Bought the Twins today they are actually broken. Upon unleashing Viktor he is 50% of the time HALF in the ground and can't move. Then my screen completely froze and I couldn't even switch to the twins, I was forced to lose my items, offering and forfeit the match.

Do you guys seriously think it's okay to release a "Beta" Killer on the live servers forcing us to do game testing for you? Because if so I'm OUT. I will no longer support DBD or Behavior games if that's the case. I'm enraged.

I'm enraged because I specifically did not play the Open Beta because I always wait for a finished product to play a game, I don't test games for free, I don't get paid to do it.

Bought the Twins, both games they bugged, broken AND you even had the audacity to release the hero without one of it's abilities? Been playing this game since beta and it's just been going downhill.

Yes this is why I find it silly that the flashlight nerf is getting so much attention.

Some people bought a whole new killer that doesnt work with either shards or real money, yet there are people that want to focus on a single item nerf.

  • @Spirez said:

Ive tried this but you can’t block basement stairs anymore from an update like a year or so.

So body blocking with her is almost useless? You body block a pallet, they can still drop it on Charlotte and victor dies. Body blocking a window or doorway seems to be the only viable form of blocking with Charlotte

  • @Spooky13 said:

You can't deploy Victor in the Basement or on the stairs, and the stars are wide enough for survivors to get by anyways now.

Is this all stairs or just basement stairs?

  • @Slendy4321 said:

Yes he should because he's moving character. This would definitely stop all the leave Victor at the hook with no consequences I'll just switch back when I get a killer instinct BS

Lol giving victor a red stain would be the nail in the coffin for this buggy mess of a killer

So players shouldn't complain about something that is obviously an issue (the angle is WAY off and there is a weird sway) just because the new Killer is extremely buggy?

    Seriously?

This Chapter is full of bugs, we should bring all of them up.

Flashnight nerf is insignificant at best

  • So youre saying survivors havent received a significant nerf since late 2018? Sounds about right lol

The killer hasn't even been out for a day. I think it's hard to put them in a tier until the meta shakes out, and especially when they're in a state this buggy. This post is about Ormond and flashlights. There are many, many other posts complaining about the Twins and the bugs.

Flashlights being harder to use is nowhere near game breaking and one item nerf getting as much attention as a whole killer that doesnt work properly is just silly

  • @Slendy4321 said:

Let's see how many of us are willing to put this to a vote

I think they should scrap the whole thing. Bring in some devs from left 4 dead 2 or people with solid experience, and start making Dead By Daylight 2.

The current game is a sinking ship

You talking about The Twins, which is in a worse state than the PTB, or Legion, who doesn't get a speed boost in Feral Frenzy because they decided to fix a minor inconvenience for an addon no one uses (Frank's Mixtape)?

Lol thats what im saying man. I want my killer grab animations back!

People complaining about a flashlight nerf like theyre game breaking while theyre are things that just flat out dont work as killer

  • @Wesker said:

Whilst playing Oni some of my hits connect on a survivor, but he doesn't get downed. @Almo I know you want to give them wheelchair to get ez escapes but this is too much. (my connection is good) and it happens just when I use kanobo

Yea but you know they arent going to pay attention to any of these issues. Theres a whole bugged killer that doesnt function properly but they will probably still focus on people complaining about flashlights lol

  • @Aiden_Me said:

The new flashlight is so BAD i want old flash! Please back the old flashlight!!! With blind animation and better light!

They release a whole chapter full of bugs, the worst killer the game has seen, perks that do nothing, and youre worried about one single item?

  • @Parzivval said:

so, flashlights feels absolutely horrible right now, the angles, the amount of time it takes to blind now, the chain blinding, everything feels and looks just so bad, I genuinely don’t find flashlight interesting anymore as half the time they don’t even work properly, the way it’s pointed at the killer and etc just feels so off, I get it’s new and stuff but still, everything just feels wrong, and I understand Ormond was a survivor sided map, but literally half the map is empty and there’s like 2 god pallets sure, but the rest are either really average or completely useless. Same with some of the auto haven maps, the jungle gyms just feel a lot less safe and just ugh, so many things about the maps and the updates that were given to them, I’m not saying there shouldn’t be a nerd to Ormond or etc, but everything else just doesn’t feel right.

