I agree that killers complain as much as survivors do, but there is one difference between them. Killers, more frequently than survivors, have a better argument for their complaints. They don’t just come here like a lot of survivor mains do and say survivor op, nerf them. Many explain the issue and why it’s a problem, whereas lots of survivors just attack the killer players and call them bad without having a reasonable argument.
I’d love to hear some evidence for this completely ridiculous take
-
@Crowman said:
Because survivors only complain about whatever the strongest thing that is currently being played. It's all about wanting easy wins.
What a horrible take lol

I wouldn't say another entrance would be fair. A hole that drops the survivor into the basement now I think would be quite interesting.
That’s fine too

I’m insulted that you used my favourite show to insult me

@Orion said:
That's not more interesting nor dynamic, it's just safer for survivors.
The basement is supposed to be dangerous. Stay away from it if the killer is nearby.
I disagree. A basement rescue, sneaking in under the killer’s nose, worrying that they could come down any second sounds a lot more fun than constant trading in the basement with killers like huntress and trickster.
-
@Tekno_Badger said:
It's the basement for a reason, if you don't want to be hooked there then don't go down near it
On many maps using iron grasp/agitation you can go from very far away to the basement, it’s not as simple as avoiding it.

What's the difference between video games and physical games in that regard?
People who play video games are more sensitive

As long as no rules are being broken, the goal in a PvP game is to win. How much of a priority that is will vary from person to person.
If all people care about in games is winning, then I’d much rather they played sports instead

Probably because most meta survivor perks reward failure and it rarely feels like you got outplayed. Oh, I’m playing like crap and keep going down in 10 seconds? It’s fine I have perks for that.
At least Killer meta perks require some input from the killer for the most part. Ruin / Undying / Pop / etc do nothing if the killer isn’t getting fast downs.
The game will always remain a joke at “high level” play when 3 gens can get done in 2 minutes and survivors have such a massive pile of get out of jail free cards to crutch on.
There’s nothing stopping the gen rush + god pallets really. But you want to kill rush? No you can’t do that without eating like 4 extra lives in the form of perks first
No, the meta survivor perks punish bad behaviour by killers which prevents every game from being camp tunnel camp

Nope

Because it's a video game and he should be allowed to have fun when playing a video game.
Why does anyone play any video game?
So, one person’s fun is fine to overrule everyone else’s? If you want to stand still, you can do that outside, you don’t need to play DBD and make a boring match for all. We all know damn well the most fun matches are the ones with a back and forth between the survivors, those should be encouraged.
-
Why bother playing then? I really don’t get it

Just run urban evasion for the 0.1% of games you’ll get against her

Almost fully agree but i'd put Pyramid Head at garbage tier, out of all the killers that can create a "doomed if you do, doomed if you don't" scenario he's the worst to face for me and extremely unfun. Most of the time you could just hold M2 then cancel and get a hit anyway. Not to mention his ability to easily tunnel you out of the game without even having to worry about DS and BT. The "nerf" to his cages didn't do much, it's not hard to tell at all where the cage will spawn.
And i find Pig very fun to face actually, as long as it's not one of those Pig players who constantly go after the trapped guy.
Fair enough, I get why people dislike PH, I’m not sure why I find him ok. My problem with Pig is that most of them are like that lol.

That's hypothetical to the conditions needed to clear NOED and antithetical to the solution, which is to do bones. It is 100% possible to do all that you described. Not being very good at it might give someone like yourself the impression it's not possible, but it's is certainly possible with effort. You have to pay attention to find them.
The hardest map regarding this is the swamp maps, where the bones can spawn anywhere on the perimeter. Only in this case would doing bones be very difficult to achieve during EGC; in that case, it means survivors weren't doing bones during the majority of the trial and brought the conditions upon themselves and created a risky EGC. Most survivors will open the gate and leave, but it's not impossible to find the bones if EGC hasn't been activated.
Challenging, yes, but 100% possible and 100% the survivors fault if they aren't doing bones.
Do bones or risk NOED, the choice is yours.
It really isn't a choice. It's either have no gen pressure, or face NOED. There needs to be a better way for solos to communicate where bones are, and how many have been cleansed, as I can cleanse 4 dull totems, but then the last one that was cleansed by my team can have me on a wild goose chase for 10 minutes. Solo queue needs buffs, or NOED needs changed, that's my stance on this.

