So after feeling like killer was way too easy for some weeks, the game settled and my games are pretty much survivor sided like before the patch (i have 3500h and i play mostly against survs with over 1500h), and here is why:
- Prove Thyself is pretty much standard now, i see it in every game. Hyperfocus/ Stake Out combination is getting more and more common. Gens are getting even more focused now.
- good survs play with good survs, not saying it's a 4man swf every game but they have each other in friendlist very often because solo is hell right now. They only want to play with reliable, good survs.
- (good) survs learned how to use new dead hard and if they can get it to work consistently (win the mindgames on pallets and windows) it's even better than old DH
- good items (BNP, insta heal, styptic, ranger medkit) are even more common now.
- the only reliable tactic against good surv teams (tunneling someone out early) has been nerfed hard thanks to basekit BT, OTR and the likes. Which was good for solo players and low mmr players but it hurt the high mmr killers
- the ones who can loop and have game sense are now solely at high mmr, the survs that were boosted by perks (old DH etc...) are lost in mid/low MMR
i'm not saying the experience of mid/low MMR survs are untrue. I play solo a lot and i have a lot of frustrating games. But it was clear that good survs will find a way to keep the old balance alive. Killer right now feels not much different than before. Not saying it's absolute hell, i still have more fun than playing solo surv, but it's also not like "dude killer has been buffed if you don't 4k EVERY game you're trash"
Nice post OP. I've been saying this for a while and anyone that plays killer regularly against non-potatos will attest to this. It's weird seeing all these posts about how insanely overpowered killer is after the patch because it only makes sense in like the baby ranks. They added 10 seconds to gens and they're flying faster than ever
-
A solution to buffing high MMR killers without touching low MMR is adjust pallet distribution and generator times for high MMR SWFs but every time something like that is suggested people screech YOU CANT PUNISH PEOPLE FOR PLAYING WITH THEIR FRIENDS!!!!
-
Map sucks. When I play killer, I 100% never chase at the main building and try to stranglehold a 3 or 4 gen. It's extremely fun gameplay when you go against a team where they slap a boon in the main building and then immediately run there as soon as they get chased off a gen. You are throwing if you chase in the main building if the outcome is still in the balance
-
Can you please tighten the MMR range for matching high MMR players? I'm a mediocre survivor that plays solo queue to do survivor challenges and I'm getting matched with other solo queue newbs against killer main streamers with 5k+ hours that are playing for a living. The games are consistently ending fast with 5 gens up. No one gets any points and it's an abysmal gaming experience

Any buffs to solo q would also raise the escape rates of 2 SWF and 3 SWF groups. A better solution would be to raise the soft cap of SWFs, and calculate their MMR higher, to reduce SWF escape rate. The problem with SWFs is they aren’t being matched properly by MMR, because the MMR system is matching them as if they were solo q survivors.
If SWF escape rates could be lowered, then BHVR could make buffs to survivors that would help solo q without causing SWF escape rates to be even higher than they currently are.
Is it confirmed this is how the system works? It seems ridiculous to me that it makes no distinction between SWF and solo queue. The system should recognize a team is solo queue and give them a softer killer

