I have been and how long did it take for nurse to get nerfed compared to how fast survivors get nerfed

Yeah, I see it's pointless talking to you about this. Have fun in the Fog.

You can still get ridicilous hits while dropping pallets but it's still related to the ping and happens all the time, not just while dropping pallets. I'm sure they are talking about those, why would anyone complain if they can see the killer actually hitting them?

Do you even play survivor at all? If you do, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Hmm? Yeah I play survivor but i'm terrible at it. From what i can see, this post was started cause someone got hit as they dropped a pallet. Cool, that happens. It's not a bug as alot of people here has said.

I'm not talking about your 5 feet away and get hit through a window or something stupid like that. THAT is ping.

  • It would be nice to get rid of the ones that are retired at least.

Ah no it's fine! Go ahead and answer over there if you want now! I get distracted too

  • Yeah... run BT or wait for the Killer to leave.

  • @Jb94 said:

OK. So it's the job of the killer to generate tempo for the entire game. Every single DS over the course of the game causes a significant decrease in tempo- it isn't just the case that one survivor gets a second chance--the entire survivor team get a reprive (that feeling you get as a survivor when a survivor goes down then is suddenly back to injured- that's not just camaraderie- you now know the approximate location of the killer, know someone is likely occupying their time and don't have drop your current task).

At red ranks if you get hit by DS and there are four survivors left and two or less gens, then, unless you're playing a killer who can use their power and perks to snowball very rapidly (instadown potential basically), the game is over--the gates are getting powered. However-- the survivor that just jumped off your shoulder is injured and either has 1 or 0 hooks left in them. Camping the survivor is either a last ditch attempt to bait out poorly executed altruism plays OR resignation to loss and the decision that its better to get 3 tbags at the exit gate rather than 4.

Moreover: as a fairly experienced killer the ONLY time I will ever get hit by DS is if I didn't realise the perk was still up- not someone I tunneled off the hook, someone I bump into and down without realising its been under a minute since their unhook. It feels incredibly unfair to be punished by an 'anti-tunneling' perk when you aren't tunneling- the desire to throw some unfair punishment back at the survivor is (imo) understandable.

Tl:dr- If any killer with even moderate playtime decides to camp you after a DS, it's likely resignation to loss fueling the desire to secure at least one kill on the person who 'deserves' it most. Not the best note to end a game on, but an understandable reaction which is well within the killer's discretion.

    Pretty much this.

    @UlvenDagoth

Glad we share the same opinion!

I've seen you in my Legion thread I think... good to see you got a good head on your shoulders

  • I'd like to trade in all the stupid add-ons OR SPLINTERS FOR KILLERS I BOUGHT WITH ACs... sorry that still annoys me.

    I'd like this system.

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/761083#Comment_761083

No, it is really the game's fault if you get hit after the killer gets stunned. The same thing also happens often on windows. There are so many stupid hits caused by ping issues and they must be fixed with the servers.

They are talking about being hit as they drop the pallet. As you have seen from others in this same post, it's timing. I'm done talking about this cause yall aren't listening. Just drop it earlier. The End.

Dedicated servers aren't live, they're still being tested in ptb. They're only testing capacity right now, they've made it very clear that they're not testing hit detection and other latency issues. Besides the fact that I'm on PS4, and there are absolutely no servers on this platform. You should educate yourself a little bit more on networking and algorithms related to gaming before you try schooling me about it. Bye Felisha!

How about you keep this civil? I haven't insulted you once this whole time.

Now then, you are on PS4. Cool, So that is prolly either frame rate.... you know what? I'm not gonna bother. You are resorting to insults that make no sense, and assuming that I don't know what I am talking about as well as ignoring what a Dev said and what other people are telling you.

You are like talking to a brick wall, but even more pointless cause you could understand if you just tried. So, have fun in the Fog, i'm done talking to you.

  • @Nicholas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/761162#Comment_761162

The current experience in the live game is that the Killer is the authority and the host of the match. So yes latency plays a huge role in what actually plays out during the match.

