  • Have you considered to play killer instead?

Dc:s are exluded from kill rates but if survivors would just do gens then they would be lower instead giving up. Survivors usually throw when killer tunnel/camps even when there is 1 gen left to do. They try to save that one survivor so badly that they all go down. Then there are teammates who just find totems to cleanse whole match. I ran console 81 prestige blight today 3 minutes and only 2,5 gens got done because both claudettes where too busy to bless totems. Well we lost that game at 2 gens left as blight downed them like flies. I wish I would face survivors like them if I ever commit to someone that long all gens get done. Even once 4 gens got done just in one minute when I tunneled wrong person with otr, ds, dh and adrealine. She was only one not hooked twice in that game.

Thankfully the dcs are not included in the stats. But dcs and suicides are still running wild. I haven´t played a lot lately because of that. Way to many dcs and/or suicides. Sometimes the suiciding survivor even stays until the end of the match to complain about the killer. Makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah, if wish were horses. But do we have any evidence of that claim? To me killers have it better then they have had it for a while now.

What do you mean with evidence? Someone disconnecting or suiciding on the first down dooms the rest of the team. Is this even debatable?

Yesterday i had a match on the swamp against Blight. He tunneled hard but got his third hook (the kill) when we had 4 gens completed and my gen was at 30%. Next down instantly suicided on the first hook.

The match could have ended in a 2 or 3 man escape.

I don't think the solos will match SWFs but since the SWFs are likely to also benefit from it, well, maybe 15% is right.

Isn't the Nurse the weakest killer for the majority of players? Buffs soon? 😋

Joke aside, I'm eager to see updated statistics in, say, a month.

Joking aside, her rework reflected exactly that.

I´m curious how the stats were the week before the patch and well how they are in a month.

  • @Phantom_ said:

    It is a QoL improvement.

Both sides get to have aura-reading/info perks. Survivors knowing where a pallet/window is or whether it's dropped or not doesn't change all that much for a killer. It's already on the map, the average player usually knows where on a jungle gym/TL/4-wall/z-wall a window or pallet is going to be, if it's dropped or not, as a killer you'll have to deal with it regardless of them having that info.

Thats why Window of Opportunity is so popular.

    Information is key.

  • If people would stop disconnecting and suiciding, the kill rates would be lower.

    Much lower...

  • @drsoontm said:

If that stuff is accurate, any group with half a brain will be able to use that information thoroughly to know when to be ready for the doors, when getting the attention of the killer matters most, ...

In the hands of a team, it will be even more helpful because there is no need to synchronise info about gen progress anymore.

I expect the escape rate will raise quite a bit.

SWF escape rates were 15% higher. So kill rates should drop by well... 15%. Which means that the weaker killers with a sub 50% kill rate now will probably get a single kill per match.

I promise we aren't ignoring them! There was a tentative fix in the last update for some of their issues, but it doesn't seem to have caught all cases of the movement bug. We're looking into it further and will try to get another fix out as soon as we can.

Can we get a coop mode for Twins? It would suit them perfectly!

Nah,eruption is not ok but aura builds cmon...Like,,,it feels people hate slowdown stacking ( i'm one of them) but also aura builds that focus on gettin in chases asap, those builds i like because doin gens is boring AF ,chases is where the fun is at least for me

Both sides can use aura builds and they are fun!

Like last match i had to use Fogwise for the archives challenge and also slapped on Wiretap. Seeing where the killer was most of the time was a lot of fun.

It sounds like a hard thing to balance tbh. Imagine we’ll make it with unbreakable making hook trading insanely useful as it means the killer has to pick you up instead of slugging

That and coulophobia would become an absolutely ridiculous slugging perk

    True

  • To be honest, that was to be expected. Lets see how long the transition from useless teammates to "oh #########, the others see i don´t do anything, i better do something" takes.

