  • Well, considering that they unceremoniously booted out Dowsey AFTER requesting a twitch stream from him... I'd bet that, at least some of them, stopped caring a while ago...

McLean seems to be really invested in the players, as so do Almo (again, his thoughts in the balancing of the game shows that he doesn't understand DBD very well, but he seems to be concerned with players experience)...

So you don't like hill billy, bubba, Myers, ghost face, pinky finger clown, dragons grip, devour hope, haunted grounds, noed, iron maiden, make your choice or rancor.

FYI I've been playing this game for four years and I'm a huntress main who has never used iri heads, however with the new iri add on I will be pairing them up and using it to change up her playstyle. Just because people don't know how to 360 and make a huntress miss close range doesn't mean something should be removed because of less than average players.

I thought on not responding you since your comment doesn't even make sense but it's better if someone goes through it to break down sophism.

Billy AND Bubba - Both have a fair CHARGE time to start using their insta-down power wich when activates FORCES them to go in one direction. Bubba is easy to get a melee range hit but Billy you can actually 360, 180 or just juke to avoid the chainsaw if you know the timing. Huntress otherwise can wind-up and just WAIT untill she gets a 100% certain shot.

Myers and GF - Both needs ACTIONS before being able to insta-down, not the same gameplay but you kinda can compare the two... Meyers need to fully stalk untill tier 3 and GF needs to fully stalk to get the mark and BOTH have time lapse that the insta-down is active (Meyers can be infinite T3 but that's a really strong add-on and it is really BS).

Pinky Finger Clown - Needs to actually hit with the bottle wich is thrown in an arc (with the add-on is straight but he loses zoning potential) and his power is NOT meant to be used in offensive way as Huntress' do. Clown uses his bottle to zone and control loops, pinky finger clown is a totally different playstyle and he needs to m1 you within 3s of the hit (wich being sincere they'll do since mostly they'll hit from a m1 range) and considering that clown is one of the worst killers I'd say cut the fat guy some slack.

Dragon's Grip, haunted, Noed, Iron Maiden, and MYC - Actual PERKS wich are activated with certain conditions wich most of the time you WON'T BE AT THE SURVIVOR'S BACK when activated unlike iri head m1 range huntress wich is the complain. Also, if NOED comes in play you'd probably be losing the game already and is the survivor's fault that the bones are still in the game.

Rancor - OK really? A perk the grants the insta-down AFTER all gens are completed and only against the obsession? C'mon dude, that's just bein dishonest.

Devourer - 100% of the time is survivor's fault when devourer activates since -cleanse = no perk- and you only can insta-down after 3 stacks wich have the going away from the hook condition, NOTHING like iri head.

But go on, continue defending the poor play m1 iri huntress with passion.

  • You also can't hit them downwards in stairs, it's been bugged from a while and the Devs don't give a f. Yet another bug on this bug mess of a game that we love and hate in a strange relationship.

I like the rework. I always see people who want addons which change the playsytle of the killer and this addon accomplishes that.

The problem with the distant requirement could be that it would make good huntresses really strong and survivor would play weird.(Waiting or running towards huntress)

Now some people say bad killer would just get close and would have it easy. But Huntress is 110%. If she gets close a Bubba or Billy would have it easier and down you, too. My problem is a camping huntress, but Bubba is still worse and a huntress without addons can camp very well with the build-in stbfl, too.

I can understand your point and going against a M1lly or a Melee Bubba is not fun but think about it: Both of them have way longer charge time and once charged their powers force them to go into de face direction so you have a little time for a quick turn and make them screw themselves (billy is way easier than bubba 'cause of hitboxes but...)

Huntress can windup in your face and just wait untill you stop spinning or untill she can catch your "jukes" and then let go...

  • @Harold_Shipman said:

Iri heads should be able to go through objects and insta down after travelling, with no penalty to the number carried, hitting people across the map with bitter murmur after they finish a gen for an insta down would be hilarious

That would be insanely broken my man hahahaha, but if iri head made the hatchets phase through I wouldn't mind, perhaps increase the amount of hatchets I'd take to down someone since it would remove entirely the counterplay and objectively would make huntress better than nurse.

  • @Kirkylad said:

The biggest complaint about it over the years was that it could stack with infantry belt. Now they can't do that anymore most people are okay with it, but there will always be the ones that complain until it's nerfed into the ground, like with most killer add ons.

