@Skarkio I would cleanse if I knew where all five totems are located but I don't and I'm not going to run a build specifically for targeting totems.

This is exactly why survivors have trouble with NOED. They don’t want to adapt or change their build to account for totems.

99% of the time it’s “oh NOED is such a crutch perk for baby killers” and it’s said by survivors running BT, BL/Lithe, Adrenaline, and dstrike

  • You get BP and pips by doing things in a match. You use a mori, you have less chances to do those things that get you BP and pips.

If you want to use moris and still pip, hook people twice on your own. No need to rework moris. Most high rank killers bring moris in to deal with known toxic players or tryhard SWF groups.

  • Stopped reading at “spawns aren’t the problem”.

    They are the problem.

  • When I run NOED on Trapper I don’t protect random totems because it makes it obvious

  • @Awakey said:

I could put this the other way around.

Every killer game I've played for the last two days, my Ruin has been cleansed within the first 30 seconds of the game. They need to improve totem spots because I shouldn't have to play with 3 perks.

Bad RNG for survivors = ######### BHVR complete killer cucks confirmed plz nerf

Bad RNG for killers = oh well it’s RNG git gud

  • This is survivor entitlement at its finest.

    Do gens.

Wait for someone to be picked up and then disarm the trap and cleanse the totem.

Get a toolbox and sabo the traps.

    Do gens?

You have these options and more at your disposal. Somehow I doubt you feel like it’s BS when you spawn right by a gen and look right next to it and there’s a hex totem that the killer can’t even defend before you cleanse it.

  • Gates don’t need a minimum distance. It’s RNG. Just like when a survivor spawns right by my Ruin.

  • In your scenario, survivors:

    1. Failed to survive
    2. Failed to do all gens
    3. Failed to find hatch first

Yet, they’re still entitled to a free escape?

  • Specifically referring to the situation where the killer closes the hatch to trigger EGC, not when a gate is open.

Yeah it makes it fair for the last survivor because it means an easy escape for the survivor. What about being fair for the killer?

If you're the last survivor left and the killer closes the hatch with no doors open, that means that survivors have:

    Failed to stay alive.

    Failed to do the gens.

Failed to find the hatch before killer.

At what point do we stop giving survivors extra chances to escape? Also, people need to stop complaining about the exit gate spawns and try to mind game the killer some. I've escaped plenty of Nurse and Billy uses by just outsmarting them when the doors are too close. Let me just give a couple of tips. First, you can open the door maybe 1/6 of the way or so before a light comes on alerting the killer that someone is opening that door. Hide, wait for the killer to check the door and leave, then open it for like 3 seconds then hide again. The killer will return, it will look untouched, and they will go to the other door. This buys you a few seconds when the killer returns and those seconds are the difference between life and death. Two, hide and wait for a killer to leave. Open the door enough that the first light comes on, then walk away hiding from the killer, towards the other door. 99% of killers will be so worried about leaving that door that is already lit up, you can easily go to the other door and open it.

Instead of bellyaching about how unfair it is, just try harder. Also, the next time you spawn, take three steps and see the Ruin totem, remember that killers deal with bad RNG spawn too.

Noed should be removed. I know I know but before the "Survivior main spotted" comments come in, I'm a filthy Nurse main. So killers as well as Surviviors hate me

Noed, simply put, does not reward the killer for good gameplay or punish the Survivior for bad gameplay. It rewards killers for bad gameplay and punishes Surviviors for good gameplay. Let's think about the trigger conditions and the dichotomy that is established.

How many totems need to be cleansed for NOED to not trigger? All 5. That means Surviviors can do 4/5 totems and Noed will still trigger. So there's a lot of effort that needs to be put into countering Noed. Let's juxtapose this with what the killer needs to do in order to trigger Noed. Which is...let the Surviviors complete the gens. This is btw, something you are NOT supposed to do. You are not supposed to let Surviviors complete their win condition in order to escape as a team. Noed allows you to let them complete their objective and rewards you for failing, which to me is gross.

Survivors have to be victims of toxic behavior to earn decisive strike and they have to work for Mettle of Man. They have to have a friend who is a victim of toxic behavior for borrowed time. Killers that ride everything on Noed are not smart killers trying to punish the genrushing toxic squadettes clicking their flashlights at poor bubba's and Wraiths who have to deal with windows. They're plain and simply put, bad at the game. And I specifically recall killer mains as a whole saying that BHVR shouldn't balance this game around people who are bad at the game.

Oh right. I forgot. Ur only bad if ur a Survivior main. If you consistently can't even get a kill with killers it's just bc Surviviors are OP, right?