Wait times for killers are pretty long. I don't think there's enough survivor players to keep the mmr tuned more finely. Wonder why that might be? Oh right, solo q is a bad game experience and no one wants to play it. Let alone 4 times the number of players who want to play killer.
I think it would be preferable to give those killers longer wait times if it means sparing low MMR solo queue gamers a guaranteed slaughter. The system needs to be designed to recognize solo queue lobbies and place them with softer killers making it a more fun experience for everyone where people can get more points. I had the most points in the game against One Pump Willie last night and I had 10k. 1 guy disconnected at his onryo mori. It was painful
-
I didn't read through this entire thread, but I just want to add my 2 cents lol
Solo queue is most horrible because of the broken matchmaking system in this game. I'm an 80% killer main and I'm definitely mediocre at survivor. I was playing solo last night trying to do the stun the killer 4 times challenge. It was actually awful. The matchmaking is just atrocious. I was getting paired with survivors way worse than me (and I'm no good) and we're playing against One Pump Willie and Ralph. It's an absolute joke. Dudes with 5k+ hours that play this game for a job are getting matched against newb solo squads and just destroying them. They seriously need to tighten back up the range that high MMR players can get matched with. I know I sound like Sluzzy, but this is the core of why solo queue is so miserable sometimes. It's not fun having discombobulated uncoordinated solos getting slaughtered with 5 gens remaining vs a guy that plays for a living. It's ridiculous
-
Does BHVR even ban for auto Dead Hard cheats? Seems like something they would just be like "well they COULD have done that legitimately. I'll allow that"
-
So with Dead Hard before if you waited to bait it out they made the window/pallet but if you swung they Dead Harded then made the pallet or window. Now if you see them coming to a pallet if you wait out the Dead Hard, they drop the pallet on your face, but if you swing they Dead Hard and get a speed boost to another tile. Seems like it's actually stronger now lol
-
I played against Sluzzy once. I was playing Trapper. His team was playing sweaty as hell on Gas Heaven, but I somehow managed to snowball into the finish for the 4k with a couple timely bear trap catches. I then beat him on the hook like a pinata and gave him the Trapper bags. It was glorious
-
No
-
Yeah man get that generator done while your entire team is on the floor
-
I play Trickster all the time on console. He's actually really fun to play even though he blows ass
-
They're definitely good sweat indicators IMO. It helps me with lobby dodging since I'm on console. I nope the hell out when I see prestige 40+ Claudettes, Neas and Fengs
-
You can easily do 50 to 60 second gens solo multiple times a trial right now. Killers have very little ability to deal with that
-
If I see a survivor with a toolbox, they're getting hard tunneled from the jump. Odds are they have on the complete bs BtL hyperfocus stakeout , so no anti tunnel perks. You wanna tunnel gens, I tunnel you
-
"Dredge" means lightly coating food with a dry ingredient, such as flour, cornmeal, or breadcrumbs. Often, you'll dredge foods before frying. Note: Many recipes call for food to be dredged, then dipped in a liquid (such as eggs or buttermilk) followed by a seasoned coating

Récord a video of yourself doing it and show us, please
Sure thing, I'll make one tonight after work. I'll play as Cybil. I'm on console and I'm confident it's not hard to do. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it but ScottJund and Otz have already shown videos of them solo completing gens in like 45 seconds so take from that what you will
-
I don't know if I would call it OP in its previous state, but it was certainly annoying as hell. Imagine getting DSed over and over just trying to get a measly 2.5% regression or even losing your Pop because youre stuck and can't move. Before DS was changed, sometimes taking a DS stun would straight up lose you the game, so imagine getting Blast Mined 3 or 4 times a game
-
Survivors can solo complete gens in under 50 seconds now what are you crying about lmao
-
Killer can't hold a 3-gen against CoH with 3+ players. I had this happen in a game against some sweats yesterday. They had a boon up in the main building of Garden of Joy with a 3-gen near the opposite corner. Everytime I hit someone and they would immediately run to the main building that would have been a game losing chase, so they just heal and come back. Most boring gameplay on Earth
-
Because boons are fun for survivors
-
My favorite is running Lethal and seeing 4 survivors all spawning on 4 different gens. Basically an auto loss unless they go down in 5 seconds in chase. I've ran Discordance before and had more than a few games where it didn't proc once until there was one gen left. High MMR sucks
-
A gen rush perk that rewards seasoned players with insane gen completion speeds is definitely not problematic design in DbD lmao
-
No one has ever played DbD at a party lol
-
They should have made this perk do literally anything else. Waiting to hit a survivor because of Dead Hard is wildly unfun gameplay
-
For me, Skilled Huntress on PS5. I'm at 34% currently with little to no farming. I try to farm at the exit gates if it's possible at the end, but most survivors are dicks and will dodge the hatchets even though they're thrown from a mile away and they're in no danger of not escaping.
This new escape RPD 20 times while opening the gates seems even more daunting
-
Absolutely never unless they're an obvious baby. Survivors are way too toxic to ever regularly give hatch or exit gates to.
-
I know it's a niche situation, but I did camp through a Reassurance in one of my recent killer games. I hooked someone and barely even left the room they were hooked in when they started trying to kobe. I knew someone was nearby so I turned right back around and they used 2 of their attempts and then their buddy proced Reassurance. I definitely waited that out. You want to do that, you're giving up a hook state
-

