  • honestly that’s a player behavior issue nothing reportable there. It’s tantrums and it happens a lot. A lot just jump on as survivor to mess around and no really play. That’s the problem some play to try and win others just throw. It’s more of a disconnect than anything.

I'm only 29, and I've had people get upset and tell me to go take care of my kids instead of playing games. Honestly, I just laugh it off.

Play with your kids! Start them with Lego games though. I rely on my kids to tell me the games now lol

  • that’s on calculator. Texas Instruments used to have a plug in keyboard with various games that actually looked like 8 tracks. There was a game similar to space invaders. We didn’t have many but there was different ones. It was right before the Atari.

  • I played Texas Instruments computer games so I beat all of yall. I am more console though these days.

  • on paper with a select amount of player she was probably balanced. This is why the PTB is useless to gain real data. The player pool is small and selective. You don’t have newbies playing you have seasoned streamers mostly or seasoned players. Yes they can exploit certain points but that is not the base player group. You have a massive amount of console players that seem to be neglected and each update makes it worse. Only opening the PTB to basically streamers on PC is very short sided and won’t give you the full aspect of benefits or drawback's. It’s like a clinical test without the placebo.

The Status Effect should always show when The Killer has a way to one-shot you, even if it is optional. It helps alert Survivors to a potentially devastating strike. The Cannibal and The Hillbilly can also one-shot at any time, so it makes sense that they lack the Status Effect. However, The Oni should have too, since, like The Shape, his is limited to specific periods. It's why The Ghostface has the Exposed icon come up. The game needs more uniformity, not less. So any Killer that can one-shot you during specific moments should trigger the Exposed icon.

thank you but aside Hillbilly and Bubba can only one down you with the chainsaw so it’s at least a on off cue. Same with Oni he screams or growls and you can tell. With just the normal music from before it’s hard. I agree with you

  • @LinkToReality said:

It might have some growing pains, but it's not that hard to learn that when Myers plays the Halloween music it means that you can get insta-downed until the tune that signifies he went out of T3/Evil Incarnate plays.

As it is now the Exposed icon will show you if you're facing the fully new Myers or someone using the Add-on that makes him more like his old version, as that add-on applies Exposed instead of giving him the charge up dash. So you know to play against him differently.

It is hard in times when you are involved and not keeping track. The devs pushed visuals so much and now at a critical moment they don’t. It doesn’t make sense and is very confusing.

  • it would be nice to know when you are exposed too. Totally removing that is kind of not fair.

"give up mentality" wouldnt exist it bhvr devs didnt balance the game around content creators who cant handle the idea of losing a game with their 10k hours. they have 10k hours so they should just win every game all the time ya know…

killer was in a perfectly fine state in PTB but Otz their golden boy claimed she was trash so they've went ahead and overbuffed her.

give up mentality would also be less prevalent if dbd devs had a spine and implemented anti tunnel and slug changes the way the said they were going to. instead of dangling it in our faces and yoinking it away.

also why do people keep treating survivors as test rats? theyre people ya know? "im just doing experiments" …. you mean youre being a dick to people to test how much you can piss survivors off? gtfo

this I agree with. I really think the devs need to move away from content creators and more to the base players. They have repeatedly walked back on everything these creators have suggested. When they listen to their base it clicks and well received. They have actually lost the low to mid solo players because the game isn’t fun. I used to play every day but now I am finding things to clean rather than play lol

  • @GlamourousLeviathan said:

Myers got a rework. Before he would apply exposed to all survivors when reaching his evil incarnate mode. Now he doesn't apply exposed, because exposed implies you can instadown survivors with your M1. The new Myers only instadowns with his new dash ability, which is not a M1, hence why there is no exposed.

    thanks

i Think that is not right. You just run the risk of not knowing. I mean I will deal with it but it isnt’t right not knowing.

So you rather don't have a testing-phase than one you could improve in theory? That's a really smart thought I must say.

Also they will balance it eventually, but I'm already seeing that she will be hated for the time being. Typical dbd I guess xD

most of the feedback is ignored and it goes live as is then tweaked. There really isn’t a point and again it’s to limited to certain players. They either have to pull it or make changes after it goes live. It should be released and then all player feedback.

The Killer's rule is to execute Survivors, so prioritizing those hooked is only natural, right? How much assistance do Survivors need before they're satisfied...?
If you play as the Killer, you'll understand why they choose to tunnel or camp.

I really hate to say this but I agree with you. I am not a fan of tunneling, slugs or camping. However the more I have been playing killer the more I totally understand this. Just because a majority of players may not play like toxic a holes those few that do irritate the killer.

My thing is that they have allowed tunneling and other things for so long it has become a go to strategy. Never mind the plethora of aura perks it’s easier to dominate by getting the weakest player out.

A number of players left. Not meaning the game but left survivor side in general and it creates an unbalanced matchmaking.

