You haven't actually demonstrated why any of these things are broken?

Something being the strongest option doesn't inherently mean it's too strong. There are also smarter ways to solve perk variety issues than just nerfing the top stuff and nothing else, some of the time.

If you don't nerf what's strong you cannot have perk variety without causing major issue

    1. You either have to buff things to their level which creates but more and more of the game is determined by what you play and have access to rather than how you play as seen in games like Overwatch where in Overwatch 2 their is greater empherisis on swapping character to counter what the other team is using than in overwatch 1
    2. You nerf the perks at the top level and see what happens (this means creating a real meta shakeup not just a 5% off pain res)
    3. or you fundamentally change the game in a major way (reworking all maps and format changes, mabye you play 7 gens 5 survivers idk something major that makes a specific type of perk more valuable) and the meta changes maybe you get more variety maybe you get less

That is all that can be done.

I just want major nerfs to what needs it there is no excuse for Sprint burst being one of the best perks in the game since launch or pain res since it came out.

I agree with you that a lot of perks actually do way too much and impact the match way more than a 'perk' should, however we are way past the point of fixing that since it would mean that over 200 perks would need to be rebalanced due to having overtuned effects. For example, in an ideal world I think that gen regression perks could use an overhaul and be overall nerfed, but that is IF AND ONLY IF survivor chase perks and defensive perks (lets be real survivors use defensive perks for offense always anyway) such as Lithe, Sprint Burst, resillience, OTR, DS were nerfed aswell. T

The issue with this game is that the concept of 'perks' as a personal choice to help you win matches in different ways has been completely overriden with broken meta perks that are just SO much better, and BHVR consistently kept on adding more and more to combat the previous batch of broken perks up until I think the release of MFT where they started releasing mid perks that will never see the light of day. Sadly, the game will always be balanced around both sides using broken perks because it is too much effort for BHVR to address and fix the underlying issues of the gameplay loop which will in turn allow for perks to not be as drastic as they are currently.

100% but generally the point of the thread is i wish people would stop defending broken perks.

I feel like dbd players are addicted to powercreep.

So now we got a question: Are any of these perks "broken" or do you just not like them?

The average suv perk when I think of truly mid off the top of my head is something like inner strength, dark theory, empathy

The 3 top and bottom suv perks in that list (to show the best and worst without my inherent bias) is Windows, lithe, resilence or Otr, DS, distortion

The average killer perk when I think of truly mid is off the top of my head something like Bitter murmur, Spies from the shadows or Deathbound

The 3 top and bottom perks in this list (to show the best and worst by playrate without my inherent bias) are Deadlock, Grim embrace, surge or Pop, pain res and lethal

    They are broken

How about we just nerf the top 10 most picked perks for each side??

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0ILZABAWK9OS/image.png

I think almost every perk there needs a Nerf maybe except bamboozle, deja vu, BBQ, and Dead hard

Although in principle I don't think progression perks are good for the game, bamboozle's use rate I think is tied to killers and Dead hard idk what other strings could be attached to that perk. BBQ I think is naturally getting weaker and will continue to do so as map sizes shrink if the current trend continues the 40m requirement has stayed the same so idk how id change it it has a simple condition and drawback.

Almost every over perk there is used because they are the best perks and I don't like how for years many have gone untouched.

    1 by 1

    suv perks first

    1. OTR does not need to hide you aura for 80 seconds
    2. DS never needed 4 seconds it was still better than 90% of the games perks at 3
    3. Distortion i have a similar opinion to most of the recent posts gut it.
    4. Sprint burst has been the best exhaustion perk in the game for years now and it need to not only be brought in line with other perk but even just other exhaustion perks
    5. Adrenaline is a top tier perk after all its buff if it was just a free healthstate at the endgame it would still be good so it needs more done imo
    6. Resilience is one of the best suv perks in the game but most people don't see the value of 9% faster vaults.
    7. Lithe exhaustion perk that needs to be brought in line with regular perks.
    8. Windows is very powerful and give the best info in the game that you could have. It make bad players mid, mid players good, and good players better

