What killer do you play as?

in no particular order, legion, blight, dredge, doctor, bubba, ghostface, and im currently learning deathslinger, spirit, and plague. Probably capping out with that group cuz thats a ton of killers.

Every single match today has had 2-3 survivors with prestige 75-100.

Every game has gens popping within 40 seconds of loading in the game on average i don't even understand that math.

Even the games where i just go afk because its obviously players too far above my skill level they still want to click and teabag and taunt.

why is the match making so ######### lately and why are all the survivors literally the worst humans ive ever met

  • This is why killers keep quitting. I can't wait for the day survivors have an hour long queue time and don't understand why.

  • It is starting to piss me off that despite paying real money for skins and characters the devs don't care about loyal fans only new ones that play for two weeks and quit and say "oh yeah i played that game once". At this point I refuse to spend any more money on the game until they start addressing issues that have been problems for years.

  • Killer is just impossible and this game is going to die in a year. I just went back to playing survivor this week. After they buffed killers with that one patch that added gen time every casual survivor quit and now you can’t do two or three hooks before all five gens are done

now they are just releasing bad killers and needing good ones

one more toxic survivor match and I’m loading in with insidious and lightborn every single game for five days while I go do other things

the devs actively hate killer players being in the game for some reason

No. I keep saying it but you seem to ignore me.

I don't CARE about escaping most of the time, I'm not saying I should escape all the time, I'm not mad that I was killed. But it IS annoying to lose your pips over it

I don't care if I don't get to "play the game" that's not what I'm saying here. I'm saying I lose progress on a thing that is supposed to determine how much time I've played, not skill

Let me reiterate once again: I don't care about "winning", just keeping my pips and getting challenges done

I don't care about escaping and am not mad when I die

The problem I have about it is NOT that the tactic is strong or keeps them from playing the game, but that the survivor loses pips over it

Sure its a "team" game but that's only if you're trying to "win". I'm not, I'm only trying to keep my pips and do tome challenge

So you're admitting you dont care about your team only your own points? Classy.

Secondly the killer kicks the gen, you wait and do more gen. It's more points for you. It has nothing to do with pips and only increases the time spent doing your light bringer achievement so I don't even think you understand how the pips work. Secondly since moving from ranks to grades pips mean NOTHING. Used to we depipped back entire ranks (now called grades). You'll still earn those pips back even if you lose if you just play enough, they are easy to earn and worth nothing at this point but a few measly bloodpoints. And you must be new because usually after 1.5-2 years most players have everything unlocked or prestige. Def not what you should be focusing on to improve enough to beat eruption clearly.

I don't think that's what they are arguing.

They care about the BP bonuses you get at the end of the month for your Grade. As a Survivor, your ability to pip is largely dependent on how nice the Killer is going to be. If you get camped (or tunneled out) you aren't going to pip and it isn't really your fault for not being able to work on a gen or save a teammate.

Removing the ability to de-pip would help solve that issue.

pips are pointless. if you can't derank pips just mean time played- like you guys said losing four pips. But I remember fully losing ranks entirely. Rank MEANT you earned it. Now you just play enough and pip up. Frankly I don't validate that opinion.

You play enough you get everything and stop caring about bloodpoints anyway. Also if they are focusing on points instead of winning.....that may be relevant to their playstyle and why they aren't winning

Then the game design should be fixed. Promote more skilled plays. That's the real issue. Some people just want to ruin other people's experiences. No amount of incentives will fix that.

That we can agree on. The balancing around a lot of core mechanics needs to be looked at. The game is not anywhere near what it was when it launched. There is significant power creep and whole community is in this us vs them mentality so often.

camping is pretty ######### and shouldn't happen. At the same time there are some parts in some matches where its literally required or encouraged. match making is also bad.

for all this complaining id like to give a shout out to the devs. we all whine alot but from when i started to now the games glitches and graphics are improved so much over the year and despite the whining i do love playing.

It's not that it is OP, it is that it is mechanically frustrating and poorly designed.

Why should I get punished for not having information when Im playing in SoloQ, which means I am going to lack information by default?

Eruption is a horrible perk against SWFs, but it makes SoloQ a miserable experience. And Im tired of people saying "just get off the generator" when it abundantly clear that SoloQ does not have that information readily available, SWFs can say they are going to go down and to get off the generator, SoloQ cant, even with perks you need so many factors to align just to get the information you need.

Its a horror game. You're supposed to be punished until you know what the killer is running. This is literally why comms are powerful in the first place and why info perks exist. To counter being punished for not knowing. That is literally a flawed argument. would any killers even play if survivors knew their build before the match started? No. You play and figure out the perks. And that makes it a worse argument because the survivors have 16 perks the killer has no knowledge of and has to track. four exhaustion perks, who has the boon, plus who is the good or bad looper and remembering who is on which gen while chasing one person. Killers need to remember ten times more information than survivors and have 4 times as much of it hidden. That is an absolutely silly argument you made,

So its good against soloq and bad against swf? Ok. so you are telling me in a match with a solo player and a swf, it still dominates? There aren't many four stacks mate. Its usually 2 stack and 2 solo, or 3 stack and a solo. Most matches. Thats half or more people on comms in MOST games. It really just doesn't make any sense for you to say its only affecting solo players and not swfs when pretty much every match has a swf. Even if you get hit by it two or three people on comms and your own game awareness should really mitigate it.

I'm not saying we should always escape. I'm actually one to not care for escapes really unless I have a challenge that requires me to do so

"2k is a draw" sure but you're out the game, it does not matter what the game result is, you still lose a pip and that's what I'm trying to focus on here

You can be the only one that died at the very start and you still depip, it matters 0 what the game ends up being after you die

I'm not saying we should be able to get off the hook automatically and the exit gates magically get powered, I'm saying survivors shouldn't really get punished for a situation you couldn't do anything in

Have you not played survivor and didn't lose all 4 pips before?