They release one of the buggiest low tier killers the game as ever seen, and all survivor mains can complain about is flash lights being harder to use lol.

They still work fine to disarm traps and blind killers at pallets

  • @NAERUUU said:

    Okay , I knew it's not really good but , it's the build :

Iron Will ( if she have stridor it's useless )

So you are trying to tell me from 2016-2020 there were hardly any survivor nerfs. Yeah ######### out of here. Everything survivors have, have been nerfed and are a shell of their old self. Like insta blinds. Based off of what you said you most likely have not experienced those because you maybe joined between late 2018 or 2019. Am I right?

Are you really complaining that you want insta blind flashlights back? Lmfao

And are you also saying survivors havent had significant nerfs since 2018? Lollll

  • @nytkim said:

Most boring chapter in the game by far. The killer is very weak unless he slugs all the time, and spending 5 minutes in the ground is not fun.

Youve sunk 54 days of your life into this game and still ask for killer nerfs on a weekly basis, but as soon as they slightly nerf flashlights you criticize them for that? Lol....

You're a green rank telling me I have no clue "how the game plays at rank 1"? You a funny guy huh

looking at your profile it seems your a green rank killer yourself and 90% of your posts are you just complaining about swfs and survivors bm'ing. how bout speak when your spoken too?

Did you just admit that youre a green ranked killer? Lol. I post about all kinds of things, I just happened to focus on swf last night because Im a rank 6 killer that was pushing red ranks. So no, im not a green ranked killer, and unlike you I do not struggle at those ranks.

Yet here you are, only here for less then two months, posting weekly complaints about only killers. Youre a new guy thats just experienced your first nerf that you really dont like as a survivor main: the flashlight nerf.

Your a forum member that has asked for nerfs on a weekly basis, and now that youre finally experiencing one as a survivor, you finally have something to complain about that doesnt involve killer. Green ranked hypocrite

I actually uninstalled the game yesterday. In my free time im either going to play balanced games like Siege, or do something that matters like practice my artwork, or workout.

  • @tj0108 said:

i have been enjoying this chapter for hours on end now im am happy to say that the twins are not weak, i believe they are actually higher on the tier list. i dont believe twins lack much a killeer needs, they have quasi-great map manoeuvrability due to victor being 150% and them being able to switch between characters meaning they can pressure the map. Not only that, twins have amazing snowball potential and are fairly strong in chase. Problem with twins is that they can get punished very easily for missing an attack (like nurse and unfunslinger) so they can be punished very easily.

Other then that, i believe twins will be top tier but i guess well just have to wait and see

p.s. the new flashlight angle can f off

Your posts are so delusional and survivor sided that I usually know that its your post before I even click on it lol

Alright you sweaty DbD players, I'm gonna say it, and you're gonna be pissed, but here it is:

Devs, you're awesome! The addition of Freddy to Windows Store is what has kicked off this forum post, but really it's been long overdue. There will always be something that the community wants. But let me just say that the game has been moving in a great direction every day since I started playing about a year ago. I love the graphics, new killers, crossplay, commitment to reworking older perks and killers, and basically everything about it. I finally get to play all the killers, and that's a cherry on top. Can't wait for what you've got planned next, and don't let the BS on these forums get you down. :) Happy Holidays!

Are you really praising the devs because youre finally able to play a killer that came out three years ago?

  • @DwightFairfield said:

You don't need to release a new chapter every couple of months, it's okay, if you were to take more time on your chapters, then maybe you could come up with more unique and inspired killers and perks, instead of needing to rush out a chapter every couple of months.

