This does not matter. You will just get a good chunk of your downs as forced hits or zoned M1s, you still take every potshot you can if there's little cost but I'm not saying he a turret that perma hits every shot I'm saying a combination of things in his kit he shares with less popular killers plus the fact he is encouraged to hit and run means when the honeymoon is over I don't think he will be seen as the great success he is now. At worst he will be disliked at best he will be meh imo. I think some people will like every killer but the overall positive reception he's getting I think is due to how bad killers have been recently.

A fair point, but I would counter that part of the problem with DbD's playerbase is that they take pride in the illusion of being a top player. Anybody can rattle off 10 wins in a row, look for a reason that a team was a SWF, and then decide they must be top MMR. Anybody at any skill level can find a reason to believe they're in the top skill bracket, and that's problematic on a certain level.
Just look at these win streak killers. They get fed easy 4ks for a hundred games but have an absolute meltdown the second they're matched appropriately and get 2 outed. Would players even be going for streaks if the game pointed out for the world to see that they were farming relative noobs?
"part of the problem with DbD's playerbase is that they take pride in the illusion of being a top player."
This is the truest sentence I have ever read but I don't think there is a fix for this because bluntly if you shatter this illusion players won't play as much.
In general if Platinum or Gold is the middle of a ranking system in a competitive game I can assure you the average player is as good as a silver player because as soon as some people start losing in a ranked game they stop, losing rank is bad and they do not want to lose more. Some players play for a while and try out ranked see they are not good so they never return and play the casual gamemode.
Another thing to take into account is most players normally have better things to do than put loads of time into a game to get better so they won't ask for ranks to be hidden on the forums or to not be told they will just play less if you change it.
I dont think this is a fixable issue because most players will play a few hours want positive reinforcement then stop the only way I can see to make a visible display how good you are work is with both a ranked and casual que but in a game like DbD i dont know how that would look.

I mean yes, I thought I made it quite clear that I thought the same.
I know I'm just piggybacking off your post to say why it matters by comparing Wesker to an unhealthy killer considering imo you hit the nail on the head and it has just been overlooked.

Competitive, aka something 99.99% of the player base will never experience and therefore is not taken into account when balancing things
Comp should be though.
There is never a point where getting better any game should make it less fun because the game fundamentally punishes you. I know people seem to think you can only balance around top level or the average or bottom level but you CAN do all 3.
I always think the fact so many rules around what you can and can't take into comp games and self-imposed limits eg nurses cannot bring agitation because they would just down people then drag them back into their 3 gens maybe the nurse has a problem. Comp is full of very experienced players breaking the game then setting self-imposed rules as to not break the game. Dev can and should use that its just another resource.
I remember when I played Overwatch near the start of Overwatch 2 reinhardt (a tank) was terrible but he was simple so mid to low ranked players used him a lot and he never got buffed and that's in a game with a top-down balance philosophy. Overwatch is an awful game for other reasons but you can do both BHVR just doesn't use every resource just the ones they want.

Were people saying this?
Honestly I did a killer tier list recently and more than half the killers were in A tier and it had me wondering if it's healthy for every killer to be so good when survivor is in such a weakened state rn.
I honestly think we're reaching the point for survivor that killer was at that prompted the 6.1 changes. I'm seeing the BP bonus stay at survivor later and later into the night lately which is absolutely wild to me.
Its to do with what killers deserve to be good honestly this comment hits the nail on the head so im piggybacking off it
@Sava18 said:
In an ideal world every killer would be mid A tier in power level however, within the confines of what dbd is and with how many killer powers are designed it isn't feasible. Ontop of that ideal certain killer perks would be reduced ofc.
There are few killer designs I deem fit to be A tier or even inching into S tier: Blight, Plague, Oni, Wesker, possibly artist, Pyramid head(a coin flip here, but he has some glaring problems that could fix the unhealthiness of his kit) and Huntress. As far as I am concerned no other killers could be put on weskers level without feeling awful to play against. Even someone as beloved as demo being buiffed by 15-25% in all aspects would push him to a point of uninteractivity. Wesker outside of his infection tunneling bit is the best designed killer in the game imo, that's coming from someone who mains blight. Spirit, chucky and nurse don't deserve to be half as good as they are, they are just far too simple and strong to warrant their strength.
I would have put billy up here previously but honestly most billys just return to hook and trade which even when put into the highest level of play takes little macro to understand the timing to return. Within the span of a couple months they buff billys turn duration by 33% and remove the hug tech, both having very similar properties and both originating from an something unintentional.
Some killers just deserve to be better than others because 1-They are harder to play and 2-Survivers have input so they dont feel inherently unfair to go against. When a good survivor goes down to a knight they are likely to think "nothing could have been done about that" That happens less with Wesker.
If Knight was made the best killer in the game but you had to know his power inside and out it would still be a catastrophe because 1-Its very simple 2-Survivers can't do anything about it.
If Wesker became the best killer in the game in his current state. 1-This would be on the condition you had to nail down ALL his techs because like a knight you would have to know his power inside and out (same criteria). 2- It would still feel like the survivor has more input in the chase than against a knight.
I'm not saying either should be the as good as in the example the point its that some killers just deserve to be better than others. Clown deserves to be better than Myers and Wesker deserves to be better than Clown and so on and on.

