A simple way to stop the go next is put the cages from 2v8 in 1v4. This way there is less chance of giving up. Also slugging wouldn't be an issue and can be reportable.
I myself have been in games where it was 3 swf and me and when I got hooked they just ignored it or hid. That needs to stop. I really think survivor moral is down and that's the biggest problem. No one plays as a team. People are giving up more because they are in a winless situation. How is the system going to know if you purposesly or accidentally run into the killer? Honestly if this gets implemented I may as well stop playing because I constantly run into the killer.

On a side note I really think BHVr needs to invest more in stabilizing the console issues. Someone also mentioned that a massive health update before FNAF. My thing here is yes that would be good, but this is a totally different demographic than they usually target. Most will have consoles and not computers. Overall improvements made to consoles across the board would be extremely helpful. This could be an untapped goldmine for them. However if they don't improvement the functions BHVr will more than likely face the coalition of angry moms.

Actually it's an even smaller pool than that. It's only those on your platform that ALSO have crossplay turned off.
That said, unless you are a big name streamer, it's unlikely very many of your matches are actually against cheaters/hackers. Even smaller streamers don't get them nearly as often, and if you are not a streamer at all, then it's very rare. Usually hackers tend to want an audience and to watch the world burn, so they use their hacking to target streamers that can give them that audience and allow them to 'ruin" a streamer's day/night.Actually there are more subtle hackers than you think. There are swarms of people that admit it on other pages. While yes there is the obvious ones there some that are just subtle so they won't get caught. There are even forums selling a monthly subscription to get the hacks. I agree the massive obvious ones are few and far between but as of late I have encountered way more than I used to. One even backfired they had that snake one and I hit them at the gate and they teleported in the middle of the map 😆.

I just feel that the player base has shifted. You are giving the killer continuous aura reading in most cases and now they added to killers that can swiftly move across the board. Legion is easily counterable but just annoying with the continuous hits, just like in 1v4. He's an annoying killer. Most that play 2v8 are soloq and the ones that are playing 1v4 are squads with flashies or Sabo builds.
They need to nerf some of the speedy killers to go with the player base. Things will balance out that way. Take away the aura reading skill set until healed that's ridiculous.
Once again coms mean everything in a player game.
This time around it is definitely more miserable to play last variation was better and I feel it was still balanced. This definitely tilts more towards the killer.
The one thing the devs need to realize is that not all 8 players are in communication but two killers can be
Also remove Legion it's just an annoying killer. Like they are the gnats at a picnic.
-
I had a Wesker try and get me but slammed a Zombie. I think those play with him continuesly learned his bugs.
-
When this happens you are supposed to report in game and you can follow up online and attach your video. They will do the rest.
-
Yesterday I was escaping a lot more. It boils down to how the killers are playing. Today I can tell more killers are organized. Some are working closely together and I had a few that concentrated on one area which made the last gen impossible to do.
Were Elk is still silent despite all the things I have mentioned on here and through their site.
Bots make a difference and are just terrible.
It seems that they realize that kill rates may have been up and less people are playing the survivor role. I will say this again stop nerfing survivors at top tier SWF'S most players are not like that and that is why you have a survivor shortage.

They do have a hindered status power that I did not notice until too late. LOL! Not sure which killer power set it is, but if you are close to them you get hindered.
This is all the time even as killer.

Bots will save you but not heal you if someone else is healing you. The stalk you at a chest and they steal all the ferns. They are also the first to head out the gate. They need improvement but they are just fillers nothing more.

Its funny to me that recently, posts are popping up claiming survivor sided and gen rushing. And I've seen a bit of them from first time posters.
Hmmm. I wonder what, if any, correlation there is?
What it is I think is that these killers see 3 gens pass and then either give up by DCing or in the game itself. The thing is I see way to many killers hyperfocused on one player and they will pass by an injured player, or they will happen to focus on that one player they have hung already. Now for the gens yeah 3 gens can easily fly but if you really calm down you can definitely turn around a game even in endgame. Those last two gens will more than likely struggle if you keep you chase short and realize if they are a runner or not. Those 3 gens went by because they used their toolboxes and BNP if any. Also the board matters with who the killer is too. Also I refer to these players as the graduated roblox generation.
-
Is anyone on controller noticing a delay or like your running through mud?
I'm not even wanting to play at all.
-
I think this is primarily a console issue and yes I have the same problem when I play killer. I have found if you turn when swinging towards whatever direction they start you should be able to hit them.

