if a killer keeps a survivor bodyblocked into the basement, this could be done without constant contact and would avoid triggering the detection.
I think it's okay. At least people can't just head out to the movies and leave survivors stranded for two hours.
I'm literally telling you that unless the killer is touching the survivor, the script won't trigger, thus they will still be stuck... (unless I'm reading the script wrong)
Yeah, the survivor can touch the killer too. Bodyblocking means that they're touching at some point.

putting a rank limit on it would likely only encourage more deranking to avoid the obvious penalty. It's more of a nuisance than a penalty, in my opinion.
But obviously we need rank rewards to encourage people to climb (including portraits that make people feel special), and public season records to shame derankers.

SWF is a part of the game and will always be. It is everyone's responsibility to adjust.
Similarly, just because I don't like to and don't want to play against Nurse, widely accepted as the strongest killer, doesn't mean I get to opt out.
-
I think past Rank 10, it is fair to hide all status indications aside from NOED.
However, there is a plethora of game mechanics that are not explored or elaborated on in-game. I can see that people can get frustrated from a lack of guidance. It is reasonable to expect players to be able to recognize challenges they've faced before, but the game needs to do a better job at introducing them.

I don't understand why my post is so misunderstood. I disclaimed most of what you commented about in the original post.It is not misunderstood, it is the fact that you are only addressing an extremely small fraction of taking game hostage issue, for a survivor POV only. I don’t remember the numbers, but it’s somewhere in the high 90s, where survivors are ones who take the game hostage by various means. This idea of yours does absolutely nothing in those cases, and would be seen as siding with survivors and further nerfing ALL killers. It would serve very little purpose on its own. I would never condone a killer doing this, but as I said earlier, I have never seen it happen. Understanding that it only comes into play when all remaining survivors are being body blocked.
... Of course both sides can take the game hostage.. each in their own different way. That doesn't mean we can't work on one without immediately addressing the other. This isn't a zero sum game.
And what the hell do you mean nerfing all killers? No one body blocks for such an extended period of time. Literally no one playing the game in a coherent manner does this outside of exceedingly rare (and doubly unnecessary) situations.
How childish must you be to think that we should not resolve something like lagswitching because survivors have the ability to glitch onto rocks?

I like these a lot.
Sole Survivor, Monstrous Hooks, and Thanatophobia are especially creative.

With this patch I vow to only play insidious leatherface to camp the ######### out of ppl, it's not like the devs will be able to nerf facecamping more without all killers stopping to play the game.
I will run slugging doc to protest

I will say I don't care about getting slugged, but if the camping does get worse than it already is... I will absolutely drop this game without looking back.
(I'm already facing campers on nearly 3/5 matches as it is on xbox. no point in watching a load screen for a game I won't even be able to play)and before I get the usual "bye" "get out" "wont miss you" responses... just a reminder that this game needs survivors just as much as it needs killers.
Camping is a strategy BUT I feel like the hooked survivor should get bonus Lightbringer points when generators are completed. After all, you are being a "distraction" which allows you to let your teammates do generators.
I think it's too easy to pip right now to consider that. It's frustrating, but they don't necessarily need to let the camped survivor get off with a zero pip. A survivor that is camped has had much fewer opportunities to demonstrate skill, and giving them a safety net does not do them any good.
I'd rather they focus on making camping/tunneling strategically disadvantageous.
-
I'm surprised that the hatch is the first thing you mention. It's a minor inconvenience at the face of the real problems.
Here's what I think they need to pick up the pace on:
- Reworking bottom tier killers, buffing mid tier killers
- Adding secondary objectives
- Balancing gen/game times
- Refocusing the game from repetitive loop+gen rush to tension building stealth+short exciting chases
- Perk balancing
- Common sense fixes: Hiding perk loadout at end of match, SWF auto requeue
- Solo survivor quality of life / balancing
- Rank rewards / hidden MMR
Aside from that, I think they're doing a good job.
-
At the expense of everything else becoming more expensive?
No.
But if it helps the game grow then maybe./=

Lol
It's funny because almost every patch this year has had killer buffs in it, one minor change to a perk and they start kicking up tantrums.
Killer will and always will be easy, while it isn't as easy as Survivor it's still not an arduous task to get kills and pip.
The self-entitled victim main trope rears its ugly head once again.Always with the "but what do I get?! " Meanwhile they'd be foaming at the mouth if the roles were reversed. I have no words for this. -

Posts like this make me miss the LOL option.
I'd love to meet the player daft enough to deliberately leave their console or PC running while they go off to Portugal.
When the hell did they get rid of the LOL button and why?
@Peanits Explained in another post - basically people were setting up bots & alt accounts to go around auto Lol'ing comments for certain users of the forums. It basically became the "Downvote" button.

Bodyblocking to take the game hostage is bannable. Not sure why people don't understand that concept. There are toxic people that literally play Wraith just to plug people up in the basement to stream it on twitch. This would be a good solution.