Yay and nay. Some non-meta perks aren't even that bad but just unfavoured. Ruin getting nerfed just as a bunch of gen-kicking perks that it synergies poorly with was just bad timing, the perk is good just has very poor synergy with the current meta. Similarly lithe and overcome aren't exactly meta but in a game where most survivors run dh of course other exhaustion perks aren't seeing use. In a world where dh doesn't exist, I'm sure people would use more lithe and overcome and in a meta where killers want hex synergy or surveillance, ruin would be much more prevalent. These perks don't really need buff they just need to wait for the right meta and fill their niches in the meantime. Ruin is still good on killers like legion and overcome works well with lucky break, until the limelight comes I'm sure they're fine in their roles currently.

Furthermore, if a perk is a problem what does buffing do? Make a bigger problem that power creeps the old one? Not all perks that are meta are problems but if your solution to the ones that are/have problems is to make more I'm not sure that helps long term.

All hex perks need a rework/buff. The risk vs reward scale is completely off the chart and the advantages of the perks stand in no comparision to the risk of losing the perks in the first 30-60 seconds.

Overcome is actually a really good perk for new players that don´t know how to time a DH or don´t want to constantly walk around to prevent starting the exhaustion of SB. So while its not really used often, it has its place for new players and does a good job at that. Biggest problem it has, is that the target audience simply doesn´t know it exists.

We had a short period where Boil Over was op. Many killers complained (rightfully) about the perk. But it actually made other problems more obvious: how unbalanced or bad some map spots are. Things like the second floor of the library in the RPD map. Those things have been removed in later patches and i think it was also partly to how survivors used Boil Over on those spots. Strong perks can make game issues more visible and lead to a overall improved gameplay for both sides. Having a meta shake up every 3 months sounds great and could help the game with longevity. So power creeping doesn´t scare me, if its for the good of the game. Since perks can always be toned down.

But i like the idea that the devs get more daring with the reworks.

    - And? Are you implying that is rare for a survivor to be repairing a generator that has been kicked? The problem with eruption comes the fewer gens are where it is likely that all gens are kicked.

    - How is not CD a thing? I already wrote that you have 10 less sec of CD that one single succesful activation, meaning that you'll probably be never affected by Eruption's own CD while playing normally.

    - Not really, killers can just make a stand in an area with a built in 3-gen and kick gens as they are being repaired and only commiting to chase when all 3 are kicked. Remember Eruption does not deactivate even if the gen regresses to 0.

    - But for a potentially 40sec of regression the mere 2sec you are kicking the gen is a great trade off. Plus, if you are using the current meta builds you are probably also using Brine to know if that gen was touched and Nowhere to hide to reveal nearby survs, so the cost is really small compared to its pay off.

    - Means that not only Eruption is severely overtuned, it also synergises well with other strong current meta perks. This makes it the more frustrating to play against.

    - First, the first 3 gens are usually not affected by eruption, true. The problem comes with the last two that will be spammed over and over with this. (Remember 30sec CD).

Second, The decision of repairing another gen or "pay attention to your surroundings". Would you leave your 50% gen or 30%gen to regress to 0 because you dont want to be hit by Eruption just to start on another gen that you also dont know if it has been hit with eruption? (Remember Eruption does not deactivate even if gen reverts to 0).

And the killer is usually downing a survivor in line of sight is a fairy tale. Really. Being generous, Like 90% of chases you will never see the full extent of the chase while repairing. Indoor maps exist, walls exist, main builiding exists, rocks, trees. You are delusional to believe you can consistently see the chase while at the same time repairing an eruptioned gen.

    - killer protects gen A, B and C. Surv tries gen A, killer hits surv and kicks gen A, killer return to gen area and survs escapes injured. Another surv tries gen c, killer hits surv and kicks gen C, and so on. Whenever a surv overstays on a gen, the killer downs him and all 3 gens explodes.

    - what?

