I'm just gonna skip the first one because I don't play survivor. But if i had to guess, it's probably because of those situations you'll get into where his power is dreadfully annoying to face.
Now, why do I hate him? Well I don't hate him, I dislike him. But I don't hate him, that spot's reserved for skull merchant. First off, I don't like his design, I don't get on DBD to play as an edgy k-pop star that throws knives that look like they're made out of plastic. I don't like his lore much either, not my thing. But design and lore are subjective things, so everyone's gonna have a different opinion on them. Anyway I just hate his gameplay, playing as him feels tedious and clunky, in most situations his power is dreadfully weak. And in the situations where it's very strong, I don't have fun as it just feels unfair. Why would I ever want to play as trickster when I can play as huntress? Who's much stronger, has a more reliable power in all situations, is a lot more fun to play. And has a design and lore I actually like. To me, he's just walmart great value brand huntress and that's all he's ever gonna be.
Why is compared to huntress? They both throw weapons that hurts the survivor, they both move at 4.4 m/s, and they both have a lullaby. And huntress was the first ranged killer, most new ranged killers are gonna be compared to her.
Now how would I fix him? I don't know, I'm not a game dev. And honestly i don't have enough experience with him to be sure, now I've played my fair share of trickster, but I played just enough to know that I don't like him. Maybe they could make him 4.6 m/s or remove his lullaby, those are the only ideas I have.
All that being said, if you like him that's great. Everybody can like their own things, I'm not gonna tell people what character from a video game they can and can't like.
-
Why would you ever want to lift up a pallet so the other side can use it against you, when you can just break it with the same amount of time investment?
-
Honestly I just think we'd be better off if the perk was just deleted, it's bad game design and doesn't really belong in the game like dead by daylight.
-
-
Yeah, people find ways to complain about anything. The devs could make a change with no negatives whatsoever, and this community would still find a way to complain about it. As a friend of mine said "Bro it's the DBD community, they want everything removed from the game."
-
Jonah, I haven't once seen a Jonah in a public lobby as of yet. And from what I've seen nobody really likes him either, most likely because he's a war criminal. I've seen my fair share of haddies, Adam's, Yoichi, and other rarely played survivors. But I never see Jonah's.
Jonathan is probably more rare though, but I don't count him since you can't purchase him anymore and he's just a cosmetic.

Took this screenshot a long time ago. He kept trying to get my attention by hitting the wall up there and I didn't know where the sound was coming from for awhile until I randomly decided to look up and see hillbilly hanging out on top of the exit gate. I wonder if he can still do this. 😄

Good old space billy, one of the best bugs in the game.Sadly you can't do it anymore, behaviour removed it a while back like they did with sky billy.
-
See you next week
-
Tell me you haven't played billy, without telling me you haven't played billy.
-
Ngl, these look like straight Doo Doo. Even compared to other youtooz, at least they look more visually distinct than pops but honestly these look so much uglier. The only one with a passable design is wraith, and maybe huntress.
-
It's pretty decent, 25% regression is nothing to sneeze at that's pretty big. Still not gonna use it though, never used it before, not gonna start now.
-
I haven't had this happen, but maybe that's because I redeemed all of the codes yesterday. Most likely a bug I'm guessing.
-
I have no idea, but it's starting to get on my nerves more and more as time passes. The constant whining of the community is something a person can only deal with for so long.
-
I don't care either way

A lot of very good points have already been brought up in the replies here, but I think something that hasn't been addressed as much is that you're comparing a class of perks to one perk within a class.
Dead Hard and various Exposed perks do have a lot of things in common; except for killer powers like the chainsaw lads and Legion's fifth Feral Slash, and a few funky addons like the Iri Hatchet (which, side note, the Honing Stone doesn't count, that just takes you from injured to dying- the trap is the part that takes you from healthy to injured, so it is two separate sources of damage), they all work by inflicting the status effect "Exposed". This is similar to Dead Hard, which inflicts the status effect "Endurance".
The thing is, Endurance perks are a thing, and none of them are as complained about as Dead Hard. Survivors even have an Endurance addon, the Styptic Agent addon for the medkit. Futzing with health states is a very established mechanic on both sides with a dedicated status effect multiple things can apply, it's not just Dead Hard that gives the pseudo-health state of Endurance.
So, why is Dead Hard getting all the flak and not other Endurance, or even Exposed perks for that matter? Because they're all strictly limited either in number of uses (EG, Styptic Agent being single-use and consuming your medkit, or Off The Record only applying twice per game) or in applicability (EG, Endurance cancelling when you touch a generator). Dead Hard isn't necessarily different, it has its requirements and limitations, but there's no denying that it's far and away the most consistently useful and usable source of Endurance.
If an Exposed perk were as frequently activated and consistently useful as Dead Hard, I'd say that would be a problem. In fact, we basically saw that with Starstruck Nurse, and that was a big enough problem that Nurse had to be made incapable of using the Exposed effect at all. It's slightly different in that Exposed isn't equally useful across all killers - Nurse having access to it was nightmarishly OP, but something like infinite Tier 3 Myers is really only 'decent' all things considered - but the core of the idea is still the same. The status effect can be balanced, but not without serious restrictions.

