DH isn't totally useless, I've been running it and I've gotten some real good value off of it + you can make some really crazy risky plays.
Ex. Had a teammate on 2nd hook, no one was going to save him so I got off my gen although injured and tried. Turned out to be a sick play. Got him off the hook right as the killer got to us and I predicted his attack would be on me, so as soon as I unhooked the teammate, I DH'd and killer swung. Avoided an unnecessary trade.
Although its a lot harder to use now, its definitely still good and brings value if you get the timing/reading down.
-
Nothing to do with DH, gen speeds, what killer it is. Its 99% of the time, because of my teammates and what they're doing or not doing.
For example: I had a match yesterday on Garden of Joy where as soon as the match started, 1 of my teammates started going to every pallet and dropping it. Not in a chase or anything. Started with the shack pallet. I aint putting up with that, I'd rather leave asap and get put into a much better quality match (hopefully).
-
Nah no time limit. I like not having to rush (even though I focus on being the most efficient). EGC is enough anyways IMO. The only downside to no time limit is when it gets down to 2 survivors, 3 gens left and they both decide to hide so the killer has to go around looking for them, checking lockers, just in hopes that they get hatch. But that can also be countered or baited for.
-
Solo Q is in a very bad state right now, yes.
However, it shouldn't take you 28 games to get 1 win as survivor. Thats ridiculous and you should probably evaluate what you're doing in the matches and change things up.
-
I don't think its too dark. Survivor main and yes it definitely puts you on your heels and you have to be extremely aware of any nearby pallets but in general, his kit isn't punishing. He is anti-loop with the darkness and ability to locker jump, similiar to Freddy's TP.
Yes its very dark. Its also very paranoia inducing. The audio doesn't help (probably some of the best audio for a killer) as it definitely makes you play differently, even if you are certain the killer isn't nearby.
I have no problem with the power, it comes and goes, it makes the survivor play differently or at the very least, be 100x more cautious/map aware. Your survivor gameplay would likely improve a lot more as well vs Dredge b/c you will have to find times to ignore the audio in darkness and all the paranoia or accept it and play super safe. I don't have a problem with Dredge's power, outrunning a Dredge while in darkness is hard but isn't impossible.
-
I'm not really surprised. Almost everything considered damning or 'big' in terms of an update was a nerf to survivors. I mean, they even nerfed DS which was perfectly fine, a 5 second stun isn't going to stop a tunnel most likely but it damn well will give you some breathing room and buy time for your team. They went even further by making it completely useless at end-game which is when DS was particularly so useful for. There's no incentive to bring it anymore.
Dead Hard isn't the saving grace it once was. Although I agree with the nerf, I think 'timing' it against high MMR killers is incredibly hard as a lot of them know that survivors STILL bring it and get extremely close to you so that their weapon swing is nearly impossible to see coming since its so quick and the animation is harder to see since they're hugging you.
The scary thing is they pushed this patch through thinking everything would be okay or certain situations would be improved upon but all they did was make it much worse.

Stop being a survivor main for like 2 weeks and play killer, you'll realize why the (strategic) proxy camp and tunneling happens. That 8 hooks and 4 man escape thing isn't fun, cuz the killer looses to gen speed.
I play killer too, dude. I'm a rank 2 survivor right now and a rank 5 killer (I took a 3 month break). I'm not amazing or anything but I try my best to not proxy camp. Ofc if people go for instant saves while I'm still in the area, thats another thing. But I normally always leave the hooked area to go patrol gens. I know how it feels when I'm survivor and the killer just patrols the person on hook, as if Kindred doesn't exist and we can't see them lol.
Again, its nothing complimentary. Its a cheap way to get people killed as you know people have to unhook their teammates if they want to better their chances for end game. The only real counter to it is if everyone is in a voice chat and can counterplay that with efficiency; although 1 person is likely to die at least in that strat sadly.
-
Will say the hackers aren't a problem for me, at least right now.
Game hitches and I'll be running and my character will stutter on nothing, which is a lot of times the difference between death and surviving a bit longer.
