  • Ignore the people crying/trying to undermine your post. They're all killer mains, they are all mediocre at best, and they're mad DS/UB wasn't nerfed when Undying was.

Ignore em. Their opinion means nothing.

  • As a survivor main at r1, I recommend they nerf DS.

I'm tired of killers complaining about this, when I don't even use it. I want it nerfed so inferior survivor mains that rely on it, find other ways of playing. I don't play around with UB or DS, I see no problem nerfing it. A good survivor main wouldn't rely on it anyways.

So please, devs. As a survivor main, please nerf this. I want to see how survivors play w/o it. Thank you very much.

  • HUD: I like the more identifiable parts of it like being able to see which character is which player, but I hate that its at the top of the screen, vertical instead of horizontal. But we'll see.

Undying: No complaints. It'll still be used and its still good. People are just crying b/c they relied on it. A lot of killer mains mad that they didn't address UB and DS but I barely even run them in the first place. I get around playing w/o them just fine, and Im a red rank survivor going back and forth between 1 & 2. I also see a lot more killers going towards NoED which I'm 100% okay with since I deal with it regularly enough anyways its not a problem.

Clown: I think its actually a good change, better control and new strategies. I will be interested to see what people do with him.

    MMR system: Cool, lets see.

Rewards for ranks : Big letdown. Getting to rank1 survivor/killer already takes a ton of time, you're already raking in tons of BP, and their reward is...more BP? Would rather have exclusive charms, outfits, be rewarded with shards, someone also mentioned like the top 1000 get some auric cells. All way more pleasing rewards than BP. And our ranks reset to 20 now so the reward is just bleh IMO.

Graphics overhaul of Gideon and Asylum: Lookin niiiice.

New animations: Meh, not much to say. Don't have issues with the current one so didn't really think this was needed but we'll see.

Overall I think its going to be a good update.

  • Is this a bad surprise or a good surprise? Lol

  • Yea I think 250k is very low/unrewarding. 250k is not much and if you're putting a lot of time into the game and get r1, I feel like you deserve something a bit more pleasing. I like the idea of rewarding players with shards, or exclusive charms, outfits, etc. Bloodpoints are easily obtainable, and if you play a lot, you already rake in a ton. So the reward is more bloodpoints? Seriously? :/

  • I'm very happy with the changes, honestly. What I'm extremely excited for is the MMR skill based system coming. Can't wait!

Watch the video again. The first chase was the Bait. Only survivor with DS. Even if he would have camped her, the others would get her out.

So it just came down to rng of which survivor you ran into, since it was a 3 to 1 odds. He got hella unlucky, and focused the only DS survivor. For 3 gens. I don't know man, after the first gen done at 0:25, that'd be my first red flag/alarm. Esp after I got the 1st hit on her at 0:35, thats when I'd decide to rotate & pressure. Yes she would have most likely gotten back on the gen and continued injured, but its better than leaving 3 other survivors to work gens w/o any pressure. I think it could have been handled a lot better. It wasn't, killer felt like it was unfair and posted the thread. I know damn well if he rotated, he wouldn't be using the 'it lasted 2m 26seconds' reasoning. I just dislike the fact the dude didn't even try. Its not like Freddy doesn't have map control or mobility.

Meh I suppose my views are different. The killer throwing the entire match to facecamp me after I spent the entire match getting chased and all the gens being done is rewarding enough for me because I find it hilarious and satisfying.

Oh thats something we can agree on, haha. I think being camped and the killer slashing at me while on hook is satisfying.

But that wasn't my point or the OP's I don't think. I have no problem with the facecamping, my disappointment comes when not 1 survivor tries to help me and just wants to escape despite everything I've done for the team overall. I play at red ranks and I'm just confused when this happens. The killer won't be rolling NoED, there's no real danger esp with 3 survivors at full HP, but they'll all leave regardless. Seen it numerous times.

I'll say, when survivors come back for you at end game, and coordinate to take a hit for you or someone else saving you, it does mean a lot and feel really good. Feels like everyone understands the risk=/reward gameplay and I definitely respect it more vs the teammates who just want easy escapes and not to deal with any challenges.

