  • Range reduction and duration on oblivious would be fair nerfs imo. Even just a range reduction would be fine.

I feel like the perk is only oppressive when Randoms refuse to pick the item back up or drop it in the corner.

This is the way, if you want to hide your prestige you can, and if you don't and want to show it off, you can. Allows people to choose what they want.

I assume you'd be okay with making it so Survivor's can see the prestige of the killer in the lobby as well?

lol "victim" people dodge me when I show off my 3000 hours and the fact my friends are in the lobby with me, this is so unfair that people might feel unprepared or unwilling to face me for any number of reasons

you choose your personal preference ill show off mine and expect stronger killers

Same argument used against hiding prestige and it's clear the devs don't agree and are taking measures to discourage lobby dodging.

You are free to cling to your beliefs.

  • SM nerfs please please please.

  • I wish people who made these threads posted proof of them being high MMR.

Without any substance these threads just look like being upset at losing or being upset at potentially losing more in the future.

Steam profile, edit profile, privacy settings, private / friends only

if you can't manage this you frankly deserve to be lobby shopped

I've used anon-mode since it came out.

But I dont see why blame the victim instead of the fact that people are neurotic enough to scrutinize profiles for an advantage and BHVR should remove the ability to do so.

The end-goal being that lobby shopping would be reduced to what cosmetics someone is wearing. And even that can go too.

I did absolutely think about that. As far as i know, it seems to be extremely easy to reach the top MMR where most matches are just a sweat fest.

At the end sadly i think the best solution is just to spend an entire day or something going into matches, go afk since min 1 and let them win to low your MMR as hard as you can.

I mean is losing that bad? Instead of going AFK you might as well learn as you play.

You might end up in the right MMR sooner rather than later from the self-improvement gained.

  • @albertoplus said:

Horrible change. A lot of times i get looped extremely hard then the game ends and it was a P100.

Do i sometimes win over them? Yes for sure, but on my experience de ratio is like 25-75.

25% of the time i win easily / win but close against a P100.

75% of the time i lose extremely hard against the P100.

Everyone seems to think "hey is just a number" and thats a blatant lie, at least for me. My own experience says that P100 means skill (and, oh well, getting a P100 means a lot of time spent so its pretty normal?). Hey, or maybe i am just the most unlucky person on DBD history and im playing against the best P100 players in the world.

And the best part is someone on reddit tested hundreds of games if im not mistaken, ant the stats did show that the P100 were MUCH better that the ones that were not.

Again, horrible change. Give me some option to disable going against people that are more prestige than me, then we can hide the prestige number.

Sounds like you've been cheesing your way to an MMR you don't belong in and will finally be forced to take appropriate matches.

Losing enough games will put you back in the right MMR. This is intended.

  • @Brix said:

tbh i dont want em to hide profiles. I would love to see if x person has VAC bans so i can dodge potential hackers.

I think for survivors it might be okay, but there's no reason for killers to be able to see hours + who's friends with who and dodge.

  • Yeah I thought it was my keybinds at first but the perk is legit not working.

Good thing I don't play often. I'd say make a bug report.

  • Hopefully she gets gutted and drops in playrate

  • No more map reworks until Haddonfield gets fixed.

  • Why limit it to just 2v8? Remove her everywhere.

  • How do you even reach this level of Us vs. Them without feeling a little crazy?

  • Its only going to be fun until killers start optimizing because quick downs are even more punishing.

  • It can have a cooldown when maps are reverted to not be terrible.

  • Never been better.

It was such a brainless perk I'm glad it's gone.

"Why is everyone playing blight, the game is boring" kinda vibe here.

Everyone played and will continue to play Blight regardless of how many killers are buffed because he's one of the strongest and also fun.

Any time the devs don't do exactly what people want, they get a bunch of feedback that consists of sulking and bitterness, inarticulately screamed at them by a bunch of kids. It genuinely must suck to have to wade through so much garbage trying to find feedback that is actually useful.

I don't understand this mindset and why you feel the need to say this.

Being unhappy with bad feedback =/= abuse.

  • Good riddance.

Cool killer with a terrible kit and an even worse gameplay style.

It does not came back in its old state, the Exhaustion-part is still part of the Perk. It will be a niche Perk.

I don't think it will be niche tbh.

DH and IW will be a great combo since you get value from IW until you DH in which you can usually get away anyways.

I doubt IW will remain unnerfed for long but I might reinstall to try it lol.

