sure you think it's best to just link or repost the main body in your post?

Main body. Let's just keep it all together. You should see it in the forum, but if not, I can link ya.

He said "Majority want the basekit change reverted" ... Fake news.

These forums are infested with bias killer mains and your outnumbered bias survivor mains. The unbiased posters are very rare in here, and most people who tend to be unbiased don't even bother making comments in forums. This is why there is so much Killer vs survivor arguments with very little factual information in here.

    Example, this post.

If anything it seems this way as Nurse changes brought a influx of angry Nurse reliant gamers into the forums. That is more likely, and an in-game poll would more than likely prove a majority don't care.

I'm glad someone other than me looks at the big picture here.

There’s a reason you Vs the big 3 at high ranks a lot, it’s because they’re the only ones who can perform at those levels.

Asking for more nerfs to the other two isn’t productive and will be detrimental to this game.

We need to look at buffing the other killers, not nerfing the only good ones.

Though I agree, the lower tier Killers need help.

It's OK, apparently the devs share in your survivor-main mentality and believe survivors should be the power role. The nurse was the only character where skill and practice rewarded you for playing against good survivors, where you actually stood the slightest chance at winning, some times down to 1 gen against that 4 man SWF team that had toolboxes. Sometimes they squeezed one or even two out the gates, but it was one hell of a game and even the nurse felt it was a good game. I'll certainly miss those games.

Don't pretend to be a killer main, the nurse didn't deserve this.

And lastly, no need to be so rude. Before you come at me for "Faking" being a Killer next, I can give you hours of footage of me playing Killer, mostly Legion. Stop trying to start drama.

  • Umm...

DS, flashlight, pallets, loops, Head on... Saboteur to an extent.

Yeah, no. This isn't balanced at all, and is likely NEVER gonna be a thing.

I don't necessarily want rid of his current rush down style/abilities, just maybe rein them in a little and implement this as well? I mean i don't think the addition would be too OP but it all comes down to balance (and i'm no good at details just basic concepts), you could always reduce the number of inactive legions, but as i said it's a very rough idea so any suggestions are welcome.

I just thought this gives the rush down a different dimension e.g. they running from you and they turn a corner, you step into a locker and boom you in front of them running at them, provided you set up and shepherd them right. I just felt this makes it more like you're facing multiple killers not just one befitting the legion name.

Well, I hate to be that guy, but if you put this in my thread you'd likely get some good feedback. I think I have most of the Legion mains watching it.

It just feels weird to have to stop the chase and jump in a locker to pop out at another one. Why not just keep going and m1 them? It would be good for map pressure I suppose, but only where you "Left" the other members.

The largest nerf to the survivor base-kit in a long time was the removal of the pallet vacuum. Perks overtime get nerfed but that's because it was genuinely flawed (old MoM, old DS, etc) and it was mainly flawed due to no counter-play. But don't you realize that perks also get buffed too? Just because it's not meta doesn't mean that you cannot use it. Why don't you go out of your comfort zone and try different builds instead of using the current meta of try to use as many second chance perks as possible? Survivor IS playable without 4 second chance perks.

If the devs are so killer sided why do they try out things like survivors being able to flash light save during the animation, survivors being able to drop the pallet during the pickup animation to save, etc? They even tried out an experiment to make the Nurse get pallet stunned if survivors dropped a pallet during her blink.

Now Jeyers I want you to read this clearly for once. Lets say we have a set of scales with two sides to it. The survivor side is being pulled down more which means that it's survivor sided and for the devs to balance the scale out, they need to buff killers or nerf some survivor features. Now the scale is balanced, with your logic the killers need to receive a nerf now because survivors got nerfed and then guess what happens? The scale goes down on the survivor side again making it more survivor sided. If you nerf killer every time survivors get nerfed then the scale never changes and the balance stays the same.

Due to how flawed this game used to be, which someone linked you a video showcasing it, survivors had to receive a few nerfs to balance it out. Don't you remember the dpip squad experiment? I know it's coming up to 2 years since then but people showcased how flawed this game was so of course survivors got nerfed.

You also need to remember this is an asymmetrical horror game with FOUR survivors versus ONE killer and it should be a team based effort to win. That's why the current game is: solo is the weakest, killer is stronger than solo and SWFs are the power role. ONE survivor shouldn't be able to 1v1 the killer and just receive easy wins. Even if you look back at the dev dairies before the release of the game, killers were described as a power role but because so many people got too comfortable with easy wins BACK THEN they complain the more balanced the game gets and the more they need to work to obtain the victory.