It's almost like different people hold differing opinions and not every single thread you see is part of some survivor hivemind or something.
Just because one person expresses their dislike for playing against a certain killer doesn't mean that every single survivor wants to play against a perkless trapper.
Kinda but the point is going a bit over your head that the weakest killer in the list of complained about killers you are responding to is Knight who is comfortably mid.
Most players just think- "This is strong I don't know why but its high on tier list" Then they go against a strong killer but the match was extremally winnable and a better survivor would have won but they lose then they go "Strong killer so op please nerf".
The killers I don't like is not solely determined by how good the killers are because as you said some people have different opinions and preferences but there are patterns Some of my most disliked killers are
Trapper
Hag
Trickster
Slinger
Executioner
Artist
Dredge
Xenomorph
Chucky
Nurse
Some are strong and some are weak but even looking at this there are patterns the first 4 are good at camping the next 5 can force hits the survivor has no agency over and the nurse is blatantly OP but a lot of players just go
Dont like Nurse
Dont like Blight
Dont like Billy
Dont like Spirit
(I wonder what their problems are with)
Every killer that he has listed in his post is comfortably better than mid and knight is the only point of contention add plague to that and you see bad killers don't get complained about because a lot of people who just play suv just want to play against bad killers.

Honestly, I have a hard time figuring out how I feel about dbd. I have been playing it less and less over last few months. I used to play it every night, using random killers and I looked forward to it playing. Now tho I have to make myself play it. I don't even know what killer to play anymore. Like I don't mind the metas of the game or anything(tho I HATE buckle up + FTP) but I will say matches are not really fun. I think one thing I'm tired of is my match quality. Almost all my matches are either me getting my a** handed to me or I completely dominating the survivors and getting a 3k or 4k at 4 gens. Very rarely I get matches that feel balanced and rewarding. I was hoping the unknown would help me get back into DBD but he actually did the opposite. My first week on them was a nightmare and I just wasn't having fun with them. The upcoming changes dont really excite me either.
Honestly, if you find you are making yourself play it play just don't. No game is worth it dbd will still be here if you leave the game for a while. People take the p out of the time the devs said players should take a break but honestly, it's never a bad call dbd is honestly not that important.

These forums are pretty unpleasant overall. Everyone is miserable about something and they will post about it even if it's not relevant to the discussion at hand. New users, old users, it's constant drama and despair over every little thing.
These forums are pretty good compared to other gaming forums I've been on (the overwatch forums being the most obvious) Where people just don't understand the game all that well lobby for changes to xyz character or for xzy op character to not be changed. (I don't know how people find the time I don't believe they believe what they type but that's just what I think)
Most people on here I don't get that impression from they just think what they think and type it.
Compared to most forums these are the most pleasant I've seen.

Just wanna point out that the really high numbers also coincide with the lockdowns for Covid-19, and is a standard trend in users across the whole gaming industry.
That is true but it accounts more so for the overall player counts not the immediate spikes after a licence is released. That is mostly due to the licenses themselves although word of mouth is important and bigger player bases spread that faster.