    Killer perks

    1. Deadlock-Gen block
    2. Grim embrace-Gen block
    3. Surge-Regression is very good in 3-gen scenarios
    4. Nowhere to hide-Best Aura reading perk in the game and although i don't have a major issue with most aura perks i understand why we should bring them in line with each other
    5. Corrupt intervention-Slowdown
    6. Lethal pursuer- Was good enough without extending auras of other perks and now BHVR needs to concern themselves with with what other perks may do it lethal if they release a perk that shows a long aura reading time
    7. Pop- Still cracked and not just out of line with killer perks in general but also other regression perks like eruption (kinda like how i see sprint burst)
    8. Pain res- Exact same as pop

Edit-to finish typeing this i started cutting down on words in the killer perks section

edit 2 wrote 30 for otr aura instead of 80

Woo, Distortion and Exhaustion that's almost a Bingo!

Yes, they are the obviously 3 broken perks or types of perks Surviver have. The title of this thread was originally going to be "Stop defending obviously broken things." its why I mentioned harder killers being strong and easier killers being weak halfway into the post despite it being about perk but I decided to change it.

They are the "bingo card" because they are so clear of everything else in the survivor arsenal but broken stuff is fine by you because you use them.

You are the types of players the bottom of this post is aimed at.

    @Rulebreaker said:

Whats broken for you is not broken for me and whats broken for me is not broken for senior bacon which one turn may not be broken for whomever is next on the list

What's strong is strong you can try and say dark theory is op and that is your right. You would be wrong.

You are not a reality warper whats broken is broken and whats weak is weak.

  • They are it sucks.

Trickster rework has gone under the radar but it really ruined the killer for me, i want to see a revert.

  • My question is, if you’re at 3 gens and it’s down to you now on death hook and one other person, do you expect them to go for the save and sacrifice for you? If they didn’t would you then help the killer?

The other suv is completely within their right to obliterate the chance you may get hatch if they are going to die if they don't just like you are doing by hiding until they die you are throwing their game and refusing to contribute to the match so when they throw you under the bus can you be surprised. It may be unwinnable but they decided to play it out while from their perspective you decided to sell them out.

Personally, I would just die on Hook and gg go next but it's not like the other survivor is not justified in your post and the killer can do what they want they are still getting their win.

  • It's just saying good game.

If someone tunnels and camps you all game then slugs you out for the whole bar then says GG it may be tongue in cheek but if you lose a game stomp or not, leaver or not ect and the other side types gg it's just them showing respect.

here's the reason i think SWF are bad for the game.

because killers get balanced around SWF.

and i play the game mostly as a solo queue survivor.

i've played over 100 matches of killer during the anniversary event and only lost 1 game to a 4 man tournament team. no draws.

that's what it takes right now for a good killer to lose a match in this game.

Killers do not get balanced around swfs.

They have just released a killer that passively reveals his aura so swfs can call out his locations when solo q players cannot. Killers are just not made nor balanced around swfs. They are balanced around and also created based on what seems to be the easist pill for the community to swallow at the moment they are changed for better or worse.

It's why Billy got his rework, it is why they tried to rework the least popular killer in the game in twins, it's why Prymid Head came out with the ability to deny off-the-hook perks when people were complaining about the small pp build, and it's why they tried to rework skull merchant.

But its also why the perk meta never shifts they just nerfed the 2 best killer perks in the game from S tier to at worst if im trying to put them as low as I possibly can using every contrived excuse….

A tier but pain res is still S tier no matter what I can think to come up with.

Sprint burst has never left S tier in its whole existence.

Every part of this game is just balanced to not rock the boat.

I agree with you, but I disagree that nobody has ever brought up why killers run multiple slow downs when talking about nerfing regression.

They have, it is why BHVR increased gen times, slowdown gets nerfed and buffed constantly, the point just gets dropped pretty quickly because it isn't super impactful to the gen speeds discussion. No matter what, regression and gen slowdown will always be the meta for killer as long as regression and slowdown perks exist. Gens could take 300 seconds each and you would still have people stacking quad slowdown. Gen times are important to the flow of the game in a way that Distortion isn't so they are more likely to get axed under the unfun clause than it is.

