They make you feel bad for using good perks in a desperate attempt to make their future games easier. Survivors do it too sometimes, but usually more often with the killer they're using than the perks.

Of course people can 4k with weak killers, even at high ranks. I just said that it is not really realistic to do well with a weak killer against these stacked up meta perks, or even with a strong killer it is still hard as long as your survivors are not just complete babys. I think you are missing the point.
I think you are entitled to the 4k.

You missed the point, I didn't say that I just lost because of these perks. I did mistakes yes I even said that before. What I just want to say is that it isnt really balanced if just 4 friends can put these perks on and play in a swf. And than the killer has to play the strongest killer in the game with strong add-ons, gen regression perks, and do almost no mistakes. That isn't really balanced.
I also don't say to change these perks, they are strong but if a survivor uses them its fine. Its just extremely hard to beat them when all survivors are just stacking them up. And you cant really do any changes to that. The only thing I did was asking for opinions what other people think of it.
I don't even complain that I lost. "Check your ego" "it's your entitled attitude". You cant even understand my point in my post, thats something you learn in 4th grade. Just don't even put trashtalk like this in the forums.
You don't have to do ALL of that to not lose. To win yes, but if you want to get the intended trial outcome of 2 kills all you had to do was play as good as you claim you are or just bring 1 or 2 more useful perks. Like I said, if you wanted to prove that there's a balance problem through your salty little post and video, you failed.

Bandaid perks don't fix weak killers and strong maps.

I don't have much to deny you are right, these things that I did were mistakes. And gen regression would've helped me in that game, I just use two flex perks because I don't need more than 2 perks in 99% of my games.
What I am just trying to say is, survivors just have to take meta perks, like all of them, and just be average players and play as a swf.
And now if we say the killer wants to win this than he has to play the strongest killer in the game, with strong add-ons, 4 perks with gen regression. And make almost no mistakes. Than that's not really balanced.
That's not true. The mistakes you made were major, I doubt you played much more skillfully than the survivors. Don't be surprised when you lose when you handicap yourself 2 perks and then don't manage to completely outskill the survivors. Check your ego, the perks aren't the problem here, it's your entitled attitude.
-
To your new title: No duh it's hard, that's why they're meta. Just like meta killers are hard to beat.
-
I like it if you don't have any other tracking perks. Finding hiding survivors is super useful, especially in end game.
-
I would prefer they let you select which tier you want to use with it.

Yeah, but it requires survivors dying so its really more of a last man standing perk. I can see your concern though.
3% haste per hooked or dying means you're untouchable as soon as you reach two stacks. Having one survivor hooked one survivor dead during a large part of the trial is fairly common, so this is why you probably shouldn't move at untouchable speeds with the perk. What's more, haste shouldn't be permanent because that causes all types of infinites unintentionally.

Then what exactly is your point?
My point is that the devs can't actually try to acheive balance, just follow the community's desires until balance naturally occurs. It's not like nerfing Billy was a good step toward balance, the devs just did it by popular demand since they were touching his add ons anyway. The devs are smart to do this, otherwise factions would have ripped apart the community long ago. These appeals to the masses give everyone something they can all appreciate, even if they're wrong to make the change.

This is so confusing. So your argument is, people want easy games thats why they want a perfectly balanced game? And the other argument is "Without them the game wouldn't work, so make them super strong?" As a 50/50 player, I'm very confused by this.
People make calls for "balance" with intentions other than making the game balanced. As someone who used to not know this, I understand and empathize with your confusion.
-
Sam and Dean would be cool, but the perks have problems.
Death Premonition is a worse empathy, how about the perk lights up when you are looking in the direction of the killer while they are chasing someone? Making it helpful in preventing death without giving you a clear picture of the killer.
Grace Period: How about your aura can't be shown to the killer for 100/110/120 seconds after you perform a safe unhook, killer grasp save, or protection hit. During this time you gain 5% altruism speed which can stack up to a max of 20% from this perk. This gives a condition and more useful effect.
Rocksalt: Stunning the killer gives you and survivors within 12/14/16m of you 5% haste for 6 seconds. (References how salted bullets temporarily caused ghosts to disappear)
I hope my suggestions inspire you to work further on this chapter.