I will agree with this because once every 10 games I feel like I'll get super good totem spawns. However most games all the totems that are lit up are in plain view.
But again, this is a massive disparity between solo survivors and SWF. In SWF, when running past bones in chase for example, this can easily be called out to their team. Yet another reason we need some kind of pinging system, as you already have so much to worry about as a solo player, without having such a big disadvantage when it comes to totems.

That's like saying doing generators doesn't activate the gate. Or putting survivors on books doesn't sacrifice them. Unless you are a survivor who is tunneling the generators, you should be looking around the map as time passes.
Be familiar enough with maps that you can look for bones. They aren't that hard to find, especially when survivors are actively looking for them.
All it takes is 1 well hidden totem on the swamp, any other big maps, etc to make it a complete waste of time and cost your team the game. It’s simply not possible in solo queue to check every nook and cranny and still win.

Realistically how many games do have you had to "throw" to cleanse though. On the same note how many of those games did anyone actually run a perk to counter it.
The only perk that counters NOED is detective’s + a map. The others are not worth using in solo.
-
@Iliketoplaykiller said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2453413#Comment_2453413
I think what you also don't understand is it requires nothing from the survivor to simply cleanse totems as they go, or do what I do and run small game when I solo q. It really isnt that hard, I have stopped noed many times, sure a teammate or 2 have died because we didn't gen rush but overall we as survivors won those games.
It requires throwing the games sometimes to cleanse the bones.

It's not a hunt if
- You use Detective's hunch and a map.
- Remember where they spawn at. It's just that Simple.
It's not hard I play solo I can't get the totems while gens get done.
You just don't want to.
You must enjoy losing every match you play solo if you run around the map looking for every bone lol. If cleansing NOED was viable for solos, people would do it, but it never happens for a reason. It’s not reasonable for solos to have the coordination to do it, other than small game, there is zero way to know how many dull totems there are.
NOED is extremely problematic against solos, not against SWF.
-
@I_am_Negan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2453346#Comment_2453346
Then remember where they spawn at.
You run by them all the time.
Most of them are sitting right next to a gen you're tell me you can't take a couple of seconds to break it?
Waste of time, since you need all 5 for NOED which is part of the problem. If killers needed 2 dull totems to spawn, then it would be a different story and fairer. But it’s completely impractical to run around the map on a hunt, as that is basically a guaranteed loss in a solo game. Counterforce and small game are garbage for destroying all totems, they will destroy any chances a team has to win.

Detective's hunch and a map there you go no more NoEd.
Yes, we should just bring a map and the same perk for every game, great.
-
@PalletsAndHooks said:
NOED is fine. Do bones or risk a challenging EGC. It takes up a whole perk slot that is situationally dependent. It's hardly earned, but it's been paid for. Survivors shouldn't be moping around during EGC.
Doing bones is not a counter at all to NOED. Unless you’re using a rainbow map, or a map with detective’s the other anti-perks are not at all good for cleansing totems. A solo survivor going after totems with counterforce or small game is a guaranteed win for the killer.

But why should that want to play DBD scummy override the fact that there are 4 survivors who want to play a decent game?

Deception

I just hate that you get it regardless of what happens, which is the opposite of adrenaline that has a requirement. It should be activated after hooking 3 different survivors, to make it less of a crutch for newer killers.

And people are also entitled to be upset about it, you can’t police emotions. Some of us work full time and only have x amount of time to play, and it’s frustrating to use your time on a killer who doesn’t even want to play the game.

I’ll never get why people complain about it. It takes 1 perk out of 16 survivor perks to get rid of the combo within like 90~ seconds usually. That’s supposed to be the equivalent of 8 perks for the killer.
That’s really not true, the perks are actually all flawed at destroying totems, the rainbow map is the only reliable totem cleanser. Small game can be misleading with the range, and you have no idea specifically for where to go. Counterforce is extremely time consuming, due to showing the farthest totem, as well as offering no help for finding the first totem. Detective’s hunch is good, because it requires completing a gen, which varies in how long it takes, and is only really good with a map. In fact, Otz even proved having counterforce is often the same as running nothing.
The map totally overrules the perks, which are really not very good. This video shows how ineffective the perks are for otz, who knows the spawns much better than most of us. https://youtu.be/MXWwG4c20-A