Yeah, no, I don't care if a huntress can load 1-3-5-10 iri heads if she needs skill to hit with one. If you read the post you'll notice that what I'm complaining is that the player experience of getting downed by a melee insta hatchet will not improve with or without extra hatchets and the skill to use them won't improve too.

I'm sorry if you like to use it and think is ok to get in a survivor's neck just to insta-down him without any effort, but don't come here and say we just "want add-ons nerfed to the ground". And if you think that requiring a minimum distance for the insta-down is nerfing it to the ground I'd say you're being pretty biased.

And yes, I am a killer main and you can go to my post history to see that 99% of the time I'm defending killers and criticizing most of the BS nerfs that BHVR did recently, but Iri head, in its current state, even with only one hatchet, is still 100% unfun to go against.

  • @jester20k said:

So it makes her a Hillbilly that needs to reload after every shot only she has no mobility?

    Like a M1lly, yes.

  • @Hoodied said:

I like the iri head change, however the range requirement is a bad idea because I want someone to name 1 deathslinger who uses Iri coin

Iri coin is an incredibly bad add-on, as well as it being hard to tell how far away said survivor is the add-ons is really just a wasted slot, however the iri head change is basically all or nothing, you either instadown or have no power

Not really fair comparing the two of them. Hatchets do not have max distance, they can snipe across the map, slinger has a 18m max spear distance, so he can't use iri coin and spear you from afar...

Also, slinger has no wind-up and can quickscope you, hatchets need max wind-up to fully benefit from distance + speed, and they have a little wind-up even when you just click m2.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

I would also prefer if they made Iri Head distance requirement, but what can you do.

I mean like hitting survivors 16+m away would instadown, anything closer would not.

That would be a really good one, since it would require at least a little of skill and prediction.

  • No, not a bit. What I'm seeing is survivors being actually punished by being "ballsy" and doing gens in the killer's face now.

  • 60s is fine. 60s that they won't progress the game any further unless they want their precious DS stun turned off. It could be a whole 5 minutes for me if it meant that the survivor would just run in circles doing nothing.

More than 5, and no I did not disconnect any other way only maintenance.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2043561#Comment_2043561

Yeah I am aware but they are aware that steam does maintenance on Tuesdays, and the amount of damage that one forgiveness on tuesdays during those hours Steam usually does it; versus the damage that is done to innocent players unnecessarily is unlikely anywhere close.

One would affect some people, the other affects everyone almost always.

The thing is, they just don't care. When I've started playing DBD the servers were with some issues that would boot you out of the game, I've sent a lot of e-mails and reports and all I got as an answer was the bot response "we can't do anything, It must be a problem on your end".

2 patches later the problem was aknowledged, addressed and fixed, but I guess it was my connection right?

TL;DR: They don't care unless it's either hurting their pockets or their image.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Okay, so I get that you can't tell DCs apart blah blah blah but is there really nothing that can be done about this?

Why do I get booted from my game, lose all my blood points and my offering, and then get a disconnect penalty because steam is going through maintenance?

Can you at least consider making it so that on Tuesdays if you get just one disconnect that doesn't count at all towards DC penalties, and then if it does it a second time and we get the 5 minute one we can just take a break?

Instead what we have now is you try and connect, things are fine, and you get booted again and told to wait 15 or 30 minutes now for something entirely not your fault? I just got booted, got a 5 minute penalty, got back in waited it out, things seemed fine, happened again and now I am locked out for a short while.

I would seriously rather like a 10% increase in rage quits on Tuesday, instead of punishing like 70% of innocent players overall.

Just stop playing DBD on tuesdays nights, unfortunately DBD can't and don't want to differentiate DC's from unplugs or crashes...

Seriously what is with cold wind these days can't loop without get fatshamed by a hay bale why is the damn collision box bigger than janes damn ass it's bad enough the match was laggy as hell but when you get caught on an object that is a few metres away and is a circle I might add you shouldn't get stuck on it it's not possible fix this!

Not only coldwind, most of the "updated maps" have horrible collision both for survivor and killer. And I'm not even talking about Nurse's blink hitboxes that are screwed in all autoheaven maps since its release...

Idk why every patch it's a new fat shame/horrible collision in almost every map, how much of a spaghetti are we talking about? Even the slighest change brings these bugs...