I watched a streamer playing survivor in 2v8 and the bots were really attracted by the herbs and grabbed them before the streamer had a chance to pick them up.
Maybe that´s the reason why these little rats last until the end. :'D
Yes. I had one full lobby and then when loaded in and the killer was legion and nemesis 4 DC'd.
Now on another board I rescued a bot and there was another bot ready to heal they went right for the ferns. They are using all the ferns and not healing if someone else is healing too. They just bounce up and down.
This is the most unfun it has been.

it’s balanced around high mmr 4mans(which it should be) just as it should be balanced around high mmr killers(which it is) and if they look at blight and he’s not doing more than 52% ish and nerf him, that means survivors will probably get a nerf too. So I’m going with no, unless you want a hit to probably healing, repair, or “second chance” perks. As those are mostly the gripes on killer side atm. I don’t have the data on blights performance overall at that level, but I imagine that’s what will happen.
I disagree with this. It shouldn't be balanced by a small percentage of players. They should balance it around a medium high. They should also bring back comp and restriction of perks for that.

The tail is hard to aim on console and sometimes it'll prioritize hitting the environment even though you clearly were on point (auto aim). It's not fun constantly getting stunned out of your power. Sometimes you get tunnels that are nowhere near objectives similar to Dredge have no lockers near gens.
This is it. I hate using the tale because the aim is so off. You can look like a direct hit but it misses it's really frustrating. I also feel that going up against PC players while being on console there's a huge difference as well. They can be right on front of you and you will still miss. The Dark one is the same way if you don't aim down to hit you will miss and hit above them.

Yes but it excludes everyone except your system. It is actually more fair to play console on console than console PC in general.

I have always believed matchmaking was the main reason for this. It doesn't help that the content creators who sit on the advisory council are openly lobbying Behavior to keep the matchmaking this way because it benefits them. This isn't some tinfoil hat conspiracy theory either. I'm not sure if I am allowed to mention names but two huge streamers have openly admitted this on stream.
You are not allowed. I think BHVR's overall problem is listening to the main streamers. Problem is a majority don't play like them and don't have the skill. You want new people you have to tone down the killers and matchmake better. I remember when my son put a video of one of their streamers and he was complaining about Gabriels one perk. The next week word for word was why the nerfed the perk from PTB. I was mad, not because of this but because he was using the perk without normal gameplay and criticizing it based on that. They always listen to them and then when there is lashback they quietly revert most changes.

I feel like the changes to Wake Up have awakened some of the debate around players who hide a lot during the match, which in turn leads to their teammates getting killed off sooner. Personally, I just never had any talent for stealth in this game. It feels like the killer is always five steps away from me and I can't even fart in the wind without the killer making an immediate beeline for me from across the map....
Outside of some players doing challenges, I feel like some of what happens is that when people first start playing the game, they find looping extremely difficult, if not impossible, and so they adapt the "rat lifestyle" to be able to last in matches longer. It makes sense, because if you avoid the killer most of the game, you stand a pretty chance of not going into the endgame collapse on death hook. The problem is that while you're hiding in lockers and creeping stealthily away into some bushes, the killer is busy hooking all your teammates. And other teammates are having to go for the unhook, opening THEM up to be targeted by the killer.
Of course, just like with slugging or tunneling, I think an argument can be made that stealth does have a place in the game. Especially when it gets down to the final gens and it's a patrol heavy killer who is playing a solid game. But I think it works better if the whole team is using stealth on and off, and not just that one person. Because I think we've all had that game where everybody is getting hooked left and right except for that one survivor, who somehow manages to never get chased at all.
Of course if I'm dead and everybody else is dead, and that one sole survivor who played stealthily gets the hatch or escapes, I guess according to the game and the MMR, that really does make them the better player. Not that it means I'm not going to quietly mumble under my breath as I log out of DBD for the rest of the day. Because I am. LOL.

