I mean its my job to get on gens and get out. Its the killer's job to pressure and keep me/the team off of them. I gen rush typically when I realize my team not working on them or its a very coordinated team + the killer is good too and knows what to do.
There's nothing wrong with gen rushing, its up to the killer to slow that down. Most matches aren't gen rush gogogo squads.
-
Same as you, had really good teammate quality during MMR.
Now back to well, ...this.
-
Demo gonn have a playrate lower than the Plague.
But yea, sad news.
-
Deathslinger and nurse mains.
-
Because theyre generally the ones who will do very little for their team/just want hatch to escape through. Many people see it as a cheap way of 'winning' as well since a lot of people don't think you should be able to escape if gens are still in play.
Its basically a 'F you' to the survivor who brings a key because they're obviously bringing it for a quick escape/at the very least a backup option. And normally, if the player who brings it is smart, he'll drop it somewhere in the map and come back to it when he needs it/if he's still around at end-game. They're not just going to run around with it, lol.
-
Because people would dodge lobbies a lot more frequently if they knew they were playing with greens and yellows.
-
Oni charging towards me with Demon Dash, his footsteps only getting louder as I try to make it to a safe pallet/window.
Meming Myers that can see through walls and right when you round a corner, there he is! Or has no terror radius and round a corner, BAM! Right into his arms.
Thats it though, lol.
-
Sometimes perspective is very different. They see it only from their view. She clearly wasn't a good runner, especially if she ran into you multiple times. Some survivors are also entitled and think you aren't supposed to act on something even though its completely fine to.
Had the Twitch streamer seen it from your perspective, I'm sure they wouldn't think it was tunneling. But just misplay after misplay by the Feng Min friend of theirs. If you can't last 1m or more in a chase versus Legion at the beginning of the game when you have access to every pallet/loop, that just means you haven't learned how to run a killer efficiently yet.
I wouldn't think anything of it. Just seems like they were salty and didn't bother being reasonable, taking a step back and analyzing what actually happened/why it happened.
-
Ehh, I really only see that on these forums. But I also see a lot of killers complain on here.
Go on DBD's reddit and you'll see its 99% killers complaining about survivors there.
-
You knew the location of 3 and just passed on them because of worry about HG? Yikes.
Cleanse them all. Especially when you are worried its HG but the timing works out (like if the killer is in a chase w/ someone and has just injured them). You should never leave a Hex up just because of HG.
-
For me, its 100% Hag. Haven't seen her in 1 month minimum. Which is odd, cause she's so powerful in the right hands.
Pig I still see, especially since people play her sometimes just for the daily.
Besides Hag, I'd say Plague.
-
DbD is a casual game but just because its a casual game, doesn't mean it can't be competitive for people. Fun is defined by each person differently. Some people enjoy the tryhard aspect of it and hate the goofing around, while others are the exact opposite. Its really up to the person playing.
I personally find the game more fun when I'm trying to win but so is the killer/survivors I go against. So I guess I would fall under the 'competitive' category even though this is a pretty casual game that comes with a lot of frustration.
Its not a BR where you have to rely on mechanical skill (for the most part) or a game like Dota/LoL.
-
I've got 80 on Meg (my main surv) that I'm just saving. No incentive to use them, especially when everyone has the minset to 'save/hoard' theirs.
-
Bring gen slowdown perks if you aren't.
Also Corrupt Intervention is really useful because it forces every survivor to come towards you and not just hop on the nearest gen to them when they spawn in.
Don't take too long on chases, if you realize its taking too long, just injure them and go focus on pushing people off gens. Most of the time, survivors will want to heal before they get back on a gen (or risk being on it injured and going down very fast) so keeping the pressure on them to heal will only keep them off gens longer and give you some wiggle room.