  • I'd rather them just make her normal speed and give her a three hatchet cap and reduced MS while holding.

Her and Slinger having a brainless lose-lose gameplay loop because of how slow they are is archaic at this point.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Topics around survivor issues do tend to get derailed. You basically get told to stop complaining. I don't really share my thoughts anymore, I don't see the point. I've noticed alot of other familiar survivor mains don't post much anymore either.

The derailing is the worst part for sure. The whataboutism on this forum is frustrating.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

According to Nightlight the pickrate is 1,85%. I highly doubt that you see it that often. Maybe you realize it when someone has it, but I have yet to see someone using MFT.

And there is a good reason why nobody uses this Perk - it sucks. Simple as that. Of course there are some people here who want to claim that it is a strong Perk, because that what they do with every weak Survivor Perk. But the reality is that the Perk is outright bad and not worth taking.

And with a below 2% pickrate, this should be a good indicator that it is not really a strong Perk.

It's even worse when you realize a lot of killers already drop chase a lot too.

It may become better if slugging becomes more prominent though.

My dream is for players like you to be given a separate queue and you guys play ONLY with each other. You have no idea how many winnable games you've turned into lost ones. Egoists shouldn't be unpunished in team based games.

Team based game yet the game doesn't do anything to enforce teamplay.

You can literally bring 4 selfish perks and a key into every trial and stealth the entire time and it's allowed within the rules.

You want people to play out every match based on some arbitrary honor code while people consistently do everything but gens while someone is being tunneled.

Unless side quests and solo perks are removed and BHVR starts punishing people who mess around then going next will continue to be fair game which is why they haven't removed it.

Killer feels a lot better to play because it's reliable, survivor is a frustrating mess because there's no consistency due to the devs refusing to let go of the asinine 'all playstyles are valid' mindset.

  • This is good news because finally we won't have 9000 threads filled with delusion about how she has no problems and it's just survivors being unsportsmanlike.

  • Have they even given updates on tunneling recently?

  • Killer is the power role and people still think both have equal influence and responsibility.

Also telling people to quit if they don't like something is really asinine and becomes amusingly hypocritical considering the same people whine when something they like gets nerfed.

OP hope the people in this thread don't discourage you from sharing your opinion. It's nice to see variety on this forum for once that isn't just killer hugboxing.

  • Knight has never required skillful gameplay.

  • Not ever going to happen sadly, as needed and insightful as it would be.

All it would take are a few freaks to shut the whole thing down, it also would be a terrible PR decision.

That being said it feels like there isn't really a point to giving feedback unless you're echoing a popular sentiment or are popular yourself and even that doesn't seem to be relevant.

The balancing in this game is far from community-driven.

Honestly I realized something about skull merchant recently. She was so hated that nobody takes he matches seriously or learns her new add ons and powers. She is a stealth killer now. The only real stealth killer as she has no growl or lullaby or any tells. She jump scares survivors incredibly. She isn't boring anymore everyone just hates her so much from before they never gave her a chance with the changes.

How is a stealth killer with no tells fun though?

The same reason they generally don't in other games.

    • DotA has a casual mode called "turbo" where the game is about half as long, the stakes are much lower, and the game is more chill. Yeah, competitive players sometimes play it, but usually to goof around with some crazy build or character.
    • CS2 has a casual mode where you get extra money and free armor and defuse kits and can leave and join as you please. Competitive players almost never play that mode, because this mode is inherently not competitive.
    • LoL has an unranked mode, and other casual modes like ARAM that give you random characters and throws everyone against each other in a single lane. Competitive players generally aren't playing this mode, and if they are its again, to goof around with stuff in a lower stakes game.
    • Overwatch has an unranked mode, where you can come and go, and the game is far more casual, competitive players generally aren't playing this mode and again, if they are its to goof around.

What makes DBD so special that would make it exempt from this? And don't say "because it is asymmetrical" without explaining WHY.

-Most Turbo games I've played are not really all that different from normal games. People still pick meta and goofing off is generally looked down on. But it's also a sped up version of the game with different modifiers, how would you create a modified dbd when the games are so short and the depth is not there?

    -Dont play cs2

-Normal Draft pick in League is actually way more sweaty than ranked up until a certain point once you get a high enough MMR. I don't think Aram should've been mentioned.

-Quick play in OW is still sweaty, people will goof off for the first minute or so then immediately swap to meta once they start losing.