    • realistically. How often does a survivor get hit by eruption in a match. I don´t know about your matches, but i´ve never been hit more than twice.
    • still not an issue.
    • in that situation it could be considered that both sides (or none) keep the game hostage equally.
    • you trade information for a head start. In your example, the killer would take a quick look around and lose even more time to the head start. Have you considered taking Deja Vu?
    • frustation is subjective. People found Undying Ruin frustrating, when it was actually the least frustrating thing we had in a long time. You are only seeing the bad things about Eruption and refuse to see the advantages for survivors.
    • can be solved with Deja Vu. Like completely.
    • so the injured survivor goes back to the 3 gen area while the killer kicks all gens? Like... really?
    • unnerving and overwhelming presence are both perks that apply a debuff to survivors. Eruption isn´t the only debuff perk.

    They should.

From what do you deduce they're prettily intentional, since either Sloppy's and Mangled descriptions refer only to healing actions, which none on that list is?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3330347#Comment_3330347

    Mangled.

Mending and recovering are both healing effects for me.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3330272#Comment_3330272

Snapping Out Of It + Mending are both not healing actions. Snapping was specifically removed from being a healing action a while back, thus preventing Botany Knowledge from affecting it. As it isn't a healing action, Mangled shouldn't slow it down.

Likewise with opening a chest. Absolutely not a healing action.

Though, since it isn't gamebreaking (think COH literally crashing games, and Badham having missing walls being abusable but not kill switched), I think it's bugged but not worthy of the kill switch going on precedent.

Yeah that sounds like a bug. But kill switches are more for really gamebreaking stuff.

I should have been more specific on that one.

  • Ooookay enough internet for me today

  • All non meta perk should get either a overhaul or buff. We need to have more strong variety for both sides. More synergies between the perks to allow for more builds. Instead of only "fixing" the same 5 perks that continue to be meta.

Sloppy affecting the speed at which you open gates seem very unintended, indeed.

Haven´t seen it affecting exit gates yet. As it says sometimes. If so, then it should be reported as bug. But the rest on the list seems to be pretty intentional.

  • @Riski said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3329171#Comment_3329171

Yes, but when DH extends a chase by 25 seconds the killer and survivor are still playing the game afterwards while eruption leaves the survivor doing nothing for 25 seconds. If the killer is kicking gens instead of chasing survivors then you remove player vs player interaction in the PVP game and because eruption can be used once per gen per down.

I won't argue DH doesn't have its issue for game health but while it may be unfun to play against you are at least playing the game when it wastes your time, instead of sitting around doing nothing. There are other perks that encourage killers to go around kicking gens like call of brine and overcharge but those perks also encourage the killer to chase survivors off the gen after kicking it to get the regression, instead of going to the next gen and repeating; they also don't stun for 25 seconds. Eruption's problems are most not unique but they're a unique combination of problems that make it stand out as an issue. Balance aside, if you can show me someone who loads into the game with the intent to play it and then enjoys being stunned for 25 seconds for trying to play the game please do but I do not believe anyone finds the effect of a 25-second stun interesting to play against when it's a punishment for the thing you're supposed to be doing.

Finally, ruin undying wasn't healthy IMO although was healthier than eruption, assuming we're talking about release undying. I liked the fact it did encourage killers to actively chase survivors and that part of the game played out as normal but the fact survivors had to cleanse a random number of totems means even if you could find all the totems quickly because you're skilled and know all the totem spawns, you'd lose because spending time to cleanse 5 totems while ruin is active does lose you the game regardless of efficiency and not cleansing ruin would usually lose you the game against a competent killer. Just because eruption came after ruin undying doesn't mean that every meta will be worse after eruption, that's an absurd extrapolation based on no good reasoning. Looking at it it could be fair to assume that pain res could become meta or maybe no way out and deadlock which are generally considered to be fine to play against, at least in my experience.

Survivors affected by Eruption can still get healed. Either by survivors that are not affected or by perks like Inner strength. Affected survivors can still run around and get closer the the hook, a better positioned gen and by the time they reach it, the cd is over.