Nope. It is not the case, and in fact hasn't dedicated servers been active for a bit now? For testing? Pretty sure it was in live not too long ago. So if you had it during then, you really can't blame lag.

I'm really getting the feeling that you arn't gonna listen no matter how many times you are told by several different people that you are wrong in this. Unless you happily jump face first into red ping, latency doesn't matter as much.

Also, guess what? Even a Dev said that the Killer and YOUR net matters when you join a game (When servers are not being tested) So maybe if you are wanting to blame it so hard on lag, you should check your own net.

But seriously, you have people on Survivor telling you that you are wrong. Just, listen and learn from the post and try and drop earlier.

  • @Nicholas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/761140#Comment_761140

LOL being in the injured state isn't ideal and being in the dying State can cost you the match too. Especially if you're on your last hook.

@UlvenDagoth there are a lot of things that can be devastating to both roles, but as someone who plays both actively I still think it is more devastating for Survivor to go from injured to dying then it is for a killer to eat the stun. With that said, I think it should just be fair and based on the server. The current system is killer Authority and that is a really poorly designed system.

@CatHound22 I forgot to add that the dedicated servers don't yet reflect the new hit detection and other enhancements to the game. Right now they're just testing capacity I believe? They haven't made any adjustments to the core experience.

... it's not ping. It's you dropped it too late. That's Literally all. You have survivor mains telling you this. Stop blaming you doing it late on lag. It's not a bug.

  • @Milo said:

    Huh, Then imagine this:

You get Second Wind, You get tunnelled for like 15 seconds, you d-strike the killer (still technically in dying state), you stun them for 5 seconds then you run for 10 and you got healed.

and this right here is why it doesn't work in dying state.

  • @Gibberish said:

The Totem system in general is bad and should be totally reworked.

Even if they were to "make totem spawns better" there is literally nothing to stop experienced Survivors from learning all the possible spawn locations. Changing totem spawn locations literally only affects newbies.

    I agree with you.

  • Also, trust me. You will not get hit through pallet every single time. I got enough pallets over my head for no gain to know that. If you get hit, you got greedy and did it too late. I've seen people have it timed TO THE NANOSECOND it feels like. Like I feel like i should have hit them but nope, Pallet to the head.

    It's all timing.

  • @Nicholas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/761071#Comment_761071

Trades can be devastating to survivors. A killer? Not so much. A killer can survive a stun and continue to Tunnel or chase you but a Survivor is either now injured or in the dying State. That's a huge difference.

Yeah, and long chases can be devastating to Killers. So can Gen times, or the fact that 3 other people are doing gens while you run around.

  • ALso, I think all the button add-ons would be FINE if they would apply on first hit! The stun aint worth it!

  • @Gibberish said:

The game is very heavily balanced in the Survivor's favour. Sure the Killer can stomp newbies and bad players easily, but against genuinely good Survivors that are playing to win? Killers have little to no chance.

A 10/10 Killer player can easily get stomped by a good Survivor team. Its just the way the game is, even if they play as as close to perfect as possible the core mechanics of the game are stacked against them.

    @NoShinyPony said:

I'm a survivor main as well and believe that this game is heavily survivor favoured.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/761082#Comment_761082

I have no way knowing why I am just saying based off how things work that's what will happen cause what gets nerfed is based off what people call for and when killers tend to call for something it happens. I am just saying and I know it makes no sense but it is what it is. Show me where I am wrong to think that based off the last few months.

People could argue that when survivors call for things it gets nerfs too. Nurse, for example.

This talk is really just going in circles. You can plainly see both sides are getting buffs and nerfs just by looking at patch notes.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/761054#Comment_761054

lmao I guess I've been tunneled and camped by a billy for hitting him once with head on today

okay? Why did you mention me for that? I hate playing as Billy LUL

  • It's not a bug or your ping or anything like that. It's literally down to "you dropped too late."

It's that simple. If every drop was a stun, that would be silly.