There are a couple of middle of the road streamers that I watch, and I am pretty convinced they wall hack. You would never be able to prove it though.
Can they cover that up live though, or were they doing it offstream? This person wasn't live when they cheated against me
-
All perks are a problem in solo queue! Give us basekit 80 second BT! Basekit old DS! Killer loses all BP if they stay within 24m of hook for more than 7 seconds!!
-
I haven't seen the new content, is there Wesker Rebecca outfit from RE: Zero?

If it's a blatant hacker chances are you didn't get a response because they were already banned.
They're on Steam and I can see they don't have a game ban on record. It wasn't "blatant" like flying around all over the place, but it was a subtle speed hacker that made it blatant when they were the last one alive so they could get the hatch. There's no way you could look at the footage and think it's legit though, they gave themselves like a 10 second speed boost after getting hit.

You can't just report them in game, you need to record it and make a ticket on the website.
I did all that. In game report, additional report, and video evidence
-
Yup. Really disheartening. Last time I waste my time reporting someone. I wanted to make a post about it but I don't have any software/video editing knowhow to redact the names from the vid
-
@Laluzi said:
It's not considered an offense and isn't worth reporting, though it is plainly griefing and it's unfortunate that BHVR doesn't seem to have any desire to reduce this kind of behavior.
BHVR loves toxicity lol. As long as it keeps people playing. Remember when they made the new animations and said they made sure to make sure teabagging was still satisfying? Lol

Yes, it was closed finally a couple days ago

They do. I've got a list of these.
The last one I've reported just got banned yesterday. It took 25 days though.
You've had a better experience than me. I reported a subtle speed hacker that turned blatant to get hatch. I did everything properly and reported them with video evidence. 30 days and not banned. I know cause they're on Steam and a small streamer.
-
They don't ban for blatant hacking, they aren't going to ban for bleeding out survivors
-
The changes were fine! The REAL skilled Wesker mains won't even notice the changes, it's the bad ones that will have to move to Demogorgon or something. He's much more fun to play against now
-
Yes let's add a gen rush perk so the 3k+ hour survivors that never miss greats anyways can have even faster gens they're split up on. Excellent idea

You're well aware....You can see it on top of the gen, right ?
Killers don't see it at all, only the survivors do

Dude, so you kick the gen twice. Blast mine doesn't prevent you from getting your OC.
I mean I find it annoying to be hit by a Huntress Iri hatchet from across a corn field, through a shed and around a corner, but I just have to live with it.
People used to complain about old DS causing them to lose games all the time because of the stun length. Blast Mine is the same length and can easily happen to you 3 to 4 times in a match
-
@Laluzi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3158818#Comment_3158818
DS involves losing a down. Blast Mine is just a stun, and a completely avoidable one at that. It is by no means a strong perk. It's slightly annoying at best.
You're underselling how annoying it is. It's an old DS stun where you can't move or do anything and sometimes you lose your Pop Goes the Weasel because of it. You also can't see the mine itself. It's only avoidable if you just don't run any gen kicking perks or don't kick gens at all.
-
Maybe the devs decided to play killer for once and realized how annoying this perk is. It's so annoying getting DSed over and over in a trial just trying to get a whopping 2.5% regression and an overcharge proc
-
I haven't seen the new content, does she have the Little Red Riding Hood cosmetic?

Im bad at killer and would like to get easy wins. Would you please provide some of your game play footage showing me how you get easy wins with Nurse?
Lol you're going to be waiting a long time. The reason people main survivor is because it's significantly less difficult and stressful than killer. They can't handle it
-
Windows of Opportunity is busted. It turns potato survivors into serviceable loopers that never run into dead zones

1% of survivors that manage to counter a nurse for 1 match does not make her balanced for the 99% that can't
and no that doesn't mean the 99% need to 'get good' if they're casual players
Wow that sounds just like 4 man SWF vs typical killer
-
He really hated fire in Resident Evil: Code Veronica X and spent some time at the Antarctic Base, so I'm going with Ormond