What would have changed? He´d break the chase at 2 gens done. 3rd gets done while he tries to find out where to go (wild guess, since he didn´t know where the survivors were) and the survivor who he was chasing would have gone back to the gen to use his BNP.

I'm not disagreeing on the outcome. I think 3 out of 4 would have gotten out. But he left the 1 secured kill he could've gotten get off hook (I mean you focused on her for 3 gens, you should probably chalk it up to a loss already at that point, right? Might as well get that 1 kill). I think what gets me is that the dude was laughing all the while gens were being done and didn't even bother to try to rotate. No effort. Just stuck on the Claudette for most of the game, then got mad that the game ended in 2m 26. I know damn well, if he at least tried to rotate, esp as Freddy, he would have prolonged the match.

And he shoulda broke the chase IMO as soon as he injured her at the 0:35 mark. Again the first gen was done at 0:25. She had 10 seconds additionally to waste killer's time. He got the hit and stayed on her. Why?

At least if he rotated, the one thing he couldn't complain about is that the game finished in 2m 26 seconds.

I don't know man, I don't think this is the best evidence is all. Considering how the killer played.

They didn't think that, they knew you were being facecamped so they did gens and left, which is the counter to facecamping as everyone on here would tell you. And it's better to not risk giving the Spirit any more kills than she already didn't deserve.

I understand the counter to it. I think most of us do, like you said. It still doesn't change the fact that you did so much for your team, and they leave you behind w/o a second thought. I've had players with BT leave me behind even though I got 2 gens, 2 hexes, unhooked safely x3. I respect the more riskier plays/players and a lot of survivors, once gates open, feel like thats it. If you don't make it, you don't make it. They don't even bother with trying to help you. And that. That right there, is a really bad feeling when you were the key to success and made it possible for them to leave. I stand with OP on this. The matchmaking really does need an overhaul. I want to play with people who don't waste time, don't play like cowards, don't get insta downed and hooked, etc. Its incredibly unrewarding knowing you did so much but in the end, it didn't even matter (LinkinPark pun :P).

You probably don't speak Spanish. But it rang a bell in his head. He mentioned that several times.

So no, he wasn't tunneling when a normal chase takes more than 80 seconds.

    You're right, I don't. I wish I learned it but I learned French instead.

If he did notice what was going on, why did he stay on 1 survivor for 3 gens? Being aware and still playing like that? Yikes.

Again this wasn't a 'normal' match, if he was aware, he probably had a good idea from the lobby going into the match. And he still played like he had no idea what was going on. I don't know man, that video isn't hard evidence is all I'm saying. He didn't even try to rotate and pressure. He stuck on 1 person for 90% of the match and then got annoyed when he got to scoreboard and saw everything they had brought. If he had at least tried to rotate and pressure, I would be more inclined to agree vs the narrative of 'it wouldnt have made a difference'.

  • A day or 2 ago, I had a challenge where I had to escape via hatch. I loaded up a rainbow map with addons, and an offering to increase chance of it being by shack. We went up against the Doc, it was only 2 survivors left, me and another dude. The other 2 were really bad at chasing so they got caught fast and died early. We had 1 gen left but both of us knew we weren't going to make it b/c the killer player was actually good, knew how to stop loops, etc. I had him chasing me the most, and sometimes even escaped b/c the chase was too long so he'd realize and go focus some one else.

We ended up in a chase b/c he found me, I ran him for a bit and then stumbled upon the lock and then he downed me. He realized I was the one who brought the offering, the rainbow map, was trying to get the hatch. So he picked me up, brought me to hatch, dropped me on it, and then proceeded to chase the last survivor, hooked him to death, and then let me escape with hatch.

It felt really good cause it was my first attempt at the challenge and he didn't have to give it to me. But I think he respected me cause I was the 1 who gave him problems in chases and did a lot of work for the team, so I guess he felt I should escape.

Said thank you very much, appreciated it and it honestly made my night. Very cool dude, whoever he was. Kindness def goes a long way.

  • I swear y'all have ADHD or something. Have some patience. Your match will come. 5m is nothing to complain about.

It plays incredibly well on PS5. 60fps is glorious

Lmao. I wish I got happy about 60fps. If I'm not getting 120+ I'm not happy.

    Anyways, grats on the gift!

