You bet your ass I do

Every time I see a bully squad, I just lose my will power to play fairly more and more. I'm at a point I don't even want to win. I 4ked like, twenty or so (give or take) bully squads straight recently. I'm stuck in super sweaty high mmr now and whether I win or lose it doesn't matter because the games aren't fun, and this nonsense of intentionally screwing with the killer is why.
One of my last 4k before I decided I'm taking a break for a week or so went as follows
Two neas in the same skin begin teabagging and emoting. I chase them. They aren't very good in chase at all. BUT they DO make sure to ALWAYS go down in front of a locker. Queue the headon/flashbang nonsense. They do eventually missplay and get themselves killed....after stopping me from hooking maybe 6-7 times. Instead of doing gens or playing seriously they brought a build just to do this. Intentionally abusing the game mechanics to just remove my objective from the game while ignoring theres.
The game ended with a 3k and I let the poor Michaela go who stayed on gens all game, I think she did three?
So I just gave up after that. I've beaten so many sweat squads, proved to myself I can outplay and loop up until the highest mmr and I don't care to practice enough to compete there because it's not even fun.
Every game from now on-basically because of threads with the OPs mindset and players like those two neas- I am just goign to tunnel out the first survivor I find. Either it snowballs into a win or I can punish the toxic survivors. I'm really at a point I'm just assuming AT-LEAST 80%-90% of the survivor player base don't even care about winning they just want to bully the killer and dc when they lose, or tea bag at the exit gate when their bullying tilts the killer into making mistakes.
I've really wanted to be a better more mature member of the community but with how this games player base behaves there isn't any point. Tunnel away killer mains. Turn off your inbox so you can't get the salt, thats all they want. They want to tilt you, and bully you, and if you play the same way insult you for matching their energy. More than anything- more so than escaping- they just want you to engage them in their salt and tilt.
I did six games straight yesterday where I immediately got high skill survivors teabagging and clicking. I knew I could easily get 2-3 kills if not 4. But I'm at a point if they just want to be toxic and bully the killer I said ok. Thats fine. I went and stood in a corner facing it so they couldn't get flashlight points and just went to my laptop and played vhs. They were so angry afterwards complaining how they wanted to play their match and how they had challenges. Thats nice. I wanted a nice fun game without rude players so no one got what they wanted. Thats my new phrase.
My response to survivors intentionally posting they want to be toxic and bullies? Here is the BEST way a killer can give that same energy back.
Put on lightborn/insidious/deadlock/merciless storm and a purple coin. No blind points, no boldness points, no chase points, no altruism, no anything at all. Two less chests just in case they has a chest challenge. And gloriously the game takes longer because of deadlock and merciless storm. just throwing the mmr down to get away from these toxic players and making sure they depip every time.

It’s def playable at high mmr and I’m seeing finally why the devs said kill rates were low
won idk between 150-200 games in a row, but most of those were survivors dcing or dying in hook intentionally
boosted me to a mmr I do NOT belong in
biw I can’t get single ######### hook
ao frankly it’s a skill issue because I’m seeing how these good survivors play and am quitting to let my mmr decay for a while
starting o understand this killer sided patch was only needed for high mmr. I was winning probably 75-85 percent of my games before. I’d rather go back to that win rate than have this stupid area where I’m stuck between every game is a 4k or 4escape and no invetween
everynat h now for a few days is either seal team six or potatoes. Either boring from curb stomping survivors or so impossible I just stand in a corner and wait for them to leave and go do other stuff
-
Agreed. And to the survivors saying they just adapted that’s fair. Now the literally only way for killers to win at higher or even mid upper mmr is to tunnel someone out. Zero options now but to force people off gen with the altruism.
in taking a break. My 90% win streak is turning jnti zero now. Like op said even if I spawn beside a survivor it doesn’t matter run and throw pallets and gens pop period, had one pop at 37 seconds yesterday.
game is absolutely now fun in either side right now
i I tried really hard to defend this update because 1) I wanted a new meta and 2) dredge is my favorite video character in like a decade
but both sides suck I play now that the dust has settled
killers cannot afford a SINGLE second wasted or they lose so tunnel time
survivors cannot afford a SINGLE second off gens, so gen rush build time
I wish we could reverse this patch and the mmr changes from kk this agi
what blows my mind is the player base is dwindling. You can see it on the steam charts. No discussion about it though, just a than erasure entirely and a MoM nerf no one not even killers asked for

I mean, you were going on about how ######### they are. Anyways, both keys and moris were said to be becoming part of the base game.
Correct. My reaction to the discussion concerning them needing a rework was to agree because they are horrible now. That is such a small leap of logic doesn't quite need a parachute.

We're talking about old mechanics, not current ones. Hatch used to spawn when the number of gens remaining was less than the number of survivors. So for example, if you killed one person, hatch would spawn at two gens left and the remaining survivors would get an easy escape without any real counterplay.
Moris used to work as soon as you downed someone, but the iteration I'm talking about is the one most people think of when they think of moris. Moris used to be able to kill a survivor after they had been hooked once.
Both were incredibly overpowered and unhealthy, and they countered each other, so one couldn't exist without the other being a massive problem.
yes im aware. I'm agreeing with OP that they need a rework because they suck now. I wouldn't be saying how bad they are now if I didn't agree they need a rework. Infer from context next time.
Yes. I'm aware of how they used to work. I described in detail how my squad used to abuse keys. Did you just not read the entire post or not understand it? How do you think my swf was getting out without doing gens? By baking a pie over the campfire or something? By using the old key mechanics, sir, not magically.

Lately I've felt my kill rates have been very high, so I sought to find out why. I tracked 4 different sessions on the last patch (6.1.1), each spanning 5 games. I played Blight every game, no add-ons or offerings. My build was Shadowborn/Agitation/Pain Res/Tinkerer, and I did not camp or tunnel.
Combined results below:
-Average 8.9 downs per game
-Average of 4.1 times per game that a pre-patch Dead Hard would have gotten someone to an additional pallet or window
-Average 3.1 gens completed before first kill
-Average 3.1 kills per game (77.5%)
-Average of 1 forfeit (DC or suicide) every 3 games
-Average match length of 11 minutes (all values rounded to nearest minute)
These kill rates seem pretty high, but when put into context they're not as bad. I'll go into that more below:
-In the majority of my 4ks I noted exceptionally poor teamwork at points, like leaving someone to stage 2 or death, or not working on gens for extended periods.
-Dead Hard's nerf is likely a small factor in increased kill rates. I noted many instances in which I got downs off of mindgames that possibly could have been negated by DH pre-patch.
-The biggest factor in kill rate was match forfeits. When discounting all games in which someone forfeited, my kill rate was 61.7% across 15 games.
-When survivors work as a team and play efficiently, my games are still very competitive. I had a lot of really good players giving me a hard time, often with some really surprising builds.
61.7% isn't the huge jump everyone was expecting. In fact, it's fairly on-par with what you could expect from a Blight pre-patch. To be fair, I used no add-ons. That said, 61.7% isn't a big difference from what I at least felt like I was getting before, and I rarely ever used add-ons on Blight even before 6.1.0.
All-in-all, I believe the main factor in why survivors are doing so poorly right now are forfeits. When you have a nearly 16% difference in kill rate between when a survivor isn't throwing the match and when one is, that's probably the issue. If you have forfeits an average of every third game, of course kill rates are skyrocketing. So to the ragequitters out there, if you think a match is hopeless, it probably isn't. Don't DC every time you're losing, because if you do then you're the reason every match is hopeless.
I thought I was really getting good at killer because I have had such insane win rates lately its unbelievable
then i realized people were just quitting every match/dying on hook/ dcing/ bad teams letting people go tier two or die on hook
Now my mmr is so boosted I can't do #########. I went from winning every single match to losing every single match. It was getting boring now it's just so frustrating I turned my game off and started playing cuphead. Gonna do vhs later. Get the grind in now while the game is still newish before the hard core players take hold I guess.