Wouldn't it be a better idea to nerf SWF if buffing killers also means buffing Solo Q? And what about a 2 man SWF compared to a 4 man SWF? And considering this is a competitive game, I'd say an imbalance of any kind is a problem. If nobody cared about balance why does this post exist?
People do care about balance, but only because they want easy games. Killers run this community, why not give them what they want this time around?
-
Killers can keep camping and tunneling as long as they stop crying about seeing a DS or BT every game. What did you think was going to happen when you used the hook mechanic to your advantage, survivors were just going to roll over and let you? Perks are fine, strategies are fine, only real problem is actual toxicity but that's rare and bannable.
-
Yes buff all killers to swf level(many killers not needing buffs), then we go from there.
-
@SCP_FOR_DBD said:

Solo queue is easy to buff. Besides, who cares if killers are a little bit more op.

Yes there would still be crossplay and you still chose when to have it enabled. No difference at all.

The fun thing about being killer is being something out of a horror movie. The game's never going to be scary, but it could maybe take a step back from being dull. Spine Chill is great for countering Spirit; you can't see her. Spine Chill is great for helping with killers with a TR, because you know whether they're coming your way or preoccupied with something else nearby. Those killers are at full strength. Mikey's not at full strength in tier 1. He sacrifices speed and a lunge while still being totally visible, totally audible, to not have a TR and red stain. His one thing is that survivors have to stay vigilant, stay alert, and he may still get the opportunity to come around a corner and catch you by surprise. I'm working on a gen, moving the camera around to keep an eye on my surroundings, and then suddenly OHMIGOD he's staring at me from behind that tree how long has he been there?!
I mean, it's gotta suck for the survivors in those matches, too. Running Spine Chill and then it ruins any horror value against a spooky Mikey. Wow, woo, there's a little alarm and you Sprint Burst off and you never get a fun moment, just gens and leave. And if you're playing against a Mikey playing for real, he doesn't stay in Tier 1 for long, anyway, so his Spine Chill immunity and chances for spooky moments are a very small part of the match. Unlike Ghostface, Mikey doesn't go from full stealth to instadown while stalking. He goes from full stealth to no stealth to instadown. If survivors haven't noticed him stalking them while in tier 1, they'll discover he's around once he reaches tier 2. No more stealth, no more Spine Chill immunity, and he still has a ways to go before he hits tier 3.
Tier 1 Mikey used to be immune to Spine Chill. Using "consistency" as a reason for changing that seems kinda lame when the change makes things less fun for both sides.
Spine Chill doesn't tell you which way the killer is approaching, you might SB into them.
-
Fun not allowed obv
-
Sounds cool. After that we can give killers a perk that lets them do a little dash every 60 seconds.

I came in expecting a blind rage but you bring up a good point. The devs completely ignore perks as the meta evolves and it just makes the meta more and more stale.

Rather than salty I'm pointing out what sounds like bias to me as of how you wrote it, you can go on assuming but that's no good for you.
You cannot deny how fast games can go for no real reason other than survivors having a single objective and most killers not having any sort of pressure, that's not how it was ever meant to be, if survivors feel not a single inch of opposition to them, it's not fair game, it's a single head against four.
You cannot outplay every single one of them and if you're good you should have a fair chance against another good team, but that's rarely happening. That's what I've been saying the whole time.
That's how I'm gonna conclude it, you have it your way, made my points already.
Personally I would love another objective as well, but the devs know the backlash that will follow so they will never go through with it.

This game is no where as survivor-sided as people tend to make it out; they remember the days from where it legit was super survivor-sided and just run with it, never even stopping to critically think about how the game has changed.
in the same vein, killers are overly sensitive. I've had people tunnel or mori me because I was Scoop Troop Steve, and not even because I was toxic (which I am not, unless you count being marginally decent at looping as toxic).
Likewise, survivors: outside of a few situations (stridor spirit, ebony moris, iri huntress), the killer isn't OP, you just sucked.
Well written, the hate for scoop troop must end!