Over half my games. It isn't the fact of being slugged I get mad at it's the laziness or the severe need for that 4K. I get it's part of the game and should be used in extreme circumstances. It's the fact that your team mate is slugged you feel bad because you know it's a trap and it's just boring. Then there is the thing to get the finisher mori. It's boring and not much else to counter it
-
Not only vaulting but pallet stunning a killer and getting hit through or over the pallet is awesome.
When I play killer I can not hit a vaulting player unless it's Wesker, The Clown, The Doctor, Wraith, and pig. When I'm survivor I get hit after the vault or pallet stun.
I also have to say I don't think it's ping at this point I have a healthy ping and no one has issues with any other games. I really think its their servers and they can't handle everything.
-
I used to ditch with TTVs and still do as killer. Now as survivor I will ditch if 3 players are dressed alike Megs and my survivor is sticking out like a sore thumb. Nope not asking to get tunneled.
-
I also think it's different on console too. Yesterday I was playing Deathslinger and I shot point blank range and still missed. I also noticed other console players have this issue too when I play against them.
I really dislike playing any killer that has to shoot because it's odd. Then there is the Huntress who can seemingly hit through rocks and solid objects.

Some specific killers have smaller hitboxes. Houndmaster's is puny and lunging is actually pretty hard to land with the dog's erratic movement when ur trying to hit a grabbed survivor. Kinda like Unknown's lunge distance bug, that was super annoying
The thing with the Houndmaster the hitbox itself isn't small but if a survivor is zig zagging the dog can't hit them. I learned that it is easier to avoid the dog.

DBD has been arguably the most Killer Sided it's been and Killer players still feel shafted and a struggle. Shocker when Survivor complains about certain playstyles instead of asking for reasonable matches. It's always Killer desiring fair play but are hypocrites.
This when actual players were posting their STATS it showed a vast majority with a 35%-43% escape rate. Those that played casual killer all had an average of 7 hooks a game, including me that rarely plays killer.
The thing is from being a veteran gamer killer is super easy unless you get a good team. Even then it's about getting the weakest link out and figuring out your strengths a weakness.
In all of this BHVR has handheld their killer mains. The problem lays within this mythic MMR system. You have a killer that could these ranks by slogging, proxy camping, etc. These are easy wins for them. As they climb they start to face well oiled teams and survivors that are skilled to evade or overcome such tactics. As soon as these killers get losses they cry nerf killers. The problem isn't survivors (well sometimes it is), it's giving these killers a free pass for so long.
-
I have said this from the beginning content creators are the downfall of this game. Yes they do advertise but at what cost? They show 5 gen slugging and then you veteran players leave because they can't counter without a good team. You're left with toxic survivors as well. I think the devs need to start reinforce some things as well.
I really think the hook respawn was to prevent slugging and we all know that if they can they will. I don't even understand the last person mori decision and everyone told them it would lead to more slugging and here we are.
It shows lazy killer aspect as well. I

I agree, and combined with lobby dodging and shopping around it leads to the steamrolls no one wants over and over.
Yes unbalanced matches.
However you have killers that their main strategy is to camp, tunnel, and slug. These may quickly climb the ranks in MMR then they get matched with hardcore players that are coordinated and claim to get gen rushed and cry survivors are to powerful. Then you have the survivors that are constantly not being successful at countering always stuck facing the same tactic. Let's face it, dealing with all that is easier with coms. So you have a bunch of players virtually stuck because they are unable to actually play. Also you do have the players that intentionally throw to lower said MMR. I think it needs to be matched with stats. The whole MMR system doesn't work and at this point there isn't enough players to implement it fairly.
-
32% escape rate and 7 hooks per game. It said I played Yui and Trapper the most but I know for sure it was the Pig. I switch my survivors a lot so it's possible about Yui. Not bad for Soloq I guess.

I dont know every perk
None of this is to rag on you, but you can actually check and see what your perks do.
While ingame, you can press Esc (or whatever Controller bind is the equivalent) and in the player list, at the bottom right of the screen, it displays all your perks. You can hover your cursor over them (applies to PC and Console) to see what they do.
Here is an example:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FQ4UNTVCFW8C/screenshot-from-2025-01-16-20-31-23.png
If you ever forget or doubt what your perks do, you can check anytime. It's a really helpful tip to know. :D
Thank you! I'm on console so I will try
-
No I just feel it will be kills and escapes saves, etc. However it may cause a lot of survivors to leave the game
-
The fact that players warned them this would happened and they released stats saying slugging didn't happen very often. I feel they base their decisions on outdated data. Yeah a year ago slugging was not an issue but widespread so the idea came out to do this. But as they worked on it the problem grew, now it's out of hand and they can't walk back on it.
They base their decisions on the PTB which this time had problems with survivors wanting to do it. My question here is how can survivors give feedback if the majority playing the PTB are killers? The PTB isn'tgood for that because the pool of players is so small.