They are. They both do the EXACT same thing. They allow you to circumvent your objective and still win. Moris can be stronger, but they also are the equivalent to keys because of the fact that they're fundamentally the same thing.
And all survivors have the possibility of keeping the killer at bay for an extended period of time. All they have to do is loop well.
Moris and keys are both garbage now. A mori only works on death hook. At BEST it may stop a sabo/blind but franky if you're at the point youve double hooked people you are probably doing well enough thats not an issue. Very rarely does that work on good killers anyway. At WORST I've stopped doing moris because it wastes so much time for the animation that there are better things I could be doing. SOMETIMES the mori can help stop a save at best. I am no longer spending my BP on moris. Total waste of bp
Keys are trash period. point blank. if killer finds hatch the odds of you getting to it before he kills you AND holding the action button is so much lower than you just opening the door its laughable. Only time ive run keys is for the aura reading and thats trash too. I'd take a purple or green toolbox/medkit over a red key EVERY time. I've also stopped spending BP on keys. Because once again, total waste of bp.
Put it this way: I wouldn't spend my hard earned BP on keys OR moris even if their price was lowered down to green instead of red. Trash items. I don't even understand what skill level players have to be at to care about these things anymore.

Especially since most Killers are already having an easy time getting more Kills? I don’t get why it was removed, since you had to do the objective (repairing gens) before it spawned. And the Franklin’s change (depleting your item while it’s on the ground) should also be reverted to old Franklin’s, since it was only changed so that people with keys had no charges left to open the Hatch.
What are your thoughts about it? Revert it or not?
Because you are actually wrong. You did NOT have to do the objectives. My swf and I use to routinely use key hatch combo to get people out without doing all the gens. one person brings key and an outdoor map, one person brings hatch at killer shack. we'd go in, drop the key where hatch spawns, do the minimum gens (even less if one of us three or the random died) and bounce without the killer having a clue what happened
It was a ridiculous and toxic set up. I DO agree keys are ######### useless now. I used to sweat if I saw them in lobby as killer. Now I prefer the survivors bring a key. I'd rather that useless trash come into my game than a medkit or toolbox that can actually impact things.

yeah, you won't understand tru3's position or killer's problems until you are among top killers in the game. there is reason why tru3 has the positions he has in regards to the game. Once your MMR gets high enough, a lot of killer lack skill expression to beat truly outstanding survivor players. otz's 30 second afk challenge +no perks/add-on with 4k on killer is not gameplay reality for killers.
there's no real secret that can help you. you have to learn to play nurse/blight/bubba and pyramid head to have an impact on the outcome on the match at higher levels of play. you need to be very efficient at either tunneling survivors out or be very effective at combining slugging & hook camping to beat better players. Most games for killer are around 5 minute long in term of generators so eliminating early survivors out of the game is completely required. A lot of the pallet loops do not have very much mindgames if the survivor is good and makes no errors. for low-tier and medium tier killers, the game is largely a pallet break simulator on like 90% of the maps. clown happens to be part of that pallet break simulator so tough luck for your clown games.
Yep. Pretty much every game today. I stopped playing survivor cuz my swf quit. Tried solo q and thats just a ######### hatch simulator. I didn't care too much because I have other games to play with my friends. Since I'm a killer main I said no sweat. I don't care if I die as survivor anyway.
But now either all the survivors my level have quit (looking at the steam charts this could be it) or I won enough games that I'm at a point I literally cannot do anything. I just went afk a bunch of matches in a row. Every single game the first gen popped in under 50 seconds. I don't know how thats even possible. A survivor making it to a single ######### pallet means two gens lost.
I understand trues' position way better now. The devs boosted killer rates for the lower level killers and made the majority of survivors get angry and throw/quit but it's done literally nothing for any higher level ones. Pretty pissed right now. Literally feels like mmr is telling me "Yeah you practiced and played a lot, dealt with many toxic surivors bming you, got to where you can win and earn your iri 1. So lets just put you back to square one. what? you thought youd get fair even games that are 2 escape 2 dead? haha ######### you go back to getting stomped on again"

Yeaaaaaa. MAYBE a random one here or there....But i think if you polled the REAL popular streamers who have been playing for years and years now, and have 5k(being generous) hours...Most can't even stomach DBD off stream to go through that much hastle to derank off stream.
yeah im sure some may throw but not all. Tofu loses occasionally on his, and otz atleast I know is cracked, and deadplays.

At high killer mmr you need to be good at chase, like all the things you listed that you started working on (moonwalking, situational awareness, how to run each of the map tiles based off your killer etc) but you should take a break for a day or two if you've been playing nonstop killer.
I found that (pre 6.1.0 patch) I would get mentally exhausted from looping mindgames as killer after playing it too much and so my winrate would go down because I'd know what I needed to do to win a chase but mentally I was too burned out to focus that hard.
You should also know when to change up your build. Any time I went into a match without a clear strategy for my killer power and build and addons Id do poorly. The same build will start to get old and eventually you start getting survivors who have caught on to whatever build you've been using. It's like the entity knows you've been using the same build or strategy for a while and sends you survivors who know how to counter it well lol Try different fun perk synergies out every once in a while. I used to main lots of different killers and I had different builds for each I'd swap out every once and a while.
I'm high mmr but low sweat, if that makes sense. It's not very rewarding to me personally to sweat it out for a 4k. I'm usually fine with a 2-3k because honestly 4ks arent super rewarding mmr-wise either. Like, why sweat your *** off so the mmr will give you an even sweatier match next time? I spent almost a year in that 4k mindset until I got burned out. But that's just my take. People will play how they want. Whatever.
I agree i may just need a break. I've been home with covid for about a week and couldn't move so I've done nothing but play dbd. And exactly like you said I'm sitting here calling every move the survivors are making in advanced and still falling for it. Going nuts.