Hello,
I think we can all agree to say that some perks are better than other. Some are must have while you would never want to touch some others.
The thing is, some perks are fun, or are alright, but not always worth wasting a perk slot. I know my suggestion would be a really heavy change, but i think we should be able to equip an unlimited amount of perks.
Instead of having the choice for only 4 perks, we would have a budget of 100 points. The better perks would cost 25 points, so if you want to only use the good perks, you still have your 4 perks loadout, like before.
But the lesser perks could have a lower price, with the value of each one individually set, so you would have much more freedom and possibility to create original and fun loadout. Maybe it would be weird to come in a match with 10 perks equipped, and i'm sure that we will never have that, but i really think it would be an amazing change, and bring life to the 90% of those perks that we never use because of how trash they are.
Choy is the dbd YouTuber with the best takes on the game and he had a video with a remarkably similar idea but still with the 4 perk limit he just suggested giveing people a BP multiplier for leftover points.

That still has nothing whatsoever to do with pausing content to fix bugs. They are different things. They don't need to quit releasing any new content to fix issues with trapper's traps they need to figure out how to fix trapper's traps.
I know I just think they should stop releasing content for other reasons altogether I don't think the games even that buggy compared it how it used it be I just think there is so much bloat and adding new content loses its meaning less and less when it gets lost in the swamp of things in dbd now.
for context DBD has more killers in the game atm than Overwatch or R6Siege had characters at release considering the fact you see 1 killers per game there is more bloat in dbd for what type of game it is than most MOBAs have.
-
@HamsterEnjoyer said:
Do I need to remind everyone that I've reminded them about countless times?
Without CONSTANT content, DBD will die. We had ONE time in the games history where we didn't get new content for 6 months straight, the game dropped to one of its lowest player counts and was in the process of dying. When was this the only time I can think of is the gap between Skull Merchant and knight being 5 months but both dlcs were followed by drops in the player count after they dropped
November 2022 is Knight
March 2023 is Skull Merchant
(all I'm saying is quality trumps quantity)
I could just be missing something but I don't remember any massive gap in content (then again I take regular breaks from the game and have missed major things like release legion)
-
@BlightAbuser said:
Know what would happen if BHVR did that? People would start complaining about having no new content. A good balance of both is absolutely necessary.
Honestly, it doesn't matter if there new content if it vanishes too quickly so many killers have between 1-2% pickrates according to Nightlight (which I know is mostly going to be high MMR because who donates stats to Nightlight?) but it really does feel like it so the new content has started to matter less over time because the game is bloated.
What's the point in playing dbd as a fan of alien if you are only going to be chased by the alien 3% of the time. Less can be more very few people are going to play dbd for the first time because the dredge killer released ages ago that blends in to the rest of the roster looks cool. Its more important that we get better new content than the steady flow of meh we are getting.
I think its why licensed chapters don't add as much to the game as they use to and its why they have less of an impact than they use to in drumming up players to return or join the game . (I went to the wiki found their release dates and looked at the Steamstats for dbd, Yes it only shows one platform but its only only stats we have)
Chucky- November 2023
Alien - August 2023
Wesker- August 2022
Sadako- March 2022
Peak licensed chapters (the first video game chapters) + Stranger things
Nemesis- June 2021
Pyramid Head- June 2020
Demogorgon- September 2019
Demogorgon re added- November 2021
Pig- January 2019
Freddy- October 2017
I won't go any further as Freddy is when I started playing so I really cant claim to understand the effect earlier chapters had and as Ghostface was not a full chapter I'm not including him.
The game is just super bloated.

I can't understand the hate towards SM. She's not even a good killer maybe low B or high C tier. She does a lot of things, but she's not that great at any of them. Stealth? Ghost face, Pig and some extent Wraith and Spirit are far better. Hindered and Haste? Clown laughs at her since she can't really control when she gets hers. Broken? There's perks, add-ons and other killers that can do it better. Zoning? Her drones do nothing to you unless your in a chase unlike Trapper or Hag that can down you.
I enjoy playing her from time to time and the survivors that stick it out and play the match do well most of the time. Real problem I'm seeing just this mindless herd mentality that players have that refuse to to play against her.
She awful to play against. imo Bottom 3 killers in the game to play against still for me even after her rework and thats assuming nobody leaves and ill still try but the fact, people will just makes her the worst of the 3 so when one person goes im just going to follow because there is no point is sticking around in a 3v1 on 5 gens against any killer.
She either needs to be made F-tier so people stick around, have a full rework to her power, or the community needs to grow a pair (but I don't think they will).
-
Just gg go next it happens. If they only have 1 hook they probably should not be in that lobby to start with so I don't really blame them the only thing I would say is they should leave and tank the ban if they really want to get out instead of wasting other players time but thats it.