That attitude right there shows me you aren't playing the game at the same level. You can't say "oh im out the game im mad" in a TEAM game. Sometimes you just have to take the bench so the other players can thrive. Sometimes it'll be them and not you. Thats the point of the game, especially considering comms aren't even supposed to be used from the original balance and design stand point (that is only for me to emphasize my point, i 100% standby swfs on comms being the only way survivor can be played)

if you dont care what happens after you die then thats the problem. Every survivor plays that way in a TEAM game. You literally have an alturism category.

you get hooks by camping bubba and #########. great. now your team loses because you through a tantrum and didn't care what happened after you died

but i am 100% sure if you were on a gen and saw the player not care about what happens after you would def be mad because it could have bought you gen time.

This entitled attitude of "i only care about MY fun" in a team game sounds like the bigger issue. If you admit you don't care about the team after you die then that means you're playing like it.

This is why you don't like the counters

“Frankly medivel armor is so heavy that with her a axe and being unencumbered she may fair well against him.”

I’m not big on knights and their history, but I do feel the need to point out that medieval plate armor isn’t nearly as limiting to your mobility as you would think. Here’s a video of people wearing knight armor and standing up from sitting, doing full sprints, even doing cartwheels and suplexing other people wearing knight armor.

    https://youtu.be/qzTwBQniLSc

I wouldn’t argue this particular point myself, but if I saw someone try to make the point that with all her winter gear, survival equipment, and trophies and trinkets from hunts stashed on her person at all times, Huntress’s outfit might be more encumbering than Tarhos’s, I wouldn’t immediately disagree.

Yeah I know how less cumbersome they are than we often think. Just wanted to give her a little hope in the fight haha

    That's....not how that works.

There's a certain amount of coordination required to win against a facecamping bubba. He doesn't need to do anything except sit there and look pretty and bring a good build.

In order to beat the Bubba in the gideo in my post, we need to do the following:

    Run Gen rush perks.

Have Reassurance or Kinship and pray that whoever has it doesn't get hooked first, like I did.

Run chase perks to extend the down.

Immediately assume he's going to camp.

Immediately run towards the Killer because of Corrupt so we can immediately start on gens.

    Start 4 different gens.

    Work around dead lock.

Bait out NWO and hide for 40 seconds.

Successfully open a door and escape, even though he could see both doors.

That's an insane amount of coordination to ask of four random players who don't know what they're getting into.

Why wouldn't you want to reward Killers for more skill-based gameplay? Why are you okay with people putting in a minimum amount of effort and getting a better result than someone who shows more skill? Shouldn't we change it to reward skilled plays and disincentivise stuff like this? How wouldn't that be a positive change?

    @Wewantjason said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3266479#Comment_3266479

So at HIS skill HIS survivors can beat bubba.

So at YOUR skill YOU should beat similarly skilled bubbas.

Again, of course the games BEST killer player will dominate with him camping in public matches. Still not in fair balanced ones though.

Unless your killers are otz level you should be getting killers YOUR level and averaging two escapes.

First of all lets all lower our tones. Clearly some of us- likely myself Included are getting too upset over a game right now.

    that being said

i mean youre supposed to run chase perks and gen rush perks. a care gens and chases. If you want to run non optimum perks you're going to get non optimum results.

I'm also not arguing that a camping bubba can ALWAYS have a safe unhook. I'm arguing that there is no reason for a camping bubba to get more than two kills unless survivors are misplaying or he brings rancor and saves the obsession

And unfortunately friend ANY killer in the game can camp out two hooks if they try, he just does is easier. But they can ALL do it. Hell they can all do it and bring rancor. A CAMPING kill just needs deadlock, corrupt, no way out, and rancor, to camp and get 2-3 kills per day

I was wanting to see how well reassurance would work and did some test games with bubba when it came out on ptb. I ran bubba camping builds and the same builds on some other killer. And the math said even reassurance wouldn't help and I was right it doesn't. Because like you said and I do agree- camping requires no skill. Even if you pause the hook timer if the killer is willing to camp and lose it is what it is. Only safe unhooks will beat a camping killer, bubba as other wise. but what i really learned in my experiments were the moment i camped someone (and again i find is lame and boring myself and try not to do it, i felt bad for these test matches and typically appologized for them) so many survivors swarmed the hook clicking and teabagging and not doing gens, that the person just always died with no gens being done. I won like ten games in a row as legion/deathslinger just camping because no one would do gens. That is 100% a survivor skill problem

secondly bubba is VERY easy to loop into a tantrum. Camping bubbas are usually BAD bubbas. My buddy routinely just takes the chase the moment we hear a saw cuz he loops the bubba 3-5 gens and we get an assured 3 escape everytime unless he finally catches my friend and we all bounce and take the 3Escape.

I admit bubba camps better and I admit its unfair

but bubba isn't the problem there. Camping is. I've been camped by probably every killer in this game at this point and without a swf on comms its always I die on hook or get farmed by a dumb teammate who could have been on gens.

It's a game design problem not a specific killer problem.

Double iri michael? lunge to down someone instead of kill them. Hook them. Collect salt when the first person coming for the unhook gets moried.

He was playing against Survivors of equal, if not higher, skill than him.

In public matches, sure. He managed a 100% win rate there.

So at HIS skill HIS survivors can beat bubba.

So at YOUR skill YOU should beat similarly skilled bubbas.

Again, of course the games BEST killer player will dominate with him camping in public matches. Still not in fair balanced ones though.

You guys have to stop assuming that

    1) otz and other streamers are gods because they are good at this game

    2) anything otz says while often aimed at the entire player base, not keeping in mind the nature of his skill tier when he speaks is ridiculous, and its' even more ridiculous when people want to bring him up for EVERY argument. I swear I've seen his name mentioned on both sides of almost every discussion in this game at this point.

  • A friend of mine routinely runs the killer for 3-5 gens then gets camped or tunneled. Best player on our team. Doesn't matter if killer focuses him even if the other three escape, his mmr goes down. Unlike the bullshit we've heard the devs say it's a VERY skilled play and VERY skilled player. Him losing has nothing to do with skill but sure, it's hockey and that's why he lost. Imagine playing hockey and scoring five hundred goals then you lose anyway despite the other team scoring ONE. Considering one dev openly said on camera "looping the killer for five gens then dying means you didn't make a skilled play" shows how out of touch at least that one dev is with the game if not more. Imagine a basket ball player ONE player getting 100 points, the other team COMBINED getting 101, and him being told he played poorly. Its absolutely stupid as hell. I really hate defending survivor but it's really stupid. This game punishes good survivors currently. If you bait a chase to help your team whether its one gen or five, you're likely to die no matter how skilled you are. You cannot stop a killer camping and tunneling so basing mmr on escapes makes no sense. It should be based on emblems like it was before. Not to mention how many players now who have to clue ######### grades are or how not deranking means your grade is MEANINGLESS with actual mmr hidden. Ive given up and stopped playing more times since this crap started than I EVER did before.