True, but almost no one runs Calm Spirit, even after the buff. And how many people actually know about that second strategy?
-
I think they should make it more of a sharper zone with longer reach rather than simply wider all over and make it easier to tier up with M2.
Skill based buff without being hand-holdy.
-
No, that'd be way too much of a buff.
:^)

They are changing endgame anyway, so they clearly agree with you.
No one said hatch wasn't a crutch (not that it matters). It's literally a crutch for the last survivor, who has near zero chance to winning otherwise because everyone else is dead. It's the counterbalance to the snowball effect killers have.

Again, that's a personal and irrational choice.
You tunnel because you want to and it is rewarded by the game. That does not change with the BT buff.
And if you tunnel the BT user, then good. The perk did its job. It literally makes you stop tunneling the unhookee.
You literally cannot (knowingly) tunnel the BT user without first chasing and activating the perk on the freshly unhooked player.
I mean, if you don't anticipate BT at high ranks after such a significant buff, then I dunno what to tell you.
But you do you.
Playing at high ranks on the PTB is exactly what lead to the creation of this topic.
Doing what I listed was 100% the easiest way for me to 4K using my preferred killers (all garbage tier
).Have you played at high ranks on the PTB? What was your experience regarding this buff?
For you perhaps. I have not gotten a full red or even purple rank survivor team. They're all mixed, but that is a problem with the PTB in general.I use Hag with MYC. I don't camp outside of trapping. Unhooks always happened outside of my TR because I don't stick around so BT never triggers. I also only proxy/hard camp on Doctor and Pig, but for obvious reasons, BT buff wouldn't make much of a difference.I never noticed it with Legion except one game when the exit gates were open, but it wouldn't have made a difference. -
That's be great. A lot of my friends play on PS4. But wouldn't KB/M survivors make 360s too easy to evade the killer on console?

Buffed BT made tunneling less effective. It was easier to tunnel the unhooked person before BT buff because you could just follow them until they fell OR hit them twice. Now you only get one option.Your reasoning doesn't make any sense. You'll camp because you want to. The devs didn't and can't change that. And that's okay too. If you're actually winning games with camping at higher levels, then the devs just have more of a reason to discourage it again.Realistically, aside from not tunneling, your best option is to camp and tunnel BT users.

It's not a nerf. It's a bug fix. Read Nurses Calling description.DOCTOR CUBE:
- Snap Out of It is now considered healing, which makes it track-able by A Nurse's Calling (This was in the patch notes)
Yet it wasn't impacted by Mangled. The game has changed. The Doctor has his problems and they should fix them after they finish the sad boy killers, but this change is necessary and inconsequential to Doctor's success. -
I'm out of shards so yeah, I'll buy the chapter.I like four of the six perks.Play the killer though? Maybe. I think they need to make him less frustrating to play. The vaulting and chasing multiple survivors is fun though.
-
If they wanted to make this true, then they should've give them the power to interact with/booby trap generators, exit gates, totems, and chests.
-
Step in the right direction.Edit: on second thought, realistically, because Deep Wounds ticks down, chases will last 30s at most, with no add ons. That's actually really good.Edit2: Misread it. It does NOT tick down during chase. Still think he's underwhelming.

Doesn't this only affect a Doctor that uses Nurses Calling? Or does it nerf a different perk with Doc as well? Don't really see how that's a big deal to be honest.
This also affects Freddy's Wake Up too, I believe. This change was overdue. It adds stupid inconsistencies to the game and buffs tracking power of killers that never needed help with tracking. Plus they'd need to balance them over every new killer mechanic in the future? Yeah, no.People complaining are just complaining because any insignificant killer nerf is blasphemy. -
Adding it to Kindred would be a great idea.
Not only would it actually allow solo players to more easily coordinate to counter camping, but also boost Kindred to viability. Survivors can mind-game killers into thinking they have Kindred, thus further discourage camping, or even let themselves get caught.
20% is heavy handed, but that can obviously be adjusted.

Simply because it's near 100% usage. If they took the stats of the games of those who own LF, I bet they'll find that they use BBQ near 100% or at same rate as SC. The aura reading isn't perfect, but the 2x BP is necessary for killer because many killers must use add-ons to be viable.
Can you back that claim up with some facts?
Last time the Devs showed stats about perk usage on stream NO OTHER perk was anywhere near the usage of Self Care.
No not even Ruin and BBQ could get close to that level.
Ruin and BBQ are closer to SB and DS.
Self Care reigns supreme among all perks with 85% of all survivor using it (including all the low ranks that not yet have it unlocked). So asking for the most overused perk to become a default feature is pretty bold (biased).
Especially since this perk is at least grindable. It is a teachable from an original survivor that you do not need to pay for.
Ruin and BBQ are teachables from DLC and need to get bought and are even more hard to get than just SC.Of course not. Do I look like a developer? Hence why I said "I bet." Also, read:
Visionmaker said:

I'm also asking the most coveted, paylocked KILLER perk to be free and default, by the way. And I say this as a person who regularly purchases killer & survivor DLCs, so you can buzz off with your victim maining bullshit.
