I wonder if the devs actually implemented a checkbox to avoid certain things, but hid it somewhere deep down the options menu. How long would the community take to find it?!

I still don't get this tbh lol. It's almost universally agreed that blight is pretty much perfect. Yet a lot of people hate nurse. While anymore. I'm not entirely sure that blight isn't actually better then nurse now.
Maybe it's just my skill level with blight at this point. But my nurse is just about equally as rediculous. Yet I feel like if survivors actually know how to play against nurse. There's more they can do against my nurse. Then they can against my blight
Not to mention basekit blight doesn't suffer much from no add ons. Whereas nurse basekit traversal is absymal. Add ons to add ons. Blights add ons make him just about as equally strong as nurse and easier to use
Nurse is overrated. The biggest issue is, that people hear her and instantly disconnect or run towards her, to get downed.
If they would spend some time playing against and especially as her. Then they would learn about her dead angles and how to run her.
Same goes for blight. Doing something unexpected will totally take blight mains off guard and give you precious time.
Which I personally find a lot of fun. Finding out how to outmaneuver the killer instead of just running in circles or holding W is what keeps the game entertaining for me.

I'll believe they're all patched when I see it.
No one is more adept at bug hunting than Blight mains.
That's what I call motivation.
Devs should really work closely with the community. They'd find more bugs and get a overall better balancing.
-
Isn´t this thread a bit early? We´re still going with the "nerf Nurse" threads. The "nerf Blight" threads aren´t supposed to appear until Nurse has been nuked.
Anyway, on regard of the thread... Since all techs have been solved/patched. I think Blight is in a good spot. With the exception of him not bumping off all surfaces like he should and instead sliding into the nirvana. Once (if) they solve that, he´s perfect.
-
Do you think that how the Nurse is designed currently is healthy for gameplay?
Survivors said for years, that they want mindgame gameplay. Shes the personification of that. So yes, she´s healthy.
Do you think that how the Nurse is designed currently is adversely affecting perk balancing, map/loop design decisions and holding back weaker M1 killers or even killers in general from buffs/attention that would let them even come close to competing with the Nurse?
Why would she hold back other killers? Kill rates are calculated for each killer serarately and the devs themselves said, that the kill rates are below expectations. Killers should generally be buffed. But thats a whole different can of worms.
And why should I be playing any other killer then Nurse due to the way she is so differently designed to other killers?
Play the killer you are more comfortable with and have the most fun with. After all, YOU are the one who is responsible for your own fun.

Even worse than Hoarder?
I run Hoarder with Franklin's as Christmas Clown.
-
Most enjoyable: Nurse, Myers and Nemesis.
Least enjoyable: Trapper, Wraith and Hag.
-
Because they think that they'll achieve a nurse nerf if they just disconnect often enough against her.
Just like what happened to Freddy, who was nerfed a week after release, due to the amount of disconnects.
-
Can this be locked as answer to the whole thread, pls?
But I guess asking for a nerf is easier...

Thing is, I can't imagine the license holders would say "We'll let you make this outfit, but you can only sell it for x weeks!" or "We'll give you the rights to this outfit, but only for a month, then we're pulling it." That's 100% BHVR's purview with the designs it's purchased. So while I'd agree if it truly was all or nothing... I cannot believe that that's actually the case.
It's called artificial scarcity.

What is the Endurance meta? I Googled it and can't find anything on it.
On the PTB. Survivors can use OtR, DH and MoM to gain 4 health states.

Off the Record and the new Endurance meta say otherwise.

Thats true. Most people are selfish and don´t think of the others.

Tournaments lol.
When are y'all gonna realize that every player in the world isn't a tournament (can't even say it without laughing, sorry.) player.
So let me guess. That top tournament Nurse player was going against 4 other tournament survivors who were running full meta builds and were on comms? Right, right.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3036406#Comment_3036406
If not for a couple of Blight's add-ons. He is actually one of the more fun killers to go against ngl. He's actually interactive in a way that can be fun.
Tournaments are highly restricted. No double loadouts.
So what is it now? Either you argue that top nurses are OP and need to be nerfed. But then you also have to take top survivors into account.
Or you take into account that not every player is playing on tournament level, which includes nurse, which, as already said, has the lowst kill rate.

Meh, I think Blight is fine when compared to Nurse, a killer who can ignore the majority of DBD's game mechanics. Blight is a killer you can actually counter with something other than "be unpredictable".
While you think he´s fine now. Just wait until they actually nerf nurse. The threads will instantly shift.
Just look how Legion was considered OP after their rework. No one would argue now, that Legion is OP.
-
You realize that the top Nurse players during tournaments barely get a 2k with NOED and camping against top survivor squads. Do you?
-

Okay, but none of this changes the fact she's still busted lol. 3120 hours in DBD I feel like I've learned every "counter" to nurse. Lemme guess "Be unpredictable, double-back, break line of sight, use bloodeh ded 'ard!" Absolutely none of these things matter against a good nurse lol.
But how many good nurses are really out there? She has the lowest kill rate of all killers for a reason.
-
Thank you so much for doing the math on this!
The last time I tried to argue how this won't be a reduction, I died fighting alone on that hill.

