconnect.

And they've already given us stats that only 3% of her kill rate includes games with anyone dying on their first hook.

This killer has a 68% kill rate naturally, not counting disconnects or deaths on first hook, and people still somehow think she needs nothing but buffs and not a complete rework.

I wish you could pin comments.

I guarantee none of the regulars or people who posted in this thread will respond to you lol.

You could pick up a downed surivor in the time he reels from the cooldown, if you got a medkit and WGLF in your hands. Let that sink in.

Medkits are finite, you can wait out the endurance or hit the healer depending on map and killer, and now half the team aren't on gens.

  • Looks like I picked a right time to do something else instead of my regular forum browsing.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

Why is it surprising to see the same perks every game?

If survivors complain here the first response is almost always something like:

If you don't want to be slugged, it's your fault for not running unbreakable.

If you don't want to be tunneled, it's your fault for not running DS and OTR.

If you don't want to be camped, it's your fault for not running kindred and reassurance.

Then we get posts like this complaining that people run the same things every game.

Because these posts are almost always exclusively made after a loss lol.

  • If you can report them why does this matter?

  • This topic is so tired.

Y'all ask the same thing everytime and get the same response, nobody cares what perks you run, everyone just doesn't want certain loadouts to be 99% miserable.

    Give it up.

The escape rate statistics show the game is only SWF sided at high MMR.

And even then it still isn't as SWF are still under a 50% escape rate.

I'm curious as to what you mean by emotional players. I think I have an idea of it but I'm not sure.

Killers who get really tilted over fair play and start humping, head shakes, hitting on hook after they get a down followed by them losing and raging in end game chat.

Always fun exploiting them with bags and waves because they'll throw an entire match just to kill someone.

    @Xernoton said:

Nope. Freddying killers is not a great plan. Under no circumstances.

  • @Rulebreaker said:

Can you atleast explain why you think Chucky needs hit or is it really because you just don't like him?

    Okay sure.

I dislike stealth killers and stealth as a mechanic in general, I do appreciate how they make the matches tense and require my SWF to actually have good comms, but Chucky is diff in the sense that he's tiny and to my knowledge his indicator isn't very reliable like GF cloak or Myers breathing, feel free to provide insight I am open to getting better.

I dislike how tiny he is, feels similar to Sadako but worse as far as mind-gaming and keeping an eye on the model while looping.

Finally, I dislike his M2, I'm okay with it going under pallets, I'm partially okay with it curving, but it's way too spammy and feels like trash if you're not at a good loop chain.

Oh yeah and he feels like a magnet for emotional players.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

Base kit unbreakable has always been a terrible idea.

Slugging is unfortunately sometimes necessary, but excessive slugging isn't. There's zero reason to slug all 4 survivors until bleed out, for example.

Just allow survivors who have been slugged until the "find help" stage to let go on the ground and go next.

The tears that would ensue if killers couldn't spitefully slug until bleedout would be so funny I hope they put in a go next button while slugged eventually.

We are supposed to be talking about the best killers against the best survivors in an equal scenario and the result is that the killer is at a disadvantage. Those same killers also achieve endless winstreaks against pubs, but that would be like matching Messi against a team formed by preschool kids.

    No.

You (killer players) always talk about hypotheticals where the best players face off against each other to claim the game is survivor sided, while the reality is that for the overwhelming majority of players, including high-mmr players, killers win most of their games.

This is true is low to high mmr, and solo to swf survivor teams.

  • The changes are probably getting tweaked, that being said this forum is a killer-sided echo chamber, not to mention some people make multiple threads about the same topic and most of the threads have the same people in them.

It's hardly a mass outrage. Most people are probably happy.

Even 1 or 2 of these changes going live has almost the same effect. And please, it was you guys who REFUSED to learn how to counter or play around SM and instead just demanded she be nerfed because she was made in a bad meta. Had plague and SM release dates been swapped Plague would be the most complained about killer easily.

There's nothing to learn that wouldn't make her less of a slog to play against. She's not strong, I win most of the time against her.

Again, you guys continued to ignore the evidence and reasoning that she was unhealthy and due for nerfs with 'git gud' and now there's an outrage over the delusions being broken.

