Gen lives matter. I'm on your side on this one OP.
It's a great balance idea. This will teach those camping and tunnelling survivors a lesson. -

@Tsulan said: It took the pressure off the survivors. Killers are the only ones which feel pressured in a horror game.
This needs to change.
Pressure can be added in the chase itself, it doesn't need to be added on the hook. To be fair, camping is sort of cheesy so making it a risky play is the best way to balance it out.
It's still viable against most survivors - their own greed and misplaced empathy works against them more often than not.
Camping is as much as fun (or as cheesy) as running in circles.
Putting pressure into chases is much more viable than camping. Shaving down time on the hook is only gonna make killers camp more. If the killer chases one survivor for 5 gens then oh well...you gotta patrol gens and not waste your time on one survivor
On high ranks, every survivor knows how to keep the killer busy. Since looping is so brain dead easy. Without ruin, there are 3 gens done, by the time the killer downed the first survivor. Thats because gens can be done in less than 80 seconds. Thats the same time bloodlust 3 kicks in. Which resets at a pallet or when the killer hits.
With ruin, the killer has roughly 30 to 60 seconds more time, before the totems gets cleansed. But sometimes survivors don´t even bother in destroying the totem. I´ve seen matches with ruin active. Where the gens took 4 minutes to complete.
1 killer can´t pressure 4 survivors at the same time. If a survivor isn´t chased he´s doing a gen. Killer can only chase 1 or he´ll lose all his progress he made in hurting them, when he switches target. Since every survivor uses SC. -
I agree. They never should have nerfed it.
-
Carrying a Flashlight draws a huge target on your back. If several survivors carry a flashlight, i´ll ignore other survivors in benefit of killing the flashlights.

Survivors do have to be near 3-4 TIMES more appealing than killer.
Yeah, thats why Megs ass is sexier than Billys.

Simple solution to reduce camping:
Cut the overall time on the hook by half.
This way, survivors would feel pressured instead of the killer.Actually, it used to be shorter. It just made camping that much more effective as the killer was less likely to be bored into leaving the hook. What we have is currently the better solution as gens are soloed faster than it takes for somebody to die on first hook.
It took the pressure off the survivors. Killers are the only ones which feel pressured in a horror game.
This needs to change. -

What I dislike currently is when I play saltvivor I'm usually the 1st or 2nd found, get chased and since I'm not "good" I get hooked out in less than 3 minutes because of this tunneling mentality. FFS, as a killer, take a minute and notice the players that aren't t-bagging, clicking, or looping and stop tunneling them so you and them can make more points. This tunnel attitude just makes me want to learn how to loop you into oblivion.Pro tip: don´t touch a gen for the first 30 seconds. Stay hidden and don´t run.

I love it! He would be OP, but I would enjoy every second while playing him or against him.
That would be the new jump scare killer! -

Sure, as soon as survivors and killers have the same collision box. Meaning that they can't abuse the difference to loop a killer.aarongai said:It's utter nonsense that BHVR would create a killer that ignores almost all the game rules and mechanics that they put in place. Sure, some killers like Huntress, Doctor, and Myers can "break" a rule or two when certain conditions are met, but Nurse breaks almost every single one that gives survivors a chance when being chased. Her power has no ammo system, and the drawback of getting fatigued for a second hardly makes a difference once you've hit a survivor and can track them by their blood, scratch marks, and grunts of pain. Comparing her to other killers:
Huntress can shorten pallet loops and break window vaults, but only IF she has hatchets AND she has enough time to wind up AND she must have line of sight of the survivor.
Doctor can break pallet loops and window vaults, but only IF he's in range AND he's times his shock well AND he's in Therapy mode AND he must endure a move speed penalty.
Myers ignores the injured health state, but only IF he's spent a significant amount of time to reach Evil Within III AND he's within melee range AND he sacrifices his smaller terror radius.
Nurse? IGNORES pallet loops, IGNORES window vaults, IGNORES pathing blockers, IGNORES height differences, IGNORES distance gaps, and with additional chain blink addons, IGNORES her own mistakes and her power's cooldown.
Nurse's power seriously needs to be reworked to where she has to obey at least Some of the rules of the game.