Then also wonder why they get more swfs or competent survivors who steam rolls them.
This. This game is designed more and more for SWF because that's who the killers play against most. They are coordinated. Soloq is bad and I won't play the event because I don't know every perk and if I'm going to be slugged, camped, and tunneled I want my own perks
-
I won't slug as killer unless there is a valid reason. I can't on one hand how many times too lol. Slugging is just boring and non skilled. I have started to play less because of player behavior in general.
I agree BHVR needs to start stepping in or people will leave regardless of them loving the game.

My best guesses on the devil's advocate:
1: They don't want to give any ground on a no refund policy. None of us actually own what we buy, we have virtual copies until one day the servers close, and they don't want to create a legal argument for future refund possibilities.
But this seems like such an extreme situation that it doesn't make sense.
2: There's some detail that isn't revealed related to the country / region / BHVR / license etc that makes a refund impossible from a legal standpoint.
Except if that was true, I would think they would explicitly say 'we can give so and so a refund because of this legal reason'.
There's a possibility they don't want to cast the blame on another party they are still trying to work through, but that seems like an incredibly slim guess.
3: The purchaser tried to avoid the region lock with a VPN or something like that.
Again, I'd expect BHVR to just tell us that if it was true.
I thought the same thing purchasing content using a VPN. This would probably violate a fine print somewhere because no one actually reads them. I feel that yes it does look bad on the company but if said person purchased in violation of fine print it would be understandable why a refund isn't granted. Also if they are the only person that purchased said outfits then it definitely was a VPN or something else.
-
Everyone is missing the main point the need for bots is lack of survivors.
-
SO I get to test it on the PTB but no amount of changes stop the tunneling, camping, and slugging. I get that making changes to evolve the game but no matter what perks changes are introduced there is a non chase epidemic of killers and no amount of changes to a killer or perk will change that.
Also the PTB hasn't really been taken seriously since Venca, they end up nerfing everything after it goes live because it's just a small percentage of players and the majority of players don't play like that on certain regions.

you getting notification does not guarantee it was your report, that lead to someone getting banned. Just some other people were not lazy to report with ticket to support
Yes I think the reported player needs to have multiple reports against them.
I am on Xbox and on few occasions have uploaded videos with a ticket. Xbox has the app which makes it easier. Once was the killer blocked me the entire game and wouldn't let me play or hang me just kept zapping me. The other few were clear working with killers.
-
LAst year I said streamers were going to be the toxic source of this game and I was banned lol. However that's the problem you have these streamers showing purposesly bleeding out with just a way to win a 4K. There could be hooks right there but they just bleed you out because they can. That isn't a valid argument and at 5 gens you don't know how the game is going to go. I have also seen streamers post their videos with them hook camping to get the mori. Since the Twitch requirements for the monthly stuff the slugging and toxic stuff has gotten so much worse. But I agree with you it is technically greifing because they are purposesly holding up the games progress. If everyone is down there is no reason not to hook unless they are all in the same area but you can hook at least one. The hook respawn too. So I feel that all these tactics hooks respawning was a last ditch effort to see if slugging was intentional and we all know it is and now killers are not going to like what comes next.
And also no we can't carry anti slugging perks because unbreakable only allows you once to get up so it's basically uselelss because more killers are slugging for sport.
I want to say at least 70% of my games have slugging in them that I get one crow while on the ground. I play every day too. Maybe it's a regional thing or a MMR thing.
-
I came here to post what OP posted lol.
Not this past anniversary but the one before that when they made it super easy for the killer to get the masks but not survivor they did not separate ques. It was one big anniversary event and people complained about killers going sweaty and hard. Everyone wanted separate ques so they could have fun and collect items. Now that they have done that it just proves the killer base is toxic and all they care about is winning. There are some truly cool . killers out there that still will play the event and may kill you and that's fine. I'm typing about the ones that go in hard at 5 gens. When I play killer on the event it's farming and two hooks each. It's really sad that the survivor base is either DCing or hookiciding for no reason.
This is the result of toxic behavior going unchecked for far to long. Slugging was a problem before the mori but they didn't listen and they kept with it. Now they are all of a sudden asking about in their survey. Survivors aren't innocent either and this game has reached a point where the majority of players are hackers or toxic players because BHVR does not do anything about it.
How can this be changed? So keystroke how many times a player tbags the flag them. Keep track of killers who end up with most of their games in slugs or slugs at 4 or 5 gens. Actually review games to see what is going on other than content creators.