Not to mention my killer games. I have a few lucky matches where a survivor makes one mistake and it snowballs into a 4k. Now next game is a sweat fest I can't win because the game says "you won so you're skilled" when I did nothing skilled. Some idiot just led me to someone injured person on a gen or how their perks work. Every other game is potatoes who I toy with and let go or dowsey and ayrun level bullshit I'm not prepared for.

the current matchmaking system is the DUMBEST and WORST idea I have ever seen in ANY video game and so is EVERY explanation I've ever heard supporting it.

  • @Config said:

Never. Hopefully never, the time when sbmm was "working", that time was one of the most stressful and unfun times ever on dbd, they lost thousands of players, no one wants to play comp games every match. Be careful on what u are asking for.

More comp games every game now than before for me tbh i was having a better time prior.

So wasting the killers time in order to help the others escape is toxic? I stay on the gates in case someone is in chase and needs a bodyblock or to attract the killer's attention and gain time to others escape.

You aren't wasting anyones time. I'm not chasing anyone to the gate. If someone is still in the match that is who gets chased. How the hell is hiding in the gate helping your teammate lmao. Maybe if you come back to save them but then you aren't hiding in the gate are you?

Hiding in the gate is just a cowardly way for survivors to take a last clutch kill from the killer or to be toxic. You gain nothing from it and make the killer have an unpleasant experience. It's being rude and BM for the sake of being rude and BM. Nothing more.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3266429#Comment_3266429

Pretty sure Otz did an experiment where he camped as Bubba for a whole day.

    https://youtu.be/RGLLWqKysfk

Even against really good Survivors who knew exactly what they were doing and what build Otz would be running, he still got 2 kills.

It's not a skill issue, it's a design issue. If you can't see that, you need to take off the bias glasses like I have. Even as a Killer main, I can see that this sort of thing isn't fair and isn't healthy for the game.

Like, come on, they removed locker saves because it wasn't fun for Killers to play against.

If you are using the games widely considered to be most learned and one of the best- if not THE best- killer players to prove a point then there is literally no point in discussing anything with you. .

"Basketball isn't fair cuz Michael jordon dunked on a bunch of high schoolers" lmao thats the argument you made

90% of this player base is so far below otz in terms of killer skill it's laughable. I love otz and watch him more than any other streamer but it's ridiculous to bring up 1% players to address issues that are game wide.

Also the fact even otz averaged two kills just proves my point further. At a certain point skill does beat camping bubba. If even otz can't get a 100% win rate camping with bubba then I refuse to believe it's such an issue.

That is a reply to your point ! I didn’t absolutely asked for a next or suggest one CLEARLY saying that I M NOT affected by the perk because I don’t sit on gens. We were having a discussion about how the perk affect first of all the OP how stop it is against solo q. actually start thinking that u read none on my comments or u didn’t understand anything of what I said… it’s more likely like u are getting angry because people don’t agree with your point of view and instead of giving valid arguments that sustain your pov as I did you are just getting randomly angry and irritated.

oh and also u don’t know my game style and u clearly don’t know my game sense as I don’t know yours because I don’t know u and u don’t know me

I stand by my comments that eruption is not as powerful as OP thinks.

  • @PB_TORCHer said:

Boons can constantly be rekindled/ Hex needs undying. I’m aware of the perk that breaks boons. I guess killers might want to keep totems for some reasons. Killers lose hex totem’s early and it’s tuff luck. Survivors just go back and relight it. Imagine if killers could do the same. I don’t want it , but this is obviously uneven. Survivors need a perk -rekindled to reuse it. We should only get one use a totem otherwise. When it’s snuffed that’s it. This is even. Killers need to run a second perk of 4 to reuse it only once.

‘As a survivor I appreciate the boons occasionally, but honestly they waste a ton of time. I get annoyed when there my teammates priority over helping everyone get out by doing gens instead.

So please know I say this as a killer main who is...pretty openly wrathful towards survivor players

1.) most hexes are game changing and VERY powerful. Devour hope, ruin, and haunted grounds and all solo carry if they don't break. Its risk reward. Often worth it, and even if they break thats time not spent on gens. until youre in HIGHEST mmr, totems aren't THAT weak, im sorry but they aren't. And even then i routinely have games where survivors never break totems and still get a 1-2 escape. They know to not break haunted grounds, they know to stay on the gen cuz of ruin, etc. Hell one game I had them unhooking in front of me/ flashbang and exhaustion perks to make the save and left devour up all game. Told me so in end game and I was actually impressed. Never saw using unsafe hook rescues to avoid devour/undying before but it kinda worked

2.) most of the boons are trash. Unless the survivors are stacking them they aren't that strong. circle of healing is pretty good ill admit, IF the survivors put it in a smart place. They usually don't. All the other boons are situational at best. The anti slug boon is countered by just not slugging and rarely seen. The scratch mark boon is so so. Depends on map and killer so even that not a big deal

3.) too many killer complain that the boon can be reset. Yes. Thats a good thing. It takes us killers ONE second to snuff it and the survivor then has to waste time finding a totem again, AND waste time setting the boon, AND you get a notification sound it was set. I memorized totem spawns back when I mained survivor and now just keep my eyes out as killer and can typically find the boon while patroling gens or chasing. Boons waste a LOT of survivors time.

4.) unless its a two story clusterfuck where you down someone and can't get them to a hook, and the anti slug boon is on a different floor, or they have CoH on the opposite side of the map from the gens, the boons are bad. Those are the only two situations where they feel op. And even then thats a LOT of thinking and coordination from the survivors that I think justifies it being op in THAT scenario

Generally speaking bud if they are healing a hundred times per match because of CoH you just need to step it up. I rarely see people heal with CoH because I hit them, then hit them again and hook them. They may get healed after the unhook but I got my hook. Often by then I've snuffed the boon and it has to be reset. Frankly if you can get hooks and keep snuffing the boon they will never get gens done and call the boon player a thrower.