Gonna pluck out a line.
I know you are a long-time player and you know you will be camped or
tunneled at times but we accept that this is part of dead by daylightAt times, yes. That is what we accept. He is saying its a whole hell of a lot more than 'at times'. Longtime players, as you are pointing out in this very post, know the game and have wisdom and knowledge, etc. They are saying tunneling and camping is still happening too much. Those require how many perks? Lets check.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3688947#Comment_3688947
There. Looks like 3-4 to cover camping and tunneling. This is basically basekit game play if you want a chance to play at all. 6-8 if you want to cover most of the issues in much of the games in live today, but I'm merely here advocating against this tunneling and camping not happening 'only at times.'This is another nuclear take but camping and tunnelling is nowhere near as out of control as it has been in the past and it has been on a downward trajectory. Its just previously such as when circle of healing was broken or keys could open the hatch it was enforced by really strong things that could be enabled on the survivor end because spreading pressure was less valuable now because healing and resetting was so fast and killing anyone but the survivor with the key could end it games ending early.
But before it becomes a point that is mentioned you could not Opt out of being tunneled by choosing not to run these things because when a player with a key died they dropped it where they were hooked and circle of healing was useable by every survivor so when solo Qing you would run DS and it would proc regularly. Nowadays if you run it you wont see it proc as often simply because people just don't tunnel as much nowadays It has just become the most obvious thing to talk about since the game has gotten better and there is nothing nearly as broken in the game as there was in the past.
Most people I see running full anti-tunnel builds nowadays I see as the zombie apocalypse preppers of dbd top easily influenced by what the community's consensus is on the state of the game and not judging the game for how it really is like at the moment.
The only way in which tunneling and also camping have become more prominent is there are specific points in the games MMR ranges where a lot of people who tunnel and camp end up because they are often getting similar results to eachother so surviver is fun for a while for a player, then they get better at it, then they see more campers and tunnelers until they get better again where they will see less because the vast majority of camping and tunneling killers are just kinda mid players.
This however is not as new as it look however it also use to happen years ago before MMR was a thing. I used to joke with a friend that every month you would need to climb past the purple ranks again and get facecamped by a bubba on the way.
On a side note im going to make this as a new post and thread because i truly believe tunnelling has not become more frequent as time has gone on and its been on a slow downward trajectory but people just cant remember how it use to be in the past.

The issue is that I need to run OTR, DS and DH to stop tunneling. I also need Reassurance or Camaraderie to stop camping. I also need Kindred, Deja Vu, We'll Make It and Bond.
See the issue
I'm sorry you cannot run everything, but cover your bases. I know you are a long-time player and you know you will be camped or tunneled at times but we accept that this is part of dead by daylight we want to discourage it but it is what it is you cannot deal with everything but you do what you can.
You cannot make it impossible for a killer to do nothing that you don't want them to do. The matches you play will not revolve around just your experience you are one of 5 players in a lobby and 1/4th of your team.
Make a well-rounded build that is sensible and helps deal with the issues you are facing the most and play.
I also don't think you need 3 anti-tunnel perks, then Reassurance or Camaraderie in most of your games to be completely honest.

I like what was tried here. But perks won't fix whats an obviously broken game atm.
I run a few of those now and then in Solo and it's the same result. I can try to be where I need to be when I have bond, but I still need them to do gens/save/not be in basement/not on a chest/totem.
Give me perks for that.
I'm going to type a take that is mellow as can be but may be seen as nuclear by most the playerbase of dbd.
DBD in its current state is the least broken it has ever been and most of this community is massively exaggerating.
Also about the second thing you said. When queuing a multiplayer online game you are going to face players both better and worse than you. Solo Q is not uniquely bad in dbd because of that. At worst the lack of a comms system is the only thing that is uniquely bad in dbd but from what I've seen the playerbase doesn't want one.