A lot of camping killers/tunnelers. I started running Kindred again for this exact reason, and I see the killer proxy camping the person on hook or just outright camping them very often.
Bugs. Had a new one today where I got unhooked & healed but on my screen I was still hooked. When I'd try to escape or wiggle off the hook, the bar wouldn't even load and just cancel out. I had to wait to be bled out on the ground (not on my screen but the killers/everyone else's). My hook timer had run out 2m ago.

This is your weekly PSA to stop BMing each other so we can break the cycle and avoid making toxic players, so we can get out of this rotten simulation.
I'm kidding, not really. But anyways, I noticed after playing many hours of DBD that it's just not fun anymore.
Killers will run NOED and BM because of it. Killers will camp and tunnel you for 5 gen chases, then down you with NOED after adrenaline procs. Killlers will hit on hook and shake their heads after downing you, with or without NOED and act entitled because of it.
As for playing with toxic solo queue survivors, it's not fun to play with clickers and teabaggers - bring your sht somewhere else. What makes it worse is that the killers will take it out on the teammates as well, like I ain't with them please T__T
I play DBD mobile cs I'm broke but like... it's literally the same as the core gameplay in which there is still toxicity. And that's why this game isn't fun. If DBD mobile had MMR like PC and console, maybe it would be better - obviously not the toxicity but gameplay wise. Like maybe if there was MMR on mobile, I won't face killers that suck and BM ?
But then again, my expectations are too high. I just get disappointed in matches cause I always wish for the best and that this match will be a good one, the matches make it even harder to be a good person. :,(
I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels like that. I just get so tilted and mad cause the matches turn out unfair or I'm tunneled out, left behind because of NOED when it could be cleansed. I really try to be a good teammate and save my teammates, help them out during endgame by 99ing the gates, coordinating the save with my team. Then when NOED procs on me, I get none in return. Then I just get so mad at both the killer and my teammates.
I just wanna play with my friend, have fun, and not rage T__T
As a survivor main I'll reply to some points -
- Certain killers will camp and tunnel me regardless of BM or not. I can run a Bubba for 4 gens straight (yes I'ma use a lot of pallets, but what do you expect). They'll catch me at the end or near the end and face camp me on hook like its their personal victory. Even when I don't BM or do anything to deserve it. Point is - some people take pleasure in playing like this and ruining someone's chance of survival.
- Only killers I actually teabag are the ones who camp/tunnel and fail horribly. Like they had one duty, and they failed at it. If I get out or get to the exit gates, you failed. And I will make sure to let you know you failed. Employ cheap tactics and fail, you definitely deserve to be made fun of.
- I never teabag or flashlight bait killers if I know they're playing fair. The problem is, A LOT of killers proxy camp or immediately come back to the hook when you save or get saved by someone, despite you taking your time or waiting for the killer to go away. These killers for the most part fall into the same category as #2. They aren't great killers, they know it, and they want the easiest kill possible which is either the person who just came off the hook or the person who just unhooked them and TRIED to heal them.
Also teammates can suck. I had a match for exxample today, where 1 guy did everything he could to help others who were caught and brought to hook, he'd flashlight and disable the hook they're being brought to. Guess what? He was tunneled out. And when I tried to help my fellow teammate at end-game who had been hooked while gate was opened, I still went for the save. Got them to safety but the killer got on me, and the 3rd teammate was just standing behind a wall watching. I made it to the exit gate and got downed, I would have made it if the 3rd teammate (who was fully healed) just bodyblocked. But they were more selfish and just wanted to get out alive. So instead of 3 people getting out alive, 2 people did.
Etc etc.
-
A Ghostface that sneaks up on you when you're working in a jungle gym generator...
Spirit can be scary, just because you just never know for certain when she phases. I usually just stop repairing a gen for a few seconds when I hear the phase. I've been caught off guard plenty times before that I know better now.
Myers for the same reason Ghostface is, but in Tier 1 only. Stealth/jump scare Myers are awesome to play against though.
Hag can be as well, especially when you go through an area you don't expect a trap to be at.

