Not really. Its just a game. Aint going to take it that seriously and get triggered off the stupidest of things.
-
Probably, yea. There's no game in this genre like it. The closest is VHS, HSH, and ..Propnight. Just knowing this features iconic killers and is supposed to be more in line with the horror theme would intrigue me. Just like the first time, lol.
I'd also have no memory like you said, about all the negatives that come with this game. So..I'd only be excited/interested.
-
Yea I've noticed it too, made me take a break yesterday lol. Will see how it goes today.
-
Bubba, Pig, Myers, Huntress, Billy, Trapper, Blight, Oni, Demo, Pinhead..
Probably easier to just say every killer except for Nurse, Trickster & Twins.
-
"Our Easy Anti Cheat is also constantly being updated to remove cheats like this and people are banned (contrary to popular belief), it's unfortunately a never ending circle however, because people constantly update their cheats and bypass the system, then the EAC is updated again for that, and then over and over."
I'm sorry, its very hard to believe you when you guys just recently replied to an article about DDoSing and a streamer being swatted, stating that 'players are the highest importance' but you guys refuse to post anything about it on Twitter or a PSA anywhere for that matter. Your EAC is a joke, just like your report system. Your system literally only logs the pre game and end game lobby chats, you have no way of recording gameplay for individual matches and thus put the responsibility on people to provide video proof. And I know for a fact many hackers do not get banned for months despite 'evidenced video proof'.
Again, very hard to believe a company like BHVR regarding anything to do with cheaters/hackers.
EDIT: I see there's a PSA out on the forums now regarding this, so thank you (Mandy or whoever was responsible for doing that)!
-
Interesting to see so many people dislike Bubba in here. For me its a small list.
Nurse (but it largely depends on the player's skill - talking about the god tier Nurse mains out there).
Trickster because he's just a boring killer to go against and his counter is ridiculous. You can dodge a Huntress hatchet which takes skill and timing to land but the same counterplay doesn't exist with 40 spammable knives.
Twins because I just find the playstyle very boring to go against.
-
Your report is useless if you didn't include video proof. But yes, it is bannable.

Lol. I said what they did was wrong did I not?
Ok then don't report just don't dc and wait more than you had to if you did.
What he did makes zero sense. He wasn't held hostage in the game and he dc'ed.
Game without dc penalty would be unplayable for solo q. So go ahead remove it.
No one wants to be put in a match where 3 of your teammates do nothing but grief/sandbag/try to piss you off. And theyre on your 'team'. Esp if the killer cooperates with them. Why would you stay in that lobby? Yea he obviously took advantage of the D/C mechanic to avoid more frustration and paid for it by having to wait more and more, but that doesn't mean his reason was illegitimate. I'm not saying he's innocent, but reporting does practically nothing because there is no video proof. The actual match isn't logged in their system. There is no footage to review for the BHVR team or whoever is responsible for checking reports. I wouldn't remove the D/C penalty, as I am a strict solo survivor as well, but I do think it needs a hell of a lot of tuning to match other games. Replay footage should be accessible to the BHVR team but the problem is, they are lazy and don't want to assign people to deal with that.
Again, you are right. What they did was wrong. Do I think the only reason for D/cing is 'being held hostage in a match?' No. There's other reasons too. The OP shouldn't be surprised at his/her penalty but at the same time, I can't fault them for leaving in a situation like that.
-
@Shaped said:
What about previous dc's? Teammates griefing too?
It is always people who dc often that make these threads.
While what they did was wrong, you could have waited it out and report them. Then you wouldn't have to wait 15 mins. Just a few.
You did it yourself.
Reports do nothing, you should know that by now. The system only logs the pre game lobby chat and end game lobby chat. That is why hackers take weeks if not months to get banned. Most people do not record their games because ...why would the average person do that? They just want to log on and enjoy Dbd. Also, whats the point of staying in a game when people actively grief you on your own team, and you know you haven't done enough to pip/let alone black pip. Yes the OP is at fault for disconnecting often to the point of getting a 15m penalty, but lets not act like he's the Devil when other people ruin the match and its outside of his control.
You got 3.3k posts, you should have a decent clue about how the report system works..but you don't.
-
It goes both ways. I've seen red rank 1s that play like low tier absolute garbage players, hiding and crouch walking, setting up boons over doing gens, being awful in chases, snowballing the game for the killer, waiting around not doing anything just to dive bomb a hook unsafely, etc. Its very clear these are the same people who SWF to red ranks and then think they're great players.
But there's also genuinely good players at red ranks of course.
And same can be said for killer although thats a lot less 50/50 since they rely on their own skill/playstyle and don't have teammates to back them up or even have comms.
-
Deception and Fixated are amazing perks. People under utilize or don't realize their full potential. The amount of times they've saved me in chases or simply even with killers just coming to a gen to find someone, and you're just outpacing them around a rock, they don't see anyone and leave (lol) so you simply just get back on the gen.