I don't know if it's enough to call a problem yet, but I've had 2 solo queue matches close together where I had another survivor intentionally try to sell me out, even though I was constantly contributing.
First was against Myres, early in the match, another survivor was about to get hooked so I jumped into a locker to cover for BBQ just in case. Just after, a survivor I know was not in line of sight came by not being chased, drops a pallet and vaults back and forth a few times, then tries to climb in my locker well before the killer gets there, then proceeds to do so over and over until the killer arrived and then did so again in front of them.
2nd was against Wraith. Midgame 2-3 gens done, while working on a gen with another survivor near the killer shack, we hear the heartbeat getting close and break off, so I jump in a locker again just before the killer arrived and the other survivor was found and hit. They then looped the shack 2-3 times, stopping every time to spin in front of the locker I was in.
These were not Point Farming matches.
I was constantly contributing to objectives.
I was not sitting in the lockers for any unreasonable length of time.
Does/have anyone have trouble with this?
Yup. Happened to me just 2 days ago on Red Forest versus a r1 Nurse. Did 3 gens, 2 saves, 2 totems. Saved the Nea who got hooked in shack basement and by the time I saved her, the Nurse had hooked the Dwight pretty much right outside shack, so I ran up, she hit me and I decided to trade hooks for Dwight. I went down, managed to crawl away from her, only for her to jump on the Jane who then brings the Nurse over to me and teabags before running off.
Dwight and Jane die at 2 gens left, the Nea completes 1 and I complete the final gen right as the Nurse gets to the gen. I then realize the Nea is emoting and motioning the killer over to me and I'm just like ??? I saved you and this is the sh*t you pull? When we could possibly both have gotten out? Well I run and mindgame the Nurse for about 2m, while Nea is trying to bodyblock me from pallets and windows. I even lose the Nurse again with Deception and then hop in another locker. Right when Head On activated, she opened the locker. Hooked me and died. & then she gave the Nea the hatch.
Told the killer I'd report them and they laughed and said go ahead! They knew nothing would happen bc the in-game report is a joke.
I'll never understand killers/survivors that play like that. Like you must let things bother you so much, lol. I wasn't even angry, I was just confused and felt bad for them.

Frowned upon by SOME survivors. Not most. Fixed it for you. I have plenty of survivors who come in after the game and just say GG. And say they understand why killers need to tunnel sometimes.
I'm not talking about situational tunneling, especially mid-to late game. I'm talking about killers who do it right off the bat as soon as a game starts (they usually end up losing the match because of it too). And yes, its frowned upon by most. I say GG too or understand why it happens in specific situations but that doesn't mean its not frowned upon and/or a sh*t feeling.
-
Its not against the rules, its just frowned upon by most.
-
There's absolutely no point to bring Self-Care when you can bring a brown medkit with Gel Dressing or a yellow med-kit with brown bandages (so you get 2 heals instead of 1). Its faster, it doesn't take up a perk slot, and you can use it however you want (on yourself or a teammate).
-
I actually don't mind it as much as others seem to.
Just yesterday I ran a red rank Doc around Badham after he had killed 2 people already, Ruin was still up (I ended up cleansing it) and the other player was on death hook. Was at least a 5m chase and I ended up winning every mind game (was running Deception and a full Head On build), which messed with him quite a bit. I had gotten the gen to 60% and after running him around the entire map once, realized the Bill wasn't even working on the gen. Figured he was just waiting for me to die to get hatch. I said oh well, and kept going. Eventually Bill woke up and realized he could work on a gen and got it done. He ended up opening the gates just as I got to him and we both managed to get out. Came out with a 30k score and a 2pip. Was a really satisfying match because the others just couldn't run the killer at all, and kept going down repeatedly but I ended up bringing the match back for the Bill & I.
Although there are a lot of frustrating matches with boosted red ranks who only got there because of altruism farming and SWFs, I also feel like Solo is my favorite experience because its just 4 strangers w/o voice comms that have to coordinate and play well together to make it out (usually).
Also I always say this but solos should be bringing Kindred (and yes, I've had teammates those teammates too that don't take advantage of it). Its a big help for you and its a big help for your team overall.
Just tons of bad players. I was agreeing with most of your post until you got to the 'I cant recall escaping in solos unless through hatch'. If you can't recall escaping in solos through EG, I'd say you're probably part of the problem too.
-
Almost every avid Dbd player considers it as a form of cheating but you're right, its a blurred line because its neither enforced or against the rules.
I will never agree with anyone who says its for performance or viability. You can run this game on a GTX 900 series on all low settings and still be fine, you're using it for an advantage and you don't want to admit it so you use this excuse to shield accusations and appear innocent when you're not.