Plus like, if you aren't running an entire aura build the perk does nothing.

I wish that BHVR would remove everything related to increasing or decreasing gen speeds just to see what would happen, I think if gens took a baseline amount to complete and it couldn't be changed the game would be able to hone in on the more fun aspects of the gameplay loop.

Honestly you're right about how people keep saying they need multiple slowdowns. I suppose I'm just very dismissive of the idea that people need to run multiple slowdowns, personally though I just think if pop and pain res were brought down to the level of surge and eruption stacking 4 eruption esc perks would no longer be the meta but it's never going to happen unfortunately.

I do think that suggesting that distortion does nothing if the killers not using full aura.

It just is powerful. The times you won't get pushed off a vital gen and the time you can hide forever when 2 hooked makes it powerful and honestly I think shadow step would be a viable mid-tier perk if distortion didn't exist doing everything a mid tier perk could hope to do and more.

So, considering i`ve been doing this nice aniversary 3 i should have asked this earlier, but only now have i been called a smurf (whatever that means), a dirty farmer and a few less nice things. my take on events is when i play killer i go for my challange, i hook everybody twice (if no killing is required in my challange), then i either wait for the last gen and open gate or do some chasing just for points.

anybody having a problem with that? serios question, i`ll stop if that pisses people of.

Some players just want to play the game and not win or lose personally when i see a killer farm or stop killing thus keeping me in a game where I'm not playing it's annoying.

Also being called a smurf means losing games on purpose to play against weaker players it kind of comes from other games with visual rankings where players sometimes have accounts way below their skills so they can play against players worse than them thats all it means.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Yeah those of us who have played solo queue long term know that there's no correlation between Distortion and useless team mates. Majority of useless team mates I get aren't running Distortion. I find it's mostly killer mains trying to tell us solo survivors that we should want Distortion nerfed to punish the people who use it, but reality is that a Distortion nerf only benefits killers. And they know that. Like, please don't spit on me and tell me it's raining lol thanks. I don't use Distortion but it's a great option to have in the survivor arsenal when it feels like every chapter release gives killers more and more ways to find survivors. Sometimes you're just sick of being found first with Lethal Pursuer for the third game in a row.

You are equating two different things to eachother

Useless teammates have existed since this game came out but players with distortion playing around the fact they can not be found and selling out their teammates have only existed since distortions rework I guarantee you based on the fact the OP typed.

Don't realize that SoloQ survivor is selfish even without the perk.

It's every man for themselves and the other players owe nothing to you.

When they use distortion they are using you to save their skin at the expense of yours.

I am going to be 100% honest even if you don't like it. Based on how you typed this you are, and I hate to type this you seem to be an "entitled survivor main" as much of a meme as that sentence is. This is as your main concern is something strong that should be nerfed on the survivor side players are talking about being nerfed and you say

it feels like every chapter release gives killers more and more ways to find survivors

when this is how chapter releases that add perks to the game work across the board.

There are more aura perks than 5 years ago along with regression perks, progression perks, exhaustion perks, gen blocking perks, anti-tunnel perks, unhook perks, on-hook perks, slugging perks, anti-slugging perks, pallet-based perks, chase perks and so on.

It only matters how good the best of these perks so when you say "it feels like" feels is doing a lot of lifting.

But don't take my word for it I may as well just a terrible killer player ranting so I went the the first big YouTuber I could think of (otzdarva's) tier list and looked at the killer perks he rated highly.

    image.png

5 info perks made it above his third tier which is considered the "decent" tier one of which has heavily been nerfed since and one is not primarily used as an info perk but to protect totems leaving just 3 perks there and does nowhere to hide the only one left of 3 that was added past distortions rework justify its existence.

nope, it does not even generously throw you a bone in weave attunement which is just not good enough to be in this post it still doesn't.

So you are wrong and as much as people may not like the two-sidedness of posts they can't say that and then make posts like that that are just wrong but eloquently put but clearly dont understand the side of the game they are talking about then say

I find it's mostly killer mains trying to tell us solo survivors that we should want Distortion nerfed to punish the people who use it, but reality is that a Distortion nerf only benefits killers. And they know that. Like, please don't spit on me and tell me it's raining lol thanks.

when you don't give any thought to the other side of this game.