@lavars said:
They haven't said ANYTHING about hackers, not that they see the reports and handle it (i mean i know the reactions, but it would be something). Not that they investigate claims, not even a sentence like "we are aware of the problem but can assure that..." literally nothing
Reports don't do anything about the hackers most of the time because they require video proof. Saw an interview with the guy who created the mainstream hack you see so many use in DbD today and explained how it works and why hackers get away for weeks if not months (its since been deleted as I can't find it anymore - I'd love to reference it for people cause it explains a lot). With the way the system is set up, the system does not have saved replays of individual matches, they have the pre-game lobby chat and end-game lobby chat, thats it.
Most people are not streaming or recording their games, they see a hacker and press the 'thumbs down' at end-game lobby, fill out the report and move on. Until they fix their entire report system, things won't change sadly.

Welcome to Dead by Daylight, bro!
-
Elden Rings coming out in a few months.
Lost Ark coming out late March/April.
Dying Light 2.
Games like Dbd? Sorry no.
-
I laughed pretty hard at this with my coffee in hand. Thank you.
$10 is not a lot and if it means that much to you, to the point of making a thread asking for a giveaway, you will buy it like everyone else. Otherwise accept you will never have it and move on. There won't be a giveaway.
-
There was a vid on youtube that I'm trying to find again for this thread, where a guy essentially interviews the creator of a well known/popular hack that you see most using. Why they do it, how to counter it, how they get into targetted specific people's lobbies everytime (like streamers, despite covering the screen, putting a delay on, changing your name, etc).
He explains the anti-cheat DbD uses, and also why the report system is broken and doesn't work. Most hackers have multiple accounts and can even have their accounts not be banned for months. There's also a well known website that sells Steam accounts with DbD attached to it, for anywhere between $2-10. So even if they do get banned, they simply get a new account and continue onwards.
The ultimate reason they created these hacks and now they run rampant is because they want to force BHVR to actually do something about this, and until then, they will continue to improve the hacks, spread the hacks. If BHVR doesn't do anything about it, then thats their fault and the hackers couldn't care less (keep in mind this is an interview with the creator of the hack). So this is just his stance and why he created it for DbD.
If I find the video, I will link it here. It explains a lot (if I'm allowed).
-
First game today, got into a lobby with 2 hackers that were at red rank 1. Versus a Hag. They had every hack imaginable, even making me look like a hacker because anytime the Hag hit me, I was insta healed. They brought flashlights to be even bigger douches. The anti-cheat is a joke.
-
You're either trolling or just incredibly bad. I play strictly solo survivor and I escape quite a bit (just like many others have stated).
-
Check out Sennheiser headsets. Quality and I've had mine for the past 3 years.
Although I am in the same boat as Mandy, I don't use the microphone (even though its good) as I have an AT2020+ mic. But its a great backup.
-
If you're that guy on the team who lets the killer 2hook/kill everyone on your team while you don't take a single hook, you shouldn't be mad at the end result when you need saving and there's nobody to help you. Take pressure off your team or accept what happens when you're alone.
-
The perks are fine.
-
AFK players? Really? Thats what this is about? I've experienced none of that but lots of cheating/hackers.

I've seen several survivors struggle to second stage, try too kill themselves, get saved, and then just run at the Killer.
Ok and? They obviously don't want to be in the match any longer. You saving them isn't going to change that, if anything you get some altruism points for yourself. But if someone is not enjoying themselves, they should be able to get out and into another match.
-
Can't say I feel bad for all the Spirit mains. Had a spirit player quit out because of the blink glitch and she couldn't catch anyone. Went to end-game chat to complain about it. When I have to deal with 2 out of 4 matches against Nurses, or 3 games in a row against Nurses, my empathy is null and void. In the same way, I don't really mind if there are less Spirits because it shows that people only played her because she was insanely strong and pretty damn easy.
I do feel more for the Slinger mains as he wasn't a strong killer to begin with, he was mid-tier and had 0 gen pressure and now..well. Ya know.
-
Most people aren't doing gens or they're rage quitting/killing themselves on hook.
I had to take a break tonight. Played over 7 matches and in 6 of them, had potato teammates who dive bombed hooks, snowballed their team, didn't touch gens, etc.
Awful night (for me).
-
Just ignore.
I know a very popular streamer who always made fun of any player that brought Undying + Ruin + Tinkerer, let alone just the 2 hexes.
He then swapped to killer for a whole week or so, and realized very quickly that if he wants to do decently well or give himself a fighting chance against good teams on mediocre killers, then he has to bring them too. I remember he got destroyed on Nemesis and then brought the super tryhard build that he makes fun of killers for when hes on survivor. He still got destroyed with them. Now he's back to survivor queing and back to calling players bad for running Undying + Ruin. Go figure lol.
You can't win with some people and self awareness eludes them.

There's like 10+ threads in Technical Issues. You know, where people have issues that are technical. Like this.
They're working on it.
Edit: Fixed for me, try logging in now.

Currently sitting in a loading screen.
edit; was a 10m load screen, 2 people d/c'd by the time we all loaded in. Fun game.

