  • A total lack of decency and decorum. Intentionally trying to ruin the enjoyment of others for your own pleasure and entertainment.

No, trying to win by running from pallet to pallet is not toxic. Ignoring the objectives to chase the killer with your flashlight is toxic.

  • Tunneling off the hook as survivor

Flashlight blinds as killer. I'm colorblind and the sudden switch makes everything blend together and stay that way fo several seconds afterwards. I already struggle on many maps and have to hunt by movement since I don't see scratch marks.

  • Trapper gets punished for good trap use. I've had 4k matches with multiple hooks and only 1 gen done, but hardly any chases because I spent the whole time running from trap to trap recovering victims. Depip.

  • @Gorgonia most killers who hardcore tunnel and camp don't care about game goals, they are just being toxic. It is a real ######### play style that means nobody is going to pip in this current system.

That's the problem now. If you are a survivor and face a camping/tunneling killer, you can't just do gens and leave. If you do, you will likely depip. You need the interaction with the killer and altruistic deeds. The game is really messed up right now.

Killers depend on non-cry baby survivors who don't DC the first time they are downed, and survivors depend on a good killer who actu9plays the game and pressures the field. Completely insane.

  • As in, which would I rather use as a survivor, or which would I rather have in game as a killer? Definitely get rid of old DS. MoM is nowh8near as bad.

Only upside? Recovering to full isnt an upside? Reduced noises arent an upside? Oof.

Considering you are marked as broken and the killer knows you are running NM, no, getting up is not worth it. Every killer knows not to slug you in the first place.

As for bleeding, no, DW should not counter NM. It is one of the most hindering perks in the game. No way a broken killer's ability should counter it just so the player can exploit the moonwalking trick.

    Legion.......

  • @Bbbrian2013 No. To me it is not tunneling until they wait for you to get off the hook and do it again immediately, then again.

  • I've always thought @Detective_Jonathan was pretty level headed myself. Can't think of many times in which your arguments degraded to childish attacks, like many do in this forum.

The ranking system in general. Delete it, boom, and everybody gets matched with everybody else by geolocation.

All ranking system serves to do is give you longer queue times. Open the floodgates, let everyone play everyone else.

That happened recently when they screwed up match making. Everyone complained, including killers who did not like facing all rank 18-20 when they were rank 1. Horrible idea.

  • @not_Queen so, we're staying..."on the highway to he**!"

Sorry about that. It was too easy, and who does not love a little AC/DC levity now and then?

So you assume all play the same way? That's a sad outlook.

There was a wraith sloppy butcher exploit. Nobody outraged about that like this. I feel like everyone is still just upset it's not "the legion they wanted", talked so much about them being trash that they got buffed/useable, and now nobody wants to deal with it

Not the mention that "tunneling" is every killers job. Easiest prey dies first.

Moonwalking exploit isnt a Legion issue, it's a chase/trigger issue.

The 5 min mend is an exploit.

Neither are originally intended for legions use.

I'd say the worst mechanic in game right now is the DC bug, or the lobbies not working, or the map issues that arent fixed, or the pip system, or the moonwalking exploit (which also applies to pig), or the insta med kits, or.....plenty of other mechanics with issues right now.

I assume until I see different. One is a fool to ignore their experience. Overwhelmingly the Legions I faced were tunnelers, campers, or exploited moonwalking. Why would I not plan for that and assume that when I face Legion? The mistake would be in not recognizing the outlier when I see them. Legion is still the most boring killer though. Holding more M1 is lots of fun.

This is not much of a problem since I mostly play killer, but a broken power is a broken power.

@Shad03 I don't care what you assume about SWFs. I play killer mostly and most of my friends quit this game a while ago, so any survivor I play is solo. As I said above, you learn from your experiences. Mine tell me the majority of Legion mains deserve heat due to the way they play a broken killer.

  • If killer closes hatch, it respawns in 30 seconds. Closing takes 6 seconds, giving survivor time to run. Can't close if survivor is in dying state. When hatch spawns a 3rd time, the survivor can see its aura for 3 seconds.

Personally, I have zero problems with the current mechanic. I either get them before the hatch, or they get the hatch. I never have a stand off. Life is too short for me to flex my ego in a meaningless video game.

  • Until Legion is reworked, I'll continue to die on first hook and avoid ever running him. Have a daily right now for Legion, but won't run it. Will wait until I can reset it.

