I was on the Meatpacking Plant upstairs facing a Freddy. He was across the staircase from me, while I was inside the pallet range on the other side. We were just staring at each other, so I said ######### it, and started to heal, figuring I would hit him with the pallet when he came around. He ran forward, and hit me as he was falling down the stairs. I didn’t know that killers could do that and I was actually pretty impressed.

Spine Chill/Resilience is great for making fast vaults mid chase. It can make the difference between gaining distance or getting downed.
This will sound stupid, but Spine Chill makes me really paranoid. Every time it lights up I want to run away from what I’m doing.

Well Dead Hard is pretty good, but you need map awareness or you'll eat dirt
Which I usually do when I used DH. I try to have map awareness, but my sense of direction is poor and I get turned around easily.
-
It might just be me, but the saloon seems like a really small map. A lot of the generators are close together, which is both good and bad for survivors.
-
If most of the survivors are carrying flashlights, I assume they’re a trolling SWF.

Would be very cool to have Lee in dead by daylight my favourite game protagonist
I didn’t even see Lee! I’d be down for him too.

Unless you’re planning to camp the basement, I don’t really see much of a use for it.
-
I don’t know who a lot of these people are, but you know, I think I would really like Chris Washington from “Get Out”. He was an intelligent, realistic horror movie protagonist.
-
There have been times when I’ve played against such a toxic team that when the last gate is open I just take my hands away from the keyboard and go get a drink or something. I don’t really feel like chasing them just so they can flashlight blind me some more.

Well, on stream last night I had a Legion of Dwights. I didnt know it was possible, but all 3 of them took more than 5 minutes of 1 generator.
It was quite frankly the most majestic thing Ive ever seen
That’s amazing.

I mean, that's a less optimal way to do it, but it still frequently works.
That’s how I’ve been seeing it and why I wondered if it’s a meme. Hooking someone in the basement and then circling the area like a shark isn’t exclusive to the Trapper.

If Trapper gets a basement hook, he has no reason to do anything else. Proxy camping shack is the obvious best play.
Is it proxy camping if he’s just standing in the corner 3 feet away? Not arguing, I’m just not sure what the exact definition of proxy camping is.

that's... weird however. then again... a lot of survivors don't care (and don't run kindred)...
but IIRC the build back in the day was 'iron grasp; insidious; monstrous shrine; agitation' i think
That might be before my time. I very rarely see killers run Monstrous Shrine.
-
@Huge_Bush said:
I wouldn't call that a meme, more like taking the easy route.
It’s baby play, but I found it surprising how it kept happening across at LEAST three different Trappers.

@MeltingPenguins said:
Well, if you consider 'old school scum' a meme...
I'm not that long in dbd, but I know that back in the day insidious basement camper (with monstrous) was decently common (most due to lack of perks)
You know, that’s the really odd part: none of them actually ran insidious. They just stood there.

Well, the actual creator said he wouldn't mind if they shrank him down to Demogorgon's size, if not just a smidge taller
That would be OK. My bigger concern would be if they made his screaming/sirens really loud.
-
They’re okay, but I’m not a fan of exhaustion perks in general. I’m also ######### at looping, so I’d rather hide than run.

Maybe if you looked at the killer you would start making more noise or might get slower
Or maybe a status effect (EG Blindness) if it could be done in a way that wouldn’t be super exploited.
-
But, I don’t know how the game would know if it was an intentional DC or just a crash/freeze.
-
I would be curious how they would do it mechanically, since you can’t look at them without going nuts.
-
Successfully hitting a killer with a pallet, especially Ghostface (because of his annoyed SIGH) and The Pig (her tiny squeak) is great.
Breaking the lit totem of a killer that’s been an absolute ass all match is satisfying.
Successfully hiding from a killer is exciting.
The rare times I get to face the Trickster make me happy, even if I lose.
Dropping my last flashbang in the face of a killer that’s been a dick while I escape is both petty and satisfying.
-
I’ve heard of him (it?). The issue is Siren Head is like 40 feet tall. No way that would work.
-
Easier to animate would be my guess. You don’t have to worry as much about the survivor clipping into the killer’s body.
In-universe: probably because it leaves their other hand free to swing their weapon.
-
Because they’re both serial killers doing it for their own fame.
-
A lot harder. One of the many reasons I almost exclusively play survivor is that some thing about first person mode makes me feel a little nauseous.

I personally hate bringing in a flashlight, because not only am I bad with them, but I'm running Aura perks to see my team doing much of nothing, so I'm usually trying to get gens done and am too far away for the save anyway.
I never bring flashlights because I’m ######### with them, but also because I think they make killers target you.

What if you could see Hillbilly's dong
That would get more people to play, but not because it’s scarier.