I mean, I just played an epic solo q match against a slugging Huntress tonight.
I looped her pretty well a few times but she could have easily won if she just hooked people. Instead she got us all on two hooks with 3 gens left and tried to bleed us all out.
Fortunately, everyone on the team understood the assignment....except the bot we were stuck with from an early DC lmao
We rotated to pick up slugs, did gens during chases, and were able to break a nasty end game 3 gen thanks to my Deja Vu/Resilience combo and all 3 of us on the last gen while they tried to slug the bot.
We got a 4 out with everyone on death hook and seconds away from bleeding out.
Slugging is definitely counterable even in solo Q. Sometimes you just have to take charge and show your team you won't give up on them, and they return the favor. If you start hiding in a corner everyone just wants to go next.
I have noticed that survivors are adapting and we won't go down easy. It used to be survivors giving up, DCing, but we are getting smarter.
We shouldn't have to carry perks to counter something that only gives us a one shot at getting up and most sluggers wait for it. Slugging has become an every game occurrence and I blame content creators for it. It wasn't this bad until they got rid of Prime Gaming and started making their players watch Twitch videos. Sad part is by the time they do something about it a lot of players will be lost.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/434928/option-to-bleed-out-faster-when
I think the question is how did the whole team get slugged to begin with? Usually it's because whole team tries to play toxic and team blind/body block the killer when they try hook. If they do that then it's fair game. But if people are spread out doing gens then the killer shouldn't really be able to slug the whole team.. unless the team refused to heal the slugs.
Any more killers go into a game thinking its a toxic squad and just start slugging. I play only soloq and this has happened more times than not. I had a Tiffany do this and go around a hump every single one of us too. No flashlights were used to harm Tiffany either. We had 4 gens left as well. Not every killer humps but it's starting and it really doesn't want you to que up anymore.
-
Oo here it goes. The problem lays with Console players. Not that they are a problem but we do make up a good chunk of players but our Killer picks are limited even though there are so many.
Any killer that has a movement speed like Blight, Nurse, Billy, Bubba, etc is extremely hard for us. Oni especially because he feels so tight on the dash as if your driving on ice with no control. Now we move to this year when killers became complex to use on a controller. Singularity, Venca, Dracula, etc. These require multiple control uses in a fast paced game, something controller players can't afford tp use them if their trying for a 4K. Venca and Dracula are probably the easier of the two and I haven't tried Chucky or Houndmaster yet so I can't speak for them.
Now yesterday I played Alien for the first time in months and his tail whip was so off to add to that changing between hits and tail whip are ridiculous. He really isn't worth playing.
This leaves us with very few to pick from and it seems this what the majority plays. Easy non complex characters without a lot of thought process.
Being a survivor I have seen it isn't about not learning it's the divide of console and PC plus the bugs with synching issues. A console killer has to work harder for those kills against PC players and vice versa because of logistics of it. I really want to know how I stun a killer and then they can hit me over a pallet. Majority of survivor's that give up are tantrums, they don't want to face the same killer, and team mate flubs. It's extremely hard for a console player to go against a PC Blight or Oni couple that with being tunneled or camped and it makes for a miserable game experience. Now it won't stop me from trying but other will get tired of it and just give up because 9 out of 10 you're going to lose.
The only killer I can't successfully counter is Pinhead. Also another reason is because players strictly play survivor and strictly play killer. If people flip flopped more they would get a better understanding of how each killer works and how to counter them.

This is also true for survivor behavior and I'm a survivor main.
I have had the same matches as you as survivor. When I play killer its usually for Daily's or Tome challenges. If I get one where I don't need to off someone I will.play friendly but survivors are not being that way either. I'm still trying to figure these gens going off so quick with no perks. When I plays survivor it's so slow and we normally don't get any but 1 or 2.
The game as a whole is in a bad spot due to player mentality and I can't wait until TCM goes on sale.