Or have it only recharge ONLY in chase so people using it have to take the heat every now and again, I think that could work too.

I think the people asking for it to be nerfed or reworked aren't considering why it is so popular at the moment. Being able to see survivors as killer is insanely powerful and there are tons of ways to reveal survivor aura. It is a really comfy perk to run to prevent being wallhacked 24/7 or to at least know when that is happening to play around it when you are out of stacks.

I am not gonna say it isn't silly that it counters so much but it is equally silly that you can basically be revealed to the killer at all times with the right build.

That's the kind of nerf that most people that want a nerf to it are asking for though,

Also, I'm not one for the killer vs survivor side of the forums but if I'm going to be 100% real with you nobody says

I think the people asking for it to be nerfed or reworked aren't considering why it is so popular at the moment.

About any killer perks bar pop and pain res. This is an important distinction because distortion is nowhere near as important to the game as these perks for the game because as you said it is a comfy perk more than anything but it sucks to play with people using, sucks to play against people using, is very powerful in the correct hands with a stack more than solo, and the game is not being made around the assumption you have access to it (in the same way as regression and exhaustion perks are unfortunately)

A lot of the survivor player base needs to accept it should be nerfed it is a dumb perk even if other perks are stronger it has its own issues and they should be fixed through a nerf or it should be gutted in its usability i am fine with either.

  • You play a round on suv and a round on killer on the same map timed to see who lasts longer against the other.

Its cringe to ask random players to 1v1 but thats what a 1v1 is

  • @OrangeBear said:

I've always thought it was cognitive bias but this event im not sure. Getting way harder matches as killer and i played survivor twice and i got tunnelled by a vecna twice in a row. I think it could be a thing

Getting tunnelled is standard in a vecna match tbh you can't judge it of that hes like the nemesis meme on steroids.

The first player who is chased gets the least gear so others can hide easier when vecnas aura/orb aura is revealed and long cooldown on mage hand doesn't matter if you only need to hit an injured survivor once.

A weak killer that always tunnels :(

If MMR were real and worked as intended, there would be no point in hiding it so secretively.

    It is real.

It exists BUT only to protect newer players think of it like a big public pool with a shallow-end, some middle-depth ground and a deep end. Once they are good enough to beat a bunch of their peer newer players they get moved to the middle and once they win there enough they go to the end.

But people saying "im high mmr" as a crutch to say I'm better so what I say matters more are doing the same thing as a guy saying he can swim in the deep end of a public pool, therefore, all the new swimmer noobs better listen to what he has to say but just existing in the deep end means nothing Michael Phelps can float in water the same depth as me but I would still recommend listening to his advice on swimming over mine.

  • Killer: freddy

Addon: all current fake pallet addons give access to both fake pallets and snares

  • dbd is nothing near a party game.

If I had a few friends next could we play dbd for a few laughs no

Mario Kart and smash hell yea

MMR is not real. Just because you think you are high MMR does not mean the other 4 players are.

MMR is real but it is so loose people saying

"I'm high MMR so (insert point here)" need to stop using MMR as a way of proving anything

I have seen comp players from teams like x9, and I have seen streamers with loads more time in the game than i will ever have but guess what I have also seen players who could not find a loop in the audi logo.

being high MMR does not prove anything and I wish people would stop talking about it as if it does.

Unless they want to complain about MMR or praise its existence there is no other reason to bring it up.

  • I chose 3 killers I think you have underrated and 3 you have overrated in my opinion.

3 Killers I think are better than they have been placed:

Xenomorph: I think xeno is the most underrated killer he cannot be played around with turrets consistently because they are too slow to setup and give him passive info through a brown addon because every placed turret has to have been setup by a suv you can infer where people are using his brown addon to see turrets in tunnels. He has a 24m terror radius when his tail is up so he is harder to prerun when monitor and abuse can be used to bring it down to 16, He has mobility pre-setup where he can get to any gen very quickly and his tail is not something that you can play around the vast majority of the time.