  • @siyke26 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/761052#Comment_761052

To be fair in the low tier games things are pretty balanced as they were months ago I am not saying game wasn't broken when was released but those days have long since passed so holding on to those days as way justifying putting survivors down mean that survivors will never get to have anything nice because now it's med kits who knows what's next I know keys are popular right then what another perk because as survivors have anything that halfway works the killers will call for a nerf til game becomes one sided in the killers favor then there won't be a point to play survivor then game will die but luckily there are a lot of perks so I guess it will be awhile before survivor is completely unplayable.

But you have to remember the devs DON'T WANT THERE GAME TO DIE. Thinking like you are is silly. Why would they let the game get that way?

  • @siyke26 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/760981#Comment_760981

But in my experience the nerfs tend to stack more heavy towards the survivor side they recently buffed up demogorgon survivors received no such buff so balance as say they should or take from both side equally and not what the killer mains whine about the most just periodically take from killers to save face

Bredan said what I was gonna. That's the best way to put it. Survivors were on a mountain. To get it back to balanced, they needed to be knocked down. It needs to even out yes, but only once it's even to start with.

  • @MysterTal said:

I'm a Killer Main with over 1000 hours.

In my opinion, NOED does reward bad gameplay and is OP or at least badly designed.

I'm not a great player, myself, I consider myself to be more of an average player both as Killer and Survivor. I have played the game for a while and have been to Rank 1 as both.

It is my opinion that players who use and defend use of NOED overall are less experienced, with less understanding of the game.

I see a lot of Killers who simply don't know how to chase efficiently and do not understand what it means to apply pressure on a team and how to do it.

I've seen Killers committing to a chase against strong Survivors around strong loops (Coal Tower's main building into a chain of jungle gyms and back again) for 3-4 gens who then complain that gens go too fast.

And there's a lot of tunneling. I've been tunneled for an entire match by a Trapper who outright refused to change targets until he finally caught me (exit gates were powered by then). I've been chased pretty much for an entire match on Wretched Shop by a Killer who simply did not understand that the Hag is not a long-range chaser who can just run after Survivors with zero prep and that there are four Survivors to deal with.

A lot of this comes down to moving inefficiently during chases, not having the game sense to know what chases to take and what chases to just leave, when to slug, when to go back to a hooked Survivor, what gens to patrol and defend and which gens to sacrifice.

Again, I'm not saying I'm a master of any of these skills, but I do understand that becoming aware of them and keeping them in mind makes a huge difference.

I see Killers making huge mistakes all the time. Killers who seem to believe that every chase must end in a hook and who will run after one Survivor to the ends of the earth for minutes upon minutes.

Killers camping or chasing a Survivor to a hook and try to position themselves to hit the unhooked Survivor instead of taking a free hit (or even a down) on the rescuer, getting Borrowed Time'd, then tunneling the unhooked, getting DS'd and still tunneling the unhooked through a strong loop until they just lose.

If I chase someone for more than 15 seconds and the chase does not result in a hit or me getting at least one pallet out of the way, I ######### leave that Survivor and change targets.

If I get a map like Coal Tower, I will sacrifice the tower gen every time. If I chase someone on that map and they so much as glance at the direction of The Tower of Bullshit, I drop the chase.

If I chase someone and realize they're very good Survivors, they are not worth my time and I will try to catch them at another time through altruism.

There are areas on every map where you simply do not want to take a chase. There are some Survivors you simply have to give up on during the early game phase. There are gens on every map that are simply not worth the time to patrol and defend.

Yes, Killers overall are weak or at least disadvantaged compared with Seal Team 6 Survivor squads who know to split pressure and which gens to contest first. That doesn't mean we can't do anything at all against them.

Most Survivors out there are not Seal Team 6, however. Not even most SWFs.

None of this justifies NOED and anyone who compares NOED with Adrenaline simply does not understand the game.

If you think that you are completely powerless to slow down the gens without a Perk or that you cannot apply pressure at all because you are playing a weaker Killer, you are just not a very good Killer yet.