Yeah it happens, best thing I can suggest is turning off chat and ignoring it. And just remind yourself that these losers are bragging about beating some random stranger at a video game, and that they brought 3 of their friends together to "bully" said stranger in the game. It's sad really.
Also judging from the screenshots you didn't actually get "bullied" maybe you shouldn't lie to start another us vs them argument that makes survivor players look like the devil.
-
Yeah this was happening to me earlier, I was trying to practice some with blight so I was playing custom games with bots. And that happend, I opened the game a little bit ago and it worked fine so I think it's fixed for custom games at least.
-
Yeah I don't think "that age of wraith" is ever gonna be a thing, but hey at least he's stronger now.
-
I have a fair amount.
Trapper: Fastening tools
Wraith: The shadow dance and windstorm addon's
Clown: Sticky Soda bottle
Pig: Bag of gears
Nemesis: Marvin's blood
Wesker: Unicorn medallion
Bubba: either one of the chili addons
Ghostface: Philly
Pyramid head: Range add-ons
Legion: Mischief list and Julie's mixtape
I know it's bad to rely on add-ons but I literally do not care, these killers feel way worse to play without them.
-
Yeah sure, I'd love gacha mechanics in a game I payed money for! For real though DBD mobile kinda sucks and I'm sick of people gassing it up, I've never played a clunkier game. It has some cool features I agree with that, but nothing can fix bad gameplay.
-
Lol, lmao even.
-
I finally got nemesis, I was gonna get him soon anyway so now I have an extra 150 cells.
-
I don't even play survivor yet I'm gonna get this, the drip is truly immaculate.
-
They don't have the rights to demo anymore, they aren't gonna give him anymore skins. And also, they aren't gonna slap a licenced skin on a licenced character.

Glad dh and coh got nerfed into the ground. Pain-res getting gutted was a bit overkill but I don't use the perk anyways so I could care less. Overcharge and Call of brine were nerfed too hard but they kind of needed to be nerfed for the gen kick meta to disappear. The gearhead buff is cool, should've been buffed more but it's a fair bit better now. That one survivor perk got buffed, don't remember the name of it but the buff was good. Glad lightburn was removed, outdated mechanic that didn't need to exist in the game anymore. Couple of random killer changes too like the buffing of some addon's, they don't matter much. Now you can remove hag's traps without a flashlight, idk how to feel about it, I don't play hag at all so I don't have the experience necessary to comment on whether the change is a good one or not.
I don't care to comment on the healing changes, I'll wait for the ptb for that. Billy getting nerfed again is ridiculous and doesn't need to happen, they give him a slight basekit buff but a huge nerf to his 2 only good add-ons. I've ranted and raved about the nerf over, and over again, so I'll spare you the complaining and shorten it down. Stupid change, hope they go back on it. I don't understand why the devs hate billy so much.
-
Shame they're so rare for me, or I'd use them all the time.
-
Sounds bland and uninteresting.
-
Not gonna read this post because I can already tell it's nonsense, and judging by the comments I'm right. Dude, even the title is wrong, people abuse mechanics in LOTS of video games (especially competitive ones) and call it a playstyle.

Yeah except the problem is that after the last overheat changes they did it become irrelevant. Rarely would it ever affect most Hillbilly players and whenever it did the overheat meter would go down fairly quickly. So the changes that they made here aren't even going to do anything besides making it more annoying to get around the map, and that's not even talking about the changes that will kill Hillbilly, the engraving addons.
No offense, but from your comments I can tell you either don't play Hillbilly or don't play him much, because if you're defending the nerf to his most important add-ons, then you don't understand the issue. You need to understand that the engraving addons are borderline necessary for good Hillbilly players because the speed difference will always mean the difference between being able to just barely pull off a curve on a loop and scoring a hit or missing the survivor. And for a Killer who gets gimped hard on most loops nowadays, every curve can mean the difference between winning a game and losing. So now that he's had his most crucial add-ons nerfed, what's left for him? Genuine question. Excluding the gravings all of his brown add-ons suck, the only good yellow he has is Dad's boots, all of his green add-ons are extremely gimmicky and rely on bringing perks for them (like how mothers helpers needs enduring to work effectively), his purple add-ons suck ass except for lopro which isn't even that strong and spiked boots which are a huge risk, and then his iridescent suck ass and even when combined are still really gimmicky.
So after all that he only has....3 add-ons which aren't even amazing, just decent. So what was the point of these changes? They just drove off any remaining Hillbilly mains whilst also attempting to bring in new players by making the overheat less punishing ignoring the fact that he is the most punishing Killer to learn, meaning that even after these changes no new player will pick him up, and even if they do once they get better with him and start facing stronger survivors they'll realize that he doesn't have the tools to deal with them effectively. Seriously answer me this, why would anyone want to play Hillbilly after these changes and not play Leatherface or Blight who are by far much better Killers than him? Who will want to play a Killer who is both extremely punishing to learn and won't have the tools to deal with good survivors?
Literally, 99% of the community from what I've seen agrees with me on this issue, you are the one outlier on this issue. In feedback and suggestions, there is a 4500-hour Hillbilly main talking about how bad these changes are, and many, many more doing the same. How are you going to tell me these changes are good for him despite people who are dedicated to this Killer saying otherwise? When huge content creators with thousands of hours in DBD are also saying the same thing?

