My fun is when you eat the floor. I am not entertained by having you circle the shack four times just to drop the pallet.
That is fair, but zoning killers are only going to lead to prethrown pallets and an eventual down. Very little actual interaction other than kicking pallets. Maybe for you all you want is to down survivors no matter the cost, but for other people who genuinely enjoy the chasing it ruins the game.

I am sorry, just the title alone had me laughing. Then again, I am not really a survivor main that thought Trickster, Pinhead, or Artist were anything but laughable side grades to vastly superior killers. I expect Sadako will suck unless they finally realized that maybe people would play the new killer for longer than a week if it was viable.
The title has you laughing but then you literally talk about how a lot of killers are out preformed by other ones lmao

To your point about zoning killers: I really think the devs should get away from this style of killer. So many killers are essentially copy/paste in how they play with slight variations. You hold M2 and either use your power or zone with it for a free hit. None of those killers are particularly efficient when the game is optimized. You end up with stale gameplay.
I suspect it's a financial decision. They don't have to change maps, tile spawns, assets, or core gameplay. They can just design killers around the problem they created with the maps. But I don't think you end up with a better game at the end of the day. Those killers are hard capped in terms of skill and how well they can do in an optimized setting. There's no back and forth or flavor to the chase. You counter all of them by playing ultra safe and not engaging at all.
Yes. Zoning killers take away everything thats fun in chases. There is no push and pull or skill difference with them. It's just predrop the pallet and hold W. Survivors don't want to instantly die when looping and killers aren't going to just not kill survivors. Its frustrating for both sides since neither will have their fun.

A lot of killers have been powercrept out of the game...BY SURVIVOR PERKS!
Most old style M1 killers just flatout can't win against the survivor perk these days as Strategies such as "Hit and Run" which is used by a lot of older killers aren't viable due to Circle of Healing alone.
Let alone maps since the removal of infinite loops have only gotten WORSE for the killers with the introduction of "Breakable" infinite loops that came with breakable walls.
Even map reworks have all universally been survivor sided with "Breakable" wall infinite loops being introduced to them.
This is true as well.

Ruin usually lasts me about a gen or two. Which is fine because it buys a lot of time for the most part.
Devour is cleansed on the loading screen tho.
-
I like the idea of having a perk that interacts with boons. Kind of like a reverse hex perk.
Boons in general need to be expanded upon in their concept. One way I would do that is to make boon perks compliment each other to be powerful. Rather than offering benefits for the whole team with one perk slot. It would balance load outs a lot more, as survivors could have 1 boon perk, but its not very strong. Or they could dedicate to boons and reap strong benefits at the sacrifice of exhaustion perks or other self preserving perks.
-
I think corrupt would be a bad idea in all fairness. I understand the idea behind it. But in practice it would make running a bunch of slow down perks even stronger. Perpetuating the cycle of meta perks to counter other meta perks and all that.
The BT isnt a horrible idea. It would need some other conditions tho so people couldnt just farm people off hooks all the time. We definitely need some counter measures to tunneling.

If you wanted to get my attention, there are better and more friendly ways to do it. Certainly ones that do not involve straight up insulting something I hold close to my heart.
Now, what is it that you want to discuss?
not the guy ur replying to but tell me why u miss old freddy so much. i do miss that he lost a lot of his uniqueness and turned into a mesh of every killer power in the most boring way. but i also feel that the old freddy was fundamentally flawed in design and helpless in too many scenarios.
-
the game is not nearly as imbalanced as many killers say it is. a lot of people are just bad and want to blame the game for that.
-
Kindred and bond help a lot in making improvised plans and keeping up with teammates where abouts
-
Most licensed killers suck. They either zone or they're stealth killers. Many of them are weak and boring. Most times they're both.
-
Billy has always been strong. Even with the overheat he still has a lot going for him. I don't get why people act like he's a helpless beaten dog.

Why do people make brand-new threads for the exact same topic another active thread is about?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/303159/disappointed-that-blight-hasn-t-been-nerfed
Because its raising awareness to the issue. If nobody ever talked about how busted things like pre-rework DS or pallet vacuums then we would still have those issues. The only way to have your voice heard is to make enough noise until you cant be ignored.
Another point of this thread is to highlight the double standard and bias that is given towards balancing killers. Many killers have received necessary balance changes that have improved the overall health of the game. Yet, those changes are the most controversial. There's this stigma against making healthy adjustments for survivor gameplay. Everyone cries out for balance changes but more often than not they just want their games to be easier. They don't critically view the things they like and just slap "balanced" onto it. Then when somebody does criticize their fun pony, they don't take it into consideration and just see it as the other guy trying to take away their fun.
If we never talk about these things then we will never see things improve. And further more it makes the forums useless. If everybody kept their controversial opinions for themselves then there would be no criticism to be formed. There would be no actual discussions and it'd turn into an echo chamber.