So I doubt I'm "top MMR" like at all but I consider myself decent and know what direction people are going with playstyle . Theres a lot more gen rushing with toolboxes (and usually Prove Thyself), and 1-2 people constantly setting boons up. Now as far as the looping , that is tough because even I have been having countless matches lately with tiles with like 6 windows and 2 pallets. Truth is I just quit the chase if I can tell they are a master looper , and find the weak link . They re did some of the tiles in some maps and are switching up little things like that . I have personally had many back to back games recently where it was only Macmillan, Cold wind farm , and Haddonfield. As a hag I cringe when I get these maps but I just try my hardest to get someone to basement quick as possible .
I'm livid at the boons. I've spent the last few months laughing at boons, just saying "haha i heard a boon that means no one is on a gen" then putting it out once a chase took me near it.
Now today all of a sudden the hardest to find totems are getting double and triple stacked with boons and EVERY move I make is getting undone. I guess the boons do work at high mmr just not where I was before.
-
Idk if the bad survivors have officially quit, or like you said realized it isn't that big of a deal. But my recent win streak was making me feel good at the game and clearly it was just all the survivors throwing. I've gone in two days from a win streak that was probably 99% wins for a few weeks to now I can't get a single goddamn kill. I KNEW the moment they all started playing for real again everything would go back to normal and it has, idc if it was a killer sided patch it's still a survivor sided game. Not making the leap yet but I'm close to quitting, all my IRL friends quit in the past several months and I'm the only one left and I'm hanging on by a thread.
-
As a note, everyone thinks I'm talking about blight. I'm not sure where the miscommunication is: I'm losing on EVERY killer today, when i haven't lost in months, he was just one example. I do not main blight, and I'm losing on my mains, I was just trying him a game or two.
I'm literally just going afk now to lower my mmr
I don't know ######### is going on I legitimately feel like behavior is punishing me or something
I have lost more today as killer than I have in the past six months added together. I'm legitimately wanting to throw my ######### playstation through a goddamn window
I am seriously ######### pissed. I'm coming off of a win streak so ######### high I lost count and cannot get a SINGLE ######### KILL TODAY ######### IS GOING ON.
I just loaded in a match with a streamer who has 5.2 THOUSAND ######### HOURS. WHY AM I PLAYING SOMEONE WITH THAT MANY HOURS I DON'T EVEN HAVE I THINK A THOUSAND A KILLER AND SURVIVOR COMBINED
edit* streamer was very nice and calmed me down a little. I guess I'm just close to quitting like my swf group did. This is absolutley ridiculous I cannot possibly be playing in the same league as these ######### sweaty swfs and streamers I'm getting today. I know way too much about this ######### game to think there is even a remote chance this is even CLOSE to even match making.
######### did I even get good enough for iri 1 for. Literally just being punished for having improved when I could have just kept playing camping bubba but NOOOOO I had to learn to play the stupid game.
I'm ranting like an immature kid. I'll stop now. Not much left to say in terms of this thread or advice. I thought it was just some slightly better players but knowing now I'm facing literal 5k hour survivors idgaf. I;m considering juts Turning the game off for a couple weeks and seeing if my mmr degrades naturally and Going to play vhs with the swf crew that quit. This is not fun. It is not fun putting so much effort in to improve just to get slammed with a four stack of Michael Jordan players when I just barely made it to the minor leagues.
-
All I know is I am dcing as killer every game. These people are still finding ways to exploit rpd so that the killer can't get anyone in that goddamn library half the time and I'm sick of it. If survivors can dc and quit over every little thing I'm not playing this ######### ######### tier map anymore.

Psh. I just had a very special match as legion.
The survivor lobby had one duo, obvious due to matching names, Cheryl and Nancy. They had flashlights and did the funny clicky clicky, franklins wiped that from existence though. Now, that Cheryl wanted my attention BADLY so i assumed shed be a good looper and ignored her to go after her teammates. She spent the ENTIRE (!) match fast vaulting in and out of a locker to get my attention while i ignored her. The. Entire. Match. Even while i hooked the last other surv. She didnt do ######### all game and thought she was a big playmaker. But she is the sole reason i got a 4k. Had she done something productive, multiple people would have def escaped.
People like that should be timeouted or at least at the very bottom of mmr. But no. Everybody can get these trolls randomly. I reported her btw. Their names were hotbombshell and hotasyoucansee or something. DODGE THEM if youre a survivor because we all know not even reports do anything :)
I'm starting to think this is why my mmr is so screwed up. I stopped counting my win streaks after over a hundred solid. I THINK 150 but considering how many of those games had people doing that same thing and throwing games, I think the survivors who were throwing most of this patch have artificially inflated my MMR too high with wins I didn't deserve and now I can't keep up.
I am so far past infuriated I really want behavior to start banning toxic players/throwers/ quitters.
-
I take back what i said. same thing happening on clown who i have played twice since he released. There is absolutely nothing to do but force the goddamn ######### pallet and lose ######### gens. I literally wish I never won so many matches. This is worse than when I was new and could only get one kill. I can literally see and tell exactly what the ######### survivors are going to do and can't do a goddamn thing about it. Not to mention a single extra person walking up to interrupt the chase just ruins the entire goddamn thing.
I'm starting to understand truetalents rants now. Before I just thought he was salty but the game is literally pointless as a killer once the mmr gets higher. It took me getting here to understand why killers got these buffs that they got. The only way any survivors can possibly be mad at this patch is they are low rank and can't loop pallets. this is absolutely insane.
-
I do have to say the map is currently too big, but an exactly cut in half would be too small. Not sure what the solution is but I noticed the east wing phrase as well.
-
Also I can tell it depends on who I'm playing
doctor/dredge/legion/bubba who I had the MASSIVE win streaks on, I am stuck against sweaty swfs.
I'm still learning blight, and just tried clown....harder than when I was new sure, but definitely way less challenging than the killers I've been winning with. So I guess there is some truth to mmr being slightly different on each killer.
-
I'd like to point out I'm not saying I'm at TOP mmr. Dear lord I don't WANT to be in that sweat fest. I'm simply saying I can tell after my RIDICULOUS win rate lately, I've seen an obvious increase in survivor quality, and its' definitely "high" mmr, but no where near "highest"
Number one issue I need help with: survivors greeding pallets. I lose SO much time on this now and it was never an issue before. They run one way, I double back moonwalking to hide my red stain, flip directions and smack. It's worked for so long once I mastered it. But that isn't flying anymore. Seems like the ONLY thing I can do at most pallets (some weak pallets it still works) is just force it until they drop it. Wastes so much time, but the next survivor if I break chase here just does the same thing.
Same with windows. I used to simply moonwalk away, turn back and vault and BOOM the survivor had turned around and was right in front of me. Not any more. Now they run to a midway point between the window and opposite doorway and no matter what I do the loop just goes until the window is blocked.
tips on this? This is my biggest issue atm.

@Deathstroke said:
Like someone said here at high mmr you really need to tunnel one out. Ph is really good at that if you can get survivor tormented so you can ignore ds and bt or otr. He has also very strong antiloop but map mobility is what he lacks but if you can get quickly one out it should not be as big problem. Some games agains't those teams you are going to lose no matter what even otz loses agains't these caliber of teams. You play on console? so blight is not best killer to use as you can't use wall hug tech etc and his turning rate is just slower compared to pc.
I'm just now learning blight and yeah hes a challenge on console. Frankly nurse is as well. I'm doing....ok with blight. Definitely not good. Most of my blight hits are coming from me knowing my maps/angles as well as survivors messing up. Keep getting stuck on stupid small things like bushes as well, but thats an experience thing I'll get over time.
I typically main legion/dredge/bubba/doctor and dredge is more and more feeling High A tier low S tier to me. But those other three....idk how any of the top streamers play them against smart survivors.
Legion is good since his recent buffs plus the general killer buffs, but bubba and doctor are donkey doodoo against good survivors.