  • B/c they find it more fun. At lower ranks, that'll happen. In red ranks, it still happens (lol) but not as frequently. It is very frustrating, esp seeing people play like absolute cowards. But it is what it is. Can't change how people want to play the game.

  • Yea been there. Those games truly do suck. Any game where you do so much for your team, getting 3 gens, running a killer for 3-4 gens, getting multiple totems/hexes, saving teammates 2-3 times, etc. And then they just leave you the first chance they get. Its a pretty bad feeling, ngl.

But you know you did good, they aren't going anywhere with their ranks and even if they improve, they will hit another wall later on.

  • I've also ran into hexed totems that couldn't be cleansed. Like legit, there are some spawns that if your hex is there, survivors can't cleanse it. 99% of the time, IDC what perks you run cause survivors have a good variety as well. But I've also found hexed totems, specifically around tractors, that can't be cleansed at all. There is no button for it, you try every angle you can to get it and you do nothing but waste time, have to just roll with it and move on.

Teamwork, coordination and skill is unexistant in solo q

Its rare, not nonexistent. But when you do get mates who play risky rather than like cowards, it makes a big difference and feels amazing.

  • If you were in a chase for 3 gens, your team should be commending you. Not mad at you for droppin them. Now if you're just droppin them nilly willy as you go while 5 gens are still up and still go down, yea thats very bad (have had teammates do this). But I don't ever go to end game chat and complain about it. I just need better teammates.

Seems like your teammates didn't appreciate what you did/weren't aware. Just speaks to the amount of awareness they have in the end, right? Just ignore em, man.

  • Please bring Jack Baker from RE7 in as a killer. That'd be so awesome.

  • Personally for me, it doesn't matter since Im a solo player. I find SWF a crutch anyways.

In general, I think the game would die down big time, reviews would go overwhelmingly negative, and people would not come back until it was re implemented. Seems a lot of the SWF players consider this a 'party' game and need friends to help them win.

  • Not to mention, console players are looked down upon by a lot of PC players cause its been very apparent that most Dbd console players are not the best. But there's so many of y'all, we gotta cooperate. There's def exceptions to this, cause I have played with good console players. But its so damn rare.

PC Master race is the way. Always has been. Glad to have you join us!

The issue is that 5 minute wait for a 5 to 15 minute game is ridiculous.

I don't find it ridiculous at all. Overwatch has similar que times and the games last 10-15m as well (competitive). I play red rank survivor r1/2 and I always just alt tab to do something while I wait, on average I wait 3-6m for my ques. WoW arenas at high rating take a good 5-8m for que to pop and the matches last 3-5m w/o dampening kicking in (sorry if you arent familiar to WoW but the point still stands). I'm also very patient, I guess. I just find it funny when someone complains about something like this. It could be so so sooooo much worse.

  • Wow a whole 5 minutes? Damn dude. Crazy. Tough life huh? Not 1m, not 2m, 5m for a que?! That is way too long!

Killers can't switch anymore. So his only option would be to dodge.

In the past, survivors asked for penalties for lobby dodging killers.

Killer didn't tunnel. He was having the normal first chase.

Breaking the chase earlier wouldn't have changed the outcome.

There was literally nothing the killer could have done.

You misinterpreted my question; I wasnt asking in terms of switching, but what would you rather play as against that situation. Freddy right?

If you chase a certain survivor for 3 gens, I would say thats tunneling. This wasn't a 'normal' game and this wasn't a 'normal' chase (b/c he did not realize they were gen-rushing). He was having a blast focusing on Claudette, laughing and talking to his chat. How does a gen going off in 25 seconds not ring alarms in your head? Then another at 51 seconds, and still chasing the 1 dude. It may have and may have not changed the outcome, however it would have definitely made the game longer and given him a better chance. He did make mistakes. Just b/c he has 4400+ hours doesn't mean much when he plays like this vs a sweaty SWF gen rush squad, failing to notice every sign of whats was going to happen in lobby/what went on during the game.

I personally look down upon SWF but I am not going to blame them here, especially after seeing that video and how the killer reacted (he didn't even try b/c he didn't realize the situation he was in). 0 Awareness. Then comes here to complain b/c of course he did nothing wrong, right.