Oni: even despite Oni's restriction that you need to get a hit to earn your power and will probably be aiming for 2 most games of different suvs at the start an oni in blood fury is as strong as anything in this game Bar Nurse. There is very little you can do if the Oni is good once he has his power so just because of that I would put him in A at least+

Dredge: I dont think he is a good killer but I easily think he clears all of the very bad m1 brigade so he goes straight above ghostface at least, Him map traversal gives him something that synergises with perks like make your choice and bbq and their are times you can force hits with his power im not here to say he is a good killer but he is in the mix with the lower mid killers at least as far are doctor, wraith and nemesis he dont hang with legion and freddy imo.

3 Killers i think are worse than they have been placed:

Vecna: The killer just is not strong enough to justify the strength of the DnD equipment for survivors half of it gives a steady stream of info making playing against stacks that are calling out your location miserable and the rest of it is way to powerful for what it is. I honestly think people right now are massively overrating him because he is new and the average players which 99% of your time playing as him you will be against does not realise the strenght of the item.

The shining light (as much as people may not like to hear it) is he is very good at forcing players out the game and tunnelling because even if 2 hits that are mage-hand-assisted takes too long because of his cooldowns just forced 1 hit on a unhooked guy is oppressive and the first player hooked is likely to have weaker items making him just a good tunneller.
Also because artifacts cannot be used when injured any artifact holder can immediately be tunnelled out the game off-hook from 2nd stage and killed on the floor.

Taking advantage of these things put him at the top of A but playing him in a way that nicer and he drops straight down to the bottom of B+ imo (I really don't like Vecna im am the rare vecna hater on this forum and i know I'm in the minority but this is why)

Singularity: EMP's can be used to cripple him and once a game gets out of his hands I don't think it's possible to bring it back without some major survivor slipups. Its just has to do with how many EMPs. Im not good at maths and its going to look a bit wordy so someone else could probably go find the info and

5 boxes passively printing take 100 seconds a survivor can speed that up by 4X making it take 20 seconds when an emp is taken from a box it starts printing and will have another in 100 seconds there are 4 survivors in a game if all 4 have emps 5 emps will be available in a max of 100 seconds bare in mind to complete a gen as a lone survivor from 0 to max charges it takes 90 seconds.

The best way to beat a singularity is to bully him out of the game get an emp first thing and drive by cleanse any survivor in chase if 2 survivors are doing this and one guy is on gens and every time he finishes a gen he drive by clenses the chased survivors slipstream you will win every time in a coordinated stack i have done it a few time with some friends he is a weak killer masquerading as a mid-tier killer. 95% of the time this wont matter but judging a killer off games i would have won on something like Ghostface is not how I judge what I think is good or bad how he feels in games I'm struggling in matters more and singularity flops hard on that test. low B+

    Wesker:

imo Wesker does not compete in the tier he is in anymore since he is not a consistent free hit getter, his power has been randomly made worse which happened around the time of the UE5 change and blights collision hitboxes changed even though nobody talks about it (only few mentions I could find below)

    https://x.com/crohmbs/status/1787937329379729481

    https://youtu.be/r0tl9DMhK5E

He just feels worse than he use to but that's me being subjective i like to play wesker and he has been nerfed in the most recent patch on top of that mid A

  • People do it's just that with over 30 killers in the game some get talked about more than others.

Freddy's players and mains exist but because there is 1) not much to him 2) he is old and 3) he is not as strongly distinguished from the other killers like Nurse as he is just a regular m1 with snares offering a little bit of help he is not the kind of killer to attract loads of players.

imo it would be nice to see a full rework and a Robert Englund skin.

  • @Souplet said:

Do you really think vecna is op right now ? Do you think vecna perks are any better than the survivor ones ?

    no and yes

tbh i think there is only 1 good perk out of the 6 and it's Languid Touch.

Vecna is however weak and people just need to learn how to deal with him the number of people who don't see the chests as the N.1 priority is mental. I'm guessing 99% of the people who wanted him nerfed on day 1 are these people because in no way is he up there with the likes of plague right now, a pretty simple killer that I think deserves a small nerf because it's not right she is better than killers that demands more than plague.