I think Carnifex is pretty lacking for armor, but then again you did specify a 1v1 so they’d probably just leave Tarhos to it.

Yeah he is the one the big guy? Tarhos might enjoy the fight. Frankly medivel armor is so heavy that with her a axe and being unencumbered she may fair well against him.

I don't understand why her speed is worse than his tbh but i'll call that an in game way of dealing with her distance attacks and not lore that she is actually slow. no one living as she lived could be slow.

I get her low speed for balance reasons but lore wise I feel like she should be fast as #########.

Actually I run bond every game when I play survivor cause I go for chases so I don’t bring the killer to a gen that is been worked on and because I bring a flashlight so I can maybe flashlight save. Telling be that I lack in game sense and that “im weak to the perk” (of that actually means anything) it’s not a valid argument, I actually explained how the perk eruption works in details. Eruption it’s not a problem for me because I go for chases, even if I die, I don’t care at all, I don’t wanna sit on a gen the whole game , I like the interaction with the killer.

if u are telling me to “let go” as u do with the pain res just shows that u don’t know how the perk works and that is not common in your games as theOP games, u don’t need to demolish other people experience just because u don’t get affected by something

and YOU don't need to keep trying to convince the devs to nerf one of the few good perks killers have left just because YOU can't beat it when I play both sides and it isn't an issue. You can't unilaterally nerf half the games player base because YOU and I have different play styles.

I wasn't being rude until you people decided not to actually respond to my points, you deserve direct criticism because you are complaining and not accepting answers to your complaints and just excusing them away.

I appreciate you trying to make this an us vs them thing but don't. It isn't like that.

This is a bad game mechanic. The counters to it don't work unless you have ideal circumstances and even then, the Killer can bring perks to tilt it further in their favor. My team actually performed the correct counterplay. Bubba still got 3 Kills.

It's bad game design and I'll continue to speak out against poor and unfun mechanics.

Considering the killer is supposed to be a power role, the devs intentionally buffed them to have slightly over 50% kill rates, and the POINT of the game for survivor is to feel like youre going to die, no. I think you people just don't want to play the game as intended. Just like it was built intentionally without in game comms to avoid swfs but you still do that. Hell I do too- take every advantage you get. Same goes for camping. I've camped with bubba and seen four man escapes and I've not camped and gotten 4ks.

Skill. Issue. Even if one person dies and three escapes that a victor for the survivors and a loss for the killer who depips and loses mmr (if mmr is real, I'm still convinced it's a lie from the devs and gotten "hidden" but really just removed to shorten queue times. But thats another topic.

You don't see too man top streamers camping as bubba because it only works well against low skill players. At BEST it's a 1-2.5 kill average against good survivors.

  • @nora_the_explora said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3266381#Comment_3266381

And I think that when u say that u are chasing somebody next to a gen and u see survivors let go it’s actually because they don’t want to get hit and they run away ,or because they are on coms. Eruption has a counter play and it’s a sws on coms, for solo q there’s basically no counter play

    1.) Run. Info. Perks.

2.) Run repressed alliance. Its a cheryl perk that is rarely used because its so situation but its good for eruption to a degree. Tap the gen, the moment you know someone is in chase hit repressed alliance and find a new gen, after they are down return to the original gen.

3.) Pay attention to which gens are sparking. sparking gen mean killer kicked it. Tap it then find a new gen. Game sense.

4.) Just pay attention to the chase and guess when to let go on occasion, even this reduces eruptions by a significant amount.

5.) You're solo? YOU take the chase then. Lets the comms players play around eruption.

6.) better yet if you TRULY feel only swfs counter it then make some friends. Get a swf. People hate solo q SOOOOOO much. SO DO I. SO I PLAY WITH A SWF. Thats why I'm a killer main in the first place is because if they aren't on then survivor is kinda lame. Just make friends in the game dude. I have an IRL swf AND one I met online playing dbd. It's a lot of players who if you're decent will let you play with them.

I just gave six solutions. There are probably more I'm not thinking of. You have solutions you just don't like them. You want to sit on your gen and make the killer work harder while you don't have to improve. That's childish and just complaining that you want to play the game without improving at it.

I'm not insulting you but you are receiving valid ways to counter it- ways that I myself and my team use to counter it- and just ignoring it. I'm done here. It sounds like you want an EASY answer or the perk nerfed, when the issue is it's a type of perk that requires more planning and game sense than other perks. Not all killer players even like it. I only run it in maybe 1/3 my builds because gens are so fast now passive regression is often better. I'd take brine/scourge/jolt/deadmans/deadlock those five- over eruption anyday despite how good it is.

based on what u said never used the perks or u barely play survivors ( it’s not an attack I’m just explaining) Eruption doesn’t trigger when the guy touches the ground but when he enters the dying state, wich means that when the killer get the validation from the hit, eruption triggers so it’s before they touch the ground. Using those perks don’t give u an indication of when the survivor is going down, a chase can last 10 seconds, 20 seconds 1 or 2 minutes depending on map rng and both players experience. To do what u said survivors should be able to see the killer aura aswell to know when he’s actually starting the swing, and there’s no such perks other that wire trap or kinderd, even then the range is limited and they need to get cases really close to a hooked person or a gen that hasn’t been kicked yet. If u let go as soon as u see a person is getting chase not knowing how much the chase is gonna last u are wasting time doing nothing for n• seconds wich is basically giving the killer a free eruption without triggering it.

Its not a problem for me as survivor and gets minimum value as killer. I still think you lack game sense or don't want to run a single info perk.

We are two players who have opposing views on the game issue. So at the end of the day it's going to come down to either one of us is better, or we have differing play styles and no one is better you're just weak to the perk and I'm not. I have perks/killers I know aren't as broken as I say they are because others can deal with them and I can't.

I mean, I feel like there would be several key differences between the WWI soldiers and the Guardia Compagnia when facing Huntress, not the least of which would be that the Guardia are most likely simply just better warriors than the soldiers were—in canon they felled entire legions (heh) of other knights by themselves, and spent their collective lifetimes doing so. Maybe we could also factor in how the Guardia definitely wouldn’t be scared out of their minds like the soldiers probably were when Huntress was playing with them, all but nullifying her efforts at toying with them to gain a psychological advantage. I think the single biggest game changer, however, is the fact that, well, Huntress uses a woodcutting axe and hatchets, and the knights are clad head to toe in armor pretty expressly designed to resist weapons of that nature.

