you can hear on the video that it was chained blind. If they had addons to increase blindness duration, it's normal.
But later you can see it's a hacked flashlight.
So not a bug to be chain blinded, but they were hacking

I didn't even know it did that haha, I just used it with Sprint Burst and Self Aware
It's scary when people know it works on most of the negative effects. People only read exhaustion and that's it

When I'm playing survivor, My absolute weak spot is when killer brings Huntress Lullaby. More than 2 stacks and I'm absolutely unable to hit skill checks. One of the reason I use first minute of the game to get all of the totems and hexes, I'm not risking.
As a killer, Vigil. It doesn't seem as bad, until you have calculated that the timed exposed status should last X seconds, but it ends early, and when you think you hit them right in time, Vigil says NOPE. Exhaustion/Hemorrhage/Oblivious/Blindness addons? They be gone in no time.

i remember once dying first and then spectating the most hilarious immerse wars ever.
Rest of the survivors were hiding like in proximity of each other, one in bushes, one in locker, one behind rocks, not more than 5-6m from each other. They were just walking in circles, entering/leaving lockers to not get crows.
I was so curious to see who would die first, but it took the killer over 20 min to find one of them. Once the 2nd one died, the last 2 continued to be immersed for another eternity, but the locker dude forgot to do his anti-crow activity and got crows and got found. After closing hatch, last dude tried to bribe the killer, after they looked for them for like an hour total xDD I would be pissed if the killer let him go

I'm a killer main, but I play survivor too, and when I do, I play only solo Q. And I still don't bring self care. And I'm still healed up a lot of the times. Medkit, rng from chests, Inner Strength, 9/10 games someone brought a boon. I don't depend on my teammates to heal me. And if by some miracle i'll run out of healing ways (which is basically never), i'm able to stay injured for the rest of the match. Not like matches are that long anyway
Survivors do not bring CoH 9 out of 10 games, I see it about 1 out of every 3 to 4 games. Also, Inner Strength is worse than Self Care for speed of healing, perk slot efficiency and reliability. I understand, it's hard to understand one side when you play mostly the other side, but what you are saying isn't the normal solo queue experience.
cleansing a totem is 12s, inner heals you in 8, Self care needs 32s to heal you, and new self care needs even more. Getting rid of totems will be valuable for your entire team if you know all of their spawns, so no inner isn't worse than self care in any way.

Do you mean the youtube videos that show survivors running in a straight line and actively not trying to evade the killer?
They're more like supposed to show the difference in distance you're able to do now, than actively trying to lose killer, cuz if you wanted to lose killer easily, there's a ton of other perks for that.

When you have teammates run off and leave you injured after a unhook, or go to a gen while hurt and work the gen then watch your teammate run off without healing you, then your realize how important Self-Care is for solo queue. I don't know what it is about solo-queue but teammates just refuse to heal you.
After playing a match or two where you go through the entire match injured because your teammates won't heal you and the medkit you had is out. You realize how important Self-Care is to solo queue.

Although I'm a soloQ survivor main, I think the DH nerf was needed. Another problem for killers that DEVs need to solve somehow is coordinated SWF. I hope DEVs will implement the announced HUD improvements and rebalance SWF vs SoloQ vs Killers. Other than that I think killers were actually in a good spot and stats prove it, I don't feel any other general buffs were needed.
This update will mostly hit soloQ, it wasn't necessary to nerf self-care, IW nerf is too much, they have to remove the exhaustion part from it, longer gen times will surely make soloQ experience even more miserable, while tunneling and camping are still not solved and camping will be an even more effective strategy now.
I don't use DS, so I can't tell if any changes were needed.
Other changes in this update seem to be ok for me.
you can see the DS change on youtube, even if you don't play it, to make an opinion. It doesn't sound bad, but once you see that it give you NO time to make distance and most of the killers will catch up to you immediately, makes the change really questionable