  • at the start like 1 in 15

Midway if I am extremely likely to win and snowballing 1 in 6 ish

  • Kinda if you want to believe you can sit in denial.

but tunneling has been the most effective strategy for almost all killers for years and the new killer is being pushed into a direction where tacitly being incentivised by making it his best to a further degree than most is bad (even if he is a weak killer) and as my post explains he is incentivised to tunnel.

He does not encourage or reward it as much as characters like Pyramid Head but certainly more than something like demo and clown (who I think are pretty close to his power level) so players on him will tunnel more than players on Demo and Clown.

The most extreme example I have is yesterday I needed someone out of the game so I forced an artefact holder without mage hand boots who was left on the hook for too long to 2nd then retrieved the artifact off them after tunnelling them off hook (can't ds that can you).

Bluntly I don't like him as a killer player I want killers like wesker, blight and oni ect he just doesn't hit the spot I want as a killer but I don't like being the survivor against him is great either because as of right now a lot of vecnas tunnel.

  • @OrangeBear said:

I don't think Vecna's power particularly has a problem with tunnelling. Fly doesn't go that far and has a cooldown at the end of it.

Killers like Hillbilly and Pyramid Head are far better at tunnelling.

    He does

Im copy pasting part of a comment i made yesterday

"It's unfortunate but the best strategy against good squads ive found has been to tunnel any player without boots from the get-go because they can't have the mage hand boots and just trying to get downs with flight of the dammed, fly and orb is a futile task but you can still easily win a 3v1 against survivors decked out with good gear"

The items are too impactful and his kit is not strong enough to justify them so you tunnel the players with weak ones to get the best results.

Edit-Its not that hes good at tunneling he is a weak killer, he is just incentivesed to tunnel because of his unique mechanics eg targeting survivors with weaker items/execution of players with eye or hand when after 2nd stage leading to tunneling them off hook being the best play.

I havent had a bad match yet. Especially mage hand feels very strong. Survivors that play mindlessly around pallets (of which there are a lot sadly) are getting hard punished by this spell.

I dont deep him to be bad in any way. Lower A tier to top B tier.

unfortunately how survivors play round pallets won't really matter once they realize that there are boots that speed them up if mage hand is used. Most games are easy right now because players don't know how to deal with him yet and dont know what items are gamechangers

It's unfortunate but the best strategy against good squads ive found has been to tunnel any player without boots from the get-go because they can't have the mage hand boots and just trying to get downs with flight of the dammed, fly and orb is a futile task but you can still easily win a 3v1 against survivors decked out with good gear but dragging out a game with slowdown while splitting pressure against good suvs ends up with them getting the best items then drawing out later game chases because you essentially need to win chases with just flight of the dammed, fly and orb.

He is just below doctor imo but above the truly bottom-tier killers definitely in the bottom 10 killers in power.

  • @radiantHero23 said:

It's the combination that does it.

After my personal experience of 13 matches, I would put him in lower A - top of B tier.

    Strong with enough counterplay.

He's far from weak. A killer with who I can consistently win with a lot of hooks and no slowdown perks against switched on survivors is not weak in my book.

Vecna is very weak and its mostly to do with the fact that he is not strong enough to justify the dnd item boxes.

When all the survivors have the haste boots he crumbles and 1 suv with the fly aura boots or orb aura boots will be calling out his location to partied players.

He would be a strong killer but the items cripple him its just right now i don't think people know how to deal with him yet and are not burning through chests to get the best items fast enough.

But Vecna has something like that with fly being a chase tool to bodyblock pallets and vaults.

Kinda but to call Vecna a movement-based killer with a high skill ceiling would be a stretch. It does not open up loads of possibilities in the same way Weaker Bounds or Blight Rushes do which is what I want in newer killers new ways to play dbd core gameplay loop.

Do you want killers like old skull merchant when they don’t have any chase power and patrol gens?
    No thanks

It doesn't have to be one way or the other personally I want more high-skill ceiling movement-based killers like wesker, billy, blight and oni.

It also doesnt help that Boons are an entirely underutilized mechanic. After the first wave of Boon perks, it took us a long time before we actually got another, BHVR seemingly forgot about the mechanic as a whole until Alan Wake came around.