End game perks exist for a reason. The end game. Survivors reaching end game isn't always the result of "bad play" from the killer. You said you're a Nurse main which is fine, but Nurse breaks the game and a good Nurse doesn't have to worry about any of the stuff every other killer has to deal with. Mostly, loops. If I'm using an M1 killer and I'm not running Ruin or it gets destroyed 15 seconds into the game, then unless I got amazingly lucky map RNG, I'm #########. I might be able to stop the survivors from knocking out all five gens, but in the red ranks where I am now, they're going to gen rush me into oblivion. It's not "bad play" for a killer to be in this situation. It's called the meta of the game. And thats ignoring end game builds.

Also, it's not toxic to have DS triggered on you. If I hook someone and they quickly Deliverance off the hook, is it really toxic for the killer to go back and down them? If a gate is opened and I have a survivor hooked near, is it toxic for me to go after the injured survivor if they're unhooked? Same with BT. Yeah, the main use for that perk was to combat campers, but it gets triggered many times even if you aren't camping.

Both sides have end game perks. You aren't "bad" for using them lol

  • I mean.. whats the difference?

You cleanse every dull totem on the map just in case one of them has been selected to be NOED.

    vs

You cleanse every dull totem on the map just in case the killer has NOED.

It's a large nerf to NOED because survivors might only cleanse one dull totem and it happens to be the dull NOED? Sounds so horrific for killers, I actually think BHVR might do it.

  • It’s terrible, but they know it’s terrible. We tell them every time they go back to this doodoo matchmaking but they still go back

I love queuing for ten minutes just to get into a lobby with one survivor and waiting more for others to join

Apparently smacking the obsession makes it so you don't lose your stacks.

I've legit only had it happened once; and the one time it didn't lose the stack properly, I just swung again in the air to lose the stack.

    Weird

I lost a stack whether I chainsawed or not

  • What is the PWYF glitch?

I run it on Bubba, just played a match and saw no difference

  • They’ll fix gates right after they fix hex totem spawns

  • Oh did they finally kill Blendette?

Also like any company, BHVR has a disclaimer when you buy this stuff warning you that they can change it

  • Killer searches take much much longer than survivor.

  • @miaasma said:

in solo queue you rarely have time to cleanse totems, especially on maps with incredibly weird totem spawns like swamp

noed isn't an OP perk in my opinion because all it does is get the killer one or two consolation prizes at the end (sure sometimes it'll get them a 4k from a 0k but if you made it to the point where noed is activated you've basically won anyway, escaping is just 5k points), but i will consider it an unhealthy perk for the game, just like MoM and old DS were

Wrong. I solo queue at high ranks exclusively and I cleanse the hell out of totems. I used to run Detective's Hunch to find them but now even that isn't necessary.

If we make it to end game and the killer has NOED then me and the other survivors failed, plain and simple.

  • Of course they’ll ban you for exploiting their incompetence

  • I had a Fred match in red rank the other day and they brought two full instant heals. Needless to say it didn’t work out too well for me

  • The game will never be balanced.

You'll always have SWF, which breaks the game. You'll always have killers like Nurse, Billy, and Spirit with the beads add-on that can break the game for survivors if the killer is good enough.

And you'll always have bottom tier M1 killers who are there to give survivors a chance but are frustrating to play as in this current meta at higher ranks against good survivors.

So you need to either accept that most of the killers gameplay will revolve around eating pallets, become a survivor main, or go play a different game.

  • On Xbox the map has doodoo frame rates. Like probably the worst in the game

    I will DC every time

  • Quality advice

    will follow suit on Xbox

    MS is great about refunds

  • Surprise, implementation three or four of this doodoo matchmaking sucks, just like the previous times it was thrown out

  • PS4 gets Tess.

    Switch gets Luigis Mansion Luigi.

Xbox gets Ori as a killer

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

I didnt see anyone mention this but part of the problem is you have a lot of people who dont normally play killer playing killer mostly because killer gives more bloodpoints vs survivor thats a pretty known thing around double bloodpoint events i just dont understand why behavior is scared to make bp gains the same but it is what it is i guess.

The BP shouldn’t be equal. Killers have to spend a lot more just to play the game adequately

  • @SmokePotion said:

Keep in mind, it'sd double BP weekend. Which means it will take a while to get a game, when playing killer. If they would even out the BP farm on both sides, this wouldn't happen. But every time we have double BP time, a lot more people jump on killer over survivor.

