  • I'm tried of the bad attitude everyone else has in this game. It seems like thousands of players wear a blind fold for the 1--15 games that are good and somehow only notice the one bad game and then cry they only have bad games.

    |Loads of people complaining that games are super hard at high MMR (That they can only presume they have) yet at the same time complain they always loose.... however THAT works.

Not to mention you see about 1000 people saying the community is toxic a month but only see 0 to 1 people per month *actually being* toxic. The only bad thing about this community is how mindbogglingly pessimistic it is. Its like Eeyore fell into a cloning machine.

  • ....WHY DO PEOPLE CARE WHAT THEIR MMR IS!?

How is a higher MMR a 'reward'? This is baffling to me. What makes raising this invisible score so important? MMR is only used for a match making algorithm that doesn't even work! So who care how its calculated.

Even if it was a perfect indication of skill and matched people as perfectly as it could there are not enough people on the killer side of the que for it to matter.

MMR had a 0% effect on the game. You are tricking yourselves into playing differently because you are afraid of losing an invisible score... If they removed it no one would even notice because it doesn't do anything. Hell they may as well have never added it. Maybe they never did add any MMR system and just told us they did and its all in our heads.

  • It has been much longer than 24 hours, I still have not received shards. Why is this a manual process? I've submitted a ticket 20 hours ago.

  • Another person with glitched MMR that apparently does not go down when you loose?

MMR only has an effect when its extremely high, so yours must have some glitch where it doesn't go down...

  • I've not gotten my shards yet. I've put in a support ticket but no responce. Any reason why this was done manually and not with a script or something that could just check the database for everyone who played him before a certain date?

  • I don't understand why maintaining an invisible MMR is is important to other killer mains. I just play, if I get a 4k I get a 4k, if I get a 0k I get a 0k.

I'm going to play to the best of my ability, which means I will never camp. Camping at the end game may guarantee a 1k but if I leave the hook there is a small chance at a 2k, Ima go for that.

MORE OVER the killers job is infact NOT to simply kill, the killer's 'job' is to feed the Entity. This is why a 4k is not always a 'Merciless Killer' game. You are allowed the luxury of enjoying your role but your only 'job' is providing sustenance for the Entity. Pleasing your master.

  • If matches were automatically recorded, that would solve things. For one it would just BE a cool feature, if a crazy play happened you could save the replay, and if you suspected there was a cheater and reported them you could watch back the game from their perspective. See iff they used a perk the didn't have, see if they flew ect.

Match replays. Cool feature even if there was no hacking. Huge inconvenience to hacking.

If Dead by Daylight had this, hackers would be forced to be extremely subtle to not be caught.

  • Nemesis is fun as heck to go against imo. His power doesn't make him 'unloopable' just very very strong at pallets and the zombies are random fun!

Now this is from the perspective of a killer main who rarely plays survivor.

Anyway I don't have the effing PATIENCE to DC in this game. Especically after waiting an agonozing survivor que time, not to mention it will be about another miniute or two before you're actully in the game, then HOW are you going to play for a few minutes.... only to DC get 0BP and double de-pip so its that much harder to get a bp reword on the 13'th and now you have to wait 5 minutes only to be allowed to wait even longer in the que again and before you know it you've been playing 30 or 40 minutes with not a single BP to show for it!

  • Spirit. And with her I will have every killer.

  • Reminds me of the older days of the internet. I enjoy a good forum. There's a certain 'Forum culture' that chats like Discord just can't replicate.

Oh trust me I am counting all and it's either I lose due to bullshit or I win and someone bitches about how I did it so again its that cycle of why bother when it comes to people who play killer. If you lose you feel like ######### and thanks to the bloodweb system you can't really bounce back and if you win you are told you're ######### by toddler minded survivors.

I get salt less than 1 in 50 games. Now if I were a new player I could say maybe I just got lucky... but being half way into devotion 2, with over 700 hours, there is no way I'm THAT lucky.