Honestly, if they nerf distortion shadow step will become a pretty good perk but right now it doesn't have a place.

yeah definitely, I'm glad it got some changes because the concept is actually really good in my opinion and opens up a lot of opportunities for new perks, will have to try it with my friend.

Dont wanna be a parade rainer but i don't see anyone else with my personal opinion so this is my take on the concept of invocations.

I don't want to ever see invocations be good. I just think they are a silly perk idea that's not very fun to deal with as a killer because you get punished for not doing something that should not be expected of you (checking basement)

For Survivor I do not understand why watching a bar go up in the basement is going to be any more fun than watching a bar go up on a generator and 99% of the time you are caught invocating its because an aura reveal perk went off. It also sucks when you know it's your responsibility to get the save no matter where you are on the map or the state of the game when one player is on the hook, one mid-chase and the other is invocating.

I just think the concept sucks and if weaving spiders or any future invocation perk comes out and its good its going to feel annoying and cheap to go against while asking a lot from your team to use. I think weaving spiders and any future invocations forever should stay as trash gimmicks that I will use in a 4 stack going moneky brain.

  • All but Languid Touch are niche.

  • I don't understand why the map needs an increased rotation chance when offerings exist as people that want to see the new thing will see it.

Then again I don't think BHVR thought through changing the map odds every week in the buildup to the anniversary as when RPD had increased odds I had a friend who kept getting it so they just quit DBD.

Lots of people just don't want to play certain maps and lots of others want to see a variety of maps not just the same stuff all the time.

Personally, i haven't noticed anything different about wesker. I'll need proof to be convinced

Its since the UE5 update a lot of his timings have and hitboxes have changed

I've seen some of it is mentioned as seen in this video where at the start the pallet slide timings change is talked about.

    https://youtu.be/r0tl9DMhK5E

Finding specifics on it is a pain because there is nobody talking about it but here is a tweet from Crombs asking if anyone else is feeling the hitbox changes.

    https://x.com/crohmbs/status/1787937329379729481

His hitboxes are just smaller than they use to be now but because it was not a listed nerf nobody was prepared to compare them so they are just smaller and thats that.

Why is it that survivors giving up on hook is such a hot issue right now (has been for awhile) and yet I don't see the same energy for killers cherry picking lobbies?

I feel as though the rhetoric used to denounce going next could be easily applied to profile inspecting and lobby dodging and yet I feel as though there's not as much buzz.

    How come?

I'd assume it's because the negatives aren't as apparent as someone going next in the middle of a match but I'd argue it's equally as damaging.

I also believe that if survivors should lose the ability to die intentionally on hook then killers should lose the ability to inspect profiles and leave lobbies without eating a DC penalty. And before anyone says Us Vs Them keep in mind this change would apply to survivors too.

This to me would be a fair implementation of 'playing the match you queued for."

Because when a killer shops for a better lobby someone backfills into it, when someone gives up 1st or 2nd hook it leaves the other 4 players out to dry playing a game that's already decided 99% of the time.

This is not a "why complain about suvs doing x when killers do y" thing. When a suv exits a game early it leaves 3 other suvs and 1 killer out to dry in a game where. When a killer leaves a lobby someone backfills.

  • Honestly the Top tips I can give are these

Know when a killer is ego-chasing and runs the strongest tiles/building on the map, they still won't drop chase on you because as killer you don't have full control of the game some suv teams will bang out gens and bring the strongest stuff into the game while other will be rollovers what matter to most players is whether the game feels like a win on killer and that's not always getting a 3k sometimes that comes down to killing the player that's playing like a rat.

Also learn tiles and how to link them.

Example of what linking together stuff on the map. (its only the end of the video) Some killers just lose.

    https://youtu.be/JHkthkwyuZE?t=2522

If you use windows of opportunity you can budget link everything together because you can see all your resources and what your team has used It's why it's one of the top 2 survivor perks in the game.

If the killer is ego-chasing you and you are running something too strong like this or suffocation pit middle with lucky map generation you just win and will hold them for ages at that point it's on you to make a big mistake unless you are against specific stronger killers.