Thats fair. I wouldn't expect her to seriously harm any one of them, just enough that they know not to take her lightly. Also do all three of the summons have armor? I haven't viewed them closely in terms of art but I feel like some aren't as honored as the main knight is

You are actually saying that seeing someone getting chased and getting hit quickly doesn't tell you maybe lay off the gen because they are going to go down soon? I've been hit by eruption in ONE match in the last SEVERAL months. When I run it as killer I've been chasing survivors near gens and WATCHED survivors let go as I get the down. If people know to let go for scourge they should know to let go for eruption. Even if you still get hit occasionally it's ridiculous to act as though there is no counterplay because there is. You just aren't paying attention to the game.

They'd duke it out with Oni on the regular most likely. They'd probably be very fascinated by Deathslinger's magical speargun and would be quite interested in its capacity to maim and kill. I was gonna say they might have a sparring match with Huntress but then I remembered that they're knights from the Middle Ages so they're most likely EXTREMELY sexist, so that's definitely not happening; matter of fact the only female killer I see them treating with any kind of respect whatsoever is Pig on account of her RBTs being great torture and execution devices.

Oh, and they'd beat the ever-loving daylights out of Trickster because, let's be real, who wouldn't?

As for your trickster comment I still find him the dumbest killer in the game.

While you are correct that they are likely sexist, they also would be impressed when huntress ######### them up 1v1. She took out a whole army squad in her lore that had guns. And she TOYED with them while she did it. I think they would be won over but occasionally make comments that triggered her, assuming she can actually communicate any longer. Really I imagine first meeting they offend her and she ######### one of them up badly and then never again.

The knight and crew would likely beat up trickster and a lot of other killers lol.

It’s Tombstone Piece (purple) that is the bigger problem. Pair it with J. Myers Memorial and it can be quite easy to: 1. get your Tier III to 99%, 2. walk up to a survivor with your small Tier II Terror Radius, and 3. pop Tier III and kill them before they even know what’s happening (and before they have a chance to hop in a locker or anything else).

You can basically do the same thing with Judith’s Tombstone, but it’s at least a little harder.

I usually do the hair plus judiths. Gives me a much bigger challenge having to get a couple hooks in tier 1/2 to slow the game down and having to stalk that much makes it feel fair.

I haven't toyed with the purple one much because it seems as you said a bit strong, admittedly.

But even then man all they need to do is hop in a locker and its no different from his instadown because it's still a single hook that can get a blind/sabo.

The purple and red addon are VERY strong but also so easy to counter. I had a mikey game where i had tier three with one gen done (both red add ons) and only got the first mori. After that all three just looped tight and used lockers. Admittedly the looping only helps a little against the red one but it fully counters the purple one.

Too many of this discussions are never based around what level of skill the players are all playing at.

The real problem is michael is a VERY weak killer without these addons, so these players probably lose often. They are then stuck with low skill survivors who aren't ABLE to deal with the tombstones addons as easily as higher skilled survivors are able to deal with him. Nerf those addons without a rework and his pick rate would drop tremendously, and again even then those addons don't always work against good teams.

99% of this games problems are balance based. Michael hasn't been updated in what, 20+ killers? He can't keep up without his addons. I've stopped playing him because you basically have to prestige killers now to get the good addons. I don't think I see purple addons until a 20-30% of my blood web nor red addons til the second half if not further.

  • This might help with toxicity. If the devs publicly announse they are releasing an emote for people to be friendly only with hell yeah.

I've executed many survivors who I thought were being toxic but weren't simply because I was nice to them, they teabagged, and I thought they were spitting on my offer but turns out its their only emote lmao. Some do however let me know after they were just being toxic, so yeah, atleast one more emote would be nice.

  • Tryhard is just what bad players call good players because they don't have anything better to say after losing. It's just someone acting like a punk because they lost. Frankly it's a compliment to me, because usually when I get that message I wasn't even trying at all. Hammers home how salty and bad the player saying it really happens to be.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

Eruption. I am tired of getting hit with Eruption.

Eruption has no counterplay other than getting off the generator before a survivor goes down. The issue is that you cannot tell when a survivor is going to go down in SoloQ. You dont have the comms that SWF has to deal with it. Leading a horrible experience since Eruption's only counterplay is non-existent.

I had a match were I only got 2K Objective score because I got hit with Eruption 5 times. For those who dont know, that's 50% generator progress in regression combined with 125 seconds of not being able to do anything.

You cant heal. You cant do totems. You cant go and kiss your Granny goodnight because the Incapacitated debuff carries over IRL. You cant do anything. 2 minutes of not being able to do anything is dumb.

The match lasted 20+ minutes because like everyone else these days all you see is 4 slowdown perks just hammering your generators into oblivion. Which for my SWF is not an issue, but for SoloQ is just makes matches incredibly painful since the lack of comms really make things horrible.

I normally play both sides evenly in DBD but stuff like this has made me really want to play killer more than survivor. I might have to deal with people bringing BNPs every game, but at least I feel like I can do something.

you have multiple ways to track the killer and your teammate in solo q. You just don't want to run information perks.

  • Some killers in this game are good and some suck. Just point blank they are bad when facing good survivors and the devs do not care. If every killer were good the survivors would complain and no one wants that

Also yeah. The MOMENT you play a new OR weaker killer the survivors turn into utter pricks. Then you go back to blight or nurse or spirit and they ######### and cry about only ever seeing meta killers

Not to mention we were sooooooo riled up about the killer buffs a while back as a community. Now we see killers can't get purple or red addons in the blood webs without grinding millions of bloodpoints anymore meanwhile survivors get their BEST items EVERY SINGLE GAME now. Yeah if you aren't running iri/purple on nurse/spirit/blight and maybe a few of the a/b tier killers, you're going to have a bad match every game

It's at a point with toxic survivors that I've gone from playing after work 5-7 nights a week to 3-5 that now I might log in once a week. Even getting a 4k with 1 gen done is infuriating because it's nothing but toxic tea bagging and insults post games. Win or lose it's miserable. And that win still has to take half and hour to an hour because of the survivors hiding and healing infinitely, it's becoming a time sink to play most of the time.