So the only thing I can figure is everyone else over exaggerates... that or I REALLY need to ######### play the lottery because my luck is god like.

Because it's not "Oh I lost because I need more practice" instead it's more "great another game where I lost due to op perks, rng and broken balancing" not to mention it seems more and more survivors devolve into acting like toddlers when they play and it's kinda hard not to get pissed off after the 5th to 10th time.

You say 5'th or 10'th but I feel like you mean 4 games where it does not happen, then 1 where it does... then 3 games where it doesn't happen and 1 where it does ect....

The trick is to *Count every game* not just the bad ones!

  • Facing phobias in a game with a strong horror theme? Huh.

  • I must be the most blind person on the planet. I just dont understand the killer stress. Its a game... so what if I loose some times. Oh well, que times are instant I can literally be in the next game by the time you're still sulking XD

  • I promis you you don't go against a swf every game. There is no 'kind' way of saying this: You probably are just not as skilled as you think you are.

OR You're over exagerating, and not remembering the easier games.

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

It's absolutely miserable as a solo survivor. You get killers with two slow down perks, and all three teammates not doing anything but running around for envelopes. Great job.

They spend the whole game doing a very quick 1 time thing?

Well far be it for me to call you a liar!!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/307163/why-are-killers-so-desperate

BHVR has pushed the game into this position. The absolute most efficient way to gain MMR and hold it is to camp and tunnel early. With all the new changes and the sweatier matches, camping and tunneling became efficient.

Add the new Boil Over bully builds and you have more reasons to not risk letting someone off the hook.

I hate it, and can't stomach playing killer much anymore, but that is where we are.

Why would you want to hold MMR? You can't see your rating and there is no reward for doing so.

More over it doesn't even matter as matches are just as random as they ever were.

Ok well some people enjoy stress I have a few of those at work, they can run around like crazy all day and say they feel no stress at all. Don't know if age has anything to do with it I'm 12 years older than you are 😀 But I quit killer mostly because I felt it was too stressful. The games where I camped the basement while enjoying a whisky after work was pretty ok though..

It must be my positivity bias.

See most people will have a bad time if they have 1 bad game to 9 good games. This is a trait from the survival side of our brain but is a severe handicap when it comes to recreation.

I lack this handicap. Additionally my strong possitivity bias allows me to count a game as a possitive even if only one little thing goes right. Like I complete a tomb challenge but it was a 0k? Whatever. It was a good game!

  • Match making is 100% random. You maaaaybe have a higher chance to get weaker survivors at lower MMR... but it would have to be exceptionally low or exceptionally high to have consistency. I've had times where after 3 games of 4ks, thats 12 kills... so my MMR should be a fair amount higher... but the 4'th game I get a team of babies who all clearly have less than 100 hours...

and vice versa, I've been on a loosing streak and its given me teams that are clearly on a higher level of play XD

MMR does nothing at this time XD

  • @DBD78 said:

Never become a killer main, the number of threads with complaints we would see from you would be impossible to even count. Be happy there are still killers left in this game I don't know how they cope.

As a 700 hour killer main, I don't understand whats so stressful about killer. I mean its a player vs player focused game so some times you will be dunked on, sometimes you do the dunking. And some times you have a close match where you take a lot of hook states but you have to fight for each one!

GRANTED I am 32 years old so that may effect my outlook. I also have a very strong positivity bias where the average person has a mild to strong negitivity bias.

  • Camping at 1 hook is a horrible stradigey, you should have banged out gens as fast as possible and let her have the 1/0k

for the demo you should have crawled the other wat to look for hatch, that was a risky play, they should have just hooked you.

  • I useally spam adept attempts until I have a lot of perks on a killer. But yeah always just go for it, the wosrt that can happen is you loose. Big whoop, there is no penalty for doing so.