Pretty much. Some Survivors think Killers are employees of Dead By Daylight: The Ride; they're allowed to scare the Survivors, but killing is against The Rules. 😂
if the only thing you have to add to this discussion is "us vs them" then you can leave

Yeah but in dbd where it's 1vs4, it's much more directed towards one player specifically.
If you play against a group or piss off a group on your same team in ANY video game, they will still chew your ass for it. Solos who fill in for a swf even get yelled at for things they did in the match.
These problems are not killer exclusive and definitely not DBD exclusive. Whenever you stop taking it as a personal attack it stops being effective. Just say gg and leave the lobby.

No, not teabagging alone, but streamers do publicly shame players for their playstyles and i've seen some say they teabag because they played a certain way.
That happens in literally every game that has ever existed. You're eventually going to piss someone off whether u like it or not.

To put it simply TTVs usually come across to me like the popular kids who are bullies in school. When twitch streamers use things like flashlights and stun perks, and teabag you when you lose, all whilst streaming it to a possibly large audience it feels humiliating. But like you know, there's a lot of TTVs who might not even be streaming, or are actually nice. But assuming the worst is what can keep you safe.
Just my POV.
its a video game dude. nobody is personally shaming you/harassing you by teabagging.

Uh:
- 4 slowdown Blight would be inefficient. Alchemist's Ring is something that everyone and their dog knows is OP, but by the stats...Blight looks fine, so no changes.
- Video+Ruin Undying is incredibly fragile and top heavy.
I think that a lot of killers are just hurting right now, due to bizarro changes and nerfs, the new Boil Over basically allowing legitimized griefing and SBMM pooping the sheets at night these days. The fact that my killer queues are now instant even in the daytime is concerning - it means that the sheer imbalance of the factions is going to start completely breaking SBMM soon unless BHVR somehow finds a way to get more killer players into the mix.
Already this has proven my point that what-about-ism completely derails conversations. It wasn't a balance discussion about any of these topics but now it is. And the conversation is now pointless.
-
oni is the only one with an actual skill ceiling. the other two are pretty simple and dont offer much.

You aren't wrong - but it's a bit stinky to try to get a killer perk nerfed when there are far, far more annoying and powerful survivor perks in the wild.
If you are pointing out an inconsistency or a higher priority change needed, that's not whataboutism. If my car has a scratched door and a busted muffler, and I complain about the door my mates aren't whatabouting when they tell me to get the muffler fixed first.
yea but this isn't a dead hard discussion. bringing up random unrelated topics won't help anything.
As for annoying and powerful perks the same exact thing could be said about killer. What about 4 slowdowns and alch ring blight? Video tape and ruin+undying pig? Pinhead with engineers fang or impaling wire? None of those are fun for survivor. I think those should be reworked too. They are very unfun to play against and give the killer a massive advantage just for bringing it.
^ That is the exact same as complaining about dead hard in unrelated threads. ^
I get dead hard is one perk while those are a combination. And I'm not saying DH shouldn't be a priority. But when we start throwing around unrelated suggestions it can and usually will just spiral out into a different conversation that offers nothing of use. That's the point I'm trying to make.
-
stealth killer with a mid range anti loop zoning ability.
-
She's a 115 killer who shuts down every common loop. Her power is solely made for zoning. You can gen snipe, but that's about it when it comes to interactive gameplay. Basically just makes her a long distance legion.
Her power offers nothing in terms of interactive gameplay. An Artist will get to a loop, place a crow, and now you have to dip. Either you take a hit while leaving or you take a hit when looping. No matter what she will always win the chase if the killer is competent and knows how to use her. She's a lot like pyramid head where the best way to loop her is to not loop at all. Which leaves the only option being hold w until she catches up. It sucks for both sides and removes everything that makes dbd fun.
-
Its literally just die. Any artist with a brain is going to zone u to where u cant break the crow.