Im not saying you need to run a full aura build as people are making out so im going to quote myself
"Just sticking bond in the middle of a meta build can make the solo q experience all the better."
And
"the nature of solo q means you will be inefficient killers will get ran past you on gens, you won't reset efficiently with your team, you will 3 gen more often."
So why are we trying to fit square pegs in round holes? Often times a perk that minimises one issue is enough to make the game so much but many players are fighting an uphill task trying to play what they think the game should be instead of what it is. Solo Q will always be worse off than in a party but the key is to minimise the biggest issues you have with it. It's why i never Solo Q without bond but as soon as 1 friend is in the party with me I drop it.
Single out 1 comfort perk and weigh up when solo Q is worth it over minimising whatever your biggest issue in solo Q is.

Except I can't run all of those at once.
Aura perks help solo queue and fix some of the problems but then you are missing out on something else that is crucial by bringing multiple aura perks instead.

People are acting like they have to take full aura every game and that's just not what I'm saying i word for word typed in my OP
- "Just sticking bond in the middle of a meta build can make the solo q experience all the better."
You don't need the most perfect efficient meta build in solo Q because as i also said in my OP-
- "The nature of solo q means you will be inefficient killers will get ran past you on gens, you won't reset efficiently with your team, you will 3 gen more often."
So why are we trying to fit a square peg in a round hole? If you have to drop a comfort perk to eliminate an issue really grinding your gears weigh it up and maybe you will find it's just worth it to do so if you find Solo Q so frustrating. I never really Solo Q without bond but as soon as I'm qued with 1 friend I take it off.
The game is not perfect. It's flawed and Solo Q is always going to be harder than being in a party but you can choose to minimise the issue but many players are just putting themselves through a sisyphean task for no reason, im not saying that you should stop complaining about solo Q or any of the issue but why put yourself through them more than you need to.
-
@Pulsar said:
If I had twenty perk slots, that might work.
I didn't say you need 20
Trust me just run 1 perk to minimise the problems most players who complain about Solo Q have very valid complaints but they never try to work with the game as it is and instead treat it as the game they want it to be and assume everything is going to work fine and it never does. It's like if killer players complained about gens going too fast but refused to run pop or pain res. Solo Q will always have its issues so at some point as a player you have to learn to minimise them however you can.

I don't think adrenaline needs a nerf i think the opposite at the game is it's a band aid because its too easy for killers to confirm one kill after all the gens are done so its needed in its current state
I think. DS and UW are fine and Adrenaline is needed in its current state because with anti-tunnel perks turned off killers can too easily confirm a 1k every game no matter how badly they played hence why its a band aid over a bleeding wound and they just ripped off the band aid before the wound.

Idk about you, but doing 7-9 generators even with stuff like corrupt and grim embrace paired on top of it is kinda getting stale to me. It's also just so much better than running other perks that not playing pop/pain res feels like you're kinda screwing yourself over.
Generally, regression perks themselves are not healthy because the game is balanced around the assumption they are being run hence why all the top 5 killer perks in terms of pickrate are somehow related to generators