My main question would be: how do u know you are in Top-MMR.
Ive played SWFs with guys 6k hours or so but I dont know anything about my "rank".
I have 1,5k now (both roles)
The general ability to rush gens (im not complaining about gen rushers, that is literally the objective for them), the advanced pathing and 360ing (i dont fall for it much but i can tell when they know what they are doing) healing almost instantly, knowing when/ how to greed pallets, the perk loadouts and team plays.
Had a duo yesterday that consistently would let themselves go down on purpose to be sure they were at a locker for a headon/ flashbang play. They do their best to prevent a three gen, bring hatch offerings/brand new parts/ etc.
body blocking hooks and 360ing to avoid taking the hit
You can tell when you are getting high mmr survivors, because they play like high mmr survivors. I really wish behavior could just let us SEE. If i knew the teams were higher mmr than me and it's just a bad match making thing i wouldn't care as much. but atm idk whats up.

The other thing to keep in mind is that there's about a 30 second queue time difference between at 1850 MMR survivor and a 1600 MMR survivor. And although it's super rare, there's a wild skill difference between a top 1% 4 stack and 1600 MMR solos. But you can match up against that entire skill range at higher MMR. It would be like Overwatch throwing Plat through GM into the same matchmaking pool.
Thats def how it feels now. majority of my games are a 2-3 man swf that breaks my ankles with 1-2 people who have no clue what they are playing, like they loaded into minecraft or something.
-
Yeah I don't want tips on "the 4k". A little camping and tunneling at the right moment secures that with no effort. I need to actually loop better and down people so I don't have to depend on that as anything other than punishing survivor mistakes.

Yea....For some reason I don't think they're asking on tips on how to 4k. As much as they're asking how to get better at chases.
If I had tunneled/camped EVERY game I wouldn't have gotten to this level. Of course it does happen and has its place but I need some actual skill advice lol
-
I stopped dodging lobbies awhile ago just because I accepted I can't improve as killer if I don't play better survivors. I got better now I'm once again wanting to lobby dodge because of the sweats. Still not dodging though. Never going to improve staying playing the minor leagues bud, I'm sorry but lobby dodging isn't going to help you loop better sadly its the truth. Stomping baby survivors gets boring after a while. I am not making fun of you or being mean, its' just true.
Also like others have said it means nothing. My ash is prestige 3? 6? I know hes at least p3. But that's just points I dump into him for items. I suck at survivor. If you dodged my lobby you dodged an easy down because I can't loop for beans.
Prestige just means you put a lot of bp in a character nothing more. I play killer, get my bp, dump them into ash to get some items, and then die anyway. Lol

Before anyone complains about this being in italian, the screenshots explain that he is seeing different numbers on the nerfed thana based on what language his game is in.
however I also notice the perk location in the perk menu moved so I'm curious as to what happened in between these two pics, or if its him comparing his screen to someone elses.

The balance outlook isn't that bleak. If a player is a really skilled killer at higher/softcap MMR, they'll do fine and win with the vast majority of the roster. It would be a terrible game if a relatively inexperienced killer could consistently compete with a 20k hr 4 stack. The expected result is a one sided survivor stomp. There's nothing wrong with that. The match shouldn't happen in the first place.
For general tips against better survivors: Pay attention to where your first chase is going. You need to have a general area of the map you want to keep the second you load in and don't let that go in the first chase. Smart survivors are going to lead the first chase away from problem gens.
If you're smart about your first chase, it's not the end of the world if 3 gens go. It shouldn't happen, but it does happen sometimes. There are a lot of semi-safe pallets where it's possible to squeeze out an M1 if you play them just right. And you're going to have to get consistent at it or the game will be a pallet breaking simulator.
Remember who has been hooked and how many times. Don't chase the person who hasn't been hooked yet with 1 gen left when you have 1 or 2 others on death hook. You just need to 4k. It doesn't matter when it happens or what order
Yeah pretty much all of what you said I'm aware of. I don't chase anyone if I see them going straight to shack, I know which pallets I need to ignore/force vs which ones I can moonwalk and outplay to get a cheeky hit in. Idk. Hell idk if I even earned my current rank of if I'm boosted from all the survivors rage quitting recently tbh. Pretty easy to get the 3k when someone dcs at the start of the match >_>

Any one have any tech tips for a console player to post videos? Maybe i can get them onto youtube and post a link idk.
It does really feel like my only option is to do what I did originally: just play and sit through the rough impossible matches and improve. Really does feel like its' going to be even tougher now than before.
The effort to improvement ratio may simply not be worth it now.
-
I've seen more hackers this patch than I have in the years I've had the game. I'm lucky that its' been survivors hacking while I'm a survivor....but they still ruined my match and also stopped me from getting my challenge, so I was still salty about it.
Though being fair if you're a high mmr survivor atm you're going to be seeing a lot of nurses. This guy might have just seen so many he got tilted and said that and quit. I play console and you can do hacks on it but it's usually expensive and not worth the effort. Every hacker I've ever seen has been pc.

Even as a killer main let me say: MoM is officially worse than no mither. Ive been trying some solo q survivor because of killer queue times lately and this is ridiculous they nerfed Mom
I ran a no mither/resilience/Deja vu build a few games in a row and cranked out 2 gens solo each game. With plague and legion running rampant several of them my entire team was injured most of the game but at least my grunts of pain were ignored. Current meta is that no mither is LITERALLY better than MoM. I would 100% run no mither over Mom every match if I had to pick one or the other.
I need to take multiple hits, get healed by someone else taking them off a gen, I myself can't do a gen, AND the killer can see my aura meaning they KNOW I have the mettle of man endurance power, plus its all for one measly endurance effect? I can just pop a syptic. Or just you know...be healed and take a regular hit
Mean while with no mither I have a minor ability to avoid detection against plague/legion who are being played a lot right now (might change after the thana nerf, but I've always felt they were underrated and people may have learned that now.), get infinite unbreakable against baby killers/ if teammates hover and distract the killer, and can do instant 9% bonus with resilience from start of the match. Stacking with distortion I've popped my first gen EVERY match with this build.
I am not saying no mither is good, it's a meme perk at best. But if it's a meme what does that make MoM now?

