Feel like that would be more appropriate to compare ppl slugging to avoid DS as opposed to eating it. Your spending time in an effort to avoid the perk activating. Your not activating NOED earlier or anything. I'm not telling you "Well, just get 1 shot when you can afford it better".
Slugging isn't always a waste of time, but neither are dull totems so I guess you have a solid point. Kind of nitpicky though, but I can't be one to complain.
-
So much for the "matchmaking isn't bugged" argument. Bye bye exaggerated narratives.
Hmm shadowborn is definitely a better pick than noed imo.

What is the point here?
Otz is an okayish killer, not the best, not the worst. His billy is also not that great. He did some really big mistakes in this game.
Ayrun is arguable one of the best survivors and he is playing SWF.
Otz gets the 4K ez win with 2 Gen left on one of the worst billy maps.
He got stunned a few times. Oh no :(
This game looked like fun for both sides for me, if you feel offended or stressed by this scenario, stop playing killer, simple as that.
My thoughts exactly, but apparently Otz got very sensitive during this game.

There are too many Survivors. Its too late to make Survivors unique.
They did it for killers, can't be hard to do for survivors.

Just want to see what people thoughts about it are, I'm not shouting nerfs or anything like that
I understand that in a versus game that's usually the case that one side's fun is ussually unfun for the other side but it seems a bit too extreme in this game
Yea that's what I thought. I guess this could be one explanation of the great divide between the two sides. What really baffles me is why someone would only advocate for one side even though neither are anything without the other.

The difference being that eating DS early isnt countering it, just using it up at a more opportune time (assuming the survivor decides to use it). DS is still getting value, even if eaten early whereas NOED being cleansed robs it of value.
Hmm yea survivors wasting 70+ seconds off gens...noed didn't do any work I guess. They were off of gens because of the mystical fae that influenced their minds from the Far Realms right? Pesky fae...
-
I'm sure killers will have fun in lobby simulator, followed by tunnel simulator.
Broken record: Ruin wasn't required nor was it effective against great survivors.
How to counter DS: Don't grab the unhooked survivor for 60 seconds if you want to avoid the stun, otherwise eat the stun as fast as possible to resume tunneling with ease.
How to counter BT: Don't hit the unhooked survivor for 15 seconds. After that, hit em and hook em so you can continue camping.
How to counter Dead Hard: Don't be a potato and swing at invincible survivors.
How to counter Unbreakable: hook survivors
How to counter Adrenaline: Noed I guess?
How to counter Iron Will: Infectious Fright and Stridor
-
You want Head On nerfed? Swf nerfed? The Game nerfed? Just wanted to share a funny game?
So...you think it's problematic most "fun" aspects of one side are miserable for the other? Can't say I disagree 😁

How are totems unrealistic?
They're just as unrealistic as eating a DS early/mid game. You see it in extreme situations: extreme survivor control and extreme killer control respectively.

No offense, but if you find body blocking surprisingly difficulty, then you just suck at the game.Over half the things you can do in this game literally take no skill. The only thing i would argue taking skill is Huntress and Nurse. Like i said before, your idea of "Skill" is subjective. If you think it takes skill to hold M1 for 80 seconds or hit a big skill check when picked up, more power to you.
I meant bodyblocking into a loop and getting a clean break...about as skill based as positioning and landing a flashlight save I would argue, which doesn't take too much skill but does take actual thought and effort. Probably more thought required than bbq or self care.
-
Great job on the add ons so far!

Bro, seriously. Quit it with the "Skill" because your view on it is flawed and catered to serve your own ego.
So that's your counterpoint to my argument? I'm just feeding my ego that my busted second chance perks are very skill based? I don't run perks that aren't skill based like Adrenaline or DS, but if I did what's the problem? The problem is it's effortless difficulty reduction to the game, which you could argue is what BT is. My thoughts about BT are that it takes skill to let your teammate bodyblock you until they get to a loop. That is actually surprisingly difficult.

The only change that I believe it could use is to deactivate when you perform any action related to Altruism or Objective (except Pig boxes).
Gosh, I sure did tunnel that guy after 50 seconds of him holding M1.
100% agree

You can break totems to prevent NOED any time. You can`t prevent DS in endgame unless you start tunneling people earlier
Congrats you just listed 2 unrealistic counters to certain perks that aren't skill based. Well played.

Doesn't matter, the killer was punished for not tunneling when the DS rework was reworked with the idea of not being tunneled, granting the survivor a second chance for playing like garbage.
When were they not tunneling? At the end didn't they literally down a guy and try to immediately rehook them?
-
In that post they only lost their kill because of a small overstep, DS doesn't guarantee free escapes, it just makes trading during egc less risky.
-
An exhaustion perk that rewards careful calculation and timing? I'd love to see another one, maybe it will have something to do with scratch marks?
Gone with the wind: Press the active ability button to create a trail of scratch marks in front of you. You leave no blood trails and make no grunts of pain for 8 seconds after activation. Causes the exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds. Gone with the wind cannot be used when exhausted.
Hopefully not something brainless like Head On.