Do notice that I never said about deviating killers to the OP side, that's on your comments, not mine.
For a game that promotes killers as an unstoppable and dangerous force, it fails to deliver that, gens are easily done, good survivors can loop killers for way too long and certain maps have an insane amount of safe zones and non-mindgame pallets, let alone differente second chance builds that can completely ruin one's efforts within seconds.
What's your thought process on killers shouldn't be a threat to good survivors? What about killers that are really good? They're not a threat either when they're on the killing role?
Do notice your bias instead of pointing out a fake one in my comments, please.
I never suggested that killers are not op rn. Please quote me directly if you want me to eat my words.
Killers are promoted as jack, balance and statistics don't care about how you feel killers should be. Besides, killers will always crush in low skill levels so it's fine for high skill levels to have a balanced environment.
I mean not a threat as in when you face a certain killer you shouldn't lose all hope of escaping. I guess I should've clarified earlier but I didn't expect you to be so salty about an internet discussion.
My bias is towards killers, I know, but I'm certain that I kept it under wraps in this discussion.

I'm not even a killer main and you're resorting to that word, you've got no arguments? 🤷♀️
Sorry I should've said biased instead of main but that's beside the point. You literally said that if killers aren't stronger than survivors then the game is broken and survivors are running rampant willy nilly. What's even the thought process? Are you assuming that everything's fine with 3k as the average but if survivors get one strong map or perk after that the game suddenly becomes 1k average? Please use logic if you want to consider this conversation as an "argument".

They also said that the game is balanced for 2k and 2 escapes, but you disregard that for...? Also, voice comm's make a ######### ton of aura reading perks obsolete, so you have more perks if you are in SWF.
Honest question, do you really think that SWF it's not broken? Or you just arguing for the sake of argument? I gave you reasons why I think it's broken, why do you think it's not broken?
Swf is not broken because the info you get from comms isn't much better than the info you get from having map awareness.

You are one person against four or viceversa, you cannot have a truly balanced experience, I don't think you're seeing what I'm saying.
Truly equal balance would mean having all the options for both sides, and have the same amount of members, this is something you cannot achieve in an assymetrical game because it's not supposed to be like that.
This genre is one of the hardest simply because true balance does not exist and it's not meant to feel fair for the side with the most players, they're supposed to feel threatened simply by the other guy who's got everything else.
Regardless of what you change or do, the game remains the same, it should favor the person who's against the most, otherwise they would always lose with no chances to do anything about it.
No you've got it wrong, killers are not supposed to be threatening to good survivors nor will they ever be. What's up with kilker mains and thinking killers need to be op?
-
@Enlyne said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1556977#Comment_1556977
Being asymmetrical already means not balanced, it's going more for one side (the killer) than the other, it's supposed to be that way, the rest of what you mention is more reliant on the people than on what the game is in reality.
Whether you choose sides or not, or follow whatever rules are made up, it's entirely up to you, objectivity is needed for these things and catering one side over the other is not an acceptable idea.
Assymetrical doesn't mean not balanced, it means disproportionate team sizes. One team is given few but strong members, the other is given many weak members. What about this implies inherent imbalance?

@KingFrost said:

We'd at least get new topics:
Survivor Mains: "Why don't more killers play Freddy or Spirit? Revert the Billy and Nurse nerfs please. Also can we buff the speed boost of NoED?"
Killer Mains: "Why don't more survivors run DS and Unbreakable? Can we get the old insta-heals back?"
Entity Mains: "Survivors and Killers are the REAL power role."
Lol that's fun to think about.
-
@Enlyne said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1556959#Comment_1556959
If that were the case then they could perfectly rework the hook timers among other things, there's no need to throw shade to the devs about it.
Regardless, this game will never fully achieve balanced since it's an assymetrical, so we can only hope for the best.
That's not how it works...assymetricals don't all have secret rules that stop them from being balanced. The real problem is the community forming factions and neither ever feels satisfied, they will claim it isn't balanced when it actually is and when the devs try to cater to one side people on the other side and middle will be the ones calling imbalance. True balance can be achieved in asymmetricals, but it's unlikely that's how the community will recognize it.
-
Nothing wrong with second chance perks inherently. Any type of perk has the potential for being fun and viable.

The first one. As i said, SWF use mechanics outside of the game to have advantages
And yet in the official discord the devs encourage use of these mechanics...the devs are cheating too?
-
@Enlyne said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1556751#Comment_1556751
You mean how wouldn't it be? Survivors are tired of the same objective over and over again, it's not a nerf at all, it's giving more diversity to survivor gameplay and ideally it means the killers will have a bit more time to breathe.
I doubt the devs are competent enough to implement a fun new objective. Whatever the case, more time on objectives means more viability for camping and if the objective doesn't get hate the increase in camping certainly will.