Legion is arguably the worst game mechanic in the game right now. I detest the character and tend to look down on those who main him as being cheap, shortcut players. Too many bugs and exploits and 90% just tunnel down a player like they are getting paid. Sorry, no respect for that.

  • I ran solidarity for roughly a dozen matches when it first came out. Loaded we'll make it and Botany Knowledge as well. Got use out of Solidarity maybe twice. It was not a problem finding wounded people to heal, the problem was finding wounded people when I was wounded and neither of us are currently being tunneled to death.

Useless perk in the long run. Sounds great, but can rarely use it. Maybe I don't play enough survivor, but I rarely see it used when playing killer either. Would love to see stats on its use.

To think, many of the crying circle lost their minds about how powerful it would be. Turns out it sucks. LOL

  • I've been playing online games since 1999 with Everquest, The Realm, etc. Behavior is much worse than those days. Mostly adults playing back then. So many kids, or kids who grew up with the anonymity of a monitor and no concern due to no authority holding them responsible for their actions. Thus you get toxic players who don't understand a single ounce of decorum, sportsmanship, or even humanity for that matter.

  • Just checking in to see if it died yet. Still kicking? Pretty good job so far!

  • I love how he calls them non-OP, but basically creates two of the most OP perks in DbD history. Takes away the only real defense the survivors have.

Should they start off on hooks as well? Can we get that as a perk? lol

  • I never have hatch stand offs. I don't mind letting them get out if they get there before I can down them. DOn't need help on that end.

  • TydeTyme may be the second worst content creator to listen to. He always jumps to conclusions, is major killer-sided, and tends to cry over little things. Frankly, I find his material over-analyzed and usually incorrectly.

  • @Speshul_Kitten said:

Who knows how many games monto played though to show those games in which he got a purple key

He got 4 keys in one match while playing with No0b3 and Puppers. They were playing a drinking game and each rare key was a shot. Funny stuff.

  • No. It is fine. Honestly, I've seen the perk used very effectively, but many don't. Watch good survivor streamers and see how they use it.

  • I get past 10 with Trapper and I'm so color blind I can't see scratch marks and several maps are basically a blended mess so I can't see generator auras. Yet I can take one of the crappiest killers deep into purple ranks regularly with this current system.

  • Every now and then I like to load up survivor and run Plunderer's and Ace in the Hole, name myself ToysForTots and hand out gifts from chests. Would hate to see Plunderer's nerfed. Just a fun perk.

  • The problem with ranking to reds as survivor is the new system requires a good killer for survivors to rank. They need to be chases, make rescues, heal others, do gens and totems. If you have a tunneling killer or a hard camper, you can't get half of what you need. So you can be great at looping or juking, but not get the chance unless you are willing to throw the match and wait your turn with the killer.

    Thus, less opportunity to rank.

  • You get better at it. 99% of SWF is not super hit squads. They are not impossible to beat. I main Trapper as a color blind killer who can't see scratches or blood on most maps, but I regularly get 3-4k on SWFs. I hang mostly in the purple and green ranks. (Try the red ranks while only being able to hunt by movement or silhouette. )

  • Wow. You need to stop playing for a bit and come back later. You are way too into this.

Yep I just clip this, he DC intentionally due to 30 minute queue at Rank 1. Everything he said is true, its too easy to rank up as Killer (If you're a good Killer like Tru)

Has nothing to do with good. I'm average to above average at killer due to huge color blind hindrance and I rank up easily, even with that horrible MoM perk......seriously, too easy if I'm doing it.

  • @NuclearBurrito You hit the bail on the head. It is not powerful on it's own, but its effects compound when teamed with other perks.

  • Who cares what that hypocrite says? The guy decries tunnelers when he plays survivor, then tunnels as a killer. He decries anything that hinders a killer and relates it all to DS. Sorry, but MoM is no DS. It is less than DH. As for deranking, glad he has long wait times. Crap killers are making it harder for survivors to rank. If a killer is camping or tunneling, all the survivors will either zero pip or depip. He is part of that problem.

  • They should do nothing. That or they could tie it to exhaustion so it and DH can't be used back to back.

Frankly, I think it is a lot of crying over nothing. I still find DH to be a much stronger perk as it is useable multiple times, avoids all damage, and has no drawbacks unlike MoM where it only avoids 1 M1 attack after getting hit 3 times, and requires you be injured to work.

A lot of tears over nothing.

And yes, I've faced several SEF squads running it, DH, DS, and adrenaline. 3-4k each time as Trapper, Shape and Hag.

