  • I have a cool NOED idea.

    Do freaking totems.

  • Some of you have way too much faith in BHVR. This is the same developer that launched Freddy, nerfed him into oblivion only a couple weeks later, and now one and a half years later, we’re STILL waiting for his rework.

You aren’t talking about skipping one chapter here, you’re talking about multiple chapters. And they won’t pass on that money.

I’m just speculating here, it seems Ruin has become a crutch for you.

    Learn better gen pressure.

    Yes!

ALL killers are quite capable of applying meaningful gen pressure.

Hexes are a risk/reward perk, with bigger emphasis on risk. Deal with it.

You can’t revolve your strategies around a perk (or perks) that can be deactivated WITHOUT also having back up strategies you can fall back on. Be adaptable.

Cool story, but I enjoy using some of the M1 killers, and play at high ranks, so Ruin is usually required just for the off chance that it spawns somewhere decent.

Its gone too fast to be a crutch. Also, Ruin isn’t the only hex perk.

totems are fine some of them are bad but they cant fix it again since survivors will adapt and memories what places totems spawn and about the door it needs a fix if theres 1vs1 the killer just won the game theres no hope for the survivor the doors are very close to each other but also killers will notice about the red light when you try to open the exit door so dont get so angry about it besides not every killer suppose to win every mach sometimes you can get 2k or 3k or even 4k but not all the time 4k

Killer hex spawns right by a gen: meh what can you do, it’s fine

Doors spawn close, survivors third escape chance won’t be easy: reeeeeeeeeeeee

Its a common mistake to think that way.

As a team you are one entity and looking out for each other and it would mean you all win or you all lose as one.

DBD can use the word team when in SWF as they are set up like a squad all on comms, but when solo its a free for all.

When solo you are working for your own benefit by saving, each action is done for yourself and bloodpoints and making your chances to escape and also for keeping the chance someone else to get chased higher.

If someone dies and you escape it doesn't matter in the end as it's not your team member, it has no bearing on what you get, its just a random person who got sacrificed hence playing solo DBD is a 1v1v1v1v1 and why it states help others or don't.

That’s a whole lot of text I’m not reading just because you want to nitpick the definition of team 😆

  • I’ve recently discovered how good this is on Bubba. You lose your obsession three times and you can easily saw three survivors. They freak the **** out when you’re charging the saw and still gaining on them.

It makes you lose emblems though.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

While totems could be better hidden you lost me when you said "with your team"

Whether you’re SWF or not, you’re still on a team trying to do gens.

  • @zimer said:

i must agree that they really focus more on quantity..

just imagine if each killer had his own gamemode or something

And the problem with quantity is (in my opinion), that if they finnaly decide to create a new killer with a new gamemode, with new mechanics, etc, it would be a really pain in the bottom to update/adapt all the previous DLCs i think

Im still waiting for the day BHVR will either become a 100+ man company, or just get bought by a gaming giant and get some serious quality content into this game (im looking at you valve)

    BHVR has over 400 employees.

  • Yes, as a killer I can't wait for the day when solo players are as strong as SWF

  • Killers have been dealing with terrible spawns for years, on a consistent basis.

Survivor mains have had to deal with bad spawns for a week or so, rarely, just on occasion when the end game is reached and they're alone and the killer closes the hatch and the doors are too close... and it's time for an immediate nerf to the killer end game.

Saddest part is the way this game has been going, BHVR is going to do it.

Your objective? Repair five gens so you can power the exit door. Oh, you failed that? Ok. New objective: find the hatch before the killer does. Oh ######### you failed at that, too? Third chance for escape: open the exit door.

Survivor main: waaaaa this is too hard and unfair please make it even ezer!!

Runs great on mine almost as good as other 60fps titles such as Overwatch, Warframe, BO 4 etc.

No idea why its bad on your 1X though, I use a 50" 1080p (non HDR no 4k) TV but can't see why that would make it run better on mine compared to yours.

Maybe you don’t run killer or don’t run the ones most affected, idk.

Also DbD isn’t a 60 FPS console title. Their roadmap says they want to hit that eventually. Not there yet.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

@Well_Placed_HexTotem "There are tons and tons of UE4 games out that look spectacular and perform amazing. "

The first half of this statement is correct. Games running on UE look amazing.

The second half is just flat out wrong. UE has so many issues it's not even funny. Most relating to collisions, which is why hitboxes are so messed up in this game.

Just look at Epic's flagship UE titles Unreal and Gears of War. Both of these games have so many bugs it's literally UNREAL.

Unreal Engine makes games look nice, but it isn't very good for making them play nice.

For starters why would you compare hit boxes on shooters versus a melee title. Also, literally every engine ever used to make a shooter has had hit box issues.

You can also take any engine and list some games that run poorly. UE is no exception, even UE4. But the fact remains that there are plenty of games out there that prove that with quality optimization, you can get a game that runs very well.

So is the DbD team at BHVR incompetent, or is making the game run well just too low a priority behind further monetization?