Thx for paying attention. I´m not the guy who is colorblind. I´m the one with a laptop that displays the whole game very dark, because of the forced settings.
sorry for the fact that I wrote my first comment like 1 or 2 hrs ago and didn't care about your names. Then buy a monitor or something. You can probably change the display settings. But imagine being able to brighten the ''horror'' game and see the killer or find survivor easier than other people. That'd be kind of bs
Here you go, i made some screenshots with a friend. He´s as dwight on every screenshot, doesn´t even really hide. Now tell me, that´s not to dark.

Being godly with nurse doesn´t guarantee a 4k every match on high ranks. That´s simply a myth spread by survivor mains to try to force a nerf on her.
It is possible to play every killer on high ranks. But Billy and Nurse are the most balanced ones and have a better chance to catch someone. Just play the way you want. You can even reach rank 1 playing Freddy only. You´ll get gen rushed and insulted anyway. So just play the way you like. There is no point in arguing with survivors which insult you after a match. -

Kinda tired of having to edit config files and use older drivers just to play this game because being color blind [BAD WORD] sucks with default settings.
I need geforce experience to see on dark maps. My monitor is quite dark by nature and if there is a mist/moonlight offering I have to DC the game. Its pretty sad that there are no ingame options
Exactly! My laptop is really dark, and on that darkest moonlight maps, i can give up the match, because i won´t see survivors unless they run in front of me.

Answer the question. Do you think it's unreasonable to focus on the big problem instead of solving small issues that would further tilt the game in the Survivors' favor?
This is a "yes/no" question. I failed to see either of those words in your answer. Once you answer it, you can then explain your reasoning. Here, I'll go first.
It's not unreasonable to fix the bigger problem first. Fixing Survivor problems might help Survivors in the short term, but in the long term, it's better if you start by putting Killers where they should be, so that the Survivor fixes don't make the game unbalanced to the point Killers put together another strike.Yet what's the actual big problem here, buffing killers or fixing the underlying issues that cause that? So you buff killers 1st well then now the shoes on other foot so they either nerf killers again or buff survivors and then were back to square 1 again.
This is why they need to address it all at the same time instead of piecemeal attempts which just end up making them redo stuff later. If they make changes to say aura reading abilities at the same time they know the balance is there when they go to release it. But if they do only killers then they have to either nerf it back again or buff survivors.
This is why they decided to change tinkerer completely because trying to adjust things for one group meant they couldn't get it right for the others. By doing the change all at once they cna now buff all the killers individually for how cdr stuff works.
The same is true for fixing killers, if you don't fix the underlying issues and instead only buff them it fixes nothing.
I don´t agree. Killers have been nerved harder than survivors in the past 2 years. Most killer meta perks have been nerfed so hard, that everyone stopped using them, because they would handicap themself more by using them. Survivor perks on the other hand have been nerfbuffed. For every minor nerf, they have been hugely buffed on the other side. SC doesn´t give as much of a heal bonus to medkits? Let´s give rank 1 and 2 the 50% base heal speed!
In order to balance this game, the devs need to nerf/buff one side. Then see how that works out, before they do it another time. If they change to many things on both sides at the same time, they risk that they get inconclusive data. Because the whole thing might cause a chain reaction.
That was the whole point of the PTB. To see if the planned changes are to much or not enough. But survivors felt to entitled to play on the PTB. Because they wouldn´t gain anything from it (perks not being nerfed so hard is obviously not worth fighting for). That was a missed chance, and everyone who complains about the changes after they go live, should just shut up. Because they had their chance and didn´t use it.
-
His bottles can be easily dodged. Since they fly so slow. He's mediocre at best.
Do you really want to face Nurse only?
Nerfing every mediocre killer until killers have no other choice than playing nurse or survivor. -

-
Sadly, survivors missed their chance to change the numbers of the BNP nerf, by not participating in the PTB.
After all, that's the point of the PTB. To test changes and adjust the numbers accordingly to the test results. -
My guess is, that killers will never be strong, because then, survivors would play mostly killer. Which would cause long lobby queues.
But right now it's ridiculously balanced in survivors favor. -
The killer has to remove 1 player as soon as possible. Otherwise gens will be done in no time.
When a match takes 10 minutes, the killer can afford to go for someone else. But with 3 minute matches, he needs to kill fast, to slow the game down. -
As @Dragonredking said, that used to be a bug.
If that's a new kind of hack, then the devs should take care of it. There is no way to report this directly, but you can try to contact them over the support email.

