I did actually acknowledge dead harding for distance (to a pallet) as the best case scenario for the perk actually.....
I understand, but just mean general when the topic of DH counters come up. And the thing about pallets also depends on game time. In theory Clown should be a god tier killer because he forces down pallets, but its just that by the time he's eaten away at them, the game can be almost over already.
I still hate that perk, but at same time, looking at BHVR's antiloop killers streak.. I can't exactly blame anyone for running it.
-
There are like 5 killers out of 27 that can insta-down (Billy, Myers, Bubba, Ghostface and Oni).
My biggest thing about dead hard is how it neuters heavy m1 killers. Also, I feel like at this point "just bait out dead hard" is meme because I swear people play dumb like they've never heard of dead harding for distance.

A map isn't going to tell me where the killer is? Like... did you read the post?
I dont need a map to tell me where a gen is when there's literally white blinking lights in the sky that tell me where a gen is. On top of that, maps run out. Perks you can use the whole, or majority, of the game.
Then what you want is a Blood amber key.

I think there is a significant difference between capturing a survivor and camping them until death / getting your traps and setting them up with someone on the hook which is entirely fine (both these scenarios explicitly mean you found a survivor, chased & downed them) vs loading into the match with these specific addons and idling in front of the box doing absolutely nothing.
I agree that one has more steps than the other, but I think the intent is the same for both. And I think intent is probably going to be the biggest thing here. It's a pretty boring way do it, but it's a way of eliminating survivors. That's the player's plan, their strategy. I don't think it matters how skilled or fun we think it is. Again, even if it's stupid, the player is making an active decision to block a box in hopes of killing the survivors.

I'd be reporting for idling / afk, not for taking the game hostage so this is irrelevant
I mean, I guess nothing stops you from hitting the report button. But I think it just opens a can of worms on a face camping Bubba that refuses to engage with other survivors. Or trapper that traps the house and just sits at the top of the stairs waiting for the guy in the basement to die. Those aren't reportable and yet they just stand there. "idle"
Also, for what it's worth they did use word "strategy" to describe it.

And on the same side of the coin; Survivors need to stop saying 'Be happy with the 3K' and shaming Killers who try for the 4.
Funny how it's always 'Killers need to stop'.
My favorite is: you got points, so you had fun.
No, not really.

I'm just going to throw this here before people start reporting.

Here's the answer in case anyone was wondering.
Question was regarding Video Tape + Rule #2 and blocking a box indefinitely.
-
I don't think so. AFAIK, the skill checks are for that minor increased wiggle rate and points. Also, I think the classic wiggle is still an option and it would be pretty silly to make a perk that doesn't work if you choose that.

The addon is completely fine, but there needs to be a way to prevent her from blocking boxes, the same way killers were able to block the hook before. In this case is a bit more tricky because the survivor needs to be facing the box frontly, so I really don't know how they would be able to change this like they did with old facecamping.
They could always just do that and make them interactable at any angle but I don't think it would change much. I feel that very rarely are afk pigs actually afk and all that would change is that she'd whack you over the head and just leave you there to bleed.
So we just accept that's just what she can do, or the devs can just change how it works.
I wouldn't mind if they made traps less immediately lethal, but have a consistent effort to take off. Like they only go boom if you try to leave with one, but maybe require multiple boxes to take off (maybe they could have the same activation rules with gen pops) . However, you could also have the option to search the same box over and over but there would be a cooldown between them to entice searching for other boxes.
BUT! I don't know if this would feel good to play against.
-
Demo. if you're pretty practiced with shreds, you can build chaser and brutality pretty well with it. He's also pretty average yet versatile, so ideally, games don't go too fast (your experience my vary depending on maps, tiles and lobby perks).
-
One thing I will say, is that I find less and less people running DS.
-
I am afraid to lose
-
from when you press m2, she takes a loud breath, and there is a 1.25 second time before she is able to throw the hatchet. After the hatchet is thrown, there is a 2 second cooldown before she can throw another.
Her hatchet hitbox has a been a point of contention for a while, but when they did change the hatchet hit box, they could clip through limbs and even the head for a no-reg because the survivors hitbox is not accurate to the model. If you ever play a shorter female surivor and wonder why you get hit, just remember you're actually as big as Jeff. A giant pill with no arms, legs or head.
-
Real talk though. I don't think DH would be such a problem if maps weren't as bad they are. Map and tile layout have been ruining the game since day 1.