BHVR hasn't been dishonest at all, you guys lied to yourselves.

You have no logic as you are assuming an awful lot. I would not care if survivors were able to see what killer they are going against. I am a survivor main not a killer main.

And I leave more lobbies as survivor than I do as killer simply because I get paired with people who I have played with before, and do not wish to play with again.

The only people that advocate for this are the toxic players. Because they want to be toxic. That’s why they have such a hard time getting lobbies because people don’t wanna put up with their #########. That is the consequence of being toxic. Nobody owes you anything and nobody has to play games with you. Get over yourself.

It went right over your head so I'll explain it.

The reason why survivors can't see what killers are in play is because queue rates for any killer that's strong would skyrocket. It would be a terrible change.

But with your reasoning, they should be allowed to because they're entitled to not want to play against things they dislike, if you advocate for this, you're prioritizing your wants over the health of the game.

In the same vein saying that killers are entitled to lobby shop but not survivors is just weird bias. I still don't think lobby shopping is nearly as bad as it was but at some point bhvr should completely blind both sides.

  • @drsoontm said:

If "shopping" isn't allowed anymore, it's very simple.

If I don't play my main and I see, say, four toolboxes, I'll close the game and play another one of my hundred of games and come back later.

    As I said: simple.

This mentality is exactly why they're removing your ability to do so. God bless.

    @PuddleOfBludd said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3796994#Comment_3796994

Yes,, I am entitled to leave lobbies that I don’t want to be in. I am under no obligation to play a game with any particular person.

The in game block list does not work properly and I am not going to be forced into matches with people that I’ve previously blocked. I’m not gonna be forced into matches with anyone. The fact that you think that should be the case shows me exactly what kind of player you are..

As I said, anyone advocating for this is looking to make the game more toxic and these are the kind of players that the game does not need.

Any online multiplayer game has a loading lobby. You ask why queue up? Because I can. And until that lobby timer runs out, or I press the button that indicates that I’m ready to start the match, it is at my leisure to leave if I see fit. That goes for whether I am playing Survivor or killer. As I said, I am under no obligation to play games with anyone. I have the right to choose which games I play and which games I do not.

Just as every other person has that right. What I nor anyone else has the right to do is to tell someone they MUST play the game with me. You do not have that right whatsoever in any circumstance. It does not matter someone’s reason. They simply might not like the other person. But it doesn’t matter people have the right to pick and choose who they play games with and who they do not.

This logic falls apart if I were to ask you if survivors should be allowed to see what killer they're up against.

  • I wouldn't fret. There's no way these changes go live in full.

That being said, y'all really have no one to blame but yourselves for echo chambering and deluding yourselves into thinking her kit isn't problematic. It is and it sucks to play against and heavy nerfs were always on the horizon because it's simply easier for bhvr to execute than another rework.

  • Everyone cheered.

I expect them to walk back the nerfs, but until then, good riddance

He is clearly a survivor main who has never played killer a day in his life. They are easy to spot a mile away, because they boast stats that are ridiculous in a desperate attempt to get their desired outcome.

“I never dodge games as killer and I win 90% of the time.”

Now this is a half truth. Because you can’t dodge games as killer if you never play killer.

Anyhow the only people that advocate for removing the lobby are the most toxic of players. And as everyone has pointed out, nobody owes you a damn thing.

I don’t care that you want to run four flashlights with your friends in your games. I care about that 60 seconds that I have to go pee before the game starts. I care about that 60 seconds I have to go to the fridge for a drink. I care about that 60 seconds that I have to go grab a snack. I care about that 60 seconds that I have to be able to back out if I get that important phone call that I’ve been waiting for for days. What I do not care about is toxic players entitlement.

And that goes on both ends because I want to be able to leave the lobby as a survivor as well if I get a real life thing happening. I also want to have time for the other things I mentioned as a survivor as well.

You can literally do all of those things before you queue up??

If there was a penalty for dodging it would time out before you return from any of those activities unless you do it multiple times in which why queue?

    This logic makes no sense.

Then you say that people are entitled and aren't owed anything while feeling entitled to leaving lobbies as much as you want.

This exactly like the Prestige subject before the devs thankfully used reason, the lobby should be a place to derive strategy or last minute prep on both sides, it shouldn't be a screening session or a free for all.