  • Lol. The addon that has a ton of counterplay and requires mikey to lose anywhere from ATLEAST 2 gens and sometimes 3-5 gens getting his THREE HUNDRE PERCENT STALK, then taking a MOVEMENT penalty when he gets the ability that is countered by good looping or simply lockers, and is a RED addon

This entire thread is more entitled crying.

  • This entire Bubba discussion is too many years old and really needs to die. No one cares about this or expects a change except new players complaining or salty players who can't except you can still escape and the TEAM win by doing gens while bubba camps. This is why devs have it publicly stated camping and tunneling aren't reportable.

When I FIRST started maining bubba sure I'd camp. And I'd win alot. Then suddenly one day the other three survivors were able to crank out 3-5 gens before second hook and I started losing. I had to learn to play him for real.

I main Bubba. I play him fairly usually NOW. Well until recently when the survivor toxicity made me realize it doesn't matter

Many many many games where I've tracked hooking each person atleast 1-2 times before a kill and actively avoiding chasing someone if I know I hooked them last. Had my husband sit and watch some of the games. Still get insults and toxic ######### in the end game chat. So NOW I'm not handicapping myself. If I see the smart move is to leave hook, then I leave. If I see gens blocked/ people running to teabag and grab my attention by the hook (which means I know you aren't doign a gen. play better. don't do that then blame me I'm not taking the bait. Do you ######### gens.) at that point I'm not getting off of this hook. I wont intentionally tunnel but if you get unhooked and healed then can't stealth and I find you thats YOUR BAD GAME SENSE. NOT me tunneling.

Survivors train killers to play how they play not the other way around.

Look, at the end of the day Bubba isn't the problem. It's the community. I have seen LITERALLY EVER killer in this game camp. And it almost always works to a degree. Bubba is best at it but it's a community and behavior problem. People still camp with all killers and especially michael, billy, trickster, huntress, twins, artist. Even twins and artist who were designed with trying to prevent camping in mind can still do it pretty effectively. Do you suggest nerfing all of these guys too? What about wesker camping and most the team infected? What about a camping plague? Forces a risky down or trade because everyone is injured and can't unhook, or cleanse and give her a pool while STILL likely doing a trade anyway. Huntress camping with iri head? Michael in perma tier three/double red addons? Ive had double iri mikey games where they try the locker tech OR I just lunge and down them instead of mori. Just patrol and see someone running to hook and merc them. Nothing they could do. And that was leaving the hook and chasing someone I saw running to it from across several tiles. Not even true camping which would have been an assured two kill since they always think I ONLY have hair and not tombstone. Use the hair to bait the next survivors into thinking they are safe before the mori.

    Bubbas camp for two reasons.

1.) Some people suck. Some people are just bullies and also bad at games and they are going to do this no matter what. Stop Bubba from camping they will just camp with someone else. You're just nerfing a character you aren't good enough to play around. Mummy dwight recently in a game I 3ked was so good I couldn't catch him with my saw. Point blank period could not catch him. Be like that.

2.) Until the devs do something about toxic behavior instead of only toxic chat/cheating, its not going to change. Point blank most killers just reach a point of not caring. We get insulted and trash talked and tea bagged whether we win/lose and whether we are fair/unfair and the stupid "fair" rules are made up by survivors anyway, not even the actual game rules.

tl;dr bubba isn't the problem. It's a toxic community and bad survivors. Bubbas are just capitalizing on those two things and will do so with the next killer most able. You guys nerf bubba you're just going to make them pick the second bets camper and sprinkle on some tunneling. Or they get good and switch to nurse like I'm trying to do.

I don't think survivors are aware that by taunting the killer and being "toxic" they create the conditions to be camped/tunneled on the next trials :') call it karma

They are. I had someone being a toxic dick a few days ago and I messaged them later (ps4 is only direct no group chat after game) to attempt being friendly and say GG sense they got slaughtered

Lo and behold ms. toxic and I have had THREE matches over the course of a year where they are so toxic-but also very bad- and lose. Was really depressing thinking I could talk to the person, maybe they weren't toxic and I misunderstood, nope. Everytime I hope to be positive in this community people just disappoint, most do anyway.

  • @TheArbiter said:

I never understand these posts. Just hit them out. The game ends faster, and both sides get chaser points

If they are being that toxic I don't WANT them to get points. And as killer I'm getting more than them anyway. I'd rather them waste their time and not get the points while I get points breaking things I missed in the trial. They want to be toxic they don't get their points.

I used to try to give people hatch or door but have stopped that too. Even doing that doesn't garner a sense of community comraderies from 85+% of survivors

Had a guy recently start teabagging me because his adrenaline went off when last gen popped. Got him and the other player left who did the gen anyway. Walked OVER hatch to hook him. Had the audacity to call me an ######### for not giving him that hatch. Pointed out how toxic he was being and asked why I should have given him the hatch and he said "cuz it was rude not to give it to him." But fine with him showboating and being a dick over his second chance perk popping off because someone else did a gen.

And still wasn't even good enough to make use of it. Mans lost to a trapper, and I don't even play trapper. Lol.

  • @Lost_Boy said:

Just another typical survivor behaviour that keeps the neverending cycle of toxicity going game after game on both sides.

Killer gets annoyed because they played in a non toxic manner yet survivors don't recognize this and like to gloat because they managed to escape. Next game killer has no mercy and tunnels the weak link out the game early and survivors get all salty and proceed abuse end game chat and teabag & waste time at the next available opportunity. The cycle continues & everyone just plays toxic and doesn't really care anymore.

I wouldn't even consider this the most toxic thing. I really despise when you have 2 survivors left and the game is unwinnable at that point because they 3/4 genned themselves and they just tap gens and hide for like half and hour. Normally I'll at least give them the opportunity to find the hatch if they play normal, but if they waste my time I just let them bleed out.

This one gets me every time

I had FIVE games in a row recently where i decided to play by their dumbass rule book.