Tbh most killers are either super terrible, don't do anything interesting or are stupid strong with certain builds/add-ons. It makes the game boring for both sides when I play. For playing killer my options are very few and far between. And if I don't run the easy mode set ups I'm bound to reach a point where that's the only way I can keep up.
Survivor is dull as well because of it since you either get facecamping bubbas with noed or you go against alchemist ring blights. I guess the biggest problem is there's too much stuff to ruin the fun for the other side. And those happen to be the best things.
-
thank you bhvr for once u do something right
-
are u seriously asking the dbd community to have fun? with an event?!!?!
-
play more hockey bro idk what to tell u
-
Pyramid Head's shockwave does not work against higher skill players. Considering they even stay at a loop long enough for you to use it. More often than not the most you can do is fake it. It works well at shack or places with low visibility.
The reason I stopped maining PH was because of this. Smart survs run away from loops and it just becomes you chasing them down as a m1 killer. The best counterplay against him makes him extremely boring to play as. Not really complaining about survivors countering him, because obviously that's what they're suppose to do. Just wish the counter was more interesting.
-
Buying the entire game (dlc and base game) is nearly over 100 dollars the last time I counted. And with all of the good skins being around 10-15 bucks, it wouldn't kill them to give us more shards. Especially considering that fact that you can only buy like 1 or 2 skins max with shards for most characters. They don't actually have anything to lose. They're just being greedy as per usual.
-
The numbers they give suck. They're extremely vague and really don't serve to clarify anything. Especially now with the removal of ranks. There's no possible way to tell the skill level of every survivor who died on that map. Chances are the numbers are inflated by noobs and they roll with it to make things look better than they really are.
-
people always sweat during events. survivors are getting their fair share of it too, i promise u.
it sucks too because theres practically no reason to do it for anything other than like a couple thousand more bp.

Nah, he needs a gun... Deathslinger doesn't need his anymore, so that might work.
Legion should erase peoples steam profiles when they hit someone in frenzy. It's the only way.

Nerf DH distance and legion wouldn't be that bad tbh.
Like sure he will always be a weak killer but it's okay to have some weaker ones providing they still useful. I do personally believe basic attack killers are hurt most by DH at least in my experience and they can correct mistakes due to the distance.
Would be cool if they added a weird effect if legion hits 3 people in frenzy if he causes the exposed effect for XX seconds. Bit meme like but youd know the 4th survivor location and they would be an insta down
DH nerfs every killer pretty much. It's a fun perk but it's also a huge crutch which gives me mixed feelings about using it.

I think he was really OP when he came out so they nerfed him into the ground. I've just heard this I wasn't around yet.
Old bubba was booty cheeks. The new version is a lot scarier and powerful. Plus he still facecamps like a beast lol.

pic related btw

If BHVR adds a sexy vamp its going to be female and barefoot.
-
I like pig but she sucks really bad. She not much of a threat. Plus a lot of pig players make it really weird and treat her as their innocent uwu waifu girl. The meme was the biggest nerf to her because someone will always kill the flow of the match and get pissed because they wanted to boop the snoot.
-
There's nothing to really learn about trickster. He has a bit of recoil which counts ig. But trickster is literally just look and spam knives. That's all he offers and that's all you'll get out of him.

The general consensus is that nurse takes skill to play so it justifies her power level. Unlike old spirit or old deathslinger whenever you went down to a nurse it was usually due to some prediction or effort by the player. That's really all that nurse is though. Just prediction. I don't think she's as hard to play as people make her out to be. I'm not a god nurse but after playing her for like 3 days on and off I got to where I could land blinks pretty consistently.
With that being said I think she's in one of the best spots she's ever been balance wise. 5 blink nurses were basically impossible to escape. I also think that she used to move only very slightly slower than other killers. But that was early into the games life. With her bugs supposedly being fixed this new mid chapter I think she'll be playable again.
-
I don't want a complete rework necessarily. Seeing a more modernized version of their power would be more like it. Remember that legion was never suppose to function how they do now. They did have a legitimate power concept, but it was completely stupid and busted. Behaviour had to hit the killswitch on them in order to keep the game somewhat playable. So that's why they're the wet noodle they are now. Injuring the whole team is still good but frenzy still sucks. Often times you'll hit one or two people. By the time you hear the heartbeat of someone else you're half way through the power gauge. It's basically speed limiter bubba with deep-wound. I would hope that they would keep up with legion being able to sprint. Maybe a dash attack or removing the heavy stun penalties on frenzy to allow mobility. Also rework their trash add-ons they're literally so bad.