The problem is less important now that killers have to put in more effort to lobby shop now, but it won't really be solved until both sides are completely blind.

Can we quit the us vs. them and just agree both sides have really obnoxious playstyles and they are all valid while also being annoying but you don't HAVE to play against them if you don't want to in this casual tag game? The polarization isn't needed here.

The tribalism in this topic will continue as long as people continue to suggest the killer is entitled to lobby shop for an advantage while the survivors are expected to be completely blind in a lobby and deal with whatever they get.

Extremely interesting. This is sort of the inverse of a lot of posts I've seen from killer mains here. There was a post where someone was asking "do killer players really find [x playstyle] fun" - not even asking them to stop, just genuine curiosity about whether the playstyle was enjoyable - and the response from a lot of people was "how dare you force me to play a certain way in a game I paid for"

Not calling you out personally, because IDK what your thoughts on this are, but it's interesting to see "I don't want to play against certain playstyles" trending on the same forums. Wide range of opinions here to be sure

It's funny because killer players say slugging, tunneling, camping etc are all valid playstyles but then say survivors who Sabo or take hits with perks deserve to be bled out for four minutes.

It’s because average SWFs abuse comms and perks (exploit) to reach higher brackets against average killers, but that can only take you so far.

Using perks is an exploit now?

Honestly it makes so much sense that BM'ing killers are so common if this is the lense they see the game through.

  • @SoGo said:

Killers are winning more in every bracket.

Hey, let’s keep this dicussion tread civil. Calling players "rat cowards" or "idiots" is counter productive to our conversation here. Follow the community guidelines. People have different playstyles, and while they may not always align with your preferences, it doesn’t mean we should insult them.

Except these playstyles actively endanger the entire team and are purely for selfish purposes.

The devs allowing it doesn't make it right and it's nonsensical that you can have a selfish loadout in a game where teamwork is so important.

  • Always funny seeing bad killers attempt this without knowing how to do it properly who end up getting tbagged in the exit gate by a full team as a result.

Notice how I said "In my Experience"
BHVR can show all the data they want, which we know they love to picky and selective with anyways so I usually take it with a grain of salt and disregard it, Nurse low kill/pick rate? We better buff her then because the data said so. We know Nurse is strong but the data says otherwise so where the buffs at?

It's also not victim blaming if once again they are causing certain playstyles through their own choices, again my experience. I'll always try to win every match I play but at the same time Im not the one running all the meta stuff to give myself an advantage before the match even begins.

Nurse argument is wholly irrelevant here because it's something else entirely.

Your OP states that 'tunneling and camping are becoming more common because gen regression is getting nerfed,' if tunneling and camping have retained a consistent usage rate irrespective of regression strength, that makes this claim entirely false. There's no way around it.

As for your second point, you state that you play to win every match but don't bring the best loadout, why should you be expected to win assuming the skill levels are even? What would be the point of even playing survivor if this was the case?

  • We literally just had a BHVR employee state that internal data shows tunneling and camping has remained constant even when gen regression was strong.

Furthermore victim blaming the survivors as being at fault for how a killer plays is boring now, if all it takes for you to play to win is to start losing you were going to do it anyways.

  • This list reeks of 'I overindulge in content creators' because there's no way the average player would ever have issue with things like resurgence.

Layering it with 'well good players....!' adds even more unoriginality.

  • @Toystory3Monkey said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3794004#Comment_3794004

    pretty much it.

so many people think they're hot ######### and yet they`ve barely scratched the surface of what the survivor role is capable of (in particular, killer is way more conventional to get good at).

there's a reason why comp players ban so much stuff for survivors compared to killers unless it's nurse/billy/blight in question.

Ignoring the fact that comp is a completely different beast entirely and even in your statement you include exceptions, there is no secret gameplay that the drooling masses can't grasp, it just boils down to coordination and intent.

There's a reason why even comp players trying to winstreak can't even break 400 mark while we just had a Blight streak end in a draw due to player error despite playing against a comp team with no restrictions after +2500 games.

If the killer player is good and plays with the intent to win, they will destroy most opponents due to the fact that killer only has to pass a single skill check (no pun intended,) survivors have to pass four which is way harder to pull off.