You know, the last time Killers really did quit the game, Survivor queue times spiked. Survivors have short memories, apparently...Do you want to know the difference between Killer whining and Survivor whining? The majority of Killers "whine" about severe balance issues that result in unfun games and put all the power in what should be the weaker side in this asymmetrical game (Survivors). The majority of Survivors whine about things that either make them less powerful (as it should be) or things that can made them lose for once.
I think one of the main issues never addressed is putting killers in 3rd person, I think this would help so much.
Putting survivors into first person would solve most of the problems.

Um...I'm confused. I said some survivors feel entitled to survive and some killers feel the are entitled to a kill. This is truth. I'm not saying all. That would be inclusive and that's just wrong thinking that everyone is the same way. For instance as a survivor I don't feel I deserve to survive just because a hatch pops up. I need to earn that baby. Just like if me as the killer has, for instance noed, I don't feel entitled to a killer just because all my totems weren't broken so I have it but the entire team is already at the exits. I'm meant I'm confused why you said I need to correct myself.
If people would play solo survivor and killer to rank 1. Maybe they would understand the other side and stop being so toxic or entitled.
I've only made it to Rank 1 as survivor survivor. I'm a horrible killer and know it. But I still can see it from both sides. I watch streams on youtube, no one big, and can see it from the killer side due to that. I also know I've gotten toxic messages playing both survivor and killer. I don't camp or tunnel as killer and I'll still get a nasty message from a survivor because they died. I've gotten messages from killers just because they couldn't catch me, no pallet looping for flashlights, they were just swinging at the wrong time. I'm just one of those people that treats people, whether irl or through electronics, how I would want to be treated. Guess it's just that simple for me.
Please, take your time and try to rank up killer only. Doesn´t matter if it takes 1 or 3 months. Just do it.
Watching a streamer and experiencing it first hand are not the same things. -

I just want everybody to feel welcomed. You know the game Warframe?
It's famous for it's great community. A community that HELPS out it's newest members.
Here? STRAP ON THE PERKS TO GET THE ADEPT ACHIEVEMENT! / BNP TIME!
The very core of the community is rotten, and people refuse to change it.
Unless severe punishment is handed to toxicity, This game will always have a "biased side". People need to play both sides, not equally, the best ratios is 75:25.
I know you don't really want a "Walk in the park " game. I know you want a real FAIR chanllege. most people on these forums do.
The first step lies within us. Not the devs. If The community heals, trust me....You'll see threads about balance that have little t no bias.
Want to fix the game? Fix it along the community.I doubt that we can fix the community, when bullying the killer is normal, but a camping killer is considered toxic.

-No, insulting someone at the end of a game or in his steam profile is not ok, particularly if it's just like "ez baby killer" or "without SWF you are #########", this is literally harassement.
I never had so much insults on my steam profile since I have DBD.
We should all do peace guys, and it's not because a famous player is doing one of those thing that you should do it too, the community is a real problem, not since the release of the game, but since streamers and youtubers started to play cancer, most people play like them because they do not think by themself, this need to stop.By the way I'm not a native english speaker so please don't mind mistakes, I have 1k hours on DBD and I play both survivors and killers equally
- SWF was never a planned feature. Devs only introduced after so many survivors lobby dodged untill they got in the same lobby as their friends. It´s funny how they now hate lobby dodging killers, which try to avoid SWF.
- Camping was a planned feature from the beginning. Hook times were shorter and survivors had to hurry to reach the hook in time. Back then, the survivors felt the pressure. Hook times got only increased after survivors complained. Now they use the extra time to finish 3 gens.
- Insults are bad, i agree.