Consensus: Ranked queues only work if the rewards and prestige for a high ranking are there. DBD has neither and I doubt they'd implement it.

A lot of players do not want challenging games, which is why lobby dodging is so prominent.

What they should do is stop being stubborn and offloading all the rewards of the match on the outcome and instead redistribute rewards based on hollistic individual performance.

Running the killer for 5 gens and dying or two hooking all survivors and getting a 0k should not feel as bad as they do currently.

And that's fair enough! But in my experience, the types of groups that all bring in flashlights are also built to grief even in the event that a Killer comes in with both Lightborn and Franklin's. Nah, I'll move on, there's more where they came from.

Should survivors have the ability to see the killers and dodge killers who have toxic playerbases?

  • Release Borgo was one of the best maps in the game.

  • Be grateful dcing doesn't remove the player anymore.

That was the real power move and it used to be so satisfying watching other dc to prevent 4k slugging and watch the last person get the hatch as a result.

  • @MrPenguin said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3725540#Comment_3725540

    Not exactly.

If you lobby dodge you do so knowing you're not really effecting anyone. It's pretty harmless.

If you give up you do so knowing you're going to cause the cascade of problems I listed before, and doing it anyways because you don't care if you screw over everyone else.

That's a pretty significant change in mindset imo.

So if I'm a killer with many thousand hours who always plays meta and to win (nothing wrong with this) and I intentionally dodge lobbies that have survivors with similar experience to me (which I can tell because I can view their steam profiles for some reason) in favor of getting survivors that are very new for an easy match is harmless?

I cannot cosign that I apologize.

Lobby dodging is a problem because there's no penalty for doing so and the killers have a ton of information before the game starts, these factors almost seem to encourage killers to lobby dodge because you will win more on average by doing so without wasting too much time.

A simple one minute penalty for leaving a lobby that goes up and caps at five minutes maximum and the removal of the ability to see names or open profiles until the end of the match would curb this issue almost fully without impeding on people who dodge for legitimate reasons.

Like I said though, if this happens then hooksuicides should go with it.

  • It would be fun to have a separate game mode that copy-pasted the gameplay from TCM tbh.

  • I also would add that League of Legends, another PVP game has implemented forced anon-mode in its competitive queues and has had lobby dodging penalties for awhile.

A vastly different game, but the problem of lobby shopping was the same there too, and the changes were successful in severely impeding the ability to lobby shop while not overcorrecting people who had legitimate reasons to leave a lobby.

There is no reason why DBD can't or shouldn't do the same.

  • @burt0r said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3725649#Comment_3725649

Aside from the difference that one happens in game and the other outside of the match:

The results being a killer dodging until they get a lobby where they will slaughter the survivors and a killer that gets slaughtered by survivors that were dodged a lot.

This is a not guaranteed possibility but could also lead to a semi even match depending on how much backfill craps the bed.

Survivor ditching at first hook on the other hand is a guaranteed certainty that the rest of the match will be miserable.

I've already conceded that lobby shopping is not as directly damaging as going next on the first page.

My point still remains that both of these activities stem from the same sense of entitlement to a favorable match, and to me, having a problem with one but not the other comes across as biased to me.

Personally I don't think either should be changed, but if they are both should be removed together because no one should be able to cherry pick which games they play whether it be in or before a game.

Lobby dodging would of course have a lesser penalty because it's not as far into the commitment but nothing good comes from killers being able to look at people's profiles and outfits and pick and choose accordingly. I've also noticed survivors will do the same too.

  • @IntoTheRain said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3724541#Comment_3724541

The mindset is not important. What matters are the results.

Firstly, I see plenty of survivors lobby dodge too.

Secondly, a few seconds waiting for another killer/survivor isn't comparable to the 10-30 minutes wasted by someone quitting early.

Thirdly, you keep shifting the goalposts.

The results being a killer dodging until they get a lobby where they will slaughter the survivors and a killer that gets slaughtered by survivors that were dodged a lot.

Survivors lobby dodging is moot because they cannot see the killer so dodging to cherry-pick teammates is way less efficient and thus most likely a lot less common then killers lobby dodging to get easier matches.

Shifting it from what exactly? My argument has remained consistent.

  • @MrPenguin said:

As someone who neither gives up nor lobby shops, I agree with others saying this is not the same thing.

Leaving before the match even started just adds a few seconds to the search and potentially messes with the MMR of the replacement. Although supposedly MMR doesn't work anyway so not sure how much that really matters.

