No need to win as survivor

False. I am a Killer main, and I respect Survivors who display a suitable amount of skill or talent without being toxic.
Guess I was exaggerating :/
-
Nobody who only plays one side respects the other side.
-
I enjoy both equally, but play killer if my friends aren't on because it's easier. I actually am higher rank as killer, so something like 60/40 killer survivor is what I would expect it to be.
-
Killer hasn't changed much for me, like I always say. There are more boosted potatoes though
-
Only in totem roulette. Outside of that I don't want my power in the survivors' hands.

Majority of your posts are negative.
Hmm I guess you're right
-
Why is that such a bad thing?
-
I think games go too fast, and players aren't able to do everything they need to most times.

You must be in a bad mood today.
What makes you say that?

Now, and follow me on this one, if nurse was easily the best and still is but had a bad kill rate, does that mean she wasn't the best? No, it means people playing here were awful and the people that were even decent with her could dominate.
Replace Nurse with survivors and you have the exact same situation.
Hmm I'm pretty sure people know how to play survivor though...

I'm in the same boat. Since they nerfed ruin survivors have an easier time ranking up. Killers are depipping because it's harder without early game pressure. So the red ranks are flooded with survivors that shouldnt be there and killers very scarce cause no one is playing till they fix this mess. Once you que up long enough the match making then throws the first available killer your way. regardless of what rank you are.
Which is why they are going to hide the ranks so you can't "see" that your getting screwed.
The recent changes make ranking up easier for killer, then you just combine that with potato red rank survivors and you've got easy rank ups.

Nurse had a less than 50% kill rate post rework.
Well yea, people were still learning how to use her

fun trapper nerf idea: make survivors able to go over traps with dead hard, so the trapper either gets caught in his own trap or has to pick it up. Although that might be a bit extreme honestly.
Fun trapper nerf idea: he can't carry more than one trap without add ons and injured survivors aren't downed by traps
-
They are removing them :)

Just crouch through tall grass watching the screen if it bothers you mate.
Also, surprised no one has said nice bait yet.

Hm idk, I’m up in the air on this one as. 40/60 killer player bc I 3k-4K more than i escape, both at red ranks- it seems to me It’s killer sided, but the whole game isn’t based on my win streak lol so I’m gonna say it’s based on skill and tbh there are killers who have 80% kill rates like Freddy and Hag (75% or so) and that high of a percent would be hard to screw up IMO. There are easier and harder killers to play, and it takes skill to play certain killers like Billy, Hag, Oni, Nurse, Huntress, there is no skill choice for survivor because they are reskins. If you pick one of the killers who actually requires strategy or coordination, then it’s survivor sided. If you pick any of the killers who only require a basic knowledge of the game, then you’re into balanced/killer sided territory.
honestly I wish survivors had special skills or stats... then there would be more accurate ways to tell? Maybe lol
all I know is when I was rank 15 killer I bodied A rank 2-4 SWF w Nurse (going for her adept) and it was a battle to the end but it wasn’t imbalanced.
again this is my experience and not applying to everyone lol so take it w a grain or 10 of salt 🧂
also here are some funny pics of spirit
Yes why are survivors skins? Makes no sense :(
So you say some killers make the game balanced while others aren't strong enough. Sounds accurate to me.
-
Survivor perks aren't toxic, but DS is definitely a bit more abusable than other survivor perks.

I have no clue how they would ever program that into the perk.
Regardless of how the killers playing though, multiple uses would seem really busted.
If maps were fixed and a lot of the weak killers improved then I suppose that could be fine. Just basing this on the games current state though.
Why should the killer be allowed to camp just because your BT ran out? I think a good compromise would be that it starts out with no tokens but gains a token each time the killer lurks near the hook(24/30m?) for 20 seconds with no other survivors around. Then it can punish camping like it's supposed to. Of course, to not punish killers who are just looking around, you can have the first 10 seconds after someone being hooked not give progress to BT, nor will BT activate during that phase.
Pros: Keeps BT strong and allows it to always punish campers
Cons: By campers I mean only killers with a TR :(
Maybe BT could also be changed to activate within a set range instead of TR, but would that be too much?
-
Yea guys follow the rulebo-
I mean stop doing these things!

@EvilJoshy said:
Try playing as the doctor against red survivors and then tell me he is OP.
Seriously. One of the best ways to learn how to counter a killer is to play them and see what survivors do to you.
Yes there are many posts about extremely successful doc builds here.

@EvilJoshy said:
They get a GG even if they ALL run DS, Adren, BT, DH and bring toolboxes.
Besides we've had this argument countless times before. Survivors can get rid of noed before it even gets used. End of Discussion.
Getting rid of noed takes time~

"I thought the solution would be fixing maps and killers until all killers perform well but apparently survivors are just straight up OP because the best of them can beat the average killer."
Those are basically the same thing. If maps and killers were better balanced then all the killers would be more balanced and the person with more skill would actually be winning. "Camping/tunneling" would also then be unnecessary for any killer.
Yes I know I was making a sarcastic statement that mirrors the mindset of too many people on these forums. Sorry it wasn't obvious, apparently you're quite accustomed to seeing it used unironically.

Spirit's window vault animation isn't a basekit nerf?
Spirit plays almost exactly the same. If sounds weren't bugged you'd see her everywhere.
-
Wth...they didn't nerf Doc, why do you expect them to nerf Bubba? Sounds immature to me bud.
-
I play in NA and I haven't gotten many toxic people, just ggs and thank yous.

How did you not know this already?