I was fi ally unfortunately body blocked while running away from the killer. A Meg (of course) seen me coming and instead of crouching away she stood there and watched the killer turn the corner and now I'm stuck between the two. I'm not sure if the killer noticed because she wasn't tunneled or even hooked, in fact she got hatch. She didn't even pick me up when I was slugged but unhooked me unsafely and watched me get downed again.
I've never been so shocked at this game. Like I've only come in contact with decent people who help there team. Like it was incredibly toxic and for what? A few blood points ? I don't understand the why? I'm not gonna lie I was salty about it when it happened but now I'm like.. why tho? Like Megs are yall good? Who hurt you?
Its going to happen a lot more if you continue to play. Some people just want to make you mad. Similar to how the Joker just wanted to see the world burn. That type of vibe.
Don't let it get you down too much and never give them the satisfaction of making you mad/tilted. Thats exactly what they want.

Survivor mains please answer me this question. Why when a group clearly destroys a killer do they feel the need to hang around at the exit gate untill the last second of end game collapse. Is it that important that the killer sees u teabagging before u can leave?
To answer your question - it depends on context.
Was the killer tunneling a certain person or face camping/proxy camping constantly, only to have the team come together, save them, take protection hits and ultimately everyone got out regardless? Lot of survivors wait for the killer at EG in this instance to teabag as a major 'F you' to the killer. Like you tried and still failed to kill the person. Ha ha!
If the killer was relatively new or just got played with for the majority of the game and they wait to teabag at EG, they probably are just a**holes and also another Haha! moment, in terms of how easy it was. These types usually like to demoralize players even more.
As for waiting for the last possible second before collapse, maybe they have a challenge that makes them have to remain in the trial while the others get out. Or they just want the killer to see them leave. I do this myself, not particularly at the end of collapse (cause I don't like wasting that much time) but I do want the killer to see me leave (and if they don't come to the EG, no problem I just leave). No teabagging, nothing. Or I give them a free hit at the end for some extra points and then leave.
Really just depends on the killer and how they play usually. But again, there are lots of survivor mains who just like to bully the killer and teabag/waste time regardless. Having the killer be demoralized and less incentivized to play killer again is their goal. If you get mad and bring it to end-game lobby, they are even happier.

Yeah, it can be frustrating, but the truth is that unless you are god tier, there will be games where you are the weak link who is frustrating your teammates. It will happen, with matchmaking as it is. Not a pleasant reality, but reality.
And I guess at the end of the day, if you can't appeal to a player's sense of consideration to their fellow gamers, ask how much time is anyone really saving by DCing? By the time you fully leave the match and sit out the penalty, the match you left would be nearly over, and at least you'd have some BP to show for it if you had stayed.
Hey man I agree. I'm not an advocate for D/Cing, but I also prioritize my own fun over someone else's. I don't mind memeing but memeing/doing nothing to progress the match is just not my idea of fun. I like the teammates who actually try to win matches and try to be good teammates. Thats my version of fun. And I don't think anyone should be forced to stick through a match if its not fun for them. I'm not god tier, but I'd say I'm a decent teammate to have. I can run killers pretty well, I do gens, have awareness when to go for saves or if its even possible, take protection hits to save others from death hook, etc. I agree, it can be frustrating and D/Cing will realistically only make you sit in the lobby longer with nothing to show for the match you were in.
But I also shouldn't be forced to stay in a game when I got 3 new players/cowards/memers (whatever you want to categorize them as) on my team who don't want to actually play the game. Don't DC. Its not worth it, especially since the timer goes up. But if you aren't having fun and you don't feel like your teammates are contributing, no one should make you feel guilty for wanting to get out of there ASAP and into another fresh lobby.
-
I think I got worse quality so far. Running a pinhead for 3 gens, don't get saved, prio a gen over saving me, then the 3 of them go down too.
Or having a Steve on your team who just crouch walks everywhere while the 3 others do all the work, and he somehow makes it out.
Going against a Ghostface who misses almost every other attack and tunnels & camps 1 person to death. And when I'm able to save them, they don't struggle and die right as I'm bout to unhook them.