  • Honestly, I am not seeing MoM as much already. It is a one time use perk and may not even come into play. It is not like Dead Hard that allows the survivor to avoid multiple hits from the start. Technically, DH is a much stronger perk than MoM. If you are crying for MoM to be nerfed, you are fooling yourself. DH is your bigger enemy.

DH - Avoids all damage when activated and causes exhaustion for 60 seconds. All damage! Hatchets, Chainsaws, Shape's EW3, Vile Purge, Corrupt Purge, Bear Traps, and even NOED. It is used several time throughout the match. I've seen it used to dodge up to 6 instances of damage in a match. Requires little skill to use. Timing is easily picked up, even my legally blind wife uses it effectively.

MoM - One time use. Survivors can't choose when it is used, it is entirely dependent on when the killer hits them to activate. As far as I can tell, it only works once per match. Would require you being hit 8 times for the second use to pop up (if it does). Only avoids M1 hits, and only if you are in injured state. If you heal while it is active, you are revealed to the killer.

Nowhere near as good as DH.

  • Too much crying about minor thing lately. Gets tiring. How are the developers supposed to sort through the river of useless tears to find actual feedback? Just stop. 3k or 4k does not matter. I'm good if I get either. No sweat off my back.

  • Paragraph form will help. I think I get the gist though. Ranking up is pointless. Congrats! You ha e come to the realization that most players, killer and survivor, already knew!

The higher you rank, the more sweaty the players are. I prefer to play for fun.

  • Had this happen as both survivor and killer recently. Barely took 2 steps to the chest and Huntress was already there. As Trapper I actually saw someone moving within a second of gaining control. Gave them a love tap with my blade and they ran on.

  • @BigBlackMori We have very differing experiences. What I've seen most of is people just do gens and leave. Unfortunately, the new ranking system promotes rushing back after the hook, feeding campers because if you don't get chase/altruism you don't pip. Pretty sad.

  • Not sure how it promotes tunneling. You don't know if they have it until the 4th hit. By that point, you are either tunneling or you are not. That makes this a seriously fallacy in logic. MoM reactions are bordering on insanity at this time. MoM is nowhere near the pain of 4 DS groups where you are stunned every few seconds trying to get a hook. Nope, no comparison.

  • @Peanits If your playing for kills, camping is the dumbest thing you can do. You get one or two kills vs halfway decent survivors. Pressuring the map and keeping fresh hooks going keeps them off gens and gets more kills.

Whether you want to admit it or not, people that camp from the first hook on are typically just trying to be toxic. They want to ruin other people's gameplay. They don't care about kills, blood points, pips, etc. They just want to be toxic. Easily 99% of non-new killers I've faced who camp from the start are just trying to get you going. The end game chat proves it too. They are begging for "salt". Don't give it to them and they will get pretty nasty, or just leave in disappointment.

Camping certain hooks is situationally useful. Swarming, open gates, etc is when it makes sense.

  • @IFeelFantastic I agree. It is not for everyone, but I see my role as killer as the "entertainment". I make the player shout, scream, squeal or otherwise get lost in the game. It is why we play, to get away from the norm and have fun. I don't expect every killer to agree, nor play that way.

You may have put into words the reason so many get frustrated with camp/tunnel to death. It takes away that experience and turns it into a toxic experience. When I play survivor, I am not looking to survive. I'm looking for a "oh Chit" moment where the killer surprised me or made a move I did not anticipate and hit me. When I die, I do so laughing with friends at how silly I sounded, or at the situation. It was fun.

I sometimes lose that mentality after several toxic matches as either survivor or killer. Thanks for the post/reminder.

  • It is a weak tactic for bad killers. It is easily defeated by smart survivors. Do gens and totems and leave. Unfortunately the new emblem system punishes you for not being stupid and rushing in for the save, therefore rewarding the killer. If this pip system sticks, they need to penalize players who do this as it is punishing smart survivors.

  • @tt_ivi_99

@Peanits (just so you see I don't always just complain haha)

I get it, but I just don't see this as such a big deal. I really hate the term gen rush bec8I did play enough survivor to know that there is no option other than to do gens. Nobody is exploiting or rushing the gens. The Halloween event showed that BP rewards slows gens down a lot. It was a 4k bloodbath.

Now the screaming is over MoM, which is not even that powerful. Even a 4 man MoM group is nothing compared to a 4 man sabo group. Should we nerf toolboxes, and eliminate sabotage while we are at it?