Now when I play either side I am totally mismatched . I am either the sacrificial lamb or the survivors are just stronger than me. There is a huge player gap and that’s it. Not every person has a huge amount of time to learn every aspect of this game and they keep just adding rehashed perks. It’s time to trim the game. They can’t keep new players because solo is just terrible so who sticks around SWFs. They have a player toxic problem and it’s creating more players to shy away.

  • here is the honest truth.
A lot of reasonable players were certain it wouldn’t go through without changes. Yes it was harsh but tweaking COULD HAVE been done.

When it comes to survivor issues it’s dealt with swiftly and nerfed immediately. When it comes to killer maybe they will do something in the coming month or two. Yes this is a hardened truth and it should be swallowed.

As mentioned before BHVR likes to shelve things for years.

Thing is when it is all said and done you need 4 survivors to 1 killer. There is already a killer que issue and no one wants to play survivor especially in soloq. They are ending up with more squads than solo players and this is what they balance on. You can’t generate new revenue if it is impossible for new players.

When FNAF came out they surpassed their 122,000 player count from years ago. Two months later slashed in half. The problem BHVR ignores is not getting new players but keeping them engaged. Not everyone likes to play one side all the time but when you make it so both sides are unplayable or unenjoyable at certain points they need to make drastic changes.

Failing to get 4K means being tbagged at gate. Survivors will stand in the gate for the entire EGC just to do so. This behavior is one of the primary reasons referenced when "killer anxiety" is talked about. Being shamed for not "winning". If you think the 4K expectation is because its easy, and that killers are complacent with "being op", then you have less than 10 hours as killer.

I agree with this. Player toxicity is the reason things are out of hand. I mainly play survivor and occasionally play killer so I am great. I think a lot of soloq have left and your left with synergy of SWF. I see this as survivor in solo too. SWFs won’t save someone that isn’t their team mate will alert the killer and do dumb things. Most of the time I do have players waiting for me as killer or when I see them as survivor and they were to far from the gate and get hit I just laugh and leave. The changes are good and will be nerfed. Slugging and tunneling shouldn’t be a go to it should be a last play style. There is actually no point to being slugged at 5 gens and being humped by a killer. It happens a lot and quite frankly there is no need for it. People think it’s funny until it’s done constantly.

I've had no serious trouble and I play like 20+ matches a day, bouncing back and forth between both roles. I've played against multiple Pigs and didn't get head popped. My bloodlust as killer has been working fine. I've played both against and as Clown and had average results of wins and losses. I've used fog vials and had no benefit. I've had them used against me and the user has had no benefit.

None of it's world-ending and it will get repaired.

I can agree with this. I play a lot too and started to play more as killer as well. I see no issues with the fog vials playing as either. Yes you can lose someone in the fog but you still get chase music lol. However the more I play killer I can see a lot of survivor issues that lead to slugging and tunneling so I correct that in my games. However there those that just slug for sport. Also I would bot even begin to understand the streetwise abuse it seems like to much work

  • I don’t see a problem with them recharging. You have to realize that most defenses are used up and can’t be used again. The fog isn’t even that bad for killer to see through. I think it’s a fair addition and doesn’t really affect gameplay that much

    DMS has a cooldown though.
It's not like the killer can spam-hook survivors, and refresh the duration on DMS.
But I am surprised you didn't mention Friends 'till the End when it comes to "over-used" killer perks atm.

friends till the end is broken, at least for me. It doesn’t come up all the time I’m exposed but I get the noise que. I have gone down quit a few times because I wasn’t really paying attention.

  • the main problem is all the buffs to survivor side this past year has been mostly because of slugging and tunneling. If they do implement this gen and hook times need to be reverted. You want to bring a killer back to chase mode instead of slugging you just need to balance it all the way out as well.

  • @R2k said:

I'm playing on both sides and It's difficult to tell on which side I have more hours. But I would guess I'm 50-50 surv-killer. As my Kate has 2 more prestige levels than my Plague which is not big difference. Back to the topic. If anything what I don't like about playing as killer it's:

    a) Swf. Bhvr has to stop pretending deaf and finally balance game around discord teams. But to make it less hard for Solo players that don't have friends, make Kindred basekit. Then balance every killer with a thought he's playing against 4 man swf discord squad. Because it's day and night experience. Also kindred would help new players to learn the game.

    b) Invisible walls. On most maps I met situation Anna's and Plague (only ranged killers I play), sometimes hit invisible wall with their projectiles.

    c) Spirit. Maybe it's my hearing problems, but on some maps (during chase) it's confusing when you hear sound from right headphone, but survivor went left.

I have been playing both lately and have noticed that maps need to balanced first and foremost and cleaned up. They have actually balanced survivors around tunneling. Slugging and camping.