So this current game im just going afk to avoid a dc penalty. playing as bubba (mid tier killer
four man swf, flashlights, two hovering for save. literally cannot get the pickup. chase one and injure them IMMEDIATELY and other gets the first pick up. pallet loop. three gens pop no hook. Zero way to win without camping the first person I manage to get and hope they go for altruism
the skill level it takes to beat high mmr swfs in this game thats people like otz has means playing several hundred hours for a marginal increase in skill level, period. I win the vast majority of my matches but at the end of the day once you start winning enough as killer you only play very sweaty swfs who don't misplay often and your killer absolutley determines if you win. I've played a MUCH better team than this as blight/dredge/spirit and won. Barely but I have routinely done it. But michael and bubba and trapper etc? You're not going to win against high mmr swfs until you reach a god tier skill level that normal gamers just aren't going to get.
So when we discuss this game balancing- such as thana for example- I don't think most players are looking at every skill level.
I'm not angry I cant beat this team- or the last one. I can't even remember the last time I had two teams in a row beat me. Like....maybe several months since this happened. But regardless even when pre nerfed thana this was a lost game from the start. Even with me downing my chases in under 20 seconds it was irrelevant. And hey the survivors played to get this good, they deserve to win. Just like it took me a long time to get to where I almost always win as killer
But the fact is the balance is lacking across the board. Had I been playing legion/blight/dredge this team would not have won. maybe a 2 escape tie or maybe I would have won. But bubba wasn't doing anything here without camping and I'm just tired and bored and not doing that so I just gave up. I know the math on this game pretty well and three gens done before first hook I don't care to play. And with the swf having one person on gens and the other three using going down in pallet/flashlight/body blocks to stop me from getting a hook- despite me getting my down in around 20 seconds, it's just not winnable or even fun. Trading off back and forth to stop me from getting the pick up, each chase ended almost immediately and still resulted in zero hooks in three gens.
And this wasn't even a bully squad. No teabagging or flashlight clicking, they just played well and are above my own mmr. But this is like four games in a row and it's making me not want to play anymore.
so yeah low mmr players can complain about gen regression and thana and camping and whatever else, but I need some tips from killers up in the higher ranks on how to deal with this. I am just now getting to the sweat fest part of killer and it's starting to feel like I'm a new player again. Still winning with my higher tier killers, but the moment I decide to learn someone new (tried cenobite and ghostface) its just a joke. This is why survivors complain they only ever see the same killers over and over. Once you hit good survivors/swfs 90% of the killers in this game are useless. Unless you have otz level skill it's impossible without the best killers/add ons.
-
I don't play plague, but for everyone discussing legion and thana: My legion build so far has a 90% win rate, and its the same one I was running before the patch, after the patch, and after the thana nerf. Ten times better than thana anyway.
Irridescent button, julies mixtape, with enduring, spirit fury, jolt, and w/e fourth perk.
I'm using overcharge currently but am expecting a nerf there too so may start trying deadlock or some other gen regression perk. Maybe nurses calling. For some insane reason everyone has started healing against legion again. I may not know my mmr, but I do know I'm always iri1 and the swfs are sweaty, so I am unsure why my survivors are healing but helps me out when they do so I'm not complaining.
iridescent button, Julies mixtape, with enduring, spirit fury, jolt, overcharge/any perk.
legion being so fast and ignoring pallets, even on the game I demolish. Everyone is going to MISS thana legion once people realize it wasn't even the strongest build. Doesn't matter what the gen speed is when every chase ends pretty much immediately. Like seriously we need to address how certain complaints from both sides are directly correlated to their mmr and skill level. Idk how many people really cared about thana across all skill levels. I ran thana on legion occasionally before, not denying it was powerful. But all the gen regression time in the world doesn't make up for long chases point blank. I think my thana build had maybe 80-85% win rate. Still good but frankly you can always kick gens, plus once 1-2 survivors die gens don't matter its' a hatch game for the last two. Ending chases quick and killing one or two people while 3-4 gens pop is better than slowly letting the gens get done during longer chases IMO.
-
My second to last game before hitting IRI 1 yesterday, I found an adam first and he ran into a dead zone. He just stopped and stared at me. I hit him and he didn't run. I hooked him, and after his team saved him he stayed there. I just killed him since he gave up, literally zero gens done.
I then chased an absolutely cracked jake for three generators. I could not catch this man. If even one other player had been his skill level all five gens would pop
That being said, I was just planning to let everyone go anyway since the Adam gave up. I double hooked everyone and the Jake didn't want the pity escape nor the claud. The jake pointed to hook and asked to die, and the claud killed herself on the hook. Last girl refused hatch and teabagged. So I don't really know what was expected of me in that situation. If I killed everyone I'd be a try hard since a teammate gave up, and they refused to just take the free win.
I also don't know why a potato Adam with no game sense who gives up was paired with that legacy Jake that broke my ankles. The claud was the same as the Jake but she didn't loop me, she went down taking protection hits for Jake thinking I was actually trying to tunnel him for real.
Mmr is a strange beast atm.
-
My last match had severalneas intentionally letting themselves down at lockers to do headon/blastmine plays. To the point I KNEW what they were doing and literally couldn't stop it until they made mistakes. Very frustrating to play against survivors who aren't trying to do gens or win but just want to irritate the killer *and also have the skills to back it up*. I gave the michaela an escape after killing the two neas. They had a player dc at the start of the match when I found him first, I cannot believe two sweaty swf probably top percent players would rather bully the killer than do gens. I downed the michaela before letting her go, had I not felt bad her team threw by refusing to do gens she would have died to most killer players being tilted that game. Such stupid match making. Also kind of ranting about the neas wanting to bully instead of do gens
-
I went ahead and removed it from all my builds the moment I saw the announcement. There is an immediate difference in killer gen pressure and I am already sweating more. I was trying to avoid tunneling as much as I could but frankly at the mmr I am in without that regression someone has to be gone. It's a real struggle to avoid playing that way when sweaty swfs or even solo q survivors that can loop for days can make chase-no matter how quick- turn into a 2-3 gen pop situation. I had a game tonight were three gens popped in the fir two minutes. I had another where the first gen popped at 41 seconds.
I'm not complaining for myself per se. But the fewer perks killers have to prevent gens from popping is going to encourage more camping/tunneling to slow the survivors down. It's going to be one or the other. I played without thana for several hours preparing for the update and had to definitely play much sweatier already than I was before, and I just didn't want to give hatch anymore. Working too darn hard for the kills while gens pop now I want them, queue times are too long to sweat this hard then not get my BP.Pip, so no more hatch/ having to tunnel is just going to be a thing I guess. And I'm saying all of this begrudginly. I'm sure theres plenty of killers who already felt fine camping and tunneling and are just going to see this nerf to thana and say "yup thats why i was playing this way in the first place." Continuing to remove the gen slowdown/regression is going to encourage more camping/tunneling. j=

I absolutely think the deactivation of any perk for a “conspicuous action” is crap.
For a survivor, it can easily be translated to “either get tunneled or make yourself lose by not being able to perform any of the objectives needed to progress towards escaping.” Many will argue “well, if you can do something then you’re not being tunneled” but that’s simply not true. Me tapping a gen doesn’t mean the killer isn’t chasing me or hasn’t used their stealth to hide around the corner just to down me again and hook me with no consequences. This defeats the purpose of Killers having any accountability for being toxic.
I was so excited for the huge perk rework and all of the things mentioned at the 6th anniversary, but I absolutely hate playing the game now. I mean, HATE, playing. Often times there is TOO much being done at once towards either side before you can take the time to evaluate the single change you’re making.
Example: increasing speed of gens while buffing an excessive amount of regression perks.
Example #2: increasing Killer’s M1 recovery while decreasing Survivors speed boost from a hit.
The examples don’t stop there. It’s an ongoing list. Bottom line, what Killer perks are turned off or deactivated by a Killer simply playing the game? Name one… There aren’t any because that’s ridiculous, but it continues to happen to Survivors and I am over it.
PS: Can we talk about how a camping Bubba continues to be the only Killer who is unaffected by the base kit BT and can down both Survivors immediately.
I would assume you are in a low mmr. Every killer in the game can ignore base kit bt. Frankly base kit bt does absolutely nothing and is encouraging unsafe unhooks, thereby encouraging camping. It either needs buffing or removing.
-
Already updated legion to a permanently injured/break pallets build because I knew this was coming. Too many people were complaining and usually that leads to a MASSIVEW over correction. My current legion build is ten times worse than thana ever was. I would dc against it personally. But everyone wanted thana gone now they will get something so much worse. Thana was a crutch for most legion players but they have a lot more tricky stuff to pull. Frankly even with thana or not legion is a b-c tier killer anyway. But yep thana is going to be absolutely horrible now.