Or 3 teammates who don't touch gens for the first 4m of the match, then get caught in 10-15 seconds each. One of them just slow walking around a tractor.
Those have been my matches so far today.
-
Depends on the game. I think people are fully in their right to D/C if they want to, they know the penalty. I'm not someone who does D/C but dying on hook to get me out of the game faster is definitely something I've done. Mainly because of my teammates, nothing to do with the killer.
I want good teammates who know what to do. I just had a match against Pig and I got on a gen immediately. Claudette sneaks up and blows the gen immediately upon getting on it, killer is there in 10 seconds, finds the Claudette and downs her in the next 15. Then she has Kindred so I see what my other teammates are doing. The David is crouching in some shrubs (who gets found and downed in 15 seconds as well) and then we got the 3rd teammate just slow walking on the Tractor. I realize what type of team I got and I let them all die. I can forgive the slow start but when Kindred shows what my teammates are doing (and what they're doing is pointless, a waste of time) I don't really feel motivated to stick it out or stay. I figured I'd die too anyways once I saw all that. Somehow though, I got lucky with the gates on opposite sides and timed it well, was able to open a gate and get out (she closed hatch).
Context matters.
-
I don't usually give up against a nurse. I do roll my eyes and say 'here we go again' knowing someone on my team or multiple people on my team are going to rage and d/c/put themselves on hook to get out faster.
I always try against them. Some people just hate certain killers or the mechanics of a killer and being caught regardless of being a good looper.
Also - if you come up against a god nurse, there really isn't much you can do. Ones that never miss, that always measure the distance perfectly, etc. But those are rare and the players that are that good on nurse know how problematic and oppressive she can be so they don't play her constantly.
-
As a purely solo player, gotta agree.
It really comes down to the player. I've had some amazing games as a Solo where everyone comes together and each person plays well, does gens, has the awareness of when to go for hook saves, takes protection hits on the way to the gates for a teammate, etc. Its a really nice feeling compared to if I was in a group with constant communication and killer whereabouts. Even better when the killer asks or implies at end-game chat that we were in a group.
Also had games where people do exactly what OP said and just hide/walk around for the first little bit/not progress the game. When its like that, there isn't much you can do. Gotta realize not everyone plays like you, and thats ok!
-
I think you need some self evaluation buddy. You decided to log onto the DBD forums, make a rant post insulting players who like to tryhard and then call them insecure. Look in the mirror pal. It aint that serious.
-
Yea...I'm sorry but I'll gladly disagree for the most part. Especially the 'the mmr system tends to produce closer matches on average'. The system focuses on escapes and kills. Thats it.
I consider myself to be a pretty good survivor/teammate but I play solo. I body block, I take hits, I trade hooks if needed, I go back and try to find NOED if needed, etc. IDK how many games I've had recently (thus I'm taking a break) where my teammates seem to be completely unaware that gens = escape. Teammates that go down 10-20 seconds into a chase/immediately, or who dive bomb others on hooks and snowball the game even more. Just the other night, I had 5 matches with teams just like this in a row. 6th match was decent, 7th match again I got matched with new/bad players. Hopped off after that.
MMR system sucks, its faulty as hell, and no one should be defending it. The fact we can't even tell our OWN MMR is even worse and makes even less sense.

- I don't watch Dowsey but I checked out his most recent stream and flipping through it looks like he was only playing killer for half of it and also played VHS. (Sounded like he was having trouble with hackers?)
- I looked up Otz's video today and he's still playing killer. He didn't seem like he was in a good mood generally speaking. 🤷♂️
I didn't bother looking up Tru3ta1ent. He's a good player but he complains about everything all the time. Some of his complaints are valid, some are just sore losing, it just wasn't worth watching any more with him.
(For reference I mainly watch Youtube uploads, not Twitch. I like OhTofu and Otz's uploads, some of Dowseys, and some of Scott Jund's. And of course Samnation. 😄 Tru3 is really prolific on YouTube, like I said though I got tired of his stuff.)
A lot of people dislike him because he comes across in a 'know it all' way and is passively condescending. Not to mention, like you said, he just complains about everything while preaching this holier than thou attitude. But he has mostly stopped playing killer from what I've seen.