Its a bit disingenuous to think i'm trolling, or i'm "trying to get a thread closed"
This is just a civil discussion here, disagreements are allowed to exist.
To address the concern itself:
I mean, the data doesn't lie.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/405382/new-stats-feb-15th-2024
These stats are the "average player experience". So based on this. Do you think that:
- Skull merchant is the most overpowered killer in the game
- Sadako is the second best killer in the game
- Freddy is one of the best
- Pig is one of the best
- Nurse is one of the worst killers in the game
- SWF only escape 3% more often than solo players
Either you think all of those things are true at all levels, or you realize that this is looking at all games played (and thus heavily sampling what we call the "average" player)
Further, looking at that data, blight has a 59% kill rate. So, are we saying that the "average" blight needs a nerf?
There are basically 2 things that can be true and both are mutually exclusive. You either balance the game around top players, or you balance around average players.
If you balance around top players, you basically need to nerf nurse, blight, and then MASSIVELY BUFF every single other killer.
If you balance around average players, why are we nerfing blight?
I think that is the main point i'm making here.
They (BHVR) don't think of this as the big nerf that everyone is talking about. It's listed as a minor change.
Aside from that I remember back in the day a dbd dev that i don't want to name because its nothing that should be taken personally and people often do and have posted mean things about this dev in the past. Said that freddy is the most skillful killer because the top 1% of freddy players outperformed the top 1% of nurse players (im pretty sure this was back when freddy slowdown addons existed) but this was also at a time when it was super easy to cheat infinite BPs
For context. you used to be able to cut your PCs access to the internet and all the game would do is not let you progress past the main menu while the game was open then cheat engine in as many bps as you wanted and connect to the internet again. I never did this hence why I haven't got every killer P3 and legacy Portraits but i know people did.
So in fact the data lied then because the top 1% of freddys could just slow every game to a halt and people didn't want to play it and they just turned their brains to soup against him. The data has lied in the past and as @GeneralV post shows is that its not something that can be taken at fact value today as still.
The people in this post understand the point you are making but still I think you have a distorted view of the average player because you are trusting that data at face value too much.

"Can there be anything done to make this playstyle less popular? Do you guys see it similarly or am I just whining?"
You're not whining there are ways to do this but it's going to have to be a slow process over time. You need maps to have enough to play with but not too much people can afford to consistently pre-drop while not being be too safe or unsafe because in one case there is nothing for the killer to play if its too safe but if its too unsafe the survivor is encouraged to take any distance they have and bank it W keying away from gens and hopefully for them to pallets. You also need killers that cannot enforce hits very easily like knight can but can close distance easily like blight/hillbilly with their movement or to a lesser extent clown/pinhead with their slows.
It's a big ask for BHVR because just saying make better stuff doesn't mean much and is easier said than done, you need better killers and better maps to minimize the issues your having. Everything starts there. -

Slightly? *rolls eyes*
Play both sides and I think you'll know the real thing. Watch Twitch too. Killers are winning all the time and it is painfully boring to watch.
Play killer: Wins like 99% of the time.
Plays survivor: Win like 1 out 10.
Someone says the stats show a killrate is like 60%. Did you know they are not accurate? People DC, people ragequit, people kobe. They don't count these and people usually do these things when the killer is like noob-stomping which is most of the time. The killrate is probably like 80-90%.
People please. The game is so killer sided it is not even a question any more.
This post just screams skill issue to me im sorry but im saying it how it is.
"The game is so killer sided it is not even a question any more."
Throughout the lifespan of this game for an average killer in terms of strength, it has been survivor-sided until recently when it has become arguable (which is the most balanced this game has ever been). The previous metas has been circle of healing until 2023 combined with old Dead Hard making every chase against a competent survivor a 3 hit chase so pressure evaporated instantly, small pp build before that (DS+Unbreakable) where survivors could consistently take 2 hits for eachother when combined with old dead hard mid chase after being unhooked. and before that we are entering the times where DS was an extra life and juggling was the only way to deal with it when i started playing dbd just before instablind flashlights were removed. This is not even mentioning the fact i have seen games where 4 gens have popped off the start of a game when BNP use to compete gens instantly (without that skillcheck minigame) and toolboxes had so many charges they may of well have been a base gen speed buff.
Contrary to popular belief this game has NEVER swung in either side's favour from year to year, it just use to be broken.
I think the game has gotten less fun on survivor I will give you that and I have made posts about this and the reason i think this is the case.
I want less killers like the ones we are getting — BHVR
Declining quality of killers and the survivor experience — BHVR
But if you honestly think anything other than this game is in the most balanced state it has ever been compared to its history you are just wrong and looking through some rose-tinted glasses.

