-Insert Entitled Survivors, also insert Entitled Killers here-

No point in taking sides here, I've had both hatemail as a killer, and hatemail as a survivor. This isn't a you versus them issue, it's just people being horrible people. Just bust out the block button. It instantly gets rid of cyber bullying. Reporting them could net in them getting banned as well. That's all you need to do and it will be over.

This was done. I understand there are ways to just get rid of it and let it go but the point of my rant is why does it even have to happen in the first place and why do Survivors get so mad that they resort to this behavior? I've gotten mad plenty of times but I have enough common courtesy not to message the human behind the screen and bully them. I was fine after the psn message, its the youtube thing that shocked me. Like wow, you really went out of your way to gather at least 5-6 friends to make disgusting comments under a YouTube videos I have of other games I enjoyed with my friends. When does it ever have to get that far?

  • @HealsBadMan said:

So you're not playing Killer because of one bad game? Its normal to get salty survivors- toxicity is in every game. What separates ######### like that guy from people like us is that we know its a game, and the purpose is to have fun. If you're being harassed to that extent, then you should ban them from your YouTube/blacklist them or something. Same goes for PSN.

You shouldn't let one bad game affect how you enjoy yourself, nor should you let people like him dictate how you play.

I'm not sure if you saw above because there is alot to read but I prefer not to player Killer because I'm not good at it. The harassment is just a plus of why I don't.

THere is a minimum distance between hooks, but also a minimum number of hooks per map. That means, if after the random placement there are not enough hooks on the map, there will be randokmly spawned more hooks until the minimum hook count is reached. That will especially with oak offerings happen more commonly. You need to get "map awareness" the same like with "where are the closest gens which we need to do at least one of". Although I think for hooks it is not really relevant, unless you play a sabotage or breakout build

No I didnt. But in another thread @Blueberry had a great idea. Make that the unhooker gets the hit from the unhooked. For example if you get unhooked and hit, the damage is transfered to the unhooker. So the unhooked has a protection but not the 15 sec invulnerability. What do you think?

Thats actually a reasonable idea. It'll still do something about tunneling for sure but it wouldn't screw the Killer over if they weren't tunneling the unhooked Survivor.

  • @T2K said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1052035#Comment_1052035

    So we agree on that.

Like you were saying, BT is an anti tunnel perk. So if you would forcefully bait the hit from the killer with BT active (eg for protecting another surv), its not tunneling. And so BT shouldnt be able to work like this. Also circle unhooking with BT is a thing. The unhooked with active BT unhooks another survivor. If BT is anti tunnel, you shouldnt be able to do that.

Agreed. So what did you have in mind for a rework? I'm interested. I'm not sure if you posted one already.

  • @T2K said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1052016#Comment_1052016

I think thats exactly the question. Should there be perks that CAN be abused in a way they were not intented to work?

Absolutely not. The only time I'd see taking a hit for someone else if you have BT being a problem is when the gates are open. Otherwise you can choose to get either of those Survivors down if you can maintain a chase successfully.

  • @korean_zombie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051958#Comment_1051958

I can't count the number of locker grabs, gen grabs, and chest grabs I've had against DS players. That isn't anti tunneling. Example, I was playing killer and saw scratch marks leading to the hook. I followed the scratch marks, The survivor drops a pallet and unhooks. The unhooked survivor gets on the gen 5 feet from the hook and starts grinding away. I get an interrupt and DS.

Did I camp or tunnel. Nope. I capitalized on a survivor mistake, which is required as a killer. The perk needs to be nerfed so that it only activates when they are the next basic attack the killer makes. Unless you feel that survivors are entitled to 40-60 seconds of objective time with immunity.

Borrowed Time: Survivor hook techs the hooking animation and resuces with Borrowed Time. The unhooked survivor body blocks for the rescuer. Would you classify this as anti-Camping, anti-Tunneling, or exploiting?

Survivors like this make me want to bring bubba and ground camp them until they bleed out. I am under no obligation to make your DBD experience enjoyable. I will reciprocate your behavior.

This is not how every Survivor plays, just like every Killer doesn't tunnel.

Edit: If BHVR were to nerf every Killer/Surv perk based off of a portion of people that use it for anything other than whats it supposed to accomplish, every single perk would be bad rn.

  • @TheNewWebhead said:

@CrescentGent @SnakeSound222 @Unicorn This is an interesting thread to read and everyone's takes are fairly reasonable. I believe that this community could really use less toxic attitudes though like "get good" and dismissing across the aisle complaints. The way I see an arguement where someone just says "get good" with or without a perk (killer or surv), I think that arguement is counter intuitive to the point brought up by the host and is essentially a poop post. All of that to say, I see why you think a change needs to be made.

I'm a hard survivor main and I often see people abuse the system set in place by BT. Now you said making it only happen once or twice would be optimal. Why? That isn't an attack but a genuine question because as a survivor main I usually only use it once IF twice a game. Would instead a prerequisite, counter, or rework all together be better? Really curious what you think because I have a couple ideas that might be able to be built upon.