Nowhere did I say a killer has to do anything. What I asked is why are killers camping end game so much more lately.
Is it because the skill level has decreased?
What do you want them to do? And its not 'much more lately'. They legit have no reason to leave the hook. If they know you got EG powered or EGC starts and they leave, they only hurt themselves. They have no idea where all the other survivors are, if theyre close and just waiting, or far away and running back. A kill or 2 is better than 0 kills altogether. You can't blame them for it. They are counting on the teammates to come back and try to save. You call them mediocre/low skilled but thats just the smart play. You asking this question shows you have no idea what you're talking about and you're just mad.
Anyways, you got your answer. G'day sir.

Just do not play killer until the devs do something to fix how buggy the new detection system is.
I stopped cause I am sick of getting stunned by pallets when I am several feet away from them. Literally not close enough to kick it but close enough to get stunned apparently.
Good luck with waiting it out. Survivors went through this hell for years. Welcome to the club!

Can confirm this as well. Just had a match on Ormond vs a Trickster player who was a R1. He facecamped everyone on hook and at the end only managed to get 1K. We deranked him. Glad I'm not bringing cakes.
-
I mainly stopped using mine because others are being selfish as well. I gave it a chance and realized a lot of mates are using personals majority of the time, most of the time killer is as well. So I decided to only use a stacking cake if
- the entire team is kitted up with items
- I get a good feeling about the team
- At least one other person on PC
- No keys brought
Only when all 4 are met do I risk bringing a cake now for the team/killer.
Seems most people are relying on others for it though, so I doubt I'll be bringing mine anytime soon unless I recognize a big difference today.

Lets easily debunk your entire argument:
- you need an average of 15 million BP right now to get all the perks, meaning you could need a specific perk for a build that you cannot unlock untill one of the last ones.
- the average BP gain for survivors is terrible
- even though I sat on the hook the entire game, I was the reason the killer never left the hook. I should be rewarded for that, rather than being punished for it.
- Being facecamped already sucks, no reason to throw more dirt in their face by giving them no BP. I was important enough for the killer to dedicate 2 whole minutes in my face, that means I earned that BP.
- Oh boo hoo, those 0.001% of players who sandbag compared to the 5% of players getting facecamped. Better not compensate 5% of the playerbase because who knows what the 0.001% of the playerbase might do with that bp :O
- killers who play like this, gain more bp than the person getting facecamped.
Face it, the BP gain is already pretty meaningless, that selfcaring claudette wont know what to do with her BP anyway.
And no, I've actually kept track of people playing like that. Including green and purple ranks, it's 0.23%. Most of them being green rank console players.
Dont punish a big part of the community for the actions of a tiny percentage. Or do you want Pig's reverse beartraps to no longer trigger if you're close to a box? That would prevent a tiny percentage of pig players to prevent playing amanda's letter and last will while bodyblocking 1 box, by punishing the larger portion of pig players.
It's simply not good game design. Besides, you can easily reduce the BP based on teamplay. It's much better to start out with a general survivor pool and then adjust accordingly, than punish players who have looped a killer for 5 generators and are facecamped on hook with only 8k bp.
- Not my problem, take it up with BHVR.
- Yes its horrible. And ?
- No the killer never left the hook because he counted on super altruistic teammates to come and save you, resulting in a 2-4k instead of a 1k. If we dial down to the root cause of you being on hook, just don't get caught and downed. Punish the killer long enough that your entire team gets 2-3 gens done.
- Most killers do not face camp. Because they give up gen pressure and a good team of survivors will realize the situation and punish the killer for it. You're also again ignoring the other situation which is giving bad players BP that don't earn it.
- You realize good killers don't actually face camp right? You talking about the 0.001% of players who are useless and grief their team versus the 5% that get facecamped? Lol, bring some stats/evidence to those claims. There are PLENTY more useless teammates even at red/purple ranks than there are face campers. But again, you ignore the downside to your solution because it doesn't matter to you. Cry me a river.
- They also lose quite quickly if against a solid team of survivors because only bad ones will be super altruistic and snowball their team into defeat rather than adapting and punishing the killer. Again, bad players =/ deserving the BP.
- You say you have stats (0.23%, most being green ranks) but I can make up numbers too and pass them off as statements of facts pal.
- You still have not proposed any solution to bad players being rewarded, and the simple answer why is because you don't care if they get rewarded as long as you get yours.
- Your solution is flawed, you seem to only care about whats happening in your games against YOU, when you're not looking at the whole picture objectively. Your only solution benefits you/the guy being facecamped. There is no drawbacks according to you.
Nah homie, if you aren't going to punish bad players for weak ass decisions, you're only going to incentivize them to keep playing like that because they know they'll make the 20-30k BP per match. They can do whatever they want.