A survivor self sacrificing mid match forces all 4 remaining players in the match to play out the rest of a predetermined outcome wasting a lot more time, everyone loses everything they brought into the match unless the killer lets them escape on purpose, everyone's potential BP gains just went down the drain, any archive players were trying is extremely likely incompletable for that match, it denies the remaining survivors at least a bot teammate, it waste all the work the survivor team already put in, killer gets an empty win, and a loss is thrust upon all the other survivors. To top it all off they avoid the DC penalty which was implemented to combat things like this in the first place.

That 1 survivor is making the decision that "Well I don't like what I see so I'm going to force everyone else on my team to lose and no one can play this match properly anymore, enjoy your massively reduced rewards, wasted items/add-ons, and empty win/loss everyone else."

If MMR is a concern we could also advocate to not have the criteria lessened just because someone left and to keep the search the same. Which again, as far as I've heard would basically still be a mismatched player.

Side note: MMR needs to be improved.

Do you agree that the mindsets between killers who lobby shop vs survivors who give up on hook are the same?

  • Elaborate. You stated 'I shop all I want.'

Suggesting it is reasonable to prioritize your enjoyment.

How is this different than someone going next if they get a killer they don't enjoy?

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

If I'm playing killer and I know that I'm going up against a 3/4-man SWF team, I'm absolutely going to dodge. Why would I want to knowingly go into a match where the other side has an unfair advantage if I don't have to?

Why would a survivor willingly want to play against a SM or Billy with a meta loadout over an inexperienced killer playing a low-tier?

  • @Blueberry said:

Not saying lobby shopping should be a thing, it shouldn't, but those are very different degrees of problematic. Lobby shopping is a little more queue time but realistically not that significant, I barely even notice it. Throwing in game is wasting everyone's time significantly and giving them a bad experience. Much worse and more problematic than lobby shopping.

But would you agree that the mindset is the same?

And with that, they are linked in that if you condemn one you must condemn the other and both have to be removed together or neither should.

This is effectively the crux of my argument.

  • @SpitefulHateful said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3724423#Comment_3724423

Gosh, of course, if I see a p100 Meg or Sable squad in flashy skins, equipped with 4 flashlights/toolboxes while wearing nicknames like PalletteHumper3000 or nicknames that suggest that the group plays together the first thing I'm going to assume is that they are super-friendly and they totally aren't looking to make the Killer's match living hell. And even if they do, I should totally abandon my self-respect and let them have fun at my expense. This is how game is meant to be played /s

This is how the consequences of toxic behavior work. People do get better at not getting involved with anyone displaying any red flags. There is no pleasure or fun in repeatedly shoving your hand into a methaphorical meatgrinder.

So then you have no issues of someone going next when they see several slowdowns in play because in their experience most of these players are toxic?

  • @BubMickey07 said:

If They did this I would NEVER play killer again

When I play killer and see a ttv I immediately leave that lobby cause ttv's are the MOST toxic survivors imaginable cause they want to show off to their "viewers"

This would be a HUGE downgrade imo

Are you okay with survivors going next against killers they don't like as well?

  • @Sava18 said:

I think a more mismatched game because of dodging isn't nearly as damaging as the game being auto over, don't think I need to explicate on that. That being said though I'd take this trade in .01 seconds, they are both bad for the game regardless of which ones worse.

Well there's a lot more people affected when it comes to lobby shopping, just not at the same degree. Especially if multiple killers lobby dodge.

I will concede that its not as directly damaging however I still feel like its subjective.

    @CountOfTheFog said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/414933/lobby-shopping-vs-going-next

You often don't get "the match you queued for" when you see 4 p100s with 4 flashlights already readied up. It's obvious you are the backfill that some other Killer didn't want. Screw bully squads, I shop all I want.

Are you also okay with survivors going next all they want as well?

    @Yharwick said:

You can't damage a game that hasn't happened yet it's not exactly the same thing.

I'm also quite confused about the fact that everyone talks about what a bad thing SBMM is for DBD but then constantly complains about it either not working or people doing things that they think effect it so it feels like people actually do want SBMM? I don't quite get it.

Its not exactly the same I agree, but at the same time there is still damage done, especially if you consider sometimes multiple killers will dodge in a row, leading to a killer that is not experienced going against a super strong SWF and having zero fun and on the flip-side four low tier survivors will be placed against a really strong killer.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 11
