Do you not think it kinda feels a bit petty though? They didn't need to put in the effort to create a counter to it, barely anyone other than them types of survivor mains was complaining about it, they must've seen it was a good perk and it was built in a fair way.
They literally had no reason to make it. None. Other than screwing over killers I guess? Unless there's another reason i'm unaware of.
It's a cool perk idea. No other reasons needed nowadays.
-
There can be counters to fair things. Calm Spirit and Spine Chill exist. It also counters Ruin, not just PGTW.
-
The PGTW/Ruin counter is nice but it would require a lot of coordination to make use of it. It's comparable to Second Wind in terms of power level imo.

As much as I disagree with you, you're absolutely right. I play both and the perk will likely not be as bad as people think it will be. Much like Head On.
Agreed, but time will tell.

It took 42 minutes after the release of spirit for people to complain about how weak she is, i think it's fine for people to also complain about strength or whatever when they don't understand the killer yet.
*Traumatic Freddy flashbacks*
No thank you

Killers are already crying about a niche anti-slugging perk. Both complaints are unjustified atm.

Define trial warm up
Gens are slowed by 50% or more until the killer gets a hit or into chase.

@shwag said:
I really hope it is a new objective for survivors, something we can do before jumping on gens to help pace the game.
Maybe just me but i grow tired of rushing to do gens.
No one's forcing you to rush gens. You always have the choice of going for saves, doing bones, or searching chests if you feel like it. I agree a new objective would be nice though.

I hope it's a Trial Warmup

While I like survivor build diversity possibilities when I play survivor both effects soul guard is simply put unneeded at this point.
Lets get the elephant in the room out of the way: Its hex hate part shouldn't exist as nearly all hexes are already bad perk and making it so they can literally empower the survivors makes the weakest perk category even weaker.
For soul guard's main effect its simply put way too long(Should be at longest 5 seconds) for what it en-tales sense slugging is expose to be the counter to 2nd chance perks and this is a major infinite use counter to slugging with no draw backs.
- It doesn't nerf hexes because it encourages you keep them active
- 8 seconds is half of BT, which is already easy to work around. This effect is only useful in niche endgame scenarios or if the killer chooses to let it activate.
- I agree it should have a requirement or limitation to make it less of a catch all perk.

Long range Nurse's
Hangman's trick Mad Grit Agitation meme
Weak stealth perk
Unbreakable but conditional with some farming security
Bad Empathy/Aftercare with a Haste flavor effect
PGTW counter

If it was a killer perk I'd expect massive changes before release. It's a survivor perk though so rolling unbreakable and alternative borrowed time into one perk is probably here to stay. Ugh
Oh no the devs are finally making a possibly viable survivor perk that might shake up the meta, time to bash them!

Im sorry @Peanits while i do think we should wait and see how it plays. There are way too many second chance perks as it is and i think we might just see it as part of the meta :/
DS, Adrenaline, BT and Soul Guard? I hope killers are getting a perk that can help with this stuff. 🙁
Survivors aren't getting an extra perk slot. This is just another perk in the pool, it's not a survivor buff.

This is true, but even if you are disappointed, that doesn't mean you are required to be ungrateful. People are already complaining about the new killer so immaturely.
But yes, I understand a bit of the letdown for some. Even then, there's a silver lining to everything but nobody wants to hear it anymore in this community.
I'm grateful people are hyped about the killer. When I find something else to be grateful for, I'd be happy to share it with you so you don't put me down for having a different set of opinions. Sometimes it's more important that we put hype aside, but I guess I can agree with you that this might not be the best time to do so(within an hour of release). Then again, this is when people's opinions are at their strongest.

Not true, I've Sprint Bursted against non stealth killers and still got hit by them. Albeit by dedicated server hits or them finding a way to gain distance they wouldn't normally be able to. GhostFace generally is hard to see, especially on dark maps. He can get hits before you SB. Unless you're on a gen wide open and/or the killer is just charging straight at you out in the open, which would be stupid for a stealth killer in the first place. They generally come from around trees connected to gens or other such ways. If you don't have spine chill you won't always know you're going to be hit.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1303358#Comment_1303358
Usually when you hear GhostFace's boots it's too late. The only stealth killer who you can reliably hear is Myers or Wraith. Also there are FAR too many gens that have a lot of blocked off sights. There are a few in the open, and on some maps that are just bad for stealth killers(Dead Dog Saloon) there isn't much of a reason to not use Sprint Burst, but that's all randomized and nothing you'd know before going in unless you played a map offering. Most gens have things blocking your view from some or many angles. Any stealth killer who isn't just walking right at you will likely get a hit if you don't have Spine Chill, Sprint Burst or not.
Lots of dumb things can happen if you're bad at the game. It doesn't limit a perk's potential

....the killer looks like a copy paste of your opinion? Riiiight. Now you're just arguing to argue with no actual input.
If you wanna ######### on peoples cake that's fine, yoi donyou, but dont act like you have some reason to do it other than "your opinion".
People give their opinions all the time. You don't have to go on the Internet and interact with people if you don't want them to.
-
Part of maturity is acknowledging that different people have different opinions, so I think we should be doing a bit more of that.