Undying Ruin was a extremely healthy perk combo. For the simple fact that it encouraged killers to constantly switch targets (aka not tunnel or camp). Survivors could cleanse hex totems in order to get rid of it, but were not forced to. As Ruin simply has no effect on gens that are being worked on. Most of the time i simply ignored the Ruin effect. As it made no difference. Ideally the killer chases one and the others repair gens. Even when that means that a previously almost finished gen is regressing. As the 200% regression timer is still 1/2 the speed of a single survivor repairing.

  • @Rovend said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328402#Comment_3328402

    - 40sec of gen regression on a single succesful activation

    - 30sec CD for the previously 40sec regressing effect

    - Can be used on multiple gens

    - Has no other cost than the time you spend kicking a gen

    - Synergises extremely well with other meta perks

    - Uncounterable for the mayority of players not using comms.

    - Has the means to produce +30min long games.

    - The only perk that produces a debuff usually reserved to killer' powers (incapacitation)

    • requires that survivors repair the kicked gen at the exact moment of the down.
    • CD isn´t the issue here.
    • Means that the killer probably breaks multiple chases to kick the gen.
    • having several seconds of a head start often means that a chase takes (much) longer than without said head start. SB for example often leads killers to just break the chase. Because a survivor could get to a safe tile in time. This isn´t any different. So it clearly has a cost.
    • whats wrong about synergies?
    • Eruption has no effect for the first 2-3 gens. The remaining gens require progress to be kicked. Progress means that survivors are nearby when the killer kicks the gen and starts the chase. The other survivor have then the option to either do a different gen or to pay more attention to whats happening around them. The killer usually will be downing the survivor in line of sight and not at the other end of the map.
    • how exactly? Killer needs a down to get the effect. Down usually means a hook. In order to have 30+ minute games the killer would need to get over 25 downs. No one ever complained about the old Pop allowing for 30+ minute games. When it gave a stronger regress.
    • unnerving and overwhelming presence have entered the chat.

Oh that really was the best time, no questions asked. You saw all kinda perks, everything was wild and new and fun and crazy .... and if you cornered a survivor or got to them in tje open ... you could just swing. No second guessing. No baiting it out. No questioning your lifes decisions. No indecisions. No "if you outplayed them, but they DH to safety, did you really outplay them, anon? *smirk* "Just swing and down. Ahhhh ... but of course, it wouldn't last.

Roadmap indicates more meta shake ups. Which sounds almost to good to be true.

What makes you think that Sloppy isn´t working as intended?

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3329157#Comment_3329157

This is the sentiment that I hate the most. I get it that people love their meta perks/loadouts, because they boost their success rates the most, but playing just meta often leads to quite the warped perspective on everything else.

Most meta perks are useful in all situations, so perks that are useful or fun or even both, but situational are already sidelined into the "basically useless"-category, just because you might not get max value each game or even *shudder* no value at all at sometimes.

Meta shapes the game, but a lot of you guys and gals might be surprises how fun the occasional silly buid can be, especially if the useless perks get a chance to shine and you suddenly get a new set of abilities that you never knew were possible.

One of my favorite killer perks is Spies in the Shadow. People laugh at this perk and yes, it got its issues. But it saved my butt more times then I can count, especially because it isn't meta and people don't expect it to be in play.

And as a bonus I am quite 100% confident that exactly Zero survivors got away from me, because they played Calm Spirit and naturally countered it.

    Exactly!

I often use non meta perks. Because the others don´t expect it.

We have great perks with good value. But because famous streamers don´t use them. People consider them crap.

Right after the meta shakeup, there was a great time where everything was possible. Everyday streamers tried new crazy builds and people tested them. It was wild and fresh and exactly what this game needs. Not the same 5 perks that come every match. Real variation.