Let me roll up my sleeves here…
Camping might be a “legitimate strategy”, but it’s still annoying. Same with tunneling.
If you’re being a dick to the killer to get them to chase you (or just to be a dick), running them towards other survivors makes you an ######### as well.
Stop flicking your light at me when we’re both survivors. It’s annoying and I don’t know what you want. Just double crouch or point like everyone else.
Bubba sucks and I hate him.
The Trickster’s character design is fine. Him being a K-Pop singer is fine. Him not covering his face or being deformed is fine. His issues are in his mechanics.
If you are downed as the last survivor, and the hatch is already closed, you’re just ######### at that point and they may as well end the game. I understand why they did that, but there’s really nothing to do at that point besides just wait to bleed out or get caught. Yes, I know you could wiggle free, but the odds you could wiggle free AND get a gate open?
If you’re just slugging, you’re inviting me to waste your time. I will crawl all over the map if there’s no other way for me to get up just to keep from giving you that last hook. Should have hooked me instead of just leaving me to bleed.
Survivors who DC the first time they get downed are babies.
Killers who carry you to the hatch like they’re going to let you out, then wait for you to get close and kick it closed, are complete scumbags. Just kill me and get it over with.
-
”Trickster needs a nerf”. Oh yeah, that OP killer who totally has no counterplay. /s

should be better the illusions cause a terror radius to confuse survivors?
I was about to suggest this. I know that it’s an illusion if there’s no terror radius. Also if they moved towards survivors, even a little bit, I think it would get people
-
I will wait around to make sure everybody else is out, but then I leave. If you’re t-bagging in the exit, you’re just begging to get hooked.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
I don't know if it's happened yet but I want a survivor who is a complete scumbag and a terrible person and have them be morally gray
Yun-Jin Lee is KIND of a scumbag, since her perks are focused on self-survival and she didn’t really seem to care that the Trickster was hurting people (just that he’d get caught). But I’d be down for a terrible person survivor.
-
This game does not need voice chat. If I want to hear 12-year-olds call me slurs, I can play pretty much any other PVP game.

I've always hated how the mori's are basically pg13 the only real gore one is like hag and oni
Yeah. Getting stabbed in the face 50 times should result in more than red particle dust.
-
I’ve never escaped when I’ve brought in a key. I’ve only ever used one if I happened to find one during the match. And even if I find it, there’s no guarantee I’ll also find the hatch in time.
-
It’s hard to be scared of some thing you’ve been doing for hundreds of hours. Even if the last few chapters of the most terrifying killers ever, they’d still lose their effect after you see them for the 100th time.
Having the killer being controlled by another player take some of the fear out of me too, because I know it’s just another human who’s trying to win a game too.
I think adding a little bit more gore might help. I’m not a big gore = horror person, but having a meat hook through my shoulder with no visible wound, or having the Pig’s trap go off and my face is actually fine, makes it less scary.
-
Doctor is pretty easy to pick up.

I usually cant kobe when I want to and will only Kobe when I am trying to kill myself so I guess I had to get good luck once. Lol
I only seem to Kobe when I’ve given up hope. And then it usually leads to me getting downed anyway, but hey, at least I tried.
-
Maybe a South Asian character? I don’t think we have one yet.
-
So no one would ever cleanse hexes, where being able to cleanse them is part of the balance, because no one would lock off their own perks. We already have trap hexes.
-
Happened a few nights ago. Sadly, I was in the basement and Myers was camping the stairs, so it didn’t do me much good.
-
I would like frilly lingerie for the killers, please. Yes, all of them.
-
Even as a solo survivor, I’d still say killer for the most part. I may just be a ######### killer as well, but I feel bad for new killers that survivors just run over.

Just had a match against a Doctor on Temple. Things were going pretty well at first, two gens done, no hooks yet, and then I go down. Immediately everyone stops what they are doing and just surrounds me, and I realize at this moment they all have flashlights. It then turned into several minutes of trying to bait Doc to pick up, instead leading to me lying on ground 99% recovered waiting for something to just happen. I get picked up, another survivor gets slugged, and then I get downed again Immediately after and then hooked. Someone unhook me, I get slugged again, and once more everyone is surround me trying to get a flashlight save (which one does). It then turns into Doc slugging all of the flashlight users and then just coming straight back for me. Solo Q is such a chaotic place to be in some days. What are some of yalls stories?
I feel for you. Pretty much every time I come in with a team that’s running three flashlights, I get screwed because I’m the only one not blinding the killer.
-
Visionary is super useful. Yeah, maybe I could be running something else, but I would rather keep the bonus of knowing where the next gen is without having to hunt all over the damn map. Especially at the end of the game.