If the devs were so killer sided why does the pig get nerfed every patch (still don't understand why), why did the nurse get reworked, etc. I'm certain that if you compare the killer nerfs since release there are actually more killer nerfs than survivor nerfs so how are the devs killer sided?

I sent him the video at least twice.

Also they wouldn't have cratered Legion and just said "Lol watch the survivors go down, it's so fun!"

  • 60 seconds is far too long. That survivor could pop off a hook, go work on a gen to around 60% and then get downed and STILL being able to DS. I'm not sure why people think that's okay.

I never tunnel, camp, and barely slug if I can help it and I still eat DS. It's a pain right in the... hmm... Entity.

  • Prolly just not let you have more than 1

  • Side note: I saw the word "Optimal" thrown around for just doing the gens and leaving instantly. Don't do that. As a Killer that really just makes me think "Why Bother" or that it was ultimately uninteresting cause of not being able to do much about the gens popping like popcorn. Play the game, have fun. It's not about being "Optimal" and alot of people think it is... it's about enjoying yourself.

  • @HaterMcTater said:

Perks spark controversy all the time, that's why perks that are deserving of change are changed. Perks like Mettle of Mann and Decisive were unfun to play against and were thus changed (thankfully so) however, one of the most controversial killer perks (Noed) has only been buffed since it's creation. It's important to note that the only issue I have with this perk is that it rewards failure. I play both killer and survivor and find that it teaches bad habits to newer killers, brings bad killers to higher ranks, and causes frustration. The goal of this post is to change Noed into a more balanced but competitively viable in the perk meta.

Here's what I find to be a good change for Noed. First, keep it as a dull totem that turns into a hex totem, however, make it turn into a hex totem after the 2nd or 3rd gen is completed, but keep it active for the duration of the match. It no longer increases movement speed and grants one shots down, instead, it's designed to slow down the gens for the duration of the match (at least when it's still active). Now, every time a generator is completed the next generator will repair 8/9/10% slower, up to a maximum of 32/36/40% slower gens when 4 are completed and the totem is still active. Lastly, any gen not being worked on or repaired currently, will lose 1% of progression passively for every 1 second it isn't worked on (if it is damaged by a killer, it has normal gen regression + natural perk regression). All in all, the perk is designed to drastically slow down the game for every gen completed.

Summary: Noed becomes a hex after 3rd gen completion, but is active all match. Every gen completed slows every other gen down by 8/9/10% up to a maximum of 32/36/40% and gens not being worked on regresses 1% for every second it's not being worked on.

I want to hear anyone's thoughts and opinions, and any other possible changes they might have!

I like this idea! But not as a change for NOED but a perk of it's own! The numbers need tweaking but you got some good ideas rattling around!

  • Oh.... well the ONE issue I see with this new thing is it would make you need to run those two add-ons. That and i'm sure people would complain about being MFD. Though as far as that goes I don't care as much about that.

Perhaps put a slight penalty to MFD on those times base? Though, the main thing that would make me think is why would people remove it... Hmm...

I do like the idea of FF not putting Deep wounds on them, cause the way DW is right now, it's more annoying than threatening.

Side note I love the name "Marked For Death" cause it relates to the term "Mark" which is what thieves and such would call someone that looked easy to rob or fleece.

    @MongByeolBuddies said:

I just thought of this idea, and I think it's better and makes more sense, and completely removes mending altogether. I'm interested in what you think.

What about instead of Feral Frenzy applying Deep Wounds, it applied Marked for Death. MFD lasts 60 seconds. That gives you 60 seconds to use Mob Mentality.

Then survivors no longer need to worry about mending, and the killer no longer needs to worry about using MM before the survivor mends.

And for slowdown, Legion's add-ons can be changed this way:

Nasty Blade: Applies a considerable penalty to Sabotage, Healing and Repair Action Speeds for survivors affected by MFD

Filthy Blade: Applies a tremendous penalty to Sabotage, Healing and Repair Action Speeds for survivors affected by MFD.

  • This is an interesting Idea! Seems to be a variant of one that's in my Legion rework thread!

Only issue is no one uses lockers really! Also, it would get rid of the rushdown style I enjoy so much, so till that's fixed I can't support this as much as I want!

  • I have people rage quit to my Legion. It's really weird the mental crap that people pull to justify leaving a party game...

  • I really wanted to be snarky and just go "Oh no... I can't run in a circle... guy pls help."

But I'm not like that! Mostly you just have to try and trick her, mindgame her back. I've seen plenty of people on Youtube do such things so I'd suggest looking there and learning what they do.

Nurse and Spirit are the only two that you can't really Loop, so it makes sense to me that people complain about them cause they make them have to think. Honestly, we need to buff lower tier Killers up, then worry about trimming the top.