Spooknjukes still plays killer. Hexy still plays killer (although he camps no matter who he plays).
Scottjund barely touches killer, or at least recently doesn't.
LilithOmen still plays killer (big surprise arguably the best Blight player still plays Blight lol).
-
This is basically why I started to follow a rule regarding this.
If I'm already on my way to unhook you and you try to Kobe in my face since I'm about to save anyways, I turn right around and head back to the gens. I don't care if I'm about to save you at that point, you want to be selfish enough to try and deny me unhook points, you get no unhook from me.
If I'm on my way already and you're spamming to get to struggle phase and die ASAP, I will do my best to save and farm you. If the killer is near by, I'll try to take a hit so I get a safe rescue.
Plenty of times, were off to a great start - 1 gen, ruin gone and the first person hooked immediately goes to 2nd hook stage and tries to kill themselves. If you want to ruin games or be selfish, thats fine.
Just don't get mad when I leave you on the hook to die or save you solely to farm you for points before you die.
-
I started by only playing Meg. Then branched off to Shirtless David and only played him. Then branched off again to Feng and played her exclusively. Now I go back and forth between Meg & Feng for the most part, unless I'm doing a challenge w/ a particular survivor.
-
I dont think she's unfair or unfun to play against. I personally like the idea of having to pay attention to the crows and their positions, its similar to Huntress and her hatchets. Now if you're a player who doesn't really look behind themselves, then yea she's ultra punishing.
I've outplayed numerous people playing her and I realized pretty quickly where she slacks heavily. She stops loops, she doesn't stop chaining tiles. For ex, you can loop shack once and because she thinks you're going to use it more, she'll start setting up her crows, which is the moment you break off from shack and move somewhere else, so she has to set up crows again and again.
I don't find them as strong as you do, I guess.
-
I do but she's def on the rare side. Not as rare as a Hag or a Billy (yet but getting there fast) IMO.
-
Think it should be baseline. Would be an easy but big improvement for him.
-
There's already a thread on this about this specific match.
Also, he's playing Legion against a solid 3man SWF. Like the guy at end-game chat said, no one made him pick Legion.
-
I actually saw this live, lol. Came into his stream and he was ranting/complaining about Spirit.
I used to like Tru3 a lot until I realized he's incredibly condescending and passively aggressive. He's a hypocrite in a lot of things he says, he doesn't take critique well (he thinks hes top MMR, so in his mind, he knows better than others). This match happened like 30-40m after I stepped in, and he was still goin, this time about how broken SWF is and how 'trash' these survivors are. His frustration really builds up and gets to him in this match.
Yes SWF is a problem, being able to play like this compared to solo que is night/day difference and def not healthy for the game. I don't think anyone disagrees with how OP it is.
-
Killer:
Dead Hard, COH, Prove Thyself
Survivor:
Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer
-
Bad teammates for me.
-
Has also happened to me versus Pig.
Was in a chase and got some distance, so figured I'd try and hide in one. Was in there for at least 5-8 seconds before Pig came up, M1'd and downed me. Despite chillin in the snowman.
-
Wish every survivor got a sweater, sucks that the 3-4 survivors I play the most didn't get one.
-
Anything from Sluzzy.
-
Yea I never understood mercy for AFK survivors.
Down and onto the hook! If you don't care to alt tab back into the game or punish your team, then so be it. Sucks for the other survivors but as the killer, its definitely not my problem. Don't que up if you're busy.
-
Hag
Twin
Billy
-
Just stop playing Trickster, bro.
-
Trickster for me. Think he's the only one I genuinely hate playing against.
-
If you actually believe he is OP, you are not as good of a survivor as you might be led to believe you are. He's only rough for beginners. Intermediate/good players will chain tiles and windows together, not go for pointless hook saves, etc.
-
The way I play a solo match largely depends on my team. Running Kindred as a solo just frustrates me because you see how useless some of your teammates are. I don't have faith in survivors but it does feel good when a team all comes together to save someone and get them out.