  • Most of the times I'll just "tbag" while going towards he for memes, I can't take him seriously playing as survivor, too much "Scary Movie" in my brain to ignore.

  • You get notified of the exposed status so, if it works it should Only work 1 time, and you never go in the killers TR while he's picking someone up.

This is a perk that will capitalize in surivors' greediness for saves, blocks or quick unhooks, and the killer doesn't get a notification like iron maiden or infectious, so he'll either have to see the survivor or imagine if someone is around (If I'm not mistaken, at least when I've played him in PTB the perk goes on CD regardless, but I might be wrong).

Probably will be usable on Nurse and Doc since she has an insane gapcloser and Doc will just static blast any survivor who chose to stay nearby.

Freddy is kinda capable of facing SWF due to his inherent slowdown and anti loop aswell as his BT counter. Also has blindness to counter OoO if you suspect it

Oni is and M1 killer for most the match

Freddy is hard countered by what SWF do best, spread in the map e rush the ######### out of gens, even I as solo have a high escape rate against him (when I want to tryhard, most of the games I just go "huh... Gues we're having a 100 min game here")... Oni can be countered by playing safe, yes, but if he got his 1st hit early he'll snowball, especially If we're considering add-ons.

  • If you put Freddy in S against coordinated teams but put Oni on C... My god...

  • Idk, with MMR on I've played 2 normal games as Nurse (no much sweat, but no breeze) and the others were just sweat hell... I don't want to be oblidged to use double recharge or green + purple range every single game 'cause I know I'll be facing sweaty survivors. At least in "normal" matchmaking I can play Nurse with browns and yellows, or addonless...

  • With time you get a thicker skin... Especially when you learn not to abide by survivors' rules.

cant bully newbies,i let 2 players escape the 2 times i could play today

Yeah, I go for 2 hook each then let them do gens and stuff, when I see they're newbies... No point in go tryhard and spread toxicity to new players... But I'm away from Billy untill MMR is OFF

  • I think, as last time, Billy's mmr is bugged. It won't go up no matter how much you destroy the fun of brand new players with him... Try not to use him untill MMR is over

  • Kinda unfair comparing anything in this game with Nurse, but I get your point. Oni can do well without add-ons too. But the game is what it is, it took ages for the devs listen to the community and give the Bell Ghost windstorm as basekit... Maybe one day they'll do one favor and make bags basekit for the trappy boy?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2031474#Comment_2031474

Well for many killers the gameplay isn’t that much different and it would be unfair if you are a god like killer Main on one killer to get matches against complete beginners with another killer. Many mechanics are shared across (almost) all killers.

and it will just use that as a starting point until you have had enough matches with the killer to have an individual score.

yeah sure, I do not want to be throwed against brand new players, but playing trapper against veterans when you never touch him is kinda sadistic

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2031457#Comment_2031457

If you actually never play him he won’t start with a zero hidden rank but will actually get an average from your other (actually played) killer ranks.

But that some real BS, I'm a Nurse/Oni main, so If I want to try the trappy boy I'm just screwed? Mannnnn....

  • I have been facing 3k+ hours survivors as trapper AND I NEVER PLAY HIM...

  • I just want them to work on her 10+ bugs, that would be a real kicker.

  • Yikes. Time to dust off my Billy so I'll not get TOO MUCH bullied...

  • @Pulsar said:

Do not worry, they are going to remove her chain blink and instead make it her new Matchbox add-on.

Did I forget to mention they're gonna add more bugs?

"NOW NURSE CAN OVERHEAT WHEN HOLDING HER FIRST BLINK FOR TOO LONG..."

  • wait, when was MMR enabled again?

  • @Slickstyles said:

I don't have to explain how broken this map is. We have more than enough maps to cycle through without ever having to touch this map. The devs have the power to disable maps and Haddonfield should be disabled until it is revamped.

DBD leaks posted a while ago that DBD renewed Haloween license, so maybe we can hope for a Haddonfield rework. Like a good rework. Like, nuke all buildings to the ground and burn all the great fences of haddonfield.

  • @Moxie said:

Devs say it fine so it will never get changed. Its actually the fifteenth survivor friendly map. So stop complaining /s

I love a certain Dev who thinks lots of things are fine when...they aren't.

Don't want to point fingers but I can say it starts with A KEKW

  • Yeah... Imagine using a perk that you regress 25% of ALL GENS in the map right? I mean...