Make it so only one DS can be active at a time.
So basically add an effect like this to DS:
Upon activation, deactivates every Decisive Strike currently active in current trial.
As much as I want to hate this idea...it does fit the theme DS should have: "You tried to have me, but I ain't that easy bucko". Having more than 1 active just sounds very odd to me tbh.
-
Hmm unique offerings or items for survivors would be a better idea, no? Maybe Dwight has a special toolbox add on, a note from his boss or something of the like that increases his bp gained while working with a toolbox with another survivor. Or maybe Jake has a special offering that spawns 10% more crows on the map. Claudette could have a medkit add on that increases medkit efficiency by around 16.67%. Meg could have an offering that grants bonus points for all survivors in the boldness category. Nea could have a flashlight add on that increases efficiency and accuracy. Feng could have a map add on that lets her passively see generators. David could have an offering that grants bonus points for all survivors in the altruism category. The possibilities are endless.
-
I'm gonna be straight with you...I pretty much just put up a mini-rant. Stubbornness and ignorance can be infectious at times...

I'm really confused, what do you mean? I too care alot about game balance, I just don't have a perfect understanding of it. I generally know what I'm doing, but I just wanted to say that it probably isn't all perfect as the rest of the kind folk here have been bringing to my awareness. I would like to hear your input if you're still willing to give it.
Ok, I'll start going over it. Hopefully my input helps.

:( Honestly I'd forgotten I even hooked the Kate. The last few minutes of the game were pretty fast-paced.
Yea it's ok...I guess it wouldn't hurt if survivors weren't allowed to use DS to rush exit gates and put pressure on the killer. Happy compromise?
-
To be fair the killer did misplay...they could've gotten their kill still if they didn't greed the DS from the Kate. Even after that, the killer still had a chance at looking for the unhooker. This video makes sense to me: playing bad/brainless = bad results. Simple, no?

In all fairness toward Rancor, the obsession is gaining something in return in the form of aura reading that their teammates dont have. This doesnt act as JUST a warning for rancor, but is useful in itself in that the killer is GIVING the survivor Dark Sense for the tradeoff that they have to be extra careful during the endgame. Its similar in a way to OoO whereas yes, you get something strong...but youd giving your opponent something in return.
Hmm I never thought of it that way...a free perk and all it costs is my life if I get caught. Thanks for pointing that out mate :)

That was so much BS.
I honestly believe DS should only work BEFORE the 5th gen pops.
Mince it’s endgame, it should be disabled
Yes because that's not abusable by swf at all. Not to mention the fact that end game altruism leads to nothing but more points for both sides. But yeah, let's give killers more power in endgame :))
(99ing gens to proc DS, something like that)
-
Killers: "Why don't survivors fear killers? They really should, fix this BHVR!"
Killers, along with others: "Survivors stop being afraid of killers! This is ridiculous behavior, why play a horror game if you can't man up and get to the objectives?"
Lovely community 😊

Did I say you shouldn't be sympathetic? Did I say I wasn't?
No, you can't save people in the endgame if you're affected by Rancor. Sometimes you can't do the thing you want to do because unfortunate things happen that you can't personally control. That is the case in pretty much every game ever, not to mention life in general.
I know being on the receiving end of Rancor sucks. I just don't automatically consider it to be a design flaw if something in a game isn't fun for me.
Hard disagree. Nurse basekit change is a design flaw, DS is a design flaw, and moris are a design flaw (at least in terms of balance). Good design is fun, what else would it be?

first of all, if a teammate takes you off the hook right infront of me without borrowed time, and you dont have DS. You're going straight back to the hook....If it helps towards a kill/betters my score and will slow down gens as a result I don't care if you cry tunnel or not, because its not my problem your teammates suck.
secondly, If bvhr would stop spitting on killers I'd feel sympathy towards "fixing DS". If anything it needs a big fat nerf, and as you know anything that they "fix" is actually just a nerf (spirit, nurse, legion as a few examples) So I'd be careful what you wish for
How was the Doctor fix a nerf?

It's funny the way survivors react to slugging sometimes.

I feel like it would be easier to just say "Decisive strike will deactivate if another survivor is hooked" Still works as an anti-tunnel perk. Still has a long timer to ensure it works against tunneling, but you'll next to never have a situation where you didn't tunnel and still get DS'd for just running into them.
Some thing more like "Decisive Strike will deactivate if another survivor is downed and hooked" would help prevent abuse by killers 😁

How does that make sense? Survivors have to be surviving, there has to be a risk of something for death... the devs routinely ask if this is a horror game.
Killer routinely deals with 4 people at a time whereas the survivors mainly have to worry about 1. There is already an imbalance with that ratio (it's already something like 95/5 at the moment), so it's not like that's going to be maintained at all.
The ratio has consistently been 60/40 for all we know.

Well you definitely can, just the devs refuse to do it. Banning OoO in SWF lobbies for example.
Then they would just lobby dodge to gain an advantage...

By making this change to the perks, you’re not balancing anything. We don’t need to raise solo queue survivors to the tiers of SWF we need to do the exact opposite. I get that we need to bridge the gap more but more coordination with survivors may not be the best idea
You can't nerf swf bud

It should not work on any grab, especially lockers. Lockers are becoming way too safe these days. It should be dangerous to enter one. Running DS means that you can enter a locker without fear of being hooked. It's also BS to find a Survivor in a locker only to realize that they have DS active.
Agree. DS shouldn't be a locker perk.