Improve? Nurse ignores every mechanic in the game there's only so much you can do.
If survivors spend a fraction of the time that nurse players use to become "unbeatable", to learn how to play against nurse. Then no one would see her as a problem.
Instead I get teammates that instantly disconnect or suicide against her.
-
@JudithMorel said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3036271#Comment_3036271
See a trend here? Nurse OBVIOUSLY needs a rework, and so does Blight.
You view it as hostility towards you and your fellow killer mains. But in reality there are legit reasons behind why theres so many threads about these 2 killers.
The only trend I see is, that my fellow survivor mains don't want to improve.
-
@JudithMorel said:

Slightly below the Nurse MMR is the Blight/Blight/Blight/Nurse/Nurse/Blight MMR.
So Blight matches only. Can´t be long until all the "Nurse OP" threads turn into "Blight OP" threads.
-
@RisingTron said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3036173#Comment_3036173
That's the thing, there's no way in hell my MMR is high enough to encounter nurse this often because I constantly throw games to meme around lol.
But what if you really reached the soft cap?
-
So you've reached the mmr rating, where you only encounter nurse.
What exactly do you expect to encounter, if nurse gets actually nerfed? Just asking.
-
Not at all.
-
It won't solve the gen rush issue. Especially after the meta slowdown perks have been nuked.

I enjoy solo queue as well. I do play more with some form of a SWF, but I never have a problem with solo games -- some go great, some not so much, but there's more good than bad.
Had one of those moments just a day or two ago -- managed to coordinate a rescue with two other randoms, not on comms with them, to save a hooked survivor being camped by a Huntress during Endgame. Very satisfying and well-played by everyone, including the killer, and a fun match all around. This is more common for me, at least, than not.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/R714IBOU1NYS/soloqueue.png
That really is satisfying! Pulling something off, without coms and see how everyone works as a team.
-
Don´t worry. NOED gets nerfed with the next patch. Then you can focus on cleansing only that one totem that lights up when you are within 24 meters of it.
-
To be honest. It kinda felt weird. When I saw him with the thick winter clothing and the beanie.
While I sat in front of the pc in shorts and sweating.

Yes, without a doubt. Sometimes the teammates are beyond bad.
But that just makes the moments when a team of randoms totally kicks it off even more epic.

Maybe I'll release all the screenshots I made during the event. To show that solo queue isn't as bad as everyone claims.

Again, Ruin is useless but Pop is still ok, it’s just weaker. Corrupt is probably also still ok on killers that do early game setup and hit and run early game. And every other single slowdown perk is buffed or the same.
All that’s going to happen is killers are going to swap around the slowdown perks they use if they even still feel the slowdown is needed after the 10 second increase in gen speeds. There’s not exactly a shortage of slowdown perks outside the couple that got nerfed.
Pop is much weaker. Unless the gen is at 99%, the killer will lose more time going for that kick than what the actual kick gives in regression.
Killers will still stack slowdown perks. Only different ones.
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3031679#Comment_3031679
But they didn’t “nuke the slowdown”. They nuked Ruin, they somewhat nerfed Pop, and they somewhat nerfed Corrupt. But Pain Resonance actually regresses more than before (it’s 15% of 90 seconds instead of 80) and all the other slowdown perks are either unchanged or buffed, including a really big buff to Overcharge.
Somewhat?
Ruin is useless now.
Corrupt is useless now.
Pop is useless now.

@dugman said:

The 10 second increase to base time is significant. How many times have you as a killer walked up to a gen and the survivors finished it as you approached? Every single one of those close calls now has up to 10 extra seconds on the clock.
I would agree IF the devs didn´t nuke the whole slowdown meta along with it.
-

I prefer survivors to have 2sec startup animation before making progress. Either Gen, Gate,Chest,Heal,Totem...
2.5% is a soft slowdown, but doesnt prevent Gen touch mid chase.
Yes, i totally agree. If the killer needs a full animation to start the regression. A survivor should also go through a full animation to stop it.

The gen damage per kick is minor but it does give a slight buff to all the perks that involve kicking gens. I’m certainly not complaining about it. 🙂
I´m not complaining about it. Its better than what we have now. But i really expected something... more from a patch that recognized gens as the primary killer issue.
-
@VikingDragonXii said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3031559#Comment_3031559
It does if Gen tappers want to keep tapping that 90% Gen over and over again and I kick it over and over again then it builds up. That Gen damage I think was a way to combat Gen tappers tbh
But in order to combat gen tapping, it would have to be slightly higher. As it is now, the kick reduces the gen progress by 2,25 seconds. With a kick animation of 1,8 seconds. So the killer gains 0,45 second of regression. But since the killers time is 4 times as valuable as the survivors, continualy and kicking it, is actually counterproductive. Since the other survivors do another gen in the mean time.
-
I guess we´ll have to wait how it all plays out in the PTB.
But the gen damage doesn´t do anything. Just saying.
-
You only need gold. But playing Legion helps.

It's been all screenshotted within 2 hours of playing.
I'm 2.2k hours myself, and I was playing on one of my main killers. I usually get absolute sweat lords, which I don't mind, I like challenge, but holy hell, I didn't get a single normal game today. Those people from screenshots sadly had to play games with me, but I did let them all go (Which I got a ton of toxic messages for, like??? I'm here getting nothing out of the game, so you guys won't get absolutely clapped).
After 2h of getting games like those, i just started dodging lobbies. And it didn't help at all, I'm still getting people under 100h.
It's not fun!
I thought maybe changing to my highest mmr main will help. NOPE, I get absolute potatoes. Like help, I want to loop with someone, I don't want to teach new players how soulcrushing some killers are.
I sometimes get it the other way around. Killer with 1-3 perks and 90 to 300 hours.
Not fun at all.