Given the implied answer being yes I'd say that indeed nerfing Ruin is thus the right move.
Because if this much is needed to make up for it, then it's a good thing we are finally getting to ripping off that bandaid so we can get a REAL solution.
This isn't much. This doesn't make top tier killers any stronger. Does that mean more changes are still needed because now the top tiers are too weak?
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1072682#Comment_1072682
I don't either. What I mean by that is you have to tunnel some again the best survivor groups. Playing "fair" against the best survivors without using one of the top tier killers you will lose. I'm not refering to the vast majority of average games where you can still win playing "fair".
So you think it's unfair that the best survivors will win unless you're using the best killers? Can't say I disagree but also can't say I ever thought of it like that. I thought the solution would be fixing maps and killers until all killers perform well but apparently survivors are just straight up OP because the best of them can beat the average killer. I was wrong all along 😂
-
Survivor sided balance wise? Not even close. Survivor sided experience wise? Yea they need 4 survivors for every killer 4head.

If a perk slot is the cost itself then we have a lot of other perks that are getting double negatives that aren't even as strong. Calling that the cost for it's strength level is a bit of a stretch. Current BT you just yolo in for the save with zero thought or timing because of it's current design.
"Exhaustion perks aside, every single survivor perk is heavily situational. Most games will go by without using half of them. Even the "meta" perks are all situational."
The current survivor meta perks are quite literally the opposite of situational. DS, BT, Unbreakable etc are not situational, let me explain. Even IF the perks do not activate, they have STILL done a lot for you. If they didn't activate then the killer played completely "fair" by survivor standards and you would have won the game anyway if you and your team were actually good. If you still lost then ya'll misplayed a lot. The fact that they force a killer to play a certain way to intentionally avoid them activating IS why they are strong.
"Adrenaline requires gens completed and even then can be completely useless if you're uninjured and not currently in a Chase."
I have zero issue with Adrenaline. It rewards doing their objective with a perk down. Well designed perk.
"DS is useless if you don't get tunneled. BT is useless if the killer doesn't camp. Unbreakable does nothing if you don't get slugged. So on and so on."
Refer to my response on meta perks above. You're entirely missing the value those perks are giving you even when they don't activate.
"Hell, three of those perks wouldn't even be the "meta" if killers just played better. They'd be useless."
I don't think you play killer at a high level or you would see how much this sentence isn't accurate at all.
I don't think tunneling is the only way to win as killer...sometimes, with some killers, it is but usually you'll do just fine spreading pressure as long as you don't let the survivors hook rush safely.
-
It's easier to play survivor with a victim complex. Apparently they're not the only ones who have it...

He can do whatever he wants tho. Im guessing your a survivor main? Holding M1 for the win so much skill.
By that logic the survivors can also do what they want.

That would be true, if cleansing a totem took longer.
Every second counts. I wouldn't hate it if they took an extra second each, but it shouldn't be more than a gen imo(gen < 80 sec).
-
Hmm yes give less skilled players a boost so they can take on players of higher skill. It would help a lot until mm is fixed.

Feels like a reddit post...but
Been there

Killer is a lot easier at red ranks where ruin was used most due to rank dilution in survivors. If ruin was still in the game BHVR's income would reach an all time low. Thanks for being selfish I guess, anything you want me to speculate on?
-
Can't play killer without it. I'm an efficiency nut you might say 😅

They do, but unlike what survivors can do with NOED, they can't prevent them completely.
If survivors wasted time cleansing dull totems, noed is doing work

Demo has an (admittedly awful) addon to cause exhaustion with his portals, and both Demo and Oni have perks that apply exhaustion in their kits
Oh rly? We're saved. I disregarded the perks because we were talking about add ons specifically.

Mori's I might be able to understand (though it's kind of irrelevant given that toolboxes are far more common, by like 100x), but NOED compared to toolboxes? That's a bit silly. Whether NOED ever happens is completely up to the survivors.
Killers have a counter to toolboxes so *shrug*
-
The audacity of killers bringing moris/noed. I guess you want salt or dcs or whatever.
-
Ok indeed. Isn't it a bit salty of you to start a thread about it? Gg and go as they say.

Huh it's not as bad as I thought. Also, Dying is a status I'm pretty sure.

Stopped reading past you don't care about game balance. That's literally ALL I care about so I doubt my input would help much.

Second Wind isn't anti-tunnel in any shape or form. It has nothing to do with being overshadowed. There could be zero anti-tunnel perks in the game other than SW and people still wouldn't run SW for anti-tunnel. It doesn't punish tunneling at all. If someone makes it 30 seconds off the hook they weren't being tunneled anyway.
I see SW as a hybrid perk: It's anti-tunnel and efficiency.
If the killer tunnels you off the hook, if you can manage to last 32 seconds in a chase, you just increased the requirement for the killer to down you by 100%.
However, if you don't get tunneled, the perk changes roles, it now helps you to be efficient on time.
Perfect change for DS, that's balanced.
Awesome, glad we can agree!
With the form of BT you're wanting it turns into quite literally just a better form of the current DS we have now...in a world where the current DS is stupidly OP and currently the best perk in the game. There's basically zero counter play in this BT.
You can down the savior or you can wait out the Endurance status effect. Your version removes the second part of the or statement because you increased it to 30 seconds.
I thought SW paused in chase or smth?

Uh... You have BT to counter camping. If you unhook someone in front of a camper and they weren't running BT, that's on them, not you. The perk still does exactly what it was designed for, but now let's you decide if you want that protection instead of the random stranger coming to farm... er unhook you.
Please note: "memes"