  • @Raccoon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1857089#Comment_1857089

    Yeah, for sure.

He played badly because the game became unwinnable less than a minute in.

It was a fast game b/c he wasn't aware. Its not like he went into this game blind.

Sees 4 toolboxes in lobby, thinks no big deal or doesn't realize its a SWF gen rush squad.

1st gen 0:25 - Yea still no big deal.

2nd gen 0:51 - Yea def no big deal or anything.

3rd gen 1:03 - Still joking around, still tunneling Claudette. As unaware as a killer can be.

He had an opportunity to change lobbies, didn't take it. He only teleported after he had hooked Claudette. He might be a good killer majority of the matches he plays, but this one is on him.

  • @Raccoon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1857053#Comment_1857053

" If you saw that, would you go Trapper or Freddy?"

You'd go with whatever killer you're locked into because you can't change in the lobby.

I mean you're missing the point, but ok.

So then re-que if you're aware enough and realize 'maybe this killer isn't going to deal with this situation the best' or you just don't want to deal with SWF gen-rushing.

This guy had absolutely no awareness prior to the match, or even during the match. He could have prevented this game from being 2m 26, he played badly and got penalized for it, then decided it couldn't have been his fault and made a thread here.

  • @Fruchy said:

Game over after 2:26 minutes is unacceptable, no matter how you argue against it.

Just imagine killers like Trapper, you wouldn't even have time to setup some traps.

Sorry, but people saying Freddy played badly and they don't see anything wrong with the match, i cannot take seriously.

It's very easy to adjust game balance nowadays. Just slight changes every week and seeing how they will turn out would help a lot instead of balance reworks only every few months.

For example Commodious Toolbox has 32 Charges and is a green item. Just changing it slightly by reducing charges to 28 or just increase rarity to Purple would help the balance of the game.

If something is too strong you don't have to nerf it into oblivion or always make a complete rework to make healthy changes to the balance of the game.

If SWF come out too strong constantly, maybe reduce the number of perks a SWF Team can use by 1. So everyone can only have 3 Perks. See how it plays out and if the change is bad, you can always revert it.

Its entirely acceptable. He saw 4 survivors in lobby with toolboxes. If you saw that, would you go Trapper or Freddy? That should have been a HUGE clue to this killer that they were SWF and planning to gen-rush, he did not pick up on it. He teleported once and that was only near the final gens being done. And then posts the thread b/c he feels this shouldn't be allowed. The first gen done was at 0:25 mark in the video. No alarms went off in this guy's head. The second gen done came at 0:51 mark in the video. Still laughing, still joking around with his chat, not realizing the situation, still tunneling the injured Claudette. And then people defend him by saying, he's a great killer main and has 4400+ hours in the game, a 2m26 second game is still ridiculous. Yea well that doesn't mean anything when the guy has no situational awareness.

He tunneled 1 survivor for 3 gens, realized too late what happened, lost, and then made a thread about it trying to point fingers and say this is ridiculous. Nah.

  • Yea, gotta go with Oni. Everyone knows when he yells and powers up, its basically a 'oh crap!' moment and someone is very likely to go down. He's incredibly fast, has the 1 hit and his footsteps behind you can be terrifying. Only killer that does it for me.

  • I say GG, gl in NM, and I also commend the killer if he did a really good job. Or if they were merciful with me or a remaining survivor b/c of a disconnect in-game or they thought you deserved to escape b/c of how you played. Etc etc.

I don't ever get toxic, there is no point. The match is over.

  • The only silly exhaust perk I've never liked is Dead Hard. I'm okay with everything else.

This is like saying all the killers that use hexes that slow the game down/make them more powerful, are bad. No, they're just using what they know helps them provide the most pressure.

Killers have their perks and kits just like survivors, so to me, I don't mind.

  • I'm a solo player, I 99% only play survivor and I play at red ranks. My ques are not 15m, let alone 10m. I'd say a more accurate que time, at least for me, is around 4-7m.

  • I do it for

    • altruism points
    • being a distraction or taking a protective hit for another mate
    • giving killer free points
    • I want them to see me leave
    • sometimes Crouch spam b/c of how the killer played
  • Its crazy seeing some people put Twin so low. She has amazing map control, like someone said, her slugging potential is insane and can also babysit gens while keeping people off the farthest gens and focused on staying alive. I agree with most of the other ones.