This doodoo matchmaking was back before double BP. The wait has little to nothing to do with double BP. Its a terrible queue system that just adds to the time it takes to get a match

  • There are two perks that make totem hunting a breeze, but survivors don't want to drop one of their clutch perks for them.

  • Every time they've switched to this, we've complained that it adds a ton of time to queueing as killer. Yet they keep going back to this.

  • Killers deal with abysmal RNG totem spawns for years and survivors say "well duh its rng! dont use ruin duh"

Survivors deal with sometimes unlucky RNG door spawns for one month and survivors say "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THIS IS UNFAIR NERF NERF NERF"

  • Narcos chapter confirmed

  • For BP, level up David King for WGLF. Also Dwight for Prove Thyself.

Killers, level up Bubba for that sweet sweet BBQ. Potentially Hag for Ruin.

Use Wraith and Doctor for ez BP gains.

  • Swap out Small Game for Detective's Hunch. If you do two gens and make sure you do them on different sides of the map, all totems will be revealed to you.

  • Of course it will seem like killers can be “more” toxic, they’re in a more powerful role. They see your GT before the match even starts. It will always seem more personal to be mori spammed or tunneled or camped than to be BM’d by a survivor or messaged salt.

But the tendency for survivors to be toxic far far outweighs the 4v1 math.

  • On Xbox it’s survivor and not even close.

In my thousands of hours on the game, the amount of times a killer has played toxic or sent toxic messages is a tiny tiny fraction of what I’ve experienced from survivors.

  • To be honest, as a killer main, just increase my BP for suffering through SWF and that will be good enough for me. I understand there will be a massive drop in survivor numbers if they remove it, or nerf it, so just give killers a reason to play it.

  • If they nerf SWF they kill the game.

  • @Entità that wasn’t the point. A killer doesn’t “deserve” a 4k. They still need to find, down, and hook the last survivor, or wait out the timer. Closing the hatch doesn’t mean certain death for the last survivor, and powering the gates by closing hatch sounds lame as hell, so no thanks to either of those 👍

Ive escaped plenty of times as the last survivor and I’ve died. Doesn’t bother me if I die, I understand it’s RNG and plus the killer has already done their job.

  • The downside is I’m gonna tunnel them out of the game unless I’m running STBFL

  • The entitlement some survivors have is adorable sometimes. The problem with trying to design a “fair” EGC gate system is that “fair” is subjective. What’s “fair” to a survivor is not “fair” to the killer.

In a vast majority of these 1v1 situations, the killer has:

    1. Prevented all five gens from popping off
    2. Killed the other survivors
    3. Found hatch first and closed it

And after all of this, they’re expected to give the survivor a “fair” chance to escape. How is that fair to the killer exactly?

Imagine a MOBA game where all of your towers in a lane are destroyed and your base tower is gone, but the team still expects a “fair” chance to defend 😆

  • Nah. Surveillance on Doc/Nurse/Spirit/Billy would make this too strong, and I say that as someone who f'ing loves to three gen survivors with Surveillance on Doc or Fred.

  • @VexTheHex said:

You complain, but besides MOM... which is getting reworked... has there been any good Survivor perks released in quite some time? Ash's other two are trash, Jane's are trash, Jeff has alright perks but nothing strong, Adam's are highly situational, Kate's are trash, Tapp's are trash, Quentin's are under rated but not great, David's are all hard mode options basically, Feng has Lithe and Alert, Bill has BT, Ace's are trash, Laurie had DS... it's been gutted, Nea has UE, Jake has IW (Sabotage is dead), Claud has solid perks, Meg has meta perks, and Dwight has a few okay perks.

If you're talking about perks becoming part of the meta... whens the last time killers have had that? Maybe Spirit with Spirit Fury on some killers? The rest are situational, useless, or average, like most of those new survivor perks you listed.

Killers have gotten nothing as blatantly broken as MoM 🤣

"good" is subjective. I love two of Tapp's perks. I enjoy Jane's perk that lets her run off scratch mark free from completed gens. Kate has some fun ones. Quentin has an amazing med kit farming perk. David has WGLF and f'ing Dead Hard for crying out loud lol

  • I play both sides and the stuff about doors spawning close is exaggerated greatly. Survivors just want easy escapes.

If my team and I fail to do gens, and killer finds hatch, and the doors are too close together, then gg killer.

  • Baby potato survivors maybe.

There are two perks that make totems a breeze if someone is struggling. Let’s not change the entire game because some low skill players struggle. See: Freddy nerf.

  • Hex perks are already almost pointless to run. A totem counter would just make it worse.

  • Still runs like ######### on X depending on map and killer.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 16