Why do you care how much BP your teammates get? Especially in a fictional video game lol. I could understand if it's your friends, but a stranger?
I could be pissed at a teammate for playing poorly but I could give jack ######### how much BP they got, it's really not that deep.
Because I solo que for the most part and I don't want bad teammates being rewarded. Its really that simple. In the same way you ask me this question, why does someone who gets facecamped deserve a minimum of 20-25k BP? Why does that matter and why is that the deciding factor to use your cake or not?
When I play with friends, its custom games to screw around because SWF is a joke and I don't feel like pulling that s* in a public lobby. If you want to be rewarded for being camped to death, and then ignore the bad players who actually don't deserve anything more than what they get (a depip and low amount of BP), all it really says is you want a solution for yourself while the other problem keeps happening. Why reward bad players? Whats to stop them from playing like that when they can do nothing all game and still get a decent amount?

Again, if you are capable of gaining 25k with your teammate not doing #########, you're an absolute powerhouse of a survivor team that can face a killer in a 3v1.
And making it a pool doesnt mean you dont get solo points. If a blendette survives it to the end without doing anything, she would lose a pip.
It's not that big of an issue. And yeah, a survivor pool is literally the ONLY WAY to give someone who is being facecamped enough bloodpoints to be worth it.
I mean, seriously, you're literally complaining that rewarding survivors who are being facecamped and tunneled with extra bp is bad, because of that 0.001% amount of immersive blendettes.
#########, that's like complaining about the current event, because it will give those players 2x more BP.
Being a powerhouse and carrying a useless survivor isn't what I want to do though. This isn't a 3v1, this is a 4v1 game. I aint bout rewarding people who do jack [BAD WORD] all game but hide, or just farm hook saves for easy point while doing nothing else.
Yea but a blendette should depip as well as gain very little BP. I'm sorry but you seem to be entitled to the idea that facecamping should give you 20-25K BP minimum when...you sat on a hook? Why exactly do you think you deserve 20-25k for that? Why are you focusing on that and ignoring the other factor which is rewarding bad players with extra BP they shouldn't get?
I mean seriously, your whole point around sitting on a hook and being facecamped rewarding you BP is an excuse to ignore the other downside to your proposed solution. You will of course want your solution passed because it benefits you while you downplay/ignore the negatives to it. Its not 0.001% lol, there's plenty of players that pull that [BAD WORD] at purple/red ranks.

The game is fun. And it would be so much better if people actually wouldnt be toxic. So ofc it ruins the game?
It really shouldn't. Like I said, mentality.
-
I think you're just too sensitive and if teabagging really 'ruins the game' for you, maybe step away from the game and go play Roblox or something. Mentality matters and if you attribute everything to toxicity, you're going to have a bad time. I've teabagged and been teabagged against. Doesn't mean much. Say GG or GG WP! and move on. Shouldn't ever let 1 match ruin your mood.
-
Oni is like the 1 killer that gives me the OH **** vibes, when he unleashes his power and screams.
& watching him charge to you from across the map is also really awesome yet scary.
I'd say try picking him up or Phead/Demo.
-
Ahh yes, the killers coming out in droves about this. While survivors have dealt with this for YEARS. Do I feel bad for you? Hell no.
But grats on the bet win and the auric cells. :)
-
You seem to think there's this code where if you do this and that, then the other side should acknowledge and act in an appropriate way. If you open a gate and go AFK, thats on you. The match hasn't technically ended, the match is still going. Take the few seconds to force them out. Or do what the 1 guy said and go break pallets/doors if you really don't want to deal with them. This isn't changing anytime soon so strap in, put those big boy pants on and either deal with it or do something about it. A forum post isn't going to change how survivors play.