Prerequisite - Some perks come with these to counter balance the overpowered nature of the perk. For example Hidden Strength for survs. You must clean a hex totem yada yada right? So, would this seem like a fair balance to the nature of the perk. (Here is an off the top example and not some deep analysis. Please feel free to insert your own) Like maybe you start with (1,2,2) charges of BT and can only regain a charge every (110,100,90) seconds in the killer terror radius. Again, please dont hang me for my ignorance here, but I'm just trying to brainstorm.

Rework - this would be a mid chapter update most likely and change the dynamics of the perks fundamentally. Many, MANY perks have been slighted over the years (better or worse) and this perk is not immune to that. This being said by someone who runs this perk religiously (again, forgive me 🙏). Like everyone with the perk starts with (0,1,2) charges of borrowed time. Everytime you are hit after unhooking someone, you gain 1 charge up to (2,2,2). After being hit post hook, you no longer gain charges for this unhook. (Incase I worded poorly above). This would make the killer decide on whether or not to hit the hooked person or the unhooker.

Please respond with an idea or two of your own so we can explore the best use of this perk!

I agree with your first point about the community. Unfortunately this is what the community is and its been like this for a while. Thankfully the Mods/Devs of the forums made the rules more strict so I see less aggressive and toxic behavior, buts its still here.

Anyway, I think your idea is okay but looking at it from a Solo Survivor's point of view (yes I do run BT religiously) I'm usually the only Survivor that has it as the others are (most of the time) running the classic META perks (Adrenaline, DS, SB, SC, Head-On, etc) When we look at making changes based off of games that were bad, we need to look at it from all aspects. Not everyone is a SWF team and not all Survivors run BT. I realize a lot of players come onto forums after a tough game and voice their complaints based off of it. BT is fine in my eyes, I do see it being a little stressful at the end game and especially when the gates are open though. Unfortunately, tunneling is a real thing and this is an anti-tunneling perk for someone like me that doesn't mind dying and saving others.

Edit: Lets also keep in mind that stealth Killers negate BT. If BT were to be nerfed, the perk would literally rot.

  • @Hex_Face_Camp said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051812#Comment_1051812

Not if the survivor with BT has DH or DS active, it happens a lot when I verse swf teams. Not saying tunneling is great but sometimes killers have no other choice and it's not about "gitting gud" honestly lmfao

I can see this being a problem to deal with at end game. Its completely understandable at that point, but during a game when theres still gens up, I don't see this as a problem. Also I agree, the whole "git gud" propaganda is a cop-out response.

  • This would be okay if Killers didn't consistently tunnel. I know they're Killers out there who don't, but the ones that do are what force Survivors to run things like DS/BT. Also, you're literally trading a Survivor for a Survivor and keeping at least 2 of them off gens for a small portion of time when theres a BT save. One has to mend, the other gets hooked. BT is fine where it stands, nerfing is unnecessary.

  • I only do this if I've ran the killer around for about 2 gen times and I get hooked to see people Urban Evasioning against a wall with no gens done still. Theres no point in me being in that game after that.

When I first started she was one of the first killers I gravitated towards as well, but back then I thought she was trash because I had nooooo clue how she really worked lol. It took a hundred, maybe 2, hours of other killers before I jumped back onto her and actually learned her.

It's funny to think at one point I thought she was the utter worst most trash killer in the game xD

Lol thats what i thought of Billy tbh. Yet he's still a strong Killer. I hope they don't end up messing with his kit/playstyle. In my opinion, billy is the most balanced Killer on dbd but thats just my opinion.

No problem. In a better world you could've stuck with it and gotten the absolutely amazing thrill of blinking through walls and floors to land hits. God I miss Nurse so much :.(

She was the first Killer I was interested in when I first tried Dead By Daylight about 3-4 years ago (and Huntress). Her whole art design, play style and all just intrigued me. I used to play alot in my beginning year but then I realized the higher you climbed as Killer the harder it got for me to play Killer. As of then I'm now a Survivor and only play Killer if Matchmaking is taking too long or if I have a challenge/ritual. I really hope they look into the fatigue though. I think that'd really nail the issue right on the spot.

  • @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1047343#Comment_1047343

Normally I would say don't give up she has an insane learning curve but currently... yeah I can't lie to you, give up before you invest too much into her :(

Meh :[ thanks anyway though, I appreciate the advice/information.

  • So I played her twice. First game was ouch, 2nd game I only got one sacrifice D; and its only because the same person kept running into me. Ugh I feel like crap for killin em' though.

  • @Tro said:

Even after putting over 300 hrs of play just on her, she is medium tier at best. She has the hardest learning curve and one of the lowest kill rates across the board. She needs to be buffed or reworked by doing something, Ive even give some ideas:

    a) increase her base speed to 4.2-4.4 just like hag/spirit/huntress.

    b) give her 3-4 blinks as opposed to 2.

    c) Make one recharge bar recharge blinks to maximum (ie. one recharge bar gives you the 2 blinks at once)

    d) remove the fatigue and leave the recharges as they are.

    e) remove the blink c/ds while not in a chase, that way you start every chase w 2 blinks.

