Totally agree it's a total time-sink to cleanse all 5 ( which I often take it upon myself to do ), but wouldn't you rather have all 5 gone instead of having to search for the right one while your teammate is struggling on hook? I feel like the time invested could make last minute saves a lot easier.
In my experience the amount of time spent cleansing totems, just in the event of the killer having NOED, can be fatal for the whole team, especially if you are solo. Just the act of cleansing (5x14=70), so not counting travel time, is almost the equivalent of a whole gen.

See, I would've said NOED....if I didn't know how it worked before...but nooo, you gotta cleanse ALL 5 TOTEMS for it to not activate, I thought it just got assigned to one dull totem and if you break it, no NOED for end game
You don't need to cleanse all 5 totems (which is a huge time-sink), just the one in the end game.

Hard to feel that way when you just wanna get to the good part of playing the game by bypassing the insane levels of grind the devs put into the game.
I know but that's the thing, you know the grind is insane. You need to train yourself into thinking it's not worth it to stress out get to the end. Eventually you'll get there, but in the mean time you have to try to have fun with what you have.
That's just the advice of someone with almost 4k hours who has passed through this.
-
Literally no one is forcing you to play. It's not a job, you have no deadlines and you don't get anything from stressing you out about it. Just play when you feel like it.
-
NOED. It's easy to guess which killers are running it and most of the times it just gives them one easy down before being cleansed.
-
losin actually makes active mindgames impossible when it's active. Unless you're a very new player, it's just detrimental.
-
Killers spend a good amount of time before any trial to carefully build and position their totems and get sad when they find them destroyed by those pesky survivors.
-
That addon was useful when insta-flashlights were a thing. Now that they take a fixed time and are quite easy to dodge I don't see the need for it.
-
The DC epidemic is kinda embarassing. The lack of a DC penalty really showed why it is needed.
-
Yup, almost always killer challenges. I don't complain though because I prefer them.

Dont get triggered, if i show you a middle finger. It doesnt harm you at all and i definitely dont do it to be toxic and provoke you.
Ironically that's actually a good irl advice
-
Nemesis and Pyramid head. Their addons are very lackluster and most don't add anything to their power, which is already pretty good by default.

That's like saying you shouldn't get triggered because someone flipped you off or said "I ######### your mom last night." It's a deliberate provocation. Making people mad is the point. If it was not a taunt, people would not do these actions.
Anyway, I get clicking to divert, but I always make sure rampant clickers die in my matches, and macro users are destined for a special hell without internet access. Every damn time, I think my computer's having a seizure and about to crash before I identify the culprit.
No, it's more like don't get triggered by someone clicking a button somewhere in your continent. It's a game, chill out. Nobody insulted nobody's mother...
-
People should stop being triggered by harmless actions like tbagging and flashlight clicking.
-
I think the Nurse is in a good spot right now. In good hands she can still be extremely strong, but not like once when she could end a match in less than 30 seconds (I personally witnessed it).
-
My favourites are the Hillbilly, the Demogorgon, the Nurse, the Deathslinger and the Oni.
-
Come on guys, from OP's answers it is clear he's trolling you. Don't take the bait.
-
Maybe her abilities are not particularly strong by themselves, but sum them up and they make a good killer, kind of a jack-of-all-trades who's very adaptable to various situations.
-
Haddonfield. It's outdated af, both in aesthetic and gameplay.
-
That's because her head slot is actually her head ornament. The Hillbilly has the same "problem"
-
When I play Nemesis I quickly forget about M1. Going always for M2s makes you start slower, but towards the middle game you become nearly unstoppable in chases.
-
Or, here me out... how about 8? Or 10?
-
When playing as Wraith make sure they don't have LoS when you approach survivors. Even if you're cloaked they can still see you coming. It's also very useful to start uncloaking behind something, and only at half animation to show yourself to the survivors. This way you give them only about 1.5s to react.

This is equally as false as 90% of the things Sluzzy says.
Jeez, sorry if I voiced my opinion...
-
Tbh Claire in RE2 remake looks like a doll, the DbD version looks more like an actual person.
-
Yup. Not counting that the aura shown is not added to maps unlike with Detective's Hunch.

Nope because he’s missing the one part that,Ames fighting a ranged killer fun. Dodging a shot against huntress and slinger feels rewarding but against trickster it means nothing
This. Also as killer it doesn't feel much rewarding to land a knife.

