It would be a terrible change.
Why? Because survivors can´t feel completely save by 99% the gate and do what they want anymore?
Isn´t that the whole point of changing the gates?

Having to use a perk slot for info that SWF gets for free. But you already know that's the issue, you just dont agree bc killer bias

Then whats the issue?

It does, at least those 2 guys saw proxy camper and just sit on Gen, instead of 1 or both of them leave their Gens - run for 15sec to the hook - another 10sec to realize its a proxy camper (with camper you can tell instantly) - run for 15sec to their Gen. For total of 40sec, which x2 survivors for total of 80sec Equally to 1 Gen done.
It will not fix the players who decides to do totem. But it does help with players who knows its a camper but without info from Kindred.
It he didnt have Kindred, it would be another story.
If the killer is proxy camping, then some decent survivors could have gotten him out.
Just saying.

Can't fix bad team mates but can save me a perk slot for something that could be basekit so I can run deliverance instead. Would have saved me a lot of times but no space in build.
Then just use deliverance instead of kindred?
Teammates will ignore it anyway.

Isn't killer: it's your teammates.
Just went against a Clown on Ormond with solo-queue team mates. Clown finds me first, and I loop him for quite some time, and three gens pop which is when he finally downs me. He camps me (not face camp, but proxy camped in the general area of the hook). I always run Kindred so my teammates could easily see what everyone else was doing, and frustratingly, two were sitting on gens and another was just walking around opening chests/cleansing totems. The final gens pop and they just leave me on the hook to die whilst they escape. After I was sacrificed I observed the match, and what annoyed me most was they were all tea bagging at the exit! All they did was sit on gens and open exit gates: not exactly the most taxing or skillful match, is it? In the end game chat they said they didn't save me as Clown was camping and it would've just been a hook-swap, which makes no sense as two of them had BT (one of which was running it with Guardian). Also, the killer wasn't face-camping, so a bit of team effort could've easily saved me off the hook.
Honestly, other than the occasional toxic/face camping killer, my teammates are often the ones to get each other killed, not the killer. 😂
This is one of the reasons, why i think basekit Kindred or a updated Hud wouldn´t do anything.
You can´t fix bad teammates.

It's the most weak attempt to defend camping by completely mutilating my point.
3 gens doesn't pop in 90 seconds if killer play with skill.
But yeah, your sentence can be saved with some adjustments: point is no matter how bad killer do camping/tunneling, good teams will pop gens anyway.
3 gens usually pop in the first 90 seconds in my survivor matches...
Killer usually doesn´t has the time to cross the whole map and get 2 hits against decent survivors, while the other 3 sit on gens.

Name 3 reason why I should play killer?? For real, to face high rank and skill survs??
I´m sorry, but the only way to guarantee you, that you won´t get tunneled off hook, would be to play killer yourself.

Lol! Love these suggestions. Never played killer. 5 gens pop in 1 second.
Ok, I played a killer. In fact, I played killer more than a thousand times, now what? The only reason I would think of camping is to sign under my incompetence, because camping and tunneling leads exactly to 3 gens pop in 90 seconds against good teams. Why would I do that?
Maybe its the point, that no matter what the killer does, 3 gens pop in the first 90 seconds.

Tunneling isn´t toxic.

Just switch to killer. You´ll soon find out why killers do that.
-
Soon another Bubba main will rise from the ashes.
-
The gates progress should completely reset to 0 once the survivor lets it go. Its the only fair way to deal with it.
To compensate it, they just need to buff Wake Up to allow the survivors to open the gate (much) faster.

Yes. Because we need to have it on live to see if Survivors will stack Second Chance Perks and if Killers will stack Slowdown-Perks.
We will only see if this happens if the Patch 6.1.0 goes live...
Survivors stacking second chance perks isn´t exactly something new. There will be a simple switch from DS to OTR and thats it.
Killers stacking slowdown perks? There isn´t much to stack anymore unless you count Call of Brine + Overcharge an efficient stack. One where the killer literally has to stay there, because every decent survivor will just interrupt it.
I say, let all hell lose. Remember that month with Boil Over? It was a hilarious mess. Survivors trying to abuse it and killers responding with slugging.
We need more things like that. That change the stale meta gameplay.
-
Can´t we just wait and see how things perform on live?
PTB has its advantages, but is in no way a real presentation of how people play.

Doesn´t happen often though.

That is like putting lipstick on a pig. Paying survivors extra BP to play at a miserable disadvantage is not really good balancing. I still don't think survivors will play.
I wouldn´t call the survivor experience miserable per se. Buuuut thats a whole different thread.
-
The upcoming changes in the PTB around bound to solve this by giving people a bloodpoint bonus for playing the role with the shorter queue.
So once that goes live, we probably won´t see this kind of thread anymore.

There was actually a Bug some time ago (I think it was January 2020) where the Achievements for Iridescent, etc. on both sides became unlocked for everyone.
So if someone has it unlocked at this point, they might have never actually reached Rank 1 on either side.
No, that wasn´t from the bug. Saw this achievement much earlier and he also didn´t had the other achievements unlocked at the same time (which happend during this bug).
He legit simply played killer without ever trying to kill. The kills were probably just survivors suiciding for whatever reason.