  • Very rarely and on a whim. Usually if I feel like someone died to something that was kinda BS or if they had a horrible team like DCs and AFK players. But 1 afk player or 1 dc doesn't guarantee it. Largly depends on my mood and how they played.

Heh I recall one game where the same survivor who earned a 'hook on the back basment hook and smack on hook' from me, I also carried to hatch at the end XD

  • Snowmen also let you farm extra STBFL stacks so be warry~

  • I find when I equip lightborn people just... keep ... trying to blind... like 5 hooks and 2 gens in people still be trying to blind me...

  • I think it should take longer to light them each time they're snuffed. Say 4 seconds or so longer each time. So 16 seconds to light it, if the killer snuffs it out, it should take you 20 seconds to light it again. If they snuff it again it should take you 24 seconds to light it a third time. and so on.

They're Proud Boys using it to intimidate PoC and terrorize the community. It's unbelievable that BHVR hasn't put a stop to it yet and removed the cosmetic altogether because of how problematic it is

Pretty sure Buba isn't raciest. (#nolivesmatter) Its just a novelty, the four origanal survivors have Buba faces. Claudette is one of them.

  • @Adjatha said:

Nope. I was getting 0ks one after another and was just as likely to go against a team with 3 BNP Toolboxes as one with green perks.

This too. MMR gave us a super good Plague who wiped us all at 4 gens the literally game after a Billy who had to have just installed the game that day XD But my Survivor ranking is likely way lower than my killer

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

Yeah some people can't stand "losing" , so they may play in the most unfun way for both sides tbh. For example camping right of the bat is not fun for anyone, unless it's an insidious bubba 😂.

Indeed. I'm thinking perhaps people are doing this, getting 3/4ks in games they should be getting 1/2ks in so MMR thinks they must be really good so it gives them really god survivors who proceed to curb stomp the killer.

  • "People feel that the game promotes and pushes them to play mercilessly"

There is literally no penalty for loosing. Thats all in their head.

A casual level of effort, meaning not your best? I think you confuse the concerns of most people. To use your metaphor: You state don't use a shovel, but advise people to use their hands... not the other way around.

They are fed up with having to use the most effective strats, perks and methods to stand a chance. They want to be able to not camp for a second stage, not use DS, UB, DH meta each game... those are your shovels, the best tools in the shed. Yet if you do you either have to lose or outclass your opponent by a long shot.

A casual level effort in this game means, play to lose once you reach a certain level, there is a level of sweat required. You state just play and lose enough till you are a smurf, which frankly is not a good thing either. You don't want to face people of equal skill, you want to be able to dig with your hands while everyone around you is trying to grasp a shovel. Just because you don't like facing those that can wield it, you aren't trying to win... you are trying to smurf.

If you cannot grasp that people play to win in games or move on? I don't know what to say, most people want to learn to be better and have an achievable challenge to face.

They are fed up with having to use the most effective strats, perks and methods to stand a chance.

    people play to win

    Pick one.

You don't HAVE to use meta perks and strats and killers. And if you loose so what? Play until you have a fair challenge for using more fun perks. Loose with a low teir killer until that killer is facing a fair challange. If you want to play a ighly opressive killer like Nurse, Spirit or Blight then yeah it should give you people who can deal with that. If you want to play a 'weaker' killer just do it. It you want to run off-meta builds just do it. Litterally worst thing that can happen is you're put against lower skilled players where in you have a fair chance with the weaker setup.

You can't have 'Try your hardest to win every game' and get mad at what that en-tells. If you want to sweat, sweat. This is more for the people who I see in droves complain they just want to play causally. My advice: If you want to play casually just play casually.

  • BBQ. I would not say I 'hate' running it because I'm capable of granularity in my emotions, but imo BBQ is only concidered 'meta' for the BP it offers because its strength as a tracking perk is... mediocore at best and situational/ not useful at worst.