It would help weaker Killers who struggle with chases by not having an anti-loop ability, I agree, but this also treating every Killer as equal and there are some overly specific issues. If we applied that mechanic, Blight, Nurse and Spirit would have the trials handed to them by increasing those two minutes per generator, but I also know they are the strongest Killers in the same and they end matches within minutes/seconds if they are good enough.
The game is at an imbalance where you can do something passive without massively tilting the scale to one side or the other. I struggle myself finding what would help the whole picture...
I don't know. Sure it'll help m1 killers, but it will also help killers in general. Even ones that are currently strong but fair.
It just moves like c to b, b to a, a to s, and s to 'realistically should never lose'.
-
I've read weird things about it, from fixing audio missing or obfuscated through audio occlusion, to being a piece of the not-really-hacking spirit that can just hear footsteps, breathing, worked on gens from miles away.
I don't know if any of it is true.
-
Blatant Cheating. Though it doesn't happen that often, it just kills any motivation to play anymore. Especially when you're being held hostage and the only thing you can do is DC.

hmm, I don't really notice a difference in this video between base gens and technician
yeah, it's incredibly subtle at max range. You can hear it if you crank up your headphones (like a 1-3 seconds you can sort of hear it) but admittedly, It's drowned out by the over all noise of the pistons anyway.
It's not that good.

how about we make it so IW will doesn't just block out all sounds for some reason.

Healthy how? No dedicated pvp gamers are going to stick around with a tic tac toe style game where winning nor losing matters in the slightest degree.
For real. Its like like shoving all the garbage under your bed and going like "it's clean".
-
I'd rather just see mmr or something like overwatchs season rank.

21 seconds (like ~10 seconds if you bring a medkit) , available to everyone in the lobby, works on multiple levels and the killer has to go out of their way to break it.
Still-better-than-selfcare tier.
-
Obfuscating the game state is pretty big, but the idea is pretty creative. Especially if it's just passive and permanently active. Like how dumb would it be if there was perk made it so the survivor icons always show up as healthy, never made inquired noises for other survivors to hear, disabled the hook blob and aura until you were point blank next to the hook they happened to be on. It would be an absolute nightmare.

Yeah alright. That made me calm.
(he has a own pc with the hacked account. I was in his Steam long time ago on my device. since he is using that account on HIS device rn he will be hwid and not me
But honestly though, do not login in that account like ever on your pc again. Though it won't auto transfer just because someone used your pc once a long time ago. if he does get banned, and he uses your pc, it might trigger a 'ban evasion' charge.

If he will be hwid, HIS device will be banned because he was logged in that account, thats how it works?
Which ever one they are using. Like if they were using your pc, and it gets hwid banned, no body is playing anything. You'll have to get a new pc.
-
I wouldn't say flop, but lukewarm reception.
-
A HWID is going to ban that device regardless of what account you are on.
-
Not really. Most of the time, there are hooks every where, so it feels like a waste of perk slot unless you're specifically running the backpack build and that's more of a meme then a serious strategy.

its not a nerf, its a change
you can have games where all Survivors remove their trap on the first box, you can also have games where every survivor has to search the last box
Its inconsistent and its not fun having RNG determine whether or not you win the game
This system I'm proposing can still act as a threat, you don't know how many boxes you yourself have to search just like now. Its just now her slowdown can be played with it in mind and you can have a some what predictable outcome. You have a better idea of how much more time you're gonna gain from a more consistent system
Also I don't know how my system would break with these add on? Could you explain?
That addon combo makes searching boxes like 16~17 seconds each and the trap goes pop in 150 seconds. Then there's the x factor of killer pathing, distance between the boxes that also eat away. The rng problem just gets shifted more against the survivor where you died because you weren't psychic. 10 is a lot of boxes to sift through.
I kind of just want them to buff her stealth and dash a little bit so she has better scouting + chase.
-
Huntress, Deathslinger (mostly) ,Trickster.

One thing I wish you could have is the option to let yourself bleedout faster after some amount of time.

I feel like gauging it's usefulness is more then just comparing flat numbers.
COH is in that sweet spot of being faster than SelfCare, and being totem based but with none of the downsides that come with Inner Strength where you only get 5 heals that might be split between 4 people. It's available and highlighted to every survivor in the lobby. And if it gets destroyed, you can just put it up again.
It's the best of both worlds.
Sure, on paper not healing is the most efficient way to complete gens, but we're living in a era where the strongest killers are anti-loop.
-
weirdest part for me is when the remaining people get mad at the killer for just playing normally and not the person that actually threw and left.

Nope. Truly mastering nurse means predicting survivor movement. The muscle memory part is whatever- a monkey can learn muscle memory. What makes Nurse unique is that she is based on rapid fire prediction.
Predicting survivor movement is something every killer has to do. Otherwise, you become very predictable.
-
When you get to ignore near everything, the game tends to be a lot easier than if you're playing a killer that doesn't.
Nurse has a higher skill floor, but after a while ( 1000 hrs is a pretty wild number to throw out there considering how basic DBD as a game is), that's it. You dont deal with pallets or loops, you just go through them.
-
it just makes too much sense.
-
Though cool that they are trying new things, but is it really going to matter? If the current matchmaker works as it should but heavily skewed due to role saturation, how much is really going to change?

Well what do you prefer ruin to be gone in 12 second's or have a perk that can has the same regression as ruin but last forever
But you have to manually walk up to, and kick the generator, needs to be active for 40 seconds to get the same value as pop, but can be undone in .01 seconds if a survivor taps it.
It's definitely not terrible but I think it's only for killers with great mobility. Personally I put it next to surge/jolt.

Deathslinger + trickster. Speared, 99'd with blades, stabbed then downed.