  • @FearlessHunter said:

Lol I didn't, they bought it by themselves and I just wanted to watch as I'm not gonna drag them into red ranks

A real friend would've prevented this disaster hahahahaha

  • So... Now respecting pallets won't be a baby killer strat anymore? I'm so confused.

  • Start the game. Go to a safe pallet. Drop it. Lift it. Wait for the killer to come. Drop it in his face. Done.

  • @poomanchu said:

The one where you had to heal a downed survivor was the worst one for me

You can do that with for the peepo and/or a good medkit and/or unbreakable. But it's a pain. I've actually got it first time 'cause the killer was greedy and I unbreakabled away and got a slug up.

  • Guess is time to last second switch to key and hope for a DC (I'm joking guys, don't get all upty)

  • @KingFrost said:

It's not that hard. Might have to grind it a bit. Also, apparently if the killer DC's you get 3 escapes counted. (Had a Myers DC because he got a glitch)

Well, guess I'll count on luck since last 5 games I got either 2 escapes or just 1 (when I got an escape) and in all of them was me the first to go. Sadge

What do you mean by "greedy"? Sorry, English isn't my native language, but I would like to understand what it means.

Looping pallets for too long giving him an M1 or an M1 through pallet. Just drop early and play it safe.

  • Yeah, they don't. I've stopped caring for survivors' fun when playing killer. If they meme around me then I'll meme with them, not the other way around.

  • @Mineguy said:

Played a match against someone with a flashlight who was named "Crybaby"

Match started with a clicky clicky for attention and I stared to chase the guy. He had the perfect small pipi build: Ds, unbreakable, dead hard and iron will. Played like a really good player and went down after a few minutes. After he gets unhooked he ran to me and clicked again because of the awesome "I'm 60 Seconds invincible" combo but ignored him and chased other people. After the round was over he called me a trash killer. I'm a rank 10 Trapper with 2 brown addons and bloodpoint perks while he is a rank 1 with the called perks. I 12 hooked that match but I'm a trash killer sure.

Why are People getting automatically more toxic when they are good? Like, I understand you want to be chased but why being a awful human being?

You sound like a new player so let me educate on something:

If a survivor clearly wants to be chased, that's the one that you don't really chase and catch off guard.

Yeah it can be just a clown who'll go down in 15s but most of the times the guy is good in chases and is hellbent in making you miserable in loops.

Even as Nurse I tend to not go for attention needing brats since most of the time I'll waste more time than I should on them and they'll really try their best to work on my mindset.

  • If you're not greedy and the map is survivor sided with RnG he's going to be an m1 killer for 80% of the match.

Even tho', Oni's weakness is survivor spreading, wich makes the game hard for 99% of the killers since spreading is pressuring multiple gens at once.

Also, Oni's power is not very good in short loops and T-L walls (unless you screw up hard and give him a charged M1).

His FoV is very limited while dashing and even more when charging M1 in wrath mode, so you can use this to make autoaim screw him in corners or low objects.

All in all, Oni is the most balanced killer in dbd (IMO) since he's REALLY strong while in his power (and fking fun) but has a lot of counterplay.

People thinks he is "OP" since they don't face many Onis and don't know what to do when facing a good one.

  • "Crouch in bush. Think like bush. Be the bush."

  • Nurse is the best killer? Yes, by far. But if you want consistency or just don't want to grind through her power and bugs, play spirit. Same result (in public matches) with way less effort.

  • To throw you with 3 potatoes (if you play survivor) or 4 (if you play killer) so it can remind how many boosted red ranks there are.

Playing this game for almost 4 years. The community has asked for a "health update" to optimize the game and get standard framerates on gaming PC.

    2018 - i had a i7 920 @ 4.0 Ghz + GTX 1060. I was able to run the game in ultra @ 60 FPS constant.

    2021 - i have a 2600x (50% more powerful or something) + RTX 2060 (50% faster) and i get 60 FPS in ultra.

What happened ? They changed the engine to go with UE4. Whatever, optimization is terrible an nothing will improve. I heard there are problems on PS5 too lol... which is like a combo 3600x slightly underclocked + RTX 2080... with faster RAM/SSD than what we have.

    What a shame xD.

But still, if you complain, the standardize response you'll get is "It MUsT be a PrOBlEm On YoUr EnD"