I agree with you about that, especially on the survivor-side. The perk nerfs and buffs were not approached well at all.
The Self-Care nerf adversely effects solo-queue almost exclusively.
There's a lot of useless buffs that don't improve perks like Calm Spirit, Saboteur, Pharmacy, Sole Survivor, Dark Sense, Overzealous, Hope and No One Left Behind. (Remember that the purpose of this patch was to nerf meta perks and add new meta perks. It fails to do that on all of these buffs).
6 meta survivor perks were nerfed with only 1 survivor perk buffed to meta levels. A lot of those perks were solely used for specific purposes which no other perk does. Take Iron Will, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard and Self Care. No other perk does what those perks do.
With the killer updates, the developers seemed to do exactly what they said they were going to do. They nerfed some meta slowdown perks, however, they buffed other meta slowdown perks.
The same didn't happen for survivors in this patch. A lot of specific use meta perks got nerfed with no perks bumped up to fill those spots.
When talking about Self Care, ngl it makes me laugh every time.
I WANT this perk dead, i want people to stop using it, and start being productive. Unless they'll find a completely different rework idea.
Me and my friends talked about it and what if it healed you passively (building up your healing bar for like 30% of normal heal speed), like you can do stuff when it's healing you SUPER slow, It would still fit the self-care idea and still would heal

Do you mean it's too many nerfs towards survivors.
Or
Do you mean it gives to many buffs towards survivors.
i don't mean any of those. I mean that some of them were approached wrong.

besides the DS and bloodlust changes, this update really isn't that bad for survivors. not *nearly* as bad as people are making it out to be.
i find the dead hard outcry especially funny because sprint burst and overcome still exist. they are just as strong (arguably stronger) as current DH. neither of those perks were touched during the update and survivors can just move on to using them.
Yeah, i want people to move on to different exhaustions too, it would be amazing if after the changes we would see more variety of them, instead people stubbornly trying to make DH still fix their mistakes

I implemented Fire Up as a permanent addition to my build. With how gens are flying anyway, you get use of it every game.
But oh boy this perk makes Clickers question their sanity, cuz of changed blind timing.
You could play Lightborn or Franklin, but those perks will force them to do gens, and you don't want to do that, with Fire up they will not give up on swarming you with blinds, cuz people forgot about existence of this perk

God you must be a hella "fun" teammate to have around, omg. I'd dodge a lobby with you if I knew you were there.
Most of those challenges aren't even a tiniest problem, they can be done as a part of normal gameplay. You don't need to rush challenges that are not specified to be done in one trial, so cleansing totems or opening chests shouldn't even be there, just have them active in background and play games normally, they'll complete themselves eventually.
If you want to address "unnecessary" challenges, you should look at glyphs. Especially that people actually throw games for them. Yeah, they're fun side objective, but in some of them people will die to just do them.

The most likely cause is threefold:
- The Anniversary Event just ended and a lot of Killers are taking a break after burning out earning as much as they could while the getting was good, i.e. increased BP for matches and Flan.
- A Rift also just recently ended and likely some people were hardcore pushing to end it before the deadline and were a bit burned out.
- A large number of people are in the PTB enjoying the crazy stacked junk for Survivors and having a blast. A PTB with as many changes as this one will keep more people diverted from the normal game and for a longer period of time. Since this is a 4v1 game, anything that screws with the available ratios for Survivors more than Killer will more deeply affect the Killer wait time than the other way around.
4.All of the above + rank reset incoming soon, Since playing killer isn't exactly fun, people are just taking a break until the reset. A lot of people want to goof around once they grind up the rank and can't lose it anymore, but their meme games are meet with toxicity even if they don't play seriously
-
Doctor - Midwich, Gideon, Dead Dawg Saloon. People get super cocky on those maps, and keep forgetting they face the ultimate denial button.
Bubba - Any indoor map. Survivor's lack of skill about how to loop Bubba, with the amount of obstacles I KNOW how to dance around. Most satisfying games
Huntress - All Azarov maps (okay, maybe except Azarov's resting place, because of it's dumb(ell) shape) and I don't really mind Haddonfield on her.
Pinhead - Indoor maps again, survivors tend to panic a lot if they don't have much line of sight.
Hillbilly - All Billy enjoyers always look weird at me for that, but my all time favorite map for him is Lery's...
Freddy - Coal Tower, Dead Dawg Saloon, Midwich...
Wraith - Yamaoka is my jam on him, I could play on it 24/7 as Wraith
-
Blast Mine blinds EVERYONE, it's a feature, don't look at the explosion