The hype surrounding a chapter release brings in interest and hype but once people realize that the perks are bad and niche, and the killer is bad, then the hype dies and no one buys the DLC.

Take your time with your development, and you'll make a better product.

You don't need to fight their battles for them lol.

Still waiting for the killer grab animation, downed survivors teleporting, and poor hit tracking to be fixed BHVR

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING!

I think it’s necessary, and the right time for our community, the devs, and whomever they are answerable to, to come together to openly discuss what THEY want to get out of DBD, so that WE can get what WE want out of DBD.

The current roadmap and scheduling is seemingly far too ambitious as evidenced by the latest chapter and the very confusing patch notes, but my guess is that the devs don’t have much say in the scheduling that needs to be adhered to due to financial targets they’re likely under a lot of pressure to meet or exceed. I feel bad for the devs at the moment. I’m sure some of them feel a little embarrassed.

I don’t want to see a DBD from this point onward where unfinished chapters becomes a normal trend. I want to see a DBD where the devs are able to deliver their creative vision the way they intend, something they’re proud of, gives us players a great experience, and keeps their publishers and other financial stake holders happy.

I’d be totally ok with less frequency of chapter releases if it meant achieving the above mentioned points. But it would probably mean EVERYONE coming together, and a little more transparency in BHVR’s goals and needs in order for them to open to discussion on what’s necessary to give the devs what is needed to produce the product they INTEND to produce.

So... we need to be open minded in simply considering (at this stage), does the price of DLC need to increase?

Do they need to abolish the option that characters can be purchased with shards? Or, perhaps shards just discount the amount of Auric Cells are needed to purchase a character?

    It’s food for thought.

One of the worst posts/ideas ive ever seen on these forums, and thats saying alot.

    Congratulations

  • @tj0108 said:

######### is this new angle? Once again bhvr ruined something that didnt need to be changed. There was ZERO reason to change flashlights and the way they work. Why did yous have to make them 20x harder to use?

Welcome to the world of nerfs, where killers and their perks are nerfed every patch. Nerfs are usually unique to killers, but this time they've slightly nerfed a survivor item.

Not a perk, just an item, and the flashlight still functions easily for removing traps or blinding killers at pallets.

Now that youve experienced a nerf in your very short play experience, and you realize you do not like it, will you still make weekly posts begging for more killer nerfs?

As I said, you sound exactly like the type of player that gets gotten to too easily by every minor inconvenience, for example by the truth contained in the points I raised. Your post is the case in point. I suggest, unironically, that you try to take DbD less seriously, if a videogame has such a bad impact on your enjoyment. Best of luck.

The only "points you raised" was to derank, let survivors escape and play survivor lol. You didnt say anything about disrespectful messages after the game, just that you "didnt believe me".

Why do the "the game is easy for me, idk what youre talking about" people like you have zero self awareness? Lol

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

To challenge yourself mostly and to prove to yourself that you can overcome the challenge. I also get matched up with red ranks as a rank 8 killer. Is it unfun? Yes.

Do I wanna go back to green ranks? Yes.

Will it be fair for the survivors? No.

Even tho matchmaking is a bit bad rn, I still believe that when it works, the games become very, very interesting. I'd love to be matched with rank 8 survivors since I believe that they're on the same skill level as I am, so it will be an interesting game.

If you wanna win every game, staying in green ranks is probably your best bet. But imo the players isn't the problem, but matchmaking is.

Youre rank 8, one rank away from green ranks, it sounds like its your first time at rank 8 killer, and youre giving me advice? Lol...

I never said anything about wanting to win every game, I want to be able to lose games without being taunted or recieving disrespectful messages after the game

  • @Bwsted said:

Everyone is gonna have their reasons. Some people, like me for example, don't even try to push for high ranks. That's just where the system ends up putting them as they play.

At least as survivor the games stay fun all the way to rank 1.

Play survivor then? The fact that you don't enjoy high rank killer gameplay doesn't make your experience the benchmark for anyone else.