All five someone ran to a dead hook where player four had died, then past it to the corner, knowing it meant I couldn't hook them. I am a good killer and know this. So I left to chase a teammate. Hooking number three meant number two had to pick up number one. Gens are now regressing and we are cycling. Except not cycling hooks. Survivor just keeps running back to that corner. Has the audacity to ######### about being slugged and bled out.

Can any survivor player tell me how the ######### you do that then complain when you get left there? You are CHOOSING to go to an inaccessible area for the killer then cry when you get stuck bored bleeding out. Whats the point? I get its better than a hook but if you want to take the killers hook away the killer isn't going to reward you for that.

These people watch one or two pro streamers do this on OCCASSION because SOMETIMES its a good play. But it's often not optimal and gets you slugged. But since you can't loop you try some ######### you aren't skilled enough in game awareness for then cry when you bleed out.

Basekit unbreakable is going to make these specific plays impossible. Killer either has to let them get up by going back in the map, picking them up to wiggle free again and run back (this SPECIFIC issue will make basekit unbreakable so strong that it will be nerfed almost immediately because kill rates will plummet when survivors start abusing this), or just go afk and dc

Again the devs hate killers despite the big buff we recently got. It has done nothing to actually help the game, in fact the buff forced survivors into emergency mode and they are playing more sweaty and toxic than ever before the buff to keep up. I can acknowledge sweating more but not the toxicity.

tl;dr yeah survivors are pretty awful

I myself stay at the exit gates to occupy the killer incase my teammates need more time to open the other gate.

You. Toxic players like you pissed in my cornflakes. People like you are also why I stopped playing the game for real and just tunnel with rancor now. Every. Single. Match.

Rancor/nemesis. Tunnel and camp one person out. Then if the gens are not done tunnel the obsession and down them to kill at last gen. I

  • I go around breaking any walls or pallets I missed. They only do that to be s h i t t y humans. They are probably the same people who kick dogs in real life.

Ive said it a million times

killer does something 'toxic" because it helps them win and everyone cries

survivors do something toxic for NO REASON EXCEPT PURE TOXICITY and no one understands why its infuriating

If I tunnel someone or camp them as killer it's because the survivors are playing in a way that forces me to. No it's not fun but it furthers the objective

Survivors being toxic (in this case waiting in gate but really any example works) do it PURELY to make the game unenjoyable for the killer and to make the community worse.

Those surivvors hanging in the gate (and tea bagging, and clicking before the nerd, and all the other ######### they do_ are literally why the game keeps getting worse, can't be balanced

devs can't balance around ######### because them doing that ######### doesn't affect gameplay, its just to be #########.

My friend welcome to seeing why camping and tunneling are encouraged by so many killers. The survivors actively WANT to ruin the game for the otherside so ruin it for them first.

  • At this point if the devs don’t care about balance and the survivors are ######### every match because they notice the obvious skill gap, I’ll just start tunneling the first weak link I find and not care about winning

one kill per match should send the mmr back down. Better than sweating for the one or two. If I’m going to most likely get against these obvious swfs and their toxic bulls hit. Just get my one kill and derank and move on.

frankly after this week I am at a point of just wanting to make the game miserable for survivors as much as possible not even to win anymore

  • I play both sides about evenly though I prefer killer. Only play survivor with my swf group if they log on

This ENTIRE update sounds asinine on both sides and makes both sides sound miserable to play.

  • Back to not playing killer ever once that patch is live. Until they realize how stupid this is and change it again. Every time I think I can come back to this game after quitting it's barely even a whole patch and they drive people away again smdh. So tired of trying to play fair and getting screwed anyway. Just going back to face camping with instadown powers again because they clearly hate killers. Once decent buff for ten more seconds on gens and survivors ended up with basekit BT. Now they get unbreakable too. Next patch it'll be basekit pre-nerd Decisive and eventually killers are just deleted from the game altogether lmao

  • I hadn't thought about it but you're correct unfortunately

I spend my whole time last month half assing my red one. From ash to red4 I let people go most matches or would let a kill go so I could get points hooking and easier chase or break stuff etc. I just didn't care as long as I was getting BP to grind my perks (currently trying to get all perks on all killers, even if I don't play them. game changes so often who knows when ill play one I didn't play before)

I didn't start sweating until red rank. So many games with easy teams because my mmr was bad Lol.

Once I got back to my mmr though the seal team six groups were back and it wasn't fun. Idk. The game is getting to a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.

Reassurance means a single survivor can add up to 3 minutes to any hook stage no questions asked. Doesnt matter if you are near the hook or on the other side of the map. If some one is on death hook and the rest of the team is doing fine, its 100% better to use reassurance to keep the guy on the hook than to save them and risk getting them sacrificed.

Reassurance needs a few conditions to not be batshit insane.

My brother in christ the survivor has to be within six meters. If they get close enough you have a free chase and a third person has to come unhook. If the other two stay on gens and you down that person now you have two people on hook. Yes it'll make camping a little harder but it will also lure a survivor out to you

And if you aren't camping they aren't going to use it, they will do the unhook. They can't all three stay on gens AND come use the perk.

These scenarios are possible yes but I do not see them playing out in a real match.

  • There is no problem with end game collapse. If you haven't gotten your kills at that point, and can only squeeze out maybe one more, you got outplayed.

I hate on survivor players a lot I'll admit

But lately my killer brothers are really disappointing me with some of the crying.

EGC is almost PURELY there FOR the killer, because prior the survivors could take the match hostage. Not to mention as I said, you didn't gets your kills before the gens popped, then you lost. Hard stop. If you get to keep killing after the gens popped, then whats the point of them doing gens to start with?

  • Don't blame all killers. If someone kills themself/dcs before first gen I let the whole team farm, assuming no one teabagged/bmed me

But one the BMing starts its game over.

I did recently spare a michaela who did three gens after the first guy dced first down and the other two toxically trolled me all match. Killed them and had michaela death hook, i closed hatch to be cheeky and took her to the door and let her go.

A lot of killers will be nice.

Also it depends on the time of month. If I'm going for my iri one I can't afford to let you go, but if I'm still in the early parts of it I will. Once I hit red4 though all bets are off until red1

  • haven't used a key since they reworked key/hatch

    It was TOO good before

Now I'd take a brown medkit over a key EVERY game. Only good for rift challenges, or that one dumb meme build demi did recently.