  • @Riski said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328402#Comment_3328402

The incapacitated is basically a 25-second stun because you have nothing to do during that time, dodging that stun is a random guess or requires you not to touch the gen (easier said than done if they're only 3 gens left and it can be on all of them) and it leads to drawn out matches which take a very long time but don't encourage players to interact with each other more than a standard length match because the killer is constantly kicking gens and survivors are stunned continuously. It's also a perk that does better against solo than swf and even with the changes to the hud this holds true, considering this is one of the most used perks at the moment this leads to significant discrepancies to the balance and experience of solo and swf.

    Fair point.

So the survivors can´t do much during those 25 seconds (apart from repositioning). The time between the down and the end of the hooking animation is aprox 20-25 seconds. Unless the survivor gets downed right under a hook.

How about DH? It also prolongs chases. Often for more than 25 seconds and since its meta, a killer is bound to face it several times per match. Is that ok?

The advantage of Eruption for survivors is, that the killer often has to break chases in order to kick gens. This prevents chases/downs and gives survivors the option to go for something else instead of starting a chase.

Eruption isn´t unhealthy for DbD. At least not unhealthier than other perks. We had really healthy perk/combos like Undying Ruin. That got nerfed hard and then Eruption was buffed to give killers something. What do people think will happen when Eruption gets nerfed? There will come something else. Something that might be scarier. Just saying.

Wild take. You know you can pre-emptively draw the path through a window in an area you expect survivors to be at, right? Say you get discordance at a gen, and that gen is near a jungle gym. So at 30-40m away (depending on your addons) you drop the orb and fly it through the window and onto the gen. Then they are chased by a guard and the window is blocked. It is not that hard?

Same with you thinking him camping the basement is bad. I actually think that's crazy considering he is the only killer who can stand at the top of the stairs and still effectively pressure gens. Game awareness is a thing, you don't have to draw the path when a survivor is right there primed to save.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328436#Comment_3328436

Every single M1 killer who has to hit survivors twice can trivially be basement dove. Key difference with Knight is he can basically take 1 survivor out the game, so even with the entire team alive he can still make a basement save only a trade even if they play it well. While pressuring gens at the same time. Bubba can stand at the top of the stairs and kill people but he can't pressure gens so he is on a fixed timeframe to camp people to death in

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328513#Comment_3328513

There is almost nothing skillful about survivor, like at all, in comparison to killer. By design 75% of your gameplay is holding M1. And not even holding M1 anymore, it's more like 75% of your gameplay is AFKing and hitting spacebar every now and then.

I don't see why every character needs you to ooze skill to play them

Ohh so this is one of those threads where you say how Strong the recently buffed killer is, in an attempt to prevent further buffs.

    Gotcha.

Why would they try when BHVR has time and time again proven that they cave into demands? There’s no reason to improve if the devs always listen to complaints.

This is the scary part that got good things nerfed.

  • @FMG15 said:

My words exactly. People don't want to improve against the Nurse since she requires her own kind of counterplay so they rather give up and complain about her afterwards. People who practise a lot against good Nurse players are terrifying to go against. I know some strong Nurse mains and if they have time I often do 1v1s against them and I'm getting better and better against her.

    Thats a good mindset.

  • So if something isn´t OP its crap. Got it.

  • Event offerings should be a different rarity as event items and boxes. That way, survivors could have a higher chance to get event offerings/items and not all offerings are wasted on killers.

Maybe introduce a switch that lets people choose what they want to have in their event boxes. If they want items or offerings. In the case of killers, if they want envelopes or party streamers. So killers don´t end up with 100 envelopes that serve no purpose until the next year.

Because not letting people play the video game for thirty seconds feels bad.

I don't care about all the blah blah unfair for solos! tripe. I care about literally not being able to do stuff for half a minute. Even blocking the gen would be better and still strong, cuz at least you can find another gen or heal while it's blocked.

If you start running to a different gen, the 25 second timer will be over before you reach it.

  • I´m dead serious. Why is Erruption unhealthy?

Usage rate doesn't warranty a nerf in my book,,,Windows is also used a lot,,should it be nerfed ?