Also, I most definitely don't believe you at all when you say out of 4 consecutive trials every single survivor (i.e. 16 players and all in SWFs mind you) were disrespectful to you. That's the kind of talk that you hear from people who find toxicity in simply being outplayed.

As killer, you'll always gonna have to multitask and sweat a little. It's the nature of the game being 1v4 and especially it's the nature of the concept of 'top ranks' whenever that happens to work as intended.

If you prefer easier games, then just let the survivors escape after you've hooked them twice. You'll be knocked back to green and yellow ranks, where the competitions is gonna be more to your taste, by the look of it.

Why put time into the forums when there are people like you here? Its directly relevant to the game. You start by telling me to just play survivor, then you say you dont believe me, that im just being out played, and then you tell me to intentionally derank because "the competition is gonna be more your taste, by the look of it".

Why put time into the game when there are people like you playing it?

"Doesnt make your experience the benchmark for anyone else" - except everything im saying is common complaints from high rank killer players, and thats why survivor queues take 5+ minutes to find a game

  • @steezo_de said:

There is no point. The more you play, the faster you will get to high ranks. It doesn't take a lot of skill to get there in this game. You can get there faster if you do have skill, but if you don't, just play a lot.

If anything, BHVR should make it extremely difficult to get to red ranks, but it might not be a game for "everyone" then, and I don't think that's the direction they want to go.

As far as the BM, this is a topic I keep seeing. Maybe they'll do something about it considering they asked about toxicity a few times already in surveys.

Its not about lacking skill, its about lacking motivation to pursue those ranks because the opponents become more disrespectful, and the game becomes less fun.

Also Im not sure if, "theres no point, its easy, just play more" is motivating lol.

  • As long as someone isnt using exploits or cheating, people can play however they want

  • @TapeKnot said:

I find myself downing survivors near the basement a lot and I usually hook them there, provided I have enough time. But I'm not sure if I should be staying near the basement to intercept any would-be unhookers or just leave to find a survivor working on a generator. What would be the most effective thing to do after hooking a survivor in the basement, or should you never even bother with the basement?

You can play the game however you want as long as youre not breaking the rules and using exploits.

Dont let anyone tell you otherwise

seriously, no more nerfs for any perks. just buff the 80 odd perks that arent useful at all and i mean actually buff them not a small unnoticed change but an actual good change that makes you think "oh i wanna run that perk, oh and that perk, damn i dunno which to pick" not oh yeah ill just run the 6-8 possible decent perks on this side...

Id like overcharge to be buffed where it gave survivors two difficult skill checks in a row, instead of one.

  • @JustHeretoHaveFun said:

    I'm a Rank 11 killer.

I just played for an hour and a half and every single round had at least 2 red ranks, at least 1 purple rank, and if I was lucky, someone actually near my rank. It wasn't fun at all. I've been playing for like a month. I don't even have any characters to level 50 yet.

Not to mention they always seemed so pleased as punch to have an awful killer. The constant BM was so disheartening. I wasn't playing toxic. I avoided tunneling and camping, I didn't hit on hook, I didn't do anything but try to chase them off gens. But every single time was a million flashlight clicks, exit gate teabags, pallet teabags, etc.

I seriously don't understand. I'm new. Why am I being paired with these people? It wouldn't even be that bad if they would just take the win and leave, they're determined to drag the match out and make it hurt. It's not even a learning experience at this point.

To be clear, I'm not judging them for using certain perks or anything like that. I'm a firm believer that every perk is fair. But man, I'm just so annoyed.

    Sorry for the useless rant.

You know whats going to be even more disappointing? When you eventually get more practice and get better, there are zero casual games as a high ranked killer.

It doesn't get more fun the better you get, it gets harder lol

  • @PyroGL said:

The OP's idea, while lacking in some detail, merits a conversation on the basis that it would push the game into a more team oriented focus, and give solo players a reason to stick around and help their "team". Refocusing DBD into a team game, rather than a clusterf*ck of solo idiots, will ultimately allow for proper balancing.