  • Killer: Nurse, Hag, Oni

Survivor: 99% Shirtless David King, I usually only switch off for challenges/dailies.

  • You need a break then. I personally run Balanced Landing, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time and the 4th is a switch up between a few perks. But I always try to have a build that helps not just the survivors but myself during the trial, while in a chase, or at end game.

I am a rank 1 survivor and have been for awhile now. I don't play perfectly every match, but I do find my teammates being hit/miss very often, however even then, I don't see them running the same build as me. So its hard to relate.

I think you are burned out, need a break - if this is how you truly feel. From a survivor pov, I think a lot of the killers run the same perks, mainly Ruin. But I've also gone against numerous red rank killers who don't use it and still perform, still have intense & close matches.

    Just take a break, man.

    in DELETED Comment by Volcz
  • You're making this out to be bigger than it should be/really is.

Get gates, and exit. If she dies, she dies. Killer is a complete loser and its reportable so keep that in mind for the future. Getting out and finishing the match speeds it up for the player who is locked in the corner as well as for every one else. Just remember to report players like that.

  • @Aneurysm said:

My teammates in solo queue are a nightmare, you should see some of the stupid crap they do.

    - trying to heal me when I'm healing myself. Healing others gets you altruism bp but yourself gets you survival bp, which is harder to get.

    - not even bringing self care to heal themselves (see above) and running around injured like headless chickens

    - letting the killer see them even though if if you just put on dark clothes (you can get these for free by prestiging Claudette) and stay in bushes and behind rocks you can avoid getting hooked. If all four did this no one would ever be hooked.

    - constantly repairing gens. If you watch killer gameplay, you'll know the killer can actually see the aura of all gens, all the time, without perks! (honestly a bit OP). Going near them is a guaranteed way to get caught.

    - not even knowing how to use pallets. Just running around and around them in circles. Just stand in front of them and throw them when the killer gets near. This isn't a fairground ride, and watching this from my bush makes motion sick

    - breaking totems. This can be ok for inner strength which is like a bad version of self care, but otherwise it's a waste of time. If the killer has noed there's literally nothing you can do to stop it happening. If you get hit by noed the best thing you can do is post in here and tag all the devs so they know there's an issue with this perk.

Any of you also having problems with stupid teammates?

As a rank 1 survivor main, I will tell you this right now - I disagree with literally every point you made and I only solo que.

  • As a red rank 1 surv, I can agree. I feel bad for the lower ranked killers we go up against cause we can usually beat them, at least with a decent team of people. But I also have had really bad red rank teammates that play like rank 10s and above, so it goes both ways. MMR doesnt exist, so sometimes you get placed with people all the way up to rank 19 and are just confused. I solo rank btw, I find it personally more rewarding but I know a lot of people like talking in disc with friends. As a solo player, I see these problems and just question the devs.

  • Oni is def my favorite. I think he's incredibly terrifying, everyone knows hell is about to break loose when you hear him power up, he's incredibly fast, his footsteps sound like mini earthquakes when you're being chased, like a behemoth is behind you, and his lore is awesome and relatable.

  • Can't really relate. I've been at rank1 for a bit now as survivor, and I solo que 100% of the time. Love the game. I don't experience 10 back to back losses, or 10 wins in a row. I win some, I will lose some. It also depends on the teammate quality you get. I've had rank 2-4s who have made r17-19 mistakes and costed people their 1st hook, gone down too quick, or just overall didn't do much for the team. I get to endgame scoreboard thinking, oh they must be lower ranked and I'm astonished to find people are red ranks and doing this. But I've also had really intense matches where all 4 of us survivors know what were doing and so does the killer, which usually ends up in a pretty tight match.

The matchmaking system and rank system are both very bad in this game. Its far too easy for people to rank up by doing almost nothing, and then they hit red ranks and realize they're in a tough spot b/c they're playing against better killer mains now, who know how to pressure, not tunnel, not face camp, etc.

  • @Anniehere said:

I bought the game this Christmas and played as a killer only once.

    As the huntress.