The MMR system they have considers a escape a win and a death a loss and hatch a draw factoring in for hatch escapes 60% is reasonable as for killer a win is 3k and 2k is a draw

For me the problem starts with their 60% kill rate goal. This alone makes the game miserable, because they then do stupid decisions to accomplish that.
All the past map reworks did only do one thing in my opinion make the survivor experience even worse.
Then they do questionable perk changes all the time for both sides and why is their only solution for everything nerf it into uselessness?
I don‘t mind the newer killers, but most of them have one thing in common easy and quick downs.
The big issue I have with the newer killers is the only way to play against them normally comes in 2 ways
Forced counterplay eg turrets and the alien because the alien's power cannot be played at loops if the alien is any good you have to engage with the turret system so the core dbd gameplay loop becomes less relevant and whatever anyone says about the game I think the core gameplay loop is very strong hence why I think killers like legion are fun to play against because as suv I always get a chance to display what I can do.
The other problem I have is they can consistently force hits if the killer understands how to use the power and there is not much the suv can do about it I would be able to force hits against the best survivors in the world on Knight. That's not arrogance I'd still lose the game its just you can take the survivor skill out of the equation on him consistently, if I were a blight however id be run for 5 gens. And when I feel like I have no agency on suv it make me not want to play it. Its why i kinda think the occasional post from an suv player that says something along the lines of "Suvs are just supposed to be playthings for the killers ect" complaining about balance is kind of understandable even if they are forgetting MFT and before that COH and before that old dead hard and COH making most chases 3 hits and before that DS unbreakable ect.
I still think the game overall is in a much better place than it used just based on the fact the most egregious perks suvs have right now is For the people, buckle up, distortion and background player. That is quite a step down in the broken scale but because the survivor experience is mostly dependent on what killers are released (because as killer i can just ignore any killer I don't like and never have to play them on suv I don't have the luxury of doing that) I found myself enjoying it less.

Not really it's fine for a killer to be unpopular with a smaller playerbase that generally likes the core of how he plays there are 35 killers some will be unpopular. Singularity could do with some buffs to some things here and there but I like playing him and do not want to see him reworked.
Also, Soma family photo is not needed basekit it's a really strong addon hes just a difficult killer.
-
They don't there are other reasons survivor feels bad
-
generally killers pre chapter 15 ish
-
it doesn't even have to be a chapter but give me Scooby Gang cosmetics or give me death
-
My guess would be Vecna partly because the next season of Stranger Things is being filmed but also could be a Dnd crossover at some point as Dnd seems to be everywhere over the last few years (i don't play dnd but I know vecna is a character in both right?)
I could also see Springtrap as FNAF is very popular right now as well
I think Jason's rights are still in limbo bouncing around the US courts
I don't think predator because I have a theory that the skull merchant was supposed to be a predator because she was the only original chapter to have 2 survivors (and its not much to go on but her weapon looks like a predator weapon)
I dont think Candyman or Pennywise would be as hyped as the other right now IT 2 was in 2019 and thats 5 years ago now and Candymans release would be kinda like Pinhead or Ghostface imo
I also think we will get Walking Dead at some point as a paragraph but not a full chapter.
I think if we were getting dead space it would line up with a release of something dead space related so i dont think it is likley to be an anniversary thing.
I like an original chapter personally kinda like original chapters over licences because at there best i think BHVR can create some cool stuff but I know I'm in the minority.

"Why can the killer counter my strategy of running back and forth near pallets and windows, these killers are awful"
Next patch, the most stale, terrible killer in the game with no anti-loop or teleport gets released:
"New killer is so much more balanced, I can just loop him forever, fun game!"
Said killer becomes entirely rare, low tier, gets buffed into an unstoppable monster, then nerfed into ######### again, cycle repeats until a rework that op will complain about anyway. Doesn't fix the problem. Killer kills.
What you want is an easier game. No. Unknown is the first killer that I've had fun with since...I don't even know. And I play survivor nearly as much as I play killer.
Asking for better killers is the most subjective and opinionated ######### no matter how many things you list would be fine additions.
comments like this are from people who are not reading my OP-
I said and I quote
"huntress, blight, and hillbilly all have my favorite designs to both play as and against and they are all very powerful killers."
the reason for this is that they don't just prevent you from looping they engage with you doing it, especially hillbilly out of the 3 this statement is mostly about him. I don't care that he's strong right now I play both roles and have since 2017. I don't want Survivor to be easier I don't care so much about that I want the role to be more enjoyable having your agency to influence the game being taken away by a killer that have not shown themselves to be better than you is not fun, it doesn't matter if you say fun is subjective its just not fun to be hard limited in what you can do if the other player reaches a certain threshold of ability and i dont feel rude presuming that your just not over that threshold yet so you cant realise it because you presumed "what you want is an easier game" which is nothing more that im doing.