Survivors do not need two lifes lol. Add 5 more generators if you want something crazy like that

  • @piggypablo said:

It would be helpful, but not overpowered to all killers if BBQ was base kit. Survivors have many ways to negate it when the perk is used (distortion, lockers) it feels like it is just wasting a slot. No nerfs should be made to it in order to be a part of the base kit, it's fine as is.

Yea I saw a post where BBQ and Kindred would be base kit and it actually sounds like a decent idea

  • @Kellie said:

Either way its a 3v1 cause in solo ques the killer always tunnels the first survivor they see.

I play solo 90% of the time at purple and red ranks and never really have an issue

  • @RamblinRango said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1782924#Comment_1782924

Just trying to get something new in, I thought it sounded pretty balanced no? What do killers even want these days? It's been awhile

Well it just seems like most of this idea is for survivors when you only mention killer 3 times and one of those times its how survivors can trap killer lol.

And right now, survivors should have to build breakable walls, instead of them spawning in.

  • @RamblinRango said:

Doors that can be locked/barricaded should be added to certain maps, particularly indoor maps. They could replace a few pallets and windows at least and it would be something that you do BEFORE a chase instead of during, so it waste a little survivor time but with a benefit.

What if in order to lock/barricade these doors survivors would have to repair them? 10-15 seconds and it would take the killer about 4-5 seconds to break it down, why so long you ask?

If BHVR positioned these doors right they could act as passable walls for survivors to change the map layout on the killer without the obviousness of a pallet drop. These aren't just chase breakers! Long hallway on Midwich? Generator right next to a door? No problem! Fix that bad boy first and now the killer can no longer simply waltz in and murder you, he has to either

    1. Go through another entrance
    2. Spend a few seconds breaking down these sweet new doors, giving you ample time to escape. (Unless it's a spirit, then gg)

Meanwhile you can silently slip through the door at the cost of 2.5 seconds, or quickly which will create a notification and leave the door AJAR. While the door is ajar replace the 4-5 second 'Break' action with a 1 second 'Open' action for the killer, making doors less effective than pallets in a chase but great at prevention, just how doors should be.

I could think of a few perks or ways to turn this into an item, but I think it'd work better as part of the game. It would be a great way to trap for some killers too.

Also, have doors never been brought up before?

So more cool stuff for survivors and another inconvenience for killers?

  • @JinSime said:

I know that regularly as killer the start of the match is harsh. And I also know that it's as hard to get points as survivor, even having We're Gonna Life Forever equipped.

So I was thinking: what if we had an optional objective that grant survivor points (like the pustula flower, as example), but can only be done before a set number of generators are done?

Like... we have as survivors 5 objects to interact with that grant some good amount of points (about 3k or even more maybe?). Each a time a generator is done, one of these objects gets locked. So If the match is hard for the survivors you can ignore them and play for you life as you normally would, but if it's not you can risk it and get some extra points, also giving the killer more room to make some mistakes and maybe even recover if the survivors are too greedy by focusing the side objective?

    What do you think?

How about all survivors have object of obsession in their base kit until 2 generators are done. Now those would be crazy chase filled games

I first got this game back in March of 2018, and I loved it. Everyday after school or for hours on weekends I would play it and enjoy it. So much so that I've put in almost 800 hours. Not much when compared to a lot of people but still, that's a lot of time for me to put into a game.

I've been on and off with Dead by Daylight since Ghostface was released. I stopped playing for a good while, and then when Deathslinger came out I started to play again. I would play for a few hours. But less so than when I started.

I got a lot done, getting all the unlockables for killer, and all for survivor, even maxing out my main survivor. But I started to feel burnt out and started playing less.

I havent played for even an hour since before the blight came out. I bought the Rift pass and was determined to complete it, but everytime I sat down to play I didnt have any motivation to play.