  • @SweetTerror said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2666090#Comment_2666090

Yeah I've noticed just the opposite when I play survivor. I do play far more survivor than I do killer, and I've certainly noticed a big difference in the amount of skill. The amount of killers that are either just starting out or that play the game casually has increased exponentially. Higher skilled survivors still stick around because they're playing with their friends, but higher skilled Killers have all but abandoned this game, and casual lower skilled players like myself are paying the price.

It's hard to "git gud" when you're lucky to get more than one hook in an entire match.

And if you only get 1 hook, your MMR goes down and you're more likely to be put against lower skilled surviors... is there like some bug where MMR just doesn't go down?

  • Wait... you said you have a high ranking and a very low ranking in the same paragraph...

Anyway just play casually. If you loose oh well, you just get a lower MMR. Just loose until your not against sweat squads.

  • @Kalinikta said:

What is the reason you play if you are not going to try? When I play a game, I want to try and win, do my best and stand a chance. If I lose, I lose... but the moment I stop caring, is the moment I move on to the next game.

What use is it to not try, to just throw in the towel... where is the fun in that.

I'm sorry I've confused you. Reading my post more carfully I never said 'loose on purpose' I just said 'don't sweat'

You did not see this string of text on the second line of the post: "Just play with a casual level of effort"

If you play full steam, max effort thats yourr coice but its a bit silly to do say and then say you're tired of doing so. Its like your digging with your hands saying 'Gosh I hate that my hands get dirty every time I dig' just... don't use your hands, use a shovel.

If you're tired of sweating just don't. If you want to play casually just play casually. If you want to push for the 4k every game as if anything at all depends on it, thats fine to! But if you don't want to just don't. I fail to understand how this isn't just in player's heads.

  • This is why I run forced penance on chase heavy M1 killers.

  • Meg because her starting perks helped me avoid chases.

Trapper because his power is simple to understand and use with at least some amount of effectiveness. Really imo a good choice for a first killer a you learn macro game sense playing him.

Pretty sure there is, been playing since 2017 and the toxicity between the sides has only gotten worse.

Yeah, thats the over-exageration people push. IDK what make people want to keep saying this untrue statement.

  • a Little Shop of Horrors chapter would make me sequel like a school girl.

    Seymour Krelborn- Survivor

    Skidrow- Realm

    Audrey II- Killer.

  • There isn't. That's just a false narrative because complaining is 'fun'.

People simply like to way way way over exagerate any small negitve thing to try and trick others into thinking its more than it is. I'm sorry you were given this false information.

  • Tyoically in the extreemly rare (Like 1 in 50 games) that survivor are toxic I just play as normal and inevitably I simply punish their arrogance. Predictable is the last thing you want to be in this game and playing in a toxic manner is predictable and therefore punishable. You can bait out certain actions and immediately respond accordingly.

Like if 1 dude is constantly buzzing around you with a flash light? Well thats 1 guy not on gens so you chase anyone else you're already pressuring half the team.

  • As for myself I wont go out of my way to tunnel or camp but a lot of that imo is the survivor's responsibility. As a team its your responsibility to pull aggro, or use BT or be ready with a flashlight save.

I rarely give mercy to a survivor unless they really got cucked. Like I can tell they're a very new player or a team mate DCed very early or team mates went afk ect.

  • I wonder what I'm doing to almost never get BMing in my games or EGC. Seriously I go 30, 40+ games in a row with no BMing and no one being rude in EGC.

If I ever figure out what I'm doing to almost never run into these toxic players- that apparently for everyone but me are super common- I'll let everyone know.

  • If you want to post on a forum thats a 24/7 #########-posting spam fest there are spaces online for that.

Checked his stream on my phone (with a huge delay) and saw him talking ######### about how toxic i was and reported me lmao

A majority? So you can with resonable certainly account for at least 51% of TTV's? Please provide a list with evidence for each name and the math used to confirm you can account for the actions of 51% or more of TTVs