What I'd like to see is a graph's that shows generator completion and hook states vs mmr. I feel like 1100 to 1700 MMR is survivors just getting destroyed, few hook states and few generators getting completed. 1700 to cap (1900?) is probably a bit better but with still dominant 4k's. 1900 and above probably still shows killer struggling. So everyone's perspective on the forums might be correct....the killers lamenting survivors are the power roll may be true, if you are a top MMR killer. But I'd hazard a guess that is not where most of this games population exists.

I think that dead hard should have been nerfed, and no other changes to the basekit for killers should have been made. The perk changes themselves are kind of whatever.

yeahhhhh.....past six months I have lost almost never as killer. New patch I've won even more. I know we can't see mmr but suddenly a few days ago BOOOM. Every survivor is playing like Ayrun and JRM and I can't do anything at all. Really frustrating after winning for so long. Im' not mad at the survivors, some with 9k hours, they deserve to win after getting so good at the game! But my win rate did NOT mean I was ready for the mmr the game seems to think I'm in at ALL. It's starting to feel like there are new players and pros, and nothing in between sadly.

Its frustrating to call out loud as someone watches me play every single move/loop/360/flashlight as its about to happen, and either 1) boringly call it out and outplay it, or 2.) call it out but the survivor is so cracked at the game I still fall for it and lose even though I know its coming due to the sheer skill gap.

Long queus. What were once less then a minute queu times would now be 3+.

At an almost 70% win rate of 3 kills or more, killer life was easy before the path.

Now it's a joke. The games are no challenge whatsoever.

Prepatch, mercy was a common and normal thing.

    HOWEVER

The devs have admitted that they use "statistical analysis, social media, and in house testing."

This is how they rationalized, justified, and concluded with the recent changes.

    Variables like:

-percentage of survivors who are not killed or sacrificed. Thus, farming, giving hatch, allowing escapes, or being any type of nice actually skews the statistics. It actually hurts the game to give people a chance. Okay. Time to play for real.

-streams, and videos as the prime example of what is actually happening in the world. Because if some youtuber is posting videos of bullying the killer, then that HAS to be what happens everwhere! Screw the casuals. They don't deserve to play. We'll use unicorn squads where everyone is comms and change the game based on a worst case scenario for the killer.

-developers who play that game, and playing what is essentially a company wide killer your friends is a solid reflection of what happens when it's the internet and people are anonymous.

Thanks for changing the game to being about playing a killer and just rolling everyone. Survivor mains are playing more and more killer because survivor life is AWFUL.

And as a killer main. The guilt is real!

Pictures below are 4k games with 3 different killers. Dc's happened just before a survivor died. I.e. not early game.

Never face camped to secure the kill. Never went out of my way to tunnel a survivor. Never ran noed, or thano.

Prepatch. 7 out of 10 games, I'd get 3 or more kills.

Postpatch. It's literally a joke. 9 out of 10 games, I'd get 3 or more kills if that. The only time the game was ever any type of challenge was when I'd run into a unicorn squad of all red rank players. 1 game out of 10. ONE. It would be 2 kills or less.

I'm a killer main. Others may blame the survivor. Others may say it would be different if this, that or something. But this is real world. Not theoretical.

Thanks for longer queu times for a boring game.

Welcome to a world of Dbd where you HAVE to be pro to even stand a chance against a killer.

I have no less then 40 dbd twitch streamers that I follow. EVERY SINGLE ONE has played less dbd since the patch. Way to kill the game, devs.

You were probably fine with just nerfing Dead Hard. You knee jerked into a killer buff while nerfing several survivor perks to the ground. Decisive strike was annoying before but part of the fun was guessing if they actually have it. Not that it mattered. 5 seconds wasn't enough to save them. You could still chase after them and finish them anyway. Now. Even if they run it. 3 seconds is basically enough to shake my head and down them anyway.

Survivors HAVE to play meta perks (because experimentation, trying things out, well, that's for people who WANT to die). They HAVE to be in comms (it doesn't even matter that much if they are. But hey, in this environment anything that improves the chances of escaping). And players need to be pro to even stand a chance (I have seen streamers, and played with, and against players with MULTIPLE thousands of hours, and.

    They. ALL. Get ROLLED!

Okay. For that kind of skill level and playtime. They will have some good games. But gone are the days of a group of 4 friends stringing together a streak of 4 outs.

    Thanks for nothing.

First things first. Based on the screenshot those were bad survivors, point blank, so this wasn't the best evidence for your claims

Secondly, despite that previous statement I made -I mostly said it because everyone else has or will say it, not because it matters too much- you are mostly correct sadly.

The game has always been as follows: new survivors will die to a new killer, 99% of the time. For the vast majority of players the games are usually even or killer sided. At HIGH mmr, survivors crush and bully killers and it's very difficult for them. Thats why players like OTZ are so popular in the first place- the ability to crush it as killer at that high level. My insane win streak finally recently brought me to that mmr and I regret it. This patch made killer so easy that now I'm getting almost entirely pro survivors and can't win at all. But the games those pro survivors aren't in my match....it's just too easy and unfair. 4ks at zero or one gen done. It's either 0k or 4k every match. I have not had a single game that wasn't that since the recent patch happened. Actually I had a single 3k now that I think of it. so maybe 100+ games, i had 90+ 4k, around 4-5 0k against some absolutely cracked players- one guy I went to his stream and he had 9k hours on survivor. I may have a few hundred on killer at best, and I'm not sure about that. Horribly impossible unfair match. Not angry at that survivor, he deserves to win if he has played and practiced that much, but there's no reason for me to play him. Let alone the other three in the lobby. But the game after his I played against some potatoes who were so bad I swear they had to have bought the game that week.

I think behavior needs to revisit their matchmaking to address this issue because the game balancing isn't working out

Also looking at the new survivor perks from project W, I feel the survivors may get some helpful buffs, but it seems to me it'll just be a minor impact on the majority of players and make the discrepancy at high mmr worse than ever.

tl/dr this patch recent patch combined with the ridiculous match making system they use now has really made it boring like you said. Every single match is 4k or 0k. And I can immediately tell at first chase which way the game will go with astounding accuracy.