The devs would literally lose their livelihood if they didn't care. It's pretty hard to balance a game where anything they do to help one sides inherently harms the other unfortunately. I do not believe they are disconnected from the community.
I DO feel their may be a grain of truth to the sentiment that they don't quite grasp some of the gameplay changes they make. Case in point when Patrick said "if you loop the killer for five gens and die was that REALLY a skilled play?" I dont understand hockey but I feel like scoring 100 goals is amazing, even if the other team scores 101 you still played an amazing game. (Adjust those numbers for relevant related scores in hockey). Also cutting the guy some slack, sometimes being interviewed and under pressure we misspeak. He may have been trying to say something entirely different and it came out wrong, who knows. But they do care about the community, but I think the time they have to spend on all the various tasks (design, programming, out reach, hackers, events, balancing, etc,) there is a strong chance that no, they don't intuitively understand the game as well as someone like OTZ who LITERALLY plays 8-15 hours a day because PLAYING it is his livelihood, MAKING it is theirs. Thats why they want our feedback, WE play and understand it, so that THEY can have the information to fix it.
For example the mettle of man rework incoming.
The conspicuous action addition means the following
1.) after taking a hit the survivor cannot heal themself
2.) in order to take another hit, they now need another survivor to heal them to avoid triggering the conspicuous action.
3.) this means there will be TWO survivors off gens .
5.) this rework means mettle of man requires one player to be off gens for a significant amount of time while another is off ATLEAST long enough to heal that person, who then remains off gens. This perk is actually worse than a styptic agent now.
I don't think this was well thought through at all. Also no one was even complaining about mettle of man, I don't think I see it more than once every 10-20 games and even then it rarely procs. Thana was a definite problem, as a killer main I felt obligated to run it on every build and was bored. Now its so over nerfed its useless. It basically goes away after the first kill.
Lets say you have three people injured, thats 6% of 90 seconds is 5.4 seconds. As long as even quick and easy chases go, that's absolutely useless to me. I have zero reason to run that on anyone but plague now and I don't even play plague. And even on plague who can keep everyone injured it once again stops working and goes down to 6% once someone dies or cleanses; meaning the survivors can just auto disable it against her then wait out her power or just out play her that one cleanse. Saying the killer has to "work to get four injures" is silly when one heal undoes that work and intentionally spreading the injures means survivors can heal over and over while you aren't patrolling the correct gens or chasing injured people. Getting max value from thana now will likely force new players to throw their matches. Thana is going to be a trap perk for new killers just like self care is considered a trap perk for new survivors.
Thana is now going to be an F tier perk instead of just having made it slightly weaker. These kinds of changes sure, I'll agree are silly. But the community?
If the devs were out of touch with the community we wouldn't have this forum. Imo.

It is supposedly just a bigger issue at lower ranks, if I recall reading correctly. The dms+pr is a much more powerful combo. I ran that but I didn't really run pr+ms. I'm going to be returning to dms+pr once the update happens since thana is being removed from the game entirely.
-
I don't think it's relevant. By the time the killer can see your aura they will have already gone to one of the players who they saw and aren't going to be near you. I think it's fine but major kudos and props for figuring that out. I use distortion every game now and am amazed at how often I notice it proc due to lethal, and will be keeping this in mind.

despite your effort it's admirable, things won't change unfortunately. As for me, i never insulted anyone in the endchat or played dirty despite all the bullshit that i've endured in those years, but i won't play anymore the way that people wish since i'm not appreciated regardless how i play. so i'm sorry for you since you are one of the FEW people out there that aren't toxic and deserve a good game, but i'll keep tunneling and camping. i just hope that you won't be present in my matches
Frankly I wouldn't mind, I do not feel camping and tunneling are even a problem. It's called playing defense as killer, point blank. I am only encouraging to slow it down to help the community feel better. I've routinely seen survivors loop killers for 2-5 gens while they try to tunnel, and if the killer isn't an insta down killer and you actually bring things like bt and otr they literally can't camp. These problems are not really a problem outside of the lower mmr in my personal opinion.
That being said who knows how long this positive mind set will last. I'm about to hop on killer (just did several survivor games. solo q is rough and I do not blame my killers tonight.) I know there is going to be teabagging/clicking/and salty inbox messages, so lets see how things go Lol.

Myers needs 300% stalk to pull this off. If your team feeds a myers enough stalk to get this power without popping gens that is low level survivor gameplay unfortunately. Go see how often this happens in tournaments or pro streamers videos. Its a meme build, I'm not being rude but it's a silly fun thing. Its a risk/reward for the killer. You basically throw nearly the entire match to get this power.
Not to mention corrupt was the only thing that really allowed it before, under the current patch it is actually weaker than ever to try this combo.
You will not find a single tier list online that puts Myers above C tier killer at best with or without this combo.
Also he can't even use the mori if you hop in a locker, meaning he wastes his entire game building stalk, then you STILL have 2 hook states per person before he can kill anyone. It is easily the worst red add on combo in the game if survivors know how to out play it (do gens, break line of sight and waste time while he is stalking, let him down you so he can't stalk, jump in lockers after the tier three activates.)
There is absolutely zero reason for this build to succeed outside of lower ranks. I know because the ONLY time I play Myers is with this build and the win rate is VERY low. I usually lose with it several times before finding a lobby where it works.

You said the game was over at that point anyway, so it sounds like Quentin was farming some last minute bp at the expense of his team mate. I see it quite a bit unfortunately
My point is it happened many times in that match and many times in others. Not every single game, but I 100% believe the base kit 5 seconds BT is making a lot of players act as though they can perform the same risky plays regular borrowed time allows without realizing it directly encourages the killer to tunnel. There is absolutely no reason not to do so. It's an emergency mechanic not an assured safe unhook.

"That 15% buff includes making up for the (I believe 8-10% debuff? I forget the exact number) that survivors receive for doing the gen together"
It's 15%. Prove thyself just removes the co-op penalty, it doesn't make gens go faster at all.
As mentioned earlier in this thread, it's only good for securing hotly contested gens.
Thankyou for the clarification. I knew the general concept but not the exact numbers. So again to the OP, provethyself really kind of helps you as killer at times. Having two survivors in the same spot is basically free real estate. Plus once you find and kick that gen, that means they weren't on two separate ones so its a risk of them losing more progress than had they been on two gens.