-
VHS aint gonna replace DBD and I feel bad for all the people thinking/hoping it will.
-
Just had one like you're describing.
Played I think 10-12 matches today, escaped all but the last one.
Was against a Demo on Forest, and 2 teammates literally were crouch/slow walking as Demo got closer, both went down in the first 20-40s of the match starting. IDK why I'm getting teammates like this who can't even run a Demo 30 seconds but hey. The MMR system sucks, so it is what it is. Its actually worse than the rank system we had. No way I should be escaping over 95% of my matches to be matched with total noobs who have no sense of urgency or efficiency.
We aint surprised tho.
-
SWF.
-
If you play this game majority of the time or only play this, yea I can see how its boring.
I'd mix your game variety up more. I got BF2042, Forza Horizon, R6S, Evil Within 2 (as my current SP game), B4B, Propnight out Nov 30th, etc.
-
Different for each player, everyone learns at a different pace and improves. I personally got noticably better around the 700/750 hour of playtime mark. Realizing what you did wrong is something a lot of people do, but applying those 'fixes' and staying consistent with those fixes is what takes longer. Making tiny adjustments, bit by bit.
-
Depends on RNG of pallet locations and how safe they are. But yea for the most part, chases are fun. Anyone can hold M1 and do gens but not everyone is great in chases.
-
I had a similar match as a survivor against Nem on Forest.
We all gen rushed and the killer seemed to struggle in chases with some of us, he broke off a chase with me because I guess it was taking too long. Game was over in about...5-6m (at most) and I could tell he was frustrated because he opened one gate and then gestured for me to open the other one. He had very clearly given up and just wanted out of the match ASAP. Felt bad and told him to keep his head up.
And yea, of course its not killer sided. We got SWFs with full comms and call outs, we got boon totems, were on a 4 man team versus a solo Killer, we have exhaustion perks for second chances, DS to avoid 'tunneling', BT to make sure we get a safe unhook, etc. I think most players have realized that survivors are the power players, not the killers. A person with only 100 hours can see this just like someone with thousands.
-
Yea, I would not recommend this game to new players at all. Until they change how the bloodweb and grind works, no one should pick this up. But I doubt they'll change anything, not like they actually listen to the community on actual healthy game changes.
-
I can sum it up for you if you'd like, based on role.
Good survivors --> Bad survivor teammates are the main reason if they do D/C. Its rarely anything to do with the killer. Even if they camp/tunnel, most good players can recognize why its happening or the strategy behind it. But there's no valid reason for 3 other teammates to not even be on gens, but just doing the most useless things and wasting time. Its very annoying, especially if you have aura reading perks like Bond or Kindred and people still play like complete point sluts or cowards (excuse my language but it is what it is).
Killers --> When either their perks get deleted/found early game or they are just getting played with like a chew toy by the survivors.
IMO, frustrating teammates are the more valid reason to D/C as you're on a team and need to mostly cooperate and help each other to get to end game.
Killers can still turn a game around even with deleted perks like Undying and/or Ruin. But the same can't be said about a team of survivors with only 1 person who focuses gens, while the others not only get found but get into chases that last a total of 20 seconds.
So yea, not really trying to defend survivors but like any 'team' game, you have to do well together or be selfish and try to get hatch.
-
Jungle gyms.
The problem is, most people don't like facing him cause his counterplay revolves around certain maps and no one can dodge all the 40+ knives being spammed at them (unless bad trickster). Thats why a lot of people who hate facing Trickster, love facing Huntress. Her hatchet throws are skill based and timing and prediction is required to land hits. However at the same time, there is a lot more counterplay to Huntress compared to Trickster and it is also a lot more satisfying/rewarding to outplay a Huntress hatchet.
-
Bro, you good?
-
Just play however you want. Don't let anyone try to control how you play the game.
Some killers however hate:
- teabagging (at exit gates, after dropping a pallet and stunning the killer, or even just mid chase)
- flashlight macro/flashlight clicky
Some survivors hate:
- Camping killers
- Tunneling killers
- Sandbagging teammates
These are just the popular ones that are complained about pretty frequently on the forums.