  • @Easylife said:

I really wish you could see how amazing the game runs now on the X1X which is also "on console". (50-60fps)

I wonder if all those still on the original base PS4/Xbox will invest in the PS5 (announced) or Xbox 2 (if they call it that) which may be as early as 2020.

How old are the base consoles now anyway, (looked it up) they will be 6 years old in November, TBH I thought they were older than that.

I use the One X. The frame rate is doodoo.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

I'm playing on PS4 Pro. For me, the performance improved with patch 2.6 but after the most recent patch 2.7 it got worse again. More frame drops than before. It's sad that the positive trend didn't continue.

(Keep in mind that I'm only talking about PS4. I read from Xbox players that the performance on their console got better.)

I started on a launch Xbox and now play on an X, it doesn’t make any difference.

  • It's a crappy thing to do to people and I'm shocked at the amount of killer mains who stream and would cry about survivors holding the game hostage, that are now holding survivors hostage and forcing EGC kills. Nothing annoys me as a killer quite like some piece of **** waiting at the exit gate instead of just leaving, but I wouldn't do that to survivors.

Fun side note, survivors still do the same crap, they now just have a time limit.

  • With red rank you get access to:

Elitism that only the red ranks can provide.

    As killer:

    the sweatiest of survivors

FREE unlimited supply of post game salt

exposure to many more SWF teams

    incredibly long queue times

    As survivor:

    the sweatiest killer mains

access too many many more mori’s

an abundance of Nurse, Billy, and Spirit gameplay

  • If you have a key in the lobby, I will find you and tunnel you to death.

If you flashlight me at a pallet or vault, it’s tunnel time.

Last second switches in the lobby get camped.

Outside do that, only if we have history, or the gates are powered.

  • These would make the perk useless. A decent survvivor team is going to knock out 2-3 gens while you tunnel and camp the obsession. The payoff for killer is the rest of the survivors get a massive speed penalty. If the only reward was a completed gen reverted, that’s not worth it.

Furthermore with the obsession mechanic changing so that obsession can bounce between multiple survivors, DL has already been nerfed.

Basically this rework makes DL worthless for killer and no big deal for survivors.

  • Yeah he's garbage.

The main problem is they were hit too hard with nerfs across the board. Sure, you get a "free hit", maybe, but then what? You go chase someone else in frenzy, leaving the other person to freely mend? Then you're just wasting your time. You chase that first person down and M1 them? Then you're just a generic M1 killer, only you have ZERO power in a chase. You know who else has a "free" first hit and then nothing in a chase? Freddy.

How much fun does getting looped to death as an M1 killer with no chase power sound? Well, like heaven to survivors obviously. It's the same crap they did with Freddy, listened to the low skill survivors and nerfed them too hard. Did Legion need nerfs to remove the cheese? Hell yeah. But now they're a low tier, add-on requiring doodoo killer.

The vast majority of players have absolutely no idea how to properly balance a killer

115% movement speed is good enough as long as the power isn't garbage as is supported by existing killers (and it made no sense that a killer that is supposed to be fast has slower movement speed than a guy with a limp who is also carrying a chainsaw)

Getting a free hit with the power is good, you can use it to hit multiple people which fits the original design and fantasy and is obviously a good ability to have

The original fantasy is still there. The power is less annoying to play against (and I would argue that the powerlevel is up as well). The rework is fine

“abs long as the power isn’t garbage”

Thats what it is now. You’re spreading around a “free hit” that isn’t remotely intimidating because it’s so easy to mend now with the nerfs.

Good survivors just wont heal, like they do now against Plague. So you’re left with a generic M1 killer with no power in a chase. How original for killers. Imagine Trapper in a chase, only there’s no threat of traps.

Its another weak, add-on reliant M1 killer.

  • Yikes, it’s 2019 and there are still people who think the killers are in the power role? Do you also believe the world is flat?

The game will never be balanced because of SWF.

  • You must be new to DbD. Virtually every event is riddled with BS.

  • So now that we have statistics out on how often you actually come up against a FULL SWF team (the highest being 6% on PC), and how little it actually matters in terms of survival rate (solo was like 41% and a full team was around 49%), can we stop whining about how SWF is this game breaking OP thing that needs a huge nerf.

I like the part about not relying on a playstyle where survivors can’t communicate... i mean, Dbd is literally designed around that idea. They’re yet to balance the game or perks around SWF. Look at DD from Plague or the aura from Ash. Both utterly useless in a SWF match.

  • Two sides to the coin. As killer, it seems like the BP events bring out the terrible altruism among SWF and the heartless farming of randoms.

By terrible altruism I’m the talking about the four stacks who will run right up to the hook while you’re hooking and then complain that you chased them near the hook. Or they unhook right in front of you and teabag or spam a flashlight like I’m not going to chase the injured person 😆

  • Hard face camp every obsession.

    Its worked great!

  • No thanks. The game is poorly balanced as it is. Adding 8 more perks for a killer to deal with isn’t viable.

  • I played a match last night on the swamp, where you can actually get some decent spawn points. I was a survivor, and the totem actually did spawn in a nice spot that would have been difficult to find for most survivors.

