You have fun with that until you run into a killer who actually knows how to play and he absolutely annihilates your entire team.
Wanna know whats funny? Its more probable to run into teammates that give up from the beginning.

DH isn't even remotely the main problem, but let me tell you how DH works now, it doesn't have a movement dodge anymore, all it has is endurance and then you get slowed. So they replaced a thing that dodges with a thing that doesn't and then guarantees to get you downed. Which means they literally made it worthless, it has 0 value now.
Ok, I'll make sure to tell that my teammates that still get escapes with it.

I have never played a game where as many people are throwing games as what’s going on since this update. That’s both in my killer and survivor games. The entitlement is off the charts.
Yes, the entitlement is really off the charts. It's ridiculous.

normal? lol. like taking away everything a survivor can do to defend themselves and replace it with nothing? thats normal for who?
But it wasn't replaced with nothing. DH still works, but requires a better timing.

Some popular gen regression perks were nerfed while others...looking at you overcharge and baskit kick regression were buffed. Gen PROGRESSION has also been nerfed except in the case of overzealous.
Correct. But it's to early to come to a final conclusion about overall gen speed. Killers that used pop, corrupt and ruin might have gotten more overall gen time before the patch then what they get now with those perks. Despite the kick bonus and the additional gen time.
Biggest issue I see right now in my survivor matches is, that my teammates actively refuse to do the objective. Had a match where I completed a full gen solo, got 2 unhooks, 3 heals + a chase in the time it took the rest of the team to complete a single gen.
-
Doom post number 547936.
Where did this break the game? Queues haven't changed for both sides since before the patch.

It hasn't even been 2 days!
Just 29 hours since the patch dropped and everyone is claiming that this is the end.
Honestly, the biggest issue is, that people refuse to play normal. I've had teammates with crows over their head, exiting a locker to finally go for the rescue.
-
That my teammates suddenly have become more than terrible.
My last match. Start on the temple map, next to a chest. Decide to open it, at 90% i hear the killer come (Nemesus) so i stop and wait until hes gone. I finish the chest, take the med kit. Run for like 20-30 seconds to a gen. Start repairing it. Finish repairing right as the killer gets his first hook. I proceed to go for the unhook, completely heal. Get chased by the killer, a hit, 2 rounds around the shack before he breaks the chase. I heal myself with the medkit. Go to the other end of the map in search for a totem to bless. Bless it while the killer gets his second down. I go for the unhook but have to wait, because hes patroling. Get the unhook, survivor runs towards the totem to cleanse Plaything. I wait until its cleansed to heal the survivor completely. We then run both to a gen and start repairing it. At around 25% THE OTHER SURVIVORS COMPLETED THEIR FIRST GEN!
Survivors complain about gen time, like its a issue. The real issue is, that some survivors completely refuse to do the objective.
Oh and before i forget. They were all prestige 10. So not the matchmaking matching me with survivors that have 10 hours or something like that.

10 seconds added as base kit. Add Thana, Eruption, Call of Brine, and whatever else, you don't need more slowdown. I'm a professional baker, if a formula calls for 500 grams and 350 grams of water, but you add 12.5% more water than is called for, the bread will not have structure. Increasing gens by 12.5% does not nerf gens but buffs them by 12.5%. Dishonesty doesn't work when numbers are available.
I´m not a professional baker, but most gen regression perks were nerfed and nerfed hard with this patch. Pop, Corrup, Ruin, all gone.
Also Thana was buffed by a whooping 0,5% per stack. Tbh, i haven´t noticed the added 10 seconds of gen repair time in my survivor matches.
-
Stopped reading after "gen regression has been buffed"...
It was mainly nerfed.

It's not only that. I'm going against survivors who have no clue about the game at all. It's not even a question of being able to survive a chase.
Same for the solo queue. There always at least one player who is at the level of hiding from the killer who is coming to him from his back.
I manage to run the killer for a while (and I'm not very good to begin with so it tells you how good that killer is) and no gens are being done. When I'm hooked I see survivors crouching on the corners, playing with a noodle or something.
I feel like I'm playing against one killer and two or three survivors. (Okay, I had one game were there was only one beginner and we almost did it ... one game since yesterday.)
Maybe the bugged bloodpoint bonus also threw everyone into the same pot. Completely ignoring the mmr.