Yes, your ability to apply pressure will be harder and yes, sometimes the Survivors are just too strong - but that's how it should be: if the Survivors band together well, split pressure well and chase well, they fully deserve their win. It's not as fair if they're a 4-player SWF on comms who play the game like it's the Olympics, and those do have an unfair advantage over Killers - but play Survivor in solo queue for a week and by Tuesday you will fully understand why they exist.

It's true that you will probably lose automatically by going against those, but even they are not unbeatable and you can at least play well and get something out of that match - and yes, Seal Team 6 squads can be beaten. With good pathing, rotation and a bit of luck.

Am I personally confident in my ability to do so? No, but do I think that the one Seal Team 6 squad I'll face out of a dozen casuals who run around like headless chickens justifies NOED? Absolutely not.

There are characters like Legion who are simply very weak right now. That said, I have 4k'd as Legion in the purple ranks against good Survivors and on a map that was terrible for me and they didn't get to power the exit gates at all.

Is it because I'm a god? ######### no, I'm a potato. I managed to seize on their mistakes, kept a cool head, changed targets, applied pressure on multiple Survivors and minded my rotation.

I know a lot of you will eat my head now and completely disagree with me, and that's ok. Without sounding conceited, some of you simply have less time in the game. I was just like you when I had 200-400 hours. Just like growing up in real life, there are phases you just go through. When you gain more experience and understanding of the game, you might see things differently - and maybe not, and that's ok too. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and if you think that everything I said is false and NOED is the bomb, then I wish you all the best.

If I can give newer Killer Mains some advice, I would say: Watch experienced streamers, keep playing the game, try to gain a wider understanding of it. Play Survivor for a while to learn the game from our prey's perspective. Don't be afraid to play against strong Survivors and don't sink into a pit of bitterness and despair over a bad match. We all make mistakes and there's always room for improvement.

Consider bad matches a learning experience. Don't lose your head because a Survivor teabags. Think of the game more like a strategic match, like chess. Look back at your own matches and try to analyze them objectively - what have you done that might have been a mistake? How can you improve next time? What should you have done instead of what you did?

And if you feel yourself relying on any one Perk, try playing without it for a while.

And finally, Brothers and Sisters in the Entity, may your feet never know Haddonfield and your hooks always be warm.

Good luck and see you in the Fog.

Woo that was long. I just want to add that I too can 4k as Legion in purple and red ranks, cause I've played them FOREVER. Teaches you alot. Heck, when I play another Killer i feel like that guy in the Kung fu movies that take off the weighted clothes and fight for real for once. So why do I play Legion? Cause they are very fun to me. I love the Rush down style. Heck, that's why I have a long thread in Feedback trying to get ideas for Legion's power.

I really liked how eloquent you were in this post, and I wish you fun in the Fog too.

What I meant was there is no need to keep hitting survivor side over and over I get some perks were a big deal but at same time people buy the character for that perk just have pooped on

Ohhh okay. I can kinda understand what you mean now. Though, the "strongest" killer got nerfed at the same time. So it's not exactly all on the survivor side here. They have to take from both sides, keep things even. That's what Balance is.

  • @siyke26 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/760883#Comment_760883

It's that I don't look around or I don't listen. I have tried to do both but what I find most is what I find most not saying other things are not there but they are not prominent. Either way it seems that you wouldnt want to see it on my side as seems you too are stuck in your own thoughts as most are I am guilty of it as well but I have made an effort to see thing from both spectrums.

Look through my comments, then say I don't see both sides. I look at the big picture, and try to keep both sides of the discussion civil. I defend Survivors and Killers, because the Survivor vs. Killer mindset is stupid in a forum where there should be constructive and good feedback.

What I meant, was that there is alot of whining from both sides. I do my best to not be biased and to see everything from every side. Frankly, I just have a hard time reading your posts cause they kinda are written oddly. I just assume you don't have english as a first language and do the best I can.

The point I was attempting to make was that old DBD was so heavily survivor sided it was silly. If they hadn't gotten "Taken a peg or two down" as you said, the game would have died. Seeing the old footage as you said, i don't see why you don't see that they NEEDED to be nerfed to have any kind of balance in the game at ALL.

