Hard to knock someone out with a chainsaw

    Someone else made this point.

    Someone else countered it. Here's what they said;

I heard that claws, knifes, machetes or katanas usually don't knockout people either :]

  • @Almo said:

We don't want it triggering on getting downed by an addoned Bear Trap, or going down to Deep Wound, etc. It's better game design if we don't start stacking up a series of exceptions.

Just read someone say that it should work like infectious and only work on downs. For parts like deep wound, if you went down to deep wound you obviously weren't paying attention or prioritizing what your doing. Bear trap downs are very rare(in my experience) and are used to slug. Giving it synergy with knock out seems like it would be a great combo that is counter able(swf, or watching where the person got down in a bear trap) to my knowledge when a survivor is trapped in a bear trap, other survivors see that and where they are. Now you know the general area, go there and you should be in range to see them through knock out.

The same can be said about surge. Having it trigger from special attacks can cause some interesting builds and more use out of the perk besides JUST on Ghostface or legion(I see it the most on them)

I feel that having it based on basic attacks only restricts the perk a lot

I guess I understand that. My main problem is it messes with the Leatherface adept. If your doing good and playing the way your supposed to your going to get chainsaw hits and downs, essentially making one of your three perks useless. Granted 2/3 of his perks are useless on him but still. Trying to do adept bubba is playing bubba with bbq and I find that kinda crappy

  • @Xyvielia said:

The definition of knockout is “to make a person unconscious, typically with a blow to the head”

Chainsaw’s cut people up, they typically don’t really “knock people out”

The blunt force trauma caused by that huge mallet makes perfect sense to render someone unconscious... hence the perk’s name Knockout

And when one eats chili from a bbq they get they ability to see people from great distances

Jokes aside while that makes sense, it's kind of poorly designed to make a slug perk that would and should be used by special one shot killers have to be basic attack so one shot killer don't get much use out of it

  • @GhostMaceNotCrusty said:

Because if they made knockout activate with special attacks. then they gotta make things like Franklin's work with special attacks. Then they would also need stbfl and pwyf to also be affected by special attacks. It just makes it easier having it only work on basic attacks

I disagree. Knock out it made for slugging. One shot down killers are the ones who slug the most, Oni, Bubba, Billy. I think they can make exceptions for perks that are designed a certain way. Stbfl is made to be a basic attack perk so it makes sense that it's only affected by basic attacks. And I think pwyf is affected by any kind of attack, special, basic, hit or miss.

I just think knock out should be a special case

  • @Clevite said:

    Just don't DC.

No excuses, unless you're stuck in a glitch.

If you do it, accept the consequences. Besides, it looks really bad when a killer DCs. You realize you are actually giving them a greater victory than just losing, when DCing. Fight until the end, then open the doors. Egc will eventually get them out.

    Go break some pallets.

I was expecting a 5 minute timeout.i knew disconnecting was gonna hurt me but I wasn't expecting such a long timeout when I usually never dc

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

    Have you been DCing more?

    No I rarely ever dc.

  • @lowiq said:

Play how you like. Running strong things is perfectly fine if you want to win. But stop trying to justify it to yourself and others.

It's easy to see why people don't like playing against R/U just like why people don't like playing against DS/UB. But don't make up reasons to tell others why they should like it.

I'm just pointing out something that I learned. I rarely use r/u cause I don't have undying on all killers. I'm not trying to change your minds I'm just trying to point something out to them. It's up to them to realize tho

  • Doctor can use it kinda well but It works best on class photo Freddy, which is the add on that makes it so blood spurts at every gen. But survivors will realize you have it.

Idk deadmans switch is a weird perk

  • I've been a Freddy main but after they reworked him he started getting really stale, to the point now he's just boring to play

I am now maining Pyramid Head. I find his gameplay to be much more engaging and just funner

As for survivor I'm a Cheryl main.