  • I don’t think every game is a tunnel or slug fest and it does depend on region. I also see that majority of games are a tunnel or a slug because they can’t let one player go or they feel they need to eliminate 1 player immediately. Majority of my games are tunnels or slugs with messages of get good. Player toxicity is way high on both sides and a killer just fells jaded at times and takes it out on the next set. Am I justifying it no, it is ruining game play and if it’s only happening in one region then there will be no harm done.

  • what happened?

    • This will kill the game!
    • Good luck with your 40 minute queue times when we all quit!
    • Where's my compensation buffs?

Man I'm so excited. Just waiting to hit "post" when they announce anything at all.

Your suggestion gave survivors unbreakable, even when the survivors forced the killer to slug.

For example, if there is only one hook that is within hooking range, and it is currently broken because of the Breakdown perk, your suggestion would still give the survivor basekit unbreakable, even though the killer literally can't hook the survivor, and therefore is forced to slug the survivor.

Ok I get it and yes there are instances where slugging is a necessity. However the event proves that killers slug because they are lazy and even if it’s a dead zone they can literally hook anywhere with an invitation. Or they slug and seek with the last two players. There should really be no slugging in the event with remote hooking available but here we are being slugged 90% of matches.

  • I will gladly throw myself on a sword instead of hiding. I really don’t care it’s an unwinnable game at this point and it just drags out. This is when I miss being able to speed up hook progress.

  • on Xbox and having trouble connecting period. Soloq

  • I think everyone is looking at tunneling as Survivor view verses killer view and not someone who plays both.

Survivor tunneling is annoying and when you are out of match in 2 minutes it’s frustrating. You don’t even get to learn loops or if your build is good. You don’t get anywhere and you are frustrated.

Soloq is fading quickly. Either existing players are moving towards killer or they play a few games, have a bad experience and won’t play for a few weeks. This means the majority that a killer faces is some form of a SWF (trust me us soloqs are starting to despise them too).

Killers are impatient. They feel they need to get a kill before two gens pop or they freak out, calm the eff down. Three gens can pop and you can still win. Killers don’t feel the game out or drop a chase, most professional tunnelers will proceed to chase the same person for 3 gens. Stop being hyper focused.

If a killer goes up against a squad they automatically know they need to Tunnel. But a killer goes into every match thinking everyone is a team and stomps everyone.

Most killers will take previous games frustration out on the next game. This is not competitive people, it’s literally a game you paid for with imaginary trophies relax.

Survivors are being more crappier and the behavior is just bad so I get the killer frustration.

Killer stats are actually higher. Considering they don’t count games were people DC and we will give a 5-10% AFK or farming match killers are probably closer to 70% kill rate. Also the SWF escape rates if you read the small print that is if only 1 player escapes from an SWF so that counts as a SWF win.

Lastly you need 4 survivors to 1 killer, right not it’s probably 10 killers to 1 survivor. Survivors are slightly stronger only if their perks synergies of each other if not then they are useless.

The game is balanced it is how players play that makes it not balanced. On paper it works but they forget they human element.

They should follow up on that kind of report. Did you also submit a report at Behavior's website?

I've been finding the event super fun as killer and miserable as survivor. I'm sorry to hear your kid had that experience :(

I am not that great at killer but I am being matched with people out of my league. I get it and I am not mad about I just don’t like how they taunt at the end of a match it makes no sense to me. I have been playing video games since Atari came out so if you wanted to play someone they were right next to you and you knew how to act.

My son must shook it off. He knows people say stupid things, but what if he was more naive or just in a bad mental place. People have no respect and it’s sad.

  • one hit is excusable after you are hung. If they come back and hit then I would say griefing. I had one repeatedly hit me because I would not give up on the hook so they could mori the last survivor. No pride charms just toxic

  • it was never like this until a few years ago when you had to escape with the invitations and killers began the brutal play. After that they split it and there was never a problem until a year ago. It’s obviously a lack of survivor issue.

  • I thought I was the only one being miserable. I did do killer and those survivors are just toxic as anything. The best my kid played on Friday and ran a killer for 2 gens then gets a message to kill himself. It was reported but nothing done.

Sadly, it have been like this for years.

it have just been an accepted part of dbd now, i think everyone gave up that fight. I cba to send yet another video to the BHVR..

between them and the toxic players this game is super not fun anymore

  • the cheaters are on the rise. My god they are everywhere now

  • I am on console and I can’t vault or pallet with an Axe in my back. So of course I get slowed down with that. He is for one camping with the trap doors using the stealth, invisible, and teleport 20 feet from a door to their advantage. The doors are placed by gens and that gives him a huge advantage. Most are camping and tunneling big time

  • there is a difference. There are those that stay at the gates to make sure everyone is safe and there are those that just eff around. I have been the killer on multiple occasions and purposely stay away from the gates because I know they will just be toxic. You won now leave. There is no reason to slam pallets and slide over them constantly. When I am survivor once everyone gets to the gate I leave if they stay back and taunt well they get what they deserve.