Everyone saying the same thing lol. Play a weaker killer at rank 1 without it and see how you do (consistently) versus efficient survivors at rank. Your gonna lose a little more than you win and its not because your not that good or whatever, its because the gens will go too fast.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2319082#Comment_2319082
If the meta has shifted than why do so many people run Ruin in their games if it wasnt so bad? I play killer at rank 1 and at rank 1 i play multiple killers with non-ruin builds (except Clown) and i definetely notice the difference. At rank 2 i'll play my main(s) like Freddy and get back to rank 1. I played Freddy at rank 2 one time and i actually lost which is very rare. Those games i had no Ruin/Undying and had just other perks Sloppy Butcher etc. The moment i use Undying/Ruin theres an automatic difference. Survivors struggle all of a sudden and this is the case because Ruin (Undying) takes them out of they're comfort zone which is to sit on a gen until its done or at worst if the killer comes to that gen another survivor can just finish it although this is mostly the case for swf or aware survivors. I adjust very well but the problems still remain and imho you need to learn how to play 2 or 3 perks as the meta.
I play every killer at rank 1 without those perks (I generally don't like Ruin) and I do ok.
-
Maybe learn to not rely on those 2 perks? You know they have a high chance of being removed early on, if you insist on using them it's on you.
other perks [...] are virtually useless against strong survivors who just power through the gens anyway
Not to be that guy, but Ruin+Undying do nothing against those survivors.

It was a little bit different since I think it slowly spread throughout the outfit unlike how contamination just all appears at once but I totally agree.
That's even cooler. My comment was based on a comment from the devs that said they couldn't because of technical reasons (I don't remember when, but a lot of time ago).
-
I generally don't like much CI, unless on Trapper, so no thanks. I prefer a lot Whisper for early game pressure.

The worst one I've had so far was on lerys, which I wouldn't have thought would be one of the worse maps for it but it felt like it
Lery's is actually great because it's small and it's really easy to cut them off. The worst offender is Midwitch because its layout makes it really impossible to do. In that case I'm afraid there's not much to do besides holding W as well.
-
Considering Contamination does the same but blue I don't see a reason as to why it couldn't be implemented.
-
Then just do the same. Ignore pallets and take the most direct path, you're faster and you will catch up to them. Plus the maps are closed, they can't run always straight and sooner or later they will need to curve, and that's when you'll cut them off.
-
It's a very good way to make the meta even more meta, plus the community would be quick at finding very nasty perk combos. Awful idea.
-
Nothing against it. It's a good wait to waste the killer's time, which can be useful for other teammates. If it's just for points, I understand it.
-
If a survivor runs away from a loop while you're mind gaming, it means you got outplayed.
This. If you tried a mindgame is because the survivor mindgamed you into thinking he was gonna stay in that tile.
The counterplay is to not mindlessy mindgame (pun not intended) every structure that you see, but actually react to what your adversary does or has done.
-
Detective's Hunch is better. The only thing that stands out in Counterforce is the cleansing speed bonus, but honestly when does it happen that you have to break more than 1-2 totems in a match?
-
Survivors loop --> "looping is braindead and op!"
Survivors just run in a straight line --> "holding W is braindead and op!"
I guess to make some people happy survivors should just stand still and die.

Haddonfield. ######### HADDONFIELD
Can't agree more.
-
I agree that lately we're getting a lot of 1v1 killers, but people have been complaining about looping for ages. The general consensus has always been that survivors should be scared of the killers and not be able to loop them for ages. Saying "fix maps" is easy, but overall it makes more sense to make killers stronger in chases.
Also there were attempts at killers who were weak in weak in the 1v1 but strong in the 1v4: the original Freddy and Doctor, and they both had to be reworked because killers couldn't stand being weak in chases and survivors couldn't stand being pressured while outside of chases. (I'm over-simplifying of course)
In the end I can't say if the evolution of the game is good or bad, but I don't think it's out of the blue: it's happened/ing because that's what people want.
-
Imo it was never a good strategy in the first place. You completely give up stealth and it's the equivalent of being exposed all match. I mopped the floor with so many teams trying to do that...
So yeah, trash talking for cleansing is stupid.
-
You realize flashbangs don't come for free? Survivors have to repair gens to get them.
-
Neither. But if it's a "who's more annoying" contenst, hands down Freddy.
-
Iron Will. It complements well my playstyle and it's just too good. I'm honestly surprised it's not used more.
-
I'm personally happy if I manage to kill 2 survivors. But even if I don't, having a tense and interactive match is enough to satisfy me.
-
Considering her lobby music is among the best ones (imo) I second this.
-
I like the idea of gaining tokens with chases. I think though that, considering Distrortion has a pretty strong effect, the timer should increase from 30 to 60, and tokens should have a limit of 3.
-
Agree. With all traps in hand it would be very easy to set up an area and make it impossible for survivors. Imo just adjusting the spawning logic for beartraps to not make them spawn in the corners would already help a lot.