One can probably tell that I love silent hill

  • Dayum that's awesome man

I think there's a spirit addon where bloodhound might be useful, never really tried it as I didn't use her much except to fart around with surveilance/undying/ruin once I had all 3 on her just a couple or few times. It worked really well though especially on old ormond because the skilodge was like a nexus point for me. I got around so fast they hardly had any time to start working on anything except when somebody was being dragged to a hook. Grabbed somebody off a gen twice doing that, but I think i was looking at bloodhound and curious about that perk cause iirc when looking at her addons one mentioned seeing blood trails in the phase walk thing.

She has an add on that is basically just bloodhound, and if you mix it with sloppy butcher its pretty strong

  • @MythMage said:

"The only perk that was useful was Shadowborne, and that's stretching it"

I see what you did there. Funny pun, even if it wasn't intended

Aaaaaaah I didnt notice that. That's amazing

I'm in purple ranks as a killer. Purple ranked and red ranked survivors are typically really damn good at hiding (or maybe I just suck at finding them lol), so for me, having those brighter blood puddles and scratch marks is nice.

Understandable. I will say bloodhound is nice to have, but compared to other perks it feels wasted

  • @[Deleted User] said:

"Wraiths perks SUCK. like seriously the only one I got use out of was shadowborn and that's stretching it."

Interesting. I find Shadowborn to be the one useless perk, and Bloodhound and Predator to be the more useful ones.

But regarding the adept, great job! Wraith's adept was the only one I had for the longest time because he was the only killer I ever played. Then eventually I played some of the other killers and got all the adepts for all the killers I own (except Nurse because I just can't learn her at all).

I find bloodhound and predator to be kinda nonsensical. When you play for a while you kinda get to know peoples movements and things. I'm not saying I got absolutely zero value out of anything but it was slim. I find shadowborn to be good because I like high fov. Kinda wish shadowborn didn't take a perk slot tho

  • @SocialDistomancy said:

lol at this point I probably wouldn't have admitted to freddy being my only adept somebody is bound to comment about it

I'm not talking "OP" Freddy as people seem to think. I'm talking dumpster diving bully magnet pre rework freddy. He was my main then as he is now. He just always been fun to me

  • Man I wish the survs I went against had your luck. I can't frickin hit anybody. Bashes with my giant clubs or a knife in their back, somehow aren't hitting them. They just need to find something else idk, but this seems to be screwing both sides. Especially when I play oni holy crap

  • Yeah also can't place dream snares within about 5 meters of the gate

  • Pyramid heads knife is frikin huge. If you have it its own hitbox he could literally hit you from one corner of the shack to the other. Not a good idea

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/211523/what-i-want-to-see-happen-to-freddy

They can't just remove the little things that make him unique to other killer what is the point of playing him then? And he doesn't need a nerf at all. They just look at the StAtiStIcS and then make absurd decisions. Like saying people who use DS die alot still so it doesn't need a nerf but pop goes the weasel needs a nerf to the time but DS having 60 seconds is fine somehow.

I'm not saying he needs any nerf I think he is perfectly balanced and that it's BS that they are looking at him rn. I'm just stating that if they do change anything this is what I think they should change. It wouldn't break him but it would make him slightly less annoying and won't inconvenience a good Freddy player

  • Imagine playing against pyramid head with this idea.

    Oof

  • @Grim_Grimz said:

that would make him too powerful. swing to cancel blight if you miss you need a cooldown as that was a mis-angled rush and doesnt deserve a hti for incorrect use of power.

I'm not talking old pyramid head level of cancel, just a slight stop so I don't fly 20 feet away cause I messed up a rush. Good Idea for the swing to cancel tho I didn't think about that

Seems like you are one of the persons who need Bloodlust to actually get something done. Then its simply: git gud. Seriously, either there are Tiles where you should not bloodlust anyway and just break the Pallet (like Jungle Gyms, Long Walls, Shack) or there are Tiles where you dont need to break the Pallet immediatly and this is were Bloodlust becomes unfair since Tiles where you dont need to break the Pallet immediatly (aka unsafe Tiles) are completely fair for both sides, but become unfair once Bloodlust kicks in.