How can you tell something like that? We all love dbd and we all want to continue playing and enjoy it. And as someone who really wants to continue playing DbD I actually want to raise my voice to change something. Just "leave it for a while" won't make the situation better out of the sudden. Those who just leave instead of giving constant feedbacks are the reason why things aren't getting changed. But tbf, we gave bhvr a lot of feedback and they hardly listen, so understand if that's frustating for others

Mostly cause every time I see you, you are being Rude AF.

Secondly cause the forums ALREADY exploded over this.

You want them to see it? Put it in PTB feedback. They Actively look there. Putting it here just starts drama.

  • @MongByeolBuddies said:

Another thing that would be good about incorporating all team members into Legion's power is that it would really help my suspension of disbelief!

In one game, I'm a survivor being chased by a disfigured beast of a man with a chainsaw who eats people and I'm scared, then in the next, I'm a survivor being chased by a monster who has a face full of razor-sharp teeth and I'm scared, then in the next, I'm a survivor being chased by a teenage girl with a pointy ruler and I'm ... wait, what?!?

However, if that teenage girl was accompanied by three other teenagers hiding somewhere with knives, I actually would be scared. :)

You know, you right. We need a bit more scare factor in the game, but more so in Legion. These changes would bring that about. Then we'd quit having survivors say "Just a teenager with a knife" and Killers stop saying "A survivor that found a knife."

Though, interesting lore stand point here. Legion is the least messed up Physically.... which means the Entity didn't have to torture them to get them to work with her. They prolly just shrugged and looked at Frank who said "Sure."

  • I just want lower Tier killers to be buffed.

As for Nurse changes, i've tried to tell people my reasoning till i'm blue in the face. Just play the game and try to have fun. If you don't then leave it for a while.

  • Huh... werid that alot of lower tier Killers get bullied by (some not all) survivors, everyone things nurse got nerfed... and now you only see Spirit. What could have led to this?

  • I'd love to have Legion or Clown main screen theme on repeat. Yes please.

  • OP why do you only go around the forum posting things that start drama? Every time I see you, you are trying to stir up hate between the sides or drama, or openly insulting people. Why? It makes no sense to just be a "Fire Starter".

  • I have the opposite issue. I get stunned alot for things I think I should have hit with. Or even stunned by the VERY EDGE of the pallet hitbox!

But yeah, it's basically everything everyone has said.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/754767#Comment_754767

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Maybe I can change your mind about a few things.

     1) Having Small Game work against Mob Mentality would be very beneficial for survivors. If The Legion player is smart, they'd use MM next to vaults and doorways so survivors won't see the traps before the survivors have crossed the threshold and taken the hit. Small Game alerts them that there is a Legion member there without having to see them.

As for the audio cue for detecting MM, this would only trigger after after a brief amount of time of the survivor holding the camera on the Legion member like it does for Ghostface so the survivor will actually have to spot them.

    2) When Mob Mentality is used, survivors need some way to know. If not, MM will be way too OP as no survivor would ever be able to loop anything. For example, anytime a survivor started to loop, Legion would simply use MM, the unknowing survivor would continue the loop and either get hit by MM or turn around and get hit by The Legion.

    3) I like The Legion using active DW status effects for charges of MM. Here's why: A. No survivor likes mending. Therefore, when Legion uses MM, the DW-affected survivors can start playing again. B. It keeps Legion from having two powers with cooldowns, which would be be annoying for the player. C. It provides a visual cue (disappearance of DW bar) that survivors will have to pay attention too, rather than an audio cue (such as The Legion whistling for a teammate to come). Looping a good killer is hard and having to pay attention to one more thing makes it even harder. D. Conceptually, it makes sense. "Hey, Joe. I've really injured this survivor. Come here and help me finish the job." E. It rewards The Legion for successfully hitting survivors with FF, giving The Legion MM, and rewards survivors for successfully evading Legion, denying The Legion MM.

    4) Survivors knowing you've placed a trap is only a bad thing if The Legion uses MM poorly. If Legion pushes the survivor to an area with only 2 paths, he uses MM to block one of the paths and moves the other way to block the other path. And if the survivor gets to a strong loop, Legion can use MM to force the survivor away from it.

    5) After hitting a survivor with FF, if you leave that survivor and chase after another survivor, The Legion has until that survivor completes the mend action to use MM, by default 15 seconds. That's more than enough time to get close to another survivor, use MM, circle around the other direction, hit that survivor with FF, and chase that survivor back in the direction of where you used MM and get the down.

Anyway thanks again. Whatever the Devs decide to do with Legion, doing something with all Legion members would be cool.