Is it this post ? https://i.redd.it/4542p8lqtvr71.png
If yes, everything makes sense then. We can see the puzzle.
DbD quitting steam to go on Epic store ? 🙄
They followed Epic Games in early october. They knew what they were doing and are completely shameless.
-
Aint spending another penny on this. I sincerely hope they run out of business. Tired of this.
-
Can't be any worse so why not.
-
Guys there's also a new game called The Cycle: Frontier (if you like EFT, youll like it). Its basically a space EFT with 2 giant maps, graphics are smooth and beautiful, you get in, loot up and try to get extracted. Other players are in there with you/AI to challenge you. In closed beta but its pretty impressive for one.
Can request access on steam and they should grant it pretty fast (mine came in only a few hours). Oh and its completely free.
-
DbD goin to Epic Games most likely. DbD twitter is following Epic Game's account now.
-
Not excited per say. But I am glad about the amount of changes coming in. This will be a big update and I hope this isn't just a 1 time thing.
-
Can confirm its valid.
Thanks man!
-
What the heck did I just read?
Bodyblocking ..is bad behavior? What. Thats what a good teammate does.
Run Lethal Pursuer, CI and there ya go. If you complain about a problem and people give you solutions to fix it and you choose not to (because you're stubborn) then continue to play how you have been and not improve. I mean you aren't helping yourself, you aren't taking people's advices so in the end, its all on you.
-
Went against a very suspicious group, 1 of them was clearly a hacker.
At the beginning of the match, David goes down and gets put on hook. Taken off hook as soon as I give them space and he's immediately healed. So I find Nea there and decide to chase her, I finally am about to down her when she goes behind a rock and just...disappears. Her scratch marks led directly to the rock/edge of the map. It was like she ran outside of the map or teleported away. This is all within like the first 5m of the match, and as soon as I lose the Nea behind the rock, 4 gens immediately pop. I go back to defend the remaining gens and see they are 99%. All of them. It was like they were toying with me.
I also saw this in a youtube video where what happened to me happened to this streamer but he caught it in live action a lot better. It was as if the gens were doing themselves, or a ghost.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ece10xgfoi0 -
People that tend to complain about solo being bad are usually not very good players themselves, hence why they go in with SWFs to gain an advantage and call everything out to each other.
I know people who 99% SWF and when they do go solo, it becomes very clear that their 'skill level' had been inflated b/c they were used to SWF for so long. But hey if you prefer it, good on ya. Everyone plays this differently and finds different things fun.
-
Camping/slugging is a viable strat. If it wasn't, people wouldn't do it. Nothing toxic about wanting to win. Unhooking you in front of a killer? Guess someone wants to farm some points or they genuinely don't see what they're doing as a problem. I wouldn't view this as toxic.
Now sandbagging/working with the killer - yea that can be pretty frustrating.
Anyways, seems you made the right choice since everything seems to upset you.
Have a gooood one.

Some people might not enjoy it but they might actually use it for frames which are important for gameplay.

I am really bad at evading killer. As soon as I am spotted, I get hit and then knocked down. Sometimes immediately. On Oct 1st seems like all the killers were letting survivors win and I got too high of a rank way past my skill level. Any tips? Thanks everyone.
Its just practice.
At the start of the match when you're about to get on a gen, try to map out any pallets in the vicinity just in case the killer finds you first and that way you won't be caught off guard.
Realizing the strengths and weaknesses of the killer you're going against and using said weaknesses against them - but that comes with just more playtime. Ex. You can lengthen a chase with Leatherface by forcing him to M1 you by playing around windows.
Knowing the difference between weak and god pallets and comboing loops together.
Try not to throw pallets down prematurely, a lot of survivors do that and end up hurting their team the longer the match goes on.
Bring WoO if you have trouble finding pallets during chases. Start getting used to Dead Hard as well as that can reset chases.
-
Playing a lot less. I would average about 50-60 hours in 2 weeks time before. Now I'm around 25-35hrs.
-
Go have a toke and then revisit.
-
Down them and onto the hook! You can stay AFK'd in the end-game lobby :)
& as for killer, just genrush, get out and into the next lobby.
-
Definitely less
-
Keys = auto leave.
If I sense you're in an SWF and you guys are going to be more trouble than good.
Certain names/tags that just give me bad vibes/make me think they will hinder the team.
Default cosmetics are a red flag as well for me.
-
A win for me on survivor side = 2+ people escaping via Gate. I also consider it a win if I end up being a sacrifice so the 3 others can get out. Hatch is considered a win, but only if I did a lot of work/helped my team a lot during the match.
A win for me as killer is simpler. If I can get a 3k, I consider that a win, as I've killed majority of the team.
-
Probably Trapper since I don't play him at all. I'd assume I go against new players with him.
-
I don't teabag spam all too much but I think I will start doing it more since it pisses people with weak mentalities off.
You can't turn off your feelings but you can change your mentality and not associate everything to 'toxicity/insults'.
I wish we can go back to the days when movies like Tropic Thunder came out and had a black man played by a white man and there was no outrage.
-
lol