Problem was it spawned me right by it so I ran for like two seconds and looked to my right and there it was.

  • I’d rather have Pinhead than GF. GF just seems like another Legion, and Legion just got beat with the nerf stick.

  • It’s intended. Imagine the outcry from SWF mains if they couldn’t get those sweet flashlight saves on their buddies.

  • They’ll cite the user agreement most likely, most companies have language in them that protects them from this sort of incompetence.

What counterplay? Magically know who has it and only bring specific killers into the match that can instadown full health survivors instead of injuring them first?

My counter is hard camping every obsession. If they only get two hooks, they don’t get MoM 🕺🏿

  • @ClogWench said:

They have to give people more time to buy ash for his perk before they consider touching it.

    lol exactly

  • Cool, another killer for BHVR to mess up and have to nerf.

  • Something the most basic QC and testing should have picked up, if true.

Literally no one cares and no one is proud. Congratulations for making this game slightly worse than it worse before if that's what you want

    @No_Cluie_Louis

hey little buddy. Played ten matches with this hilarious Legion build yesterday. Got eight 4k’s and one person who escaped twice 👍

  • Woah woah you mean concerned killer mains were right all along and the “bubbubu wait for PTB!!!” whiners were full of crap? Who knew.

  • Wraith nerfs? What? He’s already one of the weakest killers 😆

  • Why would we need to wait for a PTB to see how a weak M1 killer with no substantial power in a chase will play? A killer that won’t be any fun unless you rely on add-ons? We already have Wraith, Trapper, Doctor, Bubba, etc for that.

What they could have done is made Legion harder to exploit but left his power as something worth using and something that made Legion unique. Instead it’s a weak time waster for survivors made even weaker by upcoming mend buffs and Legion has no means whatsoever to help in a chase.

We really need a PTB to see how that’s gonna work out? 😆😆😆

  • woah woah @PiiFree, dont be using logic here

  • Game loves pooping on Legion as much as devs do. Five games, three were Haddonfield.

Worst I did with this setup was 3k twice. Once they got all gens done and one escaped by door. Downed the last one with NOED and mori’d her as she looked for hatch. Another they died and hatch spawned and last one got it.

Even got a 4 stack and mori’d them all. Ash couldn’t find hatch 😆

This cooldown combo is amazing. Survivors don’t expect you to be out of your stun that quick, lead to all kinds of mistakes.

  • @Phi said:

How long until people realize that these changes are to get him into a better position to fix over time rather than a hail mary shot of balance all at once?

Maybe Legion mains understand this perfectly fine but they also know it takes BHVR ages to do anything?

When was Freddy nerfed? And hes still a piece of trash? How long have all the M1 killers struggled in this meta? How long did something as simple as hiding killer perks take?

Ugh, game three and a Haddonfield offering.

  • Game 1: Backwater Swamp.

they get one gen done, everyone gets hooked once. Two stay for their mori, one DCs during it, her SWF buddy DCs right after.

Im running Cold Dirt and Joeys Mix tape. Do these affect how long Legion is stunned when FF ends? I thought it would just make it charge faster. There’s almost no stun, you hit them twice in FF and its almost a free down!

Loading up game two now... yuck Haddonfield. Here comes the single digit frame rates!

  • Starting my purge of Legion stuff now. Sadly I ran out of FMT while farming for the Deranged Pursuit achievement. But I do have 25 moris!

I’m going to run Ruin and BBQ. Just to be annoying, I’m going to throw on Franklins and NOED 😆

  • Cool, so we go from no real counter play if played a particular way, to completely useless with no reason to play whatsoever. Pretty good job so far.

  • They needed a change. But what they got is nerfed to oblivion.

Imagine a Trapper with no traps. That’s Legion now.

Yeah, sure, Pig has traps that slow the game down a little bit. But they’re also lethal. Legion doesn’t have that. You won’t even down with their power now 😆

  • Is this sarcasm? There’s three levels of difference.

  • It would be cool if it was consoles being added to PTB.

    PUBG has it.

  • Keys are dumb and shouldn’t exist anyway. Same with one hook moris. They’re too powerful.

As a killer main if I see a key in the lobby I’m hunting that person down and making sure they die.

  • Legion needed a change but the nerf given makes Legion a doodoo killer. I’ll join you in this. Gotta deplete all my moris and bloodpoint boosts off them anyway since they’ll be a worthless killer very soon.

Plus it’ll help counter the MoM/Adrenaline/DH/dstrike meta that tryhards are using now. Can’t tell you how many times I ran into that yesterday while trying to learn some Nurse. Never camping unless all the gens were done, never tunneling. Yet the MoM/Adrenaline/dstrike combo is always coupled with tbags/pointing/messages. Never DC’d though. But what do you wanna bet I could run into these same survivors and half are going to DC once Franks Mix Tape gets in their ass, Larry?

  • I have thousands of hours on the game, mostly as killer, and enjoy it very much. Seems it’s very much for me 👍

Most games, none of my rules ever even come up.

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 16