My ONLY issue with this is that getting rid of the mending would kill the only SLIGHT slow down Legion has. That and if Survivors just mend quickly, then you lose your power in a way. It always feels like by the time I hit someone else, that the first is mended...

  • @Frosty said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/753764#Comment_753764

This sounds like a very cool concept. It would make Legion way more appealing to play as.

I especially like the idea @pemberley proposed, about the team member holding the survivor for the main player to come stab, it's extra brutal and I'm sure it would be less buggy then trying to make a npc Lunge and hit a survivor, especially when you consider they can employ tactics that cause a human to miss hits.

Maybe a stipulation would be that they have to be placed next to a collideable object as to mimic them hiding in cover.

The appearance and disappearence of the team members would be hard to do smoothly with eyes possibly watching from all angles so I think the puff of smoke would be the simplest solution.

None the less, I hope to see some of these ideas throughout the entire thread in what is hopefully a inevitable Legion rework.

Same! I like the idea of them grabbing onto the survivor too, though as one other person here said, I'm not sure it should be tied to DW. It's kinda a HUGE FLAG that something is going down.

I do really like the idea though and it goes back to the gang or "Legion" mindset that they have. It is even reflected in the Lore with stabbing that one guy while the rest held him.

If that was combined with some of the other ideas for FF as a whole (such as the removing TR or the Increase to movement speed as you hit people with FF) and a removal of some of the needless nerfs (lose 50% of your bar with an M1. I never understood that, no other Killer has that right? Can't see blood in FF. Missing makes you eat a 4 second stun) or even just a lowering of those... I really think Legion would be in a very good place and would not be widely regarded as the Weakest or one of the weakest Killers.

Yes Devs, the exploit sucked for everyone. But please let the people who like them have something? I came back to DBD after I left in the horror days of 2016-2017 (I don't remember exactly when) cause I loved Legion's lore and playstyle. It's why I am STILL HERE despite the nerfing. So please, take some of these lovely Ideas!

  • He never did give me that list.

  • @WickedKatz You still didn't really answer me though. Alot of Low Tier Killers don't have "Map Pressure." Such as Clown. Sometimes just cause you want to play Wraith or Clown or Legion or whatever, you are shooting yourself in the leg with trying to effect the match enough even to kill 2. You have to play harder or in ways you don't really like to "win".

Surely you can agree it shouldn't be this way.

  • @WickedKatz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/758716#Comment_758716

That means nothing. During all the time the old legion was here, bloodhound was a top tier perk and you weren't supposed to chase. Now, the way you are supposed to play him is so different that it is almost a whole new killer. Put Corrupt Intervention on him, you will see survivors will stack on gens and make your life a whole lot easier. I really like running Pop, Corrupt, Enduring and Spirit Fury in him, the 2 last to help chases

I myself get alot of milage outta STBFL+ Corrupt+ Thrilling+ Surge!

Some of them most definitely seen it but they def won't comment for multiple reasons.

    • If they comment on one thing then people would rightfully expect them to comment on everything, which is obviously an unrealistic expectation, noone has that much time.
    • The opinion of one dev does not reflect everyone's feelings on the matter.
    • They also prob don't want to influence our thought process too much

I certainly understand your feeling, uncertainty and apparent lack of care sucks but that's just how things are.

And I def share your excitement about the whole Mob Mentality thing, I have this mental image of being able to order a Legion member to take cover around the corner, like how Haytham is standing here: https://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/assassins-creed-3/a/a6/Assassins_Creed_3.Screenshot.29.jpg

    And that'd be so cool.

I guess... It just would be nice to know that they have seen all these good ideas. I really am trying to think up more and more reworks or ideas. I really want Legion to be better, but keep the same Rush Down Playstyle.

Also YES that picture is like what i was thinking!

  • Yeah this would make the balance cartwheel madly. Not a good plan!

  • @Sluzzy said:

Firstly, there is no way they have the money to hire testers equivalent to the size of their playerbase. The reason they need to test with a group the size of their playerbase is because they are probably trying to test things like server capacity and how the servers perform under stress.

Secondly, by playing the game knowing that the servers are currently live, you are in effect opting in as a tester. There was no agreement between you and the developers, to my knowledge, when you bought the game that stipulated they had to consistently meet your experiential expectations as long as you were playing the game. You are not entitled to anything.

Thirdly, if the last test is anything to go by, it will be back to normal in a few days. So maybe just take a step back and calm down a bit. Play something else for a while if you're not interested in being part of the dedicated server tests.

The exposed allows a killer to easily secure a kill or waste a lot of time during the egc .