How can anyone not be happy after nearly winning 2000 games in a row? Sometimes players forget winstreaks are SUPPOSED to end.
The dude sepent a lot of time (I'd assume months) on setting a record only for 4 comp stream snipers to go out of their way to ruin it kinda would peeve me off too because that's not a streak-ending organically, he didn't have a bad game make a wrong judgment call but got sniped.
Records like the longest win streak not being set organically are kinda of a shame imo.

Whenever i hear someone complaint that killers are anti-loop i ask a simple question.
Justify why unmindgamable god pallets that make survivor's immune to anything should exist? Pallets that MUST be broken, and then, add a minimum of 20 seconds to a chase. Making it so if you just predrop 1 god pallet then shift+w to a corner of the map, you'll lose 3 gens at the start of the match?
Why are setups like this allow to exist:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DmhXUUrMYU
When killers ask for anti-loop. Its to deal with these things.
No its not.
Dredge has anti-loop, pyramid head has anti loop none of them can handle unplayable tiles.
Unplayable tile window spawns have nothing to do with anti-loop because they are unplayable to start with.
I'm going to presume to be speaking for the majority of killers here but I reckon more would want things like some tile spawns fixed rather than have something else in the game that also can't be played against under separate circumstances to "compensate"

I personally think the side quest killers like Xeno and Singularity are great, everyone complains about gens being boring. Here are killers that give you something else to do to be useful to your team and people don't wanna do that either. I truly do not know what some people expect.
I don't like them new suv players crumble against the sidequest and the new killer is far more likely to understand it as there are 33 killers in the game and often newer players will invest in a few characters because of the grind so they will understand the ones they play while the suvs struggle. It's why pinheads always had a killrate historically.
As an experienced player with thousands of hours they are just another chore honestly there is no solution to people saying "gens are boring" because the killer cannot chase all the survivors at once. It's why I think the survivor role is way less interesting and always will be hence why the killer presence on YouTube/twitch seems to be bigger even though there are way fewer killer players because of the format of the game imo.

Imo going through your list
-Flashbang- its fine rn it's gimmicky but fun and I run it all the time, I don't think you should pair blinding and deafening a killer at the same time because there would be nothing for the killer to do in the downtime but guess what the survivor is doing. Also, 3 is too many, and good survivors will bully bad killers but average survivors won't find it very helpful against average to good killers.
-Better than new- Way too high a number for too many effects especially vault speed and gen repair.
-Reactive Healing- Opens too much of a gap between good survivors and bad killers who will be eating pallets imo.
-Iron Will- Fair enough its kinda been gutted since it lost 100%
-Light-footed- Fair enough tbh.
-Champions of Light- Does not need any buffs, it's actually pretty good.
-Empathic connection- It won't make it good but I also don't want to see it tbh
-Borrowed time- If you mean you get 10 seconds longer I don't mind the idea tbh but I think 20 seconds is too long because there are just times like in the endgame collapse when it's just time to camp. If it means that they get BT for unhooking you nah.
-Blood Rush- 2 extra procs of sprint burst mid-chase on a good player is just something i dont wanna deal with. They will get so much distance between loops and use that distance to play a god of safe pallet so they will unbreak/heal I'd honestly rather tunnel a weaker link.

For me personally she's just another character to appeal to anime weebs, somewhat over-sexualised with that walk animation, some outfits too. Not to mention boring lore and a killer kit design that's unimaginative to play as and against and not worth interacting with as a survivor for little to no benefit for doing so. Of course the Prior chess merchant tactic doesn't help her reputation, that's beyond repair regardless of what they do to her in the future.
This.
Dbd misjudged its audience and I think the build-up to the current chapter is a complete 180. The type of player that would unironically type "Slay Queen" when seeing the recent killer data is not the majority. You can market to these players and throw them a bone now and then, look at Trickster, but with Skull Merchant, I don't think they got the balance right. There were complaints during all kill but nothing like with Skull Merchant.
It doesn't help that she was awful when she first came out to play against and just not a very popular killer to a lot of killer players.
