It’s what a good teammate would do, someone took the risk to unhook you near the killer so you try to protect them in return. Something tells me you like staying near the hook if survivors keep “shoving” their BT and OTR in your face

I don't like being prevented from going after another survivor by people who probably cry about camping and tunnelling on the forums all day. Anyone body blocks me with BT/OTR gets hard tunneled out of the game immediately

  • Good luck getting anyone using auto Dead Hard banned. I have a report that's been pending for over 3 weeks that BHVR still haven't acted on. The guy gave himself a 10 second speed boost after getting hit during the EGC to run immediately to the hatch all the way across the map. It was insane distance. I filled out everything properly, reported in game, attached additional report, and provided video evidence. That was a lot of work and they haven't done anything with it. I know they haven't because the guy is on Steam and a small time streamer. Still playing.

  • I'm surprised to hear that survivors dislike mending so much. The amount of survivors that shove their BT and OTR directly in my face right after they got unhooked had me thinking otherwise. If anything, I thought mending should be much longer to discourage that

  • Stop citing the "killers were all around 50% kill rate so it was balanced" stats pre-6.1 patch because those were before Dead Hard validation, Circle of Healing, Garden of Joy, and I think Eyrie of Crows

  • Windows of Opportunity actually is busted as hell. I wish they would have made DH do literally anything else besides this timed tank hit stuff because it's very unfun having to delay hitting a survivor to wait out DH STILL

the problem is what one considers a win. 2k 6-8 hooks is a w....however most killers are under the notion its 4k or bust. and thats the real issue that everyone tends to overlook

Please explain why everyone should consider a 2K a win. I mean... that's a tie

  • Yep killer goes for as many hooks as possible and doesn't camp/tunnel? Gets insulted and told ez. Typical survivor. You wonder why you get camped/tunneled so much. I'd rather win and get insulted than lose and get insulted

Content creators in the DBD community are constantly attacking eachother and creating drama. A good portion have made their career out of "exposing" other content creators they decided are bad (either personally or just their takes) which creates mobs that then start various attacks on the "exposed" content creators. One portion of the community that pays attention to the content creators backs the ones making the attacks (these content creators pretend they didn't mean to create the mob they create every single time) thinking their content creator is in the right while the other portion is backing the one being attacked because they think they are the ones in the right. Either way it's unnecessary drama created by these content creators to get more likes/views while stoking toxicity between members of the DBD community.

BHVR isn't going to get into the middle of it because it's not their job to police what happens on other platforms. It's why they have put in their rules that anything happening outside DBD (like Twitch, YouTube and Twitter) should be brought to the attention of those platforms. At most they will remove the players responsible from their Fog Whisperer program if they are part of it while stirring up drama but outside that they won't touch it.

Yeah it's obvious who you're referring to. They try to have their cake and eat it to. They cause up a giant shitstorm for a certain content creator and then act like they never meant for that to happen when they achieve the entirely predictable outcome of the targeted creator getting harassed non stop

  • I watch a lot of content creators and none of them play against extremely good survivors as often as tru3 does. If you're stomping mediocre and baby survivors live on Twitch every night you might think tru3's ideas on balance are ridiculous

  • What more skill? It's easy to use against the top tier killers and you just use it at a pallet. Either killer hits you or he waits it out and gets stunned. They should have made this perk do anything else entirely

  • I'm convinced 90% of the people that complain about tunneling are people that throw themselves in front of the killer to rub their OTR in the killer's face and then go Pikachu face when they get tunneled. I'm a solo survivor that isn't even good and I rarely ever get tunneled and I also don't throw myself in the killer's face like that. I keep running OTR/DS and they're absolutely unnecessary when you aren't teabagging/clicking and trying to endurance bodyblock

  • Lol at Shift + W doesn't work on Slinger. Have you played him on Midwich, Swamp, or Red Forest? I played a game on Midwich recently as Slinger trying to hold a 3 gen. The survivor can see me from the other side of the hallway and can just run downstairs and it would take me 8 hours to catch him. Real fun and engaging gameplay

"Finish repairing 4 generators while using the perk Dark Sense IN A SINGLE TRIAL"

At least the one you mentioned is doable in multiple matches, and you can kinda force it by looking for the killer at the start of the match

This one wasn't really bad cause you only had to finish it. Admittedly easier before the killer buffs in the last patch, but run Dark Sense, Bond, Prove Thyself and gen rushing toolbox and hop on gens with someone else when you can just to finish it. Even if you only work on it for 2 seconds it counts as long as you finish it

  • The Plague one where you had to hit two survivors with one corrupt purge twice in one trial was the most difficult challenge they've ever had

  • Solo Survivor - 5. I'm not a great looper and don't have tiles memorized but I know how to run the most OP perks and split up and bang out gens