Since the midchapter update announcement this forum has really gone to the dogs.
Yeah I noticed that the other day, this midchapter has made everyone go crazy it seems.

At this point the community wants everything removed from the game

I never said the devs favored one side. Thanks
What's this then?
-
Because this community will whine and complain about almost everything. There's even people complaining about the visual terror radius.
-
I would rather do literally anything else.

No, not anytime soon.

Love the leaps of logic people come here to validate.
I did something good, then someone else did something bad. Now I'll stop doing good things and be mean instead.
And of course you expect people to tell you it's ok .

Anyways, y'all want to talk about favorite builds?
I run this dumb pseudo hex build on Freddy, it's a really weird build and it's kinda bad but I use it anyways because I get way more value out of it then you'd think. I use hex thrill of the hunt, hex face the darkness, pop goes the weasel, and jolt.
I run Nancy's masterpiece and z block as the addon's, honestly this build works surprisingly well for how dumb it is.
-
"We've heard complaints of certain killers over preforming due to unfair addon's, so we've decided to nerf the hillbilly."
Maybe behaviour got tired of nerfing pig and decided to nerf hillbilly. Seriously though this is ridiculous.

@VoidOfMe said:
You know what I don't get? No one plays Billy and people are shocked and baffled about these addon's nerfs.
Why?
Do YOU play Billy? Or do you know someone who does and the person got mad and you're complaining on their behalf?
I really don't get the commotion. We'll still be facing the same killers, the 4 billy mains are still gonna play him and it's not like Billy is the most fun killer to face, right?
BTW: About the nerf healing thing, we'll have to wait and see how it works on gameplay, I'm sure if it doesn't work they'll revert it back, so I'm not stressed about it.
Because the engravings are 2 of billy's best add-ons, and one of the few viable ones. For a lot of people, engravings make the killer fun, including me. Billy's add-ons are bad enough as is we don't need 2 more of them to be nerfed, nobody complained about these addon's.
It's a slap in the face for the people who have taken thousands of hours to learn billy, they give him a small buff and then a huge nerf to 2 of his only good add-ons to an already underperforming killer. These changes are horrible, plain and simple, if you don't understand why people are upset I don't know what else to tell you. It's pretty obvious.

You going to retract your statement with the new developer update? Or are you too simple minded to not realize that WITH TWO ######### stupid zoning killers and a ######### mid chapter update, the game won't die?
No? I made the statement long after I saw the new update and it's changes. Sure they aren't the best, but the game isn't gonna die. People are so quick to say this when the ptb hasn't even come out yet. Also chill, you're overreacting. No need to insult people over a differing opinion over a game.
-
Cool more us vs them, always love it when people blame one side entirely instead of recognizing everyone is to blame.
-
I'm prepared for the sprint burst apocalypse, honestly I'm excited I love playing against sprint burst. Sprint burst and lithe are my favorite exhaustion perks to play against, so I'm happy that I'll see them more.

@Xane said:
This game gonna die now LMAO
This has been said so many times this statement has lost almost all of it's not gonna die, it'll be fine.
-
K, see you next week.
-
I'm cool with everything besides the hillbilly changes. Why nerf an underperforming killers only good add-ons? I don't get it, it seems like they just want to kill hillbilly. I've said this a lot before but I'll say it again, if overheating is such a "non-factor" then why not remove it? If it doesn't change anything then why is it there?
I can live with the pain res nerfs, it sucks that they over nerfed it but I don't use the perk anyway so I could care less.
-
Or better yet, don't nerf these addon's at all.
-
I've never seen something I've agreed with more, couldn't have said it better myself.
-
Sorry pulsar I failed math
