I never insulted you just a little bit of sass! my problem with your post is that it’s not constructive at all. Just saying I expected something better is so subjective and says nothing to the devs.
imagine going to a restaurant “how was the food? Well it worked perfectly but I want something better” like nah that don’t cut it.
This isn't the feedback section. I don't have to address the devs in all of my comments.

That's because I was the first to do so on this thread. What's your point?

I mean, if the killers dont try for a kill at all why play killer? If EGC is on, and 3 are almost out and you have one you can camp/tunnel and end, why the ######### would you say, "eh, I dont HAVE to kill anybody, I'm just gonna sit and let them all leave. Ya know, how us killers are supposed to."
At the very least doing so can show you how effective the new killer is at defending a dead hook or chasing people off.
Um...yup

Define better?
For the many who’ve clearly expressed excitement for this chapter?
Or just for you personally?
we’ll have words with the devs in the future to make sure future chapters are in line with your personal expectations🙄
Chill out I said PH fits perfectly. Don't gotta come out and insult me for giving my opinion especially when it lines up with yours.

If anything, they'll just ######### the data to where PH looks weak, hell get buffed, and those same people will ######### nonstop about him.
Why would the devs use early PTB sttat to make big changes. Your sttatement is more a joke than a scenario.

My first match yesterday as ph was 2 rank 1s a rank 3 and a rank 4 so... after getting my ass blasted i had to guarantee A Kill.
Technically you didn't have to, but I see what you mean. Killers are entitled to kill, and that's fine by me.
-
If I see a baby facecamping PH, I'm rushhing gens, teabagging, and getting out. New killers don't deserve mercy if they don't show it to the survivors. Facecamping is not "learning the killer".

ok

Wow who could've guessed people will do what they always do. I am in awe of your genius and nuanced analysis.

This gets up my nose.
-Survivors encounter a new killer.
-Survivors are unaccustomed to the new killers power and abilities.
-Survivors get slaughtered in early matches.
-Survivors cry about how 'OP' the killer is.
-Killer gets big nerf.
-Survivors celebrate and exploit the killer's post-nerf weaknesses.
-The killer is far less effective and is used far less.
-Another success story.
Yeah those Demo and Deathslinger nerfs were devestating
Grow up and cut the victim act

Do it yourself.

Who cares if you lose a few generators when they, the survivors, still have miles to go? My solution reduces the weight of completing a generator significantly. To put into perspective, currently you can say a generator is weighted roughly 20% because there are 5 generators and they are the main source of time. The Exit Gates don't really buy you time nor are they easy to pressure, it just depends on a lot of variables (so let's just keep it simple and say they aren't weighted as much).
If we add more time consuming objectives such as Fuse Boxes, generators become less weighted. Ideally the second objectives should make generators weigh 10%, which means survivors will have to complete 2 generators to make the same progress in our current objective system. 🙂
I understand the intention, but I'm not sure others would. I can already imagine complaints of gens being too fast arising because people don't understand the impact of the changes. Would be to much of a hassle for the devs imo, but I still like the idea personally.

Yeah they way they were teasing us I was expecting someone completely different but I'm not disappointed cause I've been saying for a year PH would make a good addition. They hyped it up too much. I seriously thought it was going to be Candyman but between those two id rather have PH. Then when the devs were talking how "iconic horror figure since their inception" they made it sound like they got the rights to Jason or some other well known name.
Exactly, PH is perfect for dbd but I expected something better lol

Not every survivor speaks like that. Only the ones that don’t want to add anything constructive to the discussion.
Correct. Sad to see so many people agree with the sentiment.

Although I support his idea, I believe it would more interactive if it was something more than, "Everyone receives a 50% repair speed penalty until either a survivor takes damage or enters a chase"
Personally, I would like to see a second objective such as finding all Fuse Boxes once the Exit Gates are activated. Overall, they would add, hmm, let's say, 4 minutes if the killer can apply decent pressure. Generators could have their repair time reduced by 10 to 20 seconds since we don't want to extend the game too much. Of course, my suggestion is just what comes from the top of my head, it can definitely be improved on! 🙂
More end game stuff doesn't really make sense. Most players complain about generators going away without a chance to save them, the devs want to address these complaints is what I'm guessing. Scott Jund's idea would work, but replacing gen times with more end game stuff probably wouldn't.