Killer - 6 or so. I play all the killers. Jack of all trades, master of none. I'm on console so I have to just eat pallets moreso than playing around a lot of tiles cause I get stuck on ######### due to the joystick. I try to get pallets down ASAP. BHVR seems to think I'm amazing though because I get matched against probzz and other top level survivors on the regular and have lots of thrilling 2 to 3 hook games

  • The god windows everywhere are so annoying. I was playing Wraith without Bamboozle recently and I got put on Haddonfield against really good survivors and it was probably the most fun game I've ever experienced

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/342768/so-what-happens-after-the-reassurance-meta-and-nurse-nerf

Lmao what makes you think reassurance would become meta especially after it’s huge nerf? It’s not that much better than kinship at all and look at how much kinship is used lmao. Like never lol

SWFs will absolutely maximize Reassurance to gen rush and save their teammates at the very last second. This already happens. Sometimes you have to force a 2nd hook state to generate pressure even if you weren't blatantly camping!

  • @Zexbunny said:

Yes.. how dare the devs try to fix anything for survivor! They should just make all survivors spawn on hooks and remove the four percent chance to escape. Then the he would be truly balanced.

You joke about hand holding this bad but it's actually already in the game in the form of 4 survivors all spawning split up on 4 different gens. An absolute guaranteed victory

  • "Just don't tunnel and it won't affect you!!!" like these super strong perks aren't used to bodyblock or gen rush the nearest gen after the killer is forced (strongly encouraged) to go to another gen/survivor

  • If you can't 12 hook in all your games with killers like Pig or Myers, it's just a skill issue!! Killers just got a massive buff from BHVR!! There is NEVER a justification for camping or tunneling!! - survivor mains

  • Yeah, 3 and 4 man SWFs that are playing to win and optimize loadouts/items completely break the game unless they're playing a try hard skilled Nurse or Blight. Entitled survivor mains will cry for those killers to be nerfed though and post until they have carpal tunnel about how you can potentially 12 hook every match with Pig or Myers and if you don't you're just bad

  • Got matched against probZZ and his 3 man SWF on Lerys with Leatherface and got 2 hooks. Then played Wraith no bamboozle and got Haddonfield against more top survivors. I quit and now I'm playing Star Ocean 4

  • Great design, this would be so much fun for survivors!

  • It's hilarious how every time I play Garden of Joy, the survivors will camp the main house or run directly there from wherever they get hit. That's how bad it is. That gen is always the first to pop

  • @FridayNightPizza said:

There's absolutely no reason to play nice, survivors won't appreciate it anyway, might as well do what makes it easier to win, you'll get hate either way.

This! You can go out of your way not to camp and tunnel, lose, and you'll get teabagged out the gate. I had a survivor main deadass tell me that I should be satisfied with knowing I "could" have killed them if they end up escaping cause I didn't camp/tunnel

So because the game can't be perfectly balanced, we should just let Nurse continue to break the game in half by simply existing

Forgive me for failing to see how that makes sense

I mean as long as 4 man SWF break the game in half, Nurse needs to remain powerful

Alright I see what you mean. Thanks again. Also I ain’t gonna lie the forums being bugged right now to where I don’t get notifications when someone replies to me is so annoying. I keep having to go to the thread to see if someone replied to me, hopefully the mods fix this.

Glad you mentioned the problem with the forum. The notifications haven't been working for me for a while and was wondering about it

  • Because people would dodge anyone not running meta

  • Only an unskilled baby killer camps in the EGC! You should pressure the gates and practice your chases! Camping is for bad killers!

  • Because in hockey, much like DbD, there is a dedicated facecamper that guards the goal

I love the predictable reaction of this community.

"We should buff survivor to "survivor with comms and teamwork"level to equalise." -> Yaaaas queeen

"We should buff other killers to the level of nurse to equalise." -> No, only nerf nurse.

In the solo-swf discusdion there was always talk about a killer compensation for those theoretical massive buffs. Not many people got into details about it but it's bern often admitted that it'd be delayed after the solosef buffs, and killers would need to patiently wait for that compensation while getting stomped by that now all swflevel survivors.

I hope the similiarity to patch 6.1 is obvious. Survivors lost their minds in that one. I'm not even saying they shouldve waited patiently likey killers were told to do in the discussion, thats as unrealistic as killers not going mad in the same situation, if it were to ever occur.

Bit the community does appear to treat the solo-swf gap solution inversely to the killer-tier gap solution.

Finally someone that didn't have the meaning of the post whoooosh right over their head

  • Seeing a no prestige base character doesn't make me dodge as survivor or make me tunnel as killer. I've seen some extremely good survivors that were prestige 0 on their characters. I will dodge some prestige 65+ loser though

In my honest, humble, non dev opinion:

Killers mmr should look at the number of kills, the order in which you hooked survivors and the time between each hook.

Survivors mmr should look at how many out of a team of 4 managed to escape, not if you individually escaped or died because you claudete'd your way out or died being altruistic. Have the quantity (negative or positive) be distributed based on how much stuff each survivor did in a match, and throw a bonus for overworked roles (if some1 got tunneled and couldn't do gens, if some1 was the "healer" and was constantly saving and healing, etc).