I said they can't rag on me because they obviously dislike that people are ragging on them. Copy pasted from my opinion.

People are allowed to be disappointed. Let them get their feelings out so they can view the new content objectively. The perks suck btw.

So of course they will be hyping up SILENT FREAKING HILL OF ALL THINGS.
It's one of the most iconic horror franchises to date.

No matter what they chose there will always be a portion of the community who find it lame. I'm very satisfied with pyramid head, so
It's an entirely different story when they hype it up to be the most iconic killer they have released. It's just simply false and people deserve to be disappointed, objectively. I'm of course not saying people can't have their own opinions, but the PR was off point for this chapter.
-
Agreed. They hyped it up too much for what it was.
-
I thought the new chapter would be something I could personally get excited about...guess not. He might as well be an original killer to most people, pretty disappointing.
-
Literally everyone was guessing Silent Hill. Speculation started with the fact that his head is shaped like the 4
Personally I think it's a good pick even though I had no idea it existed before all this speculation began.

There is no way Sprint Burst is better than Spine Chill against STEALTH killers. Other killers like Oni, sure, but Sprint Burst cannot guarantee you'll get away from the killer in time before he gets his first free hit off. Spine Chill does. You can't always see all around you, and then there are those obnoxious moments when you get skillchecks and have to stop moving your camera. That said, I guess I could see why you'd think that, unless you were playing Ghost Face, as he is the only real killer who doesn't have to alert survivors before he attacks. Well, Pig can too. Wraith can sort of catch up to a Sprint Burster though as he gets his own.
As for my most annoying combination, I'd probably have to say Sloppy Butcher/Thanataphobia on anyone,or Corrupt Intervention and Plague.
Sprint Burst does guarantee it if you have actual eyes and ears lol
-
Hasn't happened to me yet fortunately.

@Huff said:
This might be a bit controversial to say but, hot take incoming:
I actually think what you're saying might be a good thing, about not allowing keys to be found in chests, EXCEPT with Plunderer's. I feel like Plunderer's is a perk where the perk itself doesn't really help you out much, it's more the items it provides that help you out, and still allowing for keys would retain the identity of Plunderer's. Even if you can still get keys, there's still several different items you can get, and there's only I think 3 chests that spawn on average, so you'd have to be getting lucky or bringing a lot of coin offerings, plus losing out on a perk slot (or two if you want Ace in the Hole as well) as the price to pay for that chance to get the keys.
I do think it's kind of annoying dealing with keys as killer, and I even had a game as survivor where the killer was about to 4k but I found a purple key in a chest last minute and just because the killer hooked a survivor near the hatch, I was able to open it and get 2 of us out (unfortunately the 3rd didn't make it.) I felt kind of bad just ripping 2 kills away right from his fingertips. Either way, if keys are going to exist in bloodwebs and I'm going to have to deal with them anyway, I wouldn't be opposed to people running Plunderer's and/or AitH and losing out on some other perks, while still allowing keys to be obtained, since I can still try to stop them from using it.
Getting a key without Plunderer's is pretty much a Kobe in terms of probability and wastes a lot of time to attempt. I wouldn't riot if it was removed but there is little reason to do so besides pandering to the demands of angry killers who don't understand how keys and chests work in the first place.

@Saitamfed said:
Personally... PERKS. I am intrigued of the new perk design and if they're going to fit in the (bored) meta we seems to be stuck in.
I don't expect much from them, judging based on the last few chapters. I expect another round of gimmicky perks with no impact on the meta.
-
I'm hoping for Pennywise. He's more hype than Candyman and his power will be more unique and interesting than Jason. Idk who Pinhead is, I'm kinda sad that it's probably who we're getting.
-
You obviously just got out-skilled
-
As if chests weren't irrrelevant enough of a secondary objective. Keys could use some changes, but no need to nerf chests.

Sprint burst is still a better counter to stealth than spinechill. If a whole team is running spinechill as a stealth it's not a big deal. If the entire team is using Sprint burst I may as well afk as a stealth killer.
True. Usually if they use SB I try to swap targets but if they all have it I'm an m1 killer lol

That's easy, if they run away before you get there, especially as a stealth killer and you don't even get to hear repairs. Usually someone only gets one freebie with it and then I start moon walking to gens. Walking backwards is annoying though so I'll second that.
I think moonwalking is pretty interesting but I guess I kinda agree here. I mostly disagree that Spine Chill is boring because without it all stealth encounters would be exactly the same.
-
I would guess there aren't enough low rank survivors/too many low rank killers in your region.