And if a Survivor runs you around on those Tiles, they are better than you.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1798124#Comment_1798124

Breakable Walls are just a weak argument to keep Bloodlust. If you keep a breakable Wall at a strong Loop and vault the Window the whole time instead of just breaking the Wall, you have bigger problems than the removal of Bloodlust.

My main problem Is breakable walls. I don't *personally* need bloodlust, since I'm rank 5 and know what I'm doing to break the wall or abandon chase.

My argument is about the principal. They made bloodlust a thing because of infinites and hard loops, and they talk of getting rid of bloodlust, while simultaneously creating more infinites that waste time

  • @Speeddemonsaif said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1798060#Comment_1798060

Dude I didn't say a thing about breakable walls what're you on about.

When do people need bloodlust, infinites. How are the devs making infinites? Breakable walls. They are talking about removing bloodlust when they are making infinites.

Long story short I agree with you.

  • @Speeddemonsaif said:

Killer main here and here are reasons why getting rid of bloodlust will completely ruin the game. 1. Survivors will be op every loop will be a damned infinite. 2. Most people will facecamp amd tunnel it's the only way they can afford to get people to get close. 3. The last reason is survivor wait times will take over 30 minutes-1 hour as nobody will play killer. (Also if they ever remove bloodlust i can see Play With Your Food become a meta perk to regain your lost bloodlust with pwyf stacks.)

It would help if the devs stopped intentionally making infinites with the breakable walls.

Yeah just break the wall but that's time that all four survivors can be on a gen. And If you do it mid chase the surv gets so much distance

  • @tactic said:

yeahh as a killer main, Freddy is far too easy for how well he can perform, and his kit is far too bloated.

he’s boring to play against because his power is inevitable and slows the game down, not survivors “refusing to do gens”

Of you don't have slowdown game goes too fast. There's a reason I main freddy

  • While their at it they should take a look at the Game maps bottom floor

  • @Boddy604 said:

When I started playing him, I realized quickly that I'm conditioned to aim for the head from years of fps games.

Soon as i started actively aiming for body shots, my accuracy went way up.

Maybe that's why my shots are going so high. Too much COD zombies.

Me and my brother used to have a competition on transit for BO2 to see who could get the most headshots. Was always close as hell.

Good idea for the body shots though, I'll take that into consideration

I love Teen Wolf dont get me wrong lol all I'm saying is the more behind these iconic characters tropes is bigger than most movie references, barring the iconic pop references that I referenced.

One of my favorite werewolf movies is Cursed, but the more dictates the rules of the movie versus the movie writing new lore.

The original Night of the Living Dead changed how zombies were viewed, which were more like voodoo zombies and golems up until then. Now that movie redefined the definition of zombies.

A zombie killer would be cool. Kinda like a slower killer normally, say huntress supper, or maybe slower, but with built in tracking and the ability to go really fast once he/she sees a survivor.

I've always wanted a werewolf type killer in this game. I can see Onis power being close to what you could do with a werewolf. Gain up power as a human then BOOM a quick lethal werewolf.

You just have to make sure you put on a Game, Midwich, Hawkins, or Léry's offering when you run a hex build LMAO

I'm a totem cleansing FIEND and I still have trouble finding totems on all four of those maps

Sucks the game has so many hex perks but only 4 maps that actually hide them.

  • @CheyeneKL said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1784232#Comment_1784232

The Third Seal ABSOLUTELY should be a hex perk. It would be incredibly, INCREDIBLY busted as a non hex perk. (And absolutely miserable to play against in solo queue) The only way I could see it becoming a non hex perk is if it got a time limited blindness affect after each hit (sort of like some killer's add ons with blindness affects) because being blind the whole match is just not workable for how DBD is designed LOL

Thats what I was thinking. Get blindness for 30/40/60 seconds.