If Huntresses + Clowns throw their hatchets/bottles at the hooked person, then yes, this can indeed be just some practicing.

I mean you should be happy if a Clown does it. It's part anesthetic so it dulls the pain.

  • The only thing i do is hit the last guy with FF cause it lets me do the animation as I run off for more points.

Fair enough. I don't see how else you could design a sort of rushdown playstyle without it being horribly oppressive to the survivors.

I honestly think old legion + the deep wounds doesn't go down in TR + cancel FF on missed attacks is enough for them. Who knows what the devs do with Legion. Doesn't look like any changes any time soon :(

I have hope they will do something. That's why that thread is being kept alive as hard as it is. One day they will see all the good ideas there and might use them.

    Wow... that's kinda rude man.

  • I still kinda think it would hurt more than help. I don't mean to be rude or anything of course. I just think it wouldn't help as much. I just want them to keep the rush down playstyle they have. I played alot of Legion, new and old. In fact Legion is WHY i came back to DBD after the 2016-2017 times. I love the lore and the playstyle.

110% with a normal TR of 32 feels really rough. The 50% mending thing seems a bit off too, for some reason.

I want them to have the Rushdown playstyle they have and I enjoy, but I don't think that reverting it back to how it used to be would be the way to go. You could always put this in my thread where alot of Legion mains chill at. Might get some feed back.

I would absolutely explode if they gave him something he can mindgame with. That is a big reason I'm starting to use Hag in the higher ranks (that and almost infinite map pressure)

Ohhh you'd like the "Mob Mentality" idea Mong had then. Go take a look!

That's fine. Have you looked over at my Legion... oh wait you said it was the least toxic one. I remember. I hope they get something soon. Seeing as Legion brought me back to the game in the first place and is my main, i'd like to see them get something better.

I really only reference it in a sense that he IS able to sprint.

Maybe it could go like this:

Press Shift to sprint faster at the cost of more stamina loss. Maybe even letting you down survivors after running a certain distance?

Oh, so like a rework that uses shift? naw, I don't really know if that would be the best idea.

You.... really don't look around alot huh?

Well, you seem the type to not listen, so I should prolly not bother.

  • Or, and hear me out, you could play the game for fun and remember it's a game. I know, its really weird, but you could try it.

  • @StarMoral said:

That does feel great doing that, but I also wonder if they tie it to shift and have no duration.

I mean, if i can take an idea from my Rework Legion thread...

a secondary power that you could use in addition too FF would go on shift or more likely, Left control.

I don't think they'd ever let it have no duration. I think you are referencing Sprinting in other games, but I think it would be weird here.

  • Why does everyone do it during Bloodhunt? No idea.

  • @siyke26 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/760468#Comment_760468

I would say killer mains to be fair because they can say as they just a one of the most uncounterable killers slightly touched so but looking at the history survivors have had more things knocked a peg or 2 some to the point of unusable MoM for one. So I can see why some would have something to say.

Have you seen what DBD used to be?

  • I mean, if they HAD another one. I like m2 for the FF though, cause I can click m2 then m1 for fast hits if need be.

  • Welp, good bye to your ears.

  • Huh.... you got some good ideas here! Do you do more than perks? These are really good!

  • So is breaking out of a chase when you can catch them. Waiting out the SB would just screw you, that's why it's there.

  • This is all very well planned out... but I don't really see why this would be better than anything else. Remember, people hated Old Legion cause they put the Chase on a TIMER. I feel like this is too close to what Old Legion was, and that it really doesn't play into the lore as much as some other ideas that I have seen in my Rework Legion thread.

With this the moonwalking issue of Legion would still come back, cause they would follow you long enough to get you to 50%, hit you and get stunned then either leave you to bleed out or whatever.

I do REALLY like the add-ons though. You did good there.

Knocking them down to 110% with the TR being 32 would hurt ALOT as well. There are reasons that 115% are the ones with 32 TR.

Overall, very interesting but not... well it's well thought out but not what Legion needs.

1 … 34 35 36 37 38 … 62