I'm seeing it more like the patch just shifted the window. Nobody got 'carried into an undeserving tier' - the tiers just changed. At least, you can't say that without also saying that lower skill killers are now the ones being 'boosted into a skill region they don't belong to'
MMR is relative. There's not some elite secret club or little league or anything structured like that (with the plausible exception of the soft cap, after which point you're in the Thunderdome). Talking about folks being in places they do/don't belong in adds this weird layer of elitism and judgment to people's performance in this game that I think is out of place for lack of any sort of structured acknowledgements on the game's part.
Its not about elitism. Thats why the mmr is hidden. Btw, the elitism will come back as long as people can see each others prestige rank.
If the objective was to prevent elitism: mission failed.

I don't really like talking about this in the context of what is and is not "deserved" or who "belongs" where - I believe what's happening is more mechanical and has less to do with players doing anything malicious or unfair. Framing it in that way just serves to kick sand at folks, I think.
Oh its not about deserving to be here and there. Its just that the perk carried people with a decent amount of skill to regions where a lot of skill is required. That backfires now.
-
Lets face it. DH carried survivors to skill regions where they don´t belong and now they face killers above their skill rating.
It will take some time, but once everyone reached the skill region where they belong to, it will even out.

Same, i was never a fan of exhaustion perks. Because they´re usually on cd when you need them the most.
But, i´ve seen some really skilled players that still use DH after the patch and still get their extra hit from it. So it really seems to be a pure skill issue now.

They give bps for survs because there are a lot less surv. But when a killer play as survivor this is 5 less survs you need in the game. This is the reason killer queue is instant. But they are also removing people for the game, and this is a very very bad decision
Yeah i think the bonus bloodpoint thing is kinda bugged. Should have switched to killer, when survivors had 5 minute queues.

If overcome wasn’t changed you wouldn’t find 1 surv to play against
You sure? Survivors had terrible long queues last night, while killer was instant.
-
@dictep said:
Survs use second chance perks and killers use gen regression perks. But second chance perks have been nerfed to the ground, and exhaustion also exists. Regression perks have been slightly nerfed or overbuffed, and you can use 4 of them together
Regression perks have been slightly nerfed or overbuffed?
Uhm... Ruin is gone, Corrupt is gone, Pop is gone, NOED is gone, and Overcharge wasn´t released as strong as it was on the PTB.

You have to agree that wraith one was awful tho.
I have mixed feelings on that match.
Yes, the David was a completely new player, who shouldn´t have been matched with us. Yes, the other survivor suicided for no reason at all.
Those things were awful. I totally agree.
BUT my chases with the GF, the mind games and surprise moments of seeing him stalk from a window, when i expected him somewhere else really made the match fun for me.

The one against GF was quite entertaining for me. I don´t need to escape to have a good time.

I'm getting 200k+ points per game.
Waiting 3 or 4 minutes isn't a problem for me to account for the MMR.
People shouldn't get bonus bloodpoints and long queues. It should be one or another.
Otherwise the whole bonus thing is pointless.

How do you "get used to" 5 seconds? 5 seconds is 5 seconds lol. How about we make it 1 second and maybe you can get used to it?
Simple. Yesterday I've seen face camping killers that instinctively hit freshly unhooked survivors and got the auto BT instead of a down.
Give it time.