The devs said, and conveniently forgot to show graph stats for it? Kinda weird on how we always get graphs for every stats, we even had for most used perks, but we didnt get one showing that survivors had above 50% escape rate. Which I believe they do maybe, but die to solo q? No. Solo Q is already under 50%.
Source?
-
@Marigoria said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3043473#Comment_3043473
Solo Q players have an above 50% escape rate in your head yes
And in the real world... or did you miss the part where the devs said, that kill rates are below expectations. Which would be 50%?
-

So why is it bad for killer players to wait for buffs because "no killers would be left" but it is totally fine to make solo q unbearable?
How is solo queue unbearable, when solo survivors have a above 50% escape rate?!

Cute how you ignored the second part of such a small phrase, but i'll copy paste it here for you, "and then buff killers."
Didn't ignore it. But do you really think that there would still be a killer base left?
Let's crunch some numbers for the sake of the argument.
Kill rate is expected to be around 50%. Devs explaining that it's actually below expectations, means that it's probably somewhere around 40-45% (give or take a couple percent). So if SWF has a 15% higher escape rate and you want to bring solos to SWF levels. Then we'll end up with a kill rate around 25-30%.
Devs are cautious, when it's about interpreting data. So changes would take between 3 to 6 months before they go live.
Do you really think, killers would be motivated to stick around, if they get 1k for a prolonged period?
*disclaimer: the above numbers are a rough estimate and could actually be (much) lower or (slightly) higher. But have to be lower than 50%.

On the first point, cool I didn't know that. I still don't think it's comparable
As far as the second point, I hard disagree that it's easier to get WGLF stacks.
- you have to compete with other survivors so if someone else gets that unhook before you, no stack for you.
- Again, you have to go out of your way to take hits for someone else who is injured whereas BBQ stacks literally just come to you for playing the game. I can't recall a single recent game where I haven't been able to catch and hook everyone at least once.
- None of that negates the fact that with the BP bonus removed from both perks, one perk is still an A tier perk while the other is D tier at best
- sure thats why i recommend doing:
- going for a not so safe unhook, which ends with you getting downed = 3 stack. Of course, only once the match is almost over and the amount of possible unhooks/body blocks is greatly diminished.
- WGLF is the A tier and BBQ the D tier perk, right? Because that aura reading will become completely useless, since other perks do that much, much better.
-
@RakimSockem said:
I'm actually okay with it because I've been saying for years that survivors need an equivalent to BBQ's usefulness for year and while people liked to pretend WGLF was an equivalent, it never was even after they added new ways to get stacks. Let's look at the 2 perks:
BBQ: Literally only have to hook each person once to get all 4 stacks. On top of that, you get an aura read and can see where every survivor outside of 40 meters is located for 5 seconds which on the best killers, is all the time you need. Now unspoken on top of that, if you only see one aura, it's relatively safe to assume that the other two are hiding in lockers (not making progress) or they're close by which some killers can then use as an excuse to proxy camp
You take all that versus WGLF: Up until patch 4.3 (Perform a safe hook rescue or take a protection hit to gain stacks which meant you had to lose health states or be the first one to the hook FOUR separate time to get that 100% bonus) Eventually and very recently, they added in stunning or blinding the killer and gave it the secondary effect of healing a dying survivor faster.
When you look at the two perks side by side, they're not even comparable. On one hand you have a perk that you get naturally by just playing the game and doing what you're supposed to do (hook people) and you get aura reading and other info out of it. On the other side, you have a perk where you have to go out of your way to take hits for your bonus BP and that's all you get in return. It's a night and day difference on TOP of the fact that killers naturally earn more BP per game regardless of perks. So both of those perks can be gutted of their BP effect for all I care
Actually... no. You could gain WGLF stacks by blinding or pallet stun rescue teammates from the very release of the perk.
Most people simply were not aware of that. So the devs had to mention it, like its something new. But it wasn´t. The only thing that got buffed with 4.3 was the increased pick up speed. Nothing more.
On top of that, it was always much, much easier to get 4 WGLF stacks than 4 BBQ stacks. With BT, you could get 3 WGLF stacks in a single, not so safe unhook. Absolutely not comparable to getting BBQ stacks, which could even completely denied by a survivor who disconnected before the killer got the first hook.

That's why you buff solos to SWF level and then buff killers.
With kill rates already being below expectations, buffing solos to SWF levels first, seems like a great idea to get rid of a frustrated killer base.

This survivor action portraits looked good buffs for solo-q. It would not help SWFs because they are already sharing information with each other.
As I said, they probably weren't happy with the kill rates. Just imagine if solos had the same escape rates as SWF.
Killers would have to receive massive buffs.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3042833#Comment_3042833
It is shame to boost kill rates with solos.
They did not fix issues with SWF teams and maps.
Well, any buff to solos is unavoidable a buff to SWF. Which already has a 15% higher escape rate than solos.
Understandably, they don't want to punish people for playing with their friends.
So unless they find a way to give solos the same real time information as SWF on coms have...
-
Devs probably weren't happy with the kill rates. So until that gets fixed, solo buffs might be on the back burner.
-
They can't fix bad players. Solo queues biggest problem are people that don't want to improve and instantly disconnect/suicide when they face a killer/map/whatever they don't like.
Giving them more information won't solve this.
Take Kindred and watch how your teammates continue on gens, despite the killer chasing someone at the other end of the map or how they run towards a basement bubba whose aura vanished in the basement.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3041102#Comment_3041102
I didn't say it was better or worse.
I did. For me, the event was near perfect. The only thing devs could improve for future events is, that the event items have the same bloodweb id as the event offerings. Killers got 3-4 flans per bloodweb, while survivors got 1 flan and a couple of event items.
That needs to change to make it fair for everyone.
-
@Marigoria said:
Because survivors had to open the gates to get rewards.