I've been a Freddy main for THOUSANDS of hours, on multiple platforms. I've been with him on all of his stages.
I think I have full right to say he's utterly pathetic now. He IS bad and one opinion won't change him.
Yeah his current state is still better than Freddy 1.0, but at least 1.0 Freddy had that something to him. He was bad, but fun to play.
Today's Freddy isn't worth anyone's time. Even tho I chose a new main, he's still my guilty pleasure killer, but with how everything advanced + his last nerfs, he's not viable anymore.
I hope he'll become playable again, I love him, but at least I'm not blinded by it and I can admit he sucks now

i played for 3,5k hours on Xbox killer only, not a single survivor match. And then i switched to pc to slap another 2.2k hours, but this time i have few survivor games in it. Let's say i'll play 1-2 survivor games for each 20 killer ones. I usually just do adepts/other achievements and move on

Deep Wound used to be reworked MULTIPLE times since Legion came out. You don't want it to go to it's old days, trust me
-
- Nurse is absolutely fine in being so strong. She's high skill, high reward killer. Her design is well made and should stay this way, but...
- Her being the m1 killer is what makes her widely hated and hard to balance. There's a simple solution, just make her blink attacks special attacks. People have no idea how much it would change. Other m1 killers can suffer from balancing perks that are good on her, but mediocre on them.
- You can play whatever you want. Some people choose their killers based on skill set or overall appearance, others choose their killer on how viable and competitive they are. No matter what someone says about who you play, it's all your choice
-
Full time killer main here for 3.5k hours on xbox, changed to pc to play another 2.2k hours in about 40/60 ratio. So here are my thoughts:
Matchmaking doesn't exist, we all know that. Especially the "separate mmr on different killers". If MMR exists, why I'm getting lobbies full of people under 100h that don't know how to hit a skill check. And my absolute newbie of a brother faces 14+k hour sweatiest swf? Do you use games like that to "balance" the ratio of kills and escapes? Jokes on you, I'll never take advantage of the weaker survivors. Easy 4k isn't a win. I'd rather end the game on no kills than get them handed to me.
Lack of balance between killers and their powers. Ofc there's always gonna be a killer more viable than another, but absolutely ignoring weaker killer's viability, makes attracting new players kinda hard. There's absolutely NO reward for mastering the killer you actually enjoy. Good example is probably Myers, the one killer that interested MANY people into joining the game. But after few games as him, you'll be absolutely stomped every game. Don't get me wrong, all killers can be played at high levels of play, but even those people who main trash tier killers know, that it shouldn't be like that. Every killer should be able to progress at similar pace. And because a lot of people care more about being competitive than having fun, it's the reason why we rarely see anything besides Nurses and Blights. Don't take it as insult, if you main them, I'm fully aware of the absolute learning hell they are, but would you really still play them if they were in the trash tier?
Maps are the bane of many games, there's always maps that some people like and some people dislike, depending on how annoying it is to play on them. I don't like to hate on any of the dbd maps, some of them are super nice to play on, some are an absolute hell. But for me it's just a matter of learning how to play on each. Loops on some maps tho, are a different topic. Every loop tiles should be thoroughly tested before seeing the light of the day, to see if they can be abused into infinity.
Survivor toxicity isn't as big of a problem as people make it to be, like i don't care, you waste your own time. It's the tools that give them enough safety to act this way. the "you can't do anything to me, so I'll use this time to absolutely bm the hell out of you". It got widely accepted that survivor is the power role in this game, there's more people playing survivor, because it requires barely any effort compared to killer. And survivors know that, that's why they won't touch the killer role. It's easier to bully someone with no punishment than fight bullies. I play survivor too, and i find it really sad that this game started as deadly hide and seek funtime, and ended up as "which side will dc first" competition. Take away survivor's safety tools (especially with the incoming endurance 5-6 hit meta) and you'll see that toxicity was caused by the absolute safety they feel. Killers should be feared.
Kills/Escapes as the indicator of skill is a hell of a mistake to do. I think we all hate either hiding survivors waiting for everyone else to die, or super tryharding killers, that speedrun their kills. What if we reworked that into an actual check of skill. Ranks don't matter now, so what if you made like a new, and actual ranking system based on points (like in many competetive games). Game is already aware of any of the player's actions counting towards certain emblems, but what if we removed the emblem cap, and we would get a more accurate showdown of what we did throughout the game. Like good job at doing X, but you did it in not optimal way, so you'll get points deducted. And in the end we could build like stats that people would be able to check in lobbies to see like "this person is very altruistic, but doesn't care about objective", "this person does avg 3 gens per match, but dies quickly", etc etc. Also being able to check killer's profile in lobby should be possible too. It can be made without telling survivors what killer it is. Ranking seasons could last longer than a month, and rank would actually matter, cuz of the points system. And Kills/Escapes wouldn't need to be the main indicators of skill.
-
- They hate the map they landed on
- They don't like the killer they face (most of the cases)
- They got downed first, the AUDACITY of the killer to find them first
Basically anything that doesn't go their way is a dc
-
I was with Freddy for thousands of hours, on multiple platforms. I was with him on all his ups and downs.
But all the new maps and map reworks + his last nerfs really killed his gameplay for me. He was in need of balance, but not this way...
I do still play him, but I don't main him anymore, I switched to Bubba and Doctor
-
Clown or Plague.
They both could use a Doctor