You are a much better survivor than I am and you usually (always?) play solo if I recall. How were your survivor games if you played?
Honestly? I took a break and stopped completely playing since the end of the event. Only played 2 days together with @Marigoria
That being said, we got long queues and new players as teammates. Or players that actively sabotaged the game by staying under the hook or refusing to run away.
Yesterday we played 6 or 7 matches. Half of them were terrible due to the above mentioned behavior and the other ones were so hilariously funny (including a very skilled Steve, who escaped a face camping Bubba with a Kobe and a well timed DH), that I regret not recording them.
In conclusion: it's to early to say how the overall balance is.
-
@Sluzzy said:

The server should know how many are queuing. The matchmaking might be bugged but there is definitely a shortage of survivors as we know from the bonus award.
Or... and hear me out: it's the bonus that's bugged.
-
Could we, I don't know, let people get used to the new mechanics, times, changed perks, etc. Before we conclude that nothing changed?
Patch hasn't been out for 24 hours. Most people didn't change their loadouts. Give it some time.

Woops, yeah I got that backwards in my replies. Should probably get some sleep myself, but that is what I meant.
No problem. We've all been there.
-
The problem is a different one. Matchmaking matches veterans with new players. Which then get stomped, because they lack basic game knowledge.
Previously you could only assume how the others skill was after the match. But now you can see how often someone prestiged during the lobby.
For example, yesterday I had a couple of matches with p0 and p1 players. Which obviously didn't perform well.
So we'll probably start to see lobby dodging on teammates.
-
@JHondo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3072995#Comment_3072995
What I'm saying is, overall there's slightly less survivors. In Europe and here in the USA it's closer to the 4:1 where the ratio should be. It's possible someplace else it's a 2:1 survivor to killer ratio, so the bonus is being applied on the global scale instead of region by region.
Then the survivor queues would be actually faster then the killer queues.
The side with a surplus of players is the one with the longer queue.
-
@Marigoria said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3071349#Comment_3071349
My survivor queues were always short, now they aren't because of the incentives.
Even in crossplay off at night they're short.
It isnt enough for me who basically has everything maxed out.
I don't think all players jumped to survivor. Just because of that bonus bloodpoint sign.
It would have changed in between. Causing long killer queues. But it stayed like this for hours and still seems to display it.
I'll check tomorrow morning if it changes.
-
@Bartlaus said:

I'm currently playing at 10pm in Europe. My Survivor Q time is extremely long while getting killer lobbies instantly. Still, BHVR gives me 100% BP for playing Survivor 😂 That's why I don't know what Sluzzy wants to say with it. Sluzzy's actions are unfathomable.
I think it's a bug. Now when they fix it and killers get the bonus to alleviate survivor queues, how are people going to react? When all the survivors that threatened to quit, because of the DH nerf, see that killer is the underplayed role.
-
@AMOGUS said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3070884#Comment_3070884
I believe Sluzzy is trying to say, with this image, is that everyone is playing Killer while Survivor is dead.
Except, I believe the incentives are currently bugged because IME Killer queue times are 10 seconds while Survivor queue times are longer. Killers should be receiving that bonus, not Survivors.
Yes! Everything is reversed. It makes no sense.
Honestly I think it's to early to judge how the balancing is. It will probably take a few weeks until everything settles.
-
@Marigoria said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3070884#Comment_3070884
Means that killers don't need to have a boost in incentive to play right now.
Sadly, incentives only ruined queue times and matchmaking even more.
But it looks like the bonus is bugged and completely reversed.
If survivor was unplayable, then wouldn't survivors have the short queues?
If the double bloodpoints aren't enough to incentivize people playing that "miserable" role, then why do survivors have long queues?
-
I´m curious. Whats that screenshot supposed to mean? It doesn´t seem to have any correlation with what you wrote. Since queues don´t seem to be tied to the bonus points right now.
-
Yep, it looks like its bugged.

Even though it was never run at the same rate as BBQ, I imagine you'll see the same thing with WGLF. These were perks that I had baked into every build (unless I was doing a challenge or something) because I felt like I had to run them to combat the grind.
Of course WGLF also got a buff to offset the removal of the BP bonus, whereas BBQ received nothing in return.
Habits are hard to break, and I expect we won't see an immediately massive dropoff in the usage rate of some of these perks, as some people will need the reality of the changes to sink in before they abandon them.
Yep, i expect people asking about BBQ being bugged for the next 2-3 weeks.