  • Xeno is 100% the better killer there are so many reasons this is the case, His early game is not held back by the infection mechanic and tier system, 3 hits to down even with suvs getting less distance per hit at a bad time in the match can be brutal, zombies are inconsistent, Xenos gets map mobility, Xenos 24m terror radius in predator mode.

That said I think Nemesis is the more enjoyable killer and it is not even close.

    L take.

If you dont like it then just leave.
You are not the only person on the planet and there are thousends of people who love all the collabs.

Nah this reply is the L take.

You are not the only person on the planet and there are thousends of people who love all the collabs.

Ignores the fact that thousands of people also loved Dbd's old tone and its limited scope to crossing over with horror icons.

I'm not saying that liking dbd's new tone and crossovers is wrong but telling people to "just leave" when they are talking about something they liked being changed is the actual L take here.

  • Im surprised there has not been a spider-like or part spider killer because of the entity and webbing and silk can be made into many powers

  • Generally in games as a whole-

If I buy a character with perks and they are broken it's fine by me if they are nerfed.

If they are nerfed by sleight of hand I see that as complete BS and It does impact my decision to buy things in the future because I understand that in a live service game, things will come and go but I want to know about it because I paid for it I deserve that at least.

Now I have played this game for years and got what I paid for out of these old DLCs so although it would be a bit rich for me to complain about it I know there are players with 50 hours who have just bought the plague just before she got nerfed or were getting to grips with the blight and learning his techs after buying him before hugtechs went away.

  • When the characters can be bought as a perk of a pack they cut the price in half so newer characters are 9k and older ones are 4.5k shards.

After the characters have been out for a while they get bundled into a pack and not sold individually the most recent pack was the endless hunt pack for example released yesterday

    Capture.PNG

so the characters in this pack have been made 4.5k

  • I think it's just a bug on the PTB to do with Vecna because I was getting blinded while looking up playing him and I was not using his vault perk.

I’d rather a classical original Dracula over the more modern iterations that Bram Stokers novel spawned.

You know a pinnacle piece of work when everything that comes after it mimics it.

    Classic killers would be sick.

Frankenstein, Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde and so on.

  • It's annoying but there are plenty of challenges in the compendium that necessitate it so usually I just assume the killer is doing one of them, bite the bullet, and give myself up because getting hatch or the 4k to me is not what differentiates a win from a loss to me. 3ks are still pretty good and a pity win where I need to be a little lucky doesn't feel like a win unless I was carrying the other suvs, then it feels earned.

    I'm not vilifying anon players

more of them act in a way that's not very nice than non-anon players

So you aren't vilifying them. But you are.

In short, the community wants something but wont pay the price of it.

You don't speak for the community.

    I'm not vilifying anon players

more of them act in a way that's not very nice than non-anon players

Hate to break it to you but anon players generally are less "nice" than non-anon players. I don't think you saying "I'm vilifying them" like they are a protected species that needs you to defend them changes that.

You don't speak for the community.

Yea I'm saying the community is wrong why do you think that's me speaking for them?

This is like looking a red team fan complaining about blue team then saying "You don't speak for the blue team"

I don't mean to be rude but I think everything just flying above your head

Or just ban the few, instead of screwing thousands of people over.

This statement can be applied to both the Bubba mask scenario and Anon mode players I'm not saying it should be, You can probley tell I think the opposite should be done one had to go (masks) and the other should be on the way out (anon mode).

    Then report them.

Vilifying anon players because you are keeping track of whenever an anon player does something bad while ignoring all the times non anon players do the same thing will never resolve the issue of people spouting racist things in end game chat.

I'm not vilifying anon players more of them act in a way that's not very nice than non-anon players it's just the way it is I don't personally have a lot of skin in this and the existence of anon mode is not the biggest deal to me just look through my profile and you will probably be able to tell I care more about balance than anything else but do think it makes the game worse and for a community that consistently keeps saying toxicity is a problem nobody here actually wants to see any changes in game to tackle it.

In short, the community wants something but wont pay the price of it.

one of the easiest and fastest solutions to clean up some of this game and mitigate the issue would be to bin off anon mode imo.