That's either troll or extreme entitlement post :v

It's been all screenshotted within 2 hours of playing.
I'm 2.2k hours myself, and I was playing on one of my main killers. I usually get absolute sweat lords, which I don't mind, I like challenge, but holy hell, I didn't get a single normal game today. Those people from screenshots sadly had to play games with me, but I did let them all go (Which I got a ton of toxic messages for, like??? I'm here getting nothing out of the game, so you guys won't get absolutely clapped).
After 2h of getting games like those, i just started dodging lobbies. And it didn't help at all, I'm still getting people under 100h.
It's not fun!
I thought maybe changing to my highest mmr main will help. NOPE, I get absolute potatoes. Like help, I want to loop with someone, I don't want to teach new players how soulcrushing some killers are.

If you have a problem with applying enough pressure on gens, and you want to block multiple gens at once, Grim Embrace is an amazing help. Saved my life multiple times on weaker killers

Literally my last game was vs Kate and Jake with Boil Over 9000. The one that won't let you move at all and they wiggle quite fast.
They were dumb af, so it was quite easy to outplay them. They dared to scream at me later for tunneling them out.
Like 2 days ago, I was playing with my friend some survivor suffering. And we got cheaters almost every game. But almost all of them were the subtle cheaters.
Game 1: I'm on hook, My friend on gen, One Nea being chased by killer, 2nd Nea was self-caring 10m away from me (i did say some "nice" words to my friend about it). She healed quite fast and unhooked me. 1st red flag, cuz she was holding a flashlight, so it was definitely a self care and it was way too fast. But i play sometimes a full healing build, so whatever i guess. Game continues and 1st Nea got downed, 2nd Nea went to flashlight save her. And that looked... odd. Flashlight beam was "normal" but something felt off, my friend noticed that too. Gates opened, i left and started spectating just to see that Nea having no perks, and flashlight with impossible addons.
Game 2: few games after the Nea one, We got us a Kate and a Nea both with flashlights in our lobby. So me and my friend took flashlights too, to force killer to take lightborn or something (we both hate people with flashlight instead of brain). And behold, our lovely Pyramid Head had Franklin's. They didn't get to use those flashlights once, but hell, they both dc'd when they lost them. We got a chance to pick those flashlights up, and ofc those were the hacked flashlights. PH understood quite fast what was going on, and we let him kill us.
Game 3: me and my 2 friends on coldwind vs a Hillbilly. Our game goes quite normally, i love Billys, so it was fun.... until we finished last gen. Billy didn't like the thought of losing. He started teleporting, flying, downing people and instantly hooking them. AND in the end game chat he had the AUDACITY to call himself a Space Billy.
Those are few of many, most of them were recorded by my friend, but yeah, there may be less cheaters than before, but they're still there, sadly
-
I play both sides too, but switching sides after playing one for too long can get frustrating.
Whenever I play on Killer, I get frustrated a lot, but also i get to really test my skill. I might kill some folks, I might not, but in the end I'll be satisfied.
But then I switch to survivor, all that effort I had to put into matches go away. I get bored on survivor, because of how stupidly easy that role is. The only moment when I get excited is when there's a Nurse/Blight, so I can put some effort finally.
And opposite way, when playing too long of the survivor side, and then switching to killer, i'm in that lazy mode thinking my matches will be easy, but i forget that i queued up as killer now and i have to turn on the brain.
I play survivor to relax and killer to tryhard a bit.
But yeah, it does get boring when you're someone playing both sides

"Lament Guardian" - 2.5k in Brutality category

i reported this a long time ago too as a bug, but i found the solution.
Since this achievement is poorly worded you might think it's bugged.
You have to SPECIFICALLY pick them up. You can't down them in trap, you gotta straight up pick them up.
It should count as it says, for catching people in traps, not picking them up from them