The answer is not in nerfing these perks. The answer is in very minor tweaks to M1 killers. That will go a long way. Extra traps on Trapper as a base package with the ability to recover open traps from the field via lockers. Exhaustion built into Clown's bottles. Little tweaks like that to bridge some gaps.

Nerfing just ruins the game that much more. It is not the only path to balance. Sometimes minor tweaks/buffs are just as good.

    @Dragon_of_Fantasy

Well... The playerbase has declined and hasnt come up since the last update, when a DLC cant bring players back you know there is something wrong...

That is more due to survivors quitting the game. Evry survivor friend I had quit. It's why I moved to killer.

  • This is needed. I ran enduring on trapper last night and downed one of 2 identical Jeff's. It was the one with DS active. He hit me with it and tried to go across the fallen pallet next to us. I grabbed him before he go over it. (I then dropped him because I did not intend to tunnel and he just got double screwed.)

This is not that big a deal.

  • I run into this a lot lately. I strugg8to pip if I get more than 2 trap hooks. I play Trapper due to the challenge and strategic playstyle with trap placement. Now I get punished for doing it well.

7 Matches last night. 3 were 4k's, one 2k, one 3k and only 3 pips because I got 4 or more trap hooks in each. One match was so busy that I could not collect them fast enough.

I don't camp or tunnel, so there was no penalty for chaser. Just so few chases.

  • MoM is nothing compared to pre-2.6 DS.

  • @Peanits Well, bring back the positive feedback too, which I know you will. This uproar over MoM is fake news. I've faced the 4-man MoM, DH, Adrenaline squad as well with Trapper and still 3k'ed. Challenging, but not OP. This community knee-jerks to many things, and I fear it has significant impact to the negative.

Yes, I've been vocal about some things myself, match making being most recent. But those were game-breaking issues (constant high ping, horrible differences in rank) and they were properly addressed by the devs.

I guess I just don't want to see this trend of knee-jerk crying over a perk become an issue. Survivors did it over Plague's perks (which turn out to be mediocre), and now killers are doing it over Ash's perks (which are good, but not OP by any stretch).

  • @plu I faced a 4-man MoM group last night. All had DH, and Adrenaline as well. Two had DS. Was frustrating, but still got the 3k and pip. I'm quite positive 2 of them did not pip.

It is not easy, but challenge and OP are two different things.

    I was running Trapper.

  • MoM is not broken. DS needs the buff. If running enduring, DS is all but completely neutralized. MoM is not that bad if you plan for it. It is also not as bad as old DS was. Yes, if the whole group is coordinated and running MoM, it is very frustrating. Guess what, it is just as bad if they all run current Ds (no enduring), Dead Hard, Adrenaline and self care/empathy.

The problem is coordinated SWFs and how they can maximize the use of every perk to put certain killers at a huge disadvantage. I'm a Trapper main, so believe me when I say I've felt that frustration several times. I typically just move on because this game was broken in its design to begin with. Unfortunately, it can be very fun and therefore we torture ourselves.

Survivors have been getting whooped with the nerf stick for some time. MoM is a cookie given to them as reward. Not that big a deal.

  • Trapper main, and I have only noticed a couple of MoM issues. Second chance perks for both sides are always annoying, but that should not warrant full reworks. Adrenaline, MoM, DH, DS, Deliverance, NOED, Blood Warden, Remember Me etc, all give second chances to do/avoid what you failed to do last time. It is what it is.

Hate MoM combined with other perks? So do survivors when they finish gens after evading the killer only to find Remember Me, NOED and Blood Warden await.

It is what it is. The current survivor second chances affect M1 killers more than anything, so it is not even an across the board issue.

  • @Blueberry Actually, it has everything to do with it. You don't balance casual games from top down, that is how you kill the casual player base, thus the consistent drop in player numbers for DbD. If this was a competitive game with tournaments, etc, then absolutely, you balance from the top down.

If they keep balancing from the top down in DbD, they will strangle the population more and more because most just want to chill and have fun. Hard to do when you get railroaded constantly.

  • How about not letting lit totems spawn within x meters of a gen. Requiring they spawn within 1 meter of other objects, thus making them more likely to be tucked away. Increase the chance for them to spawn in corners, behind barrels, etc.

Totem placement is a joke most of the time. Heck, I'd be ok with the idea of not letting hex totems light up for 60 seconds after the game begins.

EDIT: And can killers please be able to know which totem is which? If I want to prioritize defending Lullaby over Ruin, that should be my choice.