No, usage rate doesn´t warrant a nerf. But then again, if it would be a bad perk. People wouldn´t use it so often. Do i believe that DH needs a nerf? Nope, i think its in a good spot. BUT nerfing Erruption while keeping DH as it is, looks weird to me.

Let me explain. Erruption prevents some survivors to be unable to do anything for 25 seconds. DH prolongs chases for easily the same amount of time (if not more). Why is one considered bad and the other good?

  • @FMG15 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3327922#Comment_3327922

Many Nurse players also show a lot of respect if you can run them well. I've almost never seen that from a Blight player. I once had a match where one instantly DC'd and I run the Nurse for 3 gens until she gave up. She still won because the other two went down fast but she seemed so impressed by my performance that she gave me hatch.

I firmly believe that if more players would take some time to learn how to play against her, then no one would complain about her.

But the amount of players that just give up is simply to high. Which is a shame.

Well I think now that map of the realm isn't mandatory anymore you can use a lot of his other addons. The "summon x guard 2x in a row" addons are probably very good depending on what playstyle you are going for.

I haven't gotten around to the window blocking one yet but something tells me it will be outrageously strong on midwich where you can block the windows that connect two large rooms together and completely trap people inside with a guard while you come in from the main door.

Call to arms is disgusting now. You can drop guards straight on top of people completely outside of your terror radius. It's probably the best addon? That or increased hunt duration.

Yes plenty of M1 and low mobility killers can still lose in a basement or 3v1 situation. Knight basically cannot.

Most killers can't even realistically guard the basement and with basekit BT it's not much better than regular hooks for them. Knight can literally stand at the top of the stairs and drop guards on people 40m away with call to arms. So he is potentially the best basement camper in the game now

Since there are plenty. Could you name a couple of them, please?

Eruption needs to be nerfed, the current state is unhealthy for the game.

As a killer main, l think DH is fine perk now but I know other people can have problems with this perk so i'll let the community decide the future of DH.

    Why is erruption unhealthy?

    DH was already massively nerfed

Yep, thats why its still the most used survivor perk.

  • @Pulsar is right.

He doesn´t feel much better than before. His power is still clunkly in tight spaces or loops. Having to take a few steps back to search for a spot where to start the summoning is everything but intuitive or fluid. Survivors can still outrun the guards by holding W. Even if you spawn the guards next to them, they won´t start the chase because the search ring widens to slow.

He was playable before, but now being able to go for some prediction attacks is just amazing.

I don't feel obligated to run map of the realm every single match anymore because I can actually drop a guard on someone without them trying to dodge the orb the entire time.

Super oppressive in the 3v1, super oppressive at basement and at 3 gens. Easy to play, what is not to like?

Sometimes you just want to camp and tunnel some survivors without having to put much effort into it

I honestly haven´t noticed an improvement. Sure, he gets a small speed boost. But holding w against him is still the strongest tactic.

Are there killers that are not oppressive in a 3vs1 or basement situation?

  • Solo survivors will become more efficient with the HUD update.

I expect some after match toxicity during the transition. Because people finally see how useful or useless their teammates are, without equipping Bond or Kindred.

After 30s, if survivors are not doing gens, the gens will repair themselves.

All it did was shift the meta to a different group of gen slow down perks.

That is the definition of changing the meta.

There will always be a meta. Always perks that establish as the most picked ones. But the pre 6.1. slowdown meta is completely different then what we have now.

    Meanwhile the survivor meta...

I mean they nuked Ruin and nerfed Pop and Corrupt quite a bit but there's still plenty of strong slowdown perks for killer to choose from.

CoB/Overcharge/Eruption and even individual perks like Pain Res, Deadlock and Jolt are strong.

Also Pop and Corrupt are still serviceable perks on certain killers too, only Ruin was nerfed into uselessness.

None of the meta slowdown perks is still meta. I can´t remember when i´ve seen the last killer with Pop, Ruin or Corrupt.

    Slowdown meta changed completely.