Throughout the game, I could not find the survivors. I only found one survivor when they i had only 1 gen left, he was injured but managed to ran away.

When the exit was open, everyone stood there, pressing Ctrl and leaving away as I approached them.

I felt pretty sad. I couldn't find them, I lost them pretty quickly in the chase and at the end of the match they gave a kind of gesture that says "You're really bad, we're already out."

Since then I have stayed as a survivor. I have always loved this role, but at the same time I also want to be in the second role, with the power.

I watched videos, read questions that were all related to the killers in the game. And I came to the conclusion that the they are getting hate.

I want to play as a killer but a nice killer, who gives an easy "life" to survivors sometimes. but I'm afraid of the attitude I'm going to get from the survivors. because I'm not good as a killer.

I want to play as The spirit and The legion, but to tell you the truth, I have no confidence to play as killer because of what happened.

I know it will probably take me a lot of games until I get used to it and find survivors. But until then.. how do I deal with mean survivors?

I wouldn't read too much into things. I ctrl spam as well in a lot of my games, even sometimes to my survivor mates, its all in good fun. I always say gg to the killer at the end, if it was a good match and intense. Even if he doesn't get anyone, I still say GG. If I die at the end, I still say GG. I wouldn't treat everything as an insult unless they're ya know.. actually insulting you at end-game chat.

  • I'd def lower Huntress to B tier, Demogorgon as well. Demogorgon can have his portal sealed pretty fast to halt his map control, where as Twin gets smashed and respawns incredibly fast to continue their map control. Huntress is very predictable, they rely on you dropping pallet for easy throws, sometimes they have very good aim at a distance but even then, I find myself dodging the throws a lot more than they are hitting. Just IMO.

  • Not reading all that, but no. Def not a requirement. I don't even use it and I'm at r1. I also only que solo.

Adrenaline, Balanced Landing (my goto exhaust perk) are higher prio to me than anything else. BT also ensures safe unhooks which just helps your entire team and you get easy points. Inner Strength gives you the ability to heal up, Iron Will can save you a lot of times too when injured and trying to get to the gates w/o being seen.

  • @Chrisko said:

Between the killers camping and hapless and selfish survivor teammates its a sad state currently...in Solo Q.

I solo que 99% of the time, been holding rank1 and I usually get saved both times. Think its just at low rank that this happens, and even if it does, you should still be able to climb. If I'm able to come back after taking 2 in a half months break, climb from 19 down to 1 all solo, everyone else can too. Yes you're going to have really bad teammates most of the time, focus on objectives, totems, saving people. Do your part. Too many players I've noticed, would rather hide and crouch around than do anything in terms of points.

  • At high ranks, the trash talk is minimal. I've had very few endgame chats at r1, 2, 3, and 4 but at the lower ranks, I can def see that being a problem as everyone thinks they did enough, are good, etc so ego just explodes and they need to let it out. I don't think anyone deserves to experience the racists/homophobes/personal attacks, but like I said, it does slim down quite a bit. Or I've just gotten incredibly lucky with the last 40-50 matches.

  • Things like:

    • teammates going down instantly, as soon as the match starts, give or take a few seconds
    • running killer for a long time, finally gets you and puts you on hook, only for you to realize not 1 of your teammates is doing anything other than slow walking or running around
    • ' only for you to realize 2 of your mates are hiding in lockers while the other one is being chased
    • reacting incredibly slowly to situations, for example saving someone on hook while killer is distracted w/ another chase, or healing someone up whose still in the dying state but was left there b/c killer got distracted w/ someone else
    • teammates being blind to whats around them (like ghostface, jigsaw, or myers, who then proceed to get easy kills)
    • not healing after safely unhooking

The matchmaking system is just really bad. I've been paired with r7,8,9 all the way to 18s when I'm a rank1 survivor. Getting to the scoreboard and realizing 'oh this makes so much more sense now' sucks when you did 3 gens, cleansed 2 hexes, safely unhooked x3 and still couldn't win b/c of bad survivor teammates. I really wish there was an MMR, so people could get punished more, and be in their appropriate games. Sadly I don't think that will ever come b/c these devs don't seem to care. If they haven't added it by now, fat chance they do so anytime soon.