  • I don’t think he needs to be gutted. The doors need something but other than that I feel he’s fine. The only time I have lost is from the him springing from the door 10 feet away or tunneling and camping. Other than that he’s easy to avoid.

  • @PigWithTvs said:

clearly you never played against xeno….he is far more worst than springtrap and way more powerful lol

All they needed to do was remove self-unhooking without perks. Hell, they could even remove the struggle phase skill checks too to fix the problem. Everything else is unnecessary.

I disagree. I have self unhooked or attempted too because the killer was proxy camping, my teammates were to busy hiding or doing gens. Also I should not be forced to Stay in a game where teammates eff off or purposefully throw.

Yesterday I could not attempt to speed things up because my 2 were dead and one was hiding in the basement. I was forced to stay on the hook, a sincere waste of time.

I also made a post prior as this system should be paused and not made live.

  • @Fraankun said:

I agree with the pause, go next shouldn't be in the game if they don't fix the cheating problem first. At the end of the day i will be punished for not wanting to play against some subtle survivor/killer cheats? That's insane BS. Fix or find a solution to the cheaters first, then think about the "go next thing" BTW i hope my suggestion will come thru so we can have fun playing this game without having to use cheats ourself to pace off the others.

you get it. I never thought about killers affecting someone I was things mechanics. Also if they did focus on the cheaters we wouldn’t have nerf and buff so much.

Photophobia isn't a "weird eye issue." In fact it often presents naturally as people age. While most people focus on conditions like epilepsy, people who suffer migraines also tend to be very photophobic.

I have chronic migraines but I have always been sensitive to light. I have zero depth perception and can’t see 3D. I also can’t watch people playing video games or I get sick but playing is ok.

My son is autistic and he can’t play the game as survivor because of all the tunneling and camping.

  • @scoser said:

If anything, they need to be tracking people going next right now and initiate preemptive bans the second the patch goes live for everyone that has been going next constantly up until this point.

That’s a bit harsh. The reason I see people go next is because they are on the hook and their teammates are locker hiding, sitting on a gen across the board, my personal favorite someone doing invocation while three other teammates are either being chased, slugged, or on a hook, or a killer tunnels within the first 30 seconds.

There are those that do go next for dumb reasons and yes I get that but there needs to be improvements first and then I see no problem with it.

it was mentioned on the forums and people also said it was true on there so it may have been on the live because I didn’t read it anywhere. No, this is a huge issue in the game. Anytime something goes wrong for Survivors, or they see a perk/killer they don't like they just instantly give up. It's so unbelievably lame and boring, the fact they allowed it to go on for this long is honestly shocking..

True but killers also DC when the game doesn’t go their way as well.

You are correct because I have seen that as I play killer. I run lightborn so yes they do. However the more I see it’s because tunneling, camping, or teammates sitting on a gen or hiding. Like I said it doesn’t need to be gone forever because I do favor it. I just feel there are more important things that need to be implemented first.

Simple, Spiders have always been nightmare fuel for people. Real question is how to get a spider killer to work in DBD.

Coraline the mom monster was a giant freaking spider and it’s hella popular

  • chaos shuffle can be improved without all the tunneling and camping. Also they need to stop recycling the same 20 crap survivor perks.

  • I am sensitive to light so when someone uses a flashlight it hurts my eyes and dims my vision. I still play and one of the main reasons I use lightborn. I wouldn’t expect them to cater to a weird eye issue.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

Its just their way of saying a spider killer is not in the cards, with the killers they have released over the years I doubt it has anything to do with Phobias. Its a horror game. It should be treated as such. All cards are on the table at this point.

I agree with this. I had a serious fear of spiders when we lived in AZ and that’s when the movie Arachnophobia came out, that movie amplified it. It isn’t so much now even had a pet tarantula. I do agree with OP that if they will make a statement like that then look at all your killers not just one.

  • @4thdslip said:

The true solution to "going next" is to just allow for the 3 attempts off the hook without reducing the hook timer. Slippery Meat gives you +3 attempts, Up the Ante gives all players +1, and Vigo's Lips give all players +1. Make the last two not stack, and remove luck entirely. That way, players can choose to stack 8 unhook attempts and bang them all out without being able to kill themselves.

Didn't read the rest of the thread due to the ableism on display against epileptics. Hope this is considered on topic still.

it is lol. I didn’t read where they were still allowing the offerings because I only saw perks. So that would be good. I feel this whole thing will bite them in the end. It is like they are forcing you to stay in a match and still reward the killer.

I also know people just go next for the dumbest reasons.

  • you will lose a BP bonus if you brought it. I have still got pips but maybe MMR. I am not about to waste my time on the ground with three crows because the killer wanted to play slug and seek