Team Eternal literally almost lost to a Skull Merchant that was way worse than them and that was only because the killer was careless.

This doesn't mean survivors are weak, but the game is still killer sided in all brackets and the data supports this because it's just way more fruitful to be good at killer. It's rare for me to say this but BHVR has done a good job with balancing as of late, there are still some outliers that need to be addressed but I'm perfectly fine with the game being slightly killer favored if it means I still get to retain engaging aspects of survivor.

People just have a weird victim complex when discussing the game from a killer angle which leads to grossly exaggerated disadvantages that almost never reflect reality. Idc if it's us vs them but survivors are told to deal with crushing defeat after crushing defeat while people complain that they occasionally 2k.

  • It's partly BHVR's fault for pushing the power role narrative.

You now have a sizeable chunk of killer players who honestly believe they should win 90% of their matches and the remaining 10% should be due to intentionally losing.

These same people hate being outplayed and survivor gameplay is heavily scrutinized, discredited, and reduced to being spacebar and W-key only.

You have people here openly and proudly admitting to playing emotionally and spitefully while being cheered on.

This forum and reddit are killer sided though and largely an echo chamber, cause whiny survivors exist too but are mostly on Twitter or talking to their swf friends.

The solution is to not take these people seriously.

  • My SWF and I can finally play all our mains without being dodged constantly so I'd say it's been working beautifully.

My games have been more challenging as of late and less stompy too.

    "But at a rudimentary level".

So you admittedly don't have much experience as Killer and don't play it seriously, but do have it as Survivor and do play Survivor seriously. Friend, that is still bias. You're still biased. You cannot make solid claims about this game with that much bias. And you're trying to spin this as something positive because…?

This will be my last post on the subject because I want to avoid thread closure.

Filler tiles are 80-20 in the favor of a Killer who can't hit over or through them? Since when?

Every tile in the game is a filler? Since when?

Your ridiculous Survivor side bias really needs the reality check of playing Killer once in a while, all you seem to do is complain how hard the game is for Survivors without seeing how the game has also gotten less skill expressive for Killers.

I am very in tune with reality. If you're going to scrutinize my post history make sure you do it right, I've never said the game is hard or unfun for survivors currently. But there are things I'd like to be better for the side I mainly play.

I do play killer regularly but at a rudimentary level, unlike the lot of you I don't claim to be an 'unbiased both sides' player because it's not true and I recognize any perspective I have on killer holds less weight than someone who mains the role at a high level because I don't play it seriously.

    Nice. Great assumption.

Edit: whats a long tile on coldwind or mcmillan for an m1 killer? 50-50? More like 100-0 for the survivor.

Being an M1 killer is definitely not a significant hindrance compared to past iterations of the game.

For every 'long loop' there's several bad loops, increasing more as maps get updated.

  • If you aren't winning as the strongest killer with the strongest perks consistently then you won't and shouldn't ever win against good teams. It's working as intended.

It's the same type of people who call these pallets 50-50s when they're more like 80-20s in the killer's favor.

Except this was a response to a 'both sides' player who was making a claim that survivors should enjoy losing and having a giant disadvantage every game.

I personally think survivor is fun to play at the moment solely due to Iron Will being buffed which allows for a lot more skill expression. But I only play in a SWF these days.

The part where you play with your friends and it's actually a challenge to work as a team and win instead of being able to slap on 16 perks that all boost each other and easily four man out. I still have fun doing this even losing a bunch more as Survivor. Why do you and others need to win consistently to have fun? Or is this about BP gain, a totally separate issue altogether?

I want to be challenged as Survivor. I like hard games. It's sad to me that other Survivors do not.

But if I said I have fun losing on killer and I think killers should just enjoy the chase and playing a scary character even if theyre weak I'd be crazy right?

99% of games have a MMR decay system where if you stop playing for a long time you slowly derank.

That way when you return you can work your way back into things and not get cooked.

Well that's typically in ranked. I do agree that's probably how it should work for dbd as well.

But since we know it doesn't I'm just confused as to why OP thought they could go out of practice for virtually an entire chapter and come back on top.

The list of ways that people use this game for the sole purpose of being ######### to everyone else is truly endless.