I played a few games earlier this week and somewhat enjoyed survivor and had fun as killer. But I still don't feel motivated or feel the need to hop on and play. I really like this game, from watching people play it, to just drifting through the forums and reading about things. Any recommendations as to how I could get back into the swing of things?

You dont have to compare your time played with other people to know 800 hours is a ton of play time in any game.

I would recommend not watching any dbd videos on youtube, or watching anyone play on any streaming service.

Everyone gets bored of their favorite game eventually

Overall the gameplay for both chasing and stealthing are both incredibly exciting. However, the thing that really keeps me coming back is the vast amount of different Killers, Items, Perks, and Addons available to theory craft with. I'm the sort of person who enjoys poking at systems to see what works, what doesn't, and specifically things that work that others seem to be ignoring. I love it and DbD scratches that itch in a way that very few games have. I think the last one that really did that for me was Diablo 2.

Yea its great being able to synergize perks with addons or coming up with something that almost changes the function of the killer altogether.

Also you should check out Path of Exile

  • @Yords said:

Title. Also, besides buffing the weaker killers, what are incentives we could give to players looking to play killer?

  • @TicTac said:

Do you play DBD with a goal in mind? Did you change it since you started playing?

When i started DBD i wanted to reach Rank 1. After that i wanted a good build for survivor and on every killer. Then all perks for one survivor and all killer. Now im trying win streaks with killer.

I have fun with the game, but i like to see progress. I dont even like the grind, but im a completionist and it annoys me. So i would like to hear what you are doing and maybe i find something, before im dumb enough to start doing the trophies.

To stay purple and red rank for both roles while trying to keep the game satisfying.

Eh, perks are fine, you can have ruin/undying/tinkerer and still be 'chill'. It's more so the playstyle. I do get tilted when stuck in a 3 v 1 and the killer thinks it's a fun idea to ensure the Meghead goes into second stage before committing to a new chase.

DC's are already punished, no point making a thread on that. And yes, they are obnoxious, but that will never really change.

I do agree that if there was a bigger DC penalty for killers it would solve alot of things. Some people DC before theyre even hooked one time, in those situations killer most likely needs to hook all 3 of you multiple times just to safety pip.

Regardless, if someone DCs very early I will often give the best one out of the remaining survivors the hatch

Let me just quote myself, it's one of the first phrases in my post: 'You don't have to let anyone go'. The killer can kill everyone, that I don't care. What I do care about is how keen some are to just stomp and send everyone back to queues when there was no chance to begin with. Kill us, sure, but let's at least /play/ the game a bit. I can understand wanting to leave the match, but you don't have to slug everyone and just crush them from the getgo.

Fun in this game is often contingent on the opposing side, so a little bit of sympathy for that side that's essentially doomed to fail would be pleasant. DC's are already punished, but survivors don't really get anything beyond a few crappy points for it, while likely losing any chance to win or even pip (bigger chance to depip too, given there's more pressure from the killer and less altruism to be gained). I do think killers incapable of sympathizing to an extent are worthy of being called out, but ultimately, it's whatever. Recent survivor queues have made this particularly unpleasant I suppose.

You think you should be rewarded as survivor for your teammates DCing? By the game and by the killer?

Or go out of their way to stomp 3 v 1's (One DC's straight away, quite common).

You take this silly party game way too seriously. You don't have to let anyone go, but holy ######### at least give them a game. Most of the time it'll end up being people slugged to prevent saves so you can secure your ez pz win. Queues are bad, this game is imbalanced in so many ways, please just try to make this fun for everyone, including yourself.

If your definition of fun is absolute domination of those hopelessly under you then I do think this game isn't for you. There are other competitive games that reward you for having this kind of mindset.

Also, a strange remark, but it mostly tends to be Spirits, Freddy's and Huntresses that sweat the most in these situations. Not really telling of anything but that's been my experience.

So because one of your teammates DC's early, you focus your complaints on the killer?

Your issue is your teammates that DC, not the killer in this situation