I mean, that happens, but that survivor who wasnt able to do anything at all because they were camped and tunneled on hook would also get 25k.
Survivors are a team effort, it makes sense that points and emblems are based around that team effort. If Claudette survives long enough to get 25k by doing absolutely nothing, that means you didnt need her anyway.
That doesn't seem right. If you do no work for your team, your BP should reflect that. Doing gens and progressing the game is definitely a team effort but you can choose to get out with your team or by yourself. So because you get tunneled and camped out, you want the 25k minimum, while a Claudette or Urban Evasion Nea get rewarded for ...what exactly? I'm fine with how it is, it can be improved but making it so ANYONE gets a good amount of BP, no matter how little they do for the team, isn't the right way to go about it IMO.
-
PHead, Bubba, Oni, Huntress.
-
There was also a mod that turned bear traps/Hag traps pink so you never had to worry about them.
There's always a group of people that take it too far looking for actual gameplay advantages and ruin it for everyone else. I will admit, seeing Spongebob or even AmongUs characters in this game was funny as hell.
-
Accused of holding the game hostage for an hour when the game was 10-15m long by a killer who ended up teaming up with a useless teammate that did very little all game who led the killer to me, and then died right after I did (I did the only 3 gens, 2 unhooks and a hex).
I just laughed, gave them both a report and then moved on.

For me Hag is the 2nd least played killer I versus against. She is top tier as well. I could kind of see her being boring to play as though, so maybe not a lot of people like playing her even if she is strong.
A lot of killer mains hate the 'setup' that some killers like Trapper and Hag have to do. You essentially have to take time out of early game to put traps down and sacrifice a bit of pressure for it and hope it pays off later on during the match. Lots of people consider Hag A tier and she's incredibly strong in terms of basement hooks.
I just find it crazy that I have not gone against one in at the very least a month.
-
I mean yea, they don't happen often. But I also don't have horrible matches MOST of the time either, unless I play at night time and teammate quality drops heavily/matchmaking opens up to lower ranks. I mean there's no reason a rank 1/2 should be paired with a rank 19 at any point. Daytime is when I find the better teammates. I still get bad matches/bad teammates but I'd say my games go pretty normally for the most part.
SWF inflates your ego and makes you think you're better than you actually are. This game was designed around solo que, SWF was only added because the community asked for it. Once it was added, people realized very quickly how cheap and unfair it is but still engage in it because its 'fun' to play with friends and this after all is a casual game. I don't SWF mainly cause I don't find it fun to get a win over a killer. I'll do custom games with friends and screw around but its not like were bringing an SWF sweat alpha 6 team to public lobbies and toying with the killer.
& yea, a lot of people have recommended Kindred being baseline in solo que and that would go a long way by itself. But this is also BHVR were talkin bout, lol.
-
Because I don't know how good or bad you are. Sometimes I'll use a cake for everyone but no one else will. Sometimes I'll use a cake and the game will have d/cs. Sometimes I'll use a cake and have a camping killer or who slugs everyone. Sometimes I'll use a cake and find out my teammates are just straight up, bad and can't stay alive even with people helping them. Eventually I get to the point of just bringing personals because why benefit others when there is so much uncertainty?
I don't SWF, I'm strictly a solo que player. I still use them but its a lot more rare now.
-
All solo que players should run Kindred. Help those teammates out that are playing very immersed and can't read situations well (and its just overall such a strong perk).
There are A LOT of boosted players in this game, mainly because SWF gives them a fake sense of superiority over the killer, so when they do try to solo que, they lack all that information they'd normally get. And I mean..if you're in red ranks and you're going down in less than 20 seconds, you're just a bad runner. Especially at the start of the match when you have every pallet at your disposal. Theres people at red ranks as well that just don't do gens, its as if they're allergic to it. Not surprisingly, its the same ones who are bad at running a killer most of the time.
Solo que can be frustrating and it is, but its also 100x more satisfying having a good match where you and the 3 strangers all coordinate w/o comms, its like everyone is on the same page, we share hooks, we don't run the killer near the hooked person or a gen that is over 70% done, we take protection hits, we all split up and focus gens/spread pressure, etc. Those games are very fun.
-
Gotta be Hag. No one touches her. I get more Hillbilly and Plague than I do her.
I don't think I've ran into a Hag in the last month. Not exaggerating one bit. Which is crazy, since she is incredibly strong if played correctly.