I can't exactly remember but I know it was near the beginning. I'm just saying most of us want balanced. Not leaning heavily towards one side. Not all players are toxic either. That's all I'm saying. Tsulan said:
@Tsukirose31 said:I dont want to point this out but there was a time where there were very little survivors because the game was so unbalanced for them that people just straight up didn't want to play. Killers had a really hard time finding a game. I'm not saying there aren't some killers that need buffed or attention but killer mains you also have to realize us survivor mains want a balanced game on our end too. Yes there are things on survivor side that need nerfed but we needs our tools just as much as killers do to have a balanced game. There's a way to balance both sides without making things impossible for each other and basing survivor changes on a full squad of SWF is just not fair to the ones who play alone like myself. Even the few games I did get to play with friends I'm not a toxic player. Most of us are playing just to have a good time.
When was that time? Pre Alpha?
Game has been survivor sided for 2 years. That´s why i´m asking. The ONLY times killers had long lobby ques, was when a new killer was released and survivor mains had to test the new killer on ranked instead of KYF.
10 out of 12 killers need buffs. That´s not "some killers" that´s the overwhelming majority. Back in the beginning SC was so strong, that a survivor could heal himself in between 2 killer hits. Also Infinites existed back then. So i doubt that was the time where killers were considered OP.
10 out of 12, so yes, SOME. I don't think you're getting the point of my post here. My point is that basing buffs and nerfs on trolls is not the way to go. Providing a balanced game on both sides is. I'm a survivor main and I know there are survivors out there that can control the game by themselves which I do not think is okay. I know survivors need nerfed. That being said, most of the the complaints I'm seeing and 'fixes' that I'm hearing would make the survivor completely frustrating to play as I know some killers are frustrating to play and need buffed. Nerfs and buffs need to be balance across the board. Not just in ones favor. I agree with some of the upcoming nerfs to survivors and all of the buffs to killers that are coming. Yes the killer needs to be slightly stronger than survivors. But completely overwhelming to the survivors will cut the survivor player base in half.
Those slight nerfs that are coming with the next patch, won´t really do much to change the meta and the game. BUT survivors complain about it, like its the end of the world. Balance needs to happen. OP perks like SC, DS, SB need to be nerfed hard. As hard as killer perks got nerfed back in the day. Turning a meta perk into a useless one (Myers perks). Survivors need more objectives and Hex perks should be normal perks. The only one which would require an adjustment in numbers would be Devour Hope. Just increase the required hooks/saves and the perk wouldn´t be OP despite of being a normal one.
I'm not complaining about it. The only one that hurts my soul a little is the self care one but I understand it. I don't use DS. If I get caught, I don't deserve a get out of jail free card. Sprint burst I also understand. Granted it's helped me out a lot but I understand it. I also understand this is not going to fix the game. I play killer too, not the best, but I play. I'm getting better. I understand some of the struggle which is why I agree with these things. I would love more objectives as a survivor. That would be AWESOME!!! I don't feel ALL hex perks should be normal perks. I think ruin shouldn't be specifically because that's just a bit too much. But ones like devour, third seal, and lullaby, yeah, I could see those being normal perks. (Side note: See everyone!!! We're having a discussion without verbally attacking each other lol)
Ruin isn´t much of a problem on high ranks. Survivors either gen tap or push through by hitting all the great skill checks. Hex perks were supposed to be "high risk, high reward" but sadly its more like a "high risk, low reward" thing. Ruin is only mandatory on high ranks, because the gens get done so quickly.
For example, i just had a match, where i got hooked near ruin. 3 gens were done before they unhooked me. 3 gens before ruin was destroyed. Wasn´t really a slow game.
A hexless Devour Hope would also reduce camping.People can usually argue with me. I´m usually a really calm and reasonable person. We can have different opinions and as long as everyone defends his opinion without insulting, i dont see a problem.
Yeah, I power through ruin but on PS4 you would be surprised how many people between rank 4 and 1 don't power through and run around like chickens with their heads cut off looking for it. It's annoying as hell being the only one working on gens. Plus gen tapping is a guarantee. You could still get a pop up and blow it. On top of that it takes soooooo long to gen tap. Do you play on computer? (not asking in a judgy way) I just wanted to say, on PS4 75% of the time, those hexes go a long way. I guess it has more to do with platform for some of those hexes too. SWF probably factors into it as well. Talking to people would make things easier as well. "hey you go look for this, everyone keep doing that'
Playing on PC. On high ranks the totem survives usually only the first 30 to 60 seconds. But since gens can be done so fast, every second counts. Killers shouldn´t be forced to sacrifice a perkslot to get some extra seconds of game time. The survivors should feel pressured, but only the killer feels pressured. Imagine a horror movie, where the victims are all relaxed and tease the killer, while he feels bullied and stressed all the time.

I can't exactly remember but I know it was near the beginning. I'm just saying most of us want balanced. Not leaning heavily towards one side. Not all players are toxic either. If one side is too strong your going to loose the other making finding a game hard. Basing all nerfs and buffs of trolls is not the way to go. It's going to ruin the game for everyone else. That's all I'm saying. Tsulan said:

Problem with the report system is, that people abuse it to report useless #########.
Like "you camper! Reported! Enjoy your ban!" Or "my team was #########, I'll report them for being bad".
This stuff was probably the reason why they removed the old report page.
So the new system should be really clear about what is reportable and what not. But people will probably still report nonsense. -