No, you should simply not call it childish to instantly end the possiblity for a conversation with people doing it.
Here is an example: Throwing games is affecting your fellow survivors as well and is unlikely to get the changes reverted anyway. Goooood
Throwing games is childish! Baaaaad. We have now instantly ended our chance at actually talking with those people and hopefully change their minds.
First example is being positive and respectful. Second is vengeful and combative and unlikely to achieve anything. This is why this post is hilarious <3
I can see your point. Personally I don't think it's that harsh but I'll edit the post.
-
I'm sorry friend but no. I am a killer main and as much as I despise seeing that perk it isn't as busted as you think
Many survivors don't realize you take an overall action economy debuff when you do gens together. It makes that ONE gen go faster, but it's still going slower than if you did two gens separately.
Prove thyself simply removes that penalty and adds the tiniest of buff. That 15% buff includes making up for the (I believe 8-10% debuff? I forget the exact number) that survivors receive for doing the gen together
If they actually did three separate gens while you were in chase you would be seeing things go even faster depending on your mmr and skill bracket.
Tl;dr prove thyself is a decent perk at best. Depending on the survivor communications and gen spawns it can both help and actually even hurt them so no it doesn't really need a nerf. It's fine where it is.
Then again as a killer main sure get rid of it Lmao. I can be honest about how it works but I still want to win lol

Lets all be a more positive
''throwing the game is ruining it and childish''
Very positive there bud
That isn't a positive or negative statement friend. It's just true. Do you honestly thinking throwing a match because you're upset is the mature way to handle things? I'm not sure why you thought this was a negative statement. But we can agree to disagree.
-
I've had a large amount of that as well. I used to love offering survivors to farm if they wanted to after I secured my win, you know just if I slug the last two people I know I've won. Theres no point in not letting them get some escape points if I've basically won. But so many matches now I go in planning to do that and they dc or send me salt before the match is over.
But lets also see their point of view. Ive done a ton of survivor since the patch. I love the extra challenge now, survivor felt like easy mode before. I also love the new perks. But after having a survivor throw on my team most games, and killers sweat most games, it does get to the point where you assume the worst.
My swf quit over all this, and I directly disagreed with them in some matches where they said we were being tunneled or camped. Did not go well as a conversation in the group. Sometimes the killer isn't tunneling but the team misplays. It happens.
I think a lot of these accusation are a group mindset. As a killer we simply respond to what the survivors do. Thats it, we just punish them for their mistakes is all. But when four people are together and losing they can feed each others energy and ego. They can be a group mind that rathe their owning their mistakes can all agree to blame the otherside isntead of accepting accountability
Every time I run to a dead zone, mess up a 360, or just misplay in general I audibly call myself out. Every time. Same as killer if I miss a swing or get outplayed at a loop.
But to my original point, I have yet to have even a single match since the update without survivors rushing hooks immediately and screaming camp/tunnel afterwards when they are encouraging the game play.
Last night I was playing doctor and the Jake got unhooked in front of me two times. After his second hook I just kept slugging him and going to hook other people across the map because I didn't think it was fair what his team did. I let him go down two more times just because it was so unfair. But of course I still got called camper/tunneler after the match which really upset me after I was throwing my match to make up for his bad team.
-
I have to admit even as a killer main, I am watching survivors not do gens and also not take chase and also letting people die on hook while im across the map.
Every game is either seal team six, or one good player paired with 3 potatoes
I'm considering just killing the potatoes and giving the good person hatch from now on.
I've been so tilted at the game lately and venting my anger in an unhealthy way towards my fellow players, and feel kind of guilty to be honest.
Lets all try to be positive influences in our community again people until this dust settles.

I think you misunderstood them.
It's not only the survivor who needs to get better, the same goes for killer as well.
This game (at it's been like this since day 1) isn't balanced.
At the lower end of the MMR the killer is the power role.
But once you get to higher MMR the power role starts to shift.
And i don't believe that that will ever really change because bhvr doesn't have 1 line for balancing and are all over the place with that.
What eternal was sating is that people nowadays want to get them handed the win with little to no effort to get better at something.
They rather go to forums and complain then see what their flaws in their playstyle are.
In their eyes they are right and the people they vs are wrong, because they know the game the best and should not lose.
Right now the killer side might be a bit stronger because of the meta shake up, but once it's settled down and people find new meta's, you'll see it will get quieter here and you will start seeing a difference again.