Any one of these changes would put her back in a very good spot without being as OP as she was.

Removing fatigue would be a great step towards making her viable again if she isn't at this point.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Apparently adding counter-play to her by making her worse to play because we all know how easy it is to predict every survivors movements.

    /s

Yes you are correct, as now you are not only punished for missing, but also for playing nurse, because even if you hit or miss you have to go through a 2 fatigues and a cooldown to top it all off.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1047087#Comment_1047087

Thats alot of fatigue. I don't like fatigue, I don't think anyone does. Did they leave her ultra rare's alone considering they're ultra rares?

I mean I wish you good luck. She was extremely fun and extremely unique in terms of gameplay, for this game and gaming in general. I hope you have fun with her, but I seriously doubt you will.

    I will keep you posted.

  • @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1047087#Comment_1047087

Yeah on console she was already pretty bad, and while she is still technically playable why put yourself through the torture?

As for the reason, according to them it wasn't because of balance (they have said they don't want to balance the game around the high elos but they changed a killer who was only good in high elo SOOOOOO) but because of some unknown reason to us, something about her kit they didn't like. They were very vague with it as I recall.

Wowzers. Okay well, I will try her out and see how she works for me.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

They reworked all of the nurse's addons and added a cooldown after using a blink on top of the fatigue. Previously, the Nurse could double blink, go through fatigue so the Dev's added a recharge mechanic for blink charges that has added a limit to how quickly she can blink.

Rather than immediately receiving all her blink charges following fatigue, she will instead regain charges one at a time, so you have to always look at the blink charge bar the entire game. She's still powerful, but only if you hit every attack on every blink without missing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1047013#Comment_1047013

    @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1047013#Comment_1047013

Yes a few patches back they did an "addon pass" for her that resulted in her getting a cooldown into her basekit. So now you spend at least half of the game walking at the slowest speed in game waiting for your power, and that's if the cooldown didn't 99% you and ruin your double blink, or you don't get a game breaking bug that prevents you from blinking at all, or any mind-game possibilities she had are all gone, and the fun factor of playing her is almost non-existent because what is fun about watching someone dodge your telegraphed hit with barely any skill involved?

Is there a specific reason why they decided to do this to her? I mean, I know she was favored more in high ranks and only on PC. I play on ps4 so I'm guessing this change/nerf is twice as bad for console players?

  • @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1046995#Comment_1046995

    Let me rephrase,

    Please don't. For your sanity.

In all honesty it's not a good time to learn Nurse right now. She has game breaking bugs and her playstyle is a shell of what it used to be. Buy the cosmetic by all means but don't expect to have any fun during it.

Did they do something to her? Last time I checked she was the most efficient Killer..

Sorry I didnt keep up with patch notes until just recently with the Ruin rework.

Does that make it okay for Killers to be unlikely to be sympathetic that they’re camping the Survivor? Seems like fair game don’t ya think?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1044546#Comment_1044546

Agreed, but frustration brings about passionate outbursts from people. No survivor wants to wait up to 15 minutes for a match, get caught quickly and end up dying on their very first hook. A survivor in that circumstance is unlikely to be sympathetic that you’re just trying to complete a challenge.

I understand where you’re coming from, I really do. I just can’t consider someones feelings that resorts to saying these types of things to people. Thats the lowest of low type of a person, irregardless of the excuse of “passionate outburst”. There are people who struggle with their mental health everyday, imagine what saying something like this to them can do? All because you’re upset off of ONE match. We can agree to disagree my friend, we have two different outlooks on this type of behavior.

No need to apologize, I appreciate it though. On the other hand, I wasn’t playing to ruin someone elses fun. I’m sure I stated above that I had a Killer challenge to “Kill 10 Survivors” by any means necessary. I’m not a great Killer so I camped the David to ensure I got at least one kill. I don’t camp unless I need to but even if I did, or if any Killer does, nobody deserves to be told to [CENSORED] themselves. It should never be pushed that far over a game.

    Justifying his actions, got it.

  • @Advorsus said:

Depends. I've found some games where I get stomped on, but that's usually because I'm playing high rank survivors and I'm using killers that I'm still leveling up, like my very neglected trapper :'(

But if I'm playing games with killers that I already have leveled up and have decent perks and addons, I usually still 3-4k even against really good survivors.

So I'd say if you're leveling killers, expect to stay around green/purple ranks lol

    You neglect Trapper? ;( Why?

Finished the killer challenges without much trouble. I had a blast (pun intended) playing new doc.

Now doing the survivor ones, it's all spirits, docs and freddys. I saw a couple of trappers too. It's taking a while, but the queues are good.

    NOED is EVERYWHERE.

I got facecamped (literal facecamp) by a doc off the first hook for no reason at all, unless we count looping him as a reason. Then unhooked without BT, he didn't respect the DS because it was bugged and didn't work. I died, then when the match was over, the client restarted with the patch that fixed the DS bug against doc. It was like the Entity was giving me a sign. Luckily, I have enough hours in this game to find all this stuff hilarious.

    Holy domino effect.