I don't get what it is tonight, but I think some people who have been playing need to drink some water and ease up. I can't tell you how many games I've played tonight (Generally in a casual 4-2 man SWF, with the 4 and 3 man having a genuine new player) have been against red ranks who stack 2 or more gen regression perks and will absolutely annihlate us before we hit the 3 gen mark while we're just trying to meme or play around. (Bonus points if they brought a mori.) And I know it's the same on the otherside with Killers, with Survivors that will absolutely eat gens and would rather see their friends die on first hook then not pop gens. (Again, bonus points for BNP.)
But like... yeesh, how about we consider easing up a little? Like, we all know bad it feels to be annihlated on either side, so... why push that same feeling onto other players?
Seriously, if the game is already pretty much set to be a W for you, there's no reason why either side can't ease up and at least try to give the other side a chance to recover or at least get more BP- whether it be giving the Survivors a little time to recoupe, reset and try and get a little gen progress, or giving the Killer a hook or two (or heck, even just doing side objectives to give them more time).
Idk, I'm just saying, I think a lot of folks seem to forget that it's just a game, and there's no reason not to ease up and just try to do some goofy stuff for fun, especially if you know you're already bringing home a win.
You're asking players to play less serious/dumb down their playstyle/be worse than they are..because you lose too often against them?
This is like asking an FPS player to play worse cause they're just too good. It aint happenin, chief. Either derank with your homies and get put against lesser quality players or sack up and get used to it.
What you find draining/tryhard as anti-fun is actually lots of fun to these types of players.
-
Take into account that because the offering is reenabled, people are trying to get on it more and more. So although it technically is on 'rotation' as you put it, people are also now using the map offering to get on it, and its quite often.
I've played 5 games today. 3 of those had RCPD offerings (2 of which I countered with my own map offering) while one was Midwich and 2 SWF players both d/c'd upon map load in (the other match was normal on Swamp). Some people don't like certain maps. Yes it sucks for the people who get left behind, but expecting people to not enjoy themselves so you can enjoy yourself is also entitlement.
-
Claudette mains self caring in a corner of the map or refusing help and urban evasioning around the map.
Dwight's hiding in lockers more than they're out of it.
-
It has happened to me, and its frustrating and sad when it happens. But not often. Most games go the normal way, killer tries to kill us, we try to escape.
But it does feel awful when you're the one who does 3 gens for your team, 2 unhooks, a totem and your 1 remaining teammate decides to show and bring the killer to you just for you to die (and then they usually die as well).
I'm just happy its rare.
-
Well guess I'll be running map offerings for the next lil bit in hopes of 50/50ing it and not getting on it. If I do get on it, I'll play it out. But I'll do everything I can not to. Have fun.
-
For survivor, its Meg. I'm definitely a Meg-head, but a pretty good one at that. If not Meg, then David since he's a Chad.
Killer, its a bit harder.
I really love Blight's aesthetic, and playstyle. Basically a wrecking pin ball.
-
$30-40 and the last purchase was a while ago..Don't think I'll be buying anything for a while either.
Bought 1 cosmetic for David, Meg and Blight + Bubba for BBQ. Thats bout it. I'm content.