I'm a 300 hour player (mostly survivor). Since I cannot play solo queue anymore without becoming insane, I decided I would wait for next patch, but meanwhile I've started to play killer on a fresh account, and experimenting what it would look like if I try as hard as I can to be a d*** (mostly by facecamping and tunneling the same player).
Admittedly because it's a fresh account I started with low MMR - I didn't really want to ruin the reputation of my main account just to prove a point - but I don't have a lot of experience with killer so it should not be too far from my "skill" if I were to play normally. However, you will see that skill is not really the point here.
Now let's make it short, I have played 18 games so far, and every single game has had exactly 0 ESCAPE from survivors. In fact, survivors never even managed to complete the last gen, so it was not very close, although they went down to 1 gen several times.
So, that's a 18 win streak - and judging by my last games, there's no sign that it's ending soon. By the way, I'm no small man like Otzdarva, a win for me means ALL SURVIVORS DIE - NOT EVEN HATCH. Of course it's a d*** challenge so I feel like giving hatch would be unappropriate.
Since people will legitimately doubt my claims, I have recorded videos of most of these matches, but I'll make a short summary for each game so you don't have to watch it, and if you're used to solo queue, I'm sure lots of these games will look familiar.
Note: if someone can tell me how to check my kill/escape ratio (which should be at 100%) that would be great, so I can share the proof that there was no other match between them where I could have lost.
LINK TO VIDEOS
I uploaded everything on Youtube, but for your convenience as said I have a "breakdown" section below where I will sum them up.
Fellow survivor mains, I know it is disgusting, but I HIGHLY encourage you to watch some of these games. Check the BREAKDOWN section.
STRATEGY / BUILD
Simple gameplay, here are the main ideas:
Step 1: patrol gens and try to find a survivor quickly. This is the most critical step. Be sneaky, don't waste time in loops, switch target if needed.
Step 2: facecamp the survivor until they die (be patient)
Step 3: if other survivors manage to unhook, keep tunneling the same survivor, wait 5-10 sec to bait endurance. When survivors attempt to unhook, avoid hitting them as experienced survivors will try to bait you, ideally, try to grab them while they unhook.
Step 4 (optional): once 1 survivor is dead it's pretty easy to finish the game usually, but if you want to guarantee 4K, camp the 3 gens that are closest to each other, injure survivors so they all make noise, exploit their altruism so you can get them all down, only hook them AFTER they are all down, so they can't get the hatch.
VIDEO EXAMPLE 1 FOR THE "FACECAMP" STEP (from game 2)
VIDEO EXAMPLE 2 FOR THE "TUNNELING" STEP (from game 9)
I also have some particularly obnoxious games that demonstrate the "exploit altruism" step but since this is optional and particularly toxic let's skip that part.
BREAKDOWN
Here is a summary of each game, with a video link (time stamped directly to the most interesting part).
First game of the show, good to demonstrate the strategy. Started with Trapper as I thought he would be a good facecamper. Found Claudette quickly then stayed right in front of the hook . Nobody went to help her, so she DC'd after about 1 minute (5 gens left) leaving the game 3v1, her teammates were not fast enough with gens and it was relatively easy to finish.
Result: 4 kills, 1 gen left
A slightly better fight from survivors, showing that some are used to facecamping killers. Note that I have now switched to Nurse to increase the chance of DCs (this is my first game with Nurse - hope that it's obvious from the gameplay). I started to facecamp Leon but this time his team managed to distract me away from the hook, regardless I ended up getting a grab on the person who attempted to unhook and win easily.
Result: 4 kills, 5 gens left
Another very altruistic lobby, survivors try very hard to prevent me from tunneling David and even manage to successfully make me lose him, so I hook and camp Feng instead. Survivors try to save her too but this time I manage to down all of them.
Quite a sad game to be honest as I missed almost every blink and yet the whole game still ends in 5 minutes because survivors were too altruistic.
Result: 4 kills, 3 gens left
Not a very interesting game. I camp David, survivors make quick attempts at saving him but soon give up. David dies at 4 gens (!!). From there the game is easy to finish (although it takes me 7 more minutes to find the remaining survivors).
Result: 4 kills, 2 gens left
A very sad game as survivors really try to save their teammate but end up losing everything for it. Very touching survivors and merciless game from me, do not watch if you're faint-hearted. On a side note, I think this game illustrates well how disgusting you can play if you want to deny survivors the hatch: the game is clearly over after 3 min 30 s, yet it still takes me 15 more minutes to finish the last 3 survivors and ensure no one gets the hatch.
Result: 4 kills, 1 gen left
- Game 6: https://youtu.be/3zdffOIFdS8
Very poor game from both sides, not much to say about it. Bad SWF, bad gameplay from me (Note: following the previous game, I equipped Whispers to have a easier time finding the remaining 3 survivors - I will later switch to "Spies from the Shadows")
Result: 4 kills, 3 gens left
- Game 7: https://youtu.be/KVfalvEuHvQ?t=7
Another sad game. Hooked Nea right after start, someone DC's 30 seconds later, leaving everybody else hopeless. Survivors acted so cute that I considered letting them win and cancelling the game but eh, he DC'd after the hook so it's not really my fault, and I don't feel like that's what the majority of killers do when playing against me, so no mercy.
Result: 4 kills, 5 gens left
Best survivors I've faced so far, now the MMR finally went a bit up. This is a very telling game, worth watching as a whole (Warning: it is also very triggering, if you're a survivor main)
Here I found Cheryl quickly, but she was clearly a good player, so I gave up the chase and went for her teammates instead. I started to tunnel Kate, but only after a long chase, and by the time I hooked her for the first time there were only 2 gens remaining. From there it should be a loss for me, but as usual solo queuers try too hard to save their teammates and end up losing their advantage. Kate dies while Nancy attempts hoplessly to save her. By the time I hook Nancy still 2 gens remain. Nancy gets saved while I get greedy and damage a nearby gen, gives a fight and has DS which makes me lose time, but still not enough for her teammates to finish the remaining gens.
Result: 4 kills, 1 gen left
A rather easy game. Got Ash quickly, but his team tried hard to save him, bodyblocking, tanking hits etc. I could still tunnel him and get the other survivors shortly after.
Result: 4 kills, 4 gens left
- Game 10: https://youtu.be/fpAeqoe6C20?t=160
Another sad game. Clearly low MMR survivors, game was already over after 3 minutes when I grabbed the person who tried to unhook.
Result: 4 kills, 3 gens left
- Game 11: https://youtu.be/_siSwVFuDaw?t=241
Now this is the first truly heartbreaking game. Likely a SWF stack as these girls played very altruistic and 2 of them had the exact same skin, one Claudette even tried to disguise as the other so I would hook her instead when they were all down. Everybody tried to save the tunneled survivor but did not manage.
Result: 4 kills, 2 gens left
- Game 12: https://youtu.be/4QIOAuqHcys?t=55
Low MMR survivors, caught Claudette in 1 minute, very easy game, except for one thing: I tried to end the match too quickly at the end and almost gave Cheryl a chance to get hatch, this could have ended the streak.
Result: 4 kills, 3 gens left
- Game 13: https://youtu.be/lFNeHigQ_q8?t=73
Regular tunneling game, caught Mikaela, camped her, teammates ended up being grabbed while saving her.
Result: 4 kills, 2 gens left
Absolutely heartbreaking game. Tunneled Claudette but Nea managed to skillfully bait me and unhook her without getting grabbed (which shows just how often solo queue players have to face it). Claudette rage quitted, seeing what happened, survivors gave up and/or tried to act cute.
Conclusion
I humbly ask you, DbD game developers, to do me a favor and watch some of these games, especially game 14, and tell me if that matches your vision of how the game should be played, because actually, it matches what I've been getting lately as a solo queue survivor.
I trust that you have data that shows that the game is not killer-sided so I will refrain from debating balance, in fact I don't doubt that SWFs and/or the combination of old DS/BT/DH was too strong in some circumstances.
However, what seems clear to me, is that:
- The game may be not killer-sided, or survivor-sided, but it is definitely tryhard-sided. I think this echoes what Otzdarva said in a video: "DBD is extremely survivor-sided ?". Basically, your game can be fun under the assumption that people will play nice, but the rules and balance of the game do not prevent you to be extremely toxic. For example, camping a hooked survivor is seen as a d* move by most of the community, and yet managing to land a grab on someone who tries to unhook was multiple times a game-winning move for me.
- The game is full of anti-fun mechanics for survivors: very long gens that people don't want to do, one shot mechanics like NOED or grabbing a survivor who attempts to unhook, having to rely on killer's kindness to get hatch, survivor having to wait 4 minutes on ground if killer doesn't want to pick them up (hatch again), etc. Killers do not have to face such mechanics, and most importantly, do not rely on 3 random teammates to play the game.
- MMR doesn't work. I've played many PvP games, it seems unconceivable to me to get a 18 win streak against human players. Just think of it. 18 games x 4 kills each = 72 survivors dead. That's a LOT of people time wasted so that just one guy can have fun (me).
So, I don't know if I will continue playing and see if I can achieve longer streak, but ultimately, what has made me stop playing for now, is not toxic survivors, Dead Hard, DS, it is not gen rushing nor SWFs, ultimately the thing that makes me stop playing is just how heartbreaking some of the games must have been for survivors. If you've been in one of these games I hope you understand and wish you a nice day.
youre camping strategy now is the same camping strategy campers used before. so this entire experiment was pointless. you did nothing original.
if you played nurse you decided to use the games strongest killer to prove an already weak point most of us are aware of; yes camping often works. This isn't news.
you opened a new account using your 300 hours of skill and playtime to smurf on baby survivors
the mods/devs should lock this entire thread because this is absolutely asinine.
lastly you mentioned multiple dcs. Do you really count those as wins? Ill count them just to have the data but they get their own slot as "i won only because someone quit, not because i outplayed them"
do this again. do it on your own main account and real mmr against real players. do it with anyone but nurse/ blight/spirit, and do not count the games people dc/kill themselves on hook.
you will not win this much. point blank.
this was a flimsy experiment where you ruined a lot of peoples games for no reason.