There's also the one that goes along the lines of "adapt"
Lol yup almost forgot
-
A long time ago the devs added something called downing and hooking survivors. I don't know if people still use it or not, but back then that's how gen speeds were "fixed".
These modern times appear to be a completely different beast with killers needing more help than ever. /s

The Candyman argument is pure speculation. Both have plenty of powers and implementations to choose from so comparing them has no definite answer. It's limited by your imagination.

It's a mediocre perk that is only decent with a few builds on a few killers. By itself it is a bad perk. I'm talking a "oh shoot that perk looks nice, what kind of builds can I use with it!" kind of perk.
Surge had that kind of vibe imo. Cruel Confinement had hype and I hope they give it a really nice buff like global range or just increased range and duration.

I'm disappointed with the killer perks....again. Seriously I can't recall the last time we had a really nice killer perk added to the game.

Like for example, I didn't want those characters as they are not "scary" at all, while Pyramid Head looks pretty scary. He also looks incredible
Fair point.

No, maybe they just don't want Pennywise, Xenomorph, Candyman or Jason in the game.
Still kinda weird that negativity is what you focus on to channel your hype. It'd be like if killers celebrated the SH chapter mainly because the killer counters DS or if survivors celebrated the chapter because the killer and perks are weak. Seems wack to me but obviously to each their own and no one's gonna stop ya.

@Deadeye said:
Not sure yet what to think about this chapter. To be realistic, I think Resident Evil and Silent Hill are the only horror games that would somehow fit into DBD. I looked through some top lists and there is nothing that would offer both characters and a map setting. Just heard someone saying Evil Within but I haven't played that yet. So Silent Hill in my opinion is the best game choice they could go for.
But when I thought about Pyramid Head when the theories began, I wasn't sure how he should be, because he is a very slow killer that gets deadly when you get too close or into dead ends. And this kind of threat simply doesn't work in DBD. And that's why I dislike him at the moment. The fast steps he makes with that leaned back pose looks a bit clumsy. It doesn't look like he is carrying a super heavy bone crushing sword. And his trailing power somehow doesn't get me either.
I'm also disappointed at the theme music. A piano alone doesn't make Silent Hill soundtrack. Can't say what it is, the components itself fit, but I don't like the piano notes, and the overall feeling is not Silent Hill alike for me.
But I haven't played a lot yet. I like his appearance, I love the map and I love Silent Hill, most likely my impression of the overall will get better soon, but I thnk this chapter had much more potential.
Sidenotes: perks are crap, again. There are some builds that are worth trying, and then they will soon vanish again under the meta. And I wanna see a Mad Grit Pyramid Head
Hmm did they get PH's power wrong? If PH can't get this kind of power then that sadly confirms my fears that dbd will never truly capture that feeling. Then again I never played SH so I dunno the specifics.

The fact that it isn't Pennywise, Xeno, Candyman, or Jason is the reason why I'm excited. Even more so now that there is a Killer with a base power that defeats hook perks.
Why would that excite you? You get a kick out of the disappointment of others?
-
What is it that survivors always say? Starts with "Git", ends with "Gud" perhaps?
-
Devs: Let's make survivors lose add-ons as much as killers!
Also Devs: Let's make the survivor add-on protection worse than the killer one!
Everyone: Hmm...but why?

To be fair, both sides are bias. Killer for thinking nothings wrong (tending to put a blindfold over their eyes when a problem is in their favor, survivors do it too) and survivors for thinking that its too broken without it being even a day. From what I've watched, he can ignore a lot of mechanics in the game. Blinding, flashlight saves, carrying to the hook, ds, borrowed time, walls, loops, bodyblocking. This is kinda a lot for one killer to negate. So I can see a lot of the worry. In a general forum though, everyone here spreads their bias.
Ok, not like I was suggesting anything else. Thanks for the ammendment I guess?
-
Your opponent shouldn't be forced to accommodate you. Goes both ways :)

That's a neat idea. Maybe a I could fit "presumptuous" and "stereotyping" on it as well. Although I would probably not find much use for them, it'd be a fun thought project at least.