If I'm being honest I just hate hex perks, cause unless youre wasting a perk slot with undying they get cleansed almost immediately because of dbds shite totem spots

  • Id like to see a Shinugami (dont know if I spelled that right) killer from death note. Gonna work on that chapter idea next. I just finsihed my Slenderman (Marble Hornets) chapter idea. It is difficult to try and come up with new powers and perks for killers lmao. I like your ideas, dont know about the whole superhero aspect for my hero acedamia though. Like I said I think anime/manga like DoroHeDoro or Death Note will work amazingly though

  • This game has reminded me why I ######### hate people and stay home and do nothing but play video games

At least Friday the 13th had bots

@TheClownIsKing How about Monstrous Shrine, Zhanshin Tatcis, Cruel Limits, Overwhelming Pressence, Hex: Blood Favour, Hex: Third Seal, Predator, Bloodhunt, Remember Me, Beast of Prey, Unrelenting, Fire Up?

I love fire up and remember me has been clutch sometimes. And third seal can really screw a team. Except it's a hex. Things like blood favor and third seal I don't think should be hexes, and monstrous shrine should work on ALL hooks, but added benefit to the basement. All the other ones you mentioned, yeah useless

What stretched res survivors see as I'm coming for them

  • Isn't that what his lullaby is? Just a la la lala la la la instead of the lyrics

  • I want all killers to say Heeeres Johnny! When they break down a wall. Even Mikey. He will suddenly find his voice purely to make a movie reference.

    Frick continuity

  • Might be people doing dailys. There is a couple involving moris so I wouldn't be shocked if you just had the bad luck to go against 3 in a row

Playing Jet Set Willy on ZX Spectrum that game when you had gotten so far and dying :/ Once I did hurt my hand by slaming it into the wall. But when NES came I felt more relaxed and since then I don't really care that much, it's just a game is my motto 😀

But seriously, yeah that's a good mindset

  • When I first started playing both Bubba and Demo. Demo not as much.

When I first started with bubba I got lerys 5 times(I'm not exaggerating) 5 times in a row. The fifth time I got lerys I throw my headphones and dcd.

Other games, well let's just say I am notorious for raging at games

  • I actually really like this idea. I give props to people all the time cause it makes me feel good, but I don't think they even know they got props. This would be an awesome way to bring more good to the community. There could be an endgame tab like after the emblem screen that's like a prop screen.

Are they actually going to fix his fov? and is blight a decent killer that has good map control?

They are going to fix it I'm pretty sure. From what I've seen and faced he can get around the map really frickin quick. You just gotta worry about the whole what angles you can bump into things. Both scott jund and Tru3Talent have a lot of videos on blight that you should watch

  • I mean huntress can do the same thing. You run to the window she lifts her hatchet, if you vault she hits you and if you don't vault, she cancels and m1s you, but no one's complaining about her. Yeah PH is easier to use and I bit more foolproof but the last nerf did nerf him. I play aot of pyramid head and I was not a fan of the change

Also, I try not to go to the whataboutism to much(even though I just did with huntress but she's a really good example so...) But what about god pallets and infinites. I play both surv and killer and I know when I get to an infinite or God pallet, I can drop it or keep running and the killer can't do anything about it, lose lose situation. All PH is is an answer/counter to these. You can drop a God pallet, but he can still hit you through it. People don't like that, I see why, but with the metas in place and game design, he's needed to be that strong or else he's just a pushover. And I swear if they find a way to make ######### pyramid head pushover I'm gonna be mad.

  • Everytime I see him I get so many references in my mind I can't focus lol

Everything from It's high noon to get over here. I can't help but laugh.

Balance wise he seems fine. I can dodge his shots well but if I make a mistake he really takes advantage of that. But it's the same the other way around.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1781464#Comment_1781464

He is really good and balanced, only thing bothering is the fov which should be fixed some day, maybe next year

Maybe at the nine year anniversary lol.

But seriously I think they are going to fix his camera soon so I'm exited for that. The main reason I haven't got him yet was cause of the pov

  • In my opinion the doc is the most annoying. I main killer and doc is in my top 5, but playing surv makes me realize why people hate me for it.

The funnest in my opinion is Demo. Idk why but when I hear that loud demodog I get real exited