I don't see how this is that hard to implement. It's definetly clear that as things are right now, nothing is really working properly, which is imo a big source of all the salt, frustration, anger and entitlement we all have to deal with when playing the game.

A 100% perfect system is impossible, but if we had something akin to this I believe the game would be much more enjoyable and salt-free.

Why would the order you hooked survivors in correlate to skill and understanding of the game? I could just mindlessly run to the furthest gen on the map to chase the survivor there right after I hook someone and hook every survivor 1 by 1 this way while the survivors waltz out the exit gate teabagging the entire way. Would my MMR go up cause I played by the survivor rulebook?

  • @soloqdweet said:

Reassurance makes SWFs even stronger than before, and the fact that you can delay the hook timer forever is so overpowered. Camping was never strong, and only worked against bad players. Against any SWF camping only gets you a single kill. Literally playing the game and doing gens is the counter to camping, but survivors can't even do that. Camping and tunneling are just skill issues.

But dude you forgot that the poor guy on the hook doesn't get to have fun! Like it's fun playing against a coordinated gen rush or bully 4 stack

  • Lmao at thinking the situation I described can only happen if you're camping. Okay I'm playing against optimal SWF. I had to change targets after getting 2 pallets to go PrEsSuRe duh gens. I've started my 2nd chase and I've finally downed my 1st survivor and 2 gens are finished. I hook this guy and the other 3 are all spread out now getting on gens. I find one and chase him off. He runs towards a part of the map that has multiple pallets and a strong structure. I get 2 pallets, an injure and he's at an area that's too safe or has no gens nearby so i abandon chase. I go back to the hook and dude is still there with 10 seconds left cause his teammates sit on gens. I want to force 2nd state to at least punish them for just gen rushing, but dude finally gets off his gen and comes up with 5 seconds left to give an additional 30 seconds to his team to rescue their mate and the game is headed for a sure loss. Please tell me about how this perk will be fair and balanced against sweaty ass SWF

  • Yeah now SWF can sit and gen rush and give themselves 30+ extra seconds to rescue the guy when they wait until the last seconds to rescue him to crank gens. You can't force a 2nd hook state now. Very fair and balanced

  • I see survivors DCing left and right when they hear that bell!

He's a wee bit OP still

  • Matchmaking stops existing when queue times get long for either side

  • Well if you play a God nurse just take the L and move on. That's what us killer mains are told about 3 and 4 stack SWF. ThEyRe ExTrEmElY RaRe

  • Sounds great, nerf Nurse and then nerf SWF or let us know who's in a SWF so we can dodge/adjust accordingly

  • I don't see it as a problem that sometimes there are hooks that spawn close together. Wiggling off of the killer's shoulders isn't meant to be something that is at all common to happen. It's only there to keep the killer from taking you to the basement every single time. Large difference between something that isn't supposed to be common at all and the main resource that survivors have to defend themselves from the killer

  • Wow this guy's at high MMR, we got a bad ass over here!

Agreed. I see MacMillan offerings far too much, that I've started to lament going there.

I don't care if it is "the most balanced realm," I just want some map diversity

"most balanced" must be totally relative then lol. Suffocation Pit and Groaning Storehouse IMO are obscenely survivor sided, Ironworks is busted with boons. Coal Tower is small but it has a strong building with tons of strong loops connected to each other. Shelter Woods is mostly killer sided but it's huge

  • They need to make Deathslinger's terror radius bigger!

  • Maybe they slugged your ass on the ground because you were teabagging/clicking/emoting at pallets

  • I fear the MacMillan offerings more than anything now lol. It seems to me the sweatiest of the sweat comp/wannabe comp players all burn MacMillan offerings (im assuming cause those maps are played most in comp)

  • I'm Chicagoland. My killer queues are only long during the day and that's when the sweatiest of sweat survivors are online anyways. My queues are instant from like 5 pm to 11 pm CST

  • I've found the offering is usually run by the guy with Balanced Landing that wants to sit in the Saloon the entire game with the hopes that you'll chase him there, losing the game in the process

  • Hell no lol. I only give the hatch to survivors that are clearly babies and shouldn't have been matched against me. I definitely don't give hatch to any "good" survivor that's on PC because they're probably cheating anyways.

I've had 1 survivor give me a free kill when I've had a bad game in the entire time I've played this game and I'm devotion 24. I also get teabagged at the exit gate very frequently even when I went out of my way not to camp/tunnel. survivors are toxic af

  • Lol. Imagine wanting basement to go cause it's too unsafe and unfair for survivors while places like Garden of Joy main building, Groaning Storehouse, Dead Dawg Saloon, Grim Pantry, and Father Campbell's Chapel with its god windows all exist where killers basically can't chase to if they want to win the game. Oh and unlike the basement, the main buildings are pretty much accessible from anywhere on the map for the survivor