I think it's fair. Dunno why people wouldn't, losing out on bbq, pop, and camping is a hefty price sometimes.
-
I'm not salty I'll just post a thread about it.
Jk, I agree it's funny seeing them dance. The longer they stay with me the less time they have to bully baby killers.
-
3 perk combo to get 8 second endurance by grouping up. Definitely broken...
-
@Rydog said:
It's crazy to think that they would make a specific killer, 1 of 20, to counter exactly 1 of 80 perks. It's not a counter when the game's roulette wheel is that big. You can't reliably counter anything in this kind of environment.
The cage skips all "on hook" effects, and more importantly it saves pickup and transport time. Time is the killer's most precious resource, and I would guess that this would open the Executioner up to some good, aggressive play.
Ikr, cages are basically slugging without the downsides. This killer is gonna be nuts!
-
DS is balanced. PGTW and BBQ are balanced. Use cages at your own risk. I like it.
-
Boohoo not everyone likes the same thing you like. This is a thread for opinions and discussion, no need to belittle anyone.
-
Good chapter, nothing too great. No cross play or matchmaking fixes. Cool killer, good fun power. Cool map, annoying walls and confusing verticality. Clown buff is meh, still a boring killer but at least more viable. Music composure is excellent I'll admit. Perks are disappointing. Survivor is meh, but we got a triple female run so that's nice. Good chapter, but many things left unsolved and the killer isn't anything so special that he goes past Oni or Nurse status. For the fans it's amazing as always, for others it can be great fun after looking past the PR.

I think the fact that it caused so much heartbreak is why I love this reveal so much. In contrast, I honestly would have been disappointed if it was something we (by we I mean everyone but me) wanted. Assuming they don't nerf the Cages and how they affect hook perks, I think I'll play the crap out of Pyramid just to spite people. The only time I ever felt disappointed was with Demogorgon and Ghost Face, but that was before I watched Stranger Things or played Ghost Face. And now I love Ghost and like Stranger Things more than Demogorgon.
You would honestly be disappointed to see Jason arrive in this chapter?
-
Boohoo. Shrek isn't even a horror character lol.
-
@BubbaMainBoi said:
We all we're saying it was going to be pyramid head, but people were in their bubble thinking it was going to be "candyman"
More people hated on candyman than pyramid head from what I've seen. Pretty much the exact same reasons, except candyman haters were more focused on his irrelevancy than their personal bias against the character. Not to say there weren't plenty of people with largely unjustified bias against candyman, but overall we could agree SH was a bigger name.

It's weird because of exactly what i stated.
It's like 2 Perks became one, this has nothing to do with what's strong or weak.
Nemesis is weird like that too.
Weird is a weird word to use. I personally connotate it with "unfamiliar" and "uncomfortable". I think "unique" would fit better but that's just me. I'm just being that annoying person that judges people's statements based on their vocabulary at this point lol. Fair enough.
-
@Boss said:
I don't really mind the 2nd effect.
But i find it weird how it's like they slapped an additional Perk effect onto this Perk.
"Yeah, you get the Endurance effect for 8 seconds once healed from the Dying State. Pretty neat, right?...
...
...Also, Cursed allows you to get up now."
How is it weird? Neither are strong enough on their own and making these types of effects too annoying by making them stronger is easy. Slapping them together, like was done with Nemesis, was a clever play in terms of perk design. At least imo :P
-
This is how it should've been in the beginning. One bloodweb, changing characters using the skin system. Survivors are just skins...

@illusion said:
I get that some people are disappointed, but the killer seems interesting and decently though out. I'd much rather have them add a killer that has a unique playstyle, than adding a killer just because they are popular.
They aren't mutually exclusive...
